Thinking more about the role reversal AU I have for Curtwen (btw I love how everyone has different ideas and they're all incredibly fascinating? This fandom is AWESOME i love yall so much <3) but just. This version of Curt would be terrified to take his DMA mask off. He feels the need to cling to it, especially post Torture Tango because if Owen figures out that it was him it'd actually destroy him. His mental state is so fragile at this point, those 4 years were not kind to him. He'd see himself as a damaged monster and more as the DMA than "Agent Curt Mega" at this point.

I feel like also we see how important fashion and appearance were to Curt in canon, so him with facial scars I feel like would be an incredibly dysphoric experience. Because thats not how he sees himself, thats not what he should look like. That's not him.

So like, his official reveal would be almost Phantom of the Opera esque. Owen knows it's him, has figured it out, and tries to take the mask off, but Curt is terrified. He hates who he's become, he hates how he looks, he hates what hes doing. But guess what Owen's stubborn too and that mask is coming off because he never thought he'd be this close to Curt again and by whatever cosmic being exists he's going to see him again, scars and all. And they're both going to have a good cry about it.

It's gonna be a bad experience for everyone involved. This is bad rambling but just... yeah.
