They push into Colorado, they air a little thinner, the temperature perfect--winter in the shade, summer in the sun because the lack of the humidity. They can already see mountains, way off in the distance, and August isn't even a hiking type of person? But he wonders if there's anything they can drive to, way up high, see the distance spread out before them.
He runs a hand through his hair, leaning back in the seat to stretch his back. Luci is asleep on the van floor, curled up in a blanket and pillow, soft music playing through the speakers. He glances over his shoulder at Ryan, a soft smile on the corners of his mouth.
"Welcome to Colorado." He says with a grin as they pass the sign on the side of the road.

College professors au + Buddie
Oh oh someone find that photo of Ryan with glasses on looking all hot and scholarly n shit 😍
Buck is a professor of Archeology (sorry I'm never going to get history buff Buck out of my mind) and Eddie is a professor of Classical Studies, with his area of expertise being Greek Mythology. Buck gets a job at UCLA as a part of the PhD programme and that's where he meets Eddie.
Buck had a lot of beef with the last Classics professor he worked with so he kind of expects Eddie to be the same, and is a little bit of a brat to him. However, when it's clear that Eddie isn't 1. 150 years old and 2. about as right winged as you can get, Buck perks up and they form an easy friendship.
The university wants to put together a group to go out to Kefalonia in Greece to partake in a dig. They're anticipating there to be a number of ancient Greek artifacts, including pottery, and want Buck and Eddie to go - Buck for his expertise in archelogy, Eddie for his in Greek Myth. Eddie is a little reluctant to go initially as he doesn't want to leave Christopher for an extended period of time, but Buck is so enthusiastic and starts planning out an extensive Greek holiday for after the dig, and this has been Eddie's dream since he was a kid so he decides to go.
Up until now, they haven't spent loads of time together, other than getting the occasional drink after lectures, or Eddie helping mark Buck's homework. Their dynamic changes quickly in the few flights it takes for them to get to Greece, and then to the island, and they quickly become inseparable. The people at the dig learn that there is no Professor Buckley without Professor Diaz, and visa versa. Buck takes an active part in the dig, getting all down in the dirt and truly in his element, with Eddie crouched at his side and gasping over the symbolism of the artefacts they uncover them. The dig lasts about 2 weeks, during which time Buck and Eddie become closer and closer until, one day, Buck finally takes things into his own hands and steps over that invisible line that's been painted between them.
The following month is one of the best of Buck's life. Eddie comes with him to the rest of Greece after the dig is finished, and they get to experience being together without the rest of the world prying. They go on dates, the swim in the ocean, they hike through the mountains, generally just enjoying one another's company. It's a rude shock when they have to get back to LA and to the university, but they declare their relationship pretty quickly. Eddie helps Buck come up with a Greek Pottery aspect of his syllabus, allowing him and Buck to work together on creating some assignments, which become some of the most popular assignments in the programme (if assignments can be popular)

Redneck Doug watches 'The Bad Batch: A Different Approach'
Believe it or not, this episode started the first real argument between Doug and I!
Hope y'all enjoy it.
CW: Language and Doug is surprisingly critical of fat folks, despite the fact that he's from one of the least healthy states in the USA, has a massive beer gut, and can put away a whole rack of ribs and multiple barbeque fixin's in one sitting. I've seen it in person, folks. We were snipping at each other over fatphobia, glass houses, and the merits of The Treasure State after this.
I might have sacrificed my invitation to his St Patrick's Day party as a result. Oh well.
---------------------------------------------------------
Episode 4: “Adventures in Space Montana”
(image from @ladyzirkonia)
And we’re starting off with Little Orphan Blondie behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle because the girl is every inch her hillbilly brothers family.
Why is the plane on fire? Does this end like Alive? I thought ships couldn’t burn in space, I mean, I studied engineering, worked in oil, girl I remember Event Horizon.
Whelp, they crashed in a cold-ass field with some pointy mountains behind them. Clearly Montana. Maybe there’s a national park nearby and they can go hiking.
Aw, no, Mutant Jimmers is stuck behind Daddy Warcrimes’s seat! Let the ol girl out before she pees all over the spare tire!
Did they bring their guns? Hope they did. This is Montana, the Texas of the north, except you can’t find the bodies anywhere. If I was gonna go and murder someone, I’d pick Montana after Alaska.
(Pictured: Omega and Crosshair are somewhere in this picture)
A sketchy cold-ass town where everyone’s gambling, there’s too much military trash wandering around and you see your breath even inside the bar? Yup, definitely Montana.
(“Montana is not like that! I’ve been there multiple times! I almost went to grad school at UM and the kayaking, skiing, hiking, and breweries are amazing!” - Me, defending a state I have never lived in
“Yeah, but have you been to Butte? Thought I was gonna go get eaten by the locals there.” - Doug
::proceed to bicker and fight via texts about the many merits and demerits of the Big Sky State::)
Aw yeah, Daddy Warcrimes and Little Orphan Blondie got new clothes. Smart man, covering his face, Daddy Warcrimes. He totally looks like me when I gotta rake the lawn in November. I like that sweater, think they’ll sell them at Disneyland?
And they’re back to gambling. See! I told you this was Montana! They even have a gun rack!
Look at Little Orphan Blondie taking down fools with some cards! I bet Ryan-from-Accounting is smiling watching from Heaven or wherever he’s fighting the Space Balrog to come back as Space Gandalf.
Oh who is this fat fuck. Lord a mercy, is he the one fat imperial we have ever seen? Man I tell you what I bet he’s too hefty to ride in an AT-AT and that’s why they sent him to Space Montana, thinking the hiking and eating venison and berries will slim that brother up.
Maybe Vader will force him to run while carrying Palpatine like we did to other recruits in the Navy.
Nope, he’s gambling with a little girl in a bar, because the Empire just can’t follow rules now can it. That don’t make any sense. I’m with you, Daddy Warcrimes, giving that sour puss to everyone. I would too.
And now Officer Fat Fuck is gone done taking money from a child who beat him fair and square. Yup, he works for the government, all right. I bet he manages the Empire’s DMV.
Creepy little street boy wants some cash to tell them where they took Mutant Jimmers. I don’t blame the boy, it looks like no one wants to buy his shitty watermelon and he ain’t got a face.
Why in the hell are there so many animals in crates and shit here? They starting a zoo or something? Is it all to feed Officer Fat Fuck? I need info on this.
Shit yeah, fire them guns, Daddy Warcrimes! It’s your time to shine, big boy!
Oh yeah they freed Mutant Jimmers! And everybody else. Oh man, is that a kraken? Whelp, its dinner tonight is Officer Fat Fuck. Good on ya, kraken, you may be named after the world’s worst hockey team but ain’t bad all the time now.
(pictured: they keep losing games but hey they at least eat imperial officers?)
Gotta fry some dumb Imperial while you’re leaving, of course. Why they wearing them goggles when they got helmets on? Shit, real dumb. Don’t like the Inspector Gadget trench coats either, those can get caught real quick in a door and that’s how you get shot and all.
Ah yeah, they saved their cash, grabbed a ship, and they’re off to the moon! There they go!
DADDY RAMBO LITTLE ORPHAN BLONDIE JULIO AND DADDY WARCRIMES ALL BACK TOGETHER! OH MY LORD MEAT MUFFIN I AIN’T EXPECTING THIS THIS EARLY! WOW!
(image from @dreamswithghosts)
And Mutant Jimmers is with them too. It’s a good day on the moon!

It’s here!! Summer fic exchange 2k23!! @thomasschabot it’s me hi I’m the problem it’s me (: So many apologies to go out. Sorry to @wyattjohnston because I actually suck at deadlines. #5dayslate Sorry to @thomasschabot because I had an idea for a fic, wrote it out, decided I hated it, deleted it, then didn’t write anything until July 20 (: But in all seriousness, I do hope that you love this fic
Also Ryan definitely did not get traded to Pittsburgh, it simply did not happen. If I don’t look at it, it’s not there.

Spring break at Rutgers University was so anticipated because of the time of the year. Most people were tired of the snow and chill, so the need to be down in the Florida sun was almost overwhelming. But, Grace loved the chill. She was from upstate New York. She burned in the sun, and it made her nauseous thinking about spending all day in the heat. So, she decided with her friends to take a trip to Crane Mountain. They invited all of their friends, and friends of friends to help offset the cost. It ended up becoming a trip of her 9 friends plus 16 more guests.
Grace was excited. Being back in upstate New York might offset the slight homesickness she felt. Grace and her best friend Maria were planning on sharing a room and bed. Everyone was paired up and then a few people were going to take the couches.
The group left on Friday afternoon, planning on staying 10 days. The drive didn’t take too long, though her legs were grateful to be free after being cramped up in a car for so long. She took in her surroundings, then took in the beautiful cabin they were going to stay in. The cabin’s background was even more picturesque. Rolling hills surrounded the cabin along with several other cabins where fellow hikers and visitors were staying. She grabbed her bag and joined Maria to quickly claim a room. They were already sharing a bed, so they wanted the opportunity to get first pick so they’d at least get the biggest bed.
Grace had never met most of the group she was traveling with. And she felt almost certain that some of them weren’t even college students. Despite her slight discomfort, Grace was determined to have a good time. Spring break meant no worries about school. Her senior year was coming to an abrupt close, and she just needed this break to find her peace again.
Her face kind of fell when Maria informed her that almost every room besides the master was filled with two beds, so they’d be sharing the room with at least one other person. They would simply have to make do. They spent the next half hour unpacking their necessities while waiting for someone to discover that all the rooms were taken except this one.
In walked a 6’5” man who looked just as startled as Grace and Maria. “Sorry, everywhere else is full. I can take the couch if you want…” he trailed off. Maria started to tell him to get the heck out of their room, but Grace grabbed her hand. He was the most beautiful man she’d ever seen. She didn’t even know his name, but she held out her hand.
“I’m Grace. You can have the bed, just if you need to change, use the bathroom. And let us use this room to change.”
“I’m Ryan. And I can definitely do that. Thanks.”
Maria gave Grace the “what are you thinking” look, and if she was being honest, she wasn’t quite sure what she was thinking. She thought he was attractive, and why shouldn’t she get to spend the next 10 days looking at him?
Grace decided to explore the property a bit more. She slipped on a jacket just in case the air turned chilly while she was out. She started down the path towards the pond. She definitely wanted to make good use of it. There was a paddleboard rental station close by. She just knew that would be the most perfect place to watch the sunset. There were so many hiking trails to explore, and the group was planning on taking a sunrise hike at least once.
She came back from exploring and found that some of the guys in the group started on dinner. It smelled so delicious, and she took a seat near the end of the table. Since she didn’t know many people, she figured she could sit with Maria. But Ryan had other plans for her that evening. He grabbed the seat to her left, and shot her a smile while grabbing some dinner rolls. He held one out to her, and she was so shocked, she didn’t take it right away.
“Earth to Grace? Sorry, I just know how hectic this bunch can get when it comes to food, and I wanted you to get a dinner roll before they all disappear,” he laughed. Maria decided to walk in at that moment, and upon seeing Grace with Ryan, she sat on the opposite end of the table. But to her surprise, Grace didn’t even notice. She felt at ease with Ryan, which isn’t a thing that normally happens. They talked all through dinner, like it was just the two of them, not a room of 25 people.
Dinner moved into the backyard of the cabin where a fire was slowly starting to burn. Adirondack chairs and blankets littered the grass around the fire and mini-conversations carried on from dinner. Grace and Ryan moved out onto a blanket further away from the fire to keep their conversation private.
“So how did you get invited on this trip?” Grace asked.
“One of my buddies is dating a girl that was invited on the trip, and he asked if I would come so he could know someone else. Funny thing is, I haven’t seen him since the ride up here. And they took the room with one bed, so I couldn’t crash with them.” He was a bit sheepish about his last statement. “But, I’m glad they did, ‘cause I wouldn’t have met you.”
“I’m glad to have met you, too.”
The night carried on until Grace and Ryan realized they were the last two outside. They giggled and snuck inside, trying their best not to wake anyone up. He kept his promise, changing in the bathroom while Grace changed in their room.
Grace climbed into bed with Maria, but quickly realized that this arrangement would not work. Maria was a small girl, but a huge bed hog. She left Grace about nine inches of mattress to work with. Grace tried to make all nine inches count, but she just couldn’t. She silently resigned herself to sleeping on the floor. She threw her blanket onto the floor as a makeshift area. She found her second blanket and took a pillow from under Maria’s head. It wasn’t the world’s comfiest bed, but it would do.
In the middle of the night, she heard Ryan get up to use the bathroom, but she quickly fell back asleep.
In the morning, Grace woke up in a bed. She was so startled, she jolted up. Taking in her surroundings, she saw Maria in their bed, and she saw her blankets on the floor. And Ryan in them. She was in Ryan’s bed. At first she felt horror, but then it changed to awe. Ryan must have pulled her up and sacrificed his back. She had no idea why.
She gently nudged him with her foot. “Ryan,” she whispered. He grunted softly, but turned towards her. After he wiped the sleepiness from his eyes, he looked at her with the biggest puppy-dog eyes. Grace had to admit, it was pretty adorable.
“I just didn’t want you to have a sore back. I saw you on the floor, and I just couldn’t leave you there.” He was sheepish, but she knew he would do it again.
“But what about your back?” Grace was still fighting the sleepiness in her voice, which made it a little raspy. She hoped that Ryan would say something like “I’ll be fine.” Instead, he completely surprised her by saying, “You keep the bed. I’ll take the couch. I definitely can’t sleep every night on the floor, but you deserve a bed.”
“What? No. Ryan, this is your bed. Last night, Maria was just being a bed hog, and I didn’t want to push her over. It’ll be better tonight and for the rest of the trip.”
Over the next few nights, it kept happening. After a fun day of whatever activities, Grace and Ryan ate dinner together, sometimes with Maria, and then they would be the last to turn in for bed, thus Grace would find Maria being a bed hog. She would swear up and down to Ryan that she was fine taking the floor, but she’d always wake up in a bed and Ryan was always on the floor.
On the last night, Grace and Ryan were talking on the Adirondack chairs again, talking about how much it was going to suck going back to their real lives.
“You’re a university student, right? Where do you go?” Ryan asked. He was sipping a beer, feet kicked up onto the table in front of them. He looked like a dream.
“I am. I go to Rutgers, the Newark campus. It’s been so great, but I’ve been trying to get my name out there for a job, and it has not been successful. And I have to find a place to live. I went on this vacation to kind of clear my head and re-energize because I’ve been so stressed.”
This was music to Ryan’s ears. “I’m in Newark, too! We should hang out more when we get back. I’ve really enjoyed this past week with you. And, if you’re looking for a place, you can stay in mine. I have an extra room. You don’t have to pay rent either. I’m all good.”
Grace’s jaw almost hit the floor. He was being so generous. And she almost couldn’t say no. It was the perfect offer. But, she had to. She barely knew the guy.
“What? Ryan, no. I can’t ask you to do something like that. I was just complaining. I’m going to figure it out.”
“Grace, I’m serious about it. I’m already there. And I like you a lot. I’d like to see where life takes us.” His smile was shy but so adorable. He wasn’t able to quite make eye contact with you. Grace felt her heart flutter. Butterflies and fireworks and all the movie cliches. Her cheeks must be tomato-red by now.
“I like you, too, Ryan. I’m really happy we met. And that you came into our room.”
“Let’s head to bed, yeah? We have a lot of traveling tomorrow.” He held out his hand, which Grace gladly took. Together, they walked back to the cabin, smiles as wide as anything.
When they got to the room, Ryan pulled Grace into a hug, and whispered into her ear so he wouldn’t wake Maria up, “You take the bed.”
“Only if you cuddle me.” Grace whispered back, shocked at her forwardness. She wasn’t known for being the type of person who asked for what she wanted.
Ryan nodded his head and said, “I was hoping you’d say that. I’m a great cuddler.” And he really was. Grace climbed into his bed, and immediately felt the warmth he radiated. He wrapped his arms around her. The next morning, they woke up to Maria’s gasp. “Guys! I knew it!” She was beaming ear-to-ear. Ryan kissed Grace’s forehead, and whispered, “I could get used to this.” He winked at her before rolling over to answer what would undoubtedly be Maria’s onslaught of questions.

not tea but tbh i don’t want the yotes to go to SLC. i don’t follow them but i think they just need help in az and moving them to another stadium not ready for hockey won’t help. also i wonder about the cultural impacts of that….marketing hockey to mormons? no hate to mormons but i don’t think that would make hockey more welcoming 🫠
yeaaahhh i mean i think hockey belongs in the desert and i'd love the yotes to stay there but... the NHLPA has been kicking up a huge fuss about the state of the arena, the locker rooms, the lack of professionalism the players have to deal with... if they get another arena built it's not going to be for 5+ years, and that was just too long for the NHL & NHLPA to wait. i can't say i disagree with that.
however, alex meruelo is an idiot and a con artist and is one of a long line of incompetent coyotes owners... like he wasn't even paying their hotel bills this szn until all the hotels banded together and forced him to pay w a check up front... he's been spending as little money on this franchise as possible, lying to his staff and players and the fans, and is now getting a huge pay day out if it... it's sick (derogatory)
it's rly sad bc hockey has clearly been successful there at a grassroots level - one of the best active players is from there (matthews), and the fans are clearly passionate as they've stuck with the team through decades of incompetence and bullshit. the nhl and the owners they trusted to take care of this franchise really fucked up and it's really sad to watch this go down.
in terms of SLC - i'm skeptical but i think it can work. yes there's a lot of mormons there ofc but it is genuinely a growing tech hub. i know of more than a few people in my circles who have moved there recently bc they can work for a local tech company/work remote/have access to big city amenities/have access to nature - skiing, mountain biking, hiking, etc.
this ryan smith dude seems like a bit of a weirdo. in general i don't trust wealthy culty tech bros (elon musk, anyone?) but he has a track record of purchasing and investing in a pro sports franchise (although purportedly the team hasn't been good underneath him - their STH base is strong). they are going to start off playing in an arena built for basketball, but they have a proper NHL-worthy arena on the way - with full local & state backing from both public and private sectors. they are already 10 steps ahead of arizona with regards to that, and that was one of the most important pieces to the NHLPA.
i do wonder how this is gonna work considering the strict alcohol and gambling laws in utah. sports betting is literally illegal there lol. i think one of the reasons vegas has done so well (besides the team just winning right off the bat, etc) is bc vegas has a party/entertainment culture... and when done right, the NHL is perfect for that. genuinely one of my fave things to do is go watch my local team, drink some beers, and soak in the atmosphere in the crowd. it's so fun. will require some major buy in from the growing corporate/tech crowd in SLC but as i said lots of younger people are moving there from other places so. we'll see how it goes.
they are getting a team with a ton of great young players and prospects (i do think some of the older players will request trades) and the owner seems willing to spend money and make a splash in free agency. if they get it right i think it can go really well.
i feel so, so bad for yotes fans who have lived through this long rebuild and are now having to watch their young players & prospects they were so excited for, grow and develop for a different city. it really sucks.

Vigilante Buck is heavily into extreme sports like skydiving, hang gliding and mountain climbing and picked up his hero skills from all the high adrenaline activities
He tries to drag Ryan and the others along on all his adventures but Sophie is the only one who can keep up with him.
The three of them went hiking on an advanced trail that ends on a cliff that overlooks all of Gotham and Ryan is so far behind them about to pass out
Sophie "really wilder we aren't even to the half way point"
Ryan "what do you mean we aren't halfway we've been hiking for an hour!"
And Buck ends up carrying Ryan on his back the rest of the way

THE GREAT OCEAN WALK: A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE
One of Victoria’s greatest walking tracks is the Great Ocean Walk. As it wraps around the coastline of the Southern Ocean, it gives those walking along it the rare opportunity to immerse themselves in this monumental location’s landscape, wildlife, and history. From sweeping ocean views to hidden rainforests, there is something for everyone.
For local and international visitors planning to travel along the Great Ocean Walk, many things are worth knowing before you set off. We have compiled a guide that will give you an insight into the location, what you can expect throughout your journey, and the important considerations to make as you plan.
The walk begins in Apollo Bay, a town in southwestern Victoria. Apollo Bay is a stop on the Great Ocean Road that winds along the coast, passing through the Great Otway National Park. Behind Apollo Bay are the mountains of Otway Ranges, partly forested and cleared for grazing and dairying. When you reach Apollo Bay, keep your eyes peeled for Apollo Bay Visitor Centre, as this will serve as the starting point for your journey.
Arrange your transportation from the end of your walk, Port Campbell, back to Apollo Bay (or where you have chosen to park your car). Shuttle services and public transport are available; we suggest organising your preferred transportation option before setting off.
The Great Ocean Walk is often travelled across eight days, allowing travellers to slow down and appreciate the sounds and sights at a gentle pace. There are also daily and multi-day trip options for covering the entire distance in a shorter timeframe.
Camping and lodge accommodations are available for those covering the distance over several days. Seven camping sites have been designed to be reached at the end of a daily hike, approximately ten to sixteen kilometres apart. To secure a camping spot or lodge, check availability ahead of time and book your accommodation.
The majestic locations available as you traverse the Great Ocean Walk can be separated into eight sections:
One: Apollo Bay to Elliot Ridge
Two: Elliot Ridge to Blanket Bay
Three: Blanket Bay to Cape Otway
Four: Cape Otway to Aire River
Five: Aire River to Johanna Beach
Six: Johanna Beach to Ryan’s Den
Seven: Ryan’s Den to Devils Kitchen
Eight: Devils Kitchen to Twelve Apostles
The Great Ocean Walk’s sections are classified as a ‘Grade 3’ hike. This classification was given as it is ‘suitable for most ages and fitness levels’ though some experience in bushwalking is recommended. Some steep staircases and gradients are presented throughout the walk—challenging terrain and areas that require a distance to be covered along the beach. Hikers should remain vigilant of the path as it can be wet and slippery in different areas or due to changing weather conditions.
One of the best ways to ensure a smooth and engaging experience on the Great Ocean Walk is by completing the trail with a licenced tour guide. When partnering with a tour company, of which there are over twenty locally, you have access to several services depending on your expected duration and personal needs. From transportation, guided tours, camping and safety equipment hire, supplying food, and more.
Engaging with a licenced tour operator means that a professional will complete all the planning and preparation, allowing you to relax and enjoy every moment of your journey.
If you are walking the Great Ocean Road Walk, whether in a group or independently, we recommend that you take some safety precautions:
There is limited phone reception along the walk, so ensure you mark the last location with reception to walk back to if you need to make an emergency call. We also advise being familiar with the emergency contact numbers 000 and 112.
Consider bringing a personal locator beacon or satellite radio to keep those waiting for you updated on your location or for emergencies.
It is essential to pack a First Aid kit or, where possible, travel with someone who is First Aid certified.
Be vigilant of snakes, especially in the warmer months. Keep your distance and make a wide berth if you come across one. Precautions include keeping your tent and belongings off the ground and secure, checking the area before sitting down, wearing hiking boots, gators, and pants, and more. See the Great Ocean Walk website for more details on ways you can keep safe along the trail.
Bushfires are a serious risk, and the Great Ocean Walk is a high-risk area, especially during the summer. We recommend checking the fire rating for the days you intend to be walking and being familiar with bushfire safety, which you can read more about through the Visit Victoria website.
Many beaches along the trail experience rogue waves and tide changes. Wreck Beach, in particular, is a high-risk area. Keep a minimum ten-metre distance from the water. We also recommend checking the tide timetable. Only travel down to the beach if it is low tide and safe, and remain aware of quickly changing conditions.
You will need expert guidance and organisation for a truly memorable experience on the Great Ocean Walk. With Auswalk, you can enjoy guided, self-guided and tailored walks across Australia. As your qualified travel companion, you can leave everything to us – from accommodation to food. It’s not just about getting you to the destination but also about the journey that leads to it. Come and see the hidden gems of the Great Ocean Walk with Auswalk; contact us today to start your journey.

(—) ★ spotted!! LOUIE WILEY on the cover of this week’s most recent tabloid! many say that the THIRTY-NINE year old looks like CHRIS HEMSWORTH, but i don’t really see it. while the ACTOR is known for being ASSERTIVE my inside sources say that they have a tendency to be CALLOUS i swear, every time i think of them, i hear the song WITHOUT ME- EMINEM {he/him / cismale} - penned by laice again!
basics
full name: louie ryan wiley nickname: lou, lewis age: thirty-nine gender: cismale pronouns: he/him hair color: brunette sometimes with blonde highlights eye color: blue sexual and romantic orientation: hetero occupation: actor tattoos: same as fc favorite season: summer favorite color: purple favorite music: rock favorite animal: sloths fears: being poor. hobbies: rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking.
biography
louie grew up in melbourne australia, he was born to two farmers and lived on a very small ranch. he had nothing growing up and he hated it. he always yearned for more. he resented his parents for having a child they could barely afford, he resented them even more when they had a second. it meant they had even less for him. he knew from a very young age that he was going to do whatever it took to make it big and be able to roll around in his money.
he auditioned for many, many tv shows and films, and got a few cameos here and there, appeared on neighbours like every aussie who made it big did. but his first big break was when he was cast as jack in titanic. and from there his career just sky rocketed, and everything he’d ever wished for came true.
of course to the public perception and the media he was a golden boy, he was hot, australian, the ‘nice guy’ in interviews, the one who made everyone laugh. he had it down to a tee, but that was simply not true behind close doors. anyone in the industry or who knew him personally knew he was downright evil. he cared about one thing only and that was making more money. he wasn’t generous or kind or caring. he only thought about himself and he made sure everyone knew what he thought of them.
he never dates over thirty. he prefers whatever hot, young model was on the scene next. and he always got away with it because he was a heartthrob. and as soon as they aged out of his category he was onto the next and he always found a way to make it seem like it was their fault. of course they tried to slander his name in public, but somehow everyone usually took his side, he was the dream man after all, how could he not be perfect?
he is a father to one son who he never sees. he sends the checks for child support and calls it a day. he never intended to be a dad and as far as he was concerned that child was an accident and a huge mistake. he wants nothing to do with him, another thing that wasn’t surprising for anyone who knew him personally. he was too selfish to care about a child.
wanted connections
baby mama- the person he got knocked up and now is a single mother to their son. he actively avoids her as much as he can, doesn’t show up to any baseball games, birthday parties or christmases. he’d call her his biggest regret of a relationship
the current hookup/gf- they’d have to be in the 21-30 age range, if they’re nearing 30 they’re getting close to getting the boot and being replaced. he would shower them in gifts while gaslighting them constantly
partner in crime- another asshole he can be an asshole with, preferably around his age.
costars- i’m going to have his filmography up in a bit but it’s going to have a leo dicaprio/ryan reynolds/bit of chris hemsworth vibes.
the one who calls him out on his shit- either they’re friends and they do it or they hate each other and they do it, i don’t mind which
the ex he runs back to- i wouldn’t use the term run really, just if he figures it’s time to cheat he calls them up.

Next up was a girls trip to Joshua Tree for Sam’s 30th birthday. We rented an awesome airbnb with a pool and Sam planned out a great combination of relaxing, hiking and partying for the weekend.
Key highlights
- we did a few hikes, Ryan mountain was harder but nothing crazy, very dessert heavy terrain so it didn’t feel particularly unique but still enjoyed the hikes. We also did forty nine palms oasis hike and it was mostly flat or up/down terrain both ways.
- checked out a market in Joshua tree town one day spontaneously after seeing a sign
- tried an amazing restaurant Sam found called kitchen in the dessert - it was a beautiful outdoor vibe and the food was delicious
- one night we went out in the town - there’s really only 2 bars that are walkable to each other. Next time we would do red dog first then pappy and Harriet’s
- Sam booked a yoga session one morning which was fine but we were too hungover and then she also booked a private chef for dinner one night and it was delicious - a very fun experience!
- on the way back to LAX, we stopped in Palm Springs to do the Palm Springs aerial tram - such a beautiful view and a cute little mountain walk at the top too - highly recommend this!

Yeti Rambler’s Role in the Outdoor and Lifestyle Industry
The outdoor and lifestyle industry has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, with consumers seeking products that not only enhance their experiences in nature but also fit seamlessly into their daily lives. Among the brands leading this charge is Yeti, a company that has redefined outdoor gear through innovation, durability, and a keen understanding of consumer needs. One of Yeti’s flagship products is the Rambler series, a line of insulated drinkware that has become synonymous with high-quality hydration solutions. The Yeti Rambler role in the outdoor and lifestyle industry is significant, impacting both the outdoor gear market and Yeti’s broader product ecosystem.
Yeti’s Impact on the Outdoor Gear Market
Before diving into the specifics of the Yeti Rambler, it’s essential to understand Yeti’s overall impact on the outdoor gear market. Founded in 2006 by brothers Roy and Ryan Seiders, Yeti was initially known for its premium coolers, designed to be exceptionally durable and to retain ice for extended periods. These coolers were aimed at serious outdoors enthusiasts—those who required top-tier equipment for fishing, hunting, camping, and long trips in the wilderness. However, Yeti’s appeal quickly extended beyond its initial target audience, gaining traction among casual consumers who valued quality, reliability, and a rugged aesthetic.
Yeti’s coolers became a status symbol, and the brand capitalized on this momentum by expanding its product line to include drinkware, bags, and other accessories. One of the key innovations of Yeti’s products is their durability; whether you’re navigating rough terrain or simply commuting to the office, Yeti products are built to last. This shift in the market, where outdoor gear is not only for the most hardcore adventurers but also for everyday use, reflects a broader trend in the industry—consumers are now seeking multifunctional gear that blurs the line between outdoor adventure and everyday lifestyle.
The Yeti Rambler: A Game-Changer in Drinkware
The Yeti Rambler is an insulated drinkware product designed to keep beverages hot or cold for extended periods. Available in a variety of sizes and styles, from tumblers to water bottles to mugs, the Rambler is built to withstand extreme conditions while maintaining the perfect temperature of your drink. This feature has made it a must-have for outdoor enthusiasts who need reliable hydration options during long hikes, camping trips, or fishing expeditions.
What sets the Rambler apart from other insulated drinkware on the market is its robust construction. Made from kitchen-grade stainless steel, it is puncture- and rust-resistant, ensuring that it can survive drops, scratches, and even extreme weather conditions. The double-wall vacuum insulation technology ensures that your coffee stays hot during chilly mornings, or your water stays ice-cold during the hottest summer days. Additionally, the Rambler features a “No Sweat” design, which prevents condensation on the exterior, ensuring your hands stay dry.
Beyond its technical features, the Yeti Rambler has also made an aesthetic impact. Yeti has mastered the art of creating products that are not only functional but also visually appealing. With its sleek, minimalistic design and variety of color options, the Rambler appeals to both outdoor enthusiasts and urban dwellers alike. Whether you’re hiking a mountain or walking into a meeting, the Rambler’s style fits seamlessly into any setting.
How the Rambler Fits into Yeti’s Broader Product Ecosystem
The Rambler is a key part of Yeti’s broader product ecosystem, which includes coolers, bags, chairs, and accessories. All of Yeti’s products share the same commitment to quality, durability, and functionality, making them ideal companions for any adventure—whether in the great outdoors or navigating daily life.
One of the significant ways the Rambler complements Yeti’s other products is by offering a hydration solution that matches the performance of Yeti’s renowned coolers. Just as a Yeti cooler can keep ice frozen for days, the Rambler keeps drinks at the desired temperature for hours on end. This makes it the perfect companion for a Yeti cooler during a camping trip, ensuring that all aspects of the consumer’s outdoor experience are enhanced.
Moreover, Yeti has developed accessories for the Rambler, such as different lids and caps (e.g., the MagSlider Lid and Chug Cap), which offer customization based on the user’s needs. These accessories further integrate the Rambler into the Yeti ecosystem, creating a cohesive experience for the consumer.
Yeti’s bags, such as the Hopper series of soft coolers and the Camino Carryall, also complement the Rambler. Whether you’re packing a lunch for a day hike or keeping drinks cold on a boat, the Rambler fits neatly into a Yeti bag, offering a convenient, all-in-one solution for food and beverage storage and transportation.
Lifestyle Integration and Brand Appeal
While Yeti products are designed with the outdoors in mind, they’ve successfully transcended into the broader lifestyle market. The Rambler, in particular, is used by people not just on camping trips or hikes, but in everyday settings—at the office, gym, or even in the car. This versatility is one of the reasons why Yeti has become a lifestyle brand, appealing to consumers who may not be avid adventurers but who appreciate high-quality, durable products.
The Rambler has become a symbol of Yeti’s brand identity, representing the intersection of ruggedness, reliability, and style. By creating products that appeal to both outdoor enthusiasts and everyday consumers, Yeti has solidified its place in the outdoor and lifestyle industries.
Conclusion
The Yeti Rambler is more than just a piece of insulated drinkware; it’s a key player in Yeti’s broader strategy to dominate both the outdoor and lifestyle markets. With its blend of performance, durability, and style, the Rambler appeals to a wide range of consumers, from hardcore adventurers to casual users. By fitting seamlessly into Yeti’s ecosystem of coolers, bags, and accessories, the Rambler enhances the outdoor experience and serves as a symbol of Yeti’s commitment to quality and innovation.

A Guide to the Breathtaking Landscapes of North Cascades National Park in Washington
by Paige Guscott Discover the awe-inspiring beauty of North Cascades National Park Washington. Immerse yourself in breathtaking landscapes and adventure..... About North Cascades National Park Washington Nestled in the northern part of Washington State, North Cascades National Park Washington is a hidden gem that boasts a number of breathtaking landscapes. The North Cascades National Park Service Complex, including the national park itself, Ross Lake, and Lake Chelan National Recreation Areas, together encompass an area that is truly captivating. Spanning over 500,000 acres, the park offers an immersive experience into the heart of nature. It's a hub of ecological diversity and geological marvels that welcomes approximately 30,000 visitors each year, according to the National Park Service, the organization that maintains all our national parks. Photo by Ryan Stone on Unsplash Northern Section of the North Cascades National Park Complex The northern section of the North Cascades National Park Washington Complex is where the rugged beauty truly begins to unfold. This area is characterized by its steep, craggy peaks, including notable mountains like Mount Shuksan and Mount Baker - both iconic symbols of the Pacific Northwest's wilderness. These towering peaks are not just a paradise for climbers and hikers but also serve as critical habitats for a wide range of wildlife. From the elusive gray wolves and black bears to the majestic bald eagles soaring above, the biodiversity in this region is remarkable. Venturing deeper into the northern part of the park, visitors will encounter the wonders of the alpine landscape. The park is renowned for its extensive networks of trails that meander through lush valleys, over serene streams, and under the shadows of towering ancient fir and cedar trees. One such trail, the Cascade Pass, offers an accessible yet profoundly rewarding hike, providing panoramic views of jagged peaks and glacier-clad mountains that define the North Cascades. The pass serves as a gateway to other remote areas, encouraging those who trek its path to explore further into the wilderness. Ross Lake Section of North Cascades National Park Complex National Park outside of Alaska. These icy giants contribute significantly to the park's dramatic landscape and are crucial for the water systems within the region. Melting glaciers feed rivers and streams, supporting a diverse aquatic ecosystem and supplying fresh water to the surrounding areas. The Ross Lake section exemplifies this intricate relationship between glaciers and aquatic ecosystems. Ross Lake itself is a stunning, elongated reservoir nestled among steep, wooded hills and rocky peaks. A product of the damming of the Skagit River, this lake extends for over 20 miles and crosses into Canada, showcasing the international significance of the park's natural resources. The area around Ross Lake is popular among kayakers, anglers, and hikers who seek solitude and the thrill of exploring the backcountry. Several trails around the lake offer views that are as varied as they are stunning, from dense forest paths to high ridge walks with expansive vistas of the North Cascades. Adjacent to Ross Lake is the equally mesmerizing Diablo Lake, known for its striking turquoise waters—a result of glacial flour that flows into the lake from nearby glaciers. Lake Chelan Section of the North Cascades National Park Complex Lake Chelan, another jewel within the North Cascades National Park Wahington Complex, further highlights the diversity and beauty of the region. This deep, fjord-like lake is one of the deepest in the United States and offers a unique landscape shaped by glacial forces over millennia. Surrounding the lake, steep mountainous terrain covered in lush forests provides a striking contrast to the clear blue waters. The Lake Chelan area is more remote and less accessible than other parts of the park, offering a more secluded experience for visitors seeking tranquillity amidst nature’s grandeur. The lake's northern end is home to the small town of Stehekin, only accessible by boat, seaplane, or foot, which adds to its allure as a remote escape. Stehekin serves as a base for exploring the surrounding wilderness, with access to numerous trails that delve deep into the heart of the park. The area’s isolation has helped preserve its natural beauty and supports a lifestyle deeply connected to the environment. Diverse Landscapes What sets North Cascades national park Washington apart is its diverse array of landscapes and recreation areas. From rugged mountains that challenge even experienced climbers, to crystal clear lakes, there's something for every nature enthusiast. The lush forests invite hikers to wander through trails carpeted with pine needles and ferns, listening to the calls of local wildlife. Exploring the Mountain Ranges Looking up at the North Cascades, you are met with an array of jagged peaks that pierce the sky, some reaching elevations of over 9,000 feet. Among these natural skyscrapers, over 300 glaciers can be found in the park..... Read More... Read the full article

Best portraits from week 5 hike
These photos above are my favourite. Top left is Ivan, top right is Sam, and bottom landscape portrait is Ryan. The reason I love these portrait photographs over all the others is that they communicate a story. With their full gear on, encompassed by the background being of nature alongside the angles and poses I used, I believe they each tell a different story. Ryan with a the power pose, shot from a higher angle that I could find. For the photograph of Ivan, I used a lower angle to capture just the top of the mountain, but on a larger focal length as to enlarge the background of the mountain. Finally the shot of Sam was a good learning curve as I utilised low exposure as to give off a silhouette effect.
