going a bit insane thinking about how jared said “sam doesn’t use his brawn and size to save the day but he wants to restrain that power” and how there’s so many canon examples. how sam usually tries to be smaller and less intimidating because he doesn’t want to scare people who are not monsters and especially how he makes himself smaller when dean manhandles him or hugs him. sam has spent his whole life feeling like a freak and his very body makes him stand out. it’s almost like he doesn’t want to be in his body. his body only reaches it’s full potential when there’s someone else in it: the way possessed sam uses his body is the complete opposite of unpossessed sam’s body language. the way meg!sam uses his body strength to his advantage. the way lucifer!sam straightens. but sam wants to be in a smaller, softer, less intimidating body. he doesn’t want to catch people’s eyes. he wants to be small and unassuming and above all safe

Like imagine how much Dean must love that little prick. Dean sitting at motel tables, watching Sam draw with Crayon's he swiped somewhere from school while he does his homework. Dean showing Sam how to write, working on a science project with him.

Dean stops paying attention at school when Sam's grades got better than his. Not because he was jealous but because if Sam could fend for himself at school, there was no reason for him to continue. Sometimes Sam would practice Presentations in front of Dean, sometimes Sam would shove his spanish book into his hands and made Dean test him.

Dean stealing and working odd-jobs to save up for Sam's school trips. Hunting with Dad because he made excuses for Sam so that he could study for his exams.

kripke era wincest does have that gothic horror vibe, the weirdness and the sexual tension that doesn’t exist in their post kripke dynamic so i think as a shipper that’s part of why i don’t really consider post s5 spn as canon. also swan song is a good ending that makes perfect sense narratively idc what anyone says
