Anyone know if there’s someone I can follow that posts rwby events like zines and ship weeks? Like a fandom calendar account?

Okay, RWBY’s timeline makes me angry, in terms of months and years, not the events.
In order, the things we know about the timeline that we learn are the following:
In Volume 2, the 2nd to last episode Weiss says “students visiting from Vacuo will be arriving by ship today” and that stuff for the Vytal Festival is already being set up. Now we know the students come to the kingdom hosting the festival, and they seem to spend the second semester at a foreign kingdom, considering Sun and Neptune were taking missions like the other 1st years.
In Volume 2, Ruby says that they are in the second semester and that the Vytal Festival is at the end of the year. End of the school year, or end of the actual year (like one of the last few months)?
In Volume 3 Ruby says it is fall, so Sept, Oct or November. I still recall plenty of greenery on the trees, so probably Sept, it’d be Oct if more leaves were on the ground. The only time we see leaves on the ground if I recall is when Ruby and Yang are back at Patch, it only seems like a few though. To answer the previous question about the school year or actual year, it’s probably the actual year. Even if it is kind of early fall is kind of near the end of the year.
Volume 4 is 6-8 months later, so either March-May, April-June, or May-July. I know we don’t know Remnant’s months, so I’ll just use our Earth months.
In Volume 5, Ghira says they have till the Fall semester before the WF attacks Haven, then later Ozpin says they have a month to train before classes resume. In our American schools, the Fall semester is August to December.
Volume 6 takes place in the north and no particular time stuff is mentioned, only that it’s like 2 weeks later after Vol 5.
Time is weird and can Rooster Teeth give us a fucking official Remnant calendar! Also a layout of the Beacon Academy Campus please we need that for fanfics!

Ok essay time since I’m seeing people complaining about the age difference of Ruby and Oscar on a near daily basis.
Their age difference is fine.
For one thing, Ruby and Oscar are only 2 years apart. Everybody seems to forget that time is a thing. I see a lot of people complaining that Ruby is 17 while Oscar is 14, but they are forgetting that time is a thing. There was a time when I was 17 years old and my best friend was 20 years old. That may seem a bit weird, because through numbers alone, that means we’re three years apart. But reality? That time that we were “3 years apart” lasted less than 2 weeks.
During volume 4, it was confirmed that Ruby was 16. During the same volume it was confirmed that Oscar was 14. Meaning, they are around 2 years apart. If Ruby is 17 now, it happened somewhere around volumes 5-6. Not only that, but we do not have confirmation on age changes for the rest of the cast. However, if you age Ruby up to 17, according to the logic I have been seeing, it is also appropriate to age up the rest of the cast. So that includes Oscar in this. Meaning he would be 15 now.
Speaking of Ruby being 17, this information is NOT from a reliable source (Sorry Lindsay). The information about Ruby’s age came from Lindsay during a Let’s Play, who thinks Ruby is 17 now. It did not come from the writers, directors, or producers. During RWBY Rewind, Lindsay was asked again how old Ruby was and she responded “I think 17 now because her birthday is in October?” She was not completely sure herself. Not only that, but she based it off of the current calendar as opposed to the series’ timeline. In canon, we do not know what time of year it is.
The age gap is really not that bad. Remember that all the other ships with Ruby (WhiteRose, Nuts n Dolts, Ladybug, Lancaster, etc.) ALL of them have a 2 year age difference as well. And don’t get me started on ships like Rosewick which were pretty prominent back in the day. Ruby was 16 when she entered Beacon. This is a high school junior with college freshmen. Now with Rosegarden, it’s the equivalent of a high school freshman dating a high school junior. THIS IS NOT ODD. It actually happened a few times in my high school.
Not only is the age gap acceptable, but Miles and the rest of the cast agreed that it was fine. Need proof?
youtube
He literally said it was fine.
And as Lindsay said “They’re just holding hands guys.” That’s the thing with Rosegarden. A large majority of the people that ship it, don’t think of it as a “sin” ship or anything like that. Of the 83 Rosegarden fics on ffn.net, 3 are smut. That means only 3.6% is smut. On AO3, 7 out of 87 are smut, a whopping 8% (and of those 7, one was cross-posted on ffn.net). Now I’m not going to compare these numbers to other Ruby ships as I do not want to spark any problems, but know that in a vast majority of these fics, Oscar and Ruby are aged up. I do want to say that I’m actually glad for this fact as not a lot of people do that for other Ruby ships (remember that Ruby is also underage please).
I’ll address the issue of Ozpin another time as it’s getting pretty late here and I have an early class in the morning. As always, if you have any issue, don’t be afraid to message me. I’m always up for a friendly debate.

RTX RWBY Panel Day 1
We’ll have two more of these for RWBY, same news will be at all of them but Q&As will be different.
RWBY panel naturally fills the room.
RWBY Girls, Miles, Kerry, Gray, Paula. Miles is cosplaying as David.
Panel opened with a Chibi episode, “Evil Dreams.” Stream didn’t get it because we can’t have nice things.
Tom Alverado (Chibi writer) was in the audience.
More Chibi panels on Sunday. Kerry promises new things (maybe they’ll actually be on screen -_-).
Volume 6 premiere in theaters on October 25th, as was leaked yesterday. Some Volume 5 will be shown to pad out the runtime. Firsties get it October 27th.
Gray talks about the Viz Manga anthologies. These were made by the RWBY Japanese community. Ruby one already out, limited quantities of the Weiss manga are now in the RT store, on sale from August 21st, Blake manga available from November 12th, Yang in Q1 2019. Barbara complains about how the Yang stuff always comes last.
New manga announced, is gonna be a graphic novel version of V1 and V2. Different writer than the one who made the trailer adaptations, published in Shonen Jump.
RWBY: After the Fall by EC Myers is the Scholastic novel we heard about a few weeks ago. It focuses on Team CFVY a year after the Fall of Beacon, training at Shade Academy in Vacuo(!), but then they go defending refugees and deal with the Fall of Beacon and everything that came before. Set for Summer 2019. They specifically mention Fox.
New Jazzwares toys. Volume 4 and 5 RWBY outfits. They look like Funko pops I hate them. Metallic variants of Beacon JNPR. Also include Qrow, Oscar, Raven, Volume 4 Cinder. Dust Rock Candy. New calendar. Wireless headphones. Drinking stuff.
New clothes now part of the Forever 21 Anime Collection. Also in Target and Hot Topic. Gamestop socks.
RWBY Songs in Rock Band. This Will Be The Day confirmed, two more coming soon.
New Amity Arena trailer, it’s on Twitter. Glynda was spotted in it.
New Grimm Eclipse. PJs from Volume 1. New Horde mode, campaign and game mode. More DLC afterwards including PJs for RWBY and JNPR (including never-before-seen ones for Ren and Pyrrha) and the Volume 4 outfits. More announcements coming soon.
New Character Short. It’s about Adam and should be out in the next two weeks.
Miles basically admitted that the Volume 5 shorts took time and money away from Volume 5 proper.
They’re “Starting to slow down” on the White Fang plot, but Adam’s not gone yet.
Barbara: “The slogan of the season: Will we see Adam’s face Volume 6.”
“As far as writing goes, we’re in a lot better shape.” By RTX last year they were wrapping up chapter 8, this year they’re at 13. They’re writing them out in chunks and getting other people in-house to beta read it.
New Yang art by Ein Lee. Other RWBY art will be in the next few months. It’s being done in reverse order (seemingly to spite Barbara).
Something about Fair Use from a guy who makes a crack vid. Gray gives general advice regarding copyright.
How hard has it been to continue RWBY since Monty died? Extremely. Barbara would like it in general if people stopped asking Monty questions at panels.
What if RWBY got the Infinity Gauntlet? Lindsay: Let’s just say half my team would be gone in the snap of a finger. Barb: Ruby I don’t feel so good! Miles thinks Jaune would fuck up so bad with it. Gray: I’m never gonna look at that Pyrrha shot the same way again. Yang would think Ember Celica is better.
How do you edit an episodic script? - Start at the big season-wide level, break it down into a scene level and start writing. With Volume 6 they have a new approach of doing it in batches that flows better and lets them edit better. Miles still seems to like looking for cliffhangers- “would this actually create a really cool cliffhanger if we switched this around?” Sometimes you just have to scrap something.
My friend @rubblesrose was at the panel! She was the one who said “Moist.” Bless her heart. For writing, what’s been the most surprising thing for when you read the script/had the idea for the moment? Lindsay thought Ruby’s truama in volume 3 was interesting. Barb- Adam cuts Yang’s arm off. Kara- when Cinder impaled Weiss. Arryn teases that something shocking was in volume 6, “It’s so cool! And shocking!” Miles has an idea from volume 1 that’s finally showing up in volume 6.
Over the course of these years, what’s changed the most about you? Lindsay: I’m a mom now. Lindsay wins the question. Gray is also a dad now. Arryn moved to LA as a result of RWBY.
Arryn stole toys to hand out to the audience like a feline Santa Claus..
Favorite and least favorite parts of making the show? Lindsay: Waiting. Miles hates waiting, but loves doing the punch-up sessions with the other new writers.
Favorite thing to record? Lindsay liked recording Players and Pieces. Miles liked Jaune yelling at Cinder. Kara liked Weiss yelling at people in volume 4. Barbara liked the volume 5 finale where Yang yelled at Raven. Paula liked Teenage Faunus Ninja Catgirl. Arryn loved talking to Ghira. Kerry liked the volume 3 finale.
New RWBY Co-Director. His name is Connor (he’s the android sent by Cyberlife).

Manga the Week of 7/21/21
SEAN: July continues to exist, despite the best efforts of calendar cancellers. What manga do we have?
ASH: A fair bit, it would seem!
SEAN: Airship has digital-first releases for Adachi and Shimamura 6 and Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear 7. In print, they debut Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship!, and we also get the 4th volume of The Invincible Shovel.
Ghost Ship debuts Call Girl in Another World (Isekai demo Fuuzokujou Yatte Mita). A sex worker who works at a soapland suddenly finds herself in another world! In order to return, well, if you guessed “she has to be a sex worker in this fantasy world”, you’re on the nose. This is NOT the same as JK Haru Is a Sex Worker in Another World, FYI, and I suspect is far more interested in the sex. It runs in Houbunsha’s Comic Trail.
J-Novel Club, first of all, has all the print books I mentioned two weeks ago – they were delayed due to ongoing shipping issues from the Suez Canal blockage earlier in the year.
ASH: It’s been a rather chaotic time for the shipping industry. (And just about every other industry, for that matter.)
SEAN: Digitally, we see Cooking with Wild Game 13, The Master of Ragnarok and Blesser of Einherjar 16, Tearmoon Empire 5, and the 5th and final volume of The White Cat’s Revenge as Plotted from the Dragon King’s Lap. Tearmoon Empire is essential reading for shoujo light novel fans.
Kaiten Books has a lot of new print volumes for series that were previously digital. We get debuts for Gacha Girls Corps, UzaMaid: Our Maid Is Way Too Annoying!, and The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting.
They’ve also got the 2nd volume of The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting digitally.
Kodansha has a print debut that may seem a bit familiar: Battle Angel Alita is coming out with a new translation in paperback. This is the original version from 1990.
ASH: Interesting. I’d missed that this was going to be a new translation.
MELINDA: I guess I’m kind of interested.
SEAN: There’s also more Battle Angel Alita with the 7th volume of Mars Chronicle. And we get L*DK 16, the 14th and final volume of The Quintessential Quintuplets, Rent-a-Girlfriend 7, Sue and Tai-chan 3, To Your Eternity 14, and The Witch and the Beast 6.
ASH: To Your Eternity has my attention. (And probably the attention of even more people now that there’s an anime adaptation.)
MELINDA: Oh, hm. I may have to check it out.
SEAN: Digitally we get Saving Sweets for After-Hours (Sweets wa Teiji no Ato de). It’s from Kodansha’s Palcy, and stars a tall beauty who nevertheless has no romance in her life as men seem to want her to dominate them. Her fortunes change, however, when she meets a co-worker with a secret. This may appeal to Sweat and Soap fans.
Other E-Books: Blue Lock 5, Boss Wife 2, Cells at Work: Platelets! 3, the 4th and final volume of The Honey-blood Beauty & Her Vampire, I Guess I Became the Mother of the Great Demon King’s 10 Children in Another World 4, Kakafukaka 12 (also a final volume), Ran the Peerless Beauty 9, Undead Girl Murder Farce 2, We’re New at This 8, and Will It Be the World or Her? 7.
MICHELLE: I still need to get going on Blue Lock, but huzzah for more Ran the Peerless Beauty!
SEAN: One Peace has The New Gate 6.
Seven Seas has two debuts. The Dangers in My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) is an award-winning manga from Akita Shoten’s Manga Cross about the romance between a boy who pretends to be an edgy sociopath and the school beauty, who he longs for and who turns out to be a bit strange herself.
ASH: I am intrigued.
ANNA: Sounds like it might have potential.
MELINDA: Hm.
SEAN: The other debut is She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man (Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja), based on the light novel which Seven Seas has coming out in a month or so. A gamer is transported to the game world he loves… but not as the old, powerful wizard he played! He’s a cute girl instead. Can he get by pretending to be his own student?
We also get The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Jack Flash and the Faerie Case Files 3, Cutie and the Beast 3, and Otaku Elf 2.
Sol Press has Redefining the META at VRMMO Academy 4.
Tokyopop has a new BL one-shot, Chéri, My Destiny! (Cheri, Unmei no Hito!). This is from Kaiousha’s Gush, and is about a candy war that turns into passion.
Viz has two debuts. The first is a Jump series, so it’s odd to see it this late in the month. MASHLE: Magic & Muscles is about a world where everyone can use magic… except our hero. So he decides to bulk up instead. This has gotten pretty popular.
The other debut is long-awaited. No. 5, a Taiyo Matsumoto title from 2001 that ran in Shogakukan’s Ikki. Viz was putting it out at the time on their Ikki website, but when the various Ikki series didn’t sell great the site kinda floundered, and this was dropped. It’s back now, in Viz Signature edition. As for the plot, well, it’s Matsumoto doing After The Apocalypse.
ASH: I am so excited to see this being released! I’ve held onto my copies of the two volumes that previously made it into print but won’t hesitate to double-dip.
ANNA: Nice.
MELINDA: Oh!
SEAN: We also get BEASTARS 13, Children of the Whales 17, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku 9, and RWBY: Official Manga Anthology 5.
Yen On has High School DxD 4, the 5th and final volume of Last Round Arthurs, So I’m a Spider, So What? 12, and Unnamed Memory 3.
Yen Press’ debut is The Whole of Humanity Has Gone Yuri Except for Me (Watashi Igai Jinrui Zenin Yuri), a Kadokawa title from Shonen Ace about a “normal” girl who suddenly finds herself in a world where there are only women. Can she find her way back to her own world? And what is “normal” anyway? This is complete in one omnibus.
Yen Press also has Solo Leveling 2.
ASH: I’ve heard good things about Solo Leveling, I should maybe check it out before I get too far behind.
SEAN: Chunky week. Anything appealing?
MICHELLE: I’m too inundated with everything I’m far behind on to find anything that appealing, to be honest!
ANNA: Me too!!

The time has come to suggest your prompts for Iceberg Week 2021!
Hello everyone! As you know by now, Iceberg Week 2021 is set to take place on July 6-July 14 this year! While this gives us plenty of time to get ready, we still have to do some early planning! And now, it’s time to pick the prompts for this year!
Reminder from our second last post:
Last year’s prompts will be allowed as candidates for this year’s prompts.
The voting will proceed as usual, everyone submits simple theme prompts, and they will all be placed into a poll to be voted on.
This year we will be doing double prompts so as to allow for a little more variety and choice in the week. So instead of the top 7 prompts making it in like with last year, it will be the top 14 prompts, randomly paired up and assigned to the first 7 days (Day 8 is Free Choice Prompt Day) once voted on. You can choose one of the two that you prefer, or combine them, as you so wish.
Here are some rules for the prompt suggestion form:
Send as many as you like, whether it be multiple in one response or multiple responses! We want more options for people to choose from! But to make it easier for us to put them in the poll, separate the prompts with punctuation.
They must be short and simple. Preferably stuff like events (eg. "First Date", "Wedding", "Vacuo/Mistral Reunion"), activities ("eg. Shopping", "Henry Marigold encounter"), themes ("Trust", "Loyalty", "Respect", "Angst", "Loss"), Alternate Universes (eg. "Harry Potter AU", "Domestic AU", "Actor AU").
Try not to submit longer, more specifically worded prompts. Any that do will, if possible, be simplified in the voting poll (eg. something like "Neptune geeks out about his favorite series to Weiss" will be simplified to "Sharing favorite series").
While we will be accepting NSFW uses of themes in submissions for Iceberg Week (so long as they're tagged with appropriate content warnings), we will not be accepting prompts that are specifically NSFW. Stuff like "First Time" is acceptable (as "First Time" doesn't necessarily have to refer to sex) or "Bath"/"Shower"/"Bathing Together"/"Showering Together" (since that can be done in a non-explicit manner), but if it explicitly mentions sexual stuff it won't be allowed.
If you have any questions or confusion about what's appropriate or inappropriate to send or other Iceberg related stuff, feel free to ask us in the ask box on Tumblr (Do NOT ask questions through this form cause otherwise you won't be getting an answer back).
On that matter, also do NOT send prompts through the ask box, or you'll get a response telling you to send it in the form.
CLOSING DATE:
The poll will run for about one week, closing on around Sunday January 17 at approximately 12:00 AM PST.
HOWEVER, I may extend this date if there are very few responses/prompts in the form, and I will announce it if I make this decision.
Still, submit your prompts ASAP, I'd like this to go on for no longer than a month.
And with that being said...
Have fun everyone!

Iceberg Week 2021- Brief Pre-Event Interest Survey
Iceberg Week 2021 is coming soon (starts on June 6th and goes till June 13). However due to the lack of attention to promoting the event in the past couple of months, we would like to run this brief survey! If you could fill it out, that would be great!
Here is the link to the survey!

It’s time to vote on Iceberg Week 2021 prompts!
First of all, thank you all so much for your prompt suggestions! We got at least 50! So thank you all for your participation!
RULES:
Vote as many as you like!
Remember that we're doing double prompts this year to give you all more variety, so the top 14 highest voted will make it into this year's prompt list for Iceberg Week 2021 (taking place July 6-July 14), and will be randomly paired up and assigned to each of the first 7 days of the Iceberg Week (Day 8 is the Free choice prompt day)!
This poll will close on Sunday, January 24 at 12:00 PM PST, but we will extend the deadline if there aren't enough responses! Do still try to get your responses in ASAP though, so we can decide sooner!
If you have any questions or concerns, please ask us in our Tumblr ask box!
And without further ado, here is the poll! Happy voting!

ICEBERG WEEK UPDATE ANNOUNCEMENT!
Happy New Year everyone! 2021 is here, and it's time to get a move on with planning Iceberg week! I've made the decision to try and reserve the week of July 6-July 14 for Iceberg week., and I've already messaged the @rwbyshipweeks blog announcing it. Keep in mind this is not official yet, as I still have to hear back from them about it.
The prompt suggestion form will be open once the date is made official and we can focus on other aspects. I said in the last announcement that I would not allow last year's prompts in order to avoid repetitiveness, but I've now changed this decision. Last year's prompts will be allowed as candidates for this year's prompts.
The voting will proceed as usual, everyone submits simple theme prompts, and they will all be placed into a poll to be voted on. However there is a slight change. Instead of the top 7 prompts making it in, it will be the top 14 prompts.
This is because this year, we will be having double prompts. Meaning each day (excpet for Day 8, the Free Choice Prompt Day) will have two different prompts. You can choose one of the two that you prefer, or combine them, as you so wish. This allows for a little more variety in the week.
So the top 14 highest voted prompts will be chosen, and they will be randomly paired up and arranged into the week.
That's it for now! Good day and Happy New Year, and stay tuned for more announcements!

ANNOUNCEMENT!
2021 is coming, and this means new dates for the next year's ship weeks as well! So there are a couple of announcements I need to make! First, to avoid scheduling complications, I want to plan Iceberg Week 2021 early in advance (a few other shipweek blogs have planned their weeks already).
I'm thinking of hosting it a bit later from last year's May 24th-May 31st; instead of in late May, I want to try for early-mid June (June 7th-June 14th). I will be open to other suggestions as well. though I would prefer the week to be during a long break such as Winter break or Summer break so as to interfere less with others' school or work.
As for the prompts. As per last year, I will be asking for prompt suggestions that I will compile into a public poll, and the top 7 highest voted will be the prompts (day 8 will be a free choice prompt day). I will be opening up a prompt suggestion form where you can drop your ideas.
Last year's prompt suggestions must be different from this year's so as to avoid repetitiveness. I may make exceptions for one or two prompts from the previous list due to the lack of participation we had last year, but I would prefer a more variety in this coming year's prompts.
The prompts for last year:
Double Date
First Kiss
Swim Lessons
Reunion
Ballroom Dance
Henry Marigold Encounter
Finally, I'm also hoping to bring Iceberg Week to Twitter as well as Tumblr in the hopes of encouraging more participation, and I'll probably be hosting it on the Iceberg Appreciation page I run. Stay tuned!

Prompts may be completed in pretty much any form of art! This includes fan fiction, cosplay, photoshoots, manips/edits, etc! Whichever works best for you!
You may throw in other pairings into your works (especially on Day 1 where it’s kinda mandatory), but remember to keep it Iceberg-centric!
You do not have to complete every single prompt; do what you can and don’t force yourself to do something you have trouble with!
You do not have to complete each prompt in the same format. EG you can do one prompt as a drawing, another as a fanfiction, etc.
Late submissions will be accepted, though we prefer you submit each prompt on its designated day!
Most importantly: HAVE FUN!
