a part of you lives on in me
pairing: makoto yuki / minato arisato x gn!reader
summary: during a visit to makoto's grave, you think you're hallucinating when a certain blue haired boy appears next to you…
tags: established relationship, angst with a happy ending, reincarnated!makoto yuki, mentions of s.e.e.s. (+moving on), hurt/comfort, wholesome fluff, reader & makoto's lives are connected
“i miss you more than i thought was possible”
ever since makoto's death, you came to visit his grave every day. while the other members of s.e.e.s. often accompanied you at the start, slowly less and less tagged along with you. they were able to move on, while you weren't yet.
after all, makoto had been your boyfriend. he meant a lot to everyone, but what the two of you had was special. losing him was a pain unlike any other. a pain that never seemed to fade, only growing as time passed.
“if there's any chance for us to meet again… maybe in another life. maybe in death. then please… please, let me see you one last time.”
you were clinging onto a dream that wasn't realistic. wishing that you could see makoto again. even when you knew that it could never happen, you prayed for it every day. until eventually, your prayers were answered.
“you still come here, every day?”
a familiar voice reached out to you. for a moment, you believed it to simply be your own imagination. you didn't even turn around, as you answered:
“i'll continue to come here, every day. it's the only place where you and i can still be together…”
“you never were the type to let go that easily. you never give up, even when things seem impossible.”
there that voice was again. as you finally turned around, a boy with blue hair, covering half of his face, stood next to you, looking down at the grave.
“perhaps it was that will of yours that brought me here. or my own longing to see you again one last time…”
you stared up at the boy, frozen in place. you could barely see his face, with his hair covering up most of it. but you were sure that if you could see it, that it would be…
“makoto…?” you whispered, scared that you may be wrong. “it is you, isn't it…?”
as his head turned, a breeze hushed through the graveyard, blowing the hair out of his face. and as his face was visible to you, you could see those kind eyes of the boy you loved and lost.
“it's been a while.” makoto said with a small smile, as he sat down next to you, in front of his own grave. “i never thought i'd get the chance to see you again…”
“why are you here? are you…?”
you reached out your hand, longing to feel makoto's warmth. to see if he was real or not. yet the idea that he was just a figment of your imagination scared you too much and your hand lingered close to his own, not daring to touch him.
“i couldn't move on.” makoto confessed. “i should've made my peace with what happened. i thought i had. but a part of me still clung to life. it clung to you, wishing i could be with you again. i thought i was ready to die… but i wasn't. not when i was leaving you behind…”
“and… what does that mean for us?”
makoto carefully reached out his hand to hold yours. when they touched, you could feel how warm he was. he was real. he had to be real.
“as long as you're here, i can't move on. i can't die, when you're still keeping me alive. i suppose… i got a second chance to live. a second chance to be with you.”
it sounded too good to be true. all those months, you had wished for makoto to come back to you. yet when he did return, you couldn't believe it.
“and if i'm gone…?”
“if you die, i'll die. we're connected.”
makoto's hand squeezed your own. he could see this was a lot for you right now. your life had changed so much since his death. and now that he returned to you, it would all change again.
“makoto…?”
after a moment of silence, you turned to your boyfriend. tears lingered in the corner of your eyes and you held tight onto his hand.
“welcome back…”
makoto smiled softly, wiping away the tears of relief that began to run down your cheeks. he pressed a gentle kiss onto your lips, before whispering:
“i'm home.”

can i request yukari and minako (seperate) reacting to their s/o finding their evoker laying around?
(Persona 3) Yukari and Minako's S/O finding their Evoker
Minako's part has a 3D render for her because I am heavily biased.
Yukari had gotten so used to having only the members of S.E.E.S enter her room, it didn't even occur to her that having an Evoker wasn't normal.
A fact she was quickly reminded when her S/O came through the door, and that was the first thing they noticed.
(S/O) "Yukari is that a gun?!"
Yukari's heart stopped for a brief moment before regaining her train of thought.
(Yukari) "Oh, jeez! Sorry, that's not actually real! It's for a club I'm part of!"
(S/O) "T-The Archery Club?"
Yukari tried her best not to act nervous, something she hoped S/O wouldn't pick up on.
(Yukari) "No, it's a different one. It's the one that you see me, Minato, and Junpei in."
(S/O) "That would explain why I see you with them all the time, but what even-"
(Yukari) "I-It's a prop basically. It looks pretty real and everything, but it's all just for show. You can't even fire bullets out of it."
It was clear from S/O's expression that they weren't buying it entirely, but upon closer inspection, they could tell that it couldn't be used.
At least, not in the way they were thinking.
(S/O) "Whew, next time warn me before you just have something like that lying around."
S/O eased up a little, chuckling as they decided not to press Yukari any further on the subject.
Something she was thankful for.
(Yukari) "Yeah, that's my bad...H-Hey, don't bring that up to anyone, alright? Last thing I need is for a rumor to go around that I'm carrying weapons."
(S/O) "Like the rumor of you and Minato going out?"
(Yukari) "Are people still going on about that?! They know we're a couple!"
Now her mind was wandering off, anger reigniting as she put her Evoker away and out of sight.
At least S/O didn't find her actual weapons hidden, including all the weird medicine, bombs, and elemental items she had stashed.
Minako was in the middle of preparing her gear for tonight's expedition into Tartarus.
She had put on the SEES uniform for a brief moment, making sure there weren't any holes in it.
The last time they went, she had been hit by a particularly nasty shadow, and she wasn't entirely confident if she had come out unscathed.
There was a knock on the door, and Minako didn't think anything of it.
(Minako) "It's unlocked!"
She replied in a peppy voice. Minako was expecting her teammates, not S/O.
(S/O) "Hey, sorry to pop in like this! I just wanted to-"
S/O stopped when they saw her evoker laying on the nearby desk.
(S/O) "W-What the- Is that a gun?!"
Minako quickly snatched up her Evoker and holstered it, quickly clearing her throat and trying to play it off.
She waves her hand dismissively in response.
(Minako) "That must've scared the heck out of you, sorry, I should have mentioned that sooner!"
S/O looked at her holster, then back at Minako.
(S/O) "Does your club make you wear that red armband?"
(Minako) "Red armba-?"
Minako clears her throat before responding.
(Minako) "It's kinda like a theatre club, but it's pretty exclusive. I was lucky enough to be invited! Mitsuru-senpai is the one who leads it."
(S/O) "A theatre club? But we don't-"
Minako cut them off before they could ask any further questions.
(Minako) "Anyways, I'm a bit busy, so what did you need?"
(S/O) "Well...T-To be honest, that gun kinda made me forget-"
(Minako) "Alright, I'll be out in a second, just close the door! I gotta change, don't make me throw the pillow at you!"
She almost forced S/O out by pushing them towards the door, quickly locking it behind her and sighing deeply to herself.
(Minako) Hopefully they bought that...Actually, who the heck let them in the dorm anyway?!
Much to her dismay, it was technically herself.
Minako had told her friends that S/O was allowed to visit her room, and that explained how they were able to come in basically unannounced.
She quickly regretted that decision. At least S/O wasn't active during the Dark Hour, thank god.

🍲Kotone Shiomi x Shinjiro Aragaki🍲Soup for All, in the Name of One
It felt like it was another one of those days.
Shinjiro stared down at the pot of soup as he absentmindedly stirred it, his lingering thoughts dissolving and marinating along with the soup base and vegetables. Ever since he had been freed from rehab, Shinjiro had been cooking practically every hour of his life for the past few months. This kitchen was more than just his way of giving back to the people; it was his way of atoning for his sins and apologizing for the rampant destruction he left in his wake.
His original plan was to let death claim him one way or another. However, a dear friend of his completely changed his outlook on life as a whole, driving him to press onward.
He wanted to keep living, for she couldn’t.
The tray of chopped up vegetables was practically calling to Shinjiro, as he had yet to add them in. Ideally, he should’ve added them in a few minutes ago, but he lost track of the time while preoccupied with his own troubles. Now, the soup was going to be far from perfect. Those who visited Shinjiro’s kitchen could care less, as even a meal imperfect meal by Shinjiro’s standards was enough to bring life into their frail bodies. However, he would still be left the lingering regret that the food was not as perfect as it could’ve been.
If Kotone were still around, she would turn this into a prime opportunity for teasing Shinjiro. Something about him “being a sweet man despite his high emotional walls,” to name one example. Or how “cute” it was to see just how easily his heart fluttered and attention wandered at her presence.
It would’ve been something like that. But that was many, many years ago. Despite them only knowing each other for a few months, and dating for even less, Kotone left such an impression on Shinjiro that the memory of her still remained very close to his heart.
It was this very treasure of a memory that allowed him to cheat death, not once, but twice. She was kind enough to go out of her way to retrieve a lost pocketwatch of Shinjiro’s, and it was this very trinket that turned a lethal gunshot into a coma that still couldn’t take down Shinjiro. Gunshot wound aside, Shinjiro fought through his decaying mental state and the darkness of Persona suppressants attempting to take hold of his body, reaching out for Kotone, his guiding light at the end of the tunnel.
She did not hesitate to reach back. In fact, her arms were always open and welcoming, no matter how low Shinjiro managed to crash, as she would lift him back up time and again all to see a faint trace of a smile on his face.
Once again, that would have been many years ago. Nevertheless, Shinjiro still found himself distracted by what he once had, and what he desired most to reclaim in his life. Every time that he thought he had finally moved on from Kotone, his feelings for her would return and crash into him like a semi-truck. It didn’t matter if he was lazily stirring soup, flipping pancakes on a griddle, or constructing sandwiches by hand, his ever-present love for Kotone would cause his mind to wander, hindering his performance. He hardly even mentioned his grief to the former S.E.E.S. members. Not like he would have much of a chance to, as contact between the group was rather limited due to everyone focusing on their own individual path in life.
The only one who knew of his heartache was Koromaru, who had taken up residence in the shelter as a sort of therapy dog for those seeking a roof over their head and a warm meal. He had become quite white-muzzled with the passing years, but one would hardly assume that he was at least ten years old with the amount of energy he possessed.
Much to Shinjiro’s surprise, Koromaru remained a gentle soul. Despite having to watch both his first master and Kotone die before him, as well as coming face to face with Death himself, it seemed as if nothing could cause the shine in his eyes to fade away. Shinjiro even argued that Koromaru was aging far better than he was. That little Shiba Inu was as happy as ever, while Shinjiro struggled with the scruff on his chin and the gaping hole in his heart.
The soup was finished, or at least, Shinjiro hoped it was. With how he found his mind wandering as he was preparing it, he hoped that it would be adequate. He stirred the soup around one final time before taste testing it for himself. He immediately tasted every minor flaw, though they were imperfections that only a seasoned chef like himself could discern. With a little grumble under his breath, Shinjiro was relieved that it was at least flavorful, and that his guests would be grateful nonetheless.
He can still hear her voice.
Shinji, it tastes amazing! Don’t talk down on yourself like that!
…She would say, then tackle him with a hug from behind.
Shinjiro shook his head, still trying to break free from these thoughts.
That was years ago. Let her go, dammit.
Before he opened the kitchen. Before he took his first steps into rehab to rid his body of the suppressants. Before he realized that he wanted to live, one day at a time.
…Perhaps, during his recovery process, he neglected to attend to proper healing of his grief-stricken heart. Though they did not know each other for a relatively long period of time, it cannot possibly be that easy to get over someone who had completely turned his life around for the better. What he would’ve done to be able to hear her sweet words of encouragement just one last time. Even when he would deny each and every compliment, Kotone insisted that Shinjiro was worth every moment and more of her time.
It wasn’t simply the praise for his cooking and combat skills that he remembered. It was the immense amount of faith that she kept in him even until the very end. Even when he was at his lowest point, ready to surrender his life as payment for his mistakes, she insisted on guiding him onto a path to a better future.
Did Kotone always know that she was destined to die? Shinjiro couldn’t help but wonder. Kotone always did have a lingering tinge of sadness underneath that bubbly personality, but the desire to die and the inevitability of fate are two completely different things. Perhaps that was a factor as to why she pushed for his survival, because she was sacrificing herself for a better future for all her friends and many more. She didn’t want her life to be a waste.
No. There had to be far more than that. Every bone crushing hug felt genuine, and only Kotone of all people could smile at the sight of his dreary scowl.
That bone crushing hug…Shinjiro would kill for one right about now.
Longingly staring at the pot of soup wasn’t going to do anything. The entire soup, from the base to the vegetables, was crafted in her memory, just as every other meal prepared in this kitchen has been. If he stood here for much longer, he would end up hearing Kotone complain that the food would get cold, and that it was more important to worry about them than her.
His mental vision of Kotone did have a good point. She had moved on, and Shinjiro felt as if it was his job to nurture what she had protected. Plus, Koromaru was likely outside of the kitchen growing impatient. He wanted his share of the food too.
See? Koro-chan thinks your cooking is amazing. Isn’t that what truly matters to you?
W-What about everyone else?
You act like the others don’t wolf down your food. Akihiko was out there begging for seconds.
At least this time, he should spare her a smile. That’s what Kotone would want from him now more than anything. If she was really watching over her friends from above, it would break her heart to see Shinjiro fall apart after years of redemption and mending.
Shinjiro studied his reflection in the still pot of soup. It was true that he had been feeling a bit down as of late, and many would argue that a frown did not suit him one bit. Despite his scruffy and rough appearance, he possessed a caring heart. If Kotone didn’t believe in that, he would not be here running this very kitchen today.
He forced a little smile, then tapped the ladle on the rim of the pot signaling to his guests that food was ready to be served.

Tatsumi Port Memorial Hospital
“What do you mean transferred!?”
Yukari Takeba stands in the hallway of the hospital, quivering. It is graduation day, and the old members of S.E.E.S, after an hour of debate, have agreed to come visit the Arisato twins to tell them and catch them up on the goings-ons of the city.
Only to find out that the twins had been transferred to a different hospital.
“Takeba-san, please calm down! Kirijo-sama approved it!” The doctor pleads, and Yukari turns her wrath and despair upon her girlfriend, the esteemed head of the Kirijo group.
“You approved it!? Why!?” She demands, eyes flashing. Mitsuru remains ever calm, gently placing a hand on Yukari’s shoulder.
“They were running out of room in the LTAC, and their conditions were stable, so I had them transferred to Inaba Muncipal Hospital- they had plenty of open rooms to take care of the twins.”
Fuuka hums thoughtfully, her head tilted slightly like she would when using Juno back in the days of the Dark Hour and Tartarus. Both eradicated thanks to the sacrifice of the twins. “Inaba, huh...? That isn’t too far from here. Maybe we can visit once we’re all settled down and free?”
Aigis nods, staring wistfully at the door to the Arisatos’ old room. She had been looking forward to seeing them for a week, planning to visit them immediately after the ceremony to tell them she had graduated alongside Yukari, Junpei, Fuuka and Shinjiro (and to tell them he had to redo his third year because of everything. They’d probably poke fun at him, but be proud nonetheless that he made the choice- and succeeded in it.)
“Yes,” she says, really not paying attention. “Maybe.”

Inaba Muncipal Hospital
In Inaba, a boy arrives to town after dreaming of a long-nosed man and a bright blue limousine. He shakes the hand of a goddess at a gas station, and is awakened to the powers of the Wildcard.
Across town, two Wilcards open their eyes as the hands of the boy and goddess meet. Their hands find each other in their own handshake, their hearts racing in unison and their chests rising and falling as though they share a pair of lungs.
They remain like that until a nurse comes in and tells a doctor. In three days’ time, they will be discharged and sent with all their belongings to a house bought and paid for by a company called the Kirijo group.
Perhaps the Dark Hour does have some perks.

Junes Food Court
“Man... I’m not the only one who thinks those two from our third year are weird as hell, am I?”
Yosuke lounges back in his chair at the special headquarters, melon soda in his hand.
Chie shakes her head. “No, it isn’t just you for once. I know I can’t really judge, but... Isn’t it kinda strange how they just sorta showed up one day?”
“Uh... You’re talkin’ about the Arisato-senpais, right?” Kanji asks, and Souji nods.
“They were comatose for a while, but woke up the day I got here. I don’t know much about it, but... They seem nice.”
He glances away, not mentioning his social link with them. They really are quite nice, always giving him advice and sometimes even offfering to train with him when they aren’t busy beating the crap out of each other on the outskirts of town near their house.
But they also seem to know more about him than they let on. Makoto sometimes mentions the arcana of one of the members of the team, and Kotone often mentions her old senpais and Shadows.
It’s disconcerting, to say the least, and paired with their own arcana...
He makes a mental note then, as he remembers, to talk to Igor about it. Ask him what in the hell the Universe arcana means, and if he needs to worry about it.
He snaps back to reality as Yukiko begins to talk.
“I’m not one for gossip, but don’t you think it’s a little strange how they always seem to be training with those weapons of theirs? I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it, of course! It’s just...”
“It’s just that it’s all the time, right? I get it. Sure, they’re our senpais, but there’s no harm in just talking about their weird behaviour between ourselves, right?” Yosuke says, chair squeaking beneath him.
“Oh, here they come now!” Chie says, and begins digging into her steak. Souji looks up from his soda to see Kotone-senpai shouting to Makoto-senpai.
“Come on, hurry up! You’re the one who neglected studying!”
Makoto-senpai slouches further, shoving one hand into his pocket. His headphones dangle from his neck, swinging with his every movement. Kotone-senpai’s own mirror his, bouncing wildly with her erratic movements as she practically drags him to a chair.
“Kotone, is this really necessary? I mean, Gekkoukan’s exams are way harder, and we’re both...”
Their voices fade into the background of Souji’s mind. Something isn’t right. TV static fades in and out as he zones out, wracking his brain for the source of this sudden gut feeling.
It started exactly when he became aware of the twins and their existence. Somehow, he feels a terrifyingly strong presence from them, as though the bond he’s formed with them isn’t just affecting his abilities.
But that shouldn’t be possible, a little voice inside tells him. Neither of them have a Persona.
But what if they did, he thinks. What if they did have Personas, what if they knew about what the team is doing?
“—Earth to Souji, do you copy?”
Souji looks up from the table, blinking as Yosuke retracts his hand.
“Hm? Sorry, I... Zoned out there. What’s up?” He says, playing it off. Playing off the sick feeling roiling in his gut, the sudden fight-or-flight that rises in his throat and threatens to choke him. He needs to visit the TV world. He needs to blow off some steam, he needs to get up and do something before he explodes.
“We were asking if you had anything planned for this afternoon. Y’know, in case we wanted to do a bit of, uh, browsing,” Yosuke says. Souji silently thanks his partner, catches his eye and tries to convey his gratitude with his gaze. Yosuke just grins a bit, and it sends butterflies fluttering in his stomach- which quickly get disintegrated by the venom bubbling there.
“Sure, let’s go browsing. Might be fun,” he says, shrugging off the feelings.
As the group head down towards the electronics section, Souji swears he can feel two pairs of eyes watching him leave.
P3 x P4 CONTENT WOOOOOO!!! the arisato twins being tranferred to inaba after the whole nyx situation and souji just. feels so weird towards them. they're the fucking UNIVERSE arcana?!!! Headcanon about how the FeMC (who I will refer to by her canon name Kotone cuz its just easier) specifically can survive sealing Nyx when saving Shinjiro:
So this came to me the other day while crying over that romance path but it's not required to be a romantic thing, just that the pocket watch gets involved and that you manage to save Chidori (and didn't like The Answer)
The way I see it is that Kotone's ability to get the Universe card and ultimately cast the Great Seal comes from her boundless kindness paired with her deep, deep desire for connections
She's no chosen one or anything, she just happened to be there when Aigis needed someone to seal Death in and she just happened to be the kind of person who is just fundamentally and boundlessly good while also having the kind of determination and overwhelming ability to love that, given the power to do so, can literally change fate
That's where the pocket watch comes in. Shinjiro was fated to die, there was no avoiding that...until Kotone got involved. She got to know him as a person and came to wish for his happiness the same way she does for everyone else she encounters. She cared so much that she literally heard him off handedly mention the pocket watch once and immediately went out to look for it. No clues, nothing to go on but she went and found it anyway.
And in my headcanon that determination to bring someone happiness affects things around her, including the pocket watch. But in its case, ensuring that meant to literally avert death. The same way Kotone's ultimate goal is to avert Death.
The pocket watch came into contact with her and its purpose and her final act were the same; to change fated death.
So I headcanon that Theodore enlists Elizabeth to find a way to save Kotone and they come up with the theory that if they can find some way to imitate Kotone's powerful desire to protect the world, ensure life, break fate they could possibly use it as a sort of proxy to keep the Great Seal stable while also freeing Kotone
After some time they realise that Shinjiro shouldn't be alive, his fate is strange and playing out in a way it should not so they investigate and find out about what Kotone did with the pocket watch. But the watch alone isn't enough because its not alive.
Then they learn that Chidori came back from the dead and that that was not in the cards (pun intended) either. She shouldn't be alive...but because Kotone kept nudging Junpei to visit her she is. Kotone got involved and indirectly changed fate again
So Theodore, in his typical awkward way, pops into Kotone's hospital room and stays there until it causes a commotion and every member of S.E.E.S. shows up to confront him and protect their precious leader
He explains that he has maybe found a way to save her and that he needs the shattered pocket watch and every left over flower from Chidori's stay at the hospital
It's a desperate thing and no guarantee it'll work but they all want her back. Shinjiro of course has the watch on him, he never goes anywhere without it to remember who gave him this second chance at life. Because even if he can't explain it, he knows that only Kotone could have found it and only because she was the one who gave it back to him was it able to stop that bullet.
There are also some flowers left, not all of them had found a place on Chidori's coffin, and Mitsuru has no problems getting the folks at Kirijo to hand them over to her
And at the stroke of midnight the entire group is gathered around Kotone's bed, the watch and flowers gently placed in her hands, and on Elizabeth's sign they all focus hard on all the good that Kotone brought into their lives, all the warmth she's given them, their love and appreciation for her, their wish for her fate to change.
At first nothing happens...but then the ground shakes, the sky flashes, for a second they see the same thing as that night on top of Tartarus...but then it's gone again, the Great Seal stabilises, the world remains safe...
And, responding to her friends' voices, Kotone opens her eyes.
The pocket watch and flowers are taken away by Theodore and Elizabeth. They are now safely stored away in the Velvet Room. Igor pretends not to know anything.
Besides, who is he to stop the Universe from changing the unchangeable?

Songs of choice: Any song ft. Lotus Juice + Yumi Kawamura (Mass Destruction, Starless Sky, etc.)
Maybe I'll squeeze em into two bands instead of three once I figure out who can do what for the first two bands ;; maybe...
♪
Basic Plotpoint:
Not too much to add here but I like to imagine this AU consisting of these bands actually competing against each other to win a grand prize of some sort. Strega gets the upper hand most of the way through as they've been around longer than SEES in regards to their music careers. While the rival band does indeed pull dirty tricks to get ahead of the competition, the three main bands decide to join together to create the ultimate band to defeat Strega once and for all. Ikutsuki is the head of the bands while also secretly orchestrating Strega too and gives them the unfair upperhand behind the scenes.
And what's a band story without some drama? Shinjiro has argued with the band members numerous times before quiting to do his own thing. But later on he comes back, and Akihiko was more than happen to have him back in the team.
Strega used to be a four-person band a year before until their lead singer and bass player suddenly passed away. Knowing this they had to adjust with what they have and even altered their way of playing to still make it big. The other three bands didn't know about this (as Junpei then mocks Strega for their attitude) until Mitsuru mentions the story to them. Ikutsuki has been shown to pressure Strega to win the finals or else he'll cut them off for good, which gives the main cast a bit of sympathy when they found out about it, but know they have to stay focused to defeat them. After the grand finale, they offered Strega to join their group and so both cut ties with Ikutsuki altogether. In the end they were brought under Korijo's support.
(any thoughts or ideas are appreciated)

Mini Fanfic #598: Remembering Love Ones (Persona 3 X Persona 4 Arena)
Ken: Hey, Mitsuru-senpai?
Mitsuru: (Turns to Ken Right Next to Her) Yes, Ken-Kun?
Ken: Have you....ever thought about your father as of late?
Mitsuru: ............................
Ken: (Immediately Starts Feeling Bad) S-Sorry! I didn't mean to upset you or anything! I-I was only wondering is all-
Mitsuru: (Gently Place her Hand on top of Ken's While Giving Him a Reassuring Smile) It's okay, Ken-Kun. I'm not upset in the slightest. I was only at a lost of thought is all....(Slowly Begins to Frown a Little) Though....To answer your question....Yes. I have thought about my father recently before. But not as much as you think.
Ken: Hm? What makes you say that?
Mitsuru: Well.....I guess you could say that our relationship as father and daughter.... wasn't always the closest. But nonetheless, I still cherished him from the bottom of my heart. (Looks Down at the Floor Solemnly) I just wish he was still here with us.....
Ken: (Sadly Stares at Mitsuru For a Few Seconds Before Speaking) You know.....
Mitsuru: (Averted her Eyes From the Ground and Turn to Ken) Hm?
Ken: I used to think almost the exact same way about my mom.....And to some extent, Shinjiro-san.
Mitsuru: (Gently Squeezes the top of Ken's Hand While Giving Him a Worried Frown) Ken-Kun, you're still not blaming yourself for what happened that day, are you?
Ken: N-No! Of course not! I promise you that I'm already over it. What I'm trying to say here is that I'm thinking about those two the same way that you're thinking about Mr. Kirijo. You know, mostly about wishing they were still around and stuff. It would be a dream come true if we could see them again.
Mitsuru: I wholeheartedly agree, but....even still, I honestly don't think neither them or my father would want us to keep mourning for them any longer. We need to accept their passings and keep moving forward in our lives. It's more healthier that way after all....No matter how difficult it may be.
Ken: ('Sigh') Yeah......
'Silence'
Ken: But you know what?
Mitsuru: Hm?
Ken: (Turns to Mitsuru with a Hopeful Smile on his Face) Just because they're gone, that doesn't mean we're entirely alone in this world. We have Fuuka-san, Aegis-san, Junpei, Yukari, Akihiko-Senpai, Labrys-Chan, and all our other friends, who were by each of our sides since day one.....(Gently Grab Mitsuru's Hand with Two of his) Not only that, but we got each other as well. And as long as we have all of that and the drive to keep moving forward, then that's all it really matters in the long run. Don't you agree?
Mitsuru: (Slowly But Surely Begins to Smile Softly Towards Ken) Yes..... I... (Tears Finally Begins Fall Down From her Eyes) ('Sniff') agree to that as well, Ken-Kun....('Sniff')
Ken: (Immediately Starts Getting Worried) Senpai! A-Are you okay?
Mitsuru: (Giggles Softly) I'm perfectly fine, my dear.... ('Sniff') I suppose this was an opportunity for me to let out my emotions....('Sniff') It has been a while since I was able to do so after all.....
Ken: (Gives Mitsuru a Loving Hug) Well, I'm here to give you a shoulder to cry on, mom.....I love you.
Mitsuru: (Heart Begins to Melt) Ken-Kun.....('Sniff') (Happily Hugs Ken Back) I love you too...so much....('Sniff') I am so happy and blessed to have met you and everyone else in this dorm.....
Ken: (Smiles Softly While a Few Tears Fell Down from His Face) Yeah.....('Sniff') I feel the same way too.....
The duo finally begins to cry softly to one another until they eventually tire themselves out and fallen asleep on the sofa they were sitting on, for the rest of the night. All while holding each other close.

shinjiro's s/o losing control of their persona
pairing: shinjiro aragaki x gn!reader
tags: hurt/comfort, worried & overprotective!shinjiro, established romantic relationship, mentions of shinjiro's trauma, emotionally distraught!shinjiro, injured!reader, s.e.e.s. member!reader
shinjiro only joined s.e.e.s. again because of you, so he could always keep an eye on you!
he knew you were a persona user and that you didn't have a lot of experience yet, so he was too worried to just let you be a member of s.e.e.s. without him by your side
he always worried that the worst would happen – that you'd lose control over your persona and get yourself killed
and when that moment finally came when you couldn't control your persona anymore, during a trip to tartarus, shinjiro just froze for a moment
the images of that night where he too lost control over his person overcame him and he was paralyzed by the fear for a moment
but what he feared more than his past was a future without you! one where you'd get hurt and he couldn't do anything to save your life!
shinjiro was the first one by your side, pushing his fear aside and running up to you, pulling you into a tight hug
he knew just how you must feel right now, how scared you must be and how awful this whole situation was for you
he knew, because he's been where you are right now. but he wants things to end differently this time!
he couldn't save himself back then, but he has the chance to redeem himself by saving you right now! at least, that's how he saw it…
after the initial shock is over and you're in control again, shinjiro refuses to leave your side! the trip to tartarus ends right there and shinjiro practically drags you out of there!
of course, he'll scold you for being careless and almost getting yourself killed! but you can clearly see he's just angry because he cares so much about you
after the scolding is over, shinjiro finally breaks down. he holds you in his arms, as he quietly starts to cry, telling you how glad he is that nothing happened to you
he couldn't have lived with himself if he lost the one person that means the most to him. especially in such a cruel way…

Thank you for the post for the parents of the Persona protagonists. Now I have an idea where they inherited their personalities from. I will be looking forward to seeing them in Monsters and Magic AU. I also wonder what Aunt Tsubaki is like at Literal Theater Kid Ren AU. Thanks again.
You're welcome. I tried to think of how to work in what we know about character's parents and how they would be influenced by their parents growing up. For example...
When it comes to work, Minato will often throw himself into something completely and depending on how important it is, he will forget to take care of himself unless someone else steps in. This is something that Daichi would often do. The first person to pull him away from this and help him so he didn't burn out was Yuriko.
The way he was treated shaped the way that Ryoji treats others. He doesn't want people to feel the same pain that he felt from his parents. He doesn't tolerate his parents' behavior and ideals, and this will definitely come into play when we get to the events of The Answer.
Kotone's habit of putting others before herself, looking out for the other members of the team, etc, comes from both of her parents. There are some aspects that shine more than others, though. I've mentioned that Shiro was a delinquent in his youth, and Ayame would often take care of his injuries. Kotone tends to be the first to ask if everyone is alright after a fight, and with her magic, she takes care of injuries without asking. Her protective nature is a reflection of her father, who wants both kids to grow up in a better world than he did. So, when he finds out about S.E.E.S., he's not too pleased.
Yu's desire to find the truth comes from his mother. Shin's disposition and level-headedness reflect in his son... though, that's mostly because Tomiko tends to act a bit impulsively. Yu does something similar when he's angry or upset.
With Tsubaki, Ren's rebellion against societal standards definitely comes from her. After all she's been through, she's lost all fucks when it comes to what people think and say about her. Having been raised primarily by his mother, Ren has picked up on this. Ren has very little traits from his father.
I'm still trying to figure out where to have Ayame and Shiro make appearances in the main stories outside of mentions, which sucks because I love their dynamic. Yuriko gets brought up a lot in the latter half of Make Every Moment Last, and when we get to Arena/Ultimax, I plan to dive into Daichi a little more since he was involved in the development of the Anti-Shadow Weapons prior to the incident involving Labrys.
Shin, Tomiko, Tsubaki and Naoya will definitely show up in their respective stories. Tomiko doesn't make a physical appearance in P4, but I do have plans for Shin to temporarily stay with Yu while Dojima and Nanako are hospitalized. They will make a brief appearance in the beginning of Arena/Ultimax, and I do want them to show up if I go into Dancing All Night. Ren's relationship with his parents is brought up a lot after his arrest, especially with all the shit that happened with him and Naoya. He talks to his mother frequently, and with Strikers, I do plan for him and his father to reconcile over the course of the story, especially when the shit that goes down in the Kyoto Jail.
Speaking of Tsubaki, she's the same character, only going through different events between Monsters and Magic and Literal Theatre Kid. Like parallel universes. Tsubaki in the Theatre Kid AU is something that I've thought about when thinking about the previous Mankai Company and trying to make sense of why Sakyo owed her a favor in the first place.
#i want to talk about these characters#even though a good couple of them don't show up often#i've thought more about them than i probably should have#...i still need to draw shin tomiko and tsu#as well as come up with a design for naoya during the p5/s era#queen's ocs#daichi arisato#yuriko arisato#miyako mochizuki#kuro mochizuki#ayame shiomi#shiro shiomi#shin narukami#tomiko narukami#tsubaki amamiya#naoya toudou#queen answers#anonymous

imagine ryoji and minato farming shadows while s.e.e.s. watches them bcs death craves shadows 💀
hi there anon! thank you so much for stopping by the inbox- i love the idea of ryoji and minato exploring tartarus together to farm shadows!
honestly it's really neat to think about their fighting styles and whatnot? there's something about this concept that really intrigues me- since i feel that farming shadows would bring out a different side of ryoji and minato? something that you wouldn't see in their day-to-day life... like a moment for them to be unhinged together 😂
i think it's great that you mention that s.e.e.s. just ends up watching them, haha. i feel like their passive watching just really goes to show that ryoji and minato are on their own wavelength, separate from everyone else. it'd be interesting to see what kinda remarks that the members make while ryoji and minato Do Their Thing™
anyways! thank you again for stopping by the inbox. i always appreciate hearing what people have to say and responding to them- so i hope that you're having a fab day! i can't stress enough how fascinating this concept is, and how it has a lot of fun potential 💛💙
#lizzy askbox#fun fact: when i got this in the notifs it cut off at 'farming' and i was lke. oh my god. ryomina stardew valley au?#BUT THEN IT WASNT SHGNK SLDFHFD and im like. you know what? ryomina shadow farming is also valid. i love that too!#me being out here is like (gestures) 'yes give me all of the concepts i love to see everything'#but WAAAH with this concept specifically i dont feel like ive really seen fics on this kinda spectrum tbh BUT!!#i think its genuinely interesting. i mean ok everything interests me but like. the energy this has (shakes in place!!)#i definitely feel like i could probably articulate better abt this concept but IVE BEEN LETTING IT MARINATE#i say that about every idea that gets brought to my attention. they just. slowly develop. like a plant.#ANYWAY THANK YOU ANON. i havent seen anything like this before so it rlly piqued my interest ty!! i hope ur doing swell! <3#i generally stay away from thinking about ryoji and minato in the dark hour because its usually associated with angst#BUT!! this hits different lmao. idk why it just Does and im just scrambling to find a way to articulate that lol#hc and au nonsense

GoMs + Kagami as Persona Users
Headcanons on the Generation of Miracles (and Kagami) if they were to become a persona user in the world of the Persona series (Kuroko and Momoi included)
@akichan-th THIS IS FOR YOU
Warning: KNB series spoilers !!
Kuroko Tetsuya
since his presence is nonexistent in the real world, as a phantom thief, he’d probably desire to be a noticeable hero, you know? even in the 22.5 OVA, he told Kise that passing around wasn’t fun but he was going to do it for the sake of the team
his phantom thief outfit would be flashy in a sense of maybe eye-catching color schemes, or bold patterns
his attire could be baggy/oversized navy blue/black street clothing with TASTEFUL neon-colored accents and his mask would be a neon-colored huge sports shades/goggles situation (i was about to say some trendy sunglasses but sunglasses don’t stay on at all); he’s a skater boy ???? basically??
like, his PT attire could very well be a Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight DLC outfit 👀 it has those vibes
persona element is curse and let me explain why: he doesn’t have the gifted physique like the other GoMs and he’s cursed to rely on others for him to make a difference, and his motif has always been “shadow” ALSO he’s the PHANTOM sixth player YOU CAN’T CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE
he’s a front-line battler, but his skills are very support heavy: support skills that increase attack and defense for his teammates; i also wanna say he has spells that inflict dizziness ailments because in the anime, players are always losing their shit and whipping their heads around to find this tiny boy LMAO
he would definitely have a signature move that would direct all enemy attacks and status moves to himself for a set amount of turns to aid his teammates
his persona would have an extremely high Endurance and higher than average Luck stat but everything else is an all-time low
i’m going to say it, his shooting weapon is gonna be a paintball gun filled with neon paint just to fuck with the shadows and still make it HURT
code name would be “Umbra” (which means innermost part of a shadow) or “Ghost;” imagine some PT member shouting, “Oh no! Umbra’s knocked down!” and all the shadow sees is this brightass, neon kid on the floor
i would love his codename to be “Shadow” but there’s already the term shadow to describe the monsters in the metaverse
Kise Ryota
he views a “rebel” as your basic punk
since he’s a model, he knows japanese punk fashion very well
guess who’s gonna come into the metaverse being this hot ass punk boy? Kise motherfucking Ryota
black spike collar
lots of those tiny chains and harness/buckle action somewhere
ripped black leather pants that give Joker’s own leather pants a run for its money PLUS WITH SHINY BLACK BELT
lots of patchwork and stuff
THIS IS WHAT MORE OR LESS I’M TALKING ABOUT IF YOU WANT VISUAL REFERENCES
his mask would totally be a visor goggle to add further to the punk theme
part of me is biased that Kise is a blondie and “kise” is based off of “yellow” and Ryuji is blonde and so now i headcanon him as the electric element
okay, but since he’s an “all-rounder” he’ll probably be able to access mid-tier level attacks of all elements, including almighty to an extent
but if i was basing his element off of personality, he’d be ice for sure; he’s actually cold-hearted to people whom he doesn’t consider “worthy” and the anime only showed his friendly side because most of the time, he’s shown talking to his friends and people he respects
speaking of all-rounder, his stats would be all high all around, with his Magic stat peaking the highest
Midorima Shintarou
this boy is a bit tricky to figure out what his PT attire would be
he doesn’t have any time to think about “what he would be as a rebel” type of thing
however, if he were to desire to become something, i’d say he would want to be a supernatural being who can distribute good luck for himself every day
think of those JRPG wizard/mage/warlock outfit motifs (and they match up nicely with the idea of astrology and horoscopes); probably lots of brown/beige/hues of green scheme? or a black/various colors of purple for a FULL on witch vibe
it makes sense too because as someone who always shoots from afar and never dunks, mage classes always cast from afar and never attack up close to their opponent
and his frog puppets remind me of a witch’s animal familiars LMAO
there you have it
his mask would be a dark dark purple or a pure black domino mask that has little stars littered sparingly everywhere on said mask
his shooting weapon? my guy is stacked on staves ready to cast long-range spells
wind element for sure (because his basketball shots all catch air with lots of hang time | (• ◡•)|) with tons of gun skills
signature move would be a magic skill that never misses no matter what (his range is the entire metaverse)
his persona stats are also pretty well rounded but his highest stats would be Magic and Luck, with Endurance being a close runner up
Aomine Daiki
also hard to figure out a PT attire for this guy
according to KUROFES, his alternative career would be a police officer so i would think he despises criminals and the Phantom Thieves altogether ?
if anything, he’s more suited for the S.E.E.S. investigation team in Persona 3
Aomine doesn’t give a fuck, but he has a soft spot to protect others so like having a gun evoker definitely suits him more than a mask summon BRJWBDJW
i see him as a fire element, but his persona would have a lot more physical skills than anything else
bonus: since he used to be Kuroko’s “light,” he can have some mid-tier level bless skills
to make a reference his “formless” shots and forms, as well as his rapid changes of pace, his signature move would be a 5-hit physical skill that changes targets with every hit
statwise, his Agility stat is the highest out of everyone in the GoM, and his Strength and Endurance would be runner up stats; his Magic stat would be extremely dismal
Murasakibara Atsushi
this guy thinks about nothing but food and how he hates Teppei-species people basketball, so honestly he’s not interested in the Phantom Thieves business
like what? Murasakibara dressed in a getup? it’s a big “press X to doubt”
so i envision him to be more suitable for Persona 4, where he has to confront the other self that loves basketball and truly does care about people, and he had to be honest and accept that side for him to attain a persona
would he ever go back to the said “persona world” to go fight some shadows? unless there’s a good reason why he should or you bribed him with snacks, he won’t budge an inch
just give this man a Persona 4 school uniform and he’s ready to fight
his persona would primarily have physical skills, with lots of “wall” support skills, element “break” skills, and lots of passive skills (lots of nulls/resists) available for it to learn
highest stat for him would be Strength, then Endurance, and surprisingly have Agility as the runner up
he’s a huge tank of a persona user
Akashi Seijuro
i’ve talked about his PT outfit in this headcanon here, including his mask and why
hear me out, since this man is good at everything in school, and since there are archery clubs in Japanese schools, i wouldn’t be surprised if he was a Robin Hood with the scopes; what am i tryna say? his shooting weapon would be bow & arrows
i feel like people would automatically think he’s a bless/curse element like Akechi since “he has two sides,” but i feel like it’s not exactly right? if anything, i headcanon him to be more of a psychokinesis element
why? i want to attribute that to his emperor’s eye and his perfect passings, both each specialties from their respective “sides” of Akashi, and that requires extreme precision, almost to the level of “telepathy”
there’s also everyone thinking he can see the future too i mean
in the end, Akashi’s dual sides merged into one again, so having a whole bless/curse element wouldn’t even make sense anymore
but i will say, this man deserves to have a persona with almighty skills back to back
this guy isn’t the captain for no reason
so his persona would utilize psychokinesis and almighty skills, with special buff skills that increase critical rates for his allies (to refer to the fact that his passings enhance other players); his persona would also enjoy a large selection of passive skills to choose from to either be ultimate support or ultimate offensive sweeper
to also reiterate from the mentioned headcanon i linked, his code name would either be “Crimson” or “Scarlet”
his persona is a literal glass cannon, referring to the fact that Akashi is actually a mentally fragile basketball player; extremely high Strength, Magic, and Agility (but not as high as Aomine though) stats, average Luck stat, but extremely low Endurance stat
Momoi Satsuki
Momoi, i think, would envision herself in the metaverse as someone who’s never underestimated because of her usual demeanor or physical looks
even me, i got fooled thinking she was just only a fanservice girl and not this incredibly intelligent girl who was critical to her teams’ successes
so i would think she would imagine herself to be in a huge respectable position of power, like a lieutenant or general, who can command others and strategize to victory
her outfit would be similar to the attire from the Assassin’s Faith set from Love Nikki with the black Army Floppy Hat from the Army Major set on top (also from Love Nikki)
color scheming i can imagine a lot of black/white with gold trimmings/accents here and there
her mask is a Venetian eye mask i can literally see it; it’s so pretty with the gold plating !!
her role would definitely be a navigator + analyzer/tactician from the backlines, so while she isn’t in the battle most of the times, if worse comes to shove, she’ll be in the frontlines as a last resort
in other words, she’s a Futaba, but she isn’t a sitting duck and can fight if needed
she has an incredible Luck stat, higher than average Agility stat, but average stats for the rest (Magic, Strength, and Endurance)
ailment, healing, support, and buff skills are all at her disposal, along with some gun skills (which can definitely be broken when paired with her high Luck stat)
“Duchess” (a woman having a noble rank) would be a really cute codename for her
Kagami Taiga
why do i literally see him as a shinobi (ninja)
i have no idea why i do, but i think it’s just his name:
“While Kagami's name is associated with the ‘tiger’, Himuro's name means ‘dragon’. In Chinese mythology, the Azure Dragon of the East and the White Tiger of the West are eternal rivals. This rivalry is further expressed in their surnames: ‘Hi (氷)’ means ‘ice’ while ‘Ka (火)’ translates as ‘fire’.” - KNB wiki
so i literally see both Himuro and Kagami as rival clans duking it out
jokes aside, Kagami is a very honorable player, but he did at one point exhibited a “darker side” to himself, playing selfishly and being arrogant in the beginning
shinobis were considered to be “dishonorable” and “beneath the honor” of the samurai in their eras, so i feel that this could be a great image for what Kagami thinks is a “rebel”
being a ninja would make use of his jumping skills too
i imagine him in a fitted black halter neck top (so his abs are for us to see), with an iconic long red scarf wrapping his neck and hanging down to his waist at the back side
black forearm guards/wraps?
and then he has mahogany/dark red??/black???? loose cloth wrapped around his waist, like how you would tie a jacket over your waist ?? and then black nu-bakama pants and finally some dark boots for those pants to be tucked in
no one can convince me otherwise, but he’s gotta have a red full-face oni mask with black horns and some golden tiger stripes on the sides of the mask and around the eyes
HIS PERSONA ELEMENT IS BLESS BECAUSE HE IS KUROKO’S “LIGHT”
he would totally have some almighty skills and “Heat Riser,” a move that raises all of the user’s attack, defense, and accuracy/evasiveness (because the colors of the move’s animation remind me of Direct Drive Zone, something that was pretty much unlocked by Kagami for the team)
his persona is one of the OP/late game personas where all their stats are amazing across the board; even if his stats were high all around, his “lowest” would be his Luck stat
codename for him is “Tiger” no one cannot argue with me for this one NRNEIJFEO

House Isekai: Shadowbringers -Interlude 1
House Isekai Shadowbringers AU Masterlist Here
—
Interlude: Konosuba Gang
Directly after the events of Act 1: Finale...
As House Isekai moves to Derdriu after escaping Church Forces at Garreg Mach, they decide to camp for the night and rest before continuing their journey.
Finally having a moment of calm, Sitri decides to speak with one of the very first members of House Isekai...
—
[No Greater Sorrow - Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers OST]
Sara stopped the group and turned around to do a quick head count.
All the students were accounted for. Blue Lions and Black Eagles not too far behind.
...Then there was Lahabrea and Sothis, keeping an extremely far distance from everyone. She was hoping they’d keep it that way.
(Sara) “Campin’ here tonight boys and girls. Wouldn’t do us good to get ambushed when we’re exhausted.”
Everyone nodded and moved into the woods nearby and cleaned up a spot.
(Ainz) “We will create protection spells in case anyone is watching.”
(Futaba) “Leave scanning the area to me and Fuuka!”
(Mitsuru) “Understood. Us Persona users will secure the area then.”
(Akira) “Roger. Let’s get going.”
(Dimitri) “Suppose we can make the area comfortable to sleep in then.”
(Edelgard) “Seems fine to me.”
(Megumi) “ We will help as well.”
(Kazuma) “Guess we’ll get a fire goin’.”
Everyone had their assigned roles and got quickly to work.
The Phantom Thieves hopped into the trees and disappeared into the night as S.E.E.S, Class VII followed on foot.
The Denizens of Nazarick began casting spells and aiming it above the campsite.
Lahabrea and Sothis set their own mini camp away from everyone.
Sitri noticed Lahabrea staring at her, then quickly looking away.
(Sharon) “Miss Sitri?”
Sitri turned around and saw Sharon with her smile as Doomguy laid Byleth gently on the floor and began patrolling the area.
(Sharon) “Would you like to get some rest?”
(Sitri) “As much as I would, I don’t like everyone doing work as I do nothing. I will go help Kazuma and the others with the fire.”
She took one last look at Byleth before Sharon bowed at her.
(Sharon) “Rest assured, Byleth will be in good hands.”
(Sitri) “Thank you, Sharon.”
Sharon went back to Byleth and took out some strange device and looked over him. Knowing she was not being any help by standing, she went after Kazuma.
...
(Megumin) “Hm...You know I just realized I can’t really see at all.”
(Aqua) “I can see just fine.”
(Kazuma) “Then hurry up and find some good firewood, would ya? Place is creepin’ me out.”
(Darkness) “If there are beasts here, I will intercept it!”
(Kazuma) “Listen we are NOT getting killed because you want to fuel your sick feti-”
Snap!
(Megumin) “W-WHO’S THERE?!”
Aqua turned around reaching for her staff before easing up.
(Aqua) “Oh, hi Sitri.”
(Sitri) “H-Hello...”
Sitri brought up a torch and looked at the four.
(Sitri) “Would you like some help?”
(Kazuma) “Sure. Though, shouldn’t you be resting?”
(Sitri) “I could ask the same for everyone. You all have been working and fighting tirelessly.”
(Darkness) “Hah, this is nothing, Mrs. Eisner! Byleth took us through worse!”
(Kazuma) “Pah, bullshit! He never trained us for all out war!”
(Megumin) “Kazuma! S-Sorry Mrs. Sitri, he can’t really control his language.”
Sitri couldn’t help but laugh.
(Sitri) “It’s quite fine. Jeralt wasn’t exactly the type of person to filter himself either.”
As she walked over to the group she began thinking to herself.
(Megumin) “If...I can say something, Sitri. We all knew Jeralt during our year at the Academy. He was a good man, and a good father. He talked about you almost every other day.”
(Darkness) “Indeed. I wish he was here to see you now.”
(Kazuma) “You uh...have our condolences.”
(Sitri) “...Thank you. It brings me some level of peace to know how he was...”
She looked up at the night sky longingly.
(Sitri) “Just like all those years ago...”
(Aqua) “By the way, why did you follow us out here of all people? Any reason?”
(Sitri) “No, not particularly. I’ve just had a few questions I’ve been wanting to ask.”
(Kazuma) “Hm? ‘Bout what?”
(Sitri) “Well, I think that floating girl to start. Everyone called her Sothis, but if I recall correctly Sothis was an all divine goddess.”
(Aqua) “Psh, divine my butt! She’s a little gremlin!”
Aqua had a smirk on her face, which confused Sitri.
(Sitri) “Gremlin?”
(Kazuma) “Eh, don’t mind the useless goddess here. She started a lotta bullshit between then two.”
(Aqua) “DID NOT!”
(Megumin) “A-Anyways, we don’t know the true story ourselves. But...from what I heard from other members of House Isekai, she was a true friend.”
(Kazuma) “Not was, IS, a good friend.”
(Sitri) “I’m not sure I understand then. You all seemed so hostile to her.”
(Aqua) “It...may not make any sense but she isn’t OUR Sothis. The Sothis we knew infused herself into Byleth during the encounter with Jeralt’s killers.”
(Kazuma) “Though that’s a story you need to hear from your son and not us. Anyways, only a select few of us could see her during the Academy. We didn’t know the true nature of her, but all we know is that she was with Byleth when it all began. Preeetty sure we were the first ones to meet her actually.”
(Sitri) “You were the first to arrive in Fodlan? Oh, by the way I think I may have found some wood.”
(Aqua) “Yeah, first us, Class VII, then Megumi, then everyone started pouring in.”
(Darkness) “Hm...No, too damp. It wouldn’t light properly. And yes, we were. The four of us were in Kazuma’s mansion when we suddenly found ourselves flung into a battle at Remire Village. It was there we rescued Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude alongside Byleth and Jeralt.”
(Sitri) “So he became a mercenary like his father...”
(Megumin) “Very good one at that! When we first met him, he didn’t seem to have too much emotion. Though overtime he became a great teacher!”
Sitri smiled as she continued looking.
(Sitri) “...Thank you for taking care of him.”
(Darkness) “If anything, I feel like that we should thank you, Sitri. We don’t know the full story, but you sacrificed yourself so that your child could live.”
(Sitri) “It’s something any mother would do for her child. Though I can safely say I had no intention of...being resurrected, I am happy to see my son alive and well.”
Her smile quickly faded when she started to think again.
(Sitri) “But...Why did Lahabrea resurrect me? He appears to be my son but-”
(Kazuma) “Frankly, I think we should be careful of that asshole. I don’t know what’s going on with him exactly, but I KNOW he doesn’t have our best interest at heart.”
(Aqua) “Right? Plus she resurrected her using some dark magic! That can NOT end up being good!”
(Sitri) “...”
Minato walked past them, not even facing their direction.
(Minato) “Could try and NOT talk like Sitri isn’t even there.”
(Kazuma) “Oh piss off, Arisato. Like you’re one to give me a lecture about manners.”
(Minato) “Hmph.”
(Sitri) “Um...Pardon my rude manners but are you all always this...um...-”
(Kazuma) “Dysfunctional?”
(Aqua) “Aggressive?”
(Darkness) “Violent?”
(Megumin) “Insane?”
(Sitri) “...Well I was going to use nicer words, but considering our first meeting was launching my body into the air and strangling each other-”
(Megumin) “Yeah, most of the time.”
(Kazuma) “House Isekai says you get used to it after a while.”
(Sitri) “I...suppose that’s true. I guess it’s not entirely set in since I’ve only awoken just a few days ago.”
(Aqua) “Alright, these ought to be good. Everyone got something?”
Everyone held up some wood and started to walk back to camp.
(Kazuma) “Oh hey, you finally weren’t useless.”
(Aqua) “Shut up, NEET.”
Sitri looked puzzlingly at them. She could tell they cared about each other, but why were they so...mean?
As they continued to walk, they saw Lahabrea sleeping underneath a tree nearby the camp with Sothis nowhere to be found.
(Aqua) “I got a real bad feeling about him...”
(Kazuma) “I’ve noticed him staring at us, including Sothis while we were walkin down the road.”
(Sitri) “Perhaps there’s a reason he looks like my son?”
(Megumin) “It better be a good one. We haven’t had the best experience with impersonators if you haven’t noticed.”
(Darkness) “Not to mention your resurrection appears to play a key role in all of this as well...”
Sitri looked at her hands and furrowed her brow.
(Sitri) “...Am I?”
(Kazuma) “Well, once we get to Derdriu and meet up with Claude I suppose we’ll get our answer. No use bustin our brains trying to figure shit out so early.”
(Aqua) “Oh hey, you finally said something intelligent-”
(Kazuma) “Fuck off.”
Sitri giggled.
(Sitri) “I guess you were right, you do get used to this.”
(Darkness) “That was....alarmingly fast.”
(Megumin) “Oof, whatever I’m exhausted. Let’s hit the hay yeah?”
(Sitri) “Oh um...”
The four turned around and faced Sitri, eyebrow raised.
(Sitri) “Thank you for taking care of my son.”
[This Beautiful Cruel World - Attack On Titan OST]
They all smiled and raised their arms in unison.
Without another word, the four went to their spot to sleep.
Sitri smiled and was about to sleep when suddenly a pain flashed in her head.
“…I can’t believe I’m missing her.”
“...do me one favor in case I go down for good this time? Protect everyone else. You’re the only one I can rely on for that.”
“Do not hesitate to call upon me or the others should the need arise. We will take care of you in these times…”
“Edelgard, what did you do…?!”
Sitri shook her head once the pain was gone.
(Sitri) “What was that...?”
She looked at the four who were setting up their beds, yelling at each other with profanity.
There was no way they had said all those things at her once.
...So why did their voices sound clear as day, and what was going on?
Her eyes glazed over to Byleth, who was finally put to rest with Megumi, Sara, and some of the other staff and House Reps looking over him.
She then turned to Lahabrea and frowned again.
(Sitri) “What have you started, my son...?”
INTERLUDE: END
Your dream is where your heart is
It’s something more fragile than life itself
No matter how many times you throw it away, you still find it
So rest in peace now
Your wish is violated by your pulsing urge
and as much as you forget about it, you recall it again
In this beautiful and cruel world
We only ask “why” we’re still alive…
Ah, what are we going to protect
with our strength and weakness? If reason no longer exists

Deep blue eyes stared at the labrynth’s entrance, lost on contemplation while the rest of the Investigation Team and this . . . S.E.E.S mingled among themselves around the school festival. Knowing this wasn’t the T.V. world elicited so many questions; and that was not to mention the other group they had joined with. Were both groups even from the same world to begin with? Even with the similarities already discussed, she couldn’t be sure. Although none of that seemed to matter at the current point in time. For now both teams needed to work together if there was any hope of escaping this place. The fact the two teams seemed to commingle so well off the bat was simply a bonus, though that could be due to the fact many of the members seemed to share some traits. The sight of one of the Gekkoukan students in the hall broke Naoto from her stupor. Despite the intimidating appearance the other gave off and the towering size comparison, Naoto approached him with a casual demeanor. After all, if her hypothesis was correct, he would be something congruous to Kanji.
❝Shinjiro Aragaki, I presume?❞ The Detective Prince greeted, unintentionally deepening her voice out of habit. ❝I’ve noticed you’re often alone. Perhaps you’d care to accompany me for a while? I’ve had a few thoughts concerning the labyrinths and was hoping to get a second opinion.❞

If someone wanted to get into persona, what is the best game to start with?
to be honest, Persona is kind of nice in that it doesn’t matter a whole lot where you start, since each game is a relatively self-contained story which only has brief mentions or cameos of previous entries! some elements of the lore make more sense if you play certain games before others, but it isn’t anything drastic enough to impact your enjoyment. Hell, I started with Persona 5 and was just fine. So I guess I can just sorta talk about the pros and cons of each game as an entry point to the series! I can also briefly describe their premises in case a particular one seems more interesting, which could help someone with deciding where to start.
this is gonna be long, so I’ll put it under a read more.
Persona 1/Revelations: Persona is the only game I wouldn’t recommend playing first. Its mechanics are pretty outdated and not reflective of the rest of the series, and it’s relatively short compared to the others as well. Not to say that it’s not worth ever playing! In fact, from my understanding it has wonderful characterization, an engaging plot, and lays important groundwork for the franchise’s worldbuilding. I just wouldn’t recommend it for getting a taste of what the series is like.
Persona 2: Innocent Sin is the first of the dual entries for the Persona 2 duology. It has some of the same cons I mentioned for the first game; it’s relatively old, so its mechanics are a little outdated, and it plays more similarly to an SMT game than the future Persona entries do (for example, the story is fairly linear and occurs over the course of a few days, whereas later entries are strung out over a year). It is a little more refined, though, and the formula is starting to get there. It also has, in my opinion, some of the best character writing in the series.
P2IS is a story about how strange occurrences are brewing in the city of Sumaru because of a phenomenon where rumors actually influence and/or become reality. A group of high schoolers get tangled up with a mysterious man named Joker, who can supposedly grant wishes and, for some reason, seems to hold a very personal grudge against them. They discover their ability to call upon Personas to defend themselves from the demons at his command, and soon end up teaming up with journalist Maya Amano to get to the bottom of Joker’s identity and the source of the rumors which are warping the city. Over the course of their journey, they slowly start to piece together their past in order to figure out why Joker seems so invested in them.
Pros: - Stellar character writing- An intriguing, interconnected plot which is a bit of a rollercoaster but a lot of fun- Lays the groundwork for lore in the Persona series (most importantly the existence of Philemon and Nyarlathotep, as well as the origin of the Velvet Room)- Incredibly mature takes on the impact of trauma and familial abuse (TW for both of those things though)- Canonically bisexual protagonist with a potential same sex dating optionCons:- Unavoidable random encounters and really grind-heavy, as most 90′s jrpgs go- Outdated mechanics that aren’t really reflective of future Persona entries- One of those wiki-heavy games: it’s damn near impossible to unlock certain character interactions or personas without use of a guide- The second game in the Duology, Eternal Punishment, isn’t nearly as accessible to English audiences
Persona 3 is where a lot of the series formula originates from! It’s also my personal favorite, but I’ll try my best to be unbiased describing it. Small note: I recommend playing Persona 3 FES specifically, since it refines a lot of the things that were clunky in the vanilla version, adds more character content, and features a post-game which answers a lot of questions.
P3 takes place in a coastal city called Iwatodai at the beginning of the school year, where the protagonist moves in as a transfer student after being bounced around in foster care for ten years following an accident which killed his parents. Upon arrival, he experiences the strange phenomenon of the Dark Hour: an extra 25th hour in the day where people are transformed into coffins and monsters roam free. Technology doesn’t work during this hour, and anyone not protected by a coffin is violently attacked and seems soulless the next day, a condition local news dubs Apathy Syndrome. A select few people have the potential to stay conscious during the Dark Hour and protect themselves by use of a Persona, and these people make up a unit called the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S.). The protagonist joins, and the game follows their investigation of the phenomenon. It’s considered the darkest entry in the series, and for good reason: “memento mori” is right in its introduction. The game focuses heavily on themes of death, what it means to be mortal, how people deal with being confronted with their mortality, what the point of life is, and much more.
Pros:- Introduction of the Persona formula: school life and dungeon exploration which requires time management on a linear calendar, the knockdown/1-more feature in combat, all-out-attacks, social links. Starting with this game may actually be the best way to go gameplay-wise, since coming back to this game after playing later entries makes it seem clunky.- Dungeon-crawl style of gameplay, which is a lot nicer than random encounters. You explore randomly generated floors and choose when and where to ambush enemies.- Excellent character arcs which enrich the game’s narrative- A dark, mature, and interesting story which explores human natureCons:- Still an older game, so some controls are clunky. One game mechanic in particular that many are frustrated with is the inability to directly choose what moves your teammates will use, instead requiring you to use Tactics to direct how the AI should behave.- Probably has the worst pacing issues out of any game in the series. There’s an entire calendar month where you do basically nothing.- The post-game is grind-heavy and long for the amount of story it offers. Some people just recommend watching a playthrough.- Features an uncomfortable transphobic skit towards the middle of the game.
Persona 4 is a refinement of many of the features of Persona 3. The best version to play is Persona 4 Golden, since it has a lot of extra content, but it’s vita exclusive and I’m stuck with vanilla :( Vanilla’s still fine in my experience, at least!
P4 takes place in the small town of Inaba, where the protagonist has transferred for a year to live with his uncle and cousin due to his parents leaving the country for work. Shortly after his arrival, a bizarre series of serial murderers start to occur where the bodies are found strung up on telephone lines. There’s also a rumor that looking into a turned off television screen on a rainy midnight will reveal your soulmate; this rumor is referred to as the Midnight Channel. The protagonists and friends inadvertently discover a parallel world which exists alongside Inaba, which can be entered through televisions but which can’t be exited without the help of a mysterious denizen named Teddie. They discover that these worlds are linked; people who show up on the Midnight Channel turn up dead in the real world shortly after, and the weather is inverse to Inaba’s. They discover that this is because someone is throwing people into this world, who are then unable to escape, and that the Shadows living in it become violent when the fog lifts (inverse to when the fog settles in the real world). This world also has an interesting quirk: people who enter it end up confronting their own shadow, which is a manifestation of the parts of themselves they repress or deny. Denying your shadow leads to it attempting to kill you, and this is likely what caused the deaths of the first victims. The protagonist and team discover that confronting and accepting your own Shadow, however, turns it into a Persona which you can then use to combat the monsters in the world. Equipped with their unique knowledge, the team sets out to save victims, solve the murder mystery, and learn how to accept themselves.
Pros:- A powerful message about the importance of seeking the truth and accepting all facets of yourself- An absolutely incredible murder mystery with clever plot twists and high stakes: getting the true ending is actually difficult if you don’t know who the murderer is, and you’re expected to understand the themes of the game and the characters in order to get it.- A nice in-between for the mechanics of P3 and P5: it’s pretty easy to transfer to either one after playing this one. (also introduces the ability to control party members directly, thank god)- A TON of spinoff content if you find you enjoy the characters and setting- Probably one of the best games in terms of understanding the overarching lore of the series, since it explains how Personas and Shadows work in much more depth than other entriesCons:- Has sort of a wonky difficulty curve. The first couple dungeons are honestly kind of a pain in the ass because of how level scaling works, and it takes a little while to level out.- The character arcs aren’t quite as well-written as previous games, due to the ultimate personas being associated with social link completion rather than events in the plot.- Oh god, such clumsy handling of LGBT topics. Plays around the idea of a gay narrative for one character (Kanji) and a trans narrative for another (Naoto) but ultimately just ends up playing up stereotypes and then backing out before doing anything “risky.” Another character in the party is pretty homophobic to Kanji for a while too, which sucks.
Persona 5 is the most popular in the series for sure, and for good reason. It’s the complete culmination of the Persona formula, and it adds all sorts of stuff to the gameplay and lore. It has a pretty lovable cast, to boot. Not that it doesn’t also have its problems, imo.
P5 features a protagonist who was falsely convicted of assault after attempting to defend a woman from a drunk man harassing her. His criminal record and probation result in his expulsion from his home school, so he moves in with a family friend in Tokyo where a school will accept him until his time’s up. Tokyo’s been strange for a little while now. Mysterious incidents have been causing disruptions for a while. There’s been a surge of “psychotic breakdown incidents” in which people act out unpredictably for seemingly no reason, and on rarer occasions “mental shutdowns” where people seem to completely break and die shortly after. The protagonist and friends get tied up in nonsense pretty quickly when a mysterious app on his phone transports him to a parallel world in which real locations of Tokyo are warped beyond recognition. The protagonist discovers the power of persona pretty early on, which he uses to fight the enemies there. With the help of a strange creature named Morgana, they learn that this is the “Metaverse”, a space in which the twisted desires and perceptions of people are made manifest. It’s a space where a person’s Shadow lords over a “Palace”, an altered version of real-world locations which reflects how that person views the world around them. They also learn that personas are the result of having a strong, rebellious will, allowing you to control your Shadow in combat. By breaking into a Palace, defeating the Shadow, and stealing the “Treasure” at its core, the Palace will crumble and the person in real life will come to grips with the morality of their actions, effectively outing themselves. This is referred to as stealing hearts, and the Phantom Thieves are born; they quickly become infamous in Tokyo, though their reputation attracts unwanted attention, as well as blame… could those breakdown incidents be related to the Metaverse, too? This game focuses heavily on the corruption of society, the abuse and manipulation of people in power, the ways in which our circumstances force us to hide parts of ourselves, ideas of justice, and all sorts of fun ideas of “rebellion”.
Pros:- ABSOLUTELY the best gameplay in the series. The controls are smooth, the battles and UI are streamlined, the visuals are absolutely stunning. This is the one that’s most fun to actually PLAY, bar none.- More of a stealth/heist game than a dungeon crawler, which is a fun spin on the series.- Excellent social commentary on the injustices young people face in a system stacked against them.- A really lovable cast of characters, and social links which actually grant you access to helpful gameplay features as incentive. Cons:- Sort of a small thing, but one of the game’s twists is a lot more fun to figure out if you’ve already played at least one other entry in the series.- Has some serious writing issues. The game has a very strong first half, but then starts to feel rushed the further along you get after a certain point. You can tell that the developers wanted to fit in a lot, but didn’t quite have the time to refine the ideas they implemented.- On that note, some of the character writing starts to regress or even becomes contradictory.- Has a couple instances of homophobia surrounding the Red Light District.
This got long, sorry, but I hope it’s helpful! like I said, you really can start anywhere, and you don’t have to play them in a particular order. Just pick the ones that seem the most interesting and have fun!
