So I go upstairs. As I'm walking down the hall, I'm trying to prepare myself for what I'm going to see when I go into my bedroom. I step on a man's jacket that doesn't belong to me. And everything I think I know… just shifts. Because the jacket that doesn’t belong to me is a jacket that I recognize. And what I know now is that when I go into my bedroom, I'm not gonna just see that my wife is cheating on me. I'm gonna see that my wife is cheating on me with Mark, who happened to be my best friend. It's just so pedestrian, and common and dirty and cruel. Mostly just cruel. I left. I came out here.

"Here's what a functional democracy does after its president abuses his power and declares martial law: remove him from office."
--Steven Beschloss
"Protesters reacting as the vote to impeach the president was announced on Saturday."
Opposition lawmakers needed eight supporting votes from Mr. Yoon’s party to impeach him. When they called an impeachment vote last weekend, Mr. Yoon’s People Power Party boycotted it, saying that he should be given a chance to resign rather than be impeached. Only three of its 108 lawmakers participated. On Saturday, the party said that it officially opposed impeachment, but its lawmakers were allowed to cast their secret ballots. The result indicated that 12 lawmakers from Mr. Yoon’s party had joined the opposition to impeach him and another 11 abstained or cast invalid votes, sealing his fate. [emphasis added]
Why couldn't the Republicans in the U.S. Senate have voted to convict Trump in 2021 after he incited an insurrection and attempted to interrupt the peaceful transfer of power?
Once again, Republicans make America look bad in the eyes of the world.

imagine being a Korean person awake at like one in the morning trying to accept that the president of South Korea actually just tried to go full dictatorship by way of an emergency martial law because he was basically having a political temper tantrum and every agency and corporation in the country is all hands on deck, code red mode on everything and the military is being deployed and then the assembly revokes the martial law and then the president is like lol nevermind and now you have to get ready to work at your shitty job on a Wednesday

Countries that experienced colonial rule or suffered civil wars due to arbitrary borders drawn by Western powers during their power struggles often carry the seeds of political conflict from their inception. The repercussions of such histories persist for decades, if not longer. If only our country had been spared such experiences! Instead of a political culture rooted in division and animosity, we could have developed a democracy based on harmony and progress. I lament!

Politicians are all stupid fucks that only care about their own political interests over people's voice or even constitutional law and order. I am seething with anger.
