OK I need you to point me to the nearest entry point into this fandom. I don’t know what this is, but you popped up on my dash.. and I need to know what this is. Please lead the way.
oh!! that's exciting. yes. okay!! wolf 359 is a science fiction audio drama about the isolated and questionably competent crew of a deep space research station, the u.s.s. hephaestus. the initial four characters are comms officer doug eiffel, 'everyman' pop culture guy who really, really hates his job; commander minkowski, who cares about her job and the rulebooks that come with it a little too much, and desperately wants to feel like she's keeping everything under control; dr. hilbert... eccentric? station medical officer and mad scientist whose methods and mission objectives are not entirely above board; and hera, the station's mother program, who struggles with her job and the ways she's perceived by others.
there are other characters who show up later - i would say only three of the above characters are "main" characters, while the actual fourth main character is introduced in s2 - but that requires way more context, and i don't want to get into spoilers, obviously.
wolf 359 is a character drama - it's my personal gold standard for character writing - and the brief descriptions i gave you are the most surface, surface level parts of them. the writers once said something about it, like... that they weren't interested in subverting typical sci-fi character archetypes so much as looking at them and asking "why would a real person behave that way?" and i think it really worked. whether i like them or not, they all feel like real people to me. it has great sound design and a lot of "physicality" in the performances for an audio-only show, which i think comes down to gabriel urbina's film background and the way the scripts are written and performed. (and alan rodi's incredible soundtrack and sense for music cues.) you can't see a lot of what's in the scripts, but they're acted out in a way that you can kinda feel it anyway. i love that.
here's a fan made trailer that i think captures a lot of the right energy. it's a show about a lot of things, but some of the primary themes are communication + music, and i think the collaborative nature of the show itself adds something very sincere to that. it's also about corporate and medical exploitation, resisting dehumanization, what makes us human, connection, identity and autonomy, guilt and accountability, the stories people tell themselves to justify who they are or what they feel it's necessary for them to do, and, of course, the enduring philosophical question: "what's wrong with handcuffs?"
you can check it out at the website i linked above, or anywhere you can listen to podcast feeds! it's free, but they added ads a few years ago, which i hate, so you can pay a dollar here for the ad-free feed if that'll make a big difference in your ability to enjoy it: https://www.patreon.com/Wolf359Radio
it's a sequential story, nothing you really need to know about listening order except that i recommend not skipping the mini episodes (they have important character context and are where they are in the feed for a reason) (with the exception of mission mishaps ones near the end; those are comedy bonus episodes you can listen to whenever) and that you should definitely watch the live show after ep 26 and listen to special episode change of mind between s3 and s4.
i also have a folder here of every recording script where i edited any parts that were different from the show's dialogue + added transcripts for the ones that didn't have available recording scripts, if that's something you'd find useful! i also recommend checking them out just to see what i mean about how they're written.
the first season is pretty short, so i'd say stick with it until at least episode 12/13 (two part finale) if you can - i love the first season, personally, but that's the point it really becomes serialized, and so that's where i think you can safely say if it's something that's going to capture your interest or not. ... and that's it! sorry this is kind of an essay, but i got excited about it. i hope you love the show, please keep me updated, and let me know if there's anything else!!

♥️ Ranking Richonne
#26: We Should Go To Washington (S5E09)
This moment - Powerful. Pivotal. Romantic. I’ve said before that I believe Rick and Michonne more fully fell in love with each other by the end of season 4. And to me, how they interact with each other throughout season 5 just further confirmed my theory, especially in this stunning episode 'What Happened And What's Going On.' And part of what's going on is Rick and Michonne falling for each other even more as they make a big game-changing decision rooted in the love and trust they've developed. I love that this is where Rick shows he would truly go the distance for Michonne...
(Sidenote: Now this scene ranking might be my most controversially-placed one because I know this is a very beloved classic Richonne scene that would understandably make a lot of ppl's Top 10s and even Top 5s. It’s a super significant moment between Rick and Michonne and I love it, I promise. Richonne's journey is just that abundant with top-10 worthy moments so I had to make some sacrifices on my list because I adore every second of every moment they’re on screen.😅)
So I already just love the way Rick and Michonne are color-coordinated in their brown outfits. So much of season 5 really established how R&M are a pair and each other's match.
And in this ep, Rick touches her, I believe, for the first time since she told him never to touch her again in s3., showing their growth and the strengthening of those magnets.
Something I appreciate about the Richonne 5B scenes that occur before they arrive at ASZ is that they really did an effective job of confirming the depth of their bond. During this period, we consistently see just how much Rick and Michonne's attraction to each other is more than skin-deep because they've built a genuine love and trust with each other.
They cement their partnership in so many ways during this time of searching for a home, and it's important to see this depicted before they enter ASZ because it lets you know that while there will be situations that could potentially cause a divide between them at Alexandria, it's 5B scenes like this Washington one that tell you Rick and Michonne's bond was too strong, too battle-tested, and too important to them for anything in ASZ to break it.
It’s also very clear throughout this season 5 mid-season premiere how much Michonne’s well-being is on Rick’s radar and really matters to him, and it becomes extra clear in this #26 scene here.
Michonne is making her case for why this place could maybe still work as a home, only to find that the community clearly was brutally attacked as severed body parts lay scattered around. Michonne is quietly disappointed as she walks and observes, and Rick’s attention immediately shifts to her as he follows behind her. It’s one of the clearest cases of their damn-near literal magnetic connection. 🧲
She doesn’t leave his sight. Even when Glenn says, "it doesn’t matter," Rick stays staring at Michonne. I love that their “you're okay, I'm okay” interconnectedness is so visible. Michonne isn’t okay, and that so clearly doesn’t sit well with Rick, so she’s top of mind for him in this scene.
Glenn starts speaking, and Rick peels himself away from looking at Michonne to hear Glenn share a very bleak perspective on how it wouldn’t matter who killed Dawn. Michonne turns around and pitches that they go to Washington. At the end of this season, a very special scene will have Rick admitting the way Michonne can influence his decisions, and this moment in 5.09 is an example of that.
Michonne turns to Rick and tells him they're close, and it's 100 miles away - and one thing I love about this point in their relationship is that she and Rick have established enough trust with each other that Michonne can be vulnerable enough to really show some raw emotion here and speak her mind.
Rick listens as Michonne questions what if there are people there and what if it’s a chance to be safe. “It’s a possibility. It’s a chance” This is the season of Michonne really wanting tf to find a home and I know so much of that would be rooted in the fact that she was one of the few who knows what it’s like to extensively wander out in the woods and go a bit mad. She doesn’t want that for her and her new family.
Michonne gets more emotional but still with such poise as she suggests going to Washington is better than just being out there and just making it since making it looks like all those bodies sprawled on the ground. I love that she’s pouring her heart out to him. And what a great man that Rick is so ready to not take this lightly and to really hear her.
And we get another one of those long lingering looks from Rick as he stares right at her, listening. The arresting effect she always has on him is gold, and I appreciate that he lets her words seep in. Especially when Michonne asks, “Don’t you want one more day with with a chance?”
Danai again slays the vulnerable delivery of that line and it’s also deep for Michonne to pose this question hoping Rick also wants to live and not just survive. This is important for her to know too because her last man had given up on trying to have one more day with a chance and so it’s great she gets this confirmation that Rick is different and far more aligned with her.
(Also watching s1 back, in the finale, Dr. Jenner asks what they want, and Rick says, “A chance.” which just further indicates how he and Michonne are cut from the same cloth)
Then I love the romantic way this next part plays out cuz the walkers draw near, Rick says we should go, and Glenn and Michonne think he means we should leave the area. So Michonne turns away thinking her words fell on deaf ears, but then Rick reveals no I heard you and I will go where you lead, when he repeats her words and says, "It’s 100 miles away...We should go to Washington."
Hearing this gets both Glenn and Michonne to stop in their tracks and turn to look at Rick Cuz this isn’t a choice Rick would make this quickly for just anyone. And Michonne’s look of surprise is so touching. I was just looking at this moment thinking - that’s right girl, he’d do anything for you.😊
I’ve always felt like in this scene Glenn is an adorable third wheel to the Richonne bubble because Rick is completely facing and staring at Michonne solely when he says this. It just makes it clear that he is declaring this because of her. Like of course he wants to secure a home for his whole family, but in this moment what's especially evident is Rick wants to give a home to Michonne.
So Rick makes this big decision for the group fully based on what Michonne thinks is best and once again it really was giving romantic when he looked right at her and said, "We should go to Washington."
And then Michonne's subtle smile...that’s an “I love this man” reaction, y’all. Better yet, she's looking at Rick like...
I appreciate how Rick and Michonne’s love for each other makes them do things differently, because while in the past it was said by Lori that Rick would never just go somewhere on a hunch, here he’s showing that he would go somewhere and bring all of tf with him if Michonne’s instincts say it’s a good move.
I love that here Rick can’t help but be so focused and in tune with her and Michonne can’t help but look at him with so much love. Again she gets confirmation Rick is different from her past and cut from the same cloth as her. The way Rick looks at her and looks away, I really feel like it’s a brief moment of him knowing that he so swiftly agreed to this for and because of her because he loves her. Whipped in the best healthiest way.
It's also great watching scenes like these back and knowing Rick is looking at the woman who he will go onto happily make his wife, and Michonne is looking at the man she will fully embrace as her husband. 🥰
All of Rick and Michonne's s5 scenes suggest that they had fallen for each other and were becoming more and more aware of how special and influential they were in each other's lives. And this moment was a beautiful illustration of what Richonne means to each other and what they’ll do for each other. Scenes like these - weighty, quiet, but full of love, just solidify that this is a beautiful love story for the ages. 😌

Charting the Course of B&B : How It Began
For nobody's sake but mine, I have decided to chart out the progress of the B&B relationship through the seasons.
Seasons 1 to 3: Keyword - 'Trust'
The foundational seasons, where the ever simmering physical attraction kept smashing up against the wall of 'I just don't understand this guy/girl'. But more importantly, the seasons where both of them, much to their shock, find that their partnership bears immediate fruit. And that the walls they keep around everyone else somehow don't seem to hold up in front of each other.
The graph below charts their attraction and trust levels over the 3 seasons through pivotal points where their partnership either grew or retreated significantly. It's my opinion that fledgling romantic feelings were present during this phase, but neither of them were aware of it.
Representation:
Milestones considered:
S1 - Point 1: "I knew you wouldn't make me a liar" (S1E5)
S1 - Point 2: Rescue from Kenton/"Why are you so nice to me?" (S1E15/E19)
S1 - Point 3: "With each shot we all die a little bit, Bones"/"I know who you are" (S1E21/E22)
S2 - Point 1: "Tony and Roxie" (S2E8)
S2 - Point 2: "I knew you wouldn't give up" (S2E9)
S2 - Point 3: "Everything happens eventually"/Rescue from Gallagher (S2E16/E18)
S2 - Point 4: Zack leaves for the Army/Max gets arrested/Aborted Hodgela wedding (S2E21)
S3 - Point 1: "Making love vs crappy sex" (S3E3)
S3 - Point 2: Smurfette/"I love my gift Booth"/"You are a fully developed man" (S3E7/E9/E11)
S3 - Point 3: Baby Andy/Max's trial/Checkerbox pre-shooting (S3E12/E13/E14)
S3 - Point 4: Booth's 'death'/Zack as Gormogon apprentice (S3E15)
Season 4: Keyword - 'Emotional Intimacy'
This where things start getting COMPLICATED. They start off rough, with Brennan having her walls up again after the deception of Booth's death. But when the last of the walls fall by the end of Con Man in the Meth Lab, the emotional enmeshment is cemented. The UST is also off the charts.
By the time this season ends, the trust between them has reached it's zenith. The attraction has never wavered, but this season is where the romantic feelings start to make their presence seriously felt. It's quite obvious that Dr. Wyatt was referring to Brennan when he posited that one of them was clearly aware of their feelings and struggled with it daily. Booth was deeper in denial even though he had brought Brennan completely into his life, his family and his history. Writing the story at Booth's bedside was Brennan's way of coping with the strength of her feelings which she didn't have the courage to examine or name. Perhaps she felt that putting a label to how she felt for Booth in a fictional world would exorcise the turmoil in the real world. Perhaps it was the only way she had to admit to herself.
Representation:
Milestones considered:
Ep 3: "There's someone for everyone, Bones, you just have to be open to see it."/"What's wrong with a surrogate relationship?"
Ep. 5: "You know the reviews to my books Booth, but do you read them?" "Every single word."
Ep. 9: "My father drank."
Ep. 11: 'Look at my little boy there, with your dad."
Ep. 14: Gravedigger rescue. Needs no explanation.
Ep. 21: Sharing of metaphorical scars, adopting their baby duck. There is no going back for either of them now.
Ep. 25: Brennan's baby, Booth's sperm. "Something is wrong Booth, trust me!"
Ep. 26: "You love someone, you open yourself up to suffering, that's the sad truth. Maybe they'll break your heart, maybe you'll break their heart and never be able to look at yourself in the same way. Those are the risks. That's the burden."
In the next instalment:
Season 5: Keyword - 'Devotion'
Season 6: Keyword - 'Inner Demons'
#bones tv#bonestv#booth x brennan#seeley booth#temperance brennan#i cant even to begin to explain why i wanted to do this

In S1 in House of Identity/House of Emergency (ep. 26 & 27) towards the end of the episode, there is a piece of dialogue which hurts so much more in hindsight:
Nina: it’s my fault that Alfie’s in the hospital. Fabian: No, no it’s not. Patricia should never have left that bottle in her bag. Nina: Don’t you understand? I’m like some curse. I was the one who was given the locket. I found the cylinders. I wish I could just go back in time and turn down the scholarship. [cut to S3 where Nina doesn't come back.]
#house of anubis#nina martin#fabian rutter#i'm not okay ಥ_ಥ#this dialogue punched me in the stomach kicked me in the shin pushed me on the road and then ran me over with a truck#Nina's story is a goddamn TRAGEDY#also that's a nice little hint that foreshadows who the chosen one is writers :) (fucking hate u rn)#chosen one = curse HAS BEEN THERE SINCE THE BEGINNING!#WHEN I TELL YOU I SCREECHED LIKE A BANSHEE

Just two roomies kissin’ on a Ford. What America was built on.
The last two episodes of wtsf s3 have been living rent free in my head ever since they dropped because wow, what the fuck, so have an old, kinda crappy sketch of what I imagined part of the last scene of ep 26 to look like. Ed’s tattoos are missing from this, I still don’t have a consistent picture of them in my head but I’ll probably add them to this thing if I ever get myself to finish it. I might actually make a comic of the two episodes, maybe that’ll make me tired of them and kick them out of my brain.

WAIT DONT TAKE MY FAV EPISODES AS LIKE A WATCHLIST.... i have a good watchlist (S1 EP1 - S3 EP 26, you can just watch any episodes that have Marceline or Billy in it. they're usually good + plot relevant, and feel free to skip whatever you feel because its. gestures. very Kids show. but The Witches Garden is also a classic comedy one so i'd reccomend it. anyway s3 ep26 is Incendium and i wouldn't really skip any episodes after that 👍)
ive all all of AT already I was jist lookin for eps to rewatch ^.^

hi mish <3 very fun youre asking about evil instead of like. succ or something lol 33 - favorite character arc i genuinely love sheryl's s4 character arc. i genuinely had distaste for her all throughout s1 - s3 but s4 was something magical . she was so cunty and fun and was totally redeemed by the end of it for me. sheryl luria i miss you everyday babe 26 - showrunner's missed opportunity oh i really dont have much beef w/ the kings. like most of the super fun stuff they did....i loved it. not many missed swings. i think s3 in general moved a little slow and i wish there had been a better introduction to kristen's lawyer friend - she just kind of appears like we're supposed to know who she is. 18 - favorite episode ok two episodes bc i love them both and they're back to back. c is for cop + s is for silence. woah. what an amazing look at their range of skill. c is for cop is this absolutely fantastic episode about us police brutality and white privilege and somehow manages to tie into major character arcs while they do it. s is for silence is a silent field trip ep to a monastery that takes a total different direction in tone and pushing character dynamics and just being FUN. i think it was around that episode when i was like oh okay evil is one of the best shows on tv right now.

Regressuary 2025 Prompts
The way I did these prompts is a little different than last time, so let me explain real quick.
I was inspired by another person I saw here on Tumblr that did their prompts based on song titles, so I decided do something similar, but with episode titles from some of the TV shows I watch instead! This is also the perfect way to give everyone a chance to have a bit more free reign with their imagination.
Oh! And just to clarify: you don't have to stick with only the characters from the fandoms mentioned, you can choose any pairing from any fandom for the prompt. I hope that explains things well, but if not, feel free to comment on this post or message me with any questions you may have.
Good luck to everyone in February, and I can't wait to see all of your wonderful agere creations! 🫶🎀

currents.26[2024]
[listening]
"December 32 days" cover / Onew on Song Stealer
"Glorious Day" / Kim Jae Joong
"My One" / B.D.U.
[loving]
The last five minutes of episode 22, Follow Your Heart. I should have seen it coming, but I did not. Can't wait to see the fallout.
[reading]
The AO3 July/August DDoS Attacks: Behind the Scenes - A quick read, and an interesting look at the timeline of what happened last year.
Idol Minds and Idol Moves by KT Salvo - the first two books in a m/m contemporary romance trilogy - One thing I loved about these books is how different the two main characters feel. I have read too many m/m romances where the two leads were almost interchangeable. The third book is out in August and I've already preordered.
[watching]
Bridgerton s3, pt 2 {finished: 4 stars for the full season} - I wish they'd either aired the full season at once or week to week. That break in the middle did it no favors. But the second half was satisfying and fun to watch.
Deep Night {finished: 3.5 stars} - A rare college BL that spends most of its time off campus. I loved that. The club and its staff/patrons all felt lived in and fleshed out. Having the second pairing love triangle end in a throuple was fantastic, but the fact that we only saw the very beginning of that relationship makes me wish we had a second season coming. Or at least, some future fic.
Follow Your Heart, ep 1-22 - I have loved both leads in previous dramas (Luo Yunxi and Song Yi), so I was hopeful when I started it. And I was not disappointed. It's such a fun show. I thought it was just a historical/palace drama, but then they sprung shapeshifting on us. (Anyone else think for a hot second she was a werewolf??) The characters are all great and the different narratives feel balanced across the board.
Sunset x Vibes, ep 3 - Even the silly scenes aren't bothering me, which is a feat. Sun is the biggest (softest) tease ever and I love him.

Emerald's Watches: Disventure Camp: All-Stars (S3) [PT.2: Ep's 12-21]
Ok, I'm caught up on the show now (spin-offs aside) and man oh man do I have thoughts on this season's second half. I had 24 hours to process my thoughts on this season after watching it.
And honestly, I really enjoyed this season. But it wasn't until Episode 11/12 when things began to...feel off. Specifically the writing choices. As the season reached it's finale, every writing the writers made felt like they were trying really hard to subvert expectations/outcomes. And as a result, it ended up being a bumbling mess. It all culminates in a finale that..in my opinion, absolutely SUCKED. It was climatic and felt like it an ending for all of these characters after 3 seasons of competing...but it failed in finishing off strong with a good winner & resolution.
I've spent all last month watching this show and this is the first time where I can't even give credit to the finale for wrapping things up cuz it couldn't be bothered to AT LEAST finish off on the highest note. And that sucks, cuz this season came the closest to being near perfect. Those early episodes were so fucking good, but unfortunately it fell apart once the merge kicked off. Combine that with some very unlikable characters reaching the end and NOT ending things on a positive note...it just felt...off. It felt incomplete.
I REALLY hope S4 turns this shit around as the writers embark on a new journey with a new cast & 26 episodes.
I'll keep tuning in for the show cuz now I'm invested. IDK if I'll post about my thoughts on the spin-offs yet. We'll see.
No clue what show I'll watch next but I'll keep you posted. Thx a bunch for reading these if ya did. This was fun^^
And last but not least, my final tier list ft. the S3 cast.

Voyager rewatch s3 ep 26: Scorpion pt 1
AKA, the beginning of All The Borg Crap. I do not love the Borg- I don't really like any of Voyager's continuing villains, but I've had issues with the Borg as a concept since Next Gen, and I feel like all the additional spotlight on them in Voyager just shone an even more glaring light on their flaws, but this particular episode was actually pretty decent, and better than I remembered.
For one thing, there wasn't a lot of actual Borg in it, just a lot of the crew preparing to face them, which has enough dramatic tension in and of itself. In any given episode, you know the crew is going to face a life and death scenario at some point, that's just how Star Trek, and most sci-fi, works, and you accept it as the status quo of the genre and don't think about it a lot. With the Borg, however, they're facing a fate much worse than death, and it's actually just really stressful to watch characters you love have to deal with the gnawing, existstential dread of that. Like, hmm, do I really want to think about my beloved space family facing the prospect of being turning into mindless zombie slaves? No! I do not! And the fact that Starfleet could literally have stopped the Borg forever, and didn't, because they felt sorry for them, makes it all ten times worse- but my burning hatred of the ending of 'I, Borg' is the subject for another post someday, when I do another full rewatch of TNG.
I liked the little scenes of Janeway on the holodeck in DaVinci's studio; the set is very detailed, and pretty, and they have a cozy, meditative atmosphere that acts as a nice counterbalance to the existential Borg dread and frenetic activity of basically arming themselves for war.
Having a new villain that could take down the Borg was actually a nice change- as evil as species 8472 is, it's actually a relief to have regular baddies who just want to kill everyone. It's kind of hard to judge the cgi fairly now, since it was the best they could do with the tech and budget they had at the time, but it doesn't hold up super well. (One thing I think is absolutely hilarious though is watching the DVD special features, and finding out that the pile of dead Borg was actually just action figures that they sawed apart and glued together and filmed from different angles. I thought it looked a little uncanny valley, and that's because yeah, it's literally a pile of miniature dolls. Actual mass produced merch, for children, used as an actual prop, in the actual show! Too wild!)
I appreciated the dilemma of deciding whether they should go through Borg space or not, and the disagreement between Janeway and Chakotay was well played, and pretty devastating, tbh. Chakotay always seems more ready to give up and be willing to settle for a new home, whereas Janeway never is, and considering that her stance on that has never wavered, it hurts when Chakotay disagrees with her. It hurts more when he won't concede she's right, even knowing that in her mind, she doesn't even consider not going home as an option. Chakotay must know that for her, the choice has always been get home or die trying, no third option, and that the crew would all follow her to it if she asked it of them, so it hurts when he won't back her when she takes the best option in a bad situation. On the one hand, I get where he's coming from- it would be safer to give up and go live on some planet, they could probably have had good lives- but they're Starfleet, and they'd choose Starfleet every time, and they'll chose it even when it the odds are against them. Janeway is the most Starfleet any person could ever be- and he had to know that, but when it comes down to the wire, he lets her know she's on her own when she makes that decision. At the end of the day, the hard decisions all fall to her, with no one to ask for help or intervention, and no one else to bear the weight of those decisions with, except maybe for supportive words from her crew, especially Chakotay and Tuvok. The only people she can rely on are her crew, and ultimately, Chakotay does let her down in that moment. Maybe he's too angry to be Starfleet when staring down the possible loss of everything they have on Voyager, but it still hurts that he won't even pay lip service to believing in her, for her sake, since he's going to follow her orders anyway. A heartbreaking scene, but very real. Sometimes no matter how much you love someone, you're going to end up disagreeing, and when it's something as fundamental as right or wrong, life and death, it's going to hurt worse. But still they do their jobs as though it didn't tear their hearts out. Ugh. This show sometimes!!!
Anyway, it ends on a very nailbiting cliffhanger, and I remember being pretty excited to find out what happened back in the day. Of course back then we didn't know about the cast change of doom looming ahead of us, and I'm not especially looking forward to it, but I'm hoping that maybe now, with hindsight and the perspective of a few decades, I might hate it less, or at least find things I didn't appreciate back then when it was all happening the first time. We'll see!
Tl;dr: A surprisingly suspenseful and tense episode that managed to bring a heap of character driven drama without bringing nearly any Borg directly in to it at all.
