this is saint venera!!!!!

her reflection is mech anime inspired with a side of religious themes wherein the pilots subjected to experimentation from childhood are referred to as “saints”

while normally magitek mecha are meant to be piloted by two people, pacific rim style, venera isn’t allowed to pilot with anyone else because her mental corruption levels are simply too high. and those that don’t go insane piloting with her are labeled as her “beloved” and, well, don’t last long either

despite being part of the saint program, she’s relentlessly bullied by her peers simply because of the fact it’s more dangerous to be neutral toward her than it is to be mean to her. this is because any act of simple human decency can ALSO get you labeled her “beloved” wherein you will be killed at some point or another

venera and aurel are so eva yuri it’s insane

we decided their first kiss - well, first real kiss since aurel lets venera kiss her whenever but it’s simply not dramatique enough - is after venera hijacks an enemy mech to assault aurel’s entire squad

the whole thing ends up as a flaming wreckage of mechs with aurel as the only survivor. she pulls her body from the wreckage and drags it to the wreckage of the “enemy” mech, pistol in hand, ready to finish this one way or another........ only to discover venera, and pulls her out by her hair, holds the barrel of the gun to her chin. it’s venera whimpering a pathetic string of apologies, sniveling and admitting that she just wanted to be the one to save aurel....... and aurel finds she cannot pull the trigger.

it’s venera’s soft lips timidly covering aurel’s, trembling, murmurs of apology still on her lips as aurel finally kisses back 😔

she suffers from passionlip syndrome in that she thinks she’s totally normal. she doesn’t understand why people are mean to her while simultaneously having 0 self-reflection to realize that she’ll start stalking the people she likes and doing absolutely deranged shit until she eventually kills them

the eye that’s covered she pulled out to give to one of her beloveds like a cat bringing home an unwanted dead mouse
