So this is Salty Licorice cookie. I had to make them because the design was stuck in my head. Might use them for something, idk yet.

Salty Licorice Cookie, initial concept: A surviving descendant of the Licorice Tribe in the Dark Cacao Kingdom. She works for Dark Cacao Cookie as a monitor of the Licorice Sea, but became fused with some of the Licorice Monsters when the Cookies of Darkness struck the kingdom.

Salty Licorice Cookie, now: An ancient sea monster residing in the Licorice Sea. Got electrocuted by Dark Cacao Cookie centuries ago (they made fun of his dead friends) and came back for revenge. Likely has a zombie-ish look to them now.

Oh yeah so I finally found that original image with those flavors of certain characters. Well actually I found it a week or two ago, I just forgot about it until I was doing cleanup this morning

Anyways, so I’m aware that these aren’t actually talking about the flavors of the Cookies themselves. This is about the macarons based on each Cookie and what flavors they are

But I kind of want to take these and make them into headcanon flavors. Or at least, they’re tertiary flavors/something that’d be picked up in a dough analysis

Like for instance, Dark Cacao has a trace amount of sea salt in his dough, and similarly Eclair has trace amounts of birthday cake in his. Cotton has some milk in hers, so perhaps she has some ancestry from the Milk Tribe. Sea Fairy tastes similar to Fruity Pebbles, which tbh vaguely remind me of the color of coral, so I like to think she could have originally been a coral based Cookie, assuming she was something before being Sea Fairy. Dark Enchantress has a berry flavor to her. I don’t really have ideas for the other three but there’s things you could come up with

Again I know these aren’t canon, but I can at least incorporate them into headcanon if I want to

Servamp headcanons, ice cream edition! Because my grandma got an ice cream maker and we’re all super eager to try it out but then she broke her back (she’s fine, don’t worry)

Mahiru: plain old vanilla. Misono introduced him to vanilla BEAN ice cream though and he’s feeling a little guilty about wanting to splurge a bit for the more expensive, creamier stuff… Kuro is an enabler and his encouragement is the only reason he’s still managing to resist. Just do it Mahi!

Kuro: Cookies and Cream is his favorite, but he’s also partial to cookie dough, or crumbled chocolate mint cookies as topping. He likes both the taste and the texture

Misono: chocolate lol. He’s predictable. His absolute favorite though are those ultra decadent brownie batter type of chocolate ice creams. Yknow the ones. Chocolate pieces, brownie bits, hot fudge swirl… He gets sick off the stuff easily though, so even though he loves it, self control is everything

Lily: vanilla bean with strawberry topping and cheese cake bites! He loves fresh strawberries in his desserts, and often he and Misono will trade bites if they’re getting flavor fatigue. Also very rich but the strawberry helps cuts through the sweetness

Tetsu: a Basic Boi who loves GariGariKun the most. Prefers popsicles over dairy treats. Yeah technically this isn’t ice cream but like. It’s the taste of summer and after bath refreshments. I’m not taking that from him

Hugh: vanilla with hot fudge sauce (and/or blood). He still prefers his chocolate parfaits, or better yet for this scenario, a milkshake

Licht: yknow those ultra sweet cotton candy flavors? If it’s ice cream by itself, he loves that. But if it’s a float, it’s gotta be vanilla in melon soda. If you take him to marble slab or similar place that lets you mix in a bunch of toppings, he will make a beeline for the gummy bears. Gets disappointed every time that they turn hard and unpleasant to eat, even though he already knows the outcome

Lawless: he has two favorites. Coffee bean (distinct from just plain coffee flavor) and moose tracks. I’m not sure what that’s called in other places? Basically it’s vanilla with peanut butter cups and fudge. Only goes for this when he’s depressed, if I’m honest. Otherwise it’s too sweet.

Mikuni: haagen daz amaretto almond crunch and their hojicha latte flavor. Forever sad that the former was limited edition and doesn’t make seasonal returns. It was absolutely perfect for his and jeje’s terrible Netflix movie nights (with the occasional appearance by johannes so they could make fun of the bad science together)

Jeje: since Mikuni only buys haagen daz (spoiled pretentious shit) he’s grateful they a rich pumpkin flavor that becomes available during autumn. He also really likes horchata milkshakes for the comforting taste of cinnamon.

Iduna: Tried butter pecan once and was hooked. The crunchiness of the pecans is her favorite part. It’s her go to for when Haagen Daz Creamy Vanilla Pudding flavor isn’t in season. Back home, though, it’s got to be the rather… Unique. Salty licorice flavor. She gave some to shuuhei one time just to watch him gag. She knows what she’s doing to that poor boy.

Freya: the simple freshness of strawberry ice cream is her guilty pleasure. She been thinking of making her own with an old hand churner. It would be fun, right? And it’s not like it would be difficult to get the ingredients she needs.

Nicco: Pistachio gelato, though he also enjoys the tartness and slight bitter aftertaste of limoncello flavor. He likes taking Ildio with him whenever there’s a new flavor he wants to try but isn’t sure he’ll like. Even if he doesn’t care for it, his servamp probably will. Does that make him mean?

Ildio: No preference as of yet. He’s still figuring this whole… Tasting your food thing out

Tsubaki: as expected, he loves matcha and red bean flavors. REALLY excited some of the Hagen daz hanamochi series is becoming a permanent flavor

Sakuya: rocky road. Sweet, crunchy, and a little bitter on the back end from the chocolate. Refuses to admit it but he also enjoys the hanamochi series. He’s stubborn. Whenever he wins a free popsicle he gives the stick to Mahiru, so inevitably when they hang out, that’s what he buys if they stop at the konbini, just for the chance to maybe earn some good boy points with his best friend and crush. And he thinks he’s subtle—

Once a Cacao Watcher at the Dark Cacao Kingdom, they faced off the Living Abyss, with only bow, and arrow, and now a cookie who was beached with no memory, until they met a captain of a ship they've never seen before, they were unable to respond when they were asked "What's your name?", they couldn't remember their name, all they remember is fighting off the Licorice Seas, and feeling pain from their eye from the living sea, after their situation was heard, the captain offered them a spot in his crew, and dubbing them as their new alias, and a sand dollar eyepatch that was given as a gift.

A swift, and tough at times cookie who is here to heal others when they are hurt or sick, but will not hesitate to defend herself, and her friends, especially with a sword, she used to travel the seas alone, until she found a crew that would take her in, she had not trust them at first, until she knew they were harmless, and more welcoming than she thought, and that she'd never travel by herself without help from her friends, as long as she has their backs.

Hey Niu, Nick here! 170 ice cream flavours?? What has been some of the best and worst you've had out of the list?

The worst (⊙x⊙;)

Raspberry-chili-salmiakki (salty licorice). It was scorching hot and burned so bad I couldn't finish it. I don't know how the hell it is still on the markets, like, who eats that shit????? The ONLY ice-cream ever which I have not finished.

Beer. Didn't taste anything, had a mild crop's aftertaste only.

Mudcake. A way too heavy for my taste!

Soft orange cake/Jaffa cake. It was also very sweet and heavy.

Champagne-Chocolate. Couldn't really taste the champagne in it, could have been just an ordinary chocolate ice-cream.

Plum-chocolate. The plum was overpowering and it tasted more like some weird plum bakery than ice-cream. Very heavy.

The best (*￣3￣)╭

Spruce. Really fresh and sweet with a bit similar taste to a pistachio ice-cream.

Milk. Very fresh, creamy and comforting taste.

Royal Milk Tea. Honestly, one of the best out there. Combines a bit of this earthiness of tea with creamy milk.

(German) Spekulatius Cookie. Tastes like good quality caramel ice-cream with soft seasoning of Christmas.

Matcha. You either love or hate this. Someone who hates this said that it tastes like just cut grass lol. I like it's strong flavor.

Purple potato. Sounds weird but it's nicely earthy and sweet at the same time. Give it a try if you find any!

Tangerine-Yogurt-White chocolate. Tangerine makes such a wonderful ice-cream!

Cinnamonroll. Makes one of the best ice-creams out there.

Random Headcanons 5: Silent Salt

TW: Scarring, mentions of severe injuries, blood jam???

No ships (also they/them for my little sodium face)

Silent Salt is demiromantic and demisexual and NOBODY can change my mind about that

Scars are EVERYWHERE on their face from a lot of battles they had a while ago, making them somewhat blind in their left eye and completely blind in their right.

They once bled so much in a fight that their armor was stained for a WHILE

Their helmet is enchanted and helps them see, that's why they wear it all the time

Don't worry, they wash it when they're by a river or something

This mf looks scary, but their voice is so damn sweet and soft istg

And that's why they don't speak a lot to keep that brooding and strong look

But they're a softie at heart

ALSO

I have a feeling that their helmet can change form to some sort of masquerade mask for convenience's sake

Because that helmet is probably irritating to bring around at times

Salty little fellow when it comes to an old and embarrassing memory :(

They only take off their helmet around the ones they trust (Like the pre-Beast Cookies because all these headcanons were before they got imprisoned)

The flavors of people change based on who they are n stuff, so like, young Pete and now Pete have different flavors!

Blondie Pete (Pete now) is a citrus seltzer and a warm oatmeal cookie with dark chocolate chunks. Younger Pete is Cola, raspberries, and a hint of something bitter, but like a deep flavor; kind of like a chocolate but saltier; it’s something I can’t quite put my finger on. Patrick is like the Texas Roadhouse bread (shameful yeehaw from a Texas resident. If you’ve never had Texas Roadhouse, the bread is famously delicious and sweet and fluffy) with butter and a lavender tea. Andy is a sherbet with mint in it and a little metallic tang to it. Joe is a smokey steak, cherry juice, and carnival corndogs. Out of the boys, I’m torn between now-Pete and Joe for whose is my favorite. Pete’s reminds me of sunshine and warm spring and happy memories and just overall comfort and stuff, but Joe’s is strangely nostalgic.

As far as albums go, the different songs kinda taste different, but I can give an overall synopsis! :)

Take This to Your Grave tastes kinda like gunpowder, sweat, something lightly fragrant, like rain, bug juice (okay this sounds crazy but it’s this juice in a bottle from gas stations n stuff and it’s great, you should Google it lol), and a snickers bar. Despite those flavors sounding somewhat unpleasant, it’s oddly endearing and I love TTTYG! 6/10 flavor

From Under the Cork Tree tastes like bitter cherries, smarties, perfume, and wood. It’s probably one of the albums I have the least to say about flavor-wise, but it’s SO good and simple. This one has a more cohesive flavor pallet which makes it super pleasant to my senses. 9/10 flavor

Infinity On High tastes like dusty fabric, butter, summer rain, gummy bears, sawdust, and chicken noodle soup. Despite this being one of my favorite albums (behind Folie and SRAR) it has one of my least favorite flavor combinations. I can’t focus too hard on some of the tastes of the songs or it grosses me out, but MAN is it good to my ears. Very salty, very dingy. 4/10 flavor

Folie a Deux tastes like green tea, cleaning spray, cinnamon, honey, whiskey (only ever had it like once lmao), nachos, and dark chocolate. Don’t ask me why cleaning spray, that’s what “What a Catch, Donnie” tastes like to me :,) I LOVE YOU FOLIE!!! 7/10 flavor

Save Rock and Roll tastes like pop rocks, sand, milk, smoke, assorted fruit, wet dirt, something vaguely like nostalgic summers(?) (idk I can’t place it), beef, and sour patch kids. Weird combo, but it somehow works? It’s not quite unpleasant, but it’s not wholly enjoyable if that makes sense? Young volcanoes tastes good lol. 5/10 flavor

American Beauty/ American Psycho is one of my favorite tasting behind FUTCT. It tastes like sour punch straws, whoppers, apple juice, sweet tea, seawater, ballpark hotdogs, barbecue sauce, and blackberries. It tastes like going to a movie theatre and a cookout; it’s freakin delicious. There’s this overhang of hazy, deep flavor, while maintaining a sweet and tangy thing goin on. 9/10 flavor

MANIA tastes like dust, leather, cotton Candy, milkshake, wood, lemon seltzer water, vinegar, pistachios, and fruit snacks. It’s kinda like you dropped your food on the ground and ate it afterwards. I love MANIA, but why does it remind me of kindergarten daycare.. yuck… not a good taste, excluding Stay Frosty, Bishops Kinfe Trick, and Wilson. 2/10 flavor

I May update this post when So Much (for) Stardust is released, but as of right now, it tastes like licorice, pine, gunpowder, sprite, and cantaloupe! 5/10 flavor

I love the way that flavor connects me with things. These flavors also change from time to time, and I can’t ALWAYS taste it, but it’s kind of a neat party trick, eh? Once again, thank you so much for the question! This was really fun, and gave me a new appreciation for their music!! :)

Mixing sweet and savory spices

Lufasan cooking can be very plain, such as simple buckwheat panbreads consisting only of flour, milk or another liquid and salt, but there are also many dishes that have a large amount of seasoning, often mixing sweet and savory-aligned spices and flavors. Black pepper is often added to rich desserts to give it an extra kick and sharpness that prevent them from being just overly sweet. Sugar is often added to herbs and garlic, while spices like cinnamon as well as licorice frequently find their way into savory dishes.

Often, plain food is combined with flavorful ones to give a rounded taste. Particularly popular is slightly salty buckwheat porridge with sunflower seeds or less sweet, bready Juniper cookies with sweet cinnamon peanuts. Not American, but I've tried all of these, so here it goes:

candy corn: The waxiest, meh-est piece of sugar I've ever had the misfortune of putting in my mouth. For why, people? For why?

licorice: Don't mind the texture, can't get over the anise taste. It sticks around, too, and that's not a compliment...

peanut butter + chocolate: Yes. Gimme. Get that yummy in my tummy.

mint + chocolate: From an intellectual standpoint, I can understand why people like this, it's a contrast thing. From a subjective standpoint, no. Just no.

sour candies: The opposite of an acquired taste. Loved them as a kid. Couldn't be sour or sweet enough. Now my teeth PUCKER when I just LOOK at them. My tastebuds like red cabbage now, but no more sour candies. Mind blown.

Bonus round: caramel candies, both soft and hard: My teeth hate them, but the rest of me loves them. Caramel is one of the scents that help carry me across the cold, dark chasm of winter, together with their buddy-smells apple, cinnamon, and coffee. It's a total allrounder, too - goes with sweet (chocolate, cookies) or sour (apples) or bitter (coffee, dark chocolate) or salty (popcorn) or nutty (well, nuts).

I was curious about Finnish snacks and what could be ordered from Amazon, just for fun. Now I knew a popular snack/sweet in Finland is salty licorice, but my god! The number of vendors selling the stuff! For a few minutes I thought it was the only snack anyone wanted to sell. Eventually I did start seeing cookies and the like, but man was that wild to see.

Salmiakki is everywhere as a flavor :D The same way Japanese make everything matcha flavored lol.

You can order Finnish foods and snack internationally from Suomikauppa.fi My recommendation goes to Pantteri (Panther) Original candies.
