HOPE IS NOT A STRATEGY & CHAOS IS NOT HUSTLE
Disrupt, Pivot, Digital, Ideate, New Normal, Unprecedented, Hustle, Hope⊠just some Buzzwords of recent times! The words are good to use or should I say abuse today and I find a lot of founders of new businesses are struggling to cope up with the ambiguous environment.
âYou canât have a million-dollar dream with a minimum-wage work ethic.â Stephen C. Hogan said this better than I could have. Having discussions with start ups I am constantly observing the struggle of the leaders of the business going with the flow rather than setting themselves a clear strategy.
My pick (read rant) today is on two words â Hope and Hustle.
I do understand that organizations are more flat today and working in virtual environments gives everyone a bit more comfort at work. However businesses still need to function on key principles and need to have clear accountability tied to timelines. Even if you run an organization of 3 people the fact that its a organization you need to lay down clear OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and tie individual KPI aligned to them. Businesses cannot thrive in chaos of a love fest (all good people saying all good things!) and hope is never a strategy.
The other word I want to pick on is âHustleâ. Donât get me wrong, Hustle is a great word and it means to be the hardest worker in the room (my definition). However, running in random directions in the name of activity is not Hustle but Chaos. Hustle is focusing your energy is a specific direction and giving it your 200%. This goes back to the first pointâŠif you donât have clarity of direction you cannot hustle !
English is a great language and it unifies a lot of us across geographies and age groups by enabling communication however important thing to remember is, language is not really absolute but contextual and its not enough to use words or buzzwords but also get behind the meaning of those words in context.
Starting a business is not just knowing what you will do but also knowing and articulating what you wonât do !

Fearing war with Iran, Israel asks the United States to approve the sale of 25 F-15EX fighters soon

The consequences of the Israeli airstrike on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, Syria, on April 1Âș 2024, may mean that Israel defied an open war with Iran. Although it is militarily superior in the Middle East, and always has the support of the United States, the many fronts that Jews have to face make Israel need to prepare for various scenarios. One scenario to face the war with Iran and other Middle Eastern countries is to request the accelerated delivery of the purchase of 25 F-15EX fighters.
President Joe Biden's administration is considering whether to authorize the huge $18 billion arms transfer package to Israel, which includes the acquisition of dozens of F-15EX fighters along with weapons, three sources familiar with the matter said.
The sale of 25 Boeing F-15EX jets to Israel has been under review since the United States received a formal order in January 2023, one of the sources said. Accelerating the delivery of the planes was one of the main requests of the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, who visited Washington last week and held talks with those responsible ?? Americans, including National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
Seeing the escalation that is taking place in the Middle East, a source said that the U.S. is now considering accelerating the sale of F-15EX fighters to Israel. The Israeli Air Force also said it intends to double the number of orders in question.
The official Request Letter (LOR) for the purchase of the F-15EX fighters was sent by the Israeli Government to the U.S. Government last week. LOR is the first stage of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process. Indonesia had already submitted a LOR for the F-15EX acquisition plan. After sending the LOR, only then will the Agency for Cooperation for the Security of Defense (DSCA) disclose the information of the offer along with the value of the sale.
The Israeli Air Force wants 25 new F-15EX and, in parallel, will also upgrade 25 of its F-15I variants to the same avionic configuration as the F-15EX, except for the fly-by-wire system. The Israeli Air Force currently operates 50 F-15 A/B/C/D variants and 25 F-15I variants.
F-15I
When Israel made the decision to buy more F-15 and F-35, it was based on the assumption that in future combat scenarios the targets would be protected by advanced air defense systems. This would require the first wave of F-35 to neutralize the enemy's air defense systems and then the role of the F-15 to carry out subsequent attacks on enemy territory.
Although Israel has asked to speed up the acquisition of the F-15EX and Washington is considering doing so, on the other hand, it is not easy for Boeing to accelerate the production of the F-15EX, unless this is done through a 'change' in the production queue of the F-15EX (Eagle II) commissioned by the U.S. Air Force (USAF).

I agree with you on those Uncharted outings, but I think that some people forget that Tom and Z are extremely famous and their pics sell. We are not talking about Z-listers that have to do pap walks to get some visibility. Venetian paps knew that stars were coming to the Bulgari event, so they were on the look out. Tom and Z were papped consistently when they were filming FFH in the city too. The pap pics in the UK happened after locals had spotted them together. I don't think that photographing then while carrying dog poop bags and looking disheveled would be the preferred pr of anyone. Z got more exposure doing Coachella than going on a dog walk. It just seems to me that they are at a stage in their relationship where they are willing to try things even if people would take sneaky pics of them like holding hands in public or embracing each other. The Warriors game was not a random game of a sport they know nothing about like the hockey game: it's Z and her family's team playing a sport that has deep meaning for her family (her mom a college player and her dad a coach for decades, Z herself played as a kid), in a playoff game against one of the most storied teams led by the best player of the last 20 yrs that happens to have worked on 2 projects with Z. So this was a memorable experience. If Tom and Z really wanted a lot of exposure, they would have walked together that red carpet in India like Priyanka did with Nick, and an elegantly dressed Tom would have been her +1 to the Bulgari event
I think we agree, Anon. Like I said, I donât think publicity is their exclusive goal ever, but I think sometimes they know it may be coming and realize itâll work for them.
As for walking the red carpet separately in Indiaâthat was probably related to our theories about âour relationship is not for sale,â but idk in hindsight walking together vs separately is sort of a distinction without a difference. Look how it was coveredâ
At the end of the day, they each probably got more press because they were together. And press is good for celebrities even if the human Tom (and/or Zendaya) doesnât particularly like it. Iâm sure theyre probably drawing boundaries that make sense to them and that they can live with, but it is what it is. I donât think getting attention together is so horrible anyhow.
