aha okay! thank you! i've never heard of memrise before but i will definitely check it out! what's your username there? and do you prefer it to duolingo? ♡

my username there is sagittariusmercury 💞 and yes i definitely do! honestly i’m not the biggest fan of duolingo?? i think it’s great in many ways don’t get me wrong!! but for me it’s not the ideal learning method, the vocab usually isn’t *super* relevant to me and the grammar never seems to go in depth enough 😭 lately i’ve started learning languages mainly via memorizing huge amounts of vocab via memrise frequency lists, sometimes flashcards but memrise is mostly my lifeline (ie: 500 most common french words, etc type of courses on memrise!) 

since you can understand a huge majority/almost all of daily language usually by only knowing i think like 3k? of the most common words!! but even knowing 500-1000 will have you quite conversational and able to read bite-sized things!! for me and my scattered sag mercury i need language learning methods that give quick results so that’s why i like doing this!! cause i can form sentences and understand things faster :’) && then along with vocab memorization (mostly memrise, sometimes my own flashcards with anki/other flashcards) i study grammar from various sites that go more in depth!! (this method might not working for everyone ajlkfdjfd it just works best for my brain!! i also write a lot of journal entries and stories in my target languages for practice and watch shows/youtube vlogs/tiktoks in those languages to build vocab) 🥰 

but anyway tl;dr i definitely rec memrise!!!! it has saved my ass!!!!!!!!!!
