Born on this day 102 years ago: visionary breast-fixated high potentate of sexploitation cinema Russ Meyer (21 March 1922 - 18 September 2004). Pictured: Meyer with glamazonian starlet Edy Williams, best remembered for her performance as the predatory, sexually insatiable Ashley St Ives in Meyer’s Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970). The two were stormily married between 1970 and 1975. “We were an extraordinary couple,” Meyer would recall. “A sex bomb with an old pornographer.”The 2005 book Big Bosoms and Square Jaws: The Biography of Russ Meyer by Jimmy McDonough is compulsory reading.
