Since when did you start following football?
Since 2018 when the World Cup in Russia started
Favorite National Teams?
Croatia NT - because they achieved so much those past 5 years, yes I know they like to move games to penalties and play with our nerves, but I still feel like I am part of their family like other Croatia NT fans :)
Russia NT - because I simply like Russian people and I am half one, so I really fell in love with that team. They played so well during the WC in 2018 and during WC qualifiers. I was literally so miserable when I found out they will not be able to participate in Qatar
Serbia NT - idk I love them simply because they are our neighbours and I always love supporting my neighbours during EURO and WC
Who was your favorite player then and why?
(Wow wut a hard question I have asked myself) Livakovic obviously. I know he was being kept on a bench, but I always knew he would be a great goalkeeper, he is our number 1 and very important member of the National Team, yet I didn't post stuff about him at all because I didn't have Tumblr, I was a dumb kid lmfao- but yeah, I can talk about him 'till I die, so yeah I am moving to the next question before I go too far
Do you train football? If you don't, why?
Hell no I don't. First of all; I am very anti-social person (tho there is exclusion when it comes to going on matches I love rooting with other peeps), Second of all; I have very low self-esteem, Third of all; I wanted to be a goalkeeper, but I was always afraid to get goals bc people often get mad at me, fuck them
Favorite clubs?
Dinamo Zagreb - I've been following this club since 2018 after the end of WC in 2018 mainly because of Livi, I love that guy sm he is precious, but the love of this club has grown in 2021 because of its success in Europa League.
Man City - Kova plays in City and he is literally my 2nd fav football player, and one of my best friends roots for City so here we are šŸ‘Œ
Borussia Dortmund - Idk I just love them so much, their mascot is so cute, the club has gotten my hear for some reason šŸ˜
Favorite pic in your gallery?

Watched a documentary about the (now legendary) football games between the national teams of russia and Ukraine in 1998 and 1999. The sheer levels of imperialistic fascism the russians were displaying leading up to those games is just typical. And yes, both those games took place before putin came to power, russians have just always been like that.
Patches and pins "russian invasion of Ukraine 1998" were popular among the russian fans leading up to the first game in Kyiv:
Tumblr media
The rhetoric in the russian media about Ukraine not really being a separate country intensified.
For the record, russia lost that game 3:2.
But all of this is nothing compared to the second game, in Moscow in 1999. Russia needed only to win in order to move on in the tournament. Ukraine could settle with a draw. And that is when the true madness unfolded.
Probably the best known episode was this headline in one of the biggest sports newspapers in russia:
Tumblr media
You see, they had a player with the last name "Khokhlov". So, on the surface level, the headline says, "Kick, Khokhlov, save Russia!" However, if you read out the headline, it also says "Kick [slur word for Ukrainians], save russia!". The slogan is a paraphrase of one of the main slogans of the russian Black Hundreds (ultra-reactionary, ultra-nationalist pogromist monarchist movement in the russian empire in early 20th century), only in the original versions there was the slur for Jews there instead. The russians were very proud of that pun. It was everywhere at the time.
Vladimir Putin, who was the russian prime minister at the time, was present at the game. The way the russian commentators already went out of their way to keep singing his praises for no reason is a good indicator how russians tend to make a cult of personality around everyone who happens to be a figure of authority.
And then the game finished with a draw 1:1 after an unbeliavable goal by Andriy Shevchenko (and due to a mistake from russia's goalkeeper):
youtube
Putin got really upset. He stopped showing up at such sporting events for years after this.
The bus with the Ukrainian national team got attacked on its way to the stadium before the game (according to Shevchenko, russians threw bottles at it) and especially after the game (with all sorts of objects being thrown at it, from beer bottles to rocks).
Absolutely typical. And one of the clearest views of ruscism.

A primer on the UEFA Champions League for the Ted Lasso fandom
In the finale, weā€™re told several times that Richmond have qualified for the Champions League. If you have only a very vague idea of what that means, this is the post for you.
WHAT IS IT?
The Champions League (UCL) is a club competition among top-league European clubs. It draws clubs from the top leagues of ALL* countries members of UEFA, the governing body of football associations in Europe. (*All countries except Liechtenstein and, currently, Russia)
WHEN IS IT?
The UCL runs alongside the regular season, from September to June. This means that clubs who compete in it play UCL matches on top of regular Premier League matches. Richmond werenā€™t ā€œpromotedā€ to the Champions League ā€” they remain first and foremost a Premier League club. They also get to play with the rest of Europeā€™s cool kids.
UCL matches would be mid-week (Tuesday or Wednesday) every 3-ish weeks, and domestic league matches would usually be on weekends. YES this will mean that Richmond will be very busy next season.
WHICH CLUBS ARE IN IT?
The top 4 clubs in the Premier League automatically make it to the main competition for the NEXT round of the UCL. The path is a bit more complicated for most other countries but luckily it doesnā€™t apply here so we donā€™t need to go into that.
Richmond finished in second place in the League for the year 21/22 (season 3) so theyā€™d play in the UCL for the 22/23 season. This doesnā€™t mean they are guranteed to still play in the UCL in the 23/24 season if they canā€™t end the 22/23 Prem in the Top 4. They need to REMAIN a top national club to qualify again for the Champions League.
HOW DOES IT WORK?Ā
GROUP STAGE: a round-robin round where 32 teams are divided in 8 groups of 4. Each team in each group plays the other teams in the group twice, once at home (hosting) once away (being hosted) for a total of SIX matches. The top TWO sides in each group advance to the knockout round. This stage takes place from August to December. Richmond would enter directly from this round.
KNOCKOUT ROUND: this round is in double-legged formatā€”this means that each paired sides play each other TWICE, once at home and once away. The round winner is decided by goal difference, so a side can advance to the next round if they lose one of the two matches, provide they win the other by a larger goal difference. If both legs are a draw, there can be extra time and/or a penalty shootout.
In the round of 16 sides from the same country CANā€™T play against each other, so for example Richmond couldnā€™t play Arsenal in that round. In the quarter-final (8 teams) and a semifinal (4 teams) rounds teams from the same country CAN draw each other, so that could happen.
For example, in the current season, AC Milan played Napoli in the quarter-final and then Inter Milan in the semifinals; all three teams are from Italy. The double-legged knockout round takes place from February to May.
FINAL: Itā€™s in June. The two teams who remain standing after the semifinals only play each other ONCE. The location is appointed beforehand and itā€™s often neutral ground to both teams. The next UCL final will actually be this Saturday (June 10) Man City v. Inter Milan will play in Istanbul.
how many matches in a UCL season?
If you make it to the semifinals, itā€™s 6 in group stage + 6 in the 3 successive knockout rounds. This is 12 matches, of which 6 are away (and usually abroad) The final is the 13th match.
What does it mean to win the Champions League?
The UCL is considered the most prestigious club competition in the world. We see in in the show; Roy having won the UCL with Chelsea in 2012 comes up several times in S1, even though Chelsea also won the Premier League multiple times while Roy was thereĀ ā€” but the Champions League is the one people bring up.
Winning the domestic league is obviously a big fucking deal, but winning the UCL is huge. Only a handful of top-league clubs have won it multiple times, and many big clubs have NEVER won it (including Man City, PSG, Arsenal and AS Roma) Then thereā€™s Real Madrid whoā€™ve won it FOURTEEN TIMES
EDIT: Man City have since won their first UCL trophy

The Mystery of Love - Andrei Svechnikov
Tumblr media
Pairing: college!Andrei Svechnikov x fem!OC
Summary: Boston University senior Vivian Adams is the quintessential Miss Terrier - President of her sorority and star student, with big aspirations waiting for her as soon as she crosses the stage at graduation. What will happen when she gets paired with her ex-boyfriend and BUā€™s hockey star, Andrei Svechnikov, for the biggest project of her college career? College AU.
Word Count: 11.8K
Authorā€™s Note: I wrote this for @idontgiveaflyinggrayson69 for @antoinerousselā€™s Winter Fic Exchange! I wonā€™t lie, when I first received my match I had a minor (major) freak out (Demi can confirm). I admire you and your writing so much, Nat, and I was petrified of creating something for someone I think is one of the best writers on this site. Thank you for (unknowingly) challenging me to create something that felt worthy to gift to you. I hope you enjoy!
Huge S/O to Demi for beta-ing, dealing with my thousands of messages, and reminding me to be more confident in myself. And to @suitandtys for her endless support and being a sounding board (+ for the 90210 inspiration). šŸ–¤
Warnings: Language, alcohol use/mention, smut (18+ ONLY), unprotected sex, oral sex (f receiving), some angst, some fluff, brief mentions of/references to anxiety, Greek life themes/mention.
NHL Masterlist / Moodboard
When Vivian Adams met Andrei Svechnikov, she had no idea just how much he would impact her. Sure, he was handsomeā€”anyone could see thatā€”but he was also sweet, charming, and incredibly caring, and he understood her in a way that others couldnā€™t. He might not have been her ā€œideal typeā€, but he certainly became the one that made all of the others irrelevant.Ā
If she thought about it, it was no surprise how she fell for him as fast as she did. He lived in the dorm building next to hers, discovered at some ā€œBack to School Bashā€ during their freshman year at Boston University. It was awkward, but so was everyone there, searching for connections to make with people that would very likely shape their college experience as Terriers.Ā
Vivian stood uncomfortably to the side with her roommate and a few others from their dorm, doing her best to mingle with other nervous freshmen. There were only so many times she could ask, ā€œWhere are you from?ā€ and ā€œWhatā€™s your major?ā€ before she started to go insane.
But then, a tall, handsome boy approached her to join his volleyball team, gesturing to the sand court behind him. Andrei. All he needed to do was smile, and Vivian was gone. Soon enough, they were meeting for breakfast at the cafeteria, having weekly lunch in between classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays after psych lecture hall, and meeting up to study in the common room of her dorm with their other friends.
The friendship came quickly, and the romance wasnā€™t far behind. Andrei found comfort in Vivianā€™s soft smile and innocent nature, while Vivian felt at home in Andreiā€™s warmth and his inner child. It was like a movie, the pretty girl paired with the athlete, though instead of the football teamā€™s star quarterback, he was a grungy hockey player. Regardless, he certainly had the good looks of the leading man, with prominent muscles and a dimple that could melt anyoneā€™s heart. When Vivian joined a sorority and began climbing the social ranks of Terrier Nation, having a handsome athlete for a boyfriend certainly didnā€™t hurt her standing.
Their relationship made it through the summer, a difficult distance since Andrei went back to Russia to spend time with his family. Through regular video calls and frequent texts, they maneuvered the time difference as well as they could have, trying to enjoy their breaks while still looking forward to when they could be together again in Boston.
Despite the familiarity of campus and routines, fall semester of their sophomore year brought new challenges: more advanced classes, an Alpha Zeta leadership position, a part time job, and heightened expectations of a big year for BU menā€™s hockey. Andrei and Vivian carried the wisdom of sophomores who had learned lessons the previous year, but still had the naĆÆvetĆ© of 19-year-olds navigating their newfound freedom. Their reunion after a summer apart was wonderful, but the feeling was short lived.
Between the hockey schedule, extracurricular obligations, and their regular coursework, Andrei and Vivian struggled to find free time to spend together. More often than not, their schedules conflicted; when Andrei was free, Vivian had class; when Vivian had a break, Andrei had practice. It became increasingly frustrating, only having time together at night, and even then, Andrei often fell asleep moments after his head hit the pillow.
Change was inevitable, but that didnā€™t mean they werenā€™t dreading it.Ā
The day they broke up was dark. Literally. It was storming outside, rain falling in heavy sheets as students ran for cover under their umbrellas and the awnings of campus buildings. Having forgotten her umbrella that day, Vivian got back to her dorm room drenched. With a rare two free hours before her herNetwork (an organization for women in business) meeting, she planned to take a nap before heading early to the library to knock out an assignment, but was instead met with Andrei waiting anxiously at her dorm.
Truthfully, Vivian had been feeling distant from Andrei, too, but genuinely hadnā€™t had any time to think about it between her Alpha Zeta obligations, planning the herNetwork fundraiser, and heading into the last stretch of the semester before winter break. Andrei was equally busy with travel, his season in full swing, along with keeping up with the rest of his schoolwork, but he couldnā€™t deny that the distance from Vivian was tearing him apart.
It wasnā€™t what she expected when she saw him, dark circles under his eyes and an uneven, patchy shadow of hair growing along his jawline. But as he sat on the edge of her bed, sadness in his eyes, it was both of their hearts that broke that day.
In the end, it was a mutual decision; not for lack of love, but simply due to the rift that had grown between them as their other responsibilities took priority. Andrei held her as she cried, staining his faded BU Hockey t-shirt with her tears. Their last hug was warm, but bittersweet, as Vivian did her best to soak in the last traces of his cologne on her sweatshirt.
Vivian wasnā€™t bitter, or even regretful; the only thing she regretted was that it hadnā€™t worked out. Andrei was such a kind, wonderful person, humble despite having every reason not to be, and she knew heā€™d have success wherever he went. Truth be told, she hadnā€™t really thought much about their future, past their wonderful BU bubble, but after they broke up, she realized how different their paths were. Andrei was destined to be an NHL star, while Vivian would surely make Forbesā€™ 30 Under 30 list at some point. Their lives just didnā€™t mesh ā€“ and she had to come to terms with that.
Two years later, Vivian was in the last semester of her senior year, fulfilling and exceeding every expectation set in front of her. President of her sorority and herNetwork, star student, expecting to graduate summa cum laude with a double major in Business and Finance and undoubtedly multiple full-time job offers, Vivian Adams was the quintessential Miss Terrier.Ā
Andrei was also in his last semester, though his college career had taken him on a much different path, focused almost solely on hockey. Drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes, he hoped to have a record senior season before heading to Raleigh to live out his dream of playing in the NHL. The Bachelorā€™s degree in Business was just a backup, a safety net, should things not work out. But, given that he was a shoe-in for the Hobey Baker and already expected to be a Calder finalist in his first season, his future seemed all but cut out for him.
As their social circles had drifted apart over time, Vivian and Andrei didnā€™t see each other much, the run-ins at bars and parties less than frequent but not entirely nonexistent. Their ties to the business school kept them in each otherā€™s lives, albeit on the fringes, often passing each other in the hallways on the way to class. Though they rarely spoke outside of the occasional smile or wave, they had a few classes together over the years, a familiar comfort having him in the back of the classroom.
So, Vivian wasnā€™t overly surprised to walk into her capstone class to find Andrei already seated in the last row, scrolling on his phone. She settled into her own spot, across the room from him, just out of habit, though she offered a small smile when he looked up from his phone and saw her looking at him.Ā
ā€˜Nervousā€™ wasnā€™t quite the proper word to use to describe how she felt about her capstone class, but it was close. As she listened to Professor Janes explain the partnered project, she became increasingly anxious and excited to get started. An intimidating semester-long project, surely the biggest one of her college career, it included bidding for company-sponsored projects with varying focuses ranging from marketing to strategy to operations, all ultimately culminating in a presentation of the proposal and recommendations in front of the companyā€™s executives at the end of the semester. No doubt a successful presentation could result in a potential job offer, or at the very least, very crucial networking for a young professional about to head into the real world. In short, a lot of close personal time with whoever she was paired with, and a lot riding on their mutual partnership.Ā
Then, add in the fact that Professor Janes mentioned sheā€™d be assigning partners rather than letting them select their own, an additional layer of suspense tacked on. Her justification was, unfortunately, sound, being that they wouldnā€™t have the luxury of picking their teammates and coworkers in the ā€˜real worldā€™, and it was important to learn how to work with someone you may not know very well.
Fortunatelyā€”or unfortunatelyā€”for Vivian, she knew her assigned partner a little too well and nearly dropped her phone when she received the email from Professor Janes later that week. She read it over three separate times, part of her in disbelief when she saw her partnerā€™s name listed beside hers.
Adams, V. / Svechnikov, A.
Then she saw his name pop up in a text, and she knew it was real.
[Andrei Svechnikov:] Well this is gonna be fun [Andrei Svechnikov:] Should we meet for coffee to talk about it? [Andrei Svechnikov:] The project, I mean
With a deep breath, Vivianā€™s eyes traced over his name in her phone, a brief but powerful rush of memories flying through her. Somewhere along the wayā€”she didnā€™t remember whenā€”sheā€™d changed his name from ā€˜Drei šŸ’–ā€™ to his full name, sans emoji. Looking at it now, so formal and impersonal, it made her heart ache just a little bit.
[Vivian:] Brianā€™s at 2pm tomorrow?
Tumblr media
JanuaryĀ
Coffee wasnā€™t awkward, but it was the first time theyā€™d spent real time together since they broke up two years prior. To Andrei, Vivian had only gotten more beautiful in time, her confident nature making her even more attractive as sheā€™d grown up; seeing her up close only solidified his thought with her long, dark hair cascading over her shoulders. She still wore the same perfumeā€”wafting into his senses even from afar as she approachedā€”and Andrei had to distract himself from the rush of feelings that flooded his system at the scent by waving to a friend passing by behind her.Ā
ā€œSome project, huh?ā€ he asked, watching her slide into the high-top stool across from him.Ā
Vivian glanced at him and shook her head in disbelief. ā€œItā€™s an awesome project. Real world problems for real world companiesā€”itā€™s such good exposure. Itā€™s just also, you know, kind of petrifying at the same time, for the same reason.ā€
ā€œIā€™m paired up with the smartest girl in the program,ā€ he grinned. ā€œI know Iā€™m gonna be fine.ā€
Vivian rolled her eyes, brushing off his compliment. ā€œYouā€™re smart, too, Andrei.ā€
ā€œIā€™m a hockey player,ā€ he said with a shrug. ā€œIā€™m only as smart as I need to be, and as long as it doesnā€™t interfere with competing for the Natty.ā€
ā€œAndrei, this is the most important project of our lives. I need you to be as smart as possible, not only as smart as you need to be. You may already have your next step laid out for you, but I donā€™t have that luxury. Not all of us can be prospects for an up-and-coming NHL team.ā€
His eyebrow quirked, amused at her worry. ā€œYou know about that?ā€
He watched Vivianā€™s eyes widen slightly, shifting uncomfortably as she admitted to following news about Andrei even after theyā€™d broken up. She cast her eyes down, thumb running along the seam of the cardboard sleeve on her coffee cup, as if searching for an excuse. ā€œItā€™s hard not to know.ā€
ā€œBut you still did your research. The Canes arenā€™t even in the Bruinsā€™ division.ā€ He grinned again, pleased with her admission and the knowledge that sheā€™d gone out of her Boston bubble to investigate his future plans. ā€œYou looked me up!ā€
With a roll of her eyes, she nudged his leg with her foot. ā€œShut up. Of course I did.ā€
Feigning pain, Andrei grabbed his ankle with both hands, giving a dramatic cry. ā€œOuch! You better be more careful around these superstar legs.ā€
ā€œCan we talk about the project now?ā€ she sighed, shaking her head at his antics. Andrei conceded, though he noticed the small smile that played at the corner of her lips as she pulled her laptop out of her bag, pleased at his ability to still make her laugh.
Tumblr media
February
After selecting their projectā€”a review of an eCommerce siteā€™s operations and subsequent marketing planā€”it was easy for Vivian to morph into planning mode, creating a project timeline and documenting each necessary step to get there. From there, they worked together to divvy up the work, scheduling weekly meetups at the library to review and discuss their findings and any hiccups.Ā
Andrei was unexpectedly easy to work with, accepting the pieces she assigned him without complaint. Sure, he was still more committed to hockey than the project, but he still managed to complete his work (almost always by the deadline), and usually with minimal nudging on her end. He was a hard worker, always had been; she saw it every time he stayed late after practice to work on his one-timer, or the time he spent studying at the library, his thermos of tea gone cold beside him while he worked on his flashcards. He was smarter than she remembered, too, certainly not relying solely on her brain but contributing his own valuable insight and analysis to the project, even pointing out a hiccup she would have otherwise missed.
A lot had changed in two years, but Vivian was surprised to find that many things stayed the same, too.
Andrei still had the same endearing laugh, the one that made his Adamā€™s apple bob in his throat, and the same goofy sense of humor and positive attitude that she fell in love with. He still stuck his tongue out of the corner of his mouth when he concentrated hard, and sometimes still muttered to himself in Russian when reading an English article.Ā
Vivian was equally surprised that he still remembered her coffee order. About three weeks into their weekly library meetings, he started bringing a fresh cup for herā€”iced, with toffee nut syrup and a splash of almond milkā€”occasionally adding something different, like cold foam or an extra pump of vanilla syrup. It was a sweet gesture, something she continually offered to pay for, that he would wave off and smile, saying ā€˜it was the least he could doā€™ because she was the one keeping the project afloat.
Mostly, Vivian was startled by how easily she fell back into stride beside him. Things were different; sheā€™d changed, and so had he, but the foundation of their relationship was still strong, having weathered the storm of time. While part of her felt like she was getting to know him all over again, there were parts of her that felt like she was reuniting with an old friendā€”and in some ways, she supposed, she was.
Having Andrei thrust back into her life wasnā€™t something she was expecting, and she was unprepared for how having him in such close proximity would affect her. Though they were amiable, she tried to keep him at armā€™s length out of pure precaution, keeping the majority of conversation about the project and surrounding schoolwork. But, of course, it was only inevitable that there were extra details thrown in now and again; a synopsis of his latest game, his brotherā€™s success in the NHL, his upcoming Finance exam.Ā
As the weeks went on, she began to piece together the parts of him that sheā€™d missed, adjusting to the way it felt to have him reclaim a regular place in her life. The details of him that sheā€™d forgotten, like his missing tooth and the way his hair flipped out slightly at the ends when it got long, came trickling back into her conscience, unexpected but not entirely unwanted.
On the nights where their project work went late, Andrei would walk her home, refusing to let her walk on campus alone at night. Theyā€™d laugh, tell stories, joke around about the crush Andrei had on Professor Janes. It was subtle, patient, slow in the way the rift between them began to shrink, a small but crucial crack in the hardened shell around their hearts.Ā
The project itself was going swimmingly. It was everything else surrounding the project that was confusing.
Tumblr media
Andrei was deep in an article about eCommerce operations, Vivian typing away across from him, when the buzzing of Andreiā€™s phone startled them both. With a glance at the screen, Andrei grimaced when he saw his Coachā€™s name appear. Sending an apologetic glance in Vivianā€™s direction as he stood, he stepped toward the door to take the call in the hallway.
ā€œHey, Coach. Iā€™m at the library. Whatā€”?ā€
ā€œI just got the midterm reports, Svechnikov. A ā€˜Dā€™ on your Finance exam?ā€
Andreiā€™s eyes closed and he sighed, bringing a hand to his temple. ā€œI know, it was a bad exam.ā€
ā€œI donā€™t have to remind you what failing your classes looks like for both this team and your future.ā€
ā€œI know, Coach. I hear you.ā€
There was an edge of empathy in the otherwise cool frustration of his Coachā€™s voice. ā€œI understand that it can be difficult to juggle school and sports, but the rest of your teammates are doing just fine.ā€
Andrei choked out a weak Iā€™m trying, doing his best not to give his Coach unnecessary attitude.
ā€œGet a tutor if you have to. Playoffs are only a month away, and I need you to have your shit together. Okay?ā€
ā€œOkay,ā€ Andrei sighed.
ā€œIā€™m serious, Svechnikov.ā€
ā€œYeah. I know.ā€
ā€œOkay. See you at practice later.ā€
ā€œYeah. See you.ā€
With another frustrated sigh, Andrei hung up the phone and ran a hand through his hair while he composed himself. When he moved back toward the door, he noticed that it was cracked open and prayed that Vivian couldnā€™t hear his conversation.Ā
ā€œEverything okay?ā€ she asked once he came back in, not glancing up as she continued typing on her laptop.
ā€œYeah,ā€ he smiled, settling back into his seat and returning his attention to his own laptop screen, though he couldnā€™t bring himself to resume his article perusal, staring blankly at the cursor on his document.Ā
There was a moment of pause as Andrei assumed Vivian bought his lie, his Coachā€™s voice echoing in his head. Then, her voice broke the silence. ā€œDoes your coach always call you to ask about your exams?ā€Ā
Andreiā€™s eyes shot to hers, a mix of surprise and embarrassment flooding his body as he realized sheā€™d heard the conversation. Fuck.
ā€œItā€™s nothing,ā€ he said with a half smile, attempting to brush off the encounter nonchalantly.
ā€œAndrei,ā€ Vivian said softly. The warmth in her brown eyes told him that she saw right through him, just like she always did.
There was another pregnant pause as he debated if he should open up, a pivotal turning point in their relationship coming upon him all at once. Something unseen inside of him pushed him to go on, and reluctantly, he admitted, ā€œMy grades areā€¦ bad. If I fall below a 2.6 GPA, Iā€™ll be on academic probation and I canā€™t play.ā€
ā€œWhat are you at?ā€
ā€œ2.74.ā€
Vivian was unable to stop the sharp intake of breath at his confession, which caused Andrei to look at his lap bashfully. He wrung his hands together, twisting them as he sat in his discomfort and shame, embarrassed in front of his ex-girlfriend who had only ever received one ā€˜Cā€™ in her life. It was a miracle sheā€™d ever been interested in him, the dumb jock, in the first place, only logical for the smartest girl in school to move on to someone bigger and better than him.
ā€œIā€™m working on it,ā€ he said quickly, in defense of himself. ā€œIt was just a bad exam. Iā€™m shit at Finance. Itā€™ll be fine.ā€
She didnā€™t have to say anything, instead watching him understandingly, reading right through his confident facade. Her eyebrows raised, silently telling him she knew he was feeding her bullshit, and before he knew it, the words were spilling out of his mouth, a confession of his guilt and worry for his future. He had made the decision to stay in school, finish his degree before heading to the NHL despite the fact that he wouldā€™ve been eligible after his junior year. He felt like a failure, delaying his hockey career to get a degree that, at that point, he wasnā€™t even sure he was capable of getting, afraid of flunking out before the semesterā€™s endā€”in which case, all of it would have been a waste.
ā€œIā€™ll help you.ā€
ā€œYou what?ā€
ā€œIā€™ll help you. I can tutor you.ā€
ā€œViv, you donā€™t have toā€”ā€
ā€œAndrei,ā€ she said firmly, ā€œmy grades are tied to yours now. If youā€™re not doing well, then Iā€™m not either.ā€
ā€œBut Alpha Zeta, andā€”ā€
ā€œWeā€™re already here together once a week. Itā€™s not a big deal to add on some homework, too.ā€
She had a point. And she was one of the smartest in his class, majoring in Finance. It really would only just be a little extra help here and there. If he was being honest with himself, it would be silly for him to decline.Ā
His eyes held with hers, searching desperately for the words he could use to thank her. Nothing came, only jumbled bits of Russian and English that would surely not make any sense if he said it out loud, so instead he stood up, crossed the room, and engulfed her in a hug. She seemed taken aback, but she relaxed once he gave her a tight squeeze, a hug that was reminiscent of the last one theyā€™d shared together two years ago.
ā€œThank you, Viv.ā€

March Tutoring Andrei came natural to Vivian, a fond parallel to all of the times they had spent studying together freshman year in her dorm. Whatā€™s more, she found herself looking forward to their study sessionsā€”she intentionally used that term rather than ā€˜study dateā€™ā€”though she told herself it was because they were finally seeing tangible progress on the capstone project, and it felt good.
She didnā€™t know why she offered, or what made her blurt it out as soon as the thought arrived in her brain. She only knew that she felt an overwhelming urge to help him, to not let him fail his dreamsā€”even if a Bachelorā€™s degree ranked second on that list.Ā
Sure, she liked the ego boost that came from being smart enough to tutor someone else, but the more they met, the more she learned that she liked Andrei best when it was just them two in a study room, free to be himself without the outside pressures of the world. Out there, he was expected to be something, as was she, but being alone with him reminded her of the Andrei she used to know and the late nights theyā€™d spent talking about dreams and goals and aspirations in the comfort of her dorm room.
As the semester progressed, Thursdays became Vivianā€™s favorite day of the week. Having only two classes and a large break between them, she was typically able to get caught up on the majority of her work. Surely, it was the rewarding sense of accomplishment that made her love Thursdays and had nothing to do with the fact that Thursdays were also her weekly meetings with Andrei.
Yeah, sure, they often ended up staying at the library late into the night, chatting as they worked on the project or his latest Finance assignment. And, sure, sometimes sheā€™d feel his eyes lingering on her when he bid her goodbye. But those were minor details, obviously. Vivian certainly didnā€™t look forward to hearing the sound of Andreiā€™s laugh and the way his dimple lit up his entire face when he smiled. And she definitely didnā€™t like the way he felt sitting beside her, the way his arm would sometimes brush against hers when sheā€™d lean over to look at his textbook.Ā
No, Andrei absolutely, positively, had nothing to do with why Thursdays had grown on her.

The weekend before spring break was always a big party weekend, and this year, Pi Kappa Lambdaā€™s ā€œLifeā€™s a Beachā€ party was the hot event of the season. Despite not having enough time in his schedule to formally rush and commit to a fraternity, Andrei was close with many of the Pi Kap brothers, and it had become the unofficial athletic fraternity. Needless to say, Andrei had the date marked for weeks. Pregaming at the hockey house with Jimmy Buffett on blast, he was excited for a highly-anticipated evening of drinking and debauchery.
Andrei was talking with a teammate when a group of girls walking in caught his attention. He wasnā€™t surprised to see Vivian thereā€”Pi Kap was one of the top fraternities on campus, and while he had never really bought into the whole ā€˜social tierā€™ thing, he understood the importance of appearances at these types of functions. She looked good, he thought, with her safari hat, Hawaiian shirt, and those cutoff shorts that displayed her perfect legs.Ā
Vivian didnā€™t seem to notice him, engrossed in greeting her friends, but he continued to watch from across the room, admiring her commitment to the theme and, of course, the way her unbuttoned shirt gave him a view of the slope of her breasts. The more Malibu he consumed, the better she looked, unable to stop himself from glancing back over at her even as he made conversation with other people. He never approached herā€“partially because he was a little too inebriated to say anything that didnā€™t involve her titsā€“but, really, he was just content to watch from afar, observing the infectious impact she had on everyone around her.
Unfortunately, that also meant that he had to begrudgingly watch when she began to dance with a guyā€”some junior-frat-rat with a disgusting mustache on his upper lip. Andrei gritted his teeth as he watched his slimy hands make their way onto her hips, toying with the frayed end of her cutoff shorts in the way that he would have if she was still his girl.Ā
Andrei didnā€™t really know the guyā€”Derek, he thought his name wasā€”but he knew for a fact that he didnā€™t deserve her, wouldnā€™t treat her the way she deserved to be treated. Did he even realize who he was dancing with?Ā
Had he been sober, Andrei probably wouldā€™ve written it off as two people dancing at a party, harmless, most likely meaningless. But he wasnā€™t sober, and Drunk Andrei was convinced that Dirty Derek would be popping the question anytime, and it drove him mad, his fingers itching to wipe that smug mustache off his face.Ā
Fortunately, Drunk Andrei was also smart enough to know not to interfereā€“or maybe it was his Coachā€™s voice in his head warning him not to do anything stupid before the playoffs. Either way, Andrei kept to himself and his rapidly depleting mixed drink. Heā€™d had his opportunity with Vivian, and had thrown it away just as easily; it was his burden to bear, not hers, left to muddle whatever his feelings were for her alone.
So, instead of wallowing in his own pity, he turned his attention to the pretty blonde girl who had been flirting with him all night. Like any other 20-something-year-old boy, it was all too easy for him to forget about his long lost lover in a great pair of tits. As he kissed her, his tongue wrestling with hers against the dirty wall of the frat house, the coconut rum impairing his system was just enough to allow him to imagine she was Vivian.

April
The sound of buzzing didnā€™t quite wake her, but the sound of her phone falling on the floor certainly did. Startled, it took Vivian a moment to recognize that her phone was, in fact, ringing. With a groan, she heaved herself out of her cocoon and leaned out of her bed to grab the phone, an unfamiliar number flashing across the top.
Vivian silenced it, wondering briefly why they were calling in the middle of the night, and figuring whoever it was would leave a voicemail if it was really important. Glancing at the timeā€”1:17amā€”she sighed in frustration when she calculated sheā€™d only been asleep for 2 hours before being interrupted by a call that wasnā€™t even important. Annoyed didnā€™t quite do it justice.
But then the ding on her phone alerted her to a voicemail. All she had to see was ā€œAndrei Svechnikovā€ on the transcription before she was hurriedly pressing the phone to her ear.
Five minutes later, she was shoving on some boots and a coat before jumping into her car to drive to the campus security office.
The parking lot was almost empty, save for the handful of campus security vehicles. When she walked inside, Vivianā€™s eyes connected with a blonde woman behind the desk, glancing up at the sound of the door.Ā
ā€œHi, are you Ms. Evans?ā€Ā
She nodded. ā€œIs Andrei okay?ā€
ā€œHeā€™s alright, just had a few too many,ā€ she explained, causing a wave of relief to rush over Vivian. Sheā€™d process what that meant later. ā€œOne of our guys found him stumbling alone and picked him up. Heā€™s over 21, so he wonā€™t be charged with anything; we just wanted to make sure he got home safe.ā€
Vivian nodded in understanding, thankful for once that campus security was doing their jobā€”she remembered the times sheā€™d dreaded seeing their vehicles pulling up to parties when she was younger, having to slip out of a back window more times than sheā€™d care to count. She sat as she waited for one of the security officers to retrieve Andrei from one of the back rooms, also thankful that theyā€™d kept their hockey teamā€™s star player hidden from public view while he was obliterated.
The tall Russian stumbled into view, his arm sloped over an officerā€™s shoulder as he helped walk him down the hallway. Vivian grimaced, noting Andreiā€™s bright red cheeks and disheveled hair. If she had to guess, sheā€™d bet it was Jose Cuervo that did him in; tequila always made him lose his mind.Ā
ā€œViv!ā€ he shouted excitedly, a bright smile lighting up his face when he saw her waiting in the lobby. ā€œYou here! Did you get invite to party, too?ā€
She shared an amused glance with the officer before saying, ā€œYeah, Andrei. I got invited to the party, too. But itā€™s over now, so we have to go home, okay?ā€
Blowing a raspberry in disappointment, Andrei pouted, but agreed. ā€œOhhhh-kay Viv. If you say so.ā€
Vivian thanked the officer for helping her six-foot-something ex-boyfriend into the passenger seat of her car, set up with a spare towel just in case he couldnā€™t make it home without getting sick.Ā
ā€œAndrei,ā€ she said to him once his seat belt was fastened firmly against his broad chest. ā€œDo you have your keys?ā€
ā€œYou so prittā€¦ ty,ā€ he replied, slumping over against the window, the coolness a relief against his warm skin. Vivian did her best to ignore the compliment, writing it off as drunken nonsense.
ā€œAndrei,ā€ she repeated, more stern this time. ā€œAre your keys in your pocket?ā€
ā€œWhy? Youā€“ā€ Hiccup. ā€œā€“you comink over?ā€
Vivian took a deep inhale in, swallowing her frustration before she turned to look at him. ā€œAndrei, you need to go home. Can you get into your house? Do you have your keys?ā€
Whether it was the firmness of her tone or the look in her eyes, something about her third attempt made Andrei swallow thickly, blinking slowly as his hands fumbled around his pockets. Her heart sank when his hands came out empty, a frustrated sigh leaving her mouth. Back to her place it was.
Andrei mumbled mostly nonsensical Russian as she drove back to her apartment, drifting in and out of silent moments as heā€™d doze off. The few moments of sleep he got seemed to help only slightly as she helped get him out of the car, legs nearly buckling under his weight as she helped get him inside.Ā
It was only after she stepped into the living room that she realized she had a decision to make. Her bedroom was upstairs, the couch downstairs. Technically, her ensuite bathroom was much closer to her bed than the Ā½ bath on the main floor was to the couch, plus she knew she wouldnā€™t be able to hear him getting sick if he stayed downstairs.
So, begrudgingly, Vivian steered Andrei toward the stairs, thanking the powers above when he began to put one foot in front of the other to climb them. She barely had time to think about how he hadnā€™t been inside her bedroom since they broke up two years prior. Now with a different mattress and a different bedspreadā€”sheā€™d upgraded to a larger mattress once she moved into an off-campus apartmentā€”the thought that Andrei hadnā€™t ever been in this bed briefly flitted across her mind before he was stumbling forward into it, falling face first into the pillow. It wasnā€™t exactly what she envisioned when she thought about Andrei in bedā€”not that she thought about that, either. Not that often, at least.
Based on the instant snoring, Vivian assumed heā€™d cashed out for the night, and entirely dead weight, heā€™d be impossible to move. So, she retrieved the small trash can in her bathroom and set it next to him, moving his head to the side in case he did get sick in the middle of the night. She tugged off his shoes and pulled an extra blanket over him since heā€™d fallen on top of the comforter.Ā
Thankful that her housemates were all asleepā€”not wanting to deal with explaining why her ex-boyfriend was asleep in her bedā€”Vivian retrieved an extra glass of water, along with a few extra Tylenol from the cabinet to set on the nightstand beside him. She tugged off her own coat and shoes before crawling into bed, unfamiliar with the dip he created in the mattress.
ā€œViv?ā€
The sound of his slurred voice and thick accent startled her, surprised that he was still conscious.Ā
ā€œHm?ā€
ā€œDid you kiss him?ā€
ā€œKiss him? Kiss who?ā€
Andrei was silent for so long that Vivian thought heā€™d fallen back asleep. ā€œDā€¦ Derek.ā€
ā€œDerek?ā€
ā€œFrom party... Beach party.ā€
The memory came flooding back, her vodka-infused night at Pi Kappa Lambda a few weeks back blurry but still recollectable. She didnā€™t know heā€™d seen her indulging in the warm touch of her dance partner, but what Andrei didnā€™t know was that though she was dancing with Derek, it was flashes of a tall Russian that filled her mind, imagining it was him running his hands along her sides. And when her fleeting sobriety returned to her in flashes, and she realized it wasnā€™t Andrei, she couldnā€™t bring herself to go home with him despite the throbbing need between her legs.Ā
ā€œNo, I didnā€™t kiss him, Andrei.ā€
Andrei hummed. ā€œGood.ā€
Despite her foggy memory, Vivian couldnā€™t ignore the pang she felt in her heart as the image of Andrei kissing the pretty blonde Delta Phi in the corner, his lips no doubt working their sinful magic against hers. How could Andrei be bothered by her dancing with someone when heā€™d been doing the same with another girl?
ā€œBut you kissed that girl.ā€
He hummed again, this time accompanied by a loose wave of his hand. ā€œYeah. But was finkinkā€¦ was finking ā€˜boutchu.ā€
In the pause that followed, as she tried to process what Andrei had said, the end of his sentence was soon punctuated with a loud snore. Not that she would have even known what to say to begin with, confused, disappointed, and relieved all at once. As she listened to his uneven but deep breathing, she pondered his words in his head until she fell asleep, the warmth from his body shielding her from the cool air in the room.
The next morning, she awoke to the sound of Andrei groaning loudly. What she saw when she opened her eyes, though, was not what she expected. Somewhere in the middle of the night, heā€™d stripped off his sweatshirt and his shirt, his chest entirely bare save for the familiar silver cross that hung from his neck. Before she could stop herself, her eyes were trailing down the muscles of his pecs, down the line of his abdomen, admiring that he was in even better shape than he had been when they were together.Ā
Fortunately, Andrei didnā€™t notice, instead busy rubbing his eyes and wincing at the movement. ā€œOh, fuck. Feel like got hit by truck.ā€
His accent and lack of pronouns were endearing, and she nodded toward the glass beside him. ā€œThereā€™s water and some medicine on the table. You should take it.ā€
With his eyes still closed, Andrei mumbled a thank you, groping blindly for the pills. Instead of grabbing them, though, he knocked the glass over, spilling water all over her nightstand and the floor. ā€œFuck. Mā€™sorry.ā€
With a sigh, Vivian heaved herself out of bed, grumbling under her breath as she went to retrieve a towel. She refilled his glass with water from the faucet, thrusting the cup into his hands a little more forcefully than she intended.Ā
For a moment, the only sound in the room was that of him gulping down half of the glass, quenching only a portion of the Hungover Drought in his mouth. Breathing heavily, he laid his head back and shut his eyes tightly.
ā€œDid weā€¦ ?ā€
Vivian resisted the urge to laugh, instead raising her eyebrows in an amused way. ā€œYou could barely walk, let alone make any specific body parts function.ā€
He hummed, then, ā€œWhat happened?ā€Ā
ā€œI donā€™t know. You had a lot to drink. I got a call from campus security at one in the morning to come pick you up.ā€
Andrei shut his eyes again; whether he was racking his brain for a memory, or willing away his hangover, she wasnā€™t sure. He let out a deep groan, the kind that she could practically feel the vibrations from.
ā€œCome on,ā€ she urged, nudging his shoulder gently. ā€œCan you stand up? Iā€™ll take you back to your apartment. By the way, you lost your keys.ā€
Andrei groaned loudly, fumbling in his pockets before he let out another. ā€œFuck, I lost my phone, too.ā€
ā€œItā€™s over here, charging. It was almost dead last night,ā€ Vivian explained, unplugging it and handing it to him. With one eye open, Andrei squinted at the screen to send a text to his roommates to see if someone could let him in.
They sat in silence for a moment, Andreiā€™s eyes closed tightly as he did his best to will away his hangover. Vivian listened to the sound of his breathing, doing her best not to glance at the way the muscles in his core rippled as he breathed.Ā
ā€œViv,ā€ he said softly, glancing at her as if afraid of how sheā€™d answer. ā€œNo oneā€™s answering.ā€
With a heavy sigh, Vivian rolled her eyes and threw her head back in frustration. ā€œOf fucking course theyā€™re not.ā€
ā€œItā€™s not my fault!ā€
ā€œYouā€™re the one who lost your keys and got yourself in this situation,ā€ she shot back, standing up.Ā
ā€œWhere you going?ā€Ā
ā€œIf youā€™re going to stay here, you might as well shower. Might help you feel better. Hopefully theyā€™ll answer by the time youā€™re done so I can get on with my day.ā€
ā€œIf youā€™re going to be so cranky, why did you even come last night?ā€ he asked.
ā€œBecause I got a call from campus security at one in the morning, Andrei. Scared the shit out of me. I thought you were dead or something, but instead you were just obliterated out of your mind. Great time to get belligerently drunk, by the way, two days before our presentation. You should be grateful they didnā€™t charge you with public indecency or something.ā€
ā€œOh, yeah, because I definitely got picked up on purposeā€“ā€
Vivian scoffed, rolling her eyes. She tossed the towel at him, purposefully covering up his bare chest so she didnā€™t have to keep looking at it.Ā
ā€œWhy did you even have them call me? Iā€™m not yourā€“ā€ she swallowed the word girlfriend, ā€œā€“ you have other friends. Teammates.ā€
It was Andreiā€™s turn to scoff, ignoring her question in favor of sitting up and pausing for a moment to let the lurching in his skull subside. She watched his long fingers massage his temples, though she knew it wasnā€™t helping by the way his brows furrowed on his forehead.
ā€œI didnā€™t tell them to call you,ā€ he finally said. ā€œThey called because youā€™re still my emergency contact.ā€
ā€œIā€™m what?ā€
He shrugged. ā€œMy parents and brother obviously arenā€™t here. I just never changed it.ā€
Vivian didnā€™t know if she was touched, or annoyed, or sadā€”or maybe all of the above. At the end of the day, she had still dropped everything to make sure he was safe; would always come if he needed her to. No matter what she did, she couldnā€™t deny that she cared about him, deeply.
As he showered, she pondered what all of it meant. And when she dropped him off, making sure he was safely inside his house before driving off with a wave, it hit her so hard she had to pull over on the side of the road.
She wasnā€™t sure if it was a still, or an again, the details not mattering much. All she knew is that she was in love with Andrei Svechnikov.Ā

While everyone else was preparing for the end of the semester and exam season, Andreiā€™s season was approaching its peak as BU prepared for the Frozen Four. As anticipated, his name had been announced as one of the three finalists for the Hobey Baker, adding an additional layer of pressure to his game. Although he already had been drafted and had his future in front of him, he couldnā€™t deny that itā€™d be extremely flattering to win the awardā€”but heā€™d trade it without a second thought if it meant he could raise the championship trophy with his teammates.
The increased training meant less time to study and complete his homework, which also meant less time with Vivā€”though, as their presentation day grew closer, their communication amped up naturally. Andrei found that he was willing to put off the rest of his work in favor of focusing on the project, in part due to it being such a large portion of his grade, but largely because he couldnā€™t stand the thought of disappointing Vivian.Ā
Before he knew it, presentation day had arrived. Andrei made Vivian promise that sheā€™d get a good nightā€™s sleepā€”and she claimed she did, though Andrei noticed that sheā€™d made changes to the slideshow at 12:06am, no doubt combing through every inch one last time.
They were driving together to CyberCommā€™s headquarters, a large high-rise in downtown Boston. Andrei met at Vivianā€™s apartment, waiting patiently while she checked her bag to ensure the flash drive with the extra copy of the presentation was tucked safely in the pocket. As he waited, he smiled when he noticed the vase of flowers sitting on the kitchen table; a ā€˜thank youā€™ heā€™d sent after the campus security fiasco. He also couldnā€™t help but notice that although Vivian was dressed professionally, he was pleased that her attire revealed the slightest sliver of skin on her chest, instantly reminding him of the cleavage heā€™d caught a glimpse of at the Pi Kap party.Ā
Vivian drove to the office, allowing Andrei to continue casting glances at her as she navigated traffic. His eyes slid over the shape of her lips, the dip of her nose, the way her dark hair spilled over her shoulders in luxurious curlsā€”the ones that, in his opinion, always made her look like a model. She was beautiful.
Not that his opinion on the way she looked had ever wavered, even after they broke up. He had always thought she was pretty, and had since the first time he saw her during freshman orientationā€”it was half the reason heā€™d asked her to join his volleyball team. But something about the way the sun lit up her skin, casting a glow over her made his heart beat just a little bit faster. She was confident in herself, but not cocky; essentially, everything he aspired to be as an athlete. Even two years removed from their relationship, Vivian was still inspiring him to be a better person.
Once they arrived at the office, Vivian checked in at the front desk. While they were waiting for Sherry, the Executive Assistant to the CEO, to retrieve them in the lobby, Andreiā€™s nerves began to kick in. They sat in silence, Andrei running through his script in his head until the warmth of Vivianā€™s palm on his leg brought him back to reality.
She offered a smile that reassured him, only just then realizing his leg had been bouncing as he waited in his nerves. His heart raced, though he wasnā€™t sure if it was from the sight of a woman walking toward them, or from the touch of Vivianā€™s hand on his thigh. Either way, he didnā€™t have time to think about it, for the woman approaching them introduced herself as Sherry, offering to show them upstairs.
Sherry led them to a conference room with a long oak table and floor-to-ceiling glass walls, like an office straight out of Succession. Andrei admired as he watched Vivian channel her sorority recruitment charm as they were introduced to the CEO, VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, and VP of Operations. Vivian, he knew, was doing her best to ignore their decorated titles and the weight riding on making a positive impression; if she was as nervous as he was, she didnā€™t show it. Professor Janes sat on the other side of the table, offering an encouraging smile as Andrei set up their presentation and Vivian handed out the prepared booklets to each of the attendees.
Vivianā€™s voice wavered slightly as they started, but by the third slide, she was her normal, charismatic self, her practiced speech coming off as confident and rehearsed but not memorized. Andrei stumbled once or twice, a pink blush coating his cheeks as he smiled through it, glancing each time at Vivian for silent encouragement.
Thirty minutes later, the presentation was done, as were the onslaught of questions from each of the panelists. The VP of Operations, Janet, was the first to stand up to shake both of their hands.
ā€œThank you, Miss Adams and Mr. Svechnikov. I have to say that this has been one of the best, most professional presentations weā€™ve seen yet. Very well done.ā€
Andrei could barely contain his grin, thanking her and Professor Janes as Vivian tucked her laptop in her bag. Andrei led the way out the door with one final ā€œthank you.ā€ Once they were in the hallway and far enough from the door, he was spinning on his heel to lift Vivian up into his arms.
ā€œWe did it!ā€ he exclaimed, spinning her around. ā€œWe fucking did it!ā€
ā€œAndrei! Keep your voice down!ā€ she scolded, though it was punctuated with a giggle that nearly punched Andrei in the gut.
ā€œGod, you were amazing,ā€ he said, quieter this time as he set her down. ā€œWhen they asked that last question about the inventory tracking, I completely froze. You are fucking incredible.ā€
ā€œI know it inside and out,ā€ she said, brushing off the compliment. ā€œYou did great, too, Andrei. Iā€™m proud of us.ā€
ā€œOne of the best theyā€™ve ever seen,ā€ he mused, nudging her shoulder. ā€œPut that on your resume, Viv.ā€
ā€œToo bad you canā€™t use that skill in the NHL,ā€ she joked.
ā€”
Andrei barely had time to bask in the success of the presentation before he was on a plane to St. Paul for the college hockey championship tournament. Being a hockey school, his professors were more than understanding with their deadlines, many of them offering well wishes before he left for the short but significant tournament.Ā
As soon as he arrived, he was flooded with interviews in advance of the Hobey Baker announcement that was to take place before the game. Either way, itā€”both the media and the ceremonyā€”was all a big distraction to Andrei; he had his sights set on a different trophy that was far more important than any individual award he could win. But, remembering his media training, he put a smile on his face and channeled his inner Vivian Adams.
When they called his name announcing him the winner of the award, Andrei was bashful and gracious, only allowing a smile once he was back in the locker room with his teammates who were waiting to congratulate him after the ceremony. A minor celebrationā€”just the way he wanted itā€”before they were back in the zone, preparing for the semifinal game against Notre Dame. Truthfully, he was glad the award was done and over with, though he knew the questions would continue to come even once he made it to the NHL.Ā
After a hard-fought gameā€”and a two point game for the Hobey Baker winnerā€”the Terriers emerged victorious. Coach granted them the night to celebrate, though Andrei was very conscious of his alcohol intake; if all went according to plan, heā€™d be able to really celebrate in two daysā€™ time, once he had the trophy in hand.
The night before the championship, Andrei tossed and turned, eventually dozing off into a dreamless sleep. He awoke the next morning to a text from Vivian, feeling a tug at his heart when he saw the familiar emojis next to her name; something sheā€™d added herself at some point during freshman year and heā€™d never bothered to change them.
[Viv šŸ˜šŸ„°ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„šŸŽ€šŸŒ¼:] Congratulations, Mr. Hobey Baker! Good luck today! Bring home that trophy to Terrier Nation! šŸ¶
It was the only time Andrei allowed himself to be smug; something about Vivian being proud of him awoke the unfamiliar emotions in him. If Andrei thought hard enough, heā€™d have put two and two together then, but when he looked back on that day in later years, heā€™d blame it on the pressure of the game that made him blind to his feelings.
Despite his qualms and reluctance for the attention, it was only fitting for it to be Andrei who scored in OT, surely a goal that would be on his highlight goal for years to come.Ā
The horn sounded as confetti burst from the ceiling, raining a sea of scarlet and white over the arena. Andreiā€™s celebration with his team was cut short when the television crew encouraged them to line up for the presentation of the championship trophy. He was jittering, full of adrenaline; the words of the announcer barely registering with him.
When he lifted the trophy over his head, grinning from ear to ear, it wasnā€™t his family he looked for in the stands, but Vivian. She was the first person he sought out when he got back to campus, Pi Kapp quickly throwing together a celebratory championship bash despite being the week before exams. He didnā€™t expect her to be there, and she wasnā€™t, though that didnā€™t stop him from sending her oneā€”or fourā€”too many drunk texts inviting her out.
It wasnā€™t until several days later, as he was lying in bed and reading through the ā€˜good luckā€™ text sheā€™d sent him before his Finance exam, that the weight of his feelings for her came crashing down on him. He knew he wasnā€™t Vivian smart, but he didnā€™t think he was that dumb either, to be completely oblivious to the way he felt about her.Ā
And of course, it was just his luck that his grand revelation came to him the night before graduation day.
Tumblr media
The buzz of Vivianā€™s alarm went off at 7am, but she was already lying awake, staring at the ceiling. Sheā€™d woken up around 5:30, or thereabouts, unable to sleep for the swirl of emotions building inside of her.Ā
It was graduation day, which brought a bittersweet sense of pride. She was excited to celebrate, to reminisce on all of her and her friendsā€™ accomplishments over the last four years, but she was also anticipating the looming goodbye to the city that had become her homeā€”and everyone in it.
Of course, there was one person in particular that she was dreading saying goodbye to. Now that she had come to terms with her feelings for Andrei, sheā€™d been mulling over what to do about themā€”tell him, and risk her heart breaking, or keep it to herself, and wonder ā€˜what ifā€™ for the rest of her life.Ā
Surely, she assumed, Andrei was already thinking ahead to his future, ready for the bright lights of PNC Arena, the fame and glory of the NHL, and beautiful girls lined up down the street for the chance to talk with him. Heā€™d be signing his first contract soon, worth more money in one season than sheā€™d make in five years. There was no way he would even be thinking about getting back together with his ex-girlfriend from his freshman year of collegeā€”not while he had the world at his feet.
Plus, there was the tiny detail that Vivian still hadnā€™t accepted a job offer, though she had received two to date; while one was in New York City, a fairly reasonable distance from Raleigh, the other was in San Francisco, on the other side of the country. Still, Vivian couldnā€™t shake the feeling that she should tell him, and she knew sheā€™d never forgive herself if she kept it in and found out years later that heā€™d wanted the same.
Vivian had just finished applying her makeup when she heard a knock on the front door. Judging by the sound of it, her housemate was in the shower, and she knew the other two werenā€™t home, so she tightened the tie on her robe and ran downstairs to answer it.Ā
As she opened the door, Vivian came face to face with Andreiā€”or at least, face to chest. He was panting on the front porch, half dressed with his tie undone as he stood in front of her.Ā
ā€œAndrei, what are you doing here? Iā€™m trying to get readyā€”ā€
ā€œIā€”you look beautiful,ā€ he said, breathless.Ā
ā€œThank you,ā€ she said, then repeated, ā€œWhat are you doing?ā€
ā€œI need to talk to you.ā€ There was a fire in his eyes that told her it was important, so she stepped aside and let him in.
Before she could say anything, he was climbing the steps up to her room, two at a time, and she jogged behind him, confused.
ā€œWhat is going on? Youā€™re scaring me, Andrei.ā€
ā€œIā€”I had to see you.ā€
She raised her eyebrows, silently asking for him to continue. He took a moment to catch his breath, then said, ā€œI couldnā€™t sleep last night. I canā€™t stop thinking about you. I almost called you like, eight different times. And then it hit me.ā€
Vivian held her breath, anticipating what might be coming next, though nothing could really prepare her for the words that came out of his mouth.
ā€œYa lyublyu tebya,ā€ he said.
Vivian stared at him, the foreign words hanging between them in the silence. Outside of the occasional curse word or when he was really drunk, sheā€™d hardly ever heard him speak Russian, as he put much of his energy into learning ā€˜good and properā€™ English once he had committed to finishing his degree at BU. ā€œIā€¦ I donā€™t know what that means.ā€
Andrei smiled, his eyes warm as he looked at her. ā€œI think you do.ā€
And she did. Vivian Adams wasnā€™t the smartest girl in her class for nothing. But in that moment, she wasnā€™t Vivian Adams, President of Alpha Zeta, Summa Cum Laude. She was just Viv. And fuck, if Viv didnā€™t love him too.
ā€œAndreiā€¦ā€
ā€œGod, I fucking love you,ā€ he said, like he was unable to stop himself now that heā€™d said it once. ā€œI donā€™t think I ever stopped. It just got hidden because you werenā€™t around. And then we got paired together, and I justā€”ā€
His monologue was cut off when Vivian lunged forward to press her lips against his. Suddenly, he didnā€™t give a single shit about what else had left to say, instead focused on kissing her back as he threaded his hands through her hair. He never wanted to stop kissing her, not now that he finally felt her perfect lips again.
For the moment, she was content to just kiss him, familiarizing herself with his mouth after being separated for so long. But when his tongue traced along the seam of her lips, she was all too eager to let him deepen the kiss, welcoming him into her mouth. Andreiā€™s hand gripped her jaw, keeping her pressed against him while his other hand wandered to her chest, massaging her breast over the soft fabric of her robeā€”the way heā€™d wanted to since he saw the glimpse of her cleavage at the party.
Soon enough, Vivian found herself lying on her back, Andreiā€™s large frame looming over her as he kissed his way down her jaw. Her hands roamed his broad, muscular back, feeling the divots of his shoulders as he held himself over her. The feeling of his mouth on the sensitive skin of her neck made her shiver, his tongue tracing the spot that always drove her crazy. Judging by the moan that slipped from her mouth, it was safe to say that spot was still a weakness.
ā€œAndrei,ā€ she mumbled, brain fuzzy as she searched for the words to say. ā€œWe canā€™tā€”have toā€”ā€
ā€œI know, I know. Just give me a minute,ā€ he pleaded against her neck, mouth making its way to her chest. ā€œPlease.ā€
ā€˜A minuteā€™ turned into ten, leaving her completely naked with his head buried between her thighs. A feral groan left his mouth when his tongue first lapped against her, instantly remembering the sweetness of the way she tasted. Heā€™d never been a bad lover, but clearly the years apart had earned him a lot of practice, for his tongue flicking her clit sent her flying over the edge with ease. Smirking to himself, pleased with his ability, Andrei placed gentle kisses against the inside of her thighs as she came down from her high.Ā
ā€œViv,ā€ her housemate called from downstairs, bursting her bubble sooner than she might have liked, ā€œyour parents are here.ā€
It only took a moment for Vivian to come out of her orgasmic haze, eyes widening as she realized the state she was in. Her eyes shot to Andreiā€™s, who was frozen with his lips on her inner thigh.
ā€œFuck,ā€ she whispered, quickly standing up and gesturing for Andrei to straighten himself up. Then, she shouted down the stairs, ā€œHi, mom and dad. Iā€™ll be down in a secondā€”just finishing up!ā€
She was quick to throw on the dress she had set out, hanging completely forgotten once Andrei arrived. Her hair was only partially done, but she managed to salvage it by throwing a few loose curls in; fortunately, her head would be covered by her cap for most of the photos.Ā
It was only when she glanced at Andrei, wiping off the remnants of her orgasm in the sink before she realized how this would look. Obviously, this new stage of their relationshipā€”where did this leave them?ā€”was more than fresh; she wasnā€™t even sure if her parents would remember that she told them theyā€™d been paired together for the capstone project.Ā
ā€œI love you, too, you know,ā€ she said, stepping forward to straighten his tie. He smiled, stealing another precious moment to press another kiss against her lips. ā€œBut nowā€™s the real testā€”act normal with my parents down there.ā€
ā€œAnd pretend I didnā€™t just have my head between their daughterā€™s legs?ā€ he grinned. ā€œOh, baby, you know Iā€™m a parent charmer.ā€
As expected, her parentsā€™ reactions to seeing Vivian walk down the stairs flanked by Andrei was all but priceless. Her father visibly bristled, while her mother looked surprised but pleasedā€”sheā€™d always been a fan of Andrei.
Vivian hugged them both, apologizing for the wait and hoping they didnā€™t think too hard about Andrei descending from her bedroom at 8:30 in the morning. ā€œMom and dad, you remember Andrei.ā€
ā€œMr. and Mrs. Adams, itā€™s so good to see you again,ā€ he greeted quickly, shaking her dadā€™s hand firmly and accepting a confused but gracious hug from her mom. ā€œViv and I had to submit a final analysis for our projectā€”there was a glitch in the system.ā€
A weak lie, but Mrs. Adams was so pleased to see Andrei that she didnā€™t question it.Ā
ā€œAndrei, will you be heading to the convocation center with us?ā€
ā€œIā€™ve got to meet my family, but Iā€™m sure my mother would love to meet you,ā€ Andrei replied with a smile. ā€œWeā€™ll find you after the ceremony?ā€
Vivian nodded, sending Andrei off with a smile and a ā€œsee you soon,ā€ followed shortly by an eyebrow raise from her mother once the door was closed.Ā
The ceremony itself was dull, but the day was a whirlwind nonetheless: many photos with friends and family (including a long-awaited introduction between the Svechnikovs and the Adamses), a boozy brunch with Alpha Zeta seniors and families, followed by a reminiscent stroll through campus, and finally a nice dinner with her family. Before Vivian knew it, it was 11pm and she was at the bar with her friends, taking celebratory shots that burned her throat. Vivian was happy, but something was missing.
And then that something came walking in, a smile on his face when he easily located her amongst the crowd. The dimple sheā€™d always loved stood out, warmth flooding her body as he weaved his way through the throng of people toward her.Ā
ā€œHi,ā€ she said, as if their earlier confessions left undiscussed made her suddenly shy around him.
ā€œHi,ā€ he said back, mocking her a little bit with a playful smile.Ā
There was an elephant in the roomā€”two elephants, reallyā€”crammed into the dimly lit room with 80ā€™s music blaring over the speakers, but a packed bar full of fresh college graduates was hardly the place to address them.Ā
ā€œYou want to get out of here?ā€ he asked quietly, jerking his head toward the door.Ā
Vivian didnā€™t have the words to describe just how badly she wanted that, instead nodding with a smile. He matched hers, following her out and completing an Irish Goodbye without a second thought.
The Uber ride back to her apartment was quiet save for the song playing softly on the radio, Vivianā€™s thigh pressed against Andreiā€™s in the backseat. His hand found hers silently, lacing their fingers in a gesture that went far beyond comfort in a dark car.
I saw you last night and got that old feeling When you came in sight, I got that old feeling The moment that you danced by, I felt a thrill And when you caught my eye, my heart stood still
Once again I seemed to feel that old yearning Then I knew the spark of love was still burning There'll be no new romance for me, it's foolish to start For that old, that old feeling is still in my heart
It felt like fate, and maybe it was, Frank Sinatraā€™s soothing voice warbling through the speakers about a love rekindled. Andrei hummed the same to her, softly, in the darkness of her bedroom as he took his time undressing her, unveiling each inch of her skin like it was brand new to him.Ā
Strong arms held her close as he laid her back against the bed, settling his body over hers before kissing her deeply. His tongue sought out her own, his hands running over her exposed skin as if he needed to re-commit it to memory. Their position was familiar, the same one they were in just over 12 hours prior, but the weight between them was much, much different.
This time, Vivianā€™s hands found Andreiā€™s slacks, palming the bulge she met with fervor and savoring the groan that left his throat. Encouraged and eager to produce that sound again, she dipped her hand beneath his waistband and wrapped her fingers around him, stroking him lightly.
ā€œViv,ā€ he grunted, nose trailing along her jawline as he held himself upā€”barely. ā€œNeedā€”need to be in you.ā€
She agreed wholeheartedly, helping Andrei shuck his pants down his legs, joining her clothes on the floor. It was their first time being completely bare together in years, and though she shouldnā€™t have been surprised, Vivian was in awe of him, a sculpted Russian god in her bed.Ā
Andreiā€™s hands ran down her thighs, hoisting each of them over his hips as he settled between her legs. To slow down the moment, he pressed his forehead against hers, eyes gazing into her own before he kissed her deeply. Vivian could feel him, throbbing, bumping against the inside of her thighs, brushing against her core where she, too, was desperate to have him.
ā€œAndrei,ā€ she murmured softly against his lips, encouragement spoken in just a sigh of his name.Ā
She didnā€™t want him to stop touching her, whining reluctantly when he sacrificed a few moments to part his hands from her skin in favor of guiding his length toward her. Vivian had no breath left in her lungs when he finally pushed in, slowly, his considerable girth something she was no longer used to accommodating. Andrei stilled, telling himself it was so she could adjust; in reality, he needed the time just as much, fearful of busting his load far, far too early.Ā
No, Andrei wanted to savor this, to enjoy it. Though heā€™d had many partners since Vivian, none of them felt quite the way she did, squeezed him quite the way her perfect cunt did, made his balls tighten when she moaned out his name the way she didā€”but he hadnā€™t realized how much he missed her until that moment. Her skin against his lit him on fire from the inside out, and he was sure it was because of more than her body that he wanted to taste every inch of.
Andrei stretched her entirely, the feeling so incredibly delicious that all thought was absent from Vivianā€™s brain. All she could do was hold onto him, her hands caressing the skin of his arms, his shoulders, his back, her legs wrapped tightly around him as his hips dipped against hers. He was steady in his rhythm, patient, like he was following a beat only he could hear.Ā
When his lips found hers again, he drank in the moans that she offered, tugging her up toward him until they were seated and she was straddling him, unable to get close enough. His hands on her hips encouraged her to move, to drive herself toward the high she desperately sought, that he could feel in the flutter of her heat around him. With her head buried in the crook of Andreiā€™s thick neck, Vivian cried out as she came, her vision going fuzzy as the climax hit her like a freight train.
Andreiā€™s arms wrapped tightly around her, holding her closely as he, too, met his end, spilling into her waiting core with a grunt. His body was tingling, as was Vivianā€™s, but he couldnā€™t stop himself from kissing her again, doing his best to pour the love that had been forgotten for the last two years back into her.
ā€œYouā€™re so beautiful,ā€ he murmured, moments later when he was lying beside her, admiring the way her body looked wrapped in the sheet, pressed against his frame. The feeling of her, snug in his arms, made everything feel right in the world.Ā
Vivian smiled, shy, burying her face against his chest in embarrassment. He nudged her with his shoulder, adding for emphasis, ā€œYou are.ā€
ā€œDreiā€¦ā€
The old nickname fell from her lips without her even realizing, familiar and warm in so many ways. Andrei smiled at it, liking the way it felt.Ā
Silence fell between them, comfortable as they basked in the glorious haze. Then, Vivianā€™s voice spoke quietly in the darkness of her room. ā€œI donā€™t want this to end.ā€
ā€œWhat do you mean?ā€Ā
ā€œWeā€™re both leaving BU soon,ā€ Vivian said, not ready to burst their bubble yet, but the words just kept coming out. ā€œAnd I donā€™t know where Iā€™m going yet, but I have offers in San Francisco and New York, and youā€™re going to be this hot shot NHL star, and Iā€™m sure your DMā€™s are already full of pretty girls andā€“ā€
ā€œViv,ā€ he interrupted her softly. ā€œI donā€™t care about that. I want to be with you.ā€
ā€œButā€¦ I applied to jobs all over the place,ā€ she fretted, hating herself for letting her anxiety ruin their perfect, blissful moment.Ā
Andrei paused, nudging her jaw with a finger to encourage her to meet his eyes. ā€œI lost you once; Iā€™m not going to do it again. I want this, and if you do too, then weā€™ll make it work. Okay?ā€
ā€œYou mean that?ā€
ā€œEto vsegda byl ty, Viv. The girl in my story has always been you.ā€
ā€“
The next morning, the light streaming through the windows woke Vivian up, stretching her deliciously sore muscles before she registered the large, warm body beside her. She took a moment to watch Andrei sleep, his chest gently rising and falling with his breath, features so relaxed and peaceful.Ā
When she rolled over to glance at her phone, she saw the notification for an unread email. The sound of her gasp woke Andrei up, startled at the sound.
ā€œWhat? Are you okaā€“ what happened?ā€ he spluttered, taking in her wide eyes.
Instead of speaking, Vivian simply turned her phone toward him to show him what had tears brimming in her eyes: An offer letter for a Financial Analyst position with CyberComm.
ā€œThatā€™s great, Viv,ā€ he smiled. ā€œCongratulations.ā€
ā€œAndrei,ā€ Vivian said, sensing that he didnā€™t quite put it together. ā€œCyberComm has an office in Charlotte.ā€
ā€œOh.ā€
ā€œCharlotte is in North Carolina.ā€
ā€œOh.ā€Ā
Her eyebrows raised, watching the realization dawn on Andreiā€™s face as he processed. ā€œYouā€™re moving to North Carolina?ā€
ā€œWeā€™re moving to North Carolina.ā€
Vivian didnā€™t know if she should call it fate, chance, coincidence, but five months later when she watched Andrei debut in his first ever NHL game, a Svechnikov jersey proud on her shoulders, she decided it was best to call it the mystery of love.

hi! i see all of your anti war stuff in here, and i was wondering your stance on the israel-Palestine war as i see that itā€™s mostly anti world war things that you put here. i personally are very very pro Palestine
I always will be next to the innocent people... Those kids, women, men, old people who haven't any kind of bad intention... Just to live. I don't care where they from... I will expose all murderers no matter the flag they think they defend...
In last century.. Syria... Yemen... Libanne... Ukraine... Haiti... Russia... Also Vietnam, Korea, England, Germany, France, Spain, Italy ,Almost all Africa, India, also South America... And I forgot the other half of the world. History always repeat cause we didn't remember.
I'm pro the milion of victims who just wanna live and I will point and hate all murderers. No matter if they think "is their job" , no matter if they are presidents, no matter who they are. Words kill, ideologies kill, religion kill, armies kill, nations kill...
And ALWAYS those who suffer the most are poor people who live in poverty and have to wait their murder.
About Israel and Palestine , both countries had milion of murdered innocent people. Ofc Palestine have more victims cause they are more poor than Israel... But the fact is that this isn't a football match where we have to choose a team...
That's what frustrate me.. people don't understand this... And claim revenge, hate and still put the trigger against poor people... We could solve all conflicts tomorrow, turning the guns and the hate against those who maintain the conflicts and don't wanna solve cause suffering, dead and desperation makes BILIONS of dollars everyday...
What a nasty world... We have fail as a specie... As a society šŸ˜”
I hope when WW3 ends and the world cries again, a new wave of hippies will try again to change the world. And I will be there if any murderer with some stupid flag kill me ofc ā˜®ļøšŸ’ŸāœŒļø

Mozambique's rubies: A blessing or a curse? | DW Documentary
youtube
In Mozambique,Ā agricultureĀ is the mainstay of the economy and the country has a great potential for growth in the sector. Agriculture employs more than 80 percent of theĀ labour forceĀ and providesĀ livelihoodsĀ to the vast majority of over 23 million inhabitants. Agriculture contributed 31.5 percent of theĀ GDPĀ in 2009, while commerce and services accounted for 44.9 percent. By contrast, 20 percent of the total export value in 2009 originated from the agriculture sector, mostly through the export of fish (mainly shrimps and prawns),Ā timber,Ā copra,Ā cashewĀ nuts andĀ citrus,Ā cotton,Ā coconuts,Ā teaĀ andĀ tobacco.[14]
There are large mineral deposits, but exploration has been constrained by the civil war (1977ā€“1992) and poor infrastructure. TheĀ World BankĀ has estimated that there was the potential for exports worth US$200m by 2005 ā€“ in the late 1990s they totaled US$3.6m, some 1% of total exports, and a contribution of less than 2% of GDP. Minerals currently being mined include marble, bentonite, coal, gold, bauxite, granite, titanium and gemstones. Illegal exports from artisanal production are estimated at US$50 million.[original research?]
Mozambique exported its first batch of coal in 2011 and expects to become the world's largest coal exporter. It is also spending about US$50 billion in infrastructure projects to access its coal reserves. Mozambique is reported to have the fourth largest reserves of natural gas in the world, after Russia, Iran, and Qatar.[20]
TheĀ Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral[1]Ā (Portuguese:Ā Catedral Metropolitana de Nossa Senhora do RosĆ”rio) also calledĀ Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, is located inĀ Beira,[2][3]Ā a town in the African country ofĀ Mozambique[4]Ā and is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Beira.
Beira is where the Pungwe River meets the Indian Ocean. It is the fourth-largest city by population in Mozambique, after Maputo, Matola and Nampula. Beira had a population of 397,368 in 1997, which grew to 530,604 in 2019. A coastal city, it holds the regionally significant Port of Beira, which acts as a gateway for both the central interior portion of the country as well as the land-locked nations of Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi.
A marina (from Spanish [maĖˆÉ¾ina], Portuguese [mɐĖˆÉ¾inɐ] and Italian [maĖˆriĖna]: "related to the sea") is a dock or basin with moorings and supplies for yachts and small boats. A marina differs from a port in that a marina does not handle large passenger ships or cargo from freighters.
A fishmonger (historically fishwife for female practitioners) is someone who sells raw fish and seafood. Fishmongers can be wholesalers or retailers and are trained at selecting and purchasing, handling, gutting, boning, filleting, displaying, merchandising and selling their product. In some countries modern supermarkets are replacing fishmongers who operate in shops or fish markets.

Gross national product (GNP) GNP is related to another important economic measure called gross domestic product (GDP), which takes into account all output produced within a country's borders regardless of who owns the means of production. GNP starts with GDP, adds residents' investment income from overseas investments, and subtracts foreign residents' investment income earned within a country. Whilst GDP measures the total value of goods and services produced within a country's borders, GNP focuses on the income generated by its residents, regardless of their location.
Gross National Income (GNI) is the total amount of money earned by a nation's people and businesses. It is used to measure and track a nation's wealth from year to year. The number includes the nation's gross domestic product (GDP) plus the income it receives from overseas sources.

Supporting Striker (Inverted Winger)
Central Winger (False 10)
Overlapping Run/Defensive Winger (Half-winger)
An inverted winger is a modern tactical development of the traditional winger position. Most wingers are assigned to either side of the field based on their footedness, with right-footed players on the right and left-footed players on the left.[65] This assumes that assigning a player to their natural side ensures a more powerful cross as well as greater ball protection along the touch-lines. However, when the position is inverted and a winger instead plays inside-out on the opposite flank (i.e., a right-footed player as a left inverted winger), they effectively become supporting strikers and primarily assume a role in the attack.[66]
The "false 10" or "central winger"[55] is a type of midfielder, which differs from the trequartista. Much like the "false 9", their specificity lies in the fact that, although they seemingly play as an attacking midfielder on paper, unlike a traditional playmaker who stays behind the striker in the centre of the pitch, the false 10's goal is to move out of position and drift wide when in possession of the ball to help both the wingers and fullbacks to overload the flanks. This means two problems for the opposing midfielders: either they let the false 10 drift wide, and their presence, along with both the winger and the fullback, creates a three-on-two player advantage out wide; or they follow the false 10, but leave space in the centre of the pitch for wingers or onrushing midfielders to exploit. False 10s are usually traditional wingers who are told to play in the centre of the pitch, and their natural way of playing makes them drift wide and look to provide deliveries into the box for teammates.Ā
In Italian football, the term mezzala (literally "half-winger" in Italian) is used to describe the position of the one or two central midfielders who play on either side of a holding midfielder and/or playmaker. The term was initially applied to the role of an inside forward in the WM and Metodo formations in Italian, but later described a specific type of central midfielder. The mezzala is often a quick and hard-working attack-minded midfielder, with good skills and noted offensive capabilities, as well as a tendency to make overlapping attacking runs, but also a player who participates in the defensive aspect of the game, and who can give width to a team by drifting out wide; as such, the term can be applied to several different roles.
On occasion, the false-10 can also function in a different manner alongside a false-9, usually in a 4ā€“6ā€“0 formation. Midfield collective of False 9, False 10, Box to Box, Holding, Half Winger, Attacking, Defensive.
Thiago Mottaā€™s ā€˜Super Offensiveā€™ 2-7-2 Formation Explained: Instead of the traditional way of looking at a tactical set-up horizontally, the Brazil-born manager instead split the field into three vertical lanes. This means he effectively has seven players in the central channel with two players out wide on each flank.Ā

The language emerged from contact between French settlers and enslaved Africans during the Atlantic slave trade in the French colony of Saint-Domingue (now Haiti) in the 17th and 18th centuries. Although its vocabulary largely derives from 18th-century French, its grammar is that of a West African Volta-Congo language branch, particularly the Fongbe and Igbo languages.

Go Go Music Influenced, Eurphoric Trance Chord Progression Melody, Progressive House and Drum n' Bass Percussion-808 Call and Response Staccato Polyrhythm or Layered Kick and Punch 808.
In his 1972 study of French lute music, scholar Wallace Rave compiled a list of features he believed to be characteristic of style brisƩ. Rave's list included the following: the avoidance of textural pattern and regularity in part writing; arpeggiated chord textures with irregular distribution of individual notes of the chord; ambiguous melodic lines; rhythmic displacement of notes within a melodic line; octave changes within melodic line; irregular phrase lengths.
Have the Snare and Kick say, "Hi, How are you?" And the 808 say, "I am good thanks for asking.ā€
Use progressive House to push the Drums Conversation to either Fast and Punchy for Happy or Slow and Deep for Sad.
In technical terms, "go-go's essential beat is characterized by a five through four syncopated rhythm that is underscored prominently by the bass drum and snare drum, and the hi-hat... [and] is ornamented by the other percussion instruments, especially by the conga drums, rototoms, and hand-held cowbells."[5]
Polyrhythm: In music, a cross-beat or cross-rhythm is a specific form of polyrhythm. The term cross rhythm was introduced in 1934 by the musicologist Arthur Morris Jones (1889ā€“1980). It refers to a situation where the rhythmic conflict found in polyrhythms is the basis of an entire musical piece.[1]
Four-on-the-floor (or four-to-the-floor) is a rhythm used primarily in dance genres such as disco and electronic dance music. It is a steady, uniformly accented beat in 4. 4 time in which the bass drum is hit on every beat (1, 2, 3, 4).[1] This was popularized in the disco music of the 1970s[2] and the term four-on-the-floor was widely used in that era, since the beat was played with the pedal-operated, drum-kit bass drum.[3][4] (Punch 808-Kick)
Polyrhythm 4 on the Floor examples 2:4 or 5:4
Hard trance is often characterized by strong, hard (or even downpitch) kicks, fully resonant basses and an increased amount of reverberation applied to the main beat. Melodies vary from 140 to 180 BPMs and it can feature plain instrumental sound in early compositions, with the latter ones tending to implement side-chaining techniques of progressive on digital synthesizers.

Commercialism is the application of both manufacturing and consumption towards personal usage, or the practices, methods, aims, and distribution of products in a free market geared toward generating a profit.
Commercial art is art created for advertising or marketing purposes. Commercial artists are hired by clients to create images and logos that sell products. Unlike works of fine art that convey an artist's personal expression, commercial art must address the client's goals.
The word 'Commercial' is defined as follows: Concerned with or engaged in commerce. Commerce is the exchange of goods or services among two or more parties.
Craftsmen are committed to the medium, not to self-expression. Artists are committed to their self-expression, not the medium.
A medium of exchange is an intermediary instrument and system used to facilitate the purchase and sale of goods and services between parties.

IMPERIALISM, THE HIGHEST STAGE OF CAPITALISM
Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism,[1] originally published as Imperialism, the Newest Stage of Capitalism,[2][3] is a book written by Vladimir Lenin in 1916 and published in 1917. It describes the formation of oligopoly, by the interlacing of bank and industrial capital, in order to create a financial oligarchy, and explains the function of financial capital in generating profits from the exploitation colonialism inherent to imperialism, as the final stage of capitalism. The essay synthesises Lenin's developments of Karl Marx's theories of political economy in Das Kapital (1867).[4]

A clay-court specialist is a tennis player who excels on clay courts, more than on any other surface.
Due in part to advances in racquet technology, current clay-court specialists are known for employing long, winding groundstrokes that generate heavy topspin; such strokes are less effective on faster surfaces on which the balls do not bounce as high. Clay-court specialists tend to slide more effectively on clay than other players. Many of them are also very adept at hitting the drop shot, which can be effective because rallies on clay courts often leave players pushed far beyond the baseline. Additionally, the slow, long rallies require a great degree of mental focus and physical stamina.
CASAPIANOS MARTYROLOGY ORDER (CATHOLIC COUNTER-REFORMATION)
The Casa Pia is a Portuguese institution founded by Maria I, known as A Pia ("Mary the Pious"), and organized by Police Intendant Pina Manique in 1780, following the social disarray of the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. For almost three centuries, thousands of young boys and girls were raised by Casa Pia, including many public personalities, called casapianos. Casa Pia is Portugal's largest educational institution dedicated to helping youngsters in risk of social exclusion or without parental support. The organisation is composed of ten schools and enrolls approximately 4700 students. In addition to standard schooling, the organisation also provides boarding for children in need. It strives to enable these youngsters to become healthy and successful members of society, by developing intellectual, manual, and physical traits, in an environment promoting spiritual, moral, and religious values. The institution is proud to have had amongst its students many outstanding Portuguese personalities, including politicians, journalists, and artists. A martyrology is a catalogue or list of martyrs and other saints and beati arranged in the calendar order of their anniversaries or feasts. Local martyrologies record exclusively the custom of a particular Church. Local lists were enriched by names borrowed from neighbouring churches.[1] Consolidation occurred, by the combination of several local martyrologies, with or without borrowings from literary sources.
The Canons Regular of St. Augustine are priests who live in community under a rule (Latin: regula and ĪŗĪ±Ī½ĻŽĪ½, kanon, in Greek) and are generally organised into religious orders, differing from both secular canons and other forms of religious life, such as clerics regular, designated by a partly similar terminology. As religious communities, they have laybrothers as part of the community.
Clerics regular are clerics (mostly priests) who are members of a religious order under a rule of life (regular). Clerics regular differ from canons regular in that they devote themselves more to pastoral care, in place of an obligation to the praying of the Liturgy of the Hours in common, and have fewer observances in their rule of life.
Lay brother is a largely extinct term referring to religious brothers, particularly in the Catholic Church, who focused upon manual service and secular matters, and were distinguished from choir monks or friars in that they did not pray in choir, and from clerics, in that they were not in possession of (or preparing for) holy orders.[1][2][3][4][5]
In female religious institutes, the equivalent role is the lay sister. Lay brothers were originally created to allow those who were skilled in particular crafts or did not have the required education to study for holy orders to participate in and contribute to the life of a religious order.
Lay brothers were found in many religious orders. Drawn from the working classes, they were pious and hardworking people, who though unable to achieve the education needed to receive holy orders, were still drawn to religious life and were able to contribute to the order through their skills. Some were skilled in artistic handicrafts, others functioned as administrators of the orders' material assets. In particular, the lay brothers of the Cistercians were skilled in agriculture, and have been credited for the tilling of fertile farmland.[1]
Lay sisters were found in most of the orders of women, and their origin, like that of the lay brothers, is to be found in the necessity of providing the choir nuns with more time for the Office and study, as well as creating the opportunity for the illiterate to join the religious life. They, too, wore a habit different from those of the choir sisters, and their required daily prayers consisted of prayers such as the Little Office or a certain number of Paters.[1]
All canons regular are to be distinguished from secular canons who belong to a resident group of priests but who do not take public vows and are not governed in whatever elements of life they lead in common by a historical rule. One obvious place where such groups of priests are required is at a cathedral, where there were many Masses to celebrate and the Divine Office to be prayed together in community.
In modern astrology, Mars is the primary native ruler of the first house. Traditionally however, Mars ruled both the third and tenth houses, and had its joy in the fifth house. While Venus tends to the overall relationship atmosphere, Mars is the passionate impulse and action, the masculine aspect, discipline, willpower and stamina.
Mars rules over Tuesday and in Romance languages the word for Tuesday often resembles Mars (in Romanian, marți, in Spanish, martes, in French, mardi and in Italian "martedƬ"). The English "Tuesday" is a modernised form of "Tyr's Day", Tyr being the Germanic analogue to Mars. Dante Alighieri associated Mars with the liberal art of arithmetic. In Chinese astrology, Mars is ruled by the element fire, which is passionate, energetic and adventurous.
According to John Clements, the term martial arts itself is derived from an older Latin term meaning "arts of Mars", the Roman god of war, and was used to refer to the combat systems of Europe (European martial arts) as early as the 1550s
A religious congregation is a type of religious institute in the Catholic Church. They are legally distinguished from religious orders ā€“ the other major type of religious institute ā€“ in that members take simple vows, whereas members of religious orders take solemn vows.
In theĀ Catholic Church, aĀ religious orderĀ is a community ofĀ consecrated lifeĀ with members that professĀ solemn vows. They are classed as a type ofĀ religious institute.[1]

Material religion is a framework used by scholars of religion to examine the interaction between religion and material culture. It focuses on the place of objects, images, spaces, and buildings in religious communities. The framework has been promoted by scholars such as Birgit Meyer, Sally Promey, S. Brent Plate, David Morgan, etc.
Physiocracy (French: physiocratie; from the Greek for "government of nature") is an economic theory developed by a group of 18th-century Age of Enlightenment French economists who believed that the wealth of nations derived solely from the value of "land agriculture" or "land development" and that agricultural products should be highly priced.[1] Their theories originated in France and were most popular during the second half of the 18th century. Physiocracy became one of the first well-developed theories of economics.
The Bible typically describes the Heavenly host as being made up of angels, and gives several descriptions of angels in military terms, such as their encampment (Genesis 32:1ā€“2), command structure (Psalms 91:11ā€“12; Matt.13:41; Rev.7:2), and participation in combat (Job 19:12; Rev.12:7). Other passages indicate other entities make up the divine army, namely stars (Judges 5:20, Isaiah 40:26).[1][full citation needed] In Christian theology, the heavenly host participate in the war in Heaven.
The doctrine or theory of immanence holds that the divine encompasses or is manifested in the material world. It is held by some philosophical and metaphysical theories of divine presence. Immanence is usually applied in monotheistic, pantheistic, pandeistic, or panentheistic faiths to suggest that the spiritual world permeates the mundane.
The Dionysian Mysteries were a ritual of ancient Greece and Rome which sometimes used intoxicants and other trance-inducing techniques (like dance and music) to remove inhibitions and social constraints, liberating the individual to return to a natural state.Ā
Religious nationalism can be understood in a number of ways, such as nationalism as a religion itself, a position articulated by Carlton Hayes in his text Nationalism: A Religion, or as the relationship of nationalism to a particular religious belief, dogma, ideology, or affiliation. This relationship can be broken down into two aspects: the politicisation of religion and the influence of religion on politics.
Dioceses ruled by an archbishop are commonly referred to as archdioceses; most are metropolitan sees, being placed at the head of an ecclesiastical province. In the Catholic Church, some are suffragans of a metropolitan see or are directly subject to the Holy See.
The body of light, sometimes called the 'astral body'[a] or the 'subtle body,'[b] is a "quasi material"[1] aspect of the human body, being neither solely physical nor solely spiritual, posited by a number of philosophers, and elaborated on according to various esoteric, occult, and mystical teachings. Other terms used for this body include body of glory,[2] spirit-body, luciform body, augoeides ('radiant body'), astroeides ('starry or sidereal body'), and celestial body.[3] The concept derives from the philosophy of Plato: the word 'astral' means 'of the stars'; thus the astral plane consists of the Seven Heavens of the classical planets. The idea is rooted in common worldwide religious accounts of the afterlife[4] in which the soul's journey or "ascent" is described in such terms as "an ecstatic, mystical or out-of body experience, wherein the spiritual traveller leaves the physical body and travels in their body of light into 'higher' realms."[5]
The canon law of the Catholic Church (from Latin ius canonicum[1]) is "how the Church organizes and governs herself".[2] It is the system of laws and ecclesiastical legal principles made and enforced by the hierarchical authorities of the Catholic Church to regulate its external organization and government and to order and direct the activities of Catholics toward the mission of the Church.
An institute of consecrated life is an association of faithful in the Catholic Church canonically erected by competent church authorities to enable men or women who publicly profess the evangelical counsels by religious vows or other sacred bonds "through the charity to which these counsels lead to be joined to the Church and its mystery in a special way".[1] They are defined in the 1983 Code of Canon Law under canons 573ā€“730. The Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life has ecclesial oversight of institutes of consecrated life.[2]
In Christianity, the three evangelical counsels, or counsels of perfection, are chastity (NEVER), poverty (or perfect charity), and obedience (RECKLESS ABANDONMENT).[1] As stated by Jesus in the canonical gospels,[2] they are counsels for those who desire to become "perfect" (Ļ„ĪµĪ»ĪµĪ¹ĪæĻ‚, teleios).[3][4] The Catholic Church interprets this to mean that they are not binding upon all, and hence not necessary conditions to attain eternal life (heaven), but that they are "acts of supererogation", "over and above" the minimum stipulated in the biblical commandments.[5][6]
Catholics who have made a public profession to order their lives by the evangelical counsels, and confirmed this by public vows before their competent church authority (the act of religious commitment known as a profession), are recognised as members of the consecrated life.
The Council of Trent (Latin: Concilium Tridentinum), held between 1545 and 1563 in Trent (or Trento), now in northern Italy, was the 19th ecumenical council of the Catholic Church. Prompted by the Protestant Reformation at the time, it has been described as the embodiment of the Counter-Reformation. The Council issued key statements and clarifications of the Church's doctrine and teachings, including scripture, the biblical canon, sacred tradition, original sin, justification, salvation, the sacraments, the Mass, and the veneration of saints[4] and also issued condemnations of what it defined to be heresies committed by proponents of Protestantism. The consequences of the Council were also significant with regard to the Church's liturgy and censorship.
Initiated in part to address the challenges of the Protestant Reformations,[3] the Counter-Reformation was a comprehensive effort arising from the decrees of the Council of Trent. The effort produced apologetic and polemical documents, heresy trials, anti-corruption efforts, spiritual movements, the promotion of new religious orders, and the flourishing of new art and musical styles.Ā
Tradwave is a Catholic artistic style using synthwave and vaporwave art to promote traditional catholicism. Tradwave usually uses traditional catholic paintings, sculptures, or photographs of saints, given with vaporwave effects, often with a bible verse or quote about catholicism. The art usually tries to convey a resurrection of catholic spirituality in the modern atheist world. Figures often depicted in Tradwave art include Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, Ven. Fulton Sheen, Cardinal Robert Sarah, and Mother Angelica.
Tradwave music often takes the form of two main styles. One of them is catholic hymns with vaporwave effects and traditional Vaporwave/Lo-Fi music. It can also have quotes from modern prolific Catholic figures, such as Ven. The other theme is Fulton Sheen and Cardinal Robert Sarah.
Heavenly Virtues: Another phrase to describe this obedience to the voice is ā€œreckless abandon.ā€ It simply means that we let God do what God wants to do through us. It means if He tells us to do something or say somethingā€”we do it.
Intercession or intercessory prayer is the act of praying to a deity on behalf of others, or asking a saint in heaven to pray on behalf of oneself or for others. Intercession of the Saints is a Christian doctrine that maintains that saints can intercede for others. To intercede is to go or come between two parties, to plead before one of them on behalf of the other. In ecclesiastical usage both words are taken in the sense of the intervention primarily of Christ, and secondarily of the Blessed Virgin and the angels and saints, on behalf of men.[2] The doctrine is held by the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox Churches, the Assyrian Church of the East, the Oriental Orthodox churches , and some Lutherans and Anglicans (chiefly those of Evangelical Catholic or Anglo-Catholic churchmanship, respectively).[3] The practice of asking saints for their intercession can be found in Christian writings from the 3rd century onwards.[4][5][6] Catholic doctrine supports intercessory prayer to saints. This practice is an application of the doctrine of the Communion of saints. Some of the early basis for this was the belief that martyrs passed immediately into the presence of God and could obtain graces and blessings for others, which naturally and immediately led to their direct invocation. A further reinforcement was derived from the cult of the angels which, while pre-Christian in its origin, was heartily embraced by the faithful of the sub-Apostolic age. The doctrine of intercession and invocation was set forth by the Council of Trent, which teaches that "... the saints who reign together with Christ offer up their own prayers to God for men. It is good and useful suppliantly to invoke them, and to have recourse to their prayers, aid, and help for obtaining benefits from God, through His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, Who alone is our Redeemer and Saviour".[10] Intercessory prayer to saintly persons who have not yet been beatified can also practiced by individuals, and evidence of miracles produced as a result of such prayer is very commonly produced during the formal process of beatification and canonization.
In short, the gun-toting angel was a multifaceted metaphor. ā€œIt undoubtedly also reflected the Catholic Counter-Reformation militaristic rhetoric,ā€ wrote Donahue-Wallace, ā€œwhich promoted the church as an army and heavenly beings as its soldiers.ā€ These "Harquebusier Angels" or "Arcabuceros" are full-length depictions of winged angels, elaborately dressed, and carrying matchlock guns (harquebuses).
The related term astrolatry usually implies polytheism. In anthropological literature these systems of practice may be referred to as astral cults.
A friar is a member of one of the mendicant orders in the Roman Catholic Church. There are also friars outside of the Roman Catholic Church, such as within the Anglican Communion. The term, first used in the 12th or 13th century, distinguishes the mendicants' itinerant apostolic character, exercised broadly under the jurisdiction of a superior general, from the older monastic orders' allegiance to a single monastery formalized by their vow of stability. A friar may be in holy orders or be a non-ordained brother. The most significant orders of friars are the Dominicans, Franciscans, Augustinians, and Carmelites.[1]
Romans 8:31; Exploring Biblical Imagery is one of the most important keys to interpreting and gaining a deeper understanding of the Bible. The Bible often communicates truth to us through images and patterns.
Throughout history, armed priests or soldier priests have been recorded. Distinguished from military chaplains, who are non-combatants that provided spiritual guidance to service personnel and associated civilians, these priests took up arms and fought in conflicts as combatants. The term warrior priests or war priests is usually used for armed priests in Antiquity and the Middle Ages, and of historical tribes.
Slang: In Romans 8:5-8, Paul presents a compelling contrast between living according to the flesh and living according to the Spirit. The flesh, with its disordered desires and rebellion against God, leads only to spiritual desolation. Martyr, one who voluntarily suffers death rather than deny their religion by words or deeds; such action is afforded special, institutionalized recognition in most major religions of the world. The term may also refer to anyone who sacrifices their life or something of great value for the sake of principle. A religious allusion is a brief reference to a person, event, place, or phrase from religious texts or traditions, without describing them in detail. 5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to Godā€™s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. Martyr/Romans 8 Allusion Slang.
The Roman Martyrology is an official liturgical book of the Catholic Church, with ancient origins, that lists the martyrs, confessors, virgins, and other saints, each on his or her dies natalis, or birthday into eternal life, as well as major feasts of Our Lord and Our Lady.
The Roman Martyrology is also central to the Divine Office or Liturgy of the Hoursā€”a daily set of prayers marking the hours of each day and sanctifying it with worship. During the Office of Readings, specific entries from the martyrology are recited to inform and inspire those in prayer.
Romeu e Julieta (Casapianos Order 1996 Adaptation 18+ Romance Thriller)
While it retains the original Shakespearean dialogue, the film represents the Montagues and the Capulets as warring mafia empires (with legitimate business fronts) and the Capulets were "a Latin family, sort of,"[15] played by Latin-American and Italian actors.[16] It is set in contemporary United States, where swords are replaced by guns[17] (with model names such as "Dagger", "Sword", and "Rapier"), and with a FedEx-style overnight delivery service called "Post Haste".[18] Shakespeare and Impure Aesthetics explores ideas about art implicit in Shakespeare's plays and defines specific Shakespearean aesthetic practices in his use of desire, death and mourning as resources for art. In fiction, a subplot or side story is a secondary strand of the plot that is a supporting side story for any story or for the main plot. Subplots may connect to main plots, in either time and place or thematic significance. Subplots often involve supporting characters, those besides the protagonist or antagonist. Subplots may also intertwine with the main plot at some point in a story.[1]
THE ENCYCLICAL PASSIONARIES ABOUT YHVH CASAPIANOS (MARTYROLOGY BIBLE)
Specifically, the royal psalms deal with the spiritual role of kings in the worship of Yahweh. Aside from that single qualification, there is nothing else which specifically links the ten psalms. Each of the psalms make explicit references to their subject, the king. Royal (messianic) psalms deal with the king as God's anointed or chosen one. Many are prayers for the wisdom of the king, his long life or success in battle. Some are prophetic in nature in that they also point to the ideal future king, the Messiah or the King of kings. Simple martyrologies only enumerate names. Historical martyrologies, also sometimes called passionaries, also include stories or biographical details. (Reckless Abandonment; Mars Shamanism and Casa Pia Wing Transfer Invocation)
The term "revolutionary martyr" usually relates to those dying inĀ revolutionaryĀ struggle.[50][51]Ā During the 20th century, the concept was developed in particular in the culture and propaganda of communist or socialist revolutions, although it was and is also used in relation to nationalist revolutions. In the martyrdom narrative of the remembering community, this refusal to comply with the presented demands results in the punishment or execution of an individual by an oppressor. Accordingly, the status of the 'martyr' can be considered a posthumous title as a reward for those who are considered worthy of the concept of martyrdom by the living, regardless of any attempts by the deceased to control how they will be remembered in advance.[1] Insofar, the martyr is a relational figure of a society's boundary work that is produced by collective memory.[2] Originally applied only to those who suffered for their religious beliefs, the term has come to be used in connection with people killed for a political cause. (Armed Friars and The War for Central Africa between Casapianos and The French; The Fall of Yoruba for BembĆ©; Arcubusier Angels in Africa)
The Metal Ages is a term for the period of human civilization beginning about 6,000 years ago during which metallurgy rapidly advanced, and human populations started using metals such as copper, tin, bronze and finally iron to make tools and weapons. By heating and shaping metals in hot furnaces, humanity also learned to use precious metals such as gold and silver to make intricate ornaments.[1][2] With these technological adaptions, human society became more productive and human settlements became larger and more prosperous, but also more violent.[3] The Metal Ages are divided into three stages: the Copper Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age.[1][2] (Calcium Age of Mozambique)
Religious practices in ancient Greece encompassed a collection of beliefs, rituals, and mythology, in the form of both popular public religion and cult practices. The application of the modern concept of "religion" to ancient cultures has been questioned as anachronistic.[1] The ancient Greeks did not have a word for 'religion' in the modern sense. Likewise, no Greek writer known to us classifies either the gods or the cult practices into separate 'religions'.[2] Instead, for example, Herodotus speaks of the Hellenes as having "common shrines of the gods and sacrifices, and the same kinds of customs."[3] Various religious festivals were held in ancient Greece. Many were specific only to a particular deity or city-state. Altogether the year in Athens included some 140 days that were religious festivals of some sort, though they varied greatly in importance. (Festival Martyrology)
Gnostic cosmogony generally presents a distinction between a supreme, hidden God and a malevolent lesser divinity (sometimes associated with the biblical deity Yahweh)[1] who is responsible for creating the material universe. Consequently, Gnostics considered material existence flawed or evil, and held the principal element of salvation to be direct knowledge of the hidden divinity, attained via mystical or esoteric insight. Many Gnostic texts deal not in concepts of sin and repentance, but with illusion and enlightenment.[2] Gnostic writings flourished among certain Christian groups in the Mediterranean world around the second century, when the Fathers of the early Church denounced them as heresy.[3]
The original sense of apotheosis relates to religion and is the subject of many works of art. Figuratively "apotheosis" may be used in almost any context for "the deification, glorification, or exaltation of a principle, practice, etc.", so normally attached to an abstraction of some sort.[1] In religion, apotheosis was a feature of many religions in the ancient world, and some that are active today. It requires a belief that there is a possibility of newly-created gods, so a polytheistic belief system. The major modern religions of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism do not allow for this, though many recognise minor sacred categories such as saints (created by a process called canonization). A mural crown (Latin: corona muralis) is a crown or headpiece representing city walls, towers, or fortresses. In classical antiquity, it was an emblem of tutelary deities who watched over a city, and among the Romans a military decoration. Later the mural crown developed into a symbol of European heraldry, mostly for cities and towns, and in the 19th and 20th centuries was used in some republican heraldry. (Mural Crown Wing Transfer)
In religious studies, an ethnic religion is a religion or belief associated with notions of heredity and a particular ethnic group. (CHAMA ROXA)
An illusion is a distortion of the senses, which can reveal how the mind normally organizes and interprets sensory stimulation. Although illusions distort the human perception of reality, they are generally shared by most people.[1] (Sensory Process Sensitivity)
Capricornus is one of theĀ 88 modern constellations, and was also one of the 48Ā constellations listed by the 2ndĀ century astronomerĀ Claudius Ptolemy. Its old astronomical symbol isĀ ļæ¼Ā (ā™‘ļøŽ). Under its modern boundaries it is bordered byĀ Aquila,Ā Sagittarius,Ā Microscopium,Ā Piscis Austrinus, andĀ Aquarius. The constellation is located in an area of sky called theĀ SeaĀ or the Water, consisting of many water-related constellations such as Aquarius,Ā PiscesĀ andĀ Eridanus. It is the smallest constellation in the zodiac. (Men)
Leo Minor is a small and faint constellation in the northern celestial hemisphere. Its name is Latin for "the smaller lion", in contrast to Leo, the larger lion. It lies between the larger and more recognizable Ursa Major to the north and Leo to the south. Leo Minor was not regarded as a separate constellation by classical astronomers; it was designated by Johannes Hevelius in 1687.[2] (Women)
Dancehall is a genre of Jamaican popular music that originated in the late 1970s.[4][5] Initially, dancehall was a more sparse version of reggae than the roots style, which had dominated much of the 1970s.[6][7] In the mid-1980s, digital instrumentation became more prevalent, changing the sound considerably, with digital dancehall (or "ragga") becoming increasingly characterized by faster rhythms. Key elements of dancehall music include its extensive use of Jamaican Patois rather than Jamaican standard English and a focus on the track instrumentals (or "riddims"). Dancehall saw initial mainstream success in Jamaica in the 1980s, and by the 1990s, it became increasingly popular in Jamaican diaspora communities. In the 2000s, dancehall experienced worldwide mainstream success, and by the 2010s, it began to heavily influence the work of established Western artists and producers, which has helped to further bring the genre into the Western music mainstream.[8][9][10] (DOS SANTOS was this first generation of Dancehall Consumers)

A congress is a formal meeting of the representatives of different countries, constituent states, organizations, trade unions, political parties, or other groups.[1] The term originated in Late Middle English to denote an encounter (meeting of adversaries) during battle, from the Latin congressus.
A federation (also called a federal state) is an entity characterized by a union of partially self-governing provinces, states, or other regions under a federal government (federalism). In a federation, the self-governing status of the component states, as well as the division of power between them and the central government, is constitutionally entrenched and may not be altered by a unilateral decision, neither by the component states nor the federal political body without constitutional amendment.

The League was created in order to unify Greek military forces under Macedonian leadership (hegemony) in their combined conquest of the Persian Achaemenid Empire.[5][6][7]
The League was governed by the Hegemon (leader)[21][22][23] (strategos autokrator[24][25] in a military context),[26] the council (Synedrion),[27] and the judges (Dikastai). Delegates of the member-states (Synedroi) were responsible for administering the common affairs of the League. They were summoned and presided over by a committee of presiding officers (Proedroi), chosen by lot in time of peace, and by the Hegemon in time of war.[19] Decrees of the league were issued in Corinth, Athens, Delphi, Olympia and Pydna.[28] The League maintained an army levied from member states in approximate proportion to their size, while Philip established Hellenic garrisons (commanded by phrourarchs, or garrison commanders) in Corinth, Thebes, Pydna[29] and Ambracia.

hi! may i ask you something about this Super League? im confused because im new here. and what about that 1 billion euros for? thank you
Hi, of course šŸ«¶šŸ»
The Super League is a rather complex topic, so I'm gonna give you a short summary and a longer version with the history and stuff under the cut.
In short, the Super League is a proposed football competition for football clubs in Europe that is aimed to rival theĀ UEFA competitions, such as theĀ Champions League,Ā Europa League,Ā and Conference League.
Format (this is the new version they just released):
It would include 64 menā€™s (spread across three leagues) and 32 womenā€™s teams (spread across two leagues) playing midweek games in a league system across Europe. All clubs would play in groups of 8 ā€“ home and away ā€“ resulting in a guaranteed minimum of 14 matches per year. At the end of the season, a knockout stage of 8 clubs will be played in each league to determine the league champions. There would also be annual promotion and relegation between the three/ two leagues. The idea is that it would not interfere with domestic leagues.
History:
Proposals of Super Leagues in European football have been around for decades with the earliest ideas dating back to 1968. There were attempts to create a 'Super League' in 1987 and 1990 but they were abandoned after UEFA and FIFA threatened to sanction all involved clubs. In 2009, Florentino PĆ©rez (president of Real Madrid) began planning a 'Super League' because the Champions League, in his words, was too "obsolete and problematic for the quality of the sport and an obstacle preventing clubs from growing their businesses and developing infrastructure." That idea resurfaced in 2020 when big clubs started suffering financially from the Covid-19 pandemic and ongoing debts. That got American investors interested who pledged US $5 billion towards its formation. In January 2021, FIFA and all six football's continental confederations (AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, and UEFA) issued a statement that rejected the formation of any breakaway European Super League and that they would ban any club or player involved from any competitions organised by FIFA and its six confederations.
Current 'European Super League':
In April 2021, PĆ©rez announced the formation of the 'European Super League' (ESL) via a press release signed by twelve clubs that signed up to be involved (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspurs, Inter Milan, Juventus, AC Milan, AtlĆ©tico Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid). The aim was a new competition that "provides higher-quality matches and additional financial resources for the overall football pyramid, provides significantly greater economic growth and support for European football via a long-term commitment to uncapped solidarity payments, which will grow in line with league revenues, would appeal to a new younger generation of football fans, and also would improveĀ VAR and refereeing." Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Juventus were the three leading clubs. There is much more to the financial aspect of it (like solidarity payments, welcome bonuses, participation payments, commercial revenue, etc.), but that's rather complicated and depends on what newspaper you wanna believe.
Reception:
The announcement led to a joint statement from the governing bodies of the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A condemning the formation, with all governing bodies declaring to prevent the ESL from proceeding any further. Football governing bodies from Germany, France and Russia released similar statements. UEFA reiterated their statements made in January 2021, warning that any clubs involved in the Super League would be banned from all other domestic, European and world football competitions and that players from the clubs involved would also be banned from representing their national teams in international matches. (The Premier League and their governing body FA ruled out barring the six clubs from domestic competitions and preferred to not take legal action.) Numerous politicians expressed their opposition to the proposal of the ESL. Amongst commentators, footballers and managers, the ESL sparked contrasting opinions. Media companies were mostly opposed to the idea (which does not come as a surprise as ESL promises free viewing of all live matches). Many football fans, including the fans of the involved clubs, were not in support of the idea of the ESL. The backlash led to nine clubs (all clubs, except FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus) announcing their intention to withdraw from the project in April 2023. However, eight of these nine clubs remained involved as stakeholders. In June 2023, Juventus announced their decision to leave the Super League project after facing a rumoured 5-year ban from all European competitions if they went through with the project. (That only leaves FC Barcelona and Real Madrid)
Legal issues:
In May 2021, the Super League filed a complaint to the Court of Justice of the European Union against UEFA and FIFA for their proposals to stop the competition. UEFA had opened disciplinary proceedings against FC Barcelona, Juventus, and Real Madrid, which were threatened to be excluded from allĀ UEFA competitions, in order to sanction themĀ but these measures were stayedĀ until further notice as a result ofĀ the rulings from the Spanish commercial courtĀ and Swiss authorities. In June 2021, the Swiss Department of Justice and Police and the Spanish Commercial Court referred the issue to the Court of Justice of the European Union to question whether UEFA and FIFA have violated two articles of the Treaty of the Functioning of the European Union. Article 101 prohibits cartels and other agreements that could disrupt free competition in the EEA and Article 102 aims to prevent businesses in an industry from abusing their position or taking action to prevent new businesses from gaining a foothold in the industry. On 21 December 2023, theĀ European Court of JusticeĀ (ECJ) ruled that FIFA and UEFA's rules, which banned clubs from joining rival competitions, such as the Super League, are contrary to EU law. UEFA's and FIFA's rules making new football projects subject to their prior approval are also unlawful.
What does the ECJ's ruling mean:
The ECJ's ruling is binding and not subject to appeal. The ECJ's decision on UEFA's rules does however not rule on whether the Super League should (or is allowed) to exist. UEFA needs to change and clarify its rules now to comply with EU law. Once the regulations are updated, the Super League will still need to acquire authorisation to set the competition up. The ruling basically gives companies like A22 the right to pitch a new football competition and for their application to be judged on criteria which are "transparent, objective, non-discriminatory and proportionate".
Revival of the project:
In December 2023, A22 announced a new, updated proposal (which I already explained under format). However, many clubs have issued statements opposing the idea (including clubs, who were once involved in the ESL). As of right now, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and SSC Napoli have issued statements in support of the ESL. There are reports about various clubs from Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and other European leagues who are keen on joining (but no official statements from the clubs).
Why could BarƧa and Real Madrid receive ā‚¬1 billion?
I believe this has not been confirmed by A22, but it has been reported by various newspapers. They would receive ā‚¬1 billion as a reward for their loyalty, as they are the only two clubs who remained firm on their decision to take part in the Super League. That would obviously only happen if they find enough teams to set up the ESL.

ā€œReligions are, by definition, metaphors, after all: God is a dream, a hope, a woman, an ironist, a father, a city, a house of many rooms, a watchmaker who left his prize chronometer in the desert, someone who loves youā€”even, perhaps, against all evidence, a celestial being whose only interest is to make sure your football team, army, business, or marriage thrives, prospers, and triumphs over all opposition. Religions are places to stand and look and act, vantage points from which to view the world. So none of this is happening. Such things could not occur. Never a word of it is literally true.ā€

The second round of the Heraldry and Emblem Wars will start tomorrow! Congrats to the arms and emblems that made it past the prelims. So many amazing submissions unfortunately couldnā€™t make it to the second round. The poll I released to decide whether I would make a bracket graphic tied, so I decided to not make a graphic. I started making one, but it was difficult to fit all 32 arms and emblems into the image.
There will be 16 brackets in this round, divided into four groups. Four polls will be posted per day. I hope everyone has fun with the rest of the tournament!

Albert Roger Miller (born May 20, 1952) known as Roger Milla, is a Cameroonian former footballer who played as a forward. He was one of the first African players to be major stars on the international stage. He played in three World Cups for the Cameroon national team.
He achieved international stardom at 38 years old, an age at which most forwards have retired, by scoring four goals at the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He helped Cameroon become the first African team to reach the World Cup quarter-finals. He became the oldest goalscorer in World Cup history by scoring against Russia in the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
He is remembered for his trademark goal celebration of running to the corner flag and performing a dance. He has been recognized as a pioneer of the many unconventional and imaginative goal celebrations seen since then. He was named by PelĆ© in the FIFA 100 list of the worldā€™s greatest living players. The Confederation of African Football named him the best African player in the previous 50 years. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

On Terrorists Cells
So I talked before how there's Trolls in the hacker community trying to sow Discord among nations (Not the App).
And this is important for the idea we have in America about decentralized terrorist cells.
This comes from our understanding of Gang-warfare. We may have also used similar tactics to throw decades worth of tea into the harbor called "Guerrilla-Tactics".
Yup, that concept is taught to us in elementary school. We know our historic warfare tactics better than our times-tables.
And the evidence we've had to go on at the time identified similar ideologies, speech patterns, and gang tactics that we're used to.
What this has resulted in in the "real-world". Is a conflation with unaffiliated cells, civil unrest, and multiple separate groups identified as parts of the same terrorist organization.
In corporate terms, we'd call this "A Conglomerate."
And it's led to mass recognition of Hamas, Al-Queda, ISIS, ISIL, the Iraq and Iranian militaries, and many more as parts of this same groups.
There were so many potential Paramilitaries that we had trouble seeing the forest for the trees.
With so many different governments for the various areas; our citizens had trouble telling the actual scale of the various conflicts.
Tiny; like football teams and city mayors going to war with each other.
Not the same as a conflict between, say, Ukraine and Russia. Which is closer to what we might call a civil war.
With all the history and all our perceptions; Russia is definitely a seemingly purposeful Bully. So we must consider exactly what this conflict is really about. If it's simply territory; the easiest solution is form conglomerations.
Which is where we as outsiders must make certain we don't make petty escalations the problem of neighboring Territories. "Neighbor Hoods" or "Towns" or "Cities".
And in the case of Migrant Tribes.... Like the Romani; we have to take care we don't tip the scale with our big elephant foot to someone else's Stag Beetle.
In America we caused attrocities to our own Migrant Tribes; what we refer to as "Native Americans" only because they were here before the white people.
If you're really having trouble on such a small scale; you can't stand a chance against our very large scales.
And this can apply to a lot of what America does; warfare can decimate local militia. Aid can destroy local businesses and disrupt small economies, which are inextricably linked to our global economy.
We've become masters of Guerrilla-Tactics from both sides. *We* should know better.
But we became fearful of our enemies; Germany, China, Russia, Mexico, tiny little ol Cuba.
When people were persecuted we found somebody in charge of the whole thing to arm so they could "Take care of themselves".
This brings me to Israel.
Knowing whatever I've told you already + your misconceptions, stereotypes, any added information.
What do you think of the situation?
Israel is the only tiny little places in the world with as much authority as a Nation like China or the U.S. despite still being in that "Mayor" mindset.
How can we expect such a small place to defend itself against the entire world?
It's just that tiny.
Our attention gave them authority over the other people around them; and other similar sized leaders; like Mayors. Became enemies.
Israel is a single State and not as United as our States are.
They need to understand that they are now responsible for the lives of all the people around them; especially ones outside their borders. The same kind of responsibility only we have known for quite some time.
No offense China. Our Unity is quite different from yours.
As Scary as it may seem; Israel has been chosen to lead a unification process, but abused it in fear for their own sovereignty.
Well, we can't go back on word now. But we must remember; they can be bullies to the Jews outside their borders, just like we can be to Mexico and Canada....and the whole world really.
Just because the Sun rises in Israel, doesn't mean it should set over Palestine.
And so we must be sensitive to what damages even our "Friendly Gestures" might cause.
So the question to Israel; is this *really* an "Us or Them" situation? Or are you exiling Jews as you've done before?
Strength is in uniting with your neighbors in beneficial ways for all.
But fear gets the best of us.
Fear for our God given Lives. If life is a gift, and we should be thankful for it. It's not in service to a single man.
Better understanding of your own local laws, even from "outsiders" is key.
But here's the thing that all men can understand;
Most laws can be boiled down into one Law; "Don't be a [big meanie]".
If you want to split them into ten; following the commandments might as well be good enough for any place in the world.
If you're not Religious you can replace [no God's before me] and [not to worship idols]
With [separation of church and state] (don't bring up religion because then they'll counter with theirs)
And [Celebrities are not the Law]. Politicians, people, whatever.
And "Stick to those rules before being told anything else is allowed."
You know; entrapment and all that.
Because; which laws aren't covered here? By these ten, even if you ignore the God part.
Just Remember; Taylor Swift fans comprise twice the population of Israel. That's the kind of difference in scale we need to take into account.
