Hello everyone, I'm on vacation ^-^ The place is nothing fancy (we're in the quintessential touristy area for families with kids and people who don't swim in money), but the food is super abundant and yummy. There was a bit of traffic to get here but nothing major considering it's August... Now a little walk outside. Goodnight to you guys if I'm too sleepy to post when I get back ahaha

Alright guys, time for me to go to bed... I'll be leaving for a vacation with my family tomorrow, so I probably won't be around much. (I guess it all depends on whether the wifi works decently...)
You guys take care and remember to stay hydrated <3 <3
All the hugs ^-^

the most uncomfortable and upsetting book i ever read was a book for children from my elementary school's library. it was a series of tales about animals that happened to hit squick buttons my little self didn't even know she had.
i kept reading it because it was a children's book from the school's library, i was not supposed to be upset by it, right?! also, and i suppose most importantly, we had to write a report on the books we borrowed from the school's library, so i tried really hard to read the whole thing and write the report before the deadline.
obviously, in forcing myself to read the book i just made myself more uncomfortable. but i had to read the book because it was for school...
moral of the story, each kid has their own discomfort buttons. the same story will be a nice little tale for a kid and upsetting for another. the difference is not the content of the story. it's the person's experience reflecting in the story, and it's entirely subjective.
the solution is to make kids free to read and free to stop reading. to make kids free to talk to someone about something that made them upset even if the thing is not "objectively" upsetting - you must teach kids that it's okay to be upset by something no one else finds upsetting, and it's nothing to be embarrassed about. free to make their own choices.
but all of this *waves at the world* is not actually about kids, so. we can just talk ourselves to death about these topics and it will never be about what the recent laws and debates are about. still. let kids be free.
joining the war on kids reading any book they want on the side of kids reading any book they want. simply you will be fine. it's even good to be confronted with things you don't understand and even find upsetting, uncomfortable and difficult. it's a surprise tool that will help you later.

well, when you see the world through the lens of the assumption that a romantic/sexual relationship inherently excludes friendship but is some kind of power struggle,
I think the strangest criticism of queer ships is when people say “no, they’re best friends” or “they’re better as just friends” like bitch they are still best friends. They’re just also fucking. What’s not clicking?
