One of my favorite things about Rwby
Is this dynamic
Ruby Weiss and Blake all have world altering importance
And yangs just like a very determined older sister
Yang just wants her family all safe and happy and would happily die to ensure this
Yangs just like “this is my found family” and it’s like the most important people in the world
Not that this is at all new she’s just like surrounded by them her uncle is one of the best huntsmen alive despite being falling over drunk all the time considering he does all of ozpins missions personally and always by himself Ravens so good of a criminal she was on salems radar plus she’s MAGIC and can turn into a damn bird AND so yangs gif that in her I guess + the whole maiden thing summers super important somehow connected to salem as well ironwood who was the general for a WHILE was so close to qrow he might be her or rubys god father ozpin liked strq so much he gave two members magic so he might be a godfather too cause he seems to be really close to the family too
She’s like a magnet
And Yangs still just kinda there and she doesn’t consider any of these people like high and mighty or anything for being so important
She talks to ironwood super casually for the highest ranking military commander ever when he visits her after she becomes a criminal in v3 Qrows just her uncle when she speaks to Raven she’s totally ok with the idea of beating up her entire clan of criminals to get what she wants and then doesn’t respect a THING she says even after the reveal that MAGIC IS REAL and then when they Talk again after Raven joins salem, the bad guy and reveals she’s the MAIDEN which is super powerful yang insults her over and over with only one of her arms like she’s in no danger and then when she confronted ozpin/ Oscar about what Raven told her she gives him no special treatment for being a magical wizard that her entire family (minus Raven) trusts to make any decisions
Yang makes no exceptions no one is special yang would look the gods in the eyes and go “fuck off” and see nothing wrong with that

i am currently asking about the angel au, pop off my dude
Okay
So when I say it was reader led, I mean I created a world and a plot and changed my whole blog theme for a whole month. People sent in asks, and I would answer them as if I was the characters in the story. Through this, the audience slowly revealed the plot and the world
I posted art of all the major characters, drawn in the style of as if they are being surveilled by the Facility (the research place) in the case of people on the outside, or as case reports in the case of the test subjects
The basic idea was that the Brother gods had angels that would do their bidding on Remnant and be the go between for them and humanity. (The gods were more ambivalent in this version, but it doesn’t really come up) The angels also sort of act like the Greek gods do, occasionally inter mingling with humanity to create semi-deific offspring
When the gods leave Remnant and take magic with them, it sent a ripple across the world forever altering everyone who lives there. EVERYONE was combined at a fundamental level with animals, gaining many of their physical traits and instincts. MANY more traits than Faunus’ one. For example, Ruby is a wolf hybrid and she has the hindquarters, tail, ears, little snoot, and paw pads/claws on her fingers
The angels also left with the gods, but because they weren’t fully immortal they were sort of banished to another realm. A sort of in between dimension where they can observe but not directly interfere. The audience are actually these angels!
The real problem comes from the humans/angel half breeds
Centuries passed and the bloodlines become more and more diluted. Salem, who was a little girl at the time of the cataclysm, is now an old woman. (She’s a snake hybrid so her lifespan was greatly increased. She’s had to watch everyone she loves die)
Over the centuries she was able to accrue a large amount of wealth and influence, so she starts researching the gods. And when that falls apart, she starts researching the angels. Eventually she finds out that their descendants are still around, although it’s been so long that they haven’t had abilities or wings for centuries
She puts in more money, time, and research and eventually figures out how to identify the people with latent angel DNA. And how to bring their traits to the forefront
Ironwood becomes involved at this point, seeing the program as a good way to create soldiers. Salem is just using him, but he doesn’t really care. Their first test subjects are prisoners on death row, people who if they went missing nobody would care. Hundreds of prisoners die in the Facility from failed transformations. Tyrian is the first one to survive, and the process is perfected with Hazel
(By transformation I mean multiple wings, floating rings of eyes, maws of teeth and eyes, that sort of thing. The gods angels were FULL biblically accurate)
But they have their own opinions. They’re adults. They’re incredibly strong and useful, but Salem needs minds she can mold. So she starts “recruiting” children
Cinder, Roman, Neo, Mercury, and Emerald all less than willingly join their ranks. They’re all children when they’re kidnapped, and it’s been at least fifteen years for most of them by the time the plot actually starts
The final recruit is Jaune Arc, Salem’s own grandson. He’s the perfect candidate, her own family, trusting and with latent angel traits to boot. He vanishes from his home, has his memories wiped (the only one to do so since the others don’t have a home to remember) and joins their ranks
The plot begins when one of Ironwood’s other projects, Project Achilles aka star athlete Pyrrha Nikos, makes friends with Raphael.
Salem can’t call him Jaune in case his memories come back, and the scientists only refer to them all by case number. The other angels and other employees (Pyrrha, Pietro, Penny) call him Jaune
Salem doesn’t like that Raphael is getting close to someone else, because that means he might start thinking for himself. So she has Pyrrha killed. This makes Jaune lose it and have his mind wiped AGAIN, this time of all memories of Pyrrha
And this is the final straw for Pietro Polendina. Penny is caught in the crossfire and grievously injured. And when he’s sent to check on Jaune after he’s wiped, he doesn’t remember Pyrrha. So a break out happens, and Jaune Arc Test Subject Extraordinaire arrives on Ezra Ozpin’s porch
That’s where the plot begins at least. I can’t summarize all of it, and there’s a BUNCH of stuff I missed, but that’s the beginning. If you want to read it, you can either go through the faau tag, or go to the AO3 link below
And I’d love to hear your thoughts :]

Spoiler for my next RWBY fanfic project:
(We all know it's going to be Jaune so don't ask who's it supposed to be.)
Sorry if it seems long because I have to do some little world building (I lied. I have to create RWBY from scratch because the lore are non-sensical & made no sense.) Because I want to provide my reader better quality story telling.
Some changes I made is as follows:
- Grimm are stronger now. The heroes will have to work harder to even beat a beowulf. With a few special one able to gain self awareness and have some "slight" reality altering power. Think the witches from Madoka magica franchise.
- Of course with the Grimm getting stronger. So does the Huntsman. With someone like Qrow or pretty much any Huntsman older than the main cast no longer be a pushover.
- Rank System for the Huntsman.
- More (named) students at Beacon.
- Huntsman are treated like a Rock stars.
- There will not just be four relics but hundreds of them. Each with varying degrees of power. And most are monopolized by the state.
- Don't know what to do with the maidens though. Any suggestions?
- Grimm no longer feed on negative human emotion. Biggest reason for the removal is that it contradict the Faunus Racism subplot. And I don't know about you but I think racism is one heck of a negative emotion. (They still want people dead though)
- Faunus Racism subplot will be handled much better.
- Salem still can't be killed but she can be sealed. With her needing to be sealed every few decades or so.
- Grimm will appear less frequently and only starts appearing more and more when the seal around Salem starts to weaken.
- There will be a cult dedicated to bring back Salem and serves as the primary antagonist.
- Of course everybody favorite part of prequel trilogy. Politics. But it mostly be in the background until it isn't & the heroes are then forced to make a choice.
- There are other group beside the Huntsman fighting Grimms and they hate their guts.
- The event of Ice Queendom is mostly canon and even part of the Grimm Eclipse. Because I needed something to pad out the world building.
& there's more but I would like to keep some a secret for now.
And yes many character's story will be expanded or in a few case rewritten. Adam especially will be rewritten to better reflect the freedom fighter he supposed to represent. He's angry at the world but not an a-hole.
And that's about it I'm already halfway in and I will post the 5k fanfic soon as a form of early preview.

Quick note, I don't know the person who made these tweets or what the "THIS is what they do" is referencing, I'm only using this as a jumping off point to talk about what seems to be a pretty regular repeated opinion among people who hate rwby criticism and rwde posters.
First things first, it needs to be clarified that the "don't call it a rewrite or a fix-it fic, only call it a fan AU" is in my opinion very ridiculous and also fundamentally misunderstands the differences between AUs, rewrites, and fix-it fics.
Fix-it fic: These fics are made in an attempt to fix something the writer did not like in the original project. They write things in a way they think is better than the original, or they write a thing that they didn't do in the original but the fic writer thinks is better than what was in the official content. There are pretty high expectations on fix-it fics for good reason, as the writer obviously is setting out to fix things. So for instance if somebody makes a rwby fix-it fic, I kind of expect them to do things like improve queer rep in rwby or improve world building in rwby and so on.
Rewrite: The writer is fundamentally changing things from the original, but a rewrite is not automatically a fix-it fic because people aren't always trying to fix anything. A fix-it is always a rewrite, but a rewrite isn't always a fix-it. Because in a rewrite, the writer could just be doing things that they think are interesting concepts, for fun, and not out of a desire to improve the official content. There are still expectations on rewrites to follow at least some element of story with format and all that, but there's less pressure to *be better than the original* because that's not automatically a part of writing a rewrite.
AU: A term for 'alternate universe,' this just means that the fic is not going to follow canon, there might be alterations as big as all the characters going to a regular high school in our world in modern times, to an AU where Pyrrha lives instead of Jaune. All fix-its and rewrites are technically 'alternate universes,' but AUs are even more relaxed and for fun than rewrites. So they're even less bound by any sort of expectations. There doesn't have to be any sort of formatting or anything for just an AU. If someone writes a romance based AU where Yang gets partnered up with Pyrrha and the two of them start a relationship, there doesn't need to be any fall of beacon, quest for the Relics, Salem doesn't even need to ever come up...
Not properly tagging a fix-it fic as a fix-it fic because some RWBY fans get angry whenever someone they don't know dares to think they can improve on the story of a bunch of other people they don't know... Doesn't actually do anything helpful. The fact that people have this 'you have to show only the upmost respect to the RWBY writers!' Why? Especially when Miles Luna specifically has a history of misogyny, biphobia, and said the n word as a twenty six year old. Why should I or anyone else be required to 'respect' a man who slutshamed the character of Tifa Lockhart by derogatorily calling her a prostitute because of what she was wearing and then lied about it when he got called out? It's a ridiculous expectation that really reads as massive insecurity on the side of anti-rwde posters.
So before even getting into the pieces of advice in the messages here, I just want to say that most of them do not matter in a rewrite or an AU. "This is my AU where Roman lived after the Fall of Beacon" is not immoral or wrong in any way. "This is my RWBY rewrite where I explore the ships I like rather than only the canon ships" like bro, who the hell does that hurt? So on and so forth. AUs and rewrites are just fans exploring fun ideas they like, it doesn't mean they actually wish the thing they're writing actually happened. For instance, I have plans for a fix-it RWBY fic where I try to mostly stick to the choices made in the original content and just do it in a better way (because I don't feel obligated to consider Miles "video games for your girlfriend" Luna better than me and stay in my demure place where I couldn't possibly improve upon a hot mess of a thrown together show.) But I also wrote a long fun non-published AU fic with my sister where we did this whole redeeming Torchwick, Mercury, Emerald, and Neo thing. AUs and rewrites should not be held to strict rules everyone needs to follow about who they are and aren't allowed to like or redeem. That's just killing creativity in fandom spaces.
But, now to get into these rules in practice of writing an actual fix-it fic (which again should actually be called a fix-it fic,) because a lot of these suggestions are actually good ideas... But A. Not all of them are, and B. I would bet good money that even the ones that are phrased well are used to baselessly attack people who aren't even doing the thing, and C. The actual original content of RWBY itself goes against these rules, but the same people that would pick apart a fanfic actively get angry when people dare criticize rwby.
So let's get into it.
Try to focus on the female protagonists
This is great advice for fix-it fics, and something that often puts me off of fix-it fics I've seen when they don't do this. 'Fix-it fics' that make men the protagonists or spend a lot more time focused on the men in RWBY than the women in rwby, it carries the implication that the person writing the fix-it fics thinks the there should be less focus on the women in rwby. However, this will also result in some anti-rwde posters who will see fix-it fics that do put a lot of focus on the female protagonists and have them be the protagonists and expand on their character and role but then also do things like have a chapter focused on fleshing out the character of Oscar and the anti-rwde poster will flip their lid about it. Also, this
Do not have a straight white male shame them for their actions
I'm assuming this part is focused on characters like Ironwood (arguably not white considering he was based in appearance of his Asian voice actor,) Ozpin (because despite the fact that most of the Oz reincarnations aren't white, Ozpin was,) Qrow (granted, very white, but is also one of the most coded as queer main characters,) and probably Adam. However, this ignores a couple of things, which is that if people are keeping to canon characters, Qrow, Ozpin, and Ironwood have all at times been mentors in canon - and also Ooblek and Port. It is generally a good idea to be careful when you DO write the main RWBY characters to mess up and get scolded especially if they're being scolded by white men, but the idea that you can't make the canonical mentors ever tell the RWBY girls they might be wrong is a strange one. Also it's worth noting that if you try to make RWBY more diverse by making some of these 'straight white males' into queer men or people of color, people are probably just gonna be more angry at you and still forbid you from ever having them say anything against the main girls. Also it's worth noting that RWBY canonically specifically had a scene where the white old man Peter Port who sexualized Yang got to tell off Weiss for being spoiled and entitled. So like... Maybe that should be criticized.
Do not make a cis white male have more of a role than them.
This is basically the exact same thing as the first point, which we'll see again. This list of suggestions has a couple different repeats.
No straightwashing
Another actually good suggestion, for the exact same reason as point one. Yang and Blake should stay queer, it's a very good idea to keep Jaune's sisters in mind (and maybe increase their role,) and May Marigold should of course stay a trans woman (and maybe get her role increased too!) However, it's worth noting that a lot of people consider it 'straightwashing' to have the bisexual Blake or the 'has expressed attraction towards men in like episode three' Yang ever be in relationships with men, and that's not straightwashing. It's biphobia to call a wlm bi ship straightwashing.
And NO fanservice
Now, look, "fanservice" to me has certain connotations of objectifying women, so I one hundred percent get this suggestion and think people should be very careful to make very sure they're not drifting into objectifying in their fix-it fics. However, I know how this fandom can get in regards to even young women so much as writing the now currently nineteen year olds to make out, so just to clarify. Even if it might feel like it sometimes, not everything romantic or sexual regarding the rwby main protagonists is inherently objectifying. Again btw, I want to clarify I'm not defending any specific current fix-it fic, just reflecting.
Don't make evil men "morally gray"
And we've come to the 'this is definitely about Ironwood and Adam and possibly Ozpin" thing. Here's the thing: There are problems with how the RWBY writers handled all three of these characters, and it's not immoral for anyone to make a 'fix-it fic' where they explore any of these characters as not evil especially considering that RWBY is meant to be a hopeful story, so making less characters plain straight evil is a perfectly reasonable thing. It's also worth noting that the actual show of RWBY made Hazel get redeemed as if he wasn't evil and treated him as at least partially in the right, while not having him truly apologize for the heinous actions he's done.
Also keep bumbleby canon
For fix it fics, this is a good recommendation because you can fix any problems you have with bumbleby. But also it's fine to not think bumbleby specifically should've been canon (though it's something I think could've actually been done well,) and going with something else. So long as you do include good other queer representation in your fix-it, not going with bumbleby shouldn't be viewed as an automatically horrible thing. You can make a fix-it fic where you put Yang with Weiss and Blake with Ilia or something. It's very silly to act like Blake and Yang being together should be a necessity. Again, there should one hundred percent be other queer main characters in your fix-it fic if you decide not to go with bumbleby.
Don't have Jaune or Adam date anyone in Team RWBY
...This is also something I think is a generally good idea tbh, and I don't have much else to say about it. In fact, adding a romance element to Adam and Blake's relationship actively hurt the show imo. Having Jaune date a member of Team RWBY can be done, but generally speaking I do feel like people should just avoid that, especially if the character is Weiss. But again I should point out that in the actual show of RWBY, they've made Weiss openly attracted to Jaune in season 9 while they had aged Jaune up a good twenty years, so... Yeah.
Ruby is to be idealistic, and it shouldn't be a character flaw
This is an interesting one, because I mostly believe in this. Ruby's being idealistic is something about her character I actually enjoy, and I also think that in a good show her beliefs would be challenged, and she would come out of it stronger, still with her hopefulness and her ideals but also willing to be smarter and more careful. And in a good show, there would be good characters who might have a different outlook that isn't villainized. So while I don't think that Ruby's idealism should be treated like a flaw, I do think her beliefs should be challenged and not treated as the only good and moral thing (and something tells me the people that complain about fix-it fics might consider that the same thing as 'treating it like a flaw.')
Yang is not a party girl, not an alcoholic, and not a slacker
So, the alcoholic thing is so specific that it makes me think this was specifically directed at one fix-it fic. But as for the other two. On the note of 'Yang is not a slacker' I would argue that in the early episodes, she wasn't actually shown to care about her studies much, but that the early episodes kind of rush through 'team RWBY finding their footing,' so in rewrites giving Yang an early character flaw of being a slacker... What's the issue with that? I'm genuinely confused with that one. Is it not in her early character of being an energized, fun loving girl? I don't get it. Now for the party girl thing... I'm also confused about that, because - and correct me if I'm wrong - didn't Monty Oum make 'party girl' like part of Yang's early characterization? When he was concepting her? And there was a whole thing in volume 2 where Yang and Weiss are planning a party and she's like bringing in loudspeakers and wants a fog machine, should we not think that means that she likes to party? Her whole first appearance in the Yellow trailer was specifically set in a club to get across the vibes they wanted for Yang. Yang goes to a club in volume 7 and is specifically talking about dancing at the club and the loud music at the club. Also my sister found this for me from the back of a V1 DVD.
They literally call Yang a party girl themselves! Do people just think there's something immoral about clubs and party girls and therefore don't want Yang to be one? Because that doesn't sound good, it sounds judgmental.
Jaune is a side character
This is advice that is very much not in line with canon. Jaune is at the very least a deuteragonist in canon and is often very much so treated as a main character, sometimes out stripping some of the main girls in terms of lines or screentime in a volume. I do think that fix-it fics ought to either reduce his role or increase the roles of the main characters, again to give more focus to the title characters in Team RWBY. However, it's just ridiculous to me to complain about Jaune's prominence in RWBY fix-it fics because I'm just like... Look at the main show! Complain about how much importance is put on Jaune in the show!
Adam Taurus is irredeemably evil So is Torchwick
I am certain that this is about one specific fix-it fic that some anti-rwdes make it part of their core rwby beliefs to hate, because most people only actually put Torchwick in the same category as characters like Adam and Ironwood in the 'you're not allowed to like and/or redeem them' category when they're talking about one specific fix-it fic. XD But just because other people do not like these two doesn't mean it's ILLEGAL to like and/or redeem them! In my opinion, there is no such thing as a person who is completely irredeemable! And in a hopeful show, wanting to redeem villains - especially villains who have been horrifically branded in racist acts - is not a bad thing??? This is your reminder that these are not real people who actually did bad things in real life, they're fictional characters, they're tools to be used to tell stories. This is basically just the "don't make evil men 'morally gray'" thing again but like, extra specific. Yes, Adam and Torchwick in the canon of RWBY are horrible evil people. But they're fictional people, you shouldn't villainize people for wanting them to be better and writing them to be better in a fix-it fic of a show that's meant to be fundamentally about hope. There's nothing hopeful about 'some people are irredeemable,' but 'even bad people can change and get better' is a really hopeful sentiment.
Once again, none of these expectations should exist for just 'rewrites and AUs' and are only applicable to actual fix-it fics, and some of them are just so pointless. It's literally just enforced fandom rules, and fandom rules kill creativity imo, there shouldn't be characters that people are forbidden from redeeming or just shouldn't ever make morally gray, or ships that are absolutely required that must be done. Even in fix-it fics! One person shouldn't expect everyone else in the fandom to fit with what they or what the writers want. Yes, there are things that I think should generally be done in fix-it fics like focusing on the main girls and keeping to the general outline of what happens in the canon series, but some people act like fix-it fics should really just unquestioningly copy paste the original work and call it good, and that's ridiculous.
Two more things to note:
Sometimes when people are trying to make a fix-it project, it can snowball into more of a rewrite. If they decide to start inserting characters just because they like it, or branch off into random tangents just because they find it interesting, or so on. So even in fix-it fics I think there should be allowances made and people need to understand that not every single thing in even a fix-it fic is something that the writers sincerely think should've happened in the actual canon of RWBY. I can't tell you the amount of times my sister and I have sat down to make a fanfic (we never publish btw) that was supposed to be 'a fix it for volume six onwards' or 'a fix it of volume seven' or something and wound up completely spiraling into a separate thing, and then we wind up being like 'okay but we really should write an actual fix-it sometime.' If you're publishing while you write, or posting your fix-it online as you go, you can't just be like 'guess this sorta became more of a rewrite than a fix it lol' if your fic is already titled as a fix-it. So I'm just saying, it's worth it to expand a little understanding that sometimes people making fan projects for their own enjoyment aren't always going to be hypervigilant to not let a little bit of personal bias and personal enjoyment leak into their choices.
Next thing to note: We should be holding RWBY to a much higher standard than any fan project. RWBY is a product that people are trying to sell us that's making an actual company money, it's the actual product itself, with a team of writers and their job is quite literally to make the story of RWBY good. Fics and fan projects are things people do as a hobby, that they're not getting paid for and therefore aren't selling to anyone. It's wild to me that some people will let RWBY the actual show get away with anything and actively try to stop people from criticizing it and then go around reading fanfictions nobody made them read so they can insult the people that make them over every little perceived injustice. If you're going to get angry at a fanfiction writer for including a little too much Uncle Qrow in their fix-it fic, please ask yourself why Jaune is such a prominent character in RWBY the actual show and why it doesn't bother you then. If you're going to get angry that a fix-it fic writer has Ozpin criticize the main girl protagonists, please go back and rewatch Jaune as a forty-something year old scream in Ruby's face that she's responsible for all bad things while she's crying, and get just as angry at the show writers as you would get at a fan if they did the same thing in their fic.
Anyway, this post was super duper long, but.... I'm done with it now.
#rwde#On fix-its and rewrites and AUs#like guys seriously please leave fanfic writers alone#they're just trying to have some fun most of the time#I paused my baffy watching to write this post#for like several hours

it's the resistance to imagining any ending that does not simply replicate a system that is catastrophically failing right before our eyes and also would not have any reason to exist
I can't speak for everyone, but I think there's a strong aversion to discomfort present in this kind of mentality. There's a lot of lipservice to the notion of change and evolution and revolution, but a lot of fandom and people in general are VERY averse to anything, even storytelling, that doesn't ultimately result in something that they feel is comforting to their points of view or desires.
It's why people keep throwing fits about certain characters not doing things a certain way or according to certain archetypes. It's why certain plot points make people froth in the mouth or outright get it completely wrong.
They don't really seem to care all that much about story as a narrative or as a means to convey complex themes and messages that might be genuinely thought-provoking and uncomfortable, so much as they view stories as an extension of their own comfort zone, even at the expense of the story itself.
i mean. maybe. online culture is very inclined to treat discomfort as a Bad Thing that should be shunned (& in extremes, something people should be protected from feeling at any cost, which is part of what drives the pearl-clutching hays code 2! types).
but i think it's a lot more that:
fandom, being oriented around transformative engagement, is invested in the text primarily as a sandbox; the pervasive cultural attitude toward the text is that things you don't like can be discarded and the rest raided for spare parts. any space whose ethos is "fuck canon!" is going to disincentivize serious analysis of the text in favor of the creation of fanon—which is always homogenized and reduced to tropes because it's an accumulation of popular ideas, i.e. the organic crowdsourced cousin of corporate sanitization for mass appeal.
many fans do not differentiate clearly between canon and fanon to the point that there exists confusion between analysis (interpretation of the text) and headcanon (things held to be true irrespective of the text), which are in fact diametrically opposed and don't meaningfully overlap; consequently fanon is widely conflated with canon in addition to being prioritized.
fanon is shaped by cultural biases within the fandom which generally means "riddled with prejudice and stereotypes" and in rwby's case in particular means "sexist"—the story BEGINS with a fairly overt condemnation of the huntsmen system ("so you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called 'free' world, but take heed: there will be no victory in strength"), and at the end of the first act a character gives a speech laying out it in even clearer terms. i do not think it's coincidental that the fandom that twists itself into pretzels to interpret salem and cinder in the harshest possible light is also the fandom that absolutely refuses to consider the possibility that these two characters Have A Point about the huntsmen system, actually.
most stories do not radically alter the narrative status quo. (this is true even of revolutionary narratives—the unjust system present at the beginning of the story will be overturned, yes, but more often than not the characters recognize the injustice from the beginning and at most learn that it's worse than they thought.) most stories do not slowly and inexorably build up to "the heroes are good, but the villain is right, and everyone needs to pull together to fix what is broken" as the climactic resolution. i cannot emphasize enough how unusual rwby is in what it's doing with salem, and the build up has been gradual enough—stretched over literally a decade!—that for longtime fans in particular, it's easy to overlook. fanon fills in the gaps with tropes, the complete monster who cannot comprehend good, the tarnished mentor nevertheless trying his best to do the right thing, the plucky heroes who fulfill his ideals in earnest, and later developments are interpreted through the lens of fanon.
to an extent it's a feature, not a bug: tropes over text is just what fandom is. it's just a lot more noticeable with rwby because a) rwby is an unusual story that does not lend itself easily to fanonification, and b) "the huntsmen system is broken and will fail" is an idea introduced into the narrative by two female villains who have been wronged by that system and the man who built it, so naturally the fandom dismisses it out of hand.

I think one aspect I can't wrap my head around is just how boring the writing around Ozpin has been.
You have being older than pretty much entire civilization that has lived possibly hundreds (if not more) lives in completely different environments, locations and circumstances. There's no relationship or tie that can be "permanent" or "long-term" because can y'all imagine what passage of time looks like to someone that old?
Like, think of LOTR Elves. A "normal" elf lives few hundred years and a high elf can live a thousands of years and even then only really "die" by their own will of leaving the continent into literal afterlife. There are elves that refuse and might literally remain alive as "ghosts" till the end of universe itself. Even if your average Elf would last a few hundred years (and thus less than Ozpin) It fundamentally affects how they view the world, how they view death (and how much "an end" can be terrifying), as well as how they view other species and even basic daily events. An elf can say "see you latter" and not show up for DECADES because that's just how time works.
You have this ancient all-knowing presence that predates pretty much majority of the world and will likely outlive every single person he met, meets and would ever meet. Any single thing a person can do or say? He likely seen and heard it before. Turns and twists of history are merely reruns of what he already knows. He spent centuries being The Man Behind the Curtain and running things, manipulating people, making world-altering decisions. So what does the story do when it's time to do SOMETHING with him? The story just…makes him body-snatch(without explaining how ANY of that works because woooo can't have morally gray stuff) into a random kid that the characters then use as punching bag for no discernable reason other than so he can't be forced to spill the beans on what is going on.
And then it turns out that the character being this ageless being? Oh it doesn't matter, here's the ACTUAL important stuff - gods and then god that made gods! Who cares about Ozpin being OLD, who cares about Salem being OLD, who cares what happened and who cares what they want or what kinds of people they might be. Ozpin literally does not matter and Salem could be anyone at this point as long as that "Anyone" had the relic mcguffins. Why did the story feel the need to add gods and other nonsense when the writers can't do anything interesting with what they already have?
This single scene from RoP holds more attention, thought and characterization in terms of "someone being long-living" than entirety of Ozpin's presence so far in RWBY.
Just HOW do you make an ageless being that predates civilization and has lived for centuries if not thousands of years and has been pulling the strings behind countless generations BORING???

RWBY Inverted AU
==/ the Inverted /==
The exposure to the "gravity dust crystal event" had changed the residents of Mount Glenn, but the truth only began months later, to those who refused to give up on their home, and moved underground.
Somehow, the energy release by the massive gravity vein altered the internal gravity of those who had been exposed. Turning their world upside down. Instead of being pulled down, they were being repelled, and without something between them and the sky they would float/levitate away.
Many influential individuals in both Vale and Atlas know of the "Inverts", though direct and consistent contact has not been established. These individuals do include Headmaster Ozpin, General Ironwood, and Petro Polineda.
Salem is also aware of these unique individuals, do to her subterranean grimm occasionally running into them.

I'm probably kicking a hornets nest, but I do think villains in media should be allowed a chance for redemption more often. Yes, even the ones that kill. Thing is, while I do like to say media doesn't directly alter things in real life, certain portrayals of ideas and actions in media will often time reinforce fears or standards that most people hold. When you have disabilities, sexuality, gender presentation, or even just weird quirks played off as jokes in media, it often times comes off as a joke in real life. And it's the same thing for villains.
Some villains are best left as villains, those that are written with a character arc to continue getting worse, usually dwelling deeply on an ideal they hold that tends to make things worse that they actively choose. But most villains in media aren't like that. Villains in comics are usually made out of choices beyond their control. Bad luck, experiments gone wrong, thrown or tossed away by society and loved ones, created by others and thrown shunned when no longer needed. Some are created by abuse and neglect, some fall on hard times and don't have the right support to get themselves out of whatever hole they're in.
But its not just comics that use this. She-ra and RWBY have a mix of villains that are created from trauma and abuse, some that choose the path on their own, but most seeing it as their only option or the only thing they know. In Steven Universe, the main villains thoroughly see what they're doing as the only way. In ATLA and Korra, fear is a driving factor for a lot of the villains.
But the big thing a lot of people miss with all of these antagonists is that oftentimes, the only separation between them and the heroes are the circumstances that brought them there. Catra was abused by the same person Adora had been praised by. Entrapta was manipulated and lied to, abandoned by most but embraced by the villains for being different. Cinder and Neo were abused and neglected. Neo started acting out while Cinder was given a choice of life or death. Hazel ran on grief, Salem was punished by the gods for not being able to accept loss, Zuko was punished and thrown out by his father, Azula was neglected and treated as a monster by her mother... and of these villains listed, there's only two I can think of that most people didn't want to die.
But killing off a villain is a disservice to many stories and to how we see justice in real life. People make mistakes, are pushed into situations where getting better isn't easy, accidents can be life changing, and it's easy to shrug them off as never being able to change. The reason we need redemption arcs is so we have a narrative tool to see people getting better. To give a choice that many may not see. A well written redemption for a villain, tailored to the needs of the character in the story, can show us that viewing certain people as monsters or irredeemable is detrimental to how we pursue justice and order. And just like characters in a story, there is no one way to be a good person in real life. For some, it takes effort and rehabilitation, recovery and kindness, a second chance to try to do things differently.
But if all we do is kill off villains in stories, what does that say to all the accidental villains of life? If fictional characters can't be given a simple narrative tool to show things can change, then why give anyone chances in real life? If we're all judged and condemned by forces out of our control, then why try to be better. But seeing fictional characters being able to change, be given the narrative tool of redemption to change, that can make the difference to hear for someone who needs it.

If the user answers the question properly, the Phone Case will change shape and display the name of the user's main Partner Digimon name on the bar beside DigiTown. Its functions are the same as the canon but with extra like: - Channeling the emotional energy of the Chosen Child to their Partner Digimon - Regular smartphone features - Tracking positions of other Digivices - Storing an indefinite number of Digimon inside for ease of travel - Tracking the position, and time until the opening, of Digital Gates - Transporting humans and Digimon into alternate universes/raelos - Opening Digital Gates via computers, to enter the Digital World at will - The user can only materialize one Digimon at a time in the Human World - Displaying a compass that points the user toward where their partner Digimon is - Automatically healing the wounds of any Digimon stored inside the DigiTown App - Returning Digimon who were turned into other Digimon back to their original forms - Projecting a display that shows a live feed of what the Tamer's partner Digimon is seeing - Displaying a Digimon Analyzer profile of any Digimon whom the partner Digimon is currently seeing - Detecting and alerting the user to the presence of an unclaimed Digimental intended for them in the vicinity - Digimon who are stored inside the DigiTown App can speak through it to communicate with others outside it - Using the Digimental Up command to Armor Evolve a Child or Adult Digimon into an Armor Digimon, using a Digimental that is stored in the user's D-Terminal - Projecting a pseudo-Digital World dimensional field over the current area in the Real World that: Fully materializes any Digimon within, Protects the Real World and its inhabitants from the effects of any destruction that occurs within, and Prevents any Digimon within from escaping back into the Real World to cause havoc
Crest: Crest of Life
Digimon's Favorite(s)//Like(s): Chocolate and other sweets
Digimon's Least Favorite(s)//Dislike(s): Killing people or digimon
Digimon's Personality: Brimming with curiosity, he has a habit of trying to bite everything. Despite being mischievous, he obediently listens to what Takuma and the others say. His favorite food is chocolate, going as far as calling it "Champion". Gammamon's nature is more like that of a young child. He often uses descriptive words for food and mispronounces certain phrases such as "Trick and Treats" as "Turkey and Treatment". This aligns with his taking on the role of Takuma's younger brother. Despite his young demeanor, Gammamon can muster up the courage to confront challenges and think on the same level as his friends.

His Chakra Nature is Fire, Wind, and Lightning. His grandmother is a Uchiha, meaning Takuma inherits the Clan Kekkei Genkai, the Sharingan. His Mangekyo Sharingan and Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan abilities are similar to Sasuke's. His Sharingan looks like this.
Strong Suit: Strategist, Lock picking, Athletic, Info gathering, Medic, Sensor
Weapon Name: GN Exia; Crucible & Athenor
Weapon Description: - GN Exia: GN Exia was and still is his main weapon before Crucible & Athenor were made. A small forearm shield is attached to a beam rifle, onto which a large sword is mounted. The weapon can alternate between rifle mode and sword mode. A devastating weapon to be sure. Although its large blade requires some skill in balance and probably a lot of strength to wield. - Crucible & Athenor: As you can see in the picture, Crucible & Athenor is a Ballistic Multi Dust Katana. Takuma made them because he wanted his weapon lighter so he could move around easily without worrying too much about the size of GN Exia if he used it to fight on such a narrow battlefield. Crucible is the ballistic gun that is attached at the top of the sheath with normal and Dust bullets, with Ice Bullet can summon ice to make your opponent freeze in their track when hit, Fire Dust makes an explosion when they hit the target, and Lightning Dust makes shock their opponent. Athenor is a katana sword with Dust enhancement on the blade and handle, with the Air Dust you can create a Wind Blade if you swing your blade, Earth Dust makes you summon Earth Spike if you stab the blade of the katana on the ground, and with Gravity Dust you can manipulate your katana to float and pull it back to you if it gets separate from it.

Background:
"Hologram, a new technology. Soon after, paranormal phenomena frequently occur. Humans began to refer to them as... Hologram Ghost."
Takuma Caelum is the son of Michael Caelum former M.O.M. Agent and Sakie Caelum-Jinnouchi also a former M.O.M. Agent. It all started when a 4-year-old Takuma and his parent went back home from their vacation in their car until an accident happened in Tokyo at the Rainbow Bridge where two hologram-like monsters appeared out of nowhere fighting against each other, at first it was some kind of hologram show. Still, they were wrong when their attacks were somehow real.
The fight was intense to the point that the attacks hit some of the cars passing by, including the Caelum family car. Luckily, Takuma was able to get out of the car just in time but his parent sadly didn't make it Takuma, who still laid down 'cause of the injuries, watched as his parent burnt to death in a car crash. During their death, the hologram monsters are still fighting and Takuma still lays down on the ground injured until he is somehow in a different world he sees the place look run down and digitized, and the hologram monsters look more visible before he loses unconscious. When he woke up he found himself in a hospital bed and since then Takuma has been recovering in the hospital. After his parents' funeral, he had to move home to his relatives in America with the Nelson family and his uncle Wabisuke.
10 years later, now 14-year-old Takuma was about to go home from school with his friend Ryo Taminaga when Takuma was hit by a soccer ball to the face by Takuma's best friend Duman Wilde who accidentally kicked the ball too hard that it missed the goalie. After Duman apologizes to Takuma, Duman makes a comment about how Takuma reminds him of a protagonist due to the latter's characteristics that align with traditional heroic qualities, even though Takuma sees himself as nothing more but a side character, which is probably why he had joined his aunt's agency, the M.O.M. Agency that special on exploring various realms referred to as Reloes, as a medic & informant instead of joined with his cousins team, no matter how much his cousins and friends convince him.
When Takuma was about to walk home he looked at his smartphone and noticed an app called "DigiTown" that he didn't remember downloading nor heard about the app. He tried to delete it but when he did the app somehow came back on his screen multiple times, so he decided to leave it until he came back home to investigate. After he got home he went to his room turned on his computer and investigated anything about the mysterious app that suddenly appeared on your phone and somehow couldn't delete it until his phone started to make noise as it was to know the user that he had a new notification from his phone.
When Takuma checked his phone he was surprised that it was a message from his uncle Wabisuke Jinnouchi, who he had been missing for a year, what surprised him even more was that the app that he used to chat from the new app "DigiTown" instead of WhatsApp or Snapchat. At first, he was skeptical of this considering the app is already suspicious enough, especially since the name of the app sounds more like a Mobile Game app instead of a Chatting one, the last thing he needs is some kind of hacker to make this app that fills up with a bunch of viruses that let them hack his phone. But since the police and the M.O.M. agent don't have any leads on where his uncle is, he decides to press the app and see what happens.
When Takuma pressed the app, the next thing he knew, his room looked different as the place looked more run down and covered the floor with grass and some parts that looked like some kind of digital parts on it. When he looks out of the window he sees his neighborhood is the same as if he is in some kind of pseudo-world, he stops thinking when he hears something from his room look-a-like. As he turns back behind him, he sees some kind of small white baby-triceratops-head creature with a red tip on his horns.
Takuma was very surprised by the creature but also kind of cute, while the creature, who introduced himself as Gurimon, was very happy and excited to see Takuma. As Gurimon hops into Takuma's hands, the latter accidentally drops his phone as he tries to grab Gurimon and when the phone hits the floor it lights up as a hologram message showing his uncle. The rest is the same as the canon of Wabisuke explaining to his nephew about Digimon, the Digivice, and Gurimon until Takuma and Gurimon heard something, and when they followed the noise they saw two children who introduced themselves as Miyuki and Haru. When Takuma was about to ask them, they were interrupted by a familiar Digimon called Clockmon, one of the same Digimon that attacked on the Rainbow bridge. While Clockmon attacks them, Gurimon tries to protect his older brother until Takuma's phone starts to buzz, as he looks at his phone it reveals a question that says "Are you a Protagonist?" then it reveals a yes and no button below the question.
At first, he doesn't know how to answer this, he always thought of himself as nothing but a side character but that's probably because of the trauma of his parents' death on that day, the reason they went on that vacation is to celebrate his birthday so when he learns his parent dead on that incident he feels like it's his fault that they went to that vacation, but as if right now his new adopted brother is in trouble and needs to help him and if being a protagonist means that he will help him and the people that he cares about then he will become a protagonist as he press the yes button. Then his smartphone started to glow, and the phone's chassis changed color and shape into a Digivice Smartphone, or D-SP for short. It was not just his phone that glowed and but also Gurimon as he Digivolve into Gammamon; because of it, he defeated Clockmon.
After that fiasco, he finds out that Duman and Ryo have a partner Digimon as well, and gets to meet Lucia and Eiko have a partner Digimon, and a Digivice as well, they also meet Professor who used to study with Takema's uncle, who wants to learn more about Digimon and their world, then they decide to make a group called the Cyber Sleuths so they can help people with Hologram Ghost/Digimon. Then the rest is the same as the canon of the Digimon Ghost Game, the only difference is that the Nelson siblings and Britney, Michelle, and Cole somehow got involved with the Digimon and got their own partner Digimon. As I said before, still the same as the Ghost Game canon until the part where more of Digimon came to the Human World and somehow the Digimon lost their connection to the Digital World.
When the Cyber Sleuths tried to figure out why Takuma's phone suddenly got a message and when he saw what was on the screen, he was surprised that he got a bunch of free airplane tickets to Nagano Prefecture in Japan. The Cyber Sleuths saw this and were pretty surprised as well when they called the people at the Airport they said that it was ordered by a man named Wabisuke Jinnouchi and told to send the tickets to his nephew so he and his cousins could go and invite their friends to visit their grandmother, Sakae Jinnouchi, who lives outskirts of Ueda City.
After they made it to Jinnouchi House, they learned that their grandmother and their grandfather were former agents of M.O.M but also Tokue used to be from a different Raleo where ninja is pretty much the norm and have this stuff called Chakra for them to cast Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu (her Raleo is pretty much Naruto Universe) before she met Sakae and moved with him and get married, which also explain why Takuma has Chakra.
They also learn that Wabisuke also has a partner Digimon called Gazimon. They met when Wabisuke was younger, he was having a hard time adjusting to living his new life with the Jinnouchi family feeling like an outcast but ever since he met Gazimon things changed and he felt like he was accepted into the family, Wabisuke decided to become a M.O.M. agent so he could learn more about other raelos, especially the Digital World.
When the Grandmother finished the story, a portal to the Digital World opened out of nowhere what came out of the portal surprised Takuma and the Nelson Siblings, or in this case who came out of the portal, and those persons were Wabisuke and his partner Digimon Gazimon. Turns out, Wabisuke and Gazimon were trying to make a Digital Portal through the computer but were having a hard time until the screen of his Digivice started to glow and envelop both him and Gazimon, the next thing he knew, he and his partner Digimon are in the Digital World and since then both partners are traveling the home of Digital Monster.
Wabisuke and Gazimon returned to the Human World thanks to the help of a friend from the other side, who would explain to the Cyber Sleuths what was going on in the Digital World. The Cyber Sleuths were confused at first but they, Miyuki, Haru, and the Professor started preparing anyway to head to the Digital World, Wabisuke would loved to stay with his family a little bit longer but he still had some unfinished business there, but Sakae understood the situation and let her son go back to help the kids.
When the Cyber Sleuths arrived at the Digital World, they were greeted with a room that looked like a throne and a humanoid girl Digimon named Quantumon, a temporary leader of the Digital World while Yggdrasil was holding off the treat. Quantumon and Wabisuke explain to the Team what is going on by showing the murals that Wabisuke discovered before he was sent to the Digital World, it all started a long time ago, during the Kamakura period, before they were called Digimon before the Digimon and their world were adapted by the human-computer data, vaccine, and virus, they were known as the Kemonogami and the two worlds were combined with Kemonogami and Humans being the same entity with them sharing the same soul.
It was peaceful until five children were offered up to the Kemonogami by a woman named, Yukiha Minase, in an attempt to gain their powers with Yukiha offering up her own brother, Haruchika, as one of the sacrifices. Upon getting to the alternate world, aka the Digital World, Haruchika ended up becoming partners with Fanglongmon whilst the other four became partners with the Four Sovereign Monsters. However, Haruchika becomes obsessed with power, which causes the Kemonogami to turn savage. He wanted to use their powers to return to the human world and kill his sister, the entire Minase clan, and then destroy the entire human world in revenge for being sacrificed. His rage and thirst for revenge caused Fanglongmon to become Master, who Haruchika tells to destroy the world. To give him more power, Haruchika tells Master to absorb him, which he does. The other four are almost able to defeat them but at the last second end up being unable to actually kill their friend. To help save the world, the Four Sovereign Monsters use their powers to seal Master off in four different directions with them unable to leave the shrines.
This can last hundreds of years, though recently the Four Sovereign Monster powers have weakened making some of Master's power leak enough to make a new type of lifeform called the Kenzoku and has been causing havoc to the Digital World, that is why there are so many Digimon came to the Human World, it was an evacuation so the Digimon could be save from the Master and Kenzoku threat.
After Quantumon and Wabisuke explain to the Cyber Sleuths everything, they are shocked by what they learn so when they ask them how to beat Master, they are attacked by the Kenzoku. The Team fought back against the Kenzoku but before they knew it, the enemy kidnapped Miyuki away and retreated, after the battle Haru was mad and upset at the Team, but more at the Professor, for not doing anything more to protect Miyuki, so he ran off to try to save Miyuki himself, and disappeared before Takuma and the others tried to stop Haru.
When they couldn't find Haru anywhere, they regrouped and planned a way to save Miyuki and defeat Master, that is when Quantumon suggested finding the Sovereign Monsters and giving them their blessing to give them their powers. They could only be found in the shrine each respective in West, North, East, and South just like the Japanese myth of the Four Guardian Spirits of Kyoto. And just like that, everything went the same as in Digimon Survive Truthful Route, and since people know about Digimon and more Digimon will be coming to the Human World, Takuma decided that he wanted to become a diplomat to the Digital World to make sure that it went peaceful for both Digimon and Human.
As for THOR: Digital Alter, let's just say the Dark Masters aren't what they seem to be. Piedmon, Puppetmon, MetalSeadramon, and Machinedramon are partner Digimon to Takuma's friends: Joker Ark, Masaru Saiga, Aoi Asahina, and Kazuichi Soda. But apparently, they were kidnapped and brainwashed by the mastermind from another Raelo so they could control Piedmon and the others to rule the other Digital World from a different Raelo, so Takuma, Gammamon, and the Main Team of Cyber Sleuths decide to follow the mastermind to rescue the Digimon Quatret themselves.
When they arrived, they came to a Digital World yet different from theirs, when they traveled they met Gennai who is like Quantumon a helper for the Chosen Children. Apparently, he knows that the Main Team isn't from this world or in this case this version of raelos, as Gennai led them to his base the Main Team explained to him what happened and why they were in this Raelo version of his Digital World. Gennai was pretty surprised to hear this, especially to his ally who overheard them, Gennai and his ally expected that the Dark Masters that they were fought and sealed away were nothing but innocent Digimon who were forced to commit such crimes.
Gennai explained to the Main Team what happened to their fate which really upset them but only temporarily as the seal wouldn't hold them much longer, Gennai and his ally have been waiting for the eleven Chosen Children who wield the crest can lead them to victory and maybe able to help the Main Team to save their friends, so the Main Team of Cyber Sleuths decide to help Gennai and his ally to stop the mastermind. The story will be the same as in the canon, the only difference is that Takuma and Gammamon decide to help the DigiDestined when they come to the Digital World while the rest of the Main Team helps the ally.
The story went the same in the story until the Eleventh crest which is supposed to be the Crest of Life "As the Guardian of Life, the White Dragonoid senses the voice crying for help or malice, even from far away, will descend like a comet and bring down the enemy." turns out to be Takuma when the Digidestined fought an enemy but despite the others suggest to kill them, Takuma and Gammamon couldn't do it despite what they do are wrong, life is still a life and the Digimon were being forced to fight because the Digimon family were used them as a hostage which they can't blame, Takuma and Gammamon will protect all life no matter what it takes, which the Crest of Life has chose them to be their wielder. Everything went the same as in the story, just adding the Main Team until the Dark Masters Arc. I mean they all are just the same, just instead of killing the Dark Masters the Crest and Digivice glow and break the Dark Masters's brainwash reverting them back to their rookie level.
Again everything went the same in the canon just add the Main Team in it. After the whole Diaboromon War Game fiasco and getting their Digimental Egg but before Oren, Terriermon, and Lopmon join the group, Duman collapses with a sudden illness, nobody knows what's wrong with him, and not even Gennai or Ozpin knows as well, they only know is that it's something to do with his magic. That is until Loogamon has an idea, that maybe they should go and ask Duman's older brothers apparently they wield the same type of magic as Duman, the problem is that Duman is from the Cyber Sleuths Raelo but a different one, he was separately from his Raelo somehow and ended up to Takuma and the other. No one knows how to get there but Takuma is not giving up on Duman so he and his team go back to his Raelo while the other DigiDestined stayed at Remnant to continue their mission.
When the Main Team arrived at their Raelo, they were greeted by the rest of Team Cyber Sleuths in the M.O.M. Agency the Digimon quartet reunited with their human partner and they were about to celebrate their return but that would have to wait as Duman was sick, and in need of help. So when they were able to locate which Raelo Duman was from, they activated the portal and the Cyber Sleuths went on to another adventure like the old time sake, except for the part where Duman is sick. After they arrived at Duman's Raelo, they had magic and wizard stuff, but not the part where fairies exist in the modern era and where there is a whole lot of planet where other magic and fairies exist, and where there is a boarding school specifically for fairy only.
The Cyber Sleuths decide to go to this boarding fairy school where they think they might help with Duman, not knowing someone is watching them especially Duman. When they arrived at the boarding school "Alfea", they were already kinda of expecting this, A bunch of girls, who they call themself Winx, saw them, then the next thing they knew they started to transform into their fairy form and attacked which they defended themselves of course, the fairy was soon stopped by the principal of Alfea, Miss Faragonda, to stand down. Faragonda apologized to the Cyber Sleuths and asked them about the unexpected visit, and Takuma and the other told her everything hoping that she could help their friend.
When Faragonda checks on Duman she can sense some kind of beast inside of him, that has been absorbing his magic since. Faragonda asked when the symptoms showed, which was almost a month ago but Duman said he was fine but then again that was his way of not worried about him. Before they could ask her more they heard something outside and when they were outside they saw three men in black clothing floating outside, they introduced themselves as the Wizards of the Black Circle and were here to take back what was theirs.
Basically deja vu, the Wizards fought Cyber Sleuths and the Winx, and the next thing they know Duman was kidnapped by the Wizards as they teleported away. After the fight, Faragonda explains the Cyber Sleuths of the Wizards of the Black Circle, they are a group of organizations and their goal is to capture all Earth Fairies and still use their magic to rule the world, which by the way it was pretty cliche. But that makes Shiloh think, why do the Wizards want Duman, he's not even a fairy considering most of the fairy population are female and his magic is mostly on shapeshifting into different animals, and that's where they're wrong shapeshifting can transform the user into any human and being, be it from the myth or story.
The rest of the story is something similar to Season 4 of Winx Club, except for the fact that Duman has been held captive but was able to escape thanks to Loogamon who is still inside his phone and somehow ends up at Gardenia and meets with Roxy and have a crush on each other.
Again the rest are still the same with the Cyber Sleuths reuniting with Duman and Loogamon, until the Earth Fairies declare revenge upon the humans and the Black Circle, and the true leader of the Black Circle, Yllidith reveals himself and shows everyone of Duman's origin. Apparently, Duman is the son of a powerful wizard and an Earth Fairy, as well as the younger brother of Oregon, Gantlos, and Anagan, but sadly the parents died as the Earth Fairies kill them for the White Circle cause the parents are the guardian of it and they refuse to give the Earth Fairies the ring for the sake of vengeance against the Black Circle and during those fight between the parents and the Earth Fairies cause a portal to appear and suck Duman into it when he was a baby leaving him in front of his foster family house, while his three older brothers were taking in by the Wizards of the Black Circle as they want to pay for the Earth Fairies for what they did to their parents and their baby brother.
This revelation surprised the Cyber and the Winx especially Duman, no wonder Oregan and his brothers look relieved when they see him awake from his fever. Duman thoughts were broken as Yllidith appeared in front of him and knocked him out then ordered the rest of the Black Circle to retreat to their base. After the whole fiasco, the group returned to Alfea to recover and discuss their plan of action on stopping the Earth Fairies, and the Black Circle, and rescue Duman at the same time.
Meanwhile, at the Black Circle base, Yllidith laid Duman, who is still unconscious, in the middle of a circle drawing as he prepared a ritual to summon an elder dragon called Oltura. This revelation shocked Oregon and his brothers cause Oltura is known to have the power to upset the balance of the world and cause great disaster and calamity throughout its life cycle. They asked their leader what plan he was making with such a dangerous creature, Yllidith explained that he wanted to tame the elder dragon, which they thought its impossible considering that an elder dragon, like Oltura, cannot be tamed, that is why that Yllidith use Duman and his magic to tamed. This confused the brothers as to why use Duman instead of Roxy considering she is the Animal Fairy and she can talk and control animals besides isn't Duman magic just shapeshifting, Yllidith explained to them that Duman's magic is more than a shapeshifter, he can seal any creature's body part they have touched into their body and gaining the ability to subsequently transform their body into that of the creature and their powers.
The shocked expression is pretty understandable for the brothers considering that their little brother had that kind of magic, but what shocked them even more was that there was a chance that the ritual could permanently turn him into a beast including his mind becoming more of a beast instead of human, which irked the brothers because they don't want Duman to be a giant dragon forever, so they rebelled against Yllidith and tried to save their brother.
The rest is pretty much what you think, the Earth Fairies started their war against the rest of the members of the Black Circle, The Wizard Brothers are fighting other members of the Circle as Yllidith finishes the ritual Duman turns into Oltura, The Cyber Winx allied with the Wizard Brothers to stop the Earth Fairies, Yllidith, and the Oltura. In the end, they were able to beat them as the Earth Fairies gave up their revenge, Yllidith was sealed away in the Omega Dimension, and Duman was able to return to normal thanks to Roxy. As the Cyber Sleuths were about to come back to their Raelo, they said goodbye to the Winx and the Wizards, especially Duman as he and Loogamon decided to stay in Gardenia to spend more time with friends and family there.
When the group is back to their own Raelo, the Cyber have their own goodbyes as Takuma and Gammamon decide to go back to Remnant to help the DigiDestined with their mission, and when they did apparently just like the Digital World the time is quite different between the Raelos as they were only gone for a few weeks in Remnant as Takuma and Gammamon have been gone for a month as they reunite with the team.
I don't know if swift56 is still letting BlackWarGreymon X die but I really love BlackWarGreymon in Adventure 02 and this is my AU, I let him live. As BlackWarGreymon X is dying, both he and Takuma's Digivice glow brightly as the Dark Tower Digimon instead perish he turns into a DigiEgg and is reborn as a real Digimon. The rest are still the same as the story and as it is still ongoing I leave it here for now if there is something I want to change.
Extra:
Theme Song(s): Be the Winners, X-Treme Fight, & Break the Chains by Takayoshi Tanimoto; Kizuna by Nana Tanimura
Voice Actor(s): Kōhei Amasaki (JPN); Sam Luff (ENG)
Trivia//Extra Information: - He is pretty much Eiko's Koumei/Strategist. - He is known to be the best Informant in the M.O.M. Agency. - Duman is pretty much Takuma's rival/the brooding boy in this AU. - He will lose focus if one of his friends/family almost gets killed and gets a mini-panic attack. - Instead of Judah who plays the lead in chess in the first and second "Human Chess In Real Life" it's Takuma. - His personality is the same as Takuma Momozuka from Digimon Survive in Moral Route including his voice actor.
Quote(s): - "Digimental Up!" - "No, I won't kill you. But I'll probably cry." - "You don't die for your friends, you live for them." - "It's true, that they are bad humans... but they are also bad Digimon." - "Ugh! Well, at least I've got you now! We'll always be together..." - "We'll do whatever it takes to win. If we don't win, we won't live to see tomorrow!" - "That's right! It's me... It's your partner, Takuma. No more than that, your brother." "Life is precious, be sure to spend it with the people you hold dear to your heart." - "You must live life as long as you are still strong. Never look at your life as something insignificant." - "It doesn't matter if they're Human, Digimon, or Fairy and Wizards. We gotta look at their hearts and decide. That's how we move forward, right?" - "My friends are alive right now!! The Digimons are alive too!! Whether they've got Magic, human or not, the important thing is that they're alive! These are lives dammit!" - "Even if you make a mistake, you can fix it. Making mistakes, fixing them, and moving forward. That's what it takes to be human... as well as Digimon. Haven't you given up on their possibilities?" "It's because you're looking down… From up… Top… That you don't get it. Whether we're human or Digimon… we're still alive, aren't we? We can be friends, or parent and child… But our strength won't ever change!"
Notes:
This was inspired by THOR Alter: Digital Story by swift56; The Spell by cocacola8306; Tigers and Truces & Amazon and Allies by Calissa Rowan; Even If It Was You by TheCarmineWanker; Rebel Fairies and Rouge Wizards by WildeChild17
Welp, that was fun making it. it's been a while since I made another oc, especially about Digimon, this was inspired by the story listed above. I got this idea when I bought the Digimon Survive game while watching Shiloh and Bros on YouTube and the Digimon Ghost Game because of how much Survive reminds me of Ghost Game, I've also been watching my childhood cartoon called Winx Club and boy does that bring back memories especially season 4 where my favorite antagonist group The Wizards of the Black Circle, especially Duman who is my favorite among those group, and since then I've been thinking what would be like to have if my oc, Duman, Shiloh and Bros, and a few favorite characters I would love to add have a Digimon Partner and got involved on a Journey that is a mixture of Digimon Ghost Game and Survive and so here it is.
I don't know what to call the name of this season title, so I just called it "Digimon: Ghost Survive" Pretty stupid title huh? Anyway, as you can see in the background pretty much the story is a combination of Ghost Game and Survive, at the beginning the story mostly from the Ghost Game but almost the end when more Digimon come to the Human World and they lose connection to the Digital World is where the Survive elements came in when Takuma's uncle, Wabisuke who like Hiro's dad went missing came back with his Digimon Partner, Dracumon, from the Digital World thanks to Quantumon and explain to them about Miyuki, The Master/Haruchika, and everything.
Because you have to admit, the ending of Digimon Ghost Game kinda sucks because I was hoping the final boss wasn't Gammamon dark side, heck I was hoping for it to fight with Hiro and his team in the final battle against the big bad boss like the last of the Digimon series, so yeah I was really disappointed so I replace the dark side Gammamon situation with the Kenzoku and The Master/Haruchika situation. After that fiasco with Haruchika, it was time for season 2 and that is THOR Alter and well y'know the story from above. They're pretty much the 02 for Digimon Ghost Survive.
I was having a hard time when it came to choosing a Digivice, considering that Digimon Survive doesn't have one and I don't know how should I feel about Digivice V and VV since it's pretty much a watch, I prefer the Digivice handheld instead, but in the end, I decided to choose the Smartphone Digivice which debut in DA: LEK and DA02: TB it reminds me of my favorite mobile game Digimon: ReArise, too bad it was shut down I was so close on digivolving Herissmon into his Mega form and it was a fun game. I even added some functions from D-3, D-Arcs, and Xros Loader because I love some of those functions on the list including storing multiple Digimons that you can recruit like in Digimon Survive and the Persona series.
I also going to make a list of Team Cyber Sleuths, sorry I don't have names other than this for their team names, and their Digimon Partners and their evolution are like. Here is the Link if you want to see it, and when you do see it, on the template the age would be the beginning of Ghost Survive, the Nelson sibling ages are a bit different consider them like de-aging since Digimon destined/tamer are mostly kids teenagers, but hey that's the best part of AU! You can literally make something up! Lots of stuff can be different, changing the characters, and plots to be discovered. I hope you guys like it!

tyrian, watts or hazel? (take ur pick)
Tyrian
.Gains a second Allusion in the smiling man urban legend
.Used to be the excessively brutal leader of the first Ace Ops team before he betrayed them and left Elm and Clover the only survivors
.Quickly rose up the ranks of Salem's dark kingdom and became their very eccentric religious leader preaching about how "The old pathetic gods will fall to our Queens perfection!" and "This world and the non-believers will be cast into the inferno as a true utopia rises from the ashes!"
.The Queen's Servants can detach from his wrists and have extendable handles that let's him use them as staffs and his aura disruption is replaced with chemical alteration, allowing him to change his venom or other body fluids to any chemical concoction he desires while becoming immune to it's effects
Hazel
.Gretchen was both the spring maiden and an attempted whistle blower on Oz's lies, Ozpin had her executed and got the courts to rule it as a suicide, Hazel seeked out Salem for answers
.Gains a second illusion in the wolf man Larry Talbot, he is also now a wolf Faunus with large fangs
.Refuses to harm most of the main cast more then necessary, legitimately thinks he's sparing Oscar a worse fate by killing her
.Instead of screaming when he gets mad, he becomes very quiet and serious when enraged
.Was trailing team RWBY when they activated the relic of knowledge and also sees the old world as well, it's nothing didn't already know
.Is the main antagonist of volume 6 sense I'd gut most of the canon volume 6 anyway
.Is borderline training the heroes when he fights them, especially Ruby
.Is SO proud when Ruby makes her announcement
.His semblance numbing agent is replaced with material absorption that let's him coat himself with materials like metal, wood or raw dust he can more easily control
.I'm kinda mixed on if I want him to still die in volume 8, right now I'd say yes to him dying but I'm not 100% on that
god I'm getting so temped to make him Ruby's bio dad but I'm not gonna

Heroic Sprits
Who would be a heroic spirit in RWBY and how would they present themselves?
The first thing that pops to mind is the Rusted Knight, Jaune Arc. He’s literally a famous hero from a fairy tale, perfect Heroic Spirit material. He’d obviously take the form of his older self in the Ever After.
Pyrrha would probably be one as well. Her fame of being an invincible fighter would earn her enough renown to be historical and her tragic death was used to memorialize the Fall of Beacon, almost certainly cementing her place in Remnant’s history and earning herself a place in the Throne of Heroes. I bet that Pyrrha would either appear the same as she did before she died, or with small ‘fixes’ or alterations that would exist from how she’s displayed by agents, advertisers, and media.
Blake would probably also become a heroic spirit, at least from her appearance in Volume 5 leading the people of Menagerie to stop the White Fang and save Mistral. Her legacy would become further solidified during the events of Volumes 7 and 8, when they help the people of Mantle and fight the leaders of Atlas. I imagine Blake would be presented as her Volume 5 self, being her most publicly recognized image (by Menagerie and Mistral at least), but with all the memories and skill from the rest of her life.
Penny would totally be in the Throne of Heroes too. There’s no way the great defender of Mantle and the tragedies of both the Fall of Beacon and fall of Atlas won’t have some place in the history books and folk tales.
Would Ruby be on the Throne too yet? I don’t doubt that she will be by the end of the story, but for now her only publicly known acts of heroism are using the CCT to let everyone know about Salem, getting an arrest warrant from Atlas, and competed in the Vytal tournament. Yeah, she single handedly stopped Torchwick during the Fall of Beacon, froze a Grimm Leviathan, and did tons of other incredible things, but they were either not public or under such circumstances to where people probably don’t hear much about it. So Im not sure if she’d end up on the Throne… yet!
Who else would be a Heroic Spirit? idk I just work here

I like that by altering RWBY to such a degree in Vantage, you've made it into a sorta fix-it fic. Though Salem is definitely a major problem, especially if she finds out about other worlds.
Well, I couldn't have [redacted] going over to visit Remnant only to find it in the middle of a Grimm apocalypse.
...okay, I could, but that's not what I'm going for haha.

Watts' Intro.
I've been asked to make a intro all day today, so I suppose I'll finally make one. My name is Watts, odviously. I'm an alter of Arthur Watts from RWBY, but that's quite odvious as well, based on the image. I'm an academic alter, and may be the only reason we even have remotely passing grades in school.
As for Sourcemates, I dont care who interacts from my source. I may be a bit standoffish towards Salem and James alters, but I don't care if they interact.
I'm one of, I'd say, maybe four alters that have been here the longest, other than our ex host and next to Ozpin, Maron, and Harley, so I take pride in knowing I'm quite knowledgeable about our system and headspace.

I know r/RWBY subreddit has stupid rules, but I didn't think they'd go as far as to be hypocrites as well.
This happened to me not too long ago when I posted the clip of Ruby walking through the woods. I posted it to r/RWBY because I like the volume and wanted to talk about it with other RWBY fans. We had a pleasant time in the comments talking about it.
For the record, my post did have text accompanying it, talking about the scene in question.
However, the mods decided to remove it because of the rule above.
But then, I see this on their subreddit:
The image of Cinder and Salem is not altered or has text layered on it, it's just the raw screenshot. But this is fine?
I have a sneaking suspicion that it was because another RWBY was speaking highly of Team RNJR on my post and didn't like how WBY behaved in V9. Light criticisms that could've prompted removal. They probably know who I am as well, which would be funny since Canonseeker made a huge stink about me not too long ago either.
Oh well, I'm not surprised. It's the same subreddit that removes memes, so no fun is allowed.
