You were thankfuk Jay came. After all, he was Jin Ae's favourite uncle, so she'll be busy with him.

'Sunghoon still hasn't come back...' You sob, desperate for your husband to just hug you tight, professing his unending love for you.

Jin Ae claps and giggles, oblivious to the saddening situation that took place. What could you expect from a two-year-old? She may be smart, but she still had a long way to go.

'Jin Ae-ah! Come to Uncle Jay.' He exclaims, forcing a smile.

'*groans* What's happening? First, I hear y/n shouting, now you're here. Oh, isn't it your daily get-together with Hoon?'

'Should've been, yeah.'

You were bewildered with the unexpected presence of the sister.

'Yeji, when did you get here? I don't remember you being here yesterday...'

'Hoon called me to look after you two. Actually, that's strange. Sunghoon would never leave you two...

You could pass out with the way you couldn't control your breathing. But it was the thought of finding your husband that kept you going.

'Jay...do you know where Sunghoon could be?'

'Your the wife here, not me.' He says sarcastically, yelping when Yeji slapped him.

'YAH, YOU SINGLE ASS UNCLE, DON'T MAKE FUN OF THE SITUATION. No wonder why you still got no bitches.'

Scarlet Lady Finale Prediction

Under the cut for spoilers.

Sometime within the next 10 or so pages, Chloe is going to start feeling the effects of the broken peacock miraculous.

Hawkmoth is going to make some careless comment about how he knew the peacock miraculous was broken, and he willingly gave her a broken miraculous. Bonus points if he's still salty over all the times Chloe has foiled his plans as Scarlet Lady.

Chloe, being the diva she is, is not going to react well to the knowledge that the "gift" that Hawkmoth gave her is in fact not a gift.

Chloe, being the queen that she is, is not going to react well to the knowledge that Hawkmoth is using her as a glorified pawn.

Now, Chloe might want her revenge against the "sidekicks" who "stole" her miraculous, but I think she hates the idea of being a pawn even more than she wants revenge. It's in her nature not to take attacks to her ego and pride laying down.

And so she'll turn on Hawkmoth.

This isn't redemption; Chloe would have a lot more work to earn such a thing, after everything she's done. This would just be Chloe acting true to her nature.

(That's my prediction, let's see how close (or off the mark) I am as we draw near to the end)

Edit 05/06: When I said "within the next 10 pages," I did not mean "2 pages after the prediction," nor did I expect it to hit Chloe like a freight truck, oh my gosh, YIKES. Also, with Chloe very much out of commission and Nathalie has taken the peacock, my prediction is basically moot. Oh well, it was fun, but I forgot how much of a punch any broken miraculous has.

I think it would be mortal, bo’re and immortal for me. Which is pretty basic bc that’s the order we got it in

The thing is, I’m here for toxicity and people who should be in jail (susu) or a psychiatric ward (ttj) and I think the mortal arc fulfills that the best lmao

Even with that it’s mostly early mortal arc that I enjoyed the most i.e. everything before bo’re like Sheng arc perfectly embodied ms. Megan’s “He lyin' to me and I'm lyin' to him, guess we both ain’t shit”. Both of them being sooo trusting and actually nice to each other while they were actually just serving their own agendas was absolutely PEAK.

Also. Like. THE BOAT ARC. insane insane insane. I could go ON about this era. Ttj’s delusion + horniness. Susu constantly being ready to throw down at the drop of a hat. Him somehow becoming more down bad for her after she strangled him, beat him with sticks, punched him and said she fucking hated him.

And THE CABIN SCENE. Talked so much with moot abt this this specifically

This is NOTHING short of “she yell at me n I moan”. Word for word during my live tweeting I was like. This is the look of man wanting to be impregnated and I continue to standby it that man wants to be bouncing on it SO bad.

The Bo’re arc was also very fun. Tian Huan was a cunt but also kind of a girlboss? Idk. LOVE how Xiao Lin was Susu’s brother here & love how his only role was hating his little sister’s loser husband. Ming Ye & Sang Jiu had me after the first ep of the arc I swear I was 🤤 all over them day one. Ming Ye sucks for fumbling a bad bitch though

Immortal arc ranks last for me bc of how choppy it is. It’s very clear that chunks had to be cut out, I found the script summary of the dream demon arc on Reddit and I’m so pissed the original version sounds great. Also there’s this one scene where Susu shows up to the abyss in a black veil but she’d left the sect in a completely different fit and ik I just KNOW there was a yiyue tribe interaction there…

The cuts hurt the drama a lot. However unlikely it is I hope we one day get a blurayof the complete version or a streaming platform buys the rights to it or something…

AITA for embarrassing my coworker

I (18 male) currently work a minimum wage part time job while I’m saving for a car (ugh). This job is essentially just an assembly line to put food on trays. So one person puts on the ticket and the silverware and sends it down the line, the next puts on dessert etc etc. Well today I was 1 so I was putting on silverware, liners, creamer, sugar, salt, pepper, and silverware. It’s one of the most difficult stations and I tend to need to focus to read what each individual ticket needs (soup spoon, sugar sub, no salt, etc), we had a somewhat new guy alone on 3. His only job was to put butter on every tray, mustard on any tray with a sandwich, and soup on any tray that wanted it. I was somewhat a little salty probably because 3 is my favorite station and the one I’m an expert at but I had to be put on 1 because the person originally scheduled for 1 called off last minute. So we’re moving at a good pace, I’ve got the trays mostly backed up to the end everyone is doing their best. The manager keeps calling down like “need a mustard” “need a soup and cracker” “you put on the wrong soup” so on and so forth all mistakes by the guy on 3. No biggie it’s only his like 4th time working 3 alone (after like 2 weeks of training) and it’s not slowing us down too much. Plus I get it’s embarrassing to have the manager call out every mistake outloud in front of everyone, but quite frankly that’s just how it is since he needs the mistake corrected and needs to stay at his own spot on the line. So we’re in a lull where I’m not pushing trays because I had to replenish the stack of trays in front of me and switch out my silverware container so I’m not constantly pushing trays down. Again no big deal I can get us backed up again within 30 seconds. But instead this smug little jerk turns and yells down the line “HEY (my name) CAN I PAY YOU TO GO FASTER. HOW DOES TEN BUCKS SOUND” and my response was to yell back “HEY CAN I PAY YOU TO DO YOUR JOB RIGHT” my manager looked like a deer in headlights I’m pretty sure he thought might punch the kid (oh the new guy he’s like 16/17?ish, not much younger than me but not older for sure btw) well after trayline he came up to me (3 not the manager lol) and said that I really embarrassed him and did the “it’s just a prank bro” type defense where he said he was joking and I reminded everyone he was doing a bad job and what I said was too mean spirited. I basically laughed in his face. Because I thought my comeback was good. But then both my manager (who usually really trusts me) and another coworker who I usually get along with really well told me that I was a little harsh and he didn’t really understand how trayline works and he looked like he was crying after I insulted him back (I didn’t see because when I push trays I’m usually looking down at the ticket) and my manager implied I better go easy on him in the assembly for dishroom which really got to me since I don’t think my manager has every taken any one else’s side besides mine if I’m involved in a conflict, I’m one of his go to trainers and I know every station, he wanted to make me an assistant supervisor. So just the fact that he thought I jumped the gun with my retort is really having me doubt myself. I probably would have just polled my friends but I just got home from the above described shift and saw that the smoshblr aith is up and figured I could toss it in here to see what yall think.

Oh btw I put on anon which I feel like a little ruins the fun for me because it’d be cool to actually have discussions with moots about it being me but since I made the choice to put my age in here so I could feel like a real Redditor I’m keeping it on anon lol

this is my third year in s+d!

i’m doing original performance and duo! my op is a political comedy about a girl named roe dating a guy named wade (take a wild guess what i’m referencing) and she slowly realizes he sucks and breaks up with him at the end bc it’s her right to choose what she does with herself. my duo is about a crazy teacher sort of abusing her student. in the end, the student stands up to the teacher and ends the abuse. both pretty sigma

a category i want to do for nationals is obviously duo since original performance isn’t a national event and it’s the only other one i do. i LOVEEE my duo 100% but i am a little salty that nationals doesn’t have original performance, original comedy, creative expression or anything similar.

a category i want to try is impromptu! idk if other states have this but it’s like you get a quote and you have 2 minutes to come up with three reasons that support your interpretation of the quote and then you give a speech about it. i think it sounds cool and i think i’d be good at it! granted, ive only done interp events so that may not be the case but i digress.

a rank horror story i have is last tournament one of my final round judges for original performance ranked me FIFTH while the other ones ranked me either 1st or 2nd. I WOULD HAVE WON IF IT WASNT FOR HIM. WHAT THE HECK BRO. also this isn’t a rank story but i did break a table mid performance. whoops!

i barely ever practice before my first round. it’s a bad habit, i know but i just can’t do it 😭

me and my duo partner have been performing together long before we both did speech! it’s almost unfair to the others how well we work together

i have lucky purple earrings that i wear to each tournament! they don’t really match with my suit, but they’re small so it doesn’t matter

oh lord. okay in harvard quarterfinals for poi last year 2 of the judges had ranked me as going into semifinals (a 2 and a 3) AND THEN THE OTHER JUDGE GAVE ME A 6. IF SHE HAD GIVEN ME A 5 I WOULD HAVE BROKEN INTO SEMIS. she litterally ranked it opposite of the other judges almost exactly. ....and then i found out that the judge who bombed me got hit by a car a month later LOL

 Good morning I am mad! Like y’all said I am extremely appreciative of Cassie providing us this piece of media for free. Which I heard would be made into a physical book, which means she’ll probably get a lot of cash from it, anyway! So some fans should stop using that as an excuse, for it being a mediocre piece of media at best. The writing was great and the artwork was wonderful! But The plot could’ve been thawed out better. First of all, I left with more questions then I started out with. Like could Kit see Rupert? Was Andrew and Arthur aware of Rooper’s existence? If they were, why did Arthur came back to take the statues out of the garden? And many many many more other questions, we should’ve gotten the answers to. Second of all, this Kit and Ty thing is getting exhausting! SOBH is supposed to give us a look into the grove of the TWP team, warming them up to take the Baton from Julian and Emma. Like what COHF and Shadowhunters academy did for are main characters in Dark Artifices, with the wedding ceremony and Tessa teasing the potential, for a new Herondale. But no! They spend most, of what was supposed to be a opportunity for us to know them better, pining after each other! Kit’s character growth seem rough and out of nowhere, he didn’t really solve the kidnapping, Julian did. It leaves me fearful of what would happen when Julian is unable to save the day yet once again! Who is Kit and Ty without their romantic feelings for each other?

I’m in raged about how Ty’s struggle as a Neuro diversion person, living in a unyielding and rigid society, was once again sideline for someone else’s problem! But, I’m not going to further with that line of thought because there has been so many on here who’s been saying the same thing for months and years now! CC never listens! 

To add the cherry on top of the proverbial pie, all the sudden, out of nowhere Jamie ( a character who we never given much thought to) is missing. Can she please tie up the loose ends first! This is so messy! It reminds me of a five-year-old, eating a cupcake, with the cream and cake splattered all over the table, creating a catastrophic catastrophe! At least the five years old is cute😂. A person going missing, on top of everything else on the other hand is not.

First, it needs to be acknowledged that the opening to this ask had us dying (what a mood!) 😂 Bestie, we are with you.

Here’s a rant in return (as a bitter and salty treat):

On Criticism ...

The bit about it being sold and therefore that argument being moot is interesting, because it was never intended to be sold, and she can’t very well go back and edit it to make it worth the money we fully intend to spend on it at this point. You do have a good point, but at the same time, it is still free content in that purchasing a hard copy won’t provide anyone with anything that isn’t available to them online.

When it comes down to it, the issue is less about whether Cassie is profiting off of SoBH, and more so the fact that she is a published author who opens herself up to criticism through her profession. Her content isn’t ‘safe’ based on the revenue it generates. This was still a very fun project and experience, but it’s okay to criticize. It’s not a personal attack or an attack on her writing/content, which is something that is important for us to understand so that we don’t feel obligated to come up with excuses or defenses for the person behind the writing.

On Questions & No Answers ...

The point about ending with more questions than we started with is probably one of the most frustrating parts honestly. These in-between projects are essentially meant to fill gaps, aka answer questions, and instead we ended up with out-of-place fluff that didn’t exactly fit into canon — yes, we’re still mad and confused about how Arthur and Andrew could have lived in Blackthorn Hall in the canon timeline. Plus, we get no definitive information on Rupert or why he’d be trapped, which makes him being the ghost feel lackluster after the fact. We are Big Mad™.

On the TWP Gang ...

As for Kit, Ty and the passing of the baton, we get you. We’ve been a broken record on the point that the Kit Pain Train™ took way too long of a trip in this project. Kit’s character development wasn’t mingled into the story as well as it should have been, which lands on the fact that his arc in SoBH was tacked on to expand the plot after Chain of Thorns was pushed back.

It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely didn’t get the attention or drift off that it should’ve — which, as you said, could have been achieved if Kit did anything to actually help the Mina situation aside from getting bodied by Mother Hawthorn. He takes initiative, which is something, but to have him be the catalyst for success rather than Julian (or have him work more actively WITH Julian on a plan), would’ve hit much harder in a narrative sense. (There’s at least a lot to look forward to here, though, as we’ll get to see the growth of Kit’s leadership skills etc. from a better vantage point once TWP starts.)

The same goes for Ty and Dru. If Cassie genuinely wanted to have SoBH set up TWP (which is essentially what it did), they should’ve been given more of an active role, as well. Yes, Ty built the ghost sensor and helped with ley lines, but Dru never once interacted with anyone outside of Kit. 

We feel like Ty being neurodivergent/autistic gets sidelined, as well as him as a character, because Cassie doesn’t have the time to do it or him justice. She’d rather push it back for TWP when she can dedicate the proper research and commitment to portray him correctly — honorable but cheap when you still have him lingering in the background. 

On THAT Ending ...

The catastrophic catastrophe of ending on this last installment indeed! This is something we will discuss much more in our episode this week, but it would have been much more satisfying to end this in a way that rounded out Secrets of Blackthorn Hall, rather than create a new loose end for a character whose name had only been mentioned once before throughout the entire story, and whom no one really give two shits about other than Dru (including both the characters and the fandom lol).

It does set up the transition into TWP in a way that might make sense if (a) TWP wasn’t so damn far away, (b) we felt and or understood more about the gravity of that, and (c) Cassie had made mention of him more throughout SoBH.

since its AU day of epithet week, I wanna post an AU we made a while ago. It's a swap AU but like different from Epithet Swap i swear. It would be apt to call it something like an anime campaign swap but its not really that either since all the character changes carry over from epithet? It's a weird grey zone between anime campaign and epithet erased so I decided to name it Sugar Cookie Shuffle. yknow because the working title for epithet erased was Sugar Cookie Jazz, which is kinda like an in between of anime campaign and epithet erased.

ok so Sugar Cookie Shuffle is a swap AU that swaps:

Molly and Lorelai Calliope and Martin Giovanni and Rick Sylvie and Mera Indus and Moot Percy and Howie Ramsey and Zora Trixie and Feenie Charles and Guile Dan Gansley and Don Infusio Naven and Yoomtah

lets go over each of these in no particular order

Zora and Ramsey Zora is gonna stay a cowboy but is now an Only Sane Man archetype, the combination of which is extremely funny. Ramsey is now a Suit Villain, which means he's gonna always look like this and thats cool as fuck because LOOK AT HIM

epithet swapped made ramsey into a cowboy and made zora into not a cowboy and that is a travesty. Ramsey is basically built to be a Suit Villain. also suits are cool and hot and i love them.

in place of turning Bugsly into a baby, Ramsey just fucking turns Arnold to gold.

Sylvie and Mera in anime campaign, sylvie had a murderous hatred of mera and mera did not give a single shit about him. That dynamic is good actually. In Sugar Cookie Shuffle, Sylvester Ashling is a genius with intense narcolepsy caused by his epithet. He slept through 60% of university and only barely failed to get a doctorate. He's very salty about that and wants to get the Arsene Amulet to research it but also blah blah blah Mera backstory also since beefton was awake when sylvie was asleep, he's just as much of a genius as his waking self. Just more prone to destruction because its fun.

Mera is physician who wants to research epithets' passive effects on biological processes. has a Napoleon complex. slightly just kinda pathetic.

Indus and Moot Moot is Sylvie's bodyguard to protect/hide him whenever he falls asleep due to narcolpsy. also to protect the people around him because he passively turns his dreams real and like doctor beefton and whatnot. She's also looking for her brother Indus because blah blah blah Indus backstory

Indus is edgy now. His barriers have spikes because hes edgy.

Guile and Charles Guile just can't keep friends because he always feels the urge to shoot them.

Charles is on the Gaslight gatekeep girlboss grind and intentionally gets into relationships and then emotionally destroys them Like in AC, they still manage to have a good friendship despite all the issues with themselves. Charles has a soft spot for utterly hopeless people and that's how she stays friends with Guile and Mera.

Molly and Lorelai + Calliope and Martin Martin dies in this one instead of Calliope Molly is better about it. Lorelai is worse about it. (blyndeffswap AU is basically this premise but done well) Calliope and Martin balance each other out so instead of Martin's braindead idiocy an Molly having to do everything, its Calliope's breakneck efficiency and Lorelai not being able to keep up. to parallel Molly being depressing and cynical, Lorelai is like monumentally morbid. She has creation powers and uses them in the most fucked up ways possible. "My parents are ghosts! DEAD GHOSTS! Feel bad now?" "My dads a ghost! Look here he is!" Makes a fucked up dad ghost "hiiii lorrieeeee"

Phoenica and Trixie Trixie Roughhouse is from a line of dastardly sorcerers, villains, and knaves. also Trixie is also constantly haunted by ghosts and stuff. Phoenica's still rich but like uhhh. idk ok?

(on the topic of neo trio and lorelai i genuinely dont know what ages they should be. like should molly and lorelai switch ages? should the neo trio stay with molly or should they be lorelai's friend group now? splitting the neo trio feels wrong and I cant't think of a good answer.)

Giovanni and Rick Rick likes friends and the boys are his friends. :) Giovanni uhh. Primordial... Soup? wait he's not ocean race uhh. Roughhouse family villainy? we worked on this AU over one night ok we can't flesh out every swap.

Percy and Howie obvious swap is obvious. we didn't really work on this much. instead of turning percy's sword into time death blade, ramsey turns howie's wrench to gold and manipulates it in mid air to make a magic boomerang.

Naven and Yoomtah obvious swap is obvious, we didn't really work on this much.
