𓆩𓆪 "Mayonaka ni Kawashita Yakusoku" 𓆩𓆪
Buenos días, tardes, noches a todos!!! (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

(❁ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)

Hii, I'm back! Thought I'd do un update. So I listened to the albums you recommended, and then after that I listened to the entire Malice Mizer discography. Oopsies! I'm kind of obsessed now! They are SO good
I've got to say my favorite album has to be Bara no Seidou because OH MY GOD?????? That's what heaven sounds like. Genuinely may be one of my favorite albums of all time. And my favorite song was Seinaru toki eien no inori because I could feel my sould ascending listening to it, drove me crazy. This truly is vampire music, people weren't lying
I ended up doing rankings in my notes app of the songs in each album, the singles, the albums themselves and also just a ranking of my favorite songs in general but this ask is getting too long lol (It's not an exhaustive list as I started getting really tired of writing everything down by the last few songs so I didn't rank songs like Portugal and Lafflesia, though I did love those in case you were wondering)
There were a couple of songs that weren't my thing, but I ended up saving like 95% of the songs I listened to so I'd say that's a win lol So thanks for the recommendations, they really did help! I think I'm gonna go listen to Moi Dix Mois now because I've also always wanted to check them out^^
YIPPEE!!!!! i’m very glad you enjoyed most of the songs i recommended! plus, i won’t lie, when i saw this ask appear in my inbox, and actually started chanting “one of us”, because that’s just how it is.
i’d also be interested in hearing your rankings, if you’d feel comfortable sharing (but of course, no pressure).
as for mdm: i’m legitimately Insane about them (as my blog’s theme suggests) so i hope you enjoy them as well!! definitely a jump from malice as their primary genre is gothic metal, but i’d say you can tell they spawned from the same mind.

youtube

Malice Mizer was visual kei rock band active from August 1992 to December 2001. Formed by guitarists Mana and Közi, the band’s name is an abbreviation of “malice and misery”, extracted from “Nothing but a being of malice and misery.” Their music and themes were characterized by their strong French and classical influences, later moving away from deliberate French romanticism and incorporating Gothic aspects. Malice Mizer was as famous for their music and for their live shows, historical costumes and stage sets. The band has gone through several different lineups and three drastic image changes. We can part for 3 eras: 1992–1994: Tetsu era, 1995–1999: Gackt era and 2000–2001: Klaha era.

10 songs meme
Tagged by @fel-as-in-tumbld!
List ten songs you love, then maybe tag ten people. oh gosh i’m terrible at tagging
None of these are in order of preference, but I did have to think real hard to fill out the remaining spots since I don’t listen to much current stuff :’)
Shy'm - Je Sais - First saw this music video when I touched down in the Charles de Gaulle airport in 2010 for my first trip overseas (a month study abroad in Strasbourg). I liked it immediately. I’m also pretty gay.
Közi - Honey Vanity - I’ve named so many iPods and phones after this song. The lyrics are kind of a mix of uplifting and depressing, but paired with the upbeat bossa nova track makes this a huge life #mood
ShrubRustle - No Healing in Wonderland - Ohhhhh my god, oh my GOD y’all. This is a medley of some The Adventure Zone music and I could listen to it all day.
Raphael - Lost Graduation - Another formative song from my high school years. I loved this band so much.
Malice Mizer - Saikai to Chi no Bara - #5 on the list but #1 in my life, I love Malice Mizer so very much, and this instrumental of theirs just hits all my favorite spots.
Blue Man Group - Rods and Cones - I saw the Blue Man Group in concert when I was 9 and immediately wanted to be one of them. Unfortunately I am very petite and not a drummer. But this song was my absolute favorite for years.
Hora - Carpe Diem - SEIZE THE DAY this song puts me in such a good mood.
Schwarz Stein - Rise to Heaven - A song of rebirth and letting go those who’ve harmed you, healing from the wounds. I don’t think I fully appreciated this song back in high school, but something held on.
Yuki Kajiura - Cyber Slum - yES I know it’s from .hack//, I’m grasping at this point of the list, but the violins are SO GOOD.
Weeping Willows - Touch Me - the video is made up of scenes from John Carpenter’s “Cigarette Burns”, and is NSFW - I must have heard this through a mix on 8tracks, as I have no idea what the band has done otherwise; but I love singing along
Tagging: I’m so bad at this, sorry, please play along if you want!! And then tag me back
