I have unfortunately dipped my baby self sideways (, not exactly head first but still,) into the Mandela Catalogue ARG. This lead to me thinking about if the imposter in the SAGAO Imposter!AU is truly perfect.

There are a few categories, classifications if you will, on how perfect the beings can fake your appearance and voice. The personalities will always be off, but in the SAGAO Genshin Cult!AU, it is very likely that the followers blindly trust them because they don’t act like normal humans of Teyvat. Or, they are in denial of mistaking the Imposter as the real deal, who is you, now staying with Aloy after the numerous manhunts.

In a way, the imposter’s imperfections could mirror the Albedo event’s story. The level of perfection also affects the story and how long the cult takes to snap back to the stark cold truth, the bone-chilling horror of them realising what their denial of you entails.

The reactions from the children of Teyvat also seems like an interesting topic. Children are easily gaslit from their gullible nature, due to lack of experience and knowledge. On the other hand, they have the strongest ties to the supernatural, as well as the most trustable intuition. I had known that a relative would die soon and it had unfortunately become the truth soon after, and I had had dreams that cause in-real-life deja vu. Maybe, we can assume that one of the children are being sent dreams from Teyvat to aid us, the true deity. Or, siblings can suspect and figure out if the person their country is praising feels like the true God. Siblings are more likely to share secrets and genuinely work together for the same cause, in a way that adults would shy away from to keep their name safe from accusations of sacrilege.

Most of us know in the SAGAO Imposter sub-AU, the imposter is essentially a near-perfect fake.

Now, what if the Imposter was even better than a perfect replica in the first place?

If you are familiar with the SCP Universe, you might have heard of SCP-056. This anomaly can essentially become an advanced, improved version of the subject it’s replicating in terms of physical attractiveness, charm, strength, precision, et cetera.

In most Imposter!AU works, the imposter has the advantage of knowing most things about us, the true God!Reader, in advance. If the imposter is a kin of SCP-056, they will be able to perfect their personality other than true instant physical superiority, and be the Ultimate Imposter. The only weakness it would have is their inner insecurities. If it aims to be an exact replica other than having stronger powers, it can easily fit the loosely-based description of the actual God!Reader, and by the time the reader has arrived/returned, they are seen as the imposter and chased away instead. The true God!Reader will also not be able to fight the imposter, even putting aside the power imbalance, since we are relatively new to the ordeals and environment. They have every backup and advantage over the true God!Reader, if you don’t count the uncontrollable sentient spirit of Teyvat.

On the mental side, it would be even more devastating and dangerous if the reader already has an inferiority complex. The SCP itself preys on that natural mentality, so if the issues are already prominently underlying, it could make the manipulation even easier. It could possibly result in more than the reader’s safety being in danger. Fortunately, the spirit of Teyvat should be able to intervene and aid us in time.

Ningguang, Qiqi, Noelle, Barbara, Diona, Sayu, Jean, Lisa

Mentions of the healers, positive assurances, and Jeanlisa mothering the kids from sneaking out to your room.

Imagine Ningguang’s surprise when she finds you sick when she finally returns from her tiring day of work.

You were as red as a tomato, muttering unintelligibly in your sleep. You flip and move around as you sleep, sometimes trembling, even. She’d consider ‘passing-out’ as a better word for your current situation, rather than ‘proper sleep’. Your skin feels hot to the touch as she places her fingertips on your arm. Hm.

After asking the resident healers, she returns to take care of you. She isn’t usually the type to wait next to another as a caretaker, but her mind immediately softens when it comes to you.

You’re her wonderful Creator, the kind deity who has blessed Liyue and her career. You’ve been treating all of them nicely, even if you could have acted high-and-mighty with your power and status. It touched her heart, not that she’d be open about this fact.

So she made a geo couch next to you, so she can watch over you and make sure your sickness is tended to. Maybe she’ll stay the night for your recovery.

As Yaoyao, the little Liyuean disciple of Ganyu, brings in a clean bucket of water and towels, Ningguang pats her head in thanks, and takes off her fingerguards to rinse a towel. She leans over to set it on your scorching forehead.

As she leans nearer to place the cooling fabric on you, she hears you mutter her name and tug on her sleeve with your eyes shut and clenched in pain. Surprised, she gingerly adjusts you and brushes your hair away from your mouth, to listen to what you’re trying to say.

“Would you forgive me if I’m not what you thought I was?” She deciphered your sleepwalking into this sentence. Granted, she could be wrong, with the slurred speech and occasional lower volumes. It still alerts her with worry.

What do you mean? Do you mean you’re not the Creator? Surely, you must be mistaken. They’ve verified your status through various means of research and background checking. Moreover, she’s been sending her connections to dig for information about you and the Creator, to find the two the same person. The cult’s all seen your powers first-handedly.

Her brows knit as your facial expressions become downcast and doleful.

“Whaifi…mnoggodenuf…” you mutter, clearly still in a deep sickness-induced sleep.

Oh.

Something clicked in Ningguang’s brain.

It could be the inferiority complex she’s seen in numerous Qixing staff.

Her brain connects your guilt-filled musings to the previous occasions, where you were silent while the others praised your glory and worshipped you on their knees. Ganyu had come to her to discuss whether they did wrong to make you uncomfortable, after you returned to your room privately. It seems that they had the right idea and noticed the social cues early on. You had sat rigidly and seldom acted ‘out of place’, but it was forced.

She wonders why you feel less powerful than your cult sees you as. Maybe it’s the same experience she has, as the Tianquan whom everyone looks up to, and being the brunt of the highest of expectations.

Her heart melts when you tug her sleeve once more and voluntarily turn your asleep body towards her. You trust and find comfort in her presence, as she and the others do in yours. Although not being very trusting while awake. She hadn’t been expecting that, but she’s more than grateful for this.

Ningguang slowly lowers to sit on your be. Then, she holds your hand as you fade back into unconsciousness. She decides not to wake you, nor to question you when you do eventually wake up. She’s picked up ways to interact with people to her advantage, and she knows it’ll make you uncomfortable. The fact that you never told them, hints at that quite clearly.

When you wake up, and the fever goes away, you get pampered and subtly reassured more frequently by Ningguang. When you ask why, she simply smiles and says that you deserve good things. Her eyes hold that rare genuine glow. She will only collect more information behind the scenes to learn more about how she should act and treat you, in a way to make you feel better. She doesn’t overly praise you like the others, and you find it easier to be closer to her.

You never knew she heard you sleeptalk, until you brought up your habit of doing that and whether she’d heard you doing that. She doesn’t lie, and replies that you do mutter your non-cohesive thoughts. She wouldn’t admit the exact things she hears though, as she knows it’ll make your relationship awkward. Just know that she’ll keep your secrets.

Perhaps, she’ll stay near you as you sleep more often, partly to find out more about what goes on inside your brain, somewhat because she’s grown more fond of you as a companion—a superior, powerful deity, but an affectionate one.

Your aura does fluctuate when you’re sick though, and she would have to return to her chambers whenever it starts giving her ‘seasickness’. When that happens, she rests and comes back to tend to you when needed.

The caretakers would stand in when needed, as well as Qiqi. Qiqi’s healing is effective, but since she’s a child, Noelle and Barbara would step in, one to pry her away, one to heal in her place. Diona and Sayu were about to sneak over to heal you as well, but they were caught on baby cameras by Jean and Lisa. In a way, it’s good that the children are protected away from the potentially threatening aura discordances. Ningguang and a select few built up their tolerance of it, and thus stay longer when needed/approved.

SAGAO AU Work 4 - Injuries, angst

Tw: abuse from yanderes, trauma, betrayal

I may have been showing the morale-boosting/fluffier parts, but I think it’s time to show you the alternative. Of how you could have suffered in another direction, both physically and mentally, because of your unhealthy cult following.

They were extremely abusive to you, to someone who’s mistaken as an imposter of their wonderful Creator.

All the characters were aiming to kill you, before the Archons decreed to capture you alive, for public humiliation and mutilation. Not only the ones you raised as companion, but also the non-playable characters. Only a few had clear enough minds, to consider that you might be innocent as you say. Not that they’d have the political or physical power to save you.

Consider this: you were already bloody, all bruised over, and nearly crippled from the shock. Of the betrayal. Some pretended to be your ally, just to turn you in. You barely escaped with your life intact. Through your overseeing abilities, you can see your remaining hp corroding. You have but last few drops of life force in you.

It’s lucky that the world of Teyvat is responding to you, offering temporary solaces from the bosses and hilichurls. They attempt to heal you, and feed you. You didn’t expect the non-humanoid creatures to care that much, and you reconsider your (perhaps misplaced) loyalty to the playable characters.

Yes, you’re benevolent in nature, but the human civilisations of Teyvat has only been taking more and more from you, desiring to harm you as much as you try to lead/protect them in the past. You have never had to sustain your lifeforce by sheer will and support from other old ‘enemies’. Nor had you expected the human authorities to hurt you with your resources.

The gashes might heal, but not your mind. Not that swift, unfortunately. You got captured and tortured for way more times than you could on your own. The hilichurls had done everything in their power to fight and distract the military for your escape. The elemental spirits heal you and give you ‘hugs’. They fight when you have fallen and near losing consciousness.

The mental scars cut deeper than you’d imagine coming from your ‘friends’. Every waking hour covers you in a suffocating canopy of nightmares. Flashbacks of them using mechanical devices and elemental visions to burn you. Sear your skin, stab you, make you pay for not being who they have been waiting for. Their attempts to break into your psyche. Their eagerness to ‘make an example’ out of you for their Lord. To make you suffer so much, that your already mentally unstabilised mind is chasing after suicide. Death. A merciful release is what you mistook death as. You were desperate.

Even if you get to return to complete safety, you would have severe insomnia, ptsd, selective amnesia, trust issues, and tons of scars (inside and outside) to tend to. Much less having to muster up the courage to not be hateful, not to misuse your powers to wreak holy distraction on those who hath wronged You. To be hopeful and guide them back on the ‘righteous’ path. You’re tempted to do the opposite. To kill the world itself by removing you, the world’s stabiliser, from the equation.

But you have to survive, carry on, for the hilichurls and elemental powers that sacrificed more than they could to save you. To live in their stead.

At last, your well-intentions saved Teyvat, but all the damage and weight is crushed onto your frail body. You feel hollow even if they repent and tend to your flinching shell. They ask for you to control, possess their vessels for your warmth, while they chill your heart.

No one said being a god/goddess was good for the deity themselves. Not for you. But for the undeserving. Those who hurt you. Scarred you.

You can only hope to one day, be able to control your cult as to limit their assaults to the creatures who extended a helping hand to you, at your pleading moments. To rein their yandere-characterised destruction in, to suffer in place of the innocents.

You live the nightmare, waking or unconscious, so the others can sleep at ease. You exist to protect and love. To forgive, as exhausting it is to your drying-up, once-generous fountain of kindness.

Everyone tries to kill you, mistaking your empathic approaches as behaviour of an imposter of their creator. Jokes on them though, you’re starting to get a hold of this, albeit being confused and afraid. Not to mention that you were the real deal from the beginning.

The other archons came to Inazuma for your public execution as well.

“Hello heathens. Miss me? A shame that I’m still here. I expected better from y’all. Also, it’s very homophobic of you, I’m in the alphabet mafia, you know?” You joke sarcastically. “Aight now, are you going to finish the job? You did go through with kidnapping me after all.” You grin, but the coldness in your eyes say otherwise. It chills Venti’s heart. It feels as if both his and your hearts are replaced by glaciers in Dragonspine.

“How dare you impersonate our god and use their voice for such insolence!” Zhongli, the ever strict rocc, is being the same hard arse as he has been the last time you’ve seen him. He gripped his polearm so hard you could sense it on the brink of breaking. The other previous companions lower their heads in guilt. You were about to try reasoning before you caught your own tongue, remembering that he’s stubborn and not listening.

“If you’re mad, I’m doing it right. Thanks, y’all traumatised me and humour is my coping mechanism. This is treason, but okay pop off archons. Yassss.” You droned, tone as dead as your once hopeful heart. You’re more pissed off that they broke your hand. You needed that for work. And for your hobby/ies. Not that you’ll get to do it anyway.

“I beg your pardon?” Raiden Shogun demanded, as her thunder cracked. Multiple bolts land right next to where your body was tied up (on a pole like you’re Jesus- or a martyr). “I said, it’s treason. And yes I’m making you all mad because nothing else made you all use a fraction of a braincells to reconsider that:

I was testing you.”

While you had been stalling for your life and for the returning of your overriding power, you are starting to get the gist of how you should’ve been acting. Like a proper diety.

You feel your inner strength temporarily return. Under their horrified gazes, your demeanour does an 180-degree turn, like the Unknown God. Except that you are superior to her. Too bad your powers aren’t fully back.

Hm. Intimidation would have to work until then.

“Insolent followers. Binding my body does not bind my soul.” Your godly aura stun them - the same aura they had all experienced from the Creator. You refrain from anything else, but it’s time you get the credit and respect you should have been using from the start.

Oh boy, did they mess up royally. They’re lucky that you’re feeling merciful and emotionally attached.

Similar to the SAGAO Digimon Companion sub-AU, you have a pet accompanying you as you are transported to the Genshin Universe. Except this time, you get more friends/pets!

When you and the two friendly serotonin friends land on Teyvat’s lands, the initial suspicion on your identity is completely wiped by SCP-999’s wholesome abilities.

If you are unfamiliar with SCP-999’s lore, it has a similar but more intense aura that amplifies positive emotions, further strengthened by physical contacts. An invulnerable ‘good boi’ that acts similarly to Guoba. As for SCP-131, it’s a pair of floating Pokémon-looking eye pods. These orange-and-yellow pair of orbs are friendly to all humans the same way SCP-999 is, and they have the bonus ability to alarm you while being your surveillance pets.

With the help of these SC(om)P(anion)s’ abilities, paired with your natural aura, you shall be 100% safe, if not already trusted by the mortals of this world.

In the normal SAGAO AU, where you would already be welcomed, you may receive greater/swifter compliance from any folks harbouring doubt of your identity. Once you tour and meet most people, your cult will only grow, both in numbers and in loyalty to you, their deity. Your companions get to be worshipped too, so that’s nice! Your booster-like aura gets buffed by the jello, while your pair of floating orbs add extra defence on your turf. Peace and near-guaranteed safety shall follow your traversing feet.

In the Imposter!AU, when if you weren’t on sufficient guard, either the orange jello pacifies the crowd, or the orbs’ helicopter surveillances, would keep you alive. You get to focus on foraging for food, cooking, as well as putting together shelters for you four (1 god, 1 jello, and 2 orbs). The imposter’s following will diminish; as your party’s connection with Teyvat strengthens and the bond boosts all four of your auras. The stronger your auras become, the stronger your abilities and unlocked talents become. As long as your three companions stick with you, you are guaranteed justice and the worship you deserve.

In a nutshell, grab your three local wholesome SCP companions before you enter Teyvat’s one-way portal! Even a god can feel lonely otherwise. So bring these three adorable creatures as your trusty, affectionate and protective journey-companions!

The personalities will always be off, but in the SAGAO Genshin Cult!AU, it is very likely that the followers blindly trust them because they don’t act like normal humans of Teyvat. Or, they are in denial of mistaking the Imposter as the real deal, who is you, now staying with Aloy after the numerous manhunts.

In a way, the imposter’s imperfections could mirror the Albedo event’s story. The level of perfection also affects the story and how long the cult takes to snap back to the stark cold truth, the bone-chilling horror of them realising what their denial of you entails.

The reactions from the children of Teyvat also seems like an interesting topic. Children are easily gaslit from their gullible nature, due to lack of experience and knowledge. On the other hand, they have the strongest ties to the supernatural, as well as the most trustable intuition. I had known that a relative would die soon and it had unfortunately become the truth soon after, and I had had dreams that cause in-real-life deja vu. Maybe, we can assume that one of the children are being sent dreams from Teyvat to aid us, the true deity. Or, siblings can suspect and figure out if the person their country is praising feels like the true God. Siblings are more likely to share secrets and genuinely work together for the same cause, in a way that adults would shy away from to keep their name safe from accusations of sacrilege.

Yes, and I can see something like Teyvat glitching and malfunctioning, essentially sending the world and it’s habitants into an overdrive. Their lives and normality now depend on the Randomly-Generated Fun Value/Number.

There is no way for the unaware to prevent the sudden changes in their now twisted close ones. And the fact that even the un-possessed are randomly thrown into an alternate-looking vessel, makes it even harder for the unaffected to distinguish the merely deformed and the threatening Alternates.

At this point Teyvat’s civilisations are crumbling and society in boiling chaos, and the unpossessed essentially make the Alternate Apocalypse worse. The fear is increased and the number of victims are growing.

According the MandCat canon, the police are not allowed to help or fight, and have to fake-comfort the victim. It makes the governments seem untrustworthy to those living in undeserved tragedies.
