As a treat, I thought I'd show my age today. I'm working on a full design for Suvi and all I've ever pictured from the start is a certain internet sensation from my youth. The scene where Kyana uses her Limbo abilities to make a mini.........

not sure if this counts as an AU but.. thinking about the Per Aspera crew as horror game bosses like.. you are wandering through a forested mountain range and you know somethings wrong because the forest shouldn't be this eerily silent, this devoid of life, and then you hear the crash of falling trees and there is a hand that is half your size glowing golden in the night and it is grabbing you and its claws are digging into your flesh and you see the spines running down the golden arm that is far too long as it lifts you over a crater in mountain, over a coiled, serpentine thing with a visage that is not of this world, and if you look closely you can see the shape of a child curled at the centre of the thing, golden hair reflecting the glow of the creature and if you listen closely you can hear her sobbing, 'Don't hurt me, I don't want to do this'. you are sailing through the astral sea when you see an ephemeral, resplendent spelljammer cutting through the starry waters and you rejoice because you have been lost on the seas for so so long, so you board the ship looking for help, supplies, anything, and you are greeted by a blue fire genasi (you wonder, do those even exist? but you can't get off the ship now because where else will you go?) and she tells you she is the captain of this ship but as far as you can tell there is no crew on board, and if she is not appearing right behind you from a trapdoor you've never noticed she is always in the engine room 'fixing the ship' even though the ship seems to be sailing perfectly fine ('Where are we going?' you ask her once and she doesn't even turn to look at you, 'Don't worry about it') and if you are ever so unlucky as to damage the ship in any way, you begin to catch flashes of red and orange out of the corner of your eye, a fire genasi wearing the woman's face who whispers at you with hollow, angry eyes 'Don't you fucking dare hurt my ship'. you are sailing through the astral sea when you see a rotting, decaying spelljammer, so badly damaged it's barely moving although you have to wonder how it's even staying afloat at all, and out of some morbid curiosity you climb on board and the deck of the ship is in no better shape than the hull, the marks of hard-fought battle - scars in the wood from sharp blades and arcane energies, stains of blood and oil splattered about - still fresh but you know time doesn't pass on the astral sea so who knows how long ago this all took place, and as you climb below decks you start to notice the writings on the walls, pieces of parchment nailed to every surface and connected with fraying, rotting threads, or words etched directly into the wood, the deep gouges barely readable, and you start to hear the creaking and clanking of rusted machinery slowly moving about and you turn a corner to see a figure standing in a room facing the wall, slowly scratching yet more of that unintelligible writing into the bones of the ship, and it turns as the rusted dented mechanite stares at you with eyes ablaze and he asks 'Who are you? Where is my crew?' as sparks of arcane lightning begins to arc through the room. you are running through a feywild forest and you know, even without the figure chasing you, that you have made a horrible mistake, you should have known better, should have been more careful, should have kept your impulses in check, and now you are being chased through an unfamiliar forest and the figure, the Hunter pursuing you knows this realm like the back of his hand, knows every tree and shrub and vine that is slithering up to grasp at your ankles, and you glance back desperately to catch any glimpse of your pursuer but there is no pursuer, he has hidden himself with some arcane trick or some innate power or just the knowledge that this realm is his home, and you hear his voice even though you cannot see him as he cries out 'You should not have hurt my family. Prepare to face the Hunter of Hundkiln'

The Per Aspera is truly made up of weird little dudes bc not just all the crew’s WLDs but also that 3/4 of them are the weird little dudes of Millennia Old Powerful Entities and they’re just vibing

The way VR-LA becomes a Cleric is so hilarious when zoomed out at the right angle. Mans literally said 'consider it a prayer' and ACTED SURPRISED when Mystra gave him a littol pat on the head and began treating him like her special littol pet cleric boy. Like VR-LA you HAVE to know Mystra's modern worship primarily consists of 'Dear Mystra: I would appreciate if you did not let my spell fuck up, please and thank you.' and 'Dear Mystra: I am in need of some divine inspiration for this spell, if that is okay.' Then you turned around and just HANDED HER THE COMPASS ON THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN YOUR GODDAMN LIFE and said 'You. I want You to help me. Consider this a uniquely religious act of outreach. Also I Do Not Trust You.'

Interplanar goddess sees some robot peering through The Weave, a thing no one else to her memory has done because How And Why The Fuck Would You Do That??? Decides to appear before him to get a good look at this guy and says One Word to him, then a week later he cosmically pages her personal phone number saying 'Okay don't freak out but I found your number because I need your help with something Incredibly Personal To Me. If you'd please. Also I've functionally already contractually obligated you to do this.'

Girl raises an eyebrow, thinks 'Oh, this little dude's exactly the right flavor of fucked up', and proceeds to hold his littol hand through the big scary mission he asked her to hold his hand for and trusting him to be a good boy who makes good decisions. He would say he asked for her help and guidance, a completely different thing from holding hands. He has not let go. He has actively gotten More Invested in this relationship to divinity.

And then AS-TR spells out the big important lesson he learned that led him to lean into the Cleric thing and he just goes '... Oh. Yes.'

Ok RWD season 4 finale rambling time:

Sooooooo that was the tensest I’ve been during a fight in a while!

I initially couldn’t catch what the name of the Inevitable was and thought it was the Arbiter, so I was like “Ace Attorney legal battle?” but no lol

I mean kind of at the end but y’know

The moment with Suvi was sweet though, many found family points lol

Also fucking love the bits about Vhas and VRLA’s warding rings 😂 I don’t ship it seriously but it is very funny

And then the season cliffhangerrrrrr ahhhhh

I’m less freaking out and more “extremely well executed, perfect no notes” but also I knewwww when they asked Cashmere (that’s not his name I know but I’m not looking up the spelling rn y’all know who I mean lol) if he’s been keeping his mouth shut and he was like “yeah totes!” that that was going to come back to bite them. I totally thought in the episode they’d follow that up a bit more but yeah no lol

When they said next season starts in January I was like “WHAT?! That’s a way longer break than before?!” But then I realized it’s mid September and no, it’s not really that far away it’s the same amount of break time my brain is just stuck in June asfdhdgwusjxnsk

But this was the perfect way to close out a day after I interviewed for a new job (which I got!) and I am very hype for the new season 🥰

Okay so like I was having an existential crisis over Kyana and Suvi and lowkey wrote poetry something about it

To be Kyana and realize that your body is not all your own. Or is that even true? Are you the combination between the immortal soul of Suvi and the human? Is it human? Can you even call any part of yourself human? Soul that you came with? How much are your decisions your own? How much are your emotions your own? Why did you have to be different from everyone you’ve ever met?

To be Suvi and have to watch the newest person you reside within be raised by your eternal enemy. Not even that. Their pets. You watch as she is put through what no child should ever have to go through. You can do nothing but watch and try to give her the feeling of thisisbad-needtogetout-runrunrunescape. She knows not of your existence. She knows not of her kind. You spend 19 years watching. Waiting. Hoping. Escape. Please. She blames herself, always, over everything, despite the fact she had no control. You cannot blame her for blaming herself, you’d be a hypocrite if you did.

thinking about rwd/ak crossover ideas again because arknights is just the cosmic microwave background radiation of my brain 👍 but like ak has a very specific character design style that i just cannot.. replicate at my skill level so these ideas are just gonna stay at shitpost level only

anyway draco/more realistically vouivre dani because dragon dani fuck yeah, probably a core caster with a similar skillset gimmick to ceobe where each skill does wildly different things bc they represent different weapons she has (one of them is the spitfire and she just turns into a sniper lmao)

i want to say sarkaz vhas like just setting aside the... everything the vibes work out. anyway vhas skill monkeys a bit too much to fit nicely into an ak class but maybe lord guard with some team buffs? i mean he'll be very busted but vhas is just Like That

finbar as vouivre/oni guardian defender, basically saria+hoshiguma now that one works out. maybe throw in a shift skill for the pixies

kyana... i almost want to say anasa but we don't really have enough lore on them to say for sure (idk i haven't read jieyun's file) or race: unknown could also work. anyway kyana duellist guard with maybe like a range extend talent for suvi's 10-foot reach. it works!

VR-LA is. complicated cuz ak does actually have robots but not that kinda robots. anyway my gut reaction was mechanites = sankta and the more i think about it the more it kinda works out?? but specifically for angst value?? like amnesiac VR-LA still feeling that connection to the old crew because of the empathy link, maxim being a fallen sankta or more realistically somehow learning to close off his empathy link after his whatever (insert dumb animal joke here), DX-TR being a fallen when they fight him in 3.10 but specifically only falling after the raid because back then he hadn't planned on hurting his crew but that changing after tu'narath (maybe even deliberately hurting the old crew so he would fall just to make sure that the rest of them can't tell what he's thinking) .. like there's definitely something here. anyway chain caster VR-LA with bing as a summon like pozëmka's typewriter. now that's another easy one
