Halloween 2024: Dinocuties

I couldn't think of anything else to do for Carstober, so I decided to do something fun with Sheriff and Doc.

I headcanon that this actually happened during a Dinoco-Rusteeze sponsored charity event somewhere. Doc came up with the idea, Sheriff offered to help, and everyone else in town was in on it...except for Lightning. Doc loved practical jokes: the more elaborate the better. And to really make their performance authentic, he reached out to Tex and asked if he and Sheriff could practice with the Dinoco Girls to learn their routines. Tex loved the idea.

So, jump ahead three months to the event. The entire time lightning is handing out awards, asking for donations, and doing photo ops, Sheriff and Doc were blowing kisses and shaking their rear ends behind him with the girls. When it was Doc's turn to hand out an award, he just rolled up to the microphone as he was, glitter and all. The look on Lightning's face was worth it, a million times over. Sally has this picture and the picture of Lightning's reaction framed on her desk at the Cozy Cone.

I...um...also headcanon that Doc and Sheriff hooked up later that night while still wearing the costumes. Mmmyep.

Also, random art note. The tiaras look like they were just clipped from a photo...but they weren't. I hand detailed all the glittery bits and whatnot. I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of digital art, though I still prefer traditional.

“satoru have you seen my-” your words die in your mouth when you see what your lover is wearing.

he’s sporting an red f1 uniform, with the letters ‘RUSTEEZE’ sprawled across his chest, various logos across his chest and down his biceps.

“lightning McQueen is so hot” you mumble, staring at satoru while he grins at you, his arms extended as he fixes his sleeves. “what happened to going as a couple?” you laughed, continuing to shamelessly check him out as he turned to walk to his closet.

“i got you a sally one!” he beamed, pulling out a baby blue outfit, urging you to try it on.

you’re practically pushed into the restroom, a smile on your face as you slip the costume on, laughing to yourself as you look in the mirror. it didn’t look that bad actually.

when you walk out of the restroom, satoru is seated on the bed, two lightning bolt stickers on his cheeks, his mouth opening to form an ‘o’ as he takes your figure in.

“how’s it look?” you smile sheepishly.

satoru says one word before he’s standing up and taking two large strides towards you, “kachow” he smiles, crashing his lips onto yours and stopping the laugh that was about to leave your lips.

“how about we do a couple laps here if you know i mean” he mumbled against your lips. you’re smiling at him, giving him a peck before shoving him slightly.

“we told them we’d go! i don’t wanna flake again just cause you can’t keep it in your pants” you tease, pressing a kiss to his cheek before gently nipping at his neck.

satoru groans at your action, knowing you just love getting a rise out of him.

“also McQueen is nascar not f1” you point out, smiling as satoru rolls his eyes at you, grabbing the car keys and holding the door open for you.

“maybe you are sally personified” he mumbles to himself, checking you out as you walk to the car, smiling as turn to look at him.

“cmon! you don’t wanna be late do ya?” you tease, satoru walks quickly next to you, his hand grabbing your waist as he opens the car door for you.

the two of you stayed a respectable amount of time, but the longer you stared at satoru the more you understood sally. satoru definitely looked amazing in that costume, and you didn’t know how much longer you could take without ripping that damn thing off him.

I'm going to scream my dad said he got me a late Christmas gift that he forgot to wrap and it's a bunch of those dumb stamps but they're Cars characters and on top of that some of them include Cars 2 characters I'm going to lose my mind. I will start buying ink pads once the sad day of these running out come. I will terrorize so many things with these I already stamped my hand with a Lightning McQueen one but. But. The icing on the cake is that they're all different colors right. But for some reason the purple ones are Holley Shiftwell(makes sense, purple car) and ROD REDLINE!?!?! And that is making me even more bonkers because a right amount or Cars 2 characters get the "we don't exist" treatment, especially Rod(which I suppose makes sense why it would be hard to market a guy that exists for a few minutes before being blown up) and so I was so happy to see him.

HOLS ON. HOLD ON. IM. SORRY. AS IM MAKING THIS POST I. I don't want to ruin this post in all caps so just read this as me shouting but as I'm writing this I'm looking at all of them and I was like "Haha, the McQueen one is the black one, I wonder who's on the red ones!" And it's Mack!! And I was like oh that's sweet. A lot of Radiator Springs characters get marketing attention(at least their stock png photos do) and Mack doesn't always as often get it so that was really nice. But then I'm like. Oh hey wait. There's like four of every color, two characters each color. Who else is on the red one...?

CHICK. CHICK. FREAKING HICKS. IS ON THE RED ONE. IM GOING TO SOVB IM IN TEARS. HE COULDNT BE MORE GREEN. Literally him being on any other color would've been fine. But they really had to stick it to him and put him on the Rusteeze McQueen red huh. Poor thing. What's worse is that there's literally a green one as well. And it's of Sarge and Fillmore. The gays outdid him at his own color. Chick really is not ever going to catch a break huh.

Stirling: And lastly, look at the oil crisis! We need an alternative!

Tex: I am begging you please don't.

Stirling: Why?

Tex: Cause I'm gonna beat ya to it!

i feel like allinol probably went out of business after cars 2 (and quite frankly i dont believe it ever existed in canon - i dont accept cars 2 as any kind of canon aside from the drivers - the drivers exist but i doubt any of them have ever met irl before, they just stick to their respective motorsports)

sterling still has his mudflap business, and he seems to have done quite well with just it prior to rusteze (because, well, he was able to buy rusteze), so although it does seem on par for him to go for a corrupted company, i dont think tex would compete for it. tex owns dinoco, rusteze, and probably a track or two (like his VA). i think hes quite content having all of those things and racing to focus on.
