#running crab spider

Cool guy that I found at the library at my university. It's been scurrying around the table for the past little bit. I don't think I've ever seen this one before?

Hello, yess, this looks to me like one of the Running Crab Spiders (Philodromus sp. or Apollophanes sp.), family Philodromidae.

Any spider people have a suggestion for which species it might be?

TEENY spider in NJ, looks like it has a very fine fuzzy coating, can you ID? When spooked it jumped down from an attached webbing point on the car.

Little running crab spider visitor in the office today! Walked right up to me and gave me a slight jump lol, still very cute. I haven't seen a spider with this many stripes!

so my car is full of bugs which is fine except theyre all biting me while i drive which is fine except im like mildly mildly allergic so even little bug bites from the most harmless bigs will get sooo big and red and itchy which is fine except theyre also biting my girlfriend who has sensitive skin from eczema and stuff and also the bugs r very very small so theyre hard to see and idk what they even are. i actually think theyre very little spiders. but i have no idea

I think this is Apollophanes margareta.

@podcast-prophetess submitted: Sharing this house spider (?) I found in my kitchen (in Western Maryland usa) with weird asymmetrical legs! Maybe it messed up a molt or something? Love those stripeys on one side and little ghost legs on the other! I released it outside, hopefully it survived long enough to get better legs lol

I bet those ones work just fine! Often when a spider has legs that are smaller than the rest, it’s because they lost the legs and re-grew them with their last molt. It’s also possible it had a strange molt, as you said.

i'm deathly afraid of horseshoe crabs. fucking terrified. i hate them so much but the idea of him just tying me up and forcing me to look at google images of them is fucking sending me

but, kidnapper!krueger will 100% use your fears against you to get you listening, or to have you obedient and respectful.

he won't hesitate to sit you in his lap, gag you and bound your wrists together with rope. he forces you to keep your eyes open, otherwise he'll take it a step further and try buying something to get you listening

scared of spiders? he won't get rid of any house spiders, and might just go buy one to have it crawl all over you before crunching it with his boot.

scared of the dark? he'll lock you in the basement without a light, without anything. he might just go out of his way to sneak downstairs and jumpscare you until you're crying, apologising and telling him you'll be good !!

scared of horseshoe crabs? he'll go buy one and force you to be in the same room. maybe then you'll think twice about running off.
