I stayed up reading X male! reader story on Quotev last night. Cringe but indulging. How about you?
#Ah#it takes me back to 2019.. Back when I'm bored as shit and slightly questioning myself as I read those stories with pictures of anime boys#i used to enjoy reading yandere x reader stories like watching a horror movie and root for the reader to survive like NO DON'T GO THERE#and there's some angsty fluff fantasy stories which i adore and changed my braincells in ways you don't understand#and then enjoying those quizzes. mostly those specific fantasy detailed quizzes and that changed me a lot.#i had those bookmarked for inspiration but sadly the old laptop doesn't work anymore and i couldn't find the authors of those many quizzes#quotev you are something else there.. really something else#bird rambles#non fandom

the spine of his old leather-bound book was bound to break at any given moment, gaze focused on the pages— weathered, bearing the weight of centuries' worth of knowledge and history. the clicking of heels is faint, not an eye glances towards the hallway until the familiar voice of his sister echoes through the room. abruptly drawing his eyes away from the text, an eyebrow raises— what do you want?
@fevrals, rebekah: ❝ it's no business of mine how you waste your time, ❞ the words are dismissive as she leans against the doorway, elijah sensing a touch of irritation lingering in the air as he notes her expression— skepticism.
closing the book with a gentle thud, five papers scattering onto the flooring, his piercing brown eyes fixate on the blonde. a subtle challenge? he knows it's a prod to discover the purpose behind his latest endeavor, enough for him to indulge momentarily. a composed demeanor spreading across features, he responds, amusement resting on the tip of his tongue. ❝ dear sister, while i appreciate your disinterest in my affairs, i assure you this is no mere waste of time. ❞ stepping away from the desk, he closes the distance between them— his own challenge. elijah's presence exudes an air of authority, his posture radiating both grace and persistent resolve.
regarding rebekah with a gentle smile, it's an attempt to invite her to see beyond the initial judgment. [have faith, sister.] ❝ knowledge is the very essence of what makes us who we are. it is through understanding our past that we can shape our future. ❞ a thousand years of life and he still seeks wisdom, a questionable choice.

The Devil Made Me Do It | Arcane | Silco x Reader | Chapter Ten
available on AO3 and Quotev | visit the first tag for other chapters | warnings: very brief mention of blood, profanity, smoking
summary:
In the midst of an unfortunate run-in with the enforcers, you meet the young revolutionary Silco, and by extension, his friends Vander and Felicia. Growing close friends, you get through life in the undercity together, determined to make Zaun a better place. Until tragedy strikes, and betrayal and carelessness stabs hard enough to turn you bitter. Years later as time solidifies the scars, Silco proves to be a thorn in your side. You, in his. Hatred festers. And your world cracks further open.
Chapter Ten:
You tugged your black top, which had ridden up your midriff, back down towards your belt as you stormed into the Last Drop, shoving patrons as you passed through the crowd. Sevika was at a table, ashtray half-full and glass half empty.
Scowling, you grabbed her arm, the one concealed by her cloak. Your hand made contact with metal through the fabric.
She stared at you. “[name],” she said flatly. You snatched your hand away, balling it into a fist.
“Tell me-“ you stabbed a finger at her chest, “there’s been men at my doorstep at least three times this week.”
She scoffed. “Probably because you run a brothel.”
“You know that’s not what I mean,” you hissed. She stared at you, a frown carving a notch into her forehead, before nodding at her tablemates. Slamming her palms onto the surface a little too hard she slowly heaved herself up.
“Let’s talk somewhere else,” she said.
You watched as she went to a corner, nodding at a door. You stared at her incredulously.
“Go in there with you?” You yelled over the din. “You must be insane.”
She groaned, and within moments you were both standing outside.
“You look real different, dressed like a normal person.” She nodded at your toned-down appearance. You scowled, flicking a hair out of your face. “Almost didn’t recognise you.”
“Whatever.” You took out a cigarette, rolling it between your fingers between placing it in between your lips. You’d dropped any efforts to keep up your beguiling, siren-like facade around Sevika- there was no point. You flicked open your lighter, palm shielding the flame.
“So what’s all this about men outside the brothel?”
“They’ve been heckling my girls. And guys,” you added. “I assumed they had something to do with your- boss, considering the fact I have something he wants.”
You couldn’t bring yourself to say his name, now that someone was actually listening.
Sevika must have taken notice of this, because her lips twitched. But she didn’t mention it. “You know, you look a lot like when we were younger. Before everything went to shit.”
“Did he send them?” Your voice was stone cold and hard. Sevika scowled at this.
“Of course he fucking didn’t. You think he’d stoop that low? I thought you knew him.”
You took a deep drag on your cigarette, not meeting her eyes as you exhaled. Your leg threatened to bounce with well-concealed anxiety. “Well, I don’t now. I want these bastards dealt with.”
Sevika crossed her arms. “Since when do I have to deal with your problems? Last I checked, it’s not you I’m working for.”
You scowled. “Well, something’s telling me that this is gonna be your problem soon enough,” you snapped. “Considering the fact that they’re looking for your boss.”
She paused. “Wait, what?”
“They keep bugging us about him. No idea why us,” you sneered, “because I’d rather shoot myself in the foot than be associated with you or his people, but sadly that’s the case. So hurry up and fix this before I send them your way for good.” You pushed the cigarette into her chest. “Enjoy, errand-girl.”
And with that you turned around and stalked off, pulling your coat around you as your brisk steps carried you away from the Last Drop. Breath misting in the air, you turned to look at Sevika. But all you saw was the door swinging shut as she disappeared back into the bar.
-
You hurried back into the brothel, a gust of warm air enveloping you in a snug, cozy embrace. Immediately the feeling was quenched as you turned and saw a girl with big glassy eyes and mousy brown hair looking up at you, arms outstretched.
You gingerly shrugged off your coat and dumped it in her hands. She followed you to your office, hovering anxiously around the beaded curtains.
“What is it?” You sounded miffed.
“Your coat, Madam. I was instructed to leave it in your office.”
“Then why’d you make me take it off?”
But nonetheless, you beckoned for her to come in. She placed it on a hook in the corner, and you curled your finger, calling her forwards. A cigarette dangling from your bottom lip, you placed something in her soft palm.
She unfurled her fingers. “Do you know what that is?” She shook her head.
You took it back from her, flicked it open, and pushed down. Flame erupted from the lighter, illuminating a freckle on her face. Her eyes widened and she shuffled back.
“Don’t be afraid,” you said, snapping it shut. You gently but firmly took hold of her wrist, tugging it forward and pushing it back into her hand. You leaned back, arm slung across the back of the couch, and gestured to your cigarette.
She leaned over the armrest and, with a trembling thumb, pushed down as you’d shown her. The flame jumped a little too close to your face and you moved your head back, eyes widening, as she hurriedly snapped it shut.
She froze, waiting for a reprimand. But you didn’t say anything, just sucked on the cigarette and smiled at her, eyes looking at her without turning your face. You tipped your head back and let the smoke curl in the air.
“Hand-eye coordination needs some work,” you commented. She nodded.
“Yes, Madam.”
“What’s your name?”
“Alice-“
Your eyes widened, chest tightening.
“-son.”
You blinked. “What?”
“Allison,” she repeated timidly. You were shaking, she noticed, and took a quick step back.
Chewing on your lip, your eyes crawled across her face desperately. She looked…
Scared.
You could taste blood on your tongue. You released your bloodied lip from between your teeth, then soothed it with your tongue.
This girl is not Alice, you reminded yourself.
“You look tired,” you remarked, relaxing. “Have you been getting a good night’s sleep?”
“No,” she admitted silently. You tilted your head, raising an eyebrow. “The mattresses are hard,” she said regretfully. “Not that I’m complaining, Madam,” she added hastily.
You chuckled. “No, please. Feel free to complain.”
She couldn’t tell if you were being sarcastic or not, as you patted the spot on the couch next to you. She clambered onto the cushions obediently.
You took another thoughtful drag, then blew out the smoke, cigarette poised in between your fingers as you leaned into Allison.
“Will I tell you something important?”
She nodded, eyes wide.
“I used to have a daughter just like you.” You looked the girl up and down. “Same age, same eyes, same hair. Almost the same name.”
Allison knotted her little fingers together in her lap, looking up at you in wonder as you smoked some more.
“But she died.” Your tone was flat.
Allison recoiled. “Killed by enforcers,” you continued. You looked at the little girl, silently staring at her.
Then you sighed.
“You can sleep on the couch tonight, if you want. A welcome change from the mattresses.” You leaned forward and stubbed out the cigarette on the ashtray that lay on the table, next to the long-wilted rose, and rubbed the bridge of your nose. “I’d have them changed if they weren’t the best we could afford in Zaun. Piltie bastards are probably sleeping well into the afternoon.”
She didn’t say anything.
“My bedroom is that door,” you told her, pointing to a door next to a bookshelf. “The office locks from the inside.”
“This is too generous, Madam,” Allison whispered.
You scoffed. “Not at all. You’ll have a job, you know.”
Allison looked up expectantly, and you stumbled around your words to find an excuse. “Uhh… clean up the office every now and then. And lock it once I go to bed.”
Allison smiled. “Alright.”
“And if I have anything else that needs tending to then expect the responsibility to fall to you, in the case that you’re able for such tasks.”
Allison nodded, bowing her head. “Yes, Madam.”
You flicked your hand at her. “Right, now… go away.”
Allison scuttled away into the front entrance of the brothel, cutting across and eventually disappearing into another narrow hallway. You followed after her, looking around. Beads, lanterns, curtains. Sickly sweet incense, mist swirling across the floor. A new client had just passed in through the doorway. She was looking behind herself nervously as she hurried in.
You silently watched her from the spot in the corner you’d chosen to lean on, obscured by the sheer fabric draped across the ceiling. She disappeared hand in hand with one of your men, and a tall, broad figure stepped into view.
Sevika.
You brushed the sheer drapes as you emerged, mist coiling around your feet as you walked.
“I thought we already spoke today,” you said steadily, expression even as you studied her face.
“What if I came here for your services?” She sounded amused.
“You don’t look like it. Hurry up, tell me what it is.”
Sevika squared her shoulders, gaze roving around the all-took familiar room. It eventually settled back on your face.
“He wants a meeting with you.”
“What?”
“You deaf?” She tilted her head. “He wants to meet with you in his office. Tomorrow night.”
“No.” Your response was fast.
You couldn’t face him. You’d rather never speak to him face to face again- your last in-person interaction, despite years ago, had been quite fond and you knew that whatever version of him you’d meet if you went would simply take on the image of the man you used to know.
Sevika frowned at you. “Are you okay?”
You were breathing hard. “No, I’m not. Get out.”
She stepped towards you. “[name].”
“What’s it about?” You hissed. “I’ll talk to you. Come on.” You stepped towards your office.
For a moment, you thought Sevika would protest, but she simply followed you silently after a quick moment of hesitation. You shut the door properly.
“Sit down.”
“I think I’ll stand.” There was a glint in her eye you didn’t miss.
“It wasn’t a request.”
Sighing and rolling her shoulders back, she assumed her usual position on the couch.
You didn’t sit down, choosing to remain standing. You crossed your arms, leg shaking. “What’s the issue?”
“It’s the men. They’re here for, er, other people.”
“What?” She couldn’t be any less clear- your pounding head was beginning to grow fuzzy.
“You’re harbouring more wanted men and women than you think, or than you’d like to admit. We need to round them up, and finish them off,” she said steadily. You frowned at her.
“I’m not giving up innocent people,” you spat.
“Believe me, [name],” her voice was strained with exasperation. “They are far from innocent. Just hand them over, and this whole ordeal can be over. No more men at your door, no more Silco breathing down your neck.”
You took a deep breath, rubbing your face, considering her words.
“And I have your word that whatever happens to them next will be deserved, be it good or bad?” You asked quietly.
She was surprisingly solemn in her response. “You have my word.”
“Fine. I’ll round them up, and drop them off tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow night, the Last Drop. Ten o’clock.”
You scoffed. “Yeah, whatever you say. But-“ you held up your hand. “I want a trade.”
She stared at you. “What?”
You scowled. “You think I’ll just give away my men for free? I want something in return.”
She suppressed a groan. “And what might that be? Money? Shimmer?”
You bit your lip, thinking. “I need collateral.”
She stared at you blankly. “Well, we don’t have collateral.”
“Something I can hold over his head,” you ploughed on. She laughed.
“You know I’m right here, right? It’s my boss you’re scheming against.”
“I don’t give a flying fuck. Whatever, just- give me men in return.”
“Wh- men?”
“Employee for employee.” You’d fully regained your composure by now, and you adjusted the cuffs of your sleeves. “It’s only fair.”
She stared at you incredulously. “Well, who would you want?”
“I’ll take my pick when the time comes,” you hummed, waving her out. She scowled, flinging the door open. Hand still on the doorknob, she paused, twisting her head around.
“You’re a real piece of work, you know that?” She snarled.
You grinned. “So I’ve been told.”

hey, are you doing ok? I haven’t seen you posting anything in a really long time.
Hey guys! I know it's been ages since my last post 🫠 I started university this summer and the first semester went really well! I'm really happy with my current situation, and I'm about to start my second semester soon. So yes, I'm doing more than okay 💕
Sadly, university is taking up most of my time and I've currently lost interest in twst and writing in general (I probably won't be updating my quotev books anytime soon either)... so I'll be on a break!
Me losing interest in writing has happened before, and the motivation to pick up writing again often came back really out of nowhere 👀 I don't know what the future holds, but this isn't a permanent goodbye. For now, I'll be taking a break from Tumblr and writing
I want to take this opportunity to really thank you guys for your support and all the fun I had interacting with you here. I spent two years writing my heart out and chatting with you all — two years I'll never forget 💕💕

Please Cook Your Fish First
"The prefects find Y/n went fish hunting and is eating their fish raw(cuz they can’t cook it with ice-sadly)" Courtesy of- QUEEN Skippy on Quotev
This is gonna be sometime after the prefects have seen Y/N's dragon form, so there will be no surprised there.
The Prefect's POV
"Where is Y/N?" Riddle asked, annoyance lacing his voice. Y/N had contacted all the prefects to set up a meeting time because they wanted to spend time with all of them. They all agreed to meet near the entrance of the Botanical Garden, a place the prefects knew Y/N likes to frequent. But now that they had all gathered, even the lazy Leona, the reclusive Idia and the very excited Malleus, Y/N was no where to be seen. They tried waiting for about twenty minutes, but after that they all got worried.
"Child of Dragon's did say to meet at this time, correct?" Malleus checked, just to make sure they hadn't misunderstood the ice dragon.
Leona scoffed. "Of course, we have in down in text. They are the one who's late." He rolled his eyes while his ears twitched discretely, trying to listen for where the Lizard is. While Leona was trying to listen for Y/N, it was actually Malleus who heard something first.
"Was that...the sound of water splashing?" he paused to listen again. Everyone, hearing Malleus, stopped to listen as well. While none picked up on what the fae heard with his incredible hearing, they followed when he suddenly stood up and started walking into the wooded area behind the Botanical Garden.
When they reached a clearing, they spotted a lake. (There's no lake on NRC property canonically but there is now for the sake of this story) It's a decent sized lake, filled with murky water but also filled with fish and other lake-dwelling animals. Actually, not a lot of people acknowledge this lake since it's hidden behind the Botanical Garden, and few of the prefects have actually been here.
Malleus continued forward but stayed near the tree line, inciting the others to do the same. While they looked towards the lake, they all saw as a patch of the water right off the overgrown shore stirred. The water rippled violently. Something big was surfacing.
The surface of the water suddenly broke, and into the air hopped a dragon, white scales tinted blue and sharp spikes down it's back. The dragon landed on the shore almost gracefully, tail thrashing behind it.
"Y/N!" Kalim whispered excitedly. It's been quite a long time since he's last seen Y/N in their dragon form since they insist on not taking that form as often.
"Yes, Kalim, it is. But what were they doing down in the lake?" Azul asked. He's never been in the lake himself, preferring the saltwater of Octavinelle's tanks, but he knows the lake itself can't be very deep and it looks so dirty to swim in. There's no way it's easy to see in to just be enjoying a swim.
"I don't know what, but why would they want to swim in such disgustingly dirty water?" Vil responded incredulously. There's no way that water is good for their pristine, white scales! He may need to help them clean their scales later.
Everyone went silent when Y/N turned enough for them to see their face. They first saw Y/N's razor sharp teeth, but that's only because Y/N's mouth was open, filled with....fish? Resting in Y/N's mouth was about a dozen large fish, violently shaking and spasming around, trying to escape the predator that has caught them. Despite the constant moving, Y/N kept hold of their pray and even seemed to not notice the frantic motions of the fish.
Y/N moved to a large clearing in the overgrowth, a spot that showed clear signs of the plants being frozen, snapped and then brushed out of the way. Walking in a few circles, sort of like a dog, Y/N finally settled down and dropped all the fish, which have now stopped moving, into an open spot they had made. They used their body as a wall to make sure none of the fish could escape back to the water.
From the treeline not too far away, the prefects were still watching. Some of them wanted to go over and question Y/N, ask them what they were doing and why they weren't at the Botanical Garden when they had requested the meet up. But, when Kalim tried to step forward, Malleus stretched out a hand to stop him. Kalim looked up at the tall fae with confusion.
"Just wait a moment, I want to see what Child of Dragon's does." Kalim, although confused, will admit that he was curious himself, so he stepped back again and continued to watch, just like the others.
Y/N's POV
Y/N finally decided that all the fish were dead. Now, they knew that, technically, they should be at the Botanical Garden right now with the prefects, not at the lake fishing. Buuut, Y/N arrived at the Botanical Garden much earlier than they thought they would, so it was either wait or go explore a bit. And exploring sounded much more interesting than waiting around.
So when Y/N stumbled across this lake that they had absolutely no idea existed, they got excited and quickly got comfortable. They had been lazying around in a spot they made for a good thirty minutes when they realized that there was heaps of fish swimming around in the lakes murky waters.
Remembering times where they'd go fishing at the nearby lake to their house back in the Valley of Thorns, Y/N turned into their dragon form and jumped in. While the water was murky, their dragon eyesight and special ability of a protective layer over their eyes allowed them to see. It didn't take long for them to catch up to a school of fish, rather big ones at that. They quickly snapped their large jaw around the fish and made their way back to the surface for air and to drop off the catch.
And, now that the fish were certainly dead, Y/N could eat as much as they wanted. While a dozen fish of this size is a lot in theory, dragons have large stomachs and this wouldn't be enough to fill Y/N's stomach in dragon form. So, they shifted back to human form, where their stomach would be much smaller.
Taking the nearest fish into their hands, Y/N allowed their teeth to sharpen and claws to lengthen. Their claws dug through the scales of the fish and kept in place. In one chomp, around half of the fish was torn off the skeleton and Y/N was happily eating it.
The meat was chewy but not to tough, the fish didn't move so it wasn't a chore to eat, and while blood did spill and drip down Y/N's mouth and covered the few scales that rested on their chin, it didn't bother them and they continued to eat away.
"Y/N!!!!" a voice shrilled not far away. The shock caused Y/N to choke on the food in their mouth. They dropped the remaining fish and pounded a hand against their chest to try and knock the food down their esophagus. When they finally managed that, they felt a hand rest on their back and try to assist them.
When Y/N turned to face the person who interrupted their late lunch, they were shocked to find all seven prefects staring at them like they just tried to jump off a cliff, well, except Malleus, he looked chill about this.
"What the hell are you all doing over here? And why did you shout like that, Vil?" Vil was the one with his hand on their back and now that Y/N thinks about it, only he had to power to make such a shrill with his voice.
"What do you mean why?!" Vil shouted. "You were just trying to eat raw fish!! Are you crazy?" He looked both genuinely concerned and like a mother scolding her stupid child. Is there something wrong with eating raw fish? Apparently so, if the other prefects faces were anything to go by.
Riddle's face was scrunched up in mild disgust, Idia was trying to hide his overwhelming concern behind his hands, Kalim crouched in front of Y/N to try and make sure they weren't about to get sick, Azul was frantically cleaning his glasses like he couldn't believe what he was seeing, Leona was staring rather intensely at the blood Y/N knew was on their chin and Vil was fussing over them while trying to clean said blood. Only Malleus was calm, but when Y/N looked to him for answers, he put a finger to his lips in a shushed motion.
"Sooo, um, what's the problem?" Y/N asked while pushing Vil hand away from their face after he had mostly cleaned the blood.
"What's the problem?" Riddle echoed. "The problem is that if you eat raw fish it can lead you to get sick." his hands flew to his hips while he reprimanded the fae.
The next couple minuted were blur. Y/N didn't truly register what the prefects where doing until they thought about it again later. Vil, Riddle and Azul were scolding Y/N about the health risks, Kalim and Leona offered to cook the fish for them (more like get Jamil and Ruggie to do it) and Idia mumbled to himself about Y/N having 'main character plot armor'(Y/N just barely managed to hear him).
I've never gotten sick from eating raw fish. Is that a common thing for humans? How do they eat fish of they can't cook it then? A familiar tail wrapping around their own brought Y/N out of their thoughts.
Y/N found all the prefects sitting comfortably in Y/N's clearing by the lake, Malleus right next to them with his tail revealed and wrapped around their, all the prefects offering them the snacks they brought. Apparently they all simultaneously thought to bring snacks because they know how much Y/N likes to snack throughout the day.
Y/N just decided to settle in and enjoy the company around them, taking the offered snacks, but they did see as Malleus unraveled their tails and used his to push the fish Y/N caught behind their bodies, hiding the fish from the prefects sight. He leaned over to whisper in their ear while the others spoke to each other.
"Did the fish taste nice?" he asked. "Lilia never let me eat fish raw growing up. He always insisted on cooking it himself first." Y/N couldn't hold back the small giggled that managed to escape their throat.
"Yeah, just the perfect consistency to eat. But do humans really get sick if they eat raw fish?" they asked curiously. Malleus nodded his head and chuckled.
"Yes, humans have to cook their meats before they can eat them. Something in raw meat makes them sick. That's why they all freaked out when they saw what you were doing." Malleus explained.
Huh, strange, but I guess neither me nor Malleus are humans, so our bodies would respond differently.
A...slightly evil idea grew in Y/N's brain. They shifted closer to Malleus to make sure absolutely no one heard.
"Do you wanna...give them a little spook?" Y/N whispered playfully. Malleus raised his brow in question until he saw Y/N's hand reach behind the two and their claws dig into the flesh of one of the fish. Upon realizing their plan, he chuckled again and followed, reaching for a fish and digging his own claws into it.
On a synchronized mental count of three, both made their teeth grow and pulled a fish out, rushing to chomp down on it before someone found out what they were doing. The nearby prefects all let out very different sounds of horror when the two fae tore through the fish and started eating, blood falling down both their chins.
(I figured that Y/N and Malleus would be naturally immune to getting sick from raw meat because they're both dragons. I also assume that, because y/N grew up with a dragon family in the Valley of Thorns, away from humans for the most part, wouldn't know that eating raw meat makes humans sick. Also, Y/N and Malleus taking the chance to torture the poor prefects? Yes!!)

A P♡rn✯ AU with human/demon Alastor who's with an innocent virgin S/O. Anyone? 🙏
A one-shot or a series, whatever you're ok with. A slow burn since inexperienced Reader. The plot is up to you writers if you're up to writing this idea. ❤️
This is inspired by a Levi fanfic that died down in Quotev and since the Author sadly hasn't posted ever since 2023, I wanna see what it's like with Human Alastor instead! These plot ideas below this aren't necessary to be used as they're quite unoriginal ideas that are inspired from the fic.
(Sorry for the amount of punctuation mark errors and grammar errors, if there is.)
To summarize it:
Alastor, a prominent p♡rn✯ around the entire world. Who's known to film about Radio things while doing woman and such, along with his main coworker, Mimzy(or whoever).
Reader, an innocent virgin girl/boy who works at [insert whatever work you want them], who is unaware who Alastor is, met him in a café where he was getting his morning while Reader was also getting ready to start their day.
It then skips 1 year later where they started dating each other, rendering the Reader acutely aware of his profession's lustful nature. Which the Reader also disliked the thought of Alastor having s✯x with other women to pay his bills, which pays off well. Very well. Despite the fact neither of the two had engaged in any physical.
The Reader then told Alastor about it, making him not quite surprised considering it was already obvious despite her innocent nature.
For other ideas:
Alastor invited his S/O to an event filled with lots of other p♡rn✯.
Alastor's Main coworker being a bit judgemental, despite the fact that they don't know that his S/O is a virgin, as they imagine how Alastor himself does his ordinary S/O.
His particularly hated acquaintance, Vox, then started talking to his S/O.
And the rest is up to you!
Can't wait for what you talented Authors got! (If you plan to write this. ❤️)

ALIEN SKINCARE. v! blue lock/male! reader. originally posted on quotev. masterlist.
CHAPTER I. YOU JUST LOVE BEING NOTHING, RIGHT?
Your daily routine is a terribly ordinary, if not a rather dull one.
That’s fine, however. Its normalcy comes from predictability, and with predictability comes a sense of control. Every and each new possible variant is easily molded to fit into what is already established.
Days come and go, much like clouds in the sky, and you’re content. You love your painfully droll, boring routine.
Which would be a lie by definition, so to deny your restlessness would be the same as trying to deny that humans need air to survive. Or to deny that the Japanese football team will never win the World Cup.
But alas, you live.
One of your classmates, Hamada, you think pensively, since you make a passable effort at remembering names of the people you have to spend considerable hours of the day with, is acting rather friendly today.
You think he wants something from you. That’s probably why he’s asking you to go somewhere with him after school. Sadly, it seems he’s unaware of the few universal truths of life.
That is that you’re never free after classes.
Everyone in your immediate vicinity is aware of this, so you’re led to believe that Hamada is extraordinarily out of the loop. Or maybe he’s being a contrarian just to appear unique in your eyes.
Which is not working, by the way.
“Sorry, but I’m busy today.” You say, an apologetical smile creasing your face in a familiar way.
“Oh.” He recoils, losing confidence at your rejection. “Maybe some other day, then?”
Whatever. He should just steal all of your money and fill your shoes with nails at this point. He should spit at you and kick you until you’re a stain on the floor. Unfortunately, you’re [L/n] [Y/n], so you nod. Kindly. With all the positive hidden implications in the world.
Hamada regains some of his previous enthusiasm. Thankfully, the teacher enters the room before he could take your politeness as an invitation to further communication.
Like a good student, you listen and take notes carefully. This teacher in particular talks very slowly and often loses track of his thoughts, which greatly gets on your nerves.
That’s okay. You’ll live.
School time passes by comfortably. You demonstrate your gracefulness and virtue at every chance. Some students swoon. Plenty of girls, and curiously, a good chunk of boys as well. Some scoff at your supposed imitation of perfection. Talk about how you’re probably a faker, eager for attention and praise and whatnot. Not that you mind. They must think about you a lot, enough to start making theories on the topic of you and the nuances of your character.
Not that they'll ever get any confirmation. You let the invested have fun. Do the divine throw bricks at the religious? No.
Your school’s football team is having a game tomorrow. Obviously, you make your way to practice. Though, ultimately, you believe you’d be making a better use of your time by trying to fold a thousand origami cranes with just your feet and then wishing for a better team. Yet, here you are.
You move across the field like a corpse. Metaphorically, of course. To the other’s untrained eye, it looks like you’re giving it your all. However, in your head, you’re trying to to remember at least the first ten digits of pi (you’re failing), so you switch to creating a satirical retelling of some subpar movie you and Bachira watched at the premiere some time ago (you got reasonably angry at the mediocrity of the so-called social commentary that was flaunted around as “never seen before” and “a heart clenching story that dives into the complexities of our society”, and Bachira got bored, so you both ditched it, wasted money be damned).
All that, and yet nothing of worth is happening before you. For shame, since you do think your teammates are decent people, in the same way drivers who stop their cars before they hit you are decent people. Except the probably forty something father of two who let you safely cross the street this morning probably had more ball expertise than these frankly appalling clowns throwing themselves around do.
Of course, you pride yourself on your ever persisting decorum, so you keep your mouth shut as you pass the ball to the guy a bit to your left, since you’re a good teammate and teamwork makes the dreamwork and yadda yadda. Even with your absent minded play, he just needs to push the ball with some semblance of force and boom, it’s a simple and clean goal.
But as if by some otherworldly intervention, the boy trips. Genuinely gets sent sprawling over the central object of the game.
It takes you every drop of self control to not lunge at him with the intent of questioning just how does this happen a day! A day! Before the match. Now, keep in mind, this strange specimen is known for his blunders. At least to you, but the rest of the team and the coach seem to hold this guy in some type of high regard. Which is crazy, since you don’t think he’d be able to score a goal without you specifically holding his hand, making the whole predicament even more baffling since you’re the actual ace of the team.
Now, you think this team could go places, if you had the time to score more, but you have to spend it making sure your companions don’t sabotage the game by playing like it’s their first time seeing a football. You surely have grinded quite a bit of your teeth mass down by pretending to be content with this charade, just so the court jester of a coach wouldn’t call you uncooperative or something similarly humiliating again. God forbid he sends you to meet the bench.
The comically incapable guy turns to you, after all the shock and laughter has faded from the group. “Ah, I’m sorry for ruining your pass, [L/n]-kun. I guess my nerves have been getting to me, haha.”
You wish it was “the nerves”.
“Don’t worry about it.” You respond, channeling every bit of kindness you could find remaining within yourself. “I’m sure you’ll do fine tomorrow.”
Well, he doesn’t do fine, that’s for sure.
The morning of the next day came quickly. As usual, you woke up early, got out of bed, and went through your usual routine with the goal of looking the best you possibly could, which did turn out to be a rather lengthy process, although that was nothing new. You still thought it was an insanely long and dumb.
What meets you next is the sight of your legal guardian, sprawled across the couch, still clad in her work clothes. You conclude that last night was a busy one, so you sneak past her quietly. Making things worse for her is the last thing you want, after all.
Next is making a nutritious breakfast. As a product of meticulous repetition, you’re quickly done with it, making sure to leave a portion for Sayaka as well, along with a note about your plans for today.
It’s a nice, sunny Saturday. So, like you always do, you set out on a morning jog. Chiba has quite a few pleasing sights, especially when there are no hideous eyesores scrambling around in the form of people. You specifically pick a time when the crowd’s minimal, right after the early workers leave for their job. Beautiful. The fresh air stirs up every fiber of your lungs.
All this joy and wonder, you almost forgot about the match that’s supposed to be held in the afternoon. In fact, the memory of that shitshow of a football practice from yesterday almost entirely left your mind. From your increasing frustration, you don’t notice how your pleasant jog turned into a full blown sprint. After a good hour or so of this, you notice just how sweaty you were.
Gross. You’d have to shower again.
Right as you’re about to open the gate of your residence, a weight slams against your back at full force. You remain entirely unbothered, however, as you’re already very well versed in such occurrences.
Bachira Meguru has his arms wrapped around your back, clinging onto you much like an eccentrically colored koala. It seems like the fabric soggy with your sweat doesn’t bother him at all. He’s always been a bit strange like that.
“Bachira-kun.” You smile. It comes easier to you. “Good morning.”
“Good morning!” He grins, lips pulling back to reveal the full expanse of teeth. “You didn’t invite me to go jogging! Again!”
Having a conversation in this position, with your posture being as straight as a tree and Bachira acting as some type of a humanoid backpack or a large parasite, would be inconvenient to most, but the two of you have long made this a part of your “normalcy”.
“That’s because you’re never awake that early.” You retort easily, with a light teasing tone. “I’m surprised you’re even up right now.”
“My monster got restless, so I wanted to play football.” He says, like that’s a totally normal thing to say. Like pointing out how the weather is nice or such.
Listen, you genuinely do like Bachira (as far as someone like you is capable of liking), and you suppose he shares the same sentiment to some degree, because his whole “Monster” thing isn’t something that you talk about with just anyone, unless you want to be wheeled off to the nearest institution and shunned forever. You pride yourself on your patience and understanding, so you tend to brush this topic off whenever it comes up in a conversation. Mostly because you have no idea what to say that wouldn’t be extremely harsh. You want to honor Bachira’s companionship and trust in you, which means that him getting upset over something you stupidly spat out without thinking is not on your to-do list.
You do think that seeing a professional sometime in the future would do him some good, though.
Putting that aside, you nod in understanding. “I see. But-” You poke at his leg. “-Can you get off, please? I want to take a shower.”
Bachira hums a long tune, but he makes no move to do what you’ve requested of him. After a passage of silence, he asks a question, even if he knows the answer already.
“Hey, can we play together? Just for a bit?”
He can’t see your face, but he can clearly visualize the apologetic expression that graces it. It looks the same, every time he asks. “Sorry, but I need to save energy for later. Maybe next time?”
There it is again. Despite it being a few years since you two met, both lovers of football and everything football related, you’ve rejected his proposal again and again. You always have an excuse, something about being busy, or not feeling well, or this and that.
Bachira has been resigned to it. Yet, he still repeats the inquiry, like you’ll change your mind someday. Maybe next time? As if that will ever come.
He lets it go, as he always does.
Finally stepping down, he leans onto your side. He’s rather sweaty too, you notice. “Right! You have a match today! Make sure to score lots of goals, ‘kay? I’ll be there to cheer for you!”
Bachira thinks you’re not aware of the fondness you let slip into your gaze. It’s for the best, though, since if you knew you’d probably try to mask it with some form of artificial politeness. He likes you the most when you’re honest, in these small tidbits of time, after all.
“Sure.” You say, simply, as some things are.
The tensions are high before the match. For what reason, you don’t know. The match is purely for practice, although you’re curious on how a low tier school such as Kagayaku High managed to schedule a match against some bigshot from Kanagawa. You’d think they’d consider it a waste of time, but you guess not.
A notification lights up the screen of your phone just as you’re finishing putting your jersey on.
Sayaka
I’m so sorry that I won’t be able to make it to your game!!!! Work is hell today 𖦹 ´ ᯅ ` 𖦹
But I hope your team does well! Do your best ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)
You snort at the woman’s usage of kaomojis. It was hard to imagine that she was nearly forty years old. Keeping your eye on the clock, you quickly type a response.
You
Please don’t worry about it!
Take care of yourself!
Sayaka
You’re too nice to me, haha
The breakfast was delicious, by the way! It really made my day O(≧∇≦)O
I’m gonna make us something to eat later, as a celebration and payback! ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ
You gnawed at your lip worrieldy. While you truly did appreciate the sentiment, Sayaka’s cooking skills … weren’t something you’d write home about. Her message truly left you worried for the safety of the stove. Before you could try to change her mind (and save the neighborhood from a possible fire), one of your teammates gestures for you to move.
Ah. It’s time.
You
The game is starting, ttyl
The match goes just as well as you thought it would.
The opponent’s defense tears through the clumsy guy like a knife through butter within the first few minutes of the game. They’re not too shabby, you have to admit. But the more you watch them, the more holes ripe for exploatation you notice.
The rush of excitement still evades you, as you circle an opposing player who is attempting to take the ball from you. Your mind is still in its autopilot mode, where you make boring, yet entirely rational plays that have carried your team to where it is now. Move your leg and lean to the right, and when the guy is still thinking of his next move, kick the ball between his legs. A safe and classic nutmeg. After that-
A movement leaves you startled; someone dashes past you with unforseen speed and snatches the football right from your possession. You’re forced to be wide awake, left feeling like a bucket of icy water was thrown over your head.
Huh?
For what seems to be the first time in years, your heartbeat echoes loudly in your ears and shakes your very core.
You gape at the distancing back of the player who had just turned your world around. In bold letters, the name Itoshi acts as a mockery of you. Helpless in your shock, you can do nothing but watch as your newest adversary scores a clean goal into the net, while Kagayaku High’s goalkeeper does nothing.
For once, you don’t blame him.
The clowns of your circus are talking amongst themselves. You think they’re trying to include you as well, but you’re too busy rebooting your brain to care.
You wanted Itoshi gone. An irritation so strong its frightening festers under your skin as you stare, long and hard, at the intruder who had come to ruin everything for you.
But was he truly ruining anything?
When a teammate of yours moves with the ball, you abandon all uniform strategy. This stupid team could go to hell. Both yours and the enemy’s. This game should be just between you and him.
Much to the shock of your team, who had probably gotten too comfortable with your usually passive way of playing, you pick up the pace, with the speed and technique built up through many regular torturous sessions of trying to polish yourself to your extremes.
It’s something you had to do, lest you want to be left in the dust when the real threat appears.
Is Itoshi a real threat?
A wispy smile still hangs from your lips. It looks … out of place, possibly, as it’s no longer a carefully planned tool of deceit.
Astonished shouts of your team as you steal the ball from your own comrade is nothing but background noise.
There he comes. His gaze is glacier cold as he weaves between the humanoid obstacles in his path. Surely, he’s wholy confident in his domination of this match. You wait.
Itoshi moves with clear intent of making you crumble under his might. That won’t do. Who does he think he is? Who does he think you are? Does he think you’re a mere bug, a speck of dust on his road to victory? That doesn’t make sense at all.
“Pass to me!” Someone yells at you, as if you weren’t the damned ace, as if you weren’t the one who gave this shitty team the ability to get off the ground in the first place.
You’re nowhere near the penalty area. The other team’s defense is scattered around, trying to cut off all your routes. Now aware of the possible danger you represent, Itoshi is right by your side, with his eyelash rimmed eyes watching you like he might tear you apart. At least he’s fast on the uptake, you muse, as you almost carelessly roll the ball across the grass.
The angle is terribly narrow, but it’ll do.
Avoiding Itoshi’s attempt at ridding you of the ball, you raise your leg and deliver a swift kick to it, sending it flying in a rather flimsy arc (your brows furrow slightly at that), which manages to slam into the net at a spot left open.
1-1.
You stop and take a long look at the goal. That was a five out of ten. Hell, maybe even four. But it seemed like it was enough to make your current “rival” appear like he wants to explode you with his mind.
That makes you … giddy? Edges of your lips wobble as you attempt to keep your expression under control. Even if you just single handedly destroyed the foundation of your team as well as the way its members saw you, you still had appearances to keep. From the corner of your eye, you spot Bachira watching, with a grin so manic it bordered on deranged.
In the end, you lose the game. And yet, to you, it feels like a victory, sweeter than any other. You managed to keep Itoshi from scoring another goal (well, you didn’t score another one either, but that was fine), and you got the front seat to the slow unraveling of his stoic disposition.
His team manages to secure a victory with their goal. But their ace, visibly pissed, makes his way to you. His tone is biting, befitting of an untouchable beauty such as himself.
“Next time, I’ll crush you.”
And then he leaves. One for dramatics, that’s for sure. Mommy’s little edgelord. Deciding to play along, you wave at his retreating back, signature smile set in place. “If you say so, Itoshi.”
Pointedly ignoring the troupe of mongrels, you collect your belongings and make a swift departure. Of course, nothing is that simple for you, because Bachira is waiting for you outside. Predictably, he lunges at you, but is considerate enough to take note of your possible exhaustion and not jump on your back like he usually does, instead opting to sling an arm around your shoulders.
“That was pretty insane, you know.” He begins, although you note the sharpness of his grin that was unknown to you, up until now. “I never knew you could play like that.”
Then, he goes on to speak more, but you’re already ensnared within your own mind. A familiar thing; anger, ire, all-consuming, starts to ignite your entire being. A combination of many factors give way to its rise, both from Bachira’s subtle and probably unintentional downplaying of your perceived capability, and from … well, everything about the game. Especially Itoshi. What, did they all think you were some insignificant ant? A poser, perhaps? Maybe a-
You pause all thought. Suddenly, your legs feel weak. Not from tiredness, of course not. Embarrassingly, the weight of emotions was always a bigger burden than anything of physical kind.
That was your weakness. A flaw that you needed to demolish.
“Bachira,” you gasp out, voice small and uneven. “Bachira-”
The boy in question tilts his head. “Huh? What is it?”
“Hold me.” You say, just before you collapse.

Looks Like Lingerie to Me - Part Two
Word Count: 1.4k
Part 1
A belated and awkward part 2. I’ll start writing part 3 in the morning (it’s like 1am lmao)
For those who need a visual aid, here. (oof feels like wattpad or quotev but girlypops i am cringe but i am free. it isnt a perfect representation, but its pretty accurate. titilating, no? ;) )
Warnings: Lingerie lmao…this is pretty short, and is just a set-up for part 3. A lot of this is my own feelings surrounding cis men in lingerie. As with part 1 gender neutral reader. Yeah! Hope you enjoy!
---------------------------------------
Sanji couldn't stop thinking about it. You thought he'd look hot in lingerie? You thought he looked slutty?
It had overtaken every waking moment. Any time he wasn't focused on a task all he could see was the dumb stare you gave him, eyes focused on his thighs.
He'd love to wear lingerie for you if it meant you'd stare at him like that.
----------------------
The Going Merry was docked, the Straw Hats carrying out their duties, and Sanji had a plan.
"I'm gonna go shopping. You coming (Name)? Sanji can carry our bags." Nami preened, looking absolutely glowing at the prospect of new clothes. Sanji bit his lip. He wanted to go with Nami and you, really he did, but if either of you caught on he'd die of embarrassment.
"You okay, Ji?"
Huh?
You were asking something.
"What? Oh, yeah, love. I'm fine. I'm afraid I have business to attend to on the island."
You blinked at him before smiling that dazzling smile up at him. He was smitten, his fortitude nearly wavering. "Of course. You do what you gotta do!"
Business his ass. Instead he hurried to check out the town.
----------------------
A small, seedy shop tucked away in an alley. Sanji entered the store warily. A small, old woman trotted out from the back. Sanji blanched. He didn't want to discuss this with a grandma!
"Hello young man, here for something for your wife?"
Sanji felt himself flush. He tried to wander around the store. "No, no-"
"Your girlfriend then?"
Ah. This grandmother didn't know when to quit.
"Not exactly?"
The old lady grabbed his arm. Sanji raised a brow, turning back to her. She was grinning at him, eyes narrowed and sparkling with something he couldn't place.
"Is it for you? Such a handsome young man as yourself."
What? Sanji's face was on fire. He was flustered beyond belief. His hands were lightly shaking, eyes darting around for anyone else in the store.
"Come with me darling. My name's Bea." The old lady chimed, dragging Sanji with her. "What colour were you thinking?"
"Oh, um." Sanji was panicking, voice high. Did she even have lingerie for men? "Blue?"
Bea hummed. "I do have blue, but I have a lovely pink set that would just make your skin pop."
Pink? Sanji didn't think it was possible to flush darker, and yet here he was. "I, uh, would it even fit me?"
"Of course sonny! You're quite slim." Bea swatted at his arm, patting his biceps for good measure as she led him through the store. "So, tell me about the lucky one."
"They're beautiful." Sanji began dreamily. Where should he even start? "The most gorgeous creature I've ever laid my eyes on. They have this laugh that just brightens up any room, and such a sense of humour. I’ve been smitten with them since I met them.”
“You two aren’t together?”
Sanji shook his head sadly. “No, no. We’re just good friends. They, uh… Do you know what shirt stays are?”
Bea laughed, patting the cook on the arm. “Say no more.”
She let go of him when they reached the back of the store. Sanji watched nervously as she carded through a rack of, well, did it really constitute clothing? Skimpy piece after skimpy piece were revealed.
And then he saw it.
It was a gorgeous baby pink. Bea ahhed as she removed it from the rack, holding it up to inspect it. She turned to face him, sizing him up next to the set. Sanji felt his throat go dry as he really took it in.
The set was a simple baby pink bralette, made from some kind of sheer lacy material with a flower motif. The plunging neckline was created to draw attention to the cleavage, and it was adorned with some delicate string of pearl-like decoration to highlight the collarbones. The panties were the same sheer material, clear that they weren’t to hide much. The sides of it were accentuated with cute ruffles that further added a feminine touch. Sanji felt lightheaded.
Finally, it was a beautiful pastel garter belt that sat in the middle, completing the look. It too was made from the same stretchy, sheer lace. It would wrap around the waist, strategic cutouts to accentuate the waist, hips, and the bellybutton. The central cutout had a simple chain of pearls to add interest and movement. Four satin-looking ribbons led from bottom front and back, with clips attached to hold up stockings.
Oh, maybe his shirt stays were kinda…
Nonetheless, it was breathtaking. Sanji had clearly marvelled at it for too long, as Bea chuckled, causing him to flush red. The old woman, lingerie in hand, led him to a mirror.
“I’m…I can’t.”
Bea just chuckled, holding the hanger up against him. “Look in the mirror boy, I’ve been making lingerie for fifty years. This suits you.”
Sanji obeyed her, staring at himself in the mirror. What he saw took his breath away. He looked a mess, face red and hair messy. He had to hand it to the old woman, the colour was flattering against him. Even the cut looked good. Sanji shifted from foot to foot, anxiety creeping in. He wasn’t really sure how he felt about looking so…so feminine.
Sanji was a man. It wouldn’t be right for him to wear something so delicate and gorgeous. Right? Of course women’s clothing was beautiful, the fabrics they used, the stylish designs he’d seen the girls on the ship sport. Men’s clothing just, well it was meant to be masculine and boring. Right? He couldn’t let himself give in to that want to feel pretty, that would be wrong.
Right?
Bea, clearly noticing his inner struggle, scoffed.
“Sonny.”
“Sanji.” “Right. Sonny, I’ve been doing this for a long time.” “You, uh, you already said that.”
“I know that!” Bea snapped, swatting at him. Sanji’s gaze drifted back to the pink lace. “I’ve been doing this for a long time. When I started, well, I made boring beige bras and the same lacy black underwear again, and again, and again. I got bored. I got creative! And when I got creative, I became determined to make people feel pretty. People, Sonny, not women.”
Sanji went rigid, his throat was so dry. Was he that obvious? All he could make out was a simple, “Oh?”
Bea grinned. “Everyone deserves the right to feel pretty.” Sanji opened his mouth to speak but the old woman just held up a wrinkled hand. “Nope. Don’t care if you’re a ‘man’. Everyone. Sonny, one day you’ll realise that being a ‘man’ is more than just grunting like an ape, or never showing any vulnerability, or even having a penis. Man is a state of mind, and Sonny, the sooner you feel comfortable in who you are, the more beautiful life is going to be for you.”
Sanji felt breathless. “Really?”
“Really.” Bea nodded, a fondness in her eyes. “Come, we’ll get you a choker to go with it, I have just the one.”
Sanji felt a million miles away as Bea led him to the shop counter. She handled a delicate pink satin choker with care, presenting it to him. It was a giant bow, a simple snap holding it in place around the neck. Simple, but delicate. If Sanji was honest with himself, he liked it.
“Like a million berry! Your precious one will love you in it!” Bea smiled fondly at him. “So, Sonny, you buying?”
Sanji sucked in a deep breath. When he spoke his voice was foreign to him, a shakiness underlying the wispiness. Sanji felt like he was treading water, unsure and scared of the newness of it all. He could drown at any moment.
“Yeah.”
“Good, good!”
So Sanji paid. Bea took extra care to wrap the lingerie up in a delicate pink tissue paper. His own little present. She then promptly put it in an unmarked bag. She understood, shooting him a wink.
“So, anyone, huh?”
“Oh yes, yes. You see, originally I made them for my girlfriend when I was a much younger lady. She was a farmer’s daughter, wonderful girl, shared many a kiss with her, and then some! Now I make these lovely ones for my current husband. You remind me a lot of him, Sonny. You see he lets me wear this harness thing that I put in his a-”
“Thank you grandma, I’ll be out of here now!”
“Yes, yes. Good luck, Sonny! Stop by with your sweetie and get something nice one day, okay?” Bea waved her goodbyes from the doorway, smiling that same sweet old woman smile. Sanji clutched the bag to his chest tightly.
Right. Time to put the plan into place.

Hello everyone! I am pleased to announce that Redemption has officially expanded to AO3! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a former quotev author for my Fire Emblem Heroes fanfic Redemption. Unfortunately an ex friend of mine who was harassing me got my account disabled, and we don’t know if we’re going to be able to recover it. I made that account back in 2015, so nearly a decade’s worth of progress sadly down the drain over an argument they decided to start. So I figured.. why not try to rebuild the fan base and expand to AO3? If you’re a fan of Fire Emblem (especially Takumi ;3 ) feel free to give it a read! Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out to offer support and help. I’m not going to let this person ruin a story that has touched this many people’s hearts (heck even Takumi’s VA supports my content which is HUGE!) I’ve even had people tell me it helps with their mental health. Writing this story has helped a lot with mine too. So if you have a spare moment.. feel free to give it a read and share with your friends!

Hello there, fellow Ninjago fan....
I wonder, are you looking for Ninjago fics to read..?
WELL GOOD NEWS I'M HERE WITH A LIST OF AMAZING FICS FROM QUOTEV JUST FOR YOU!! <33
List is below heheh
Also just real quick: Some of these fics are not updated often/not updated anymore! These are all fem readers/ocs, but if they are gn or male I'll lyk. These are also catered to Cole lovers (ofc) but there are some other pretty good ones too!!
Dandelions~ Lloyd x Reader
https://www.quotev.com/story/15255742/dandelions-LloydG-x-reader
This is a reader insert, and I think is a gn reader if I recall. I haven't read it in a while, but I do remember really enjoying it! It's rarely updated, and has under 100 pages currently, but it's worth the read. Promise!
Element of Wishes~ OC
https://www.quotev.com/story/15032547/ELEMENT-OF-WISHES-LEGO-Ninjago
I LOVE THIS FIC SMM!! This is an OC fic, following the story of an elemental master of wishes, who also just so happens to be half-djinn! It currently has over 200 pages as well. You read through the events of Ninjago as normal, but also get to read interesting parts about the mc's own personal quest to find answers! SKYLOR ALSO PLAYS A BIG ROLE IN IT AND I LOVE THAT SM (Most of s1 has been skipped though). Cole is the current love interest, the author can sometimes leave updating for like 4 months lmao, but they have started updating regularly again! One of my all-time favourite fics! I'M CURRENTLY READING IT RN AND I LOVE ITTT
The Master of Wind~ OC
https://www.quotev.com/story/7985682/The-Master-of-Wind
I another one I haven't read for a bit, but let me tell you: I LOVED THIS BOOK WITH A BURNING PASSION OMG. Its also pretty long, with like 900 pages lol. I generally love the concept of a master of wind, more so because I love Morro, but anyways, this book is spectacular. The love interest is Lloyd, and its a bit of a slow burn, but its worth it. Sadly it hasn't been updated for 3 months now, but I am hopeful that the author will update it soon!
Just An Illusion~ Reader Insert
https://www.quotev.com/story/14405232/Just-an-Illusion
Another short-ish book with under 100 pages, but I really loved this one!! The fic begins at the Tournament of Elements, and I don't think there is a current love interest. But seriously the way I read and reread this book is acc insane 😭 The fic unfortunately has been left for 8 months as I think the author is taking a break, but I'm pretty confident that Just an Illusion will continue!
Stoneheart~ OC
https://www.quotev.com/story/14081498/Stoneheart-Ninjago-Masters-of-Spinjitzu
THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. The fic follows the story of an OC, who isn't from Ninjago, and who ends up joining the Ninja. Another MASSIVE book with over 800 pages and chock-full with a bunch of amazing original characters, and you're in for a good ride, trust me! I don't think there is a definite love interest, but it does seem to be leaning towards a certain character hehe (and no its not Cole unfortunately). Its being updated regularly-ish and I promise you will NOT regret reading it!
The Infinite Series~ Reader Insert
https://www.quotev.com/story/14276031/Infinite-Serenity-INFINITE-SERIES-BOOK-1
Another fic I enjoyed, this tells the story of the reader who died and had been reincarnated into a show from their childhood, LEGO Ninjago (obviously lol). There are two books in the series, the first one is linked above and you should be able to find the second one from there. I don't remember if there was a love interest or not but I do remember that the mc's personal story is really cool and so so creative! Book 1 had around 400 words and book 2 has like 300, however it hasn't been updated in 7 months 💔 still worth the read!
The Last~ Reader Insert
https://www.quotev.com/story/10806407/The-Last-LEGO-Ninjago-Masters-of-Spinjitzu-X-Reader
THE LAST. I LOVED THE LAST SO MUCH OMG. IM JUST SO SAD IT HASN'T BEEN UPDATED SINCE 2021 😭💔. This book is a Reader insert, where the mc is the last of their species, and joins the Ninja team, though I don't remember if there was a love interest or not, you'll have to read to find out because I really don't remember haha. Though the book has just over 100 pages, there aren't many chapters, and I don't think it's past s1 yet. Its still a good read, however, and I think a lot of you guys would like it!
The Colour of Hope & The Race Against Time~ OC
https://www.quotev.com/story/15708101/Ninjago-The-Color-of-Hope
THIS FIC IS EPIC. ITS AMAZING. It follows the story of a girl who becomes a target for a mysterious gang, and ends up in the care and protection of none other than the Ninja! (The Colour of Hope takes place between Day of the Departed and s7). The love interest is Cole, and the writing as absolutely phenomenal! This is a series, and the first book is linked above. The next book has only recently been made, so I have the upmost confidence that it'll be regularly updated, since the first one was too! Book 1 had around 250 pages I think. I PROMISE. You will wanna read it.
The Indigo and Black Series~ OC(s)
https://www.quotev.com/story/11634295/Indigo-and-Black-Pilots-Rise-of-the-Snakes-and-Destiny-of-the-Green-Ninja
I ENJOYED THIS BOOK SO MUCH! This follows the tale of not 1, but 2 mcs who are both OCs! One is the master of Time, the other, the master of Forces + Shadows. A Three-part series with 3 books, and the love interests are Cole and Kai! (Sorry Kailor fans 😭) The last book was updated around 6 months ago, but I did some digging and turns out the authors are still working on the next book, so I hope it comes out soon!
Kiss Me Baby~ Reader Insert
https://www.quotev.com/story/14954138/Kiss-Me-Baby-Ninjago
Suprisingly, this is actually a fic based on the universe of the Ninjago Movie, and I really enjoyed it! The reader is a confident teen who joins Ninjago High, but is secretly the mystery person who managed to get Lord Garmadon into prison, putting a stop to all his attacks on Ninjago City. A short book with under 100 pages, but it is also going through a rewrite if I recall. No definite love interest, but there is an implied one (once again, *sigh* it isn't Cole). Also, just throwing it out there, I was awake at like 4am reading this 😭
The Truth~ OC
https://www.quotev.com/story/9767787/The-Truth
THIS BOOK WAS LEGENDARY. I REREAD IT ALL THE TIME OML I LOVED IT. This book is all about a girl who somehow knows every member of the Ninja, though they don't actually remember her themselves. It begins at the Tournament of Elements, and runs right up to March of the Oni, where it has stopped being updated for quite a few months now 💔. The love interest is Cole, and honestly can I just say, this book was written SO WELL. Like I wish I could write like that 😭😭
Aaaaand that is all! If I DID have to pick my top 3, it would be as follows:
1ST~The Truth
2ND~Element of Wishes
3RD~ The Colour of Hope & The Race Against Time
I personally think these ones were/are the most engaging and exciting! I'm not saying the others were bad though. You'll wanna read them all. Trust me.
I hope yall enjoy these fics! <33

𝐵𝑒𝒶𝒸𝒽: 𝐸𝓅𝒾𝓈𝑜𝒹𝑒 𝒯𝒽𝓇𝑒𝑒 ♡ 𝐹𝒷𝑜𝓎𝓈 𝒜𝓃𝑜𝓃𝓎𝓂𝑜𝓊𝓈
disclaimer: this has already been posted on ao3 and quotev, i'm just reposting this beach episode special as a promo for the fic. after this is all my previous author notes.
this is a fem!reader and also a half chinese!reader insert.
previous ♡ next
You hung limply over Jade's shoulder as he brought you over to the table. He set you down gently and handed you a plate with a polite smile, before quickly snapping up the food he wanted. Thankfully, Jade was quick enough for you to be able to grab a sandwich you actually wanted to eat. There's no way in the cold, wet hells[1] that you'd eat any large meal before swimming. Stomachaches were already a common occurrence for you due to the curse of menstruation, why go through even more unnecessary pain?
Sadly, the boys had a completely different philosophy. Ruggie had piled a plate sky-high with varying meats and seafood, all while fiercely guarding a gourmet steak for Leona. Floyd and Jade, with you stuck between them, had also taken a large amount of food. At least they were planning on eating vegetables. Meanwhile, Riddle, Azul, Vil and Rook seemed to have prepared meals with the 'perfect' caloric intake.
And even then, they're eating so much! Though I guess the minimum calories are higher for guys? And they are younger...[2]
Leona slowly stalked over to the table, hair a mess from his nap and snatched his plate from Ruggie, sitting next to the hyena. Idia eventually got up from the pancake he made on the ground, mostly by Ortho's prompting. A plate stacked with healthy foods was handed to him by his brother and he was forced in a seat next to Silver. The Diasomnia first year had a plate with similarly healthy foods, though Idia had a smaller portion in comparison... It didn't help that every so often, Lilia would add a vegetable or cut of meat to Silver's plate.
Malleus ate silently at the head of the table with a contemplative frown, Lilia smirking and whispering in his ear while Silver just ate in silence. Trey smiled sheepishly in conversation with Cater and Riddle, the three of them seemingly somewhat pleased with their meals. Kalim and Jamil ate next to each other, food already tested for poison and picked out to be a perfect lunch.
"Koi fish~" Floyd started, leaning over your shoulder. "is that seriously all you're gonna eat?"
"Ah- well..." You trailed off. "I'm not exactly a 'growing girl' so to speak."
"Still," Jade chimed in, mirroring Floyd. "that isn't a lot of food. Are you sure you don't need to eat anymore?"
Are they... planning something? It's not my fault you boys all eat like beasts!
Trey silently spooned some pasta onto Riddle's plate. Suddenly, everyone at the table seemed extremely invested in your private conversation.
You sighed. "Yes, I'm sure."
Who are they? My mom? Please. She'd never be so smothering.
"You're already skin and bones." Leona chimed in, "A herbivore like you definitely needs to eat more. Else you'll end up like Riddle."
"WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!" The redhead snapped at Leona, face matching the colour of his hair. "Though you definitely should eat more, it doesn't seem like enough food for the day." He looked over at you, now cool as a cucumber.
"I agree, I don't think a sandwich is enough for a day in the sun." Trey frowned in concern, Cater nodding emphatically next to him.
"Yeah! How are we supposed to post cute beach pics if you're fainting from a lack of food!"
Can the peanut gallery PLEASE stop offering their opinions?
You took a small bite out of your sandwich, resisting the urge to roll your eyes. A posture of steel, not a crumb falling nor a hair out of place. The essence of perfection you were taught to be. Too bad the boys were too busy worrying over your lunch to properly appreciate it.
"Are you really fine with only eating that much?" Kalim tilted his head in concern. "Shouldn't she eat more, Jamil?"
"Eh?" His vice dormleader looked over, pretending to be unaware of the conversation. "...Yes, she should be eating more."
Lilia nodded his head with a frown and a shrug. "She definitely should, humans are sooo fragile~"
Vil and Rook looked over at what you were eating, looks of disapproval obvious.
"Don't tell me you've bought into diet culture," Vil lectured, "it's been proven to be a scam that hardly works and even then-"
"Diet culture is a scam?!" Azul looked shell shocked.
"Obviously? Pressuring people into restricting what they eat so much and guilting them for even barely straying from an un-nutritious and unfulfilling diet is a binge-eating disaster waiting to happen!"
"...You guys are binge-eating?" Ruggie looked over, half a chicken wing in his mouth, curious.
Floyd poked your cheek, then attempted to place more food on your plate. A serving of calamari clashed against a spearing of mushrooms. Twins glared and started to war a silent fight while you polished off your lunch. There was no way you were gonna deal with this in-fighting when you could just find Crewel and go swimming. You put your plate in the sink and cleaned it up.
Quiet as a mouse, you left the room, boys none the wiser. Grabbing your bag off of the couch, you bid Crewel adieu and went out to the beach. Shimmering waves against the gleaming, blinding white sand enamored you as you placed your bag and towel in the shade.
A warding talisman and the removal of your sundress left you free to explore the shore to your heart's content. Wandering around, you gathered bone-bleached shells and smoothed down shards of colourful sea glass. By the time you reached rocky cliff, you had left a trail of footprints and a floating pile of your treasures following you. You smiled and took in the relaxing atmosphere.
A crash and the loud slam of the door.
A swarm of boys rushing down the hill towards the sandy beach.
"(Y/NNNNN)!!!" Floyd called out, arms waving around wildly, giant grin on his face.
Ruggie and Leona waved from where Ruggie was setting up a throne room for the king of naps. Malleus and Lilia curiously observing while being blasted with horrific UV rays. Rook had already helped Vil set up a UV-proof zone and the two were slathering on reef-safe suncream, glancing at-
Did Idia just eat sand and die?
You smiled ruefully, your boys were so stupid. And there goes Idia rolling over! Knocking over Riddle, Trey, Cater and-
Like dominoes, Idia's fall started a chain reaction ending in a dog-pile of half-naked, sweaty, flushed men. Disgusting.
You glided over gracefully, faked concern appearing on your face like a well-worn mask.
"Are you guys okay?" You asked, leaning over, hands on your knees.
For whatever reason, the boys just went even more red. You think Riddle let out a muffled shriek. The momentary confusion was replaced by disappointment.
They were looking at your cleavage. The pigs.
Yeah. There's no way you were going to go near them. You acted confused, tilting your head before walking past in a decisive moment towards Vil and Rook.
How do I bleach a memory from my brain?!
No matter. You sat in the UV-safe zone with Rook and Vil. The hunter offered you a bottle of water.
"Ah- no, thank you." With a snap of your fingers, your bag appeared next to you. "I brought my own."
A sip of water and then you gathered up the things you collected from beach-combing.
"Was that what you were doing while we had that..." Vil paused. "discussion?"
You beamed. "Yep!" That reminds you... "I founded a shell that was like you!" You told Vil with a blinding smile, rummaging through the piles for it.
You pulled out a large conch shell, spiky with streaks of purple. A shy look in your eyes and you offered it to him.
"If I remember correctly... conches follow the golden ratio, right? And well... you're the most perfect person I know, so..."
Vil sniffed and took the shell from your hands like a merciful god. "I suppose it's... nice."
"Vil, mon cher Roi du Poison, I can always take it from your hands if you do not want it!" Rook stated with a wink and a grin. "I always delight in a gift from our Reine des Cygnes[3]!"
Rook reached his hand out only to have it slapped away, Vil tucking the conch protectively into his arms.
"No, it's mine. She gave it to me, so hands off!"
You fretted over the slight fight, feeling the sparks flying between the two. Vil with a stone cold expression and Rook with his ever-present smile.
"Oh- uhm, I also brought something for you, Rook!"
It wasn't a lie, you did find a piece of glass that reminded you of your classmate, but...
"You did?!" Rook took your hands in his, stars in his eyes. "I shall cherish this for every year that goes by, ma chouette!"
...You just knew Rook was gonna get weird about it. Too late to save yourself now.
"Ah- here." You tugged your hands out of Rook's grasp and handed him an arrow-shaped shard of indigo sea glass. It sparkled against the sun, uncannily reminiscent of the shine in Rook's eyes.
"Thank you so much ma chère!" He quickly took it, handling it with the reverence of a man with an idol of his god.
"It was no problem at all..." You flushed slightly at the praise.
"No, you took the time to search for these and then give them to us." Vil gazed at you with ardent warmth. "Thank you for taking the time to find these."
You suddenly wished for a fan, hands covering your face while it rapidly heated up. You couldn't handle this! Both Vil and Rook in their purple swimwear, decorative open shirts framing their bodies with such elegance... it was too much!
A chuckle. Vil covered his laugh up with a hand over his mouth. Rook simply stayed smiling with a knowing look in his eyes. The Pomefiore Housewarden leaned in closer to you, hands brushing, as he opened his mouth to whisper something but-
"Ey, (Y/N), come here!" Leona beckoned you over and with a frown and a curious glance, you followed.
Vil looked awfully put out, but Rook seemed to be even more pleased by this outcome, taking out a pair of sun-proofed binoculars from who knows where.
You walked over to the two Savanaclaw members, Leona now lazing on a towel-bed while Ruggie set up portable fans to cool the lion down.
"Heard you were giving out gifts." Leona said with a twitch of his ears. "Where's mine?"
You fumbled for a second in slight shock, but with a quick recovery, gave him one half of an oyster shell, coated in mother of pearl.
He raised an eyebrow. "Where's the other half?"
"It's for Ruggie!" You smiled. "Who else?"
The hyena, with a bashful turn of his head, took the other half from your hands. "Wait- I can probably make a lot of money with this... Thank you!"
"Isn't it rude to sell a gift?"
"I gave it to him since I knew he probably would sell it!" You snapped back in reply.
"I don't get either of you." And with a huff, Leona lied down and took another nap.
"...Is he already asleep?" You asked Ruggie, head leaning against your hand as you watched him finish up the nap-fort.
The hyena glanced at Leona. "Probably, yeah."
"He's really good at this..." You sighed. "Now if only he'd apply this effort to his studies..."
A bark of laughter.
"Like he'd ever! Leona isn't Leona if he spends all his time studying!"
A fond grin and a burst of yellow roses in your heart. "Yeah... you're right."
After a while of chatting with Ruggie and a quick re-application of suncream, you went over to the waves. Floyd and Jade waved at you from where they were (most likely) torturing poor Riddle, who was fuming once again. Trey and Cater tried their best to calm him but it was a lost cause. Meanwhile, Idia was carefully watching Ortho's movements in the water, taking notes on a floating tablet. Kalim was splashing around while Jamil stayed on guard by the shore, resolutely ignoring Azul trying to talk to him.
"Koi fish! You gonna swim?" Floyd asked with a bright grin, cheeks flushing.
"Why else would I be by the waves?" You teased.
Riddle went bright red at your entrance, eyes darting to your chest and then to your face before he quickly whipped his head away from you. If he wasn't so endearing you'd have punted him into the sun already.
"Oh, (Y/N)!" Kalim waved you over. "Wanna play a game with us?"
"Sure!" You beamed. "What is it?"
Jade held a hand to his chest, a smirk on his face. "We're playing 'save the princess'. Would you like to play the part? The heroes have to rescue you from us, if they get to that tree with you, they win."
At some point I am going to murder these men. Is he seriously asking me to play the damsel in distress?
You looked at both Floyd and Jade, the two, in their true forms, were practically vibrating with excitement. You guessed they would be your captors... and even then you doubt that they'd let you go.
A sigh. "I guess..."
Floyd smiled wide and grabbed you by the waist in a second. Clawed hands almost fondling your sides.
"I've got Koi fishie~ let's swim away, Jade!" He laughed in childish glee as he quickly darted off.
"Wait, we're starting now?" Kalim called out. "Oh, then, Jamil! Help me catch those dastardly villains!"
A tilt to his head and a proud smile on his face, Kalim fell into his role as the knight-prince, your supposed saviour.
"If sea snake's joining then I want Azul!" Floyd pouted as Jade simply smiled. "Azul! Join us!"
Their Housewarden sighed, getting up from his place in the sand along with Jamil as they entered the water. For whatever reason, Azul stayed in his two-legged form, yet he still could quickly swim over.
"If we are to win," Jade said, "we should make sure to split up. Toss (Y/N) over to the person who is unswarmed by these heroes."
"But I want to spend time with (Y/N)!" Floyd frowned, hands twitching around your waist while you let him carry you, limp.
And I wanted to play a fun game of tag, but I guess we don't always get what we want!
"I agree with Jade." Azul pushed his glasses up. "We should make sure to keep (Y/N) away from these heroes."
Your captors had migrated over to the deeper waters in the ocean, powerful tails (and legs) allowing them to tread the water with ease. You shifted in Floyd's grasp, turning chest-to-chest, to peer over at your supposed heroes. The merman chirped with glee and held you even tighter to him in a pseudo-hug while he continued to discuss tactics with his dormmates.
Surprisingly, Riddle, Cater and Trey were participating in this game as well. By the looks of things, it seems they had managed to recruit Ortho too. The 'knights' were similarly congregating, thinking up a game plan. While their numbers trumped your captors, you're sure that they are the ones with the advantage.
Seriously, why are the teams like this. There's no way Kalim's team is winning against this sea-beasts.
In a flash, Azul, Jade and Floyd swam off in different directions. Floyd's powerful tail pushed the both of you through the water at a near-alarming speed, making you laugh in an adrenaline-fueled manner. You looked over Floyd's shoulder to see most of the hero team swimming towards you both at a much slower rate. Floyd soon stopped and started to float in the water, guarding you in his arms like a precious treasure.
"You'll never take Koi fishie from me!" He growled out, baring his teeth with a laugh.
"Are you sure about that?" Riddle smirked. "You're surrounded."
In a flash, Riddle, Trey, Cater and Kalim had encircled Floyd, slowly drawing closer with no escape. It's too bad that your 'captors' had planned for this. Floyd smiled even wider, lifting you up by the hips, and called out to Jade. With strong arms, he tossed you over to his brother, who caught you gently with steel cable-like arms. As you flew through the air, you couldn't help but laugh at the 'heroes' shocked faces.
"It seems you're stuck with me now." Jade smiled, quickly swimming off with Jamil and Ortho giving chase.
The merman was holding you in a bridal-style carry, whipping his tail through the water, dodging Ortho and Jamil's tries to grab and save you.
You waved lazily at them. "Oh no. I've been caught. Dear heroes, please save me." You spoke, completely deadpan.
You could hear Jade's chest vibrate from a chuckle as he continued to race through the water. A glance towards his back showed Azul setting up for a catch while Floyd taunted poor Riddle. Trey and Cater were quickly swimming over to help Jamil and Ortho, who were quickly catching up.
So they're handicapping themselves for this. Probably 'cause it wouldn't be as fun.
"Don't worry (Y/N), I'll save you!" Ortho called out, his motors whirring as he started to speed up, nearly brushing your hand as Jade quickly dodged.
"It's not polite to lie, Ortho." Jade called out as you braced yourself for another toss. "There's simply no way for you to win."
In a quick, smooth motion, you flew through the air once more to be caught by Azul. You laughed and ruffled his hair in joy, undeniably pleased from all this throwing. For whatever reason, being tossed through the air filled you with pinks and yellows of a childish happiness, making you giggle, adrenaline-drunk, with glee.
"Please don't mess up my hair." Azul sighed, resigned. He shifted you around in his arms for a better ease of movement as Riddle drew in near with a dangerous glare.
The position he landed on was you, held by the waist in one arm as you were slung over his shoulder. He then took off, not as fast as Jade or Floyd, but still faster than your supposed future saviours. Soon enough, he let them catch up, then threw you through the air to Floyd.
And so the cycle continued, you happily being thrown in the air while the hero team eventually slowed down, exhausted. Not ones' to lose, they congregated into a circle on the shore to discuss plans, while you stayed fixed in Floyd's arms. Jade and Azul soon joining you as you all watched the hero team plan.
"I wonder how they'll approach us this time." Jade simpered with an everpresent smile.
Azul scoffed. "This is such a stupid game. How on earth are they going to win?"
Unfortunately for them, Azul just jinxed the 'villain' team. Malleus, Lilia and Silver, returning from a beach combing exploration, went over to the hero team. Kalim waved his hands around and suddenly, it seemed that the Diasomnia boys joined the hero team. Their discussion continued with even more fervor, a dark shadow appearing over their group as they started to scheme.
"Wow. You really just screwed yourself over, Azul." You deadpanned, unbothered by any of this.
Floyd hugged you closer to him in glee. "Now it's gonna be super fun! Too bad none of them will steal you from me..."
A dark chuckle. "No. They won't win against us, right Azul?"
His glasses flashed. "I think it's time to think of a different plan."
You laughed as Floyd darted through the waves, waving at Malleus, Silver and Lilia who were closing in on you. Sadly for them, Floyd picked up even more speed. Beads of water flew through the air as the waves splashed into the Diasomnia group. Meanwhile, Jade tried to shake off a persistent group of Heartslabyul boys, Azul facing the same problem with Kalim and Jamil.
"Return (Y/N) to us, mortal, and your punishment will be lessened." Malleus glared, picking up speed.
"There's no way for you to win, Floyd, so just give up." Lilia added with a chuckle.
Silver stayed silent, a dark look on his face as he swam even faster, nearly managing to grab you off of Floyd. Floyd laughed in amusement and quickly changed directions. Jade and Azul started swimming towards the center of the ocean alongside you and Floyd. Though you were, of course, a limp spectator in this competition. Still, it was fun to move so quickly through the water, you giggled as Floyd started to go even faster.
The three of them met in the middle, the others not far behind. Azul scowled as Jade grabbed you from Floyd, manhandling you into his arms.
"Ready?" Azul asked, "They're closing in."
True to his statement, the group of 'heroes' were quickly getting closer. Riddle looked triumphant, while Trey and Cater's eyes shone with determination to 'save' you.
I guess it's time for my plan to come into action, too.
There was no way you were playing damsel in distress. No matter how fun it was to go fast and be thrown around, this objectification was too much to bear. Thank god for Idia, who had seen your rapid signing and silently gathered Ruggie and Rook to the shore. You smiled to yourself. This rescue plan was going to work.
"Hand (Y/N) over, criminals! We're here to save her, there's no escape!" Malleus boomed with a smirk.
"Isn't there?" Jade smiled in reply, "It seems you weren't paying enough attention."
In that quick amount of time, Azul and Floyd had tied up their legs in the seaweed from the ocean floor. They struggled, shocked.
And now it was your time to shine.
"Yeah. There's no need for you heroes!" You smiled, a steely look in your eyes. "I can save myself just fine, thanks."
In one quick motion, you grabbed Jade's arms, throwing him over your shoulder by using his body weight. The eel barreled into Floyd and Azul, knocking them out. Whip-quick, you swam off, darting through the waves with a laugh as you approached the shore.
A look over your shoulder, the boys were catching up. Floyd, Jade and Azul were closest, but the others were pulling on them to slow them down. It soon turned into an all-out war as they fought to get near to you, either to 'save' or 'capture' you. Too bad.
With a smile and a wave, you ran onto the shore. Idia and Ruggie grinned and guarded you as you approached the win-point. You hit the tree with your hand and beamed.
"I win!" You said in a sing-song tone.
The boys were stunned.
Trey laughed first. "Yeah, you did! Well done."
The others joined in, heaping you with praise as your heart fluttered in joy. Butterflies in your stomach as you all started to chat about your plan and your win. Ruggie ruffled your hair while Idia gave you a smile in support.
It was a fun day.
[1] Chinese hell is cold, dark and damp. Basically the opposite to traditional perception of Christian hell. And there are multiple hells! Lovely ^^ [2] Generally, Chinese eating tendencies is that the best and most food goes to children, then the elderly, then the adults. Portion sizes also tend to be quite small for adults/teens, at least compared to US portion sizes. MC is exaggerating when calling the boys younger tho... it's the innate mom instinct lmao [3] Queen of Swans... get it.... cuz MC's so graceful but can also be very fierce? Also cuz swans = romance and Rook is definitely noticing the reverse harem shenangians
Just a fun fact, kids/babies get so happy from being thrown because it helps strengthen their bodies against gravity. It also strengthens a kid's sense of balance and motion. I wonder why MC likes it now uwu
and here is the third part of the beach ep. if you'd like to read the rest of the fic, you can read it on ao3 here, and on quotev here.

Chapter 3 to 10 are posted on AO3, Wattpad and Quotev :3
Read the trailer chapter before reading this one if you haven't (it's a mix between the story summary and a chap so you need to read it before this one)
You just stared at the blue screen with a look of pure confusion and horror, not quite understanding the words the screen just said. "What?" you asked once again, still not fully comprehending the situation." run that by me again?"
You questioned while rubbing your temples as if to help you wake up from some crazy dream.
The system, whose name is Jin Xian, looked at you nervously before explaining once more.
You took a deep breath and tried not to lose it."So what you're saying is, there's a bug that's currently hiding in all the manhwas and novels I read for the last few years now and it's probably aiming to kill them all for some unknown reason?"
It hesitates before nodding slowly, "Yeah.. I guess you could put it that way"
"...And you want me to take care of it right?"
"...Y...Yes." It said awkwardly.
"And can I ask why you or whoever you work for haven't done anything about it until now?"
"We tried.." the system answered sadly, "But we just couldn't detect its exact location or even track down where it originally came from. There wasn't anything to pinpoint exactly. But then the people in charge decided that the best course of action was to let us deal with the situation ourselves while they search for another solution, so they decided to send the best world-hoppers to those worlds to try and stop it from spreading, those people are considered the best of the best, all their worlds missions were successful so far with a SSS ranking, of course only the higher ranking systems get those hosts while we low ranking ones have to look for temporary hosts with zero experience." it paused for a moment, before continuing, "So here we are"
It pouted as it said that sentence."Why do I always get stuck with the lowest rank?"
You raised an eyebrow at it." Because you're an idiot, you couldn't even get the right person to be your host, a simple task that should have been easy enough for systems of all rankings and you still failed, no wonder your rank is so low." you snapped in annoyance.
"...That... might be a tad harsh, miss..." it admitted sheepishly. it's been called a lot worse, especially recently, but it still hurt. it might be a robot but it has feelings ok?!
"So now that everything is clear, we need to start moving now! The more time we waste, the faster the bug will spread."
It was silent for a moment before you gave the cheerful Xian a small smile.
"No."
You stated with finality.
"...what?" the system replied in confusion." What do you mean no?"
"Look, as much as I want to meet the characters and go through the quests to get to the bug's location I can't, I have a life here and I'm guessing this mission of yours is gonna be pretty dangerous right?" you gave it a stern stare."So I'm sorry, but I like being alive and I'm not gonna risk it for some fantasy."
"But... but mis-" it attempted to explain, desperate to convince you, "You can't just-"it tried to speak, only to be cut off.
"This mission needs someone intelligent and dedicated, and I assure you I'm neither of these things." You continued to reason, ignoring the obvious pleading tone of your companion. You chuckled, giving the poor thing a comforting smile before continuing."tell you what, I'll pretend that all that happened today was a terrific fever dream and you'll go and look for an actual host that suits you, how about that?"
"But-!"
"Goodbye~! Have a good hunt!" you said as you grabbed it and throw it out the window and closed it shut."I wish you luck!" the room fell into silence again, only the whirring sound of the air conditioning filling the room.
You sighed in relief." Finally." you said, ready to forget the shit that just happened.
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that, my dear host." a cold voice sounded from behind you as a chill run down your spine.
'Fuck.'
Didn't expect to actually write a chapter after the trailer one but oh well hope you like it 🌻
I posted this on Wattpad too and might post it on AO3 as well.

Happy Birthday (Vash x GN!Reader)
Plot: You find yourself on a furry side quest and it turns into a very special birthday celebration that Vash puts on for you.
Series: Tempest Wind, but made to work as a oneshot
Pairing: Vash x GN!Reader
Raiting: Everyone
Tags: domestic fluff, doting, cat adventure, cooking, bathing, tickling, banter, general cuteness, established relationship
Word count: 2.5k
Author's Note: This is actually a modified chapter from Tempest Wind written based on the prompts given to me by my readers on Quotev and Tumblr. It turned out too cute imo to not share with a general audience.
"Look, Red!" you grab onto Vash's sleeve with a gasp. "It's a cat!"
Vash leans towards you, still sucking on the strawberry ice cream, his other arm around a paper bag filled with all kinds of groceries. His eyebrows raise in surprise as he too catches sight of the small black tail slinking around the corner.
"I haven't seen one in so long!" You have already let go of him again and pay no mind as you follow the little shadow into the alley. You hear rustling coming from the trash surrounding a bin and approach cautiously, eager to get a better look at the mysterious creature.
"Pspspsps!" you try to call it out of the pile, but all that does is make them freeze. "You must be starving."
You jump up again just as Vash appears around the corner, he looks relaxed as he shoves the last bit of his pink treat into his mouth. You stand on your tiptoes to reach your arm into the bag he carries and dig around until you find the ham, folded up in waxy paper. You unravel it carefully and pull out a slice before giving the rest back into Vash's outstretched hand.
You return to the rustling mound and extend your hand with the meat, waiting for the breeze to carry the scent to the animal.
"Don't be scared! You can have all this and more; just come out." You speak softly, and Vash smiles tenderly at your antics. "Come out, little one! We won't hurt you!"
You squat patiently as the shifting of the trash gets closer to you, and a little black head pops out from underneath. The nose is just as jet black as the coat, but large green eyes look back at you with a mixture of fear and curiosity. You don't move, and Vash observes that you don't even breathe as you wait for the kitten to come closer. It takes a few careful steps towards you, cautiously sniffing the air, and the smell of ham seems to triumph over any hesitation. They bite into the ham and try to run away, but as you hold on to the slice, they have to remain where they are and bite off pieces. The black cat still looks uneasy and chews while trying to make scary noises, but you remain still and calm. Vash's eyes move between the two of you, observing the precious moment. The cat relaxes as the hunger pains lessen and even starts rubbing their head on your hand. That's when you scoop them up.
"Hey, little guy. You're cute!" You lift them up so they are level with your eyes. "Where did you come from?"
You stand up, and the little creature purrs loudly as you stroke its soft fur. You go up to Vash and present your new friend. He lowers his head and smiles at the adorable little creature. His free hand reaches out and his finger moves underneath one of the front paws. Your man gives the kitten a little handshake.
"Nice to meet you!" He smiles brightly and then scratches their head.
"I wonder if they have a home..." you say a little sadly as you let the creature climb onto your shoulder. The kitten purrs happily and nuzzles into your neck, feeling like it belongs there.
"I don't know, but we can ask around," Vash says softly, giving you a reassuring smile.
You spend an hour asking the townsfolk about the little stray kitten, but nobody has an answer as to how it got there or who it belongs to. You decide to put your search on hold as you still have your groceries with you. With a heavy heart, you head back to your toma to go and look for a place to stay the night, but that's when you see a little poster on the side of a building with a familiar black furry face. It's a missing cat poster that comes with an address pointing to the edge of town, and that's where you head.
You knock on the door, and the person who answers is a middle-aged woman who looks very tired. Her eyes shift between you and Vash as the man opens his mouth.
"Hello! We're here because we saw your poster." Vash smiles brightly, his bubbly personality overflowing.
"Oh... Did you find her?!" The woman perks up with hope and looks more intently to see if you have the kitten.
"Yes, we ran into them on the street," you say softly, and you reach out to tickle the bottom of Vash's hood. A moment later, the black cat pops their head out from where they have been sleeping ever since you fetched your birds.
"You found her!" The woman is overjoyed and reaches out to pick the animal up from Vash's shoulder. "I was so scared! My little granddaughter left her in my care when she and my daughter moved to September! I don't know what I would have done if anything had happened to her. How can I repay you?!"
"It was our pleasure," Vash says with his regular calm demeanor, and you nod.
"Are you travelers? I don't think I've seen you around here before."
"We're just passing through, indeed," Vash replies with a smile.
"Do you have somewhere to stay?" The woman continues.
"We were just about to go find ourselves a room somewhere."
"No need! You can stay here; my daughter's room is free. Come, come, I insist!" The woman takes Vash's sleeve and pulls him inside; with her other hand, she cradles the kitten.
Vash shrugs while looking at you and enters with you close behind. As you enter the cozy room, you can't help but feel grateful for the woman's generosity. It's nothing fancy, but it's warm and inviting. She helps you settle in, and the little black kitten follows you around like a shadow even after you insist that you have no more ham to give to her. Vash tells you to take it easy while he tends to the birds for a change, and you take the opportunity to play with your furry friend. It has been a while since Vash has dealt with the toma and their gear so extensively, and you had used your own little knots and quirks for securing everything, so he fiddles for quite a bit with everything while chatting with the woman. The topic of birthdays comes up, and Vash thinks back to his childhood on the ship and the wonderful first birthday Rem threw for him and Nai. He doesn't think much about birthdays, despite the happy memory. Today is your birthday, and he got some treats from the market, yet he feels like you deserve so much more than just some rare jerky and dried fruit.
As he comes back inside with the woman, he realizes that the house is completely silent. He begins to worry that something may be wrong and walks up to the bedroom door where he last left you to be met with you sprawled out on the bed, fast asleep, and the kitten curled up in the crook of your neck.
"They must've been very tired. Let's let them rest; they has a trustworthy little guard with them to keep watch over their dreams," the quiet voice of the woman says as she gently pulls the door closed.
Vash does check up on you a few times, peeking in through the tiniest crack of the door to make sure you're okay. Each time he finds you in a different position, as you seem to toss and turn a lot, the covers a mess on the bed, and the tiny cat is always either somewhere on or around you. He leaves with a smile on his face to return to his little project he got the opportunity to delve into.
Vash has just lathered the first layer of biscuit with a thick layer of cream when you step out of the bedroom. Your face seems a bit groggy to him, but you return his smile with a warm one of your own. You walk up to him and wrap your arms around his waist, resting your head against his back.
"Hey, Sweet Pea," he says quietly. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm good," you reply, hugging him tighter. "What are you up to?"
"Nothing much; don't worry about it," he replies with amusement.
"Really? Cause to me, it looked like you're making a cake," you chuckle and start to sway him softly from side to side. "What's the occasion?"
"Well..." He trails off, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. "It's your birthday today!"
"What? Is it really?" You say softly as you peek around his side to catch a glimpse of his face, and he sends you a goofy smile. "Oh, Sprout... You are too sweet. I didn't even realize how fast time flies."
You release him to stand beside him and lean over the table to have a closer look at what he's doing.
"Want any help?" you ask cheerfully as you turn to him.
"I might need your guidance, but I think you need a hairnet or something," he chuckles, his hands covered in icing. "Your hair is getting dangerously close to my masterpiece."
"What...?" You get a confused look on your face and reach up to touch your hair to find it in an absolute mess. Your cheeks flush crimson, and you go closer to a shiny pot on the edge of a cabinet to look at the birds nest on your head from all the tossing you did in your sleep. You groan at the thought of having to brush this through, but then start laughing instead.
"I look like a crazy person!" You chuckle.
"Are you considering a new hairdo?" Vash asks calmly, with an adoring smile on his lips.
"Why do you ask?" You turn to him. "Don't you like it? Wouldn't you love me if I looked like this?"
You look at him pleadingly as you creep closer. "What is it? I love you for who you are, not how you look. Is it not like that for you?"
"What?! Of course it is!" He seems surprised and assures with a resolute tone: "I love you for you, not your appearance."
"Okay..." you grab hold of his arm, wrapping both of yours around his tightly. "But would you still love me if I was a worm?"
His eyes widen in shock, but he quickly responds, "Even if you were a worm, my love for you would never change."
You laugh at his response and give him a tight hug. You see the smear of icing on his cheek, and pull him closer. He leans towards you, and you take the opportunity to lick the icing off him and gently bite the rosy flesh, causing him to chuckle too, before playfully touching the tip of his nose to yours.
After you fix your bedhead, you return to Vash's side and help him assemble the cake. Once the masterpiece is complete, you both look at it with pride, yet you have swiped enough frosting and leftover biscuit that you are willing to let it sit for a bit. You stand in front of Vash, his arms wrapped around you.
"Oh yeah... I meant to ask. Where's the..." you stop as you realize you don't know the name of the woman living here.
"Ann left, she said she has business in town and she would be back later." Vash's nose digs into the helix of your ear. "You wanna know what else she said? Apparently this town has a water purification system. And that means we can take a bath."
"Ooooooh!" You exclaim excitedly, but your tone quickly changes. "AAAAAH!"
Vash's nimble fingers dance across every spot he knows is ticklish for you, and he has you wiggling in his grasp as you laugh uncontrollably. You try to push his strong arms away, and do indeed manage to twist out of his reach. But Vash quickly grabs you again, determined to continue the tickle attack. To his detriment, you are now in a better position for a counterattack and choose not to show him any mercy as you launch your assault, your fingers digging into the space between his ribs, causing him to squirm and laugh uncontrollably. It doesn't take long for Vash to stumble over his long legs and tumble backward, dragging you along with him. You find yourself on top of him, his arms protectively around you to make sure you don't hurt yourself in the fall, and both of you continue laughing uncontrollably. You lay your ear on his chest and hear the racing of his heart as he holds you close. His right arm wraps around your upper back, his fingertips resting on the side of your neck, and he feels the rhythm pulsating in your veins. He places a kiss on the top of your head and feels your heart seemingly skipping a beat.
Vash covers you in kisses before getting both of you to your feet again and dragging you to the bathroom, where he starts preparing the bath, carefully choosing a temperature and adding bubbles. You sit on the edge and watch him as he stirs the water and picks up two towels. He insists you stay where you are as he hurries around getting everything ready for a relaxing bath. And that includes the strange foreign snacks you found in town. He looks very proud of himself as he brings in a chair and then sets a tray on top of it next to the tub. He has laid out the different cookies and dried meats and fruits you had paid an arm and a leg for. He even brought a bottle of wine and two glasses. He shuts the faucet and turns to you with mischief in his eyes.
"Noh, strip, birthday girl." He laughs.
"Shouldn't you be stripping for me on this special occasion?" You reply with amusement.
"No, I didn't mean like this. Naughty, naughty," he chuckles, but the heat in his ears reveals his slight flusterdness.
After some more banter and helping each other get rid of your clothes, you find yourself in the tub, laying on his chest with his long legs to either side of you. It is a tight fit, but you enjoy the closeness of his arm around you. You try out the different things you had bought from the market; some of them you would rather have left for someone else, but the wine fits your palette well. You savor the flavors and textures, talking with each other in quiet voices.
"Happy birthday, Sweet Pea!" he whispers into your ear as he places a kiss on your cheek. You smile and thank him, feeling grateful for him putting so much effort into this day.
Once the bathwater gets cold and all the good snacks are out, the two of you get out, determined to go and get a piece each from the cake you made. You exit the bathroom wrapped in your towels, only to be met with an unexpected sight. There is your cake in the middle of the table, but now it has a black furry topper who happily sleeps in the midst of pink frosting.
