You had bought it as a joke.
You and your friend had decided to go inside the inconspicuous-looking sex shop for fun, and she had dared you to buy the fuzzy pink handcuffs. You, not one to back down from a challenge, grabbed them and paid for them with your head held high. It wasn’t supposed to see the light of day; you had thought it would collect dust in your closet for months.
So to see them dangling from Buck’s fingers, paired with a smirk on his face, was not what you had expected to see when you walked into your shared apartment.
“What’s this, babe?” Buck, ever the shit-stirrer, asks.
“‘S nothing”, you mumble, trying to grab it from Buck, but he raises it high so you can’t reach.
“Do you wanna try it out tonight?” Buck then questions genuinely, looking deep in your eyes to gauge your interest.
You nod slowly but surely, because you can already feel your body react at the thought of using them with Buck.
“On me or on you?”
You bite your lip and respond hoarsely, “on you, if you’re okay with that.”
“I’m very okay with that.” Buck grins cheekily.
Which brings you to right now: Buck naked, both hands cuffed and resting over his head on his king-sized bed. You’re straddling him, riding him, and Buck is a whimpering mess. Not being able to hold onto you, whether it was your hips, your thighs, or your breasts, was sweet torture for him.
You switch your angle by digging your knees into the mattress, resting your hands on Buck's chest before lifting and slamming back down. Both of you come almost simultaneously with this new position, and Buck as usual, comes a lot. It slowly seeps out of you from the sheer volume, and both of you stare at it, stare at where the two of you are still joined, transfixed.
Just as you're about to dismount and uncuff him, Buck interrupts you.
"Sit on my face, babe. I want to taste how good we are together."
God bless those fuzzy pink handcuffs.

'sabrina carpenter is soooo male gaze-y' okay name one female public figure who doesn't have to cater to the male gaze, at least to some extent, in order to maintain their position in the public eye. if you don't like her make-up or costumes that's fine but don't act like it's some salient feminist critique to say wearing lingerie makes you an instrument of patriarchy when every single female popstar has to conform to a certain standard of femininity to reach acclaim. there is certainly room for a convo about why we only listen to music and watch films when the women creatives involved have flawlessly styled hair and a full face of make-up and impracticable clothes on 25/8, and how these standards implicate women in general. but critiquing this one single individual woman for being an arbiter of patriarchy smacks of weirdness. like just say you don't like her hair and go we don't need to act like sabrina carpenter herself invented patriarchy

I have a theory that you love Sabrina Carpenter because she is closest person in mainstream media to doing what I consider classic/high femme. It's like her me and Dolly left ahaha(Even though we know that being high femme is not playing with gender and expectations at all and is much less cool than moving toward masculinity!)
Oh yeah, I don't even think this is a theory, it's just straight fact.
I've gone on tangents about how her performance of femininity is so deliberate and heightened it's almost the other side of drag. I, obviously, have an INTENSE amount of respect and appreciation for that kind of gender play, so it makes absolute sense why she's really captivated me in ways none of my prior pop favorites have. The way I see it there's three things she's doing:
1. Attention to detail.
Her team has really been meticulous about crafting her image in ways that are distinctive and specifically flattering to her. Instead of following the trends she's chosen to embrace silhouettes and vintage styles that emphasize and play to her strengths, all the while maintaining a specific image. She doesn't care about submitting to the expectations of others around her regarding her style, and in that way she is a trend-setter (CLASSIC CLASSIC high femme behavior).
2. Playing for the girls.
Her music/performance UNDOUBTEDLY centers women as its core audience. I'd almost characterize her songs as a female power fantasy, even though like 90% of her songs are about boys and love and relationships, they're more about her relationship with the concept of love/sex/dating than any partner (even when they are SPECIFICALLY about a specific guy cough Please Please Please).
It's really interesting to see and I don't know if I can do it justice when I try to describe it, but you can see it immediately if you watch her Short and Sweet tour - she's literally running around in lingerie for half of it and even getting into some really explicit sexual positions but it's oriented from the female gaze in a way that while raunchy it doesn't feel like...degrading? It's playful, it's sexually empowering - it's almost burlesque-like except without the stripping.
3. She's so incredibly fucking cute and I am so incredibly fucking gay.
I think the things that really stands out to me is it's such an intentional and deliberate love letter to femininity. Like her style and her music isn't really doing anything new outside of her specific cheeky type of humor, she's deliberately making references to famous actresses and songstress' in the past (for example, multiple references to  Goldie Hawn, the obvious Dolly inspiration in Short and Sweet, etc.). She's really, truly celebrating what it means to be a woman past, present, and future. Even in her sad and more vulnerable songs, she's coming at it almost from a place of solidarity of expressing specific facets of the female universal experience (Lie to Girls, Coincidence).
And as a butch woman, there is literally nothing in the world I love more than women and femininity.
Anyway I think you sent this more as a commentary on high femme and I kinda went off on a Sabrina tangent, but reiterating, I so completely agree, haha. You high femmes are doing the good work and I cannot thank you enough for it. Thank you so much for sending me this ask and allowing me to rant on main about this.

i think puritan and porn culture can coexist with how commodified sex is now, like we went from "anything sexy should be kept private" to "anything sexy should be behind a paywall"
this is definitely the correct yet unpopular opinion, which is why i see that take posited elsewhere and it feels like im in the twilight zone. i forget that the feminist analysis, that public sexual exploitation/sexualization of women everywhere (largely thanks to porn) and evangelism/modesty culture being two sides of the same coin is not the mainstream take. people dont realize that *fun, uwu rebellious* exploitation is still exploitation, just bc conservative men take issue with it bc they see all women as whores doesnt mean that all female celebrities sexualizing themselves all the time is an unalloyed good, especially when you dont see their male counterparts doing it. im seeing people go “damn, culture is so puritanical now because of our crazy right-wing lawmakers! anyway time go to watch sabrina carpenter mime fellatio on a microphone wearing a babydoll nighty on stage for a mainstream sold out tour for her mid music, la dee la!” just bc popular culture is swinging in the other extreme direction doesnt make it progressive, its just misogyny with a new flavor. come back to me when its men doing this shit and then we’ll call it counter-culture.
