Hear me out on this... TWST with a Southern! Reader.

Like, it's the first day of school, and obviously Reader can't remember the names of the two people they just met, so when Ace says one thing or another, complaining about someone called Riddle, they just go "Hm, yeah, sweetheart."

Ace drops his lunch.

Or when they step on Leona's tail by accident, immediately going, "Oh, darling, are you alright?"

Leona couldn't fall asleep for the first time in a while.

Or after Azul's overblot, how can he not cry more, especially when Reader is rubbing circles into his shoulders, cooing, "It's okay, love, let it all out."

The scammer, unfortunately, couldn't look Reader in the eyes for a while after that.

Or when Reader gets mad, like when they cook something for their friends and Grim eats it, their immediate instinct is to go "WITH ALL I DO FOR THIS HOUSE, YOUNG MAN, WHY DON'T YOU TRY YOUR HAND AT FEEDING THIS HOUSE?!"

By house, they mean the five other first years.

Ace Trappola

During a Class Mishap Ace messes up a potion and it starts bubbling over, covering his face in soot. Reader chuckles softly and drawls, “Well, bless your heart, sugar, you tryin’ to invent fireworks in here?” Ace sputters, trying to explain himself, but the way Reader says “sugar” makes him forget what he was even going to say. He spends the rest of the class trying (and failing) to act unfazed.

Deuce Spade

When He Gets Into Trouble Deuce gets caught in yet another fight, his uniform a mess. Reader sighs, crossing their arms. “Now, darlin’, I know your momma raised you better than this. You think brawlin’ is gonna solve your problems?” Deuce blushes deeply, stammering out an apology, and promises to do better. He can’t decide if Reader’s scolding feels more like comfort or a proper lecture, but either way, it gets through to him.

Jack Howl

After a Long Run Jack comes back from a run, panting heavily. Reader hands him a water bottle and says, “There you go, honey. Can’t have you keelin’ over on me, now.” Jack pauses mid-sip, ears twitching. He mumbles a quiet “thanks” but spends the rest of the day wondering why being called “honey” makes his tail wag.

Ruggie Bucchi

When He Steals Food Ruggie swipes a bite of Reader’s lunch, thinking they won’t notice. Reader glares and slams their hand on the table. “Now, listen here, sugar. If you’re gonna steal from me, at least have the decency to leave a ‘thank you’ note!” Ruggie freezes, torn between laughing and apologizing. He scratches the back of his head sheepishly. “Sorry, I’ll leave a note next time, promise.”

Floyd Leech

During One of Floyd’s Moods Floyd is sulking in the lounge, glaring at anyone who comes near. Reader plops down beside him, ignoring the tension. “What’s got you in such a twist, darlin’? You look like a cat that’s been rained on.” Floyd blinks at them before breaking into a grin. “Heh, you’re funny. I like you.” He’s back to his usual chaotic self in no time, dragging Reader into whatever mischief he has planned.

Jamil Viper

When He’s Overworked Reader notices Jamil trying to juggle a million tasks at once. They gently take a tray from his hands and say, “Now, love, you can’t be doin’ everything yourself. Even the strongest trees need a little support.” Jamil hesitates but lets them help. Later, he finds himself thinking about how soft their voice was when they called him “love.”

Kalim Al-Asim

When He’s Overly Excited Kalim bursts into Reader’s room, talking a mile a minute about his latest idea for a party. Reader smiles fondly and says, “Alright, sugarcube, slow down. You’re buzzin’ around like a bee in a flower shop.” Kalim laughs, realizing he’s gotten carried away. “Sorry! I just get so excited talking to you!” Reader’s warm tone makes him feel even more enthusiastic.

Sebek Zigvolt

When He’s Loud (As Always) Sebek’s voice booms through the dorm, startling everyone nearby. Reader raises an eyebrow and says, “Well, darlin’, you sure do have a voice on you. Could probably wake the dead if you tried.” Sebek pauses, unsure if that was a compliment or not. He straightens up and replies, “Of course! A knight must always be heard!” But his face betrays the fact that he’s flustered.

Silver

When He Falls Asleep Reader finds Silver asleep under a tree and gently drapes a blanket over him. “Sleep tight, sugar. Even knights need their rest.” When Silver wakes up and sees the blanket, his heart skips a beat. He quietly resolves to thank them later, though he’s already blushing at the thought.

Vil Schoenheit

During a Self-Care Lesson Vil insists on giving Reader a skincare lesson. As he critiques their routine, Reader smirks and says, “Well, bless your heart, sweetpea. I didn’t realize I was sittin’ with the beauty queen of Twisted Wonderland.” Vil narrows his eyes, but the corners of his lips twitch upward. “Flattery will get you nowhere—though I appreciate the sentiment.”

Rook Hunt

When He’s Observing Them Rook starts waxing poetic about Reader’s charm and grace. They laugh and reply, “Oh, honey, you’re layin’ it on thicker than molasses on a pancake.” Rook places a hand over his heart, feigning offense. “But I only speak the truth, mon trésor!” Reader shakes their head, amused by his dramatics.

Epel Felmier

When He’s Feeling Insecure Epel complains about being underestimated because of his looks. Reader pats his shoulder and says, “Now, don’t you fret, darlin’. Even the prettiest apples can pack the strongest punch.” Epel grins, feeling a little more confident. “Thanks, Yuu. You’re real good at makin’ a guy feel better.”

Idia Shroud

When He’s Awkward Around Them Reader catches Idia muttering to himself about a game. They lean in with a warm smile. “Whatcha talkin’ about, sugar? Don’t keep me in suspense.” Idia jumps, his hair flaring pink. “N-nothing! It’s nothing!” But the way they said “sugar” replays in his head for days.

Malleus Draconia

During a Starlit Walk Reader invites Malleus to stargaze with them, saying, “Ain’t the night sky somethin’ else, darlin’? Makes all the troubles of the day seem so small.” Malleus gazes at them instead of the stars. “Indeed,” he murmurs, though he’s not talking about the sky.

I decided to keep this as cute and fluffy but i really like the idea, i was torn between having reader be a member of savanaclaw  or themes till being the ramshackle prefect who happened to come from a world with similar beastmen. At first he thought you were an annoying dog because like, cats and dogs haha

But he warms up to you, his silly puppy

The real grumpy x sunshine trope over here, honestly you can be a bit rambunctious sometimes but he just wants to cuddle 

You seem to just have a 6th sense for finding where he is lol like you can just automatically know where he is 

Will never admit it but the happy look in your eyes when he calls you a good boy for doing anything kinda makes him feel warm and fuzzy inside

Same with when he sees your tail wag when you see him 

You can pry that from his cold dead hands tho

He really values the loyalty that you have 

He is not immune to puppy dog eyes so use that info however you want 

Claims that cuddling when you let him scratch behind your ears helps him sleep better, he's a dirty liar and just wants to pet you 

Has never gotten used to you basically pouncing on him when hes napping but makes you pay in cuddles so its fine

Thinks its really cute if you do the thing dogs do when they sleep and chase things in their dreams 

He calls you “puppy” and “mutt” affectionately but if anyone else was to call you either he will be having words (read : hands) with them. 

Ruggie

He ends up roping you into all of his schemes because you two always seem to be together, where one of you is the other is close behind 

He loves how sweet you are, and he often makes you food as a little treat

I think he would like having little matching charms, his being a golden retriever cham and yours being a hyena because obviously 

Favorite activity is flopping your ears because you are too adorable really 

He loves when you get all excited and run up to him and almost tackle him with a hug 

Yapper x yapper 

Teaches you the true ways of the puppy eyes so that you and him can tag team leona lmao because again he is not immune to puppy eyes

You become his little helper for everything and he loves rewarding you with treats and cuddles because you are in fact his goodest boy 

I think his nickname for you would be goldie because ya know golden retriever 

Jack

The two goddess boys 

He thinks you are so cute because he is a wolf beastman and you are just a doggy lol, 

He would never admit that but its super obvious with the way his tail is wagging furiously 

Its cute because when you two hug or kiss both of your tails are going absolutely bonkers 

I think he likes to play wrestle like dogs do, but the whole time hes trying to be gentle because again he's a whole wolf lmao 

Can't hold your hand without his tail going nuts because he sees your tail going nuts and he gets embarrassed 

Another one where you can tackle him with a hug, but unlike ruggie he will just catch you lmao 

If you try to be intimidating he secretly thinks its also cute because he really sees you as too cute

Grim being greedy with Yuu's attention and love is pretty cute and very cat of him. Though it would be funny if the guys are the ones getting jealous/are envious of Grim. Image one of them seeing Grim getting held, smooched on his cute little face, and being told what a handsome little man he is. The boy wants that to be him so bad. 🥲

I love the misplaced jealousy trope so much. It's about the contempt, embarrassment, and guilt all rolled up into one package. Anyway have a list:

Not Jealous

Kalim- the only thing he is jealous of is that he is not the one spoiling Grim, he wants to let him know what a special little boy he is too! Look he even brought some crackers-

Trey- has kid siblings, knows how fun they can be to spoil so he doesn't mind. He saves his actual jealousy for other people that try to monopolize your time and assume that since he is so laid back he will just be ok with it.

Lilia- he is too old to be jealous of a practical child, but he is a bit hurt Grim won't let him spoil either of you with some food. He worked really hard on it ˙∧˙

Rook- watching you interact with Grim is truly beautiful, he has so many pictures of the two of you together from different angles in different light and he loves them all. Also I feel like he would be the type to actually like feeling jealous? Like he would write excessively about how beautiful he finds his feelings for you to the point you wonder if he is actually jealous or just... really extra with his obsessions.

Rollo- he doesn't see Grim as competition. Point, blank, period, there is no reason to be jealous of a monster because he doesn't want you to see him as someone who needs babying. If you are going to pepper his face with kisses and tell him he is handsome he wants that to be for other reasons (and hopefully in private he isn't big on pda.)

Deuce- he has this little game with Grim where Grim tries to get him jealous but Deuce waits his turn like a good little boy and gets twice as many kisses and compliments as Grim does. Idiot falls for it every time and Deuce is way to smug about it for Yuu not to notice.

Only a Little Jealous

Ruggie- is aware enough of himself to know he has no reason to see Grim as competition. Everyone likes spoiling kids, even bratty ones, but hey. Ruggie is a greedy guy and he wants to be spoiled by you, even if he is a bit too shy to admit it.

Cater- you spoiling Grim is very camable and Cater loves taking pictures of it; even if he doesn't have your permission to post them he just likes to have them to look at. But on days where Cater is a bit more depressed it can be hard to watch, he needs some tlc to recharge and he will never say he hates seeing it go to Grim- he does hate seeing it go to Grim.

Epel- really wishes Yuu would hang out with him because they think he is cool... but cool guys like being told they're handsome and getting kisses too... right? Well doesn't matter because he does and he is torn between playing cute to get it and hoping he wakes up buff enough to flirt with Yuu the way he wants.

Silver- he isn't aware that he is jealous because he knows why he shouldn't be, he has animals following him around everywhere so it would be hypocritical of him to be jealous of the attention you give Grim. But he is, he really likes your affection and is jealous for it.

In Denial

Vil- world famous super model Vil Schoenheit does not get jealous, people get jealous of him. And he certainly does NOT get jealous of monsters who aren't real rivals for your attention and he does not look at how you spoil Grim and think to himself how nice it would be to be able to be that free with his affection. On a completely unrelated note are you free in about an hour? He has some lipsticks he needs to swatch.

Jade- let's get one thing straight, Jade never gets actually jealous he just pretends to be because it's funny. He definitely is not watching you kiss Grim's little face and actually think of throwing him halfway across campus. Now if you could just look the other way for a second- oh why are you looking at him like that he would never actually hurt Grim. But just to make sure maybe you could buy him off with a kiss? Pretty please?

Sebek- thinks that he is above being jealous but has that ruffled wet cat look complete with the trembling lower lip as soon as he sees you and Grim. He isn't fooling anyone, please also spoil the croco he will call you an idiot but he is only doing that because he is too flustered to talk properly.

Jack- you are his mate, his one and only, the moon in the sky that is his life so why oh why does watching you spoil Grim make him want to die? Maybe it's because it is a bit hard for him to admit when he wants your affection so seeing you be so free with Grim makes those same words bubble up in his throat. Thank goodness he has a tail, otherwise you would never know when he wants a smooch.

Riddle- touch starved? Check. Proud? Check. Obsessed with rules to the point that it makes him a bit stiff when it comes to how he rationalizes his desires for affection? Oh you don't even know. He doesn't realize what he is feeling is jealousy and just assumes Yuu is breaking some sort of rule of social etiquette and that's why he is so mad at Grim. If he gets a kiss out of this he will probably pass out.

Visibly Seething

LEONA- is a petty bitch. He needs to feel like he is in charge and has a weird sort of competition with Grim because of how vaguely feline he is. Leona is the bigger cat so he should be the one Yuu is kissing on and not the whiny baby. leona says fuck them kids

Floyd- Floyd isn't always jealous. Sometimes he thinks watching Yuu spoil Grim is really funny! Just look at baby seal, all whiny and spoiled just like a real baby, so cute ♡ But when he has decided that he, Floyd, is the one who should be receiving kisses the eel is an absolute menace. Running won't help you.

Azul- he is touch starved and repressed and while it should be cute watching you spoil Grim... he doesn't think it is. Or rather he can't, he is too caught up in white knuckling his grip on his cane because oh seas he wishes that were him, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET THAT BE HIM

Jamil- thinks he is playing it smooth and isn't coming off as jealous at all but he is. I once wrote that he would be jealous of the air you breathe and Grim is much more solid than that. He tries to play off his interruption as him just having had a rough day but Grim knows what he is and is not impressed. he totally sticks his tongue out at grim when yuu isn't looking what a loser

Ace- Grim has this weird game he plays with Ace where he behaves extremely well and gets a bunch of kisses and praise while Ace seethes in the corner until he finally snaps and whines for your attention. Ace does not wait his turn like a good boy and he and Grim are constantly competing for who gets the most kisses.

Malleus- Mal Mal is a bit of a spoiled brat. He hasn't had a lot of friends, so him wanting to be around Yuu and have their attention whenever he wants is natural but... he really isn't the best at sharing. But never mind that isn't his face much more kissable than Grim's child of man? (￣ε￣)

C-c-combo

Idia- no I didn't forget hims shut up. He goes through all four stages in that exact order. Not jealous because Mr. Grim is so cute he deserves all the kissies in the world, to a little jealous because he wishes Grim would let him spoil him too, to in denial because pssh there's no waaay you would ever want to give a weeb like him kisses or think he was handsome, to outright seething because Grim starts making fun of him. He is too brave enough to handle Yuu's affection! He instantly passes out after he gets one kiss

Hello there! I came across your blog and enjoyed reading your post about the Overblot Squad Plushie Parts. I was wondering if you would consider writing a Part 3 where the Squad discovers that their plushies have been stolen. It turns out that the culprits are their Vice Dorm Wardens - either Kalim (since Jamil is Vice Dorm Warden) or Ace (since Trey wouldn't do that). I'm curious to know how the Overblot Boys would react to this situation. Have a pleasant day/night!

SUMMARY: Someone took the Overblot Squad’s plushies! How do they react?

WARNINGS: T*cked in Riddle’s section, sorry if Malleus’ wasn’t that good, writing his was really tricky.

COMMENTS: Hehehehe as soon as I read this my immediate reaction was “oh they’re screwed.”

He. Is. Ticked. ALL of Heartslabyul is on lockdown until he finds whichever culprit was bold enough to steal something from him! And stealing something that his beloved made from him? Heads are going to roll.

Riddle literally stops people from leaving Heartslabyul and searches every room himself. He, unsurprisingly, finds plenty of contraband, but doesn’t find his beloved plushy anywhere. He’s almost in tears. He really doesn’t want to tell you he lost it, but all hope seems to be lost-

That is, until Ace hands back the plushy with a sheepish apology. He explains that he had to drop something off in Riddle’s room and accidentally knocked the toy into the trash can. He stole it to clean it and was gonna sneak it back. He didn’t think Riddle would notice that quickly!

Ace still loses his head, but only for a week instead of a month, since he had good intentions. Riddle remains snippy at Ace for months afterwards, though.

Walking into his room, Leona realises that something is wrong. You - or at least, the plush you made for him - is missing. He spends around an hour searching his room for it and ends up being extremely irritated when all traces of it are gone. He doesn’t want to admit to his dorm members that he actually misses it, so he tries to sleep without it for a couple of days.

This makes him even more irritated.

Eventually, he wears himself down enough to ask Ruggie what had happened to it. Ruggie groans and explains that the smell of you coming from the plush and accessories was waaay too much for any normal beastman, and that he (along with other Savannaclaw members) had gotten fed up with it and hidden them.

Leona offers Ruggie 2,000 thaumarks to return them. Ruggie doesn’t think twice. 

Azul is sobbing ALL DAY. He is INCONSOLABLE. Octavinelle is getting embarrassed at the fact that their dorm leader - the best and brightest among them - is an uncontrollable mess over the fact that his toy is missing. But what can he do? That’s his best friend, gone! He’s looked everywhere and he can’t find it! What will his Angelfish say? He can’t bear to imagine the look on your face when he tells you he lost it!

He literally pays people to help him find the toy, yet no matter how much money he throws at them and no matter how hard they look, it’s just gone. It’s almost like someone stole it… no, he can’t think like that. If someone really did steal it, he’d probably never get it back! He just wants to hide in an octopus pot.

The Tweels are torn between thinking it’s hilarious and wanting Azul to shut up already. Eventually, Jade returns the plush, explaining that he thought it was fascinating and wanted to study it closer, yet didn’t think Azul would agree. (He also wanted to see Azul’s reaction to his favourite plushy being missing.) Azul is in TEARS of RELIEF and hugging that plushy. He refuses to let it out of his sight anymore. It will go with him (almost) everywhere. Floyd thinks the whole situation is hilarious and will NOT stop teasing him about it.

Jamil at first doesn’t seem like he’s phased. However, those who know him notice the ticks; the muscles in his face twitching with annoyance whenever he’s asked to do anything and the sarcastic comments he often thinks and not says become mutters under his breath instead. He becomes a lot more aggressive in his tasks - forgoing the typical, painstaking care he usually takes for finishing his tasks quickly and shutting everyone out.

He remains this way for several days. People start to get vibes from him and avoid him, which annoys him even more. He just can’t get it out of his head. Why is he so annoyed? Is it because every time he thinks of the missing doll, he thinks of you, upset at him for losing it (whether you actually are or not)? …maybe. He won’t let himself admit it either way. 

A couple of days later, Jamil finds the doll - sitting on Kalim’s bed. He’s immediately interrogating Kalim. Kalim happily explains that in trying to help out Jamil, he decided to try and help clean his room. He knows that the doll means a lot to Jamil, so he wanted to get it cleaned for him! Jamil appreciates it but he’s also this close to losing his temper. Please, just, next time, tell him first, okay? sheesh.

Vil is going to lose his mind. His doll has gone missing. He cannot find it anywhere. He’s already torn apart his room at least three times and called every single studio he’s done a photoshoot in or acted for in the past two months, asking if anyone had seen it. Yet no traces have been found. He has a headache. 

On top of that, Rook has been acting particularly frustrating recently - constantly checking up on his mood and popping out of the most random places. It’s almost as though the universe has coordinated this on purpose.

Wait.

Upon confronting Rook, Vil finds out that his theory was correct; Rook did in fact steal the plush. Apparently, he’d “wanted to see the beauty of Vil’s yearning for the precious thing his beloved made for him,” and so he’d hidden it for a while. Vil’s this close to shaking him by the shoulders, but at least he’s got the plush back.

Pookie? Pookie is missing! Uh oh, that ain’t good. He’s gotta find him, quick. The gacha banners are about to change and he already pre-farmed the mats needed for the character he wants. How’s he supposed to hit those 0.6% odds while without the Little Guy?

He’s tearing apart his room, trying to find the skrunkly before server reset. There’s no way he would’ve taken the toy outside to touch grass, right??? So it’s gotta be in here. Except it’s nowhere to be found. 

He’s about to give in to some totally cringe behaviour - going and looking for it outside - when Ortho shows up, holding the marketable plushie. Idia is snatching it from Ortho and spinning it around the room before flopping on his bed, before realising how cringe he just was. At least he can do his gacha rolls now?

(Ortho’s really confused. He just took it to wash. Did he do something wrong-? Oh well, as long as his brother’s happy now)

As soon as Malleus discovers the plush toy is missing, the rain starts. As he continues to look and ask around for it and doesn’t find it, the rain gets worse. Eventually, NRC has a full-blown hurricane on its hands. 

The weather stays like this for a good two days. Classes have been cancelled as asking students to walk across campus in that much of a downpour would lead to a school-wide riot. And Malleus is still sulking in the corner about his missing plushie.

That is, until a sheepish Lilia surprises Malleus with the plush. He explains that it must’ve fallen in with the laundry and gone through the wash. Since the weather has been so erratic lately, it had to go through the dryer too rather than be dried by the sun, which is why no one noticed where it was for so long.

The rain instantly clears. Malleus hugs his plush and decides to take her to visit you. All is right in the world again.

Messy design notes:

I have mixed feelings over his design. On one hand, the outfit itself looks cool... and on the other hand it turned out to be nothing like what I had envisioned in the beggining 😭 I wanted to stick with muted colors, in the vibes of that pic next to howleen's I guess, but it's like Ruggie's design had a mind of its own, and would always lean to more punk-looking no matter how hard I tried to avoid it, which don't get me wrong- punk style does fit him well, the problem is that I had it reserved for another character already, and I wanted to repeat themes as little as possible between entries of this project.. that just may be my perfectionist side speaking though, and there is no reason why I shouldn't post this version here for the time being! If I don't get tired of working on this series by the time I finish all the main cast's designs, then I suppose I could try to make an alternative version of Ruggie with a slightly different theme! I'd do the same with Jamil's entry since he is yet another character I have mixed feelings about the design lol

Aaaanyway, the mood for chupacabra Ruggie is grunge/thrifted fashion with diy details he would add to make his looks feel unique to him I think? The spikes on his skin, although he can partially control (?) them, still get stuck on cloth every now and then. Nearly all items of his closet are a bit torn from it, but he doesn't mind all that much. I got no particular designs for the pins and badges he wears, maybe except for the brazilian flag and the trans pin which I rlly wanted to include somewhere on his clothes whsdbdshewbdi

The chupacabra's appearance vary from place to place, but for this, I based his looks on how I personally grew up hearing and imagining this creature to be like! Baisically a fucked up looking dog, sometimes with spikes and scales on its body? Yeah 👍

And he remains the same personality-wise in the AU, pretty much! At the moment I can't think of many fun facts or character quirks for him, aside from how impossible it is to take a selfie with him, much to Cater's dismay. He swears he doesn't do it on purpose! The moment the camera clicks his body moves on its own to be out of frame. Ruggie's entire instagram (or whatever the monster high equivalent of that may be) account are either pictures of a moving blur or a vaguely distinguishable sillouette of him, taken from far away and zoomed in 10x

This would take place shortly after the whole deal with Octavinelle and Azul's OB. Maybe a month

Leona didn't really notice at first, as you preferred to keep as much of your skin hidden and eyes covered

He will admit, he was a little curious, but never really bothered to ask you about it

Until he heard about the scuffle that was happening in the lounge of the dorm

Turns out he wasn't the only one curious, but he was the one that was smart enough to actually put hands on you

As several of his other dorm members did

All but paused the moment he saw you, and another beast-man who had your jacket basically torn in his hands and you desperately trying to cover, already feeling the heat against your skin, and seeing you grimace in pain

The story is, no one has seen him scowl so hard, Ruggie being the one to basically keep Leona from ripping into the beatman

After that, he actually picked you up, feeling the heat on your skin , and would take you back to his room where there would be more shade this time of day, already bringing out a few creams to help with the burns that were already forming

...... don't look at him like that

Listen, just tell him if you need anything to help with the heat and sun, especially if you start coming by his dorm more often, okay?

You were actually waiting for him at Savanaclaw to come back from spell drive practice

He had helped you out a few days ago in keeping you covered from the sun. It had been raining that day so you hadn't brought any coverings, but it decided to stop halfway through and the sun came out all bright. Ruggie had loaned you his jacket and you wanted to be able to repay him

And that led you to sit under one of the trees in the lounge by the water with a box of homemade donuts. After hearing of his love of said treat, what better way to repay him?

Being too wrapped up in waiting for him, rather excited, you had failed to notice that the sun had begun shifting, shoulders and back exposed to the sun

Oh, but Ruggie certainly noticed when he came into the dorm to see you there

Was torn between helping you and figuring out what you had in the box

Back in his room, he was eating one of said donuts while you sat on his bed as he applied a burn cream to your poor skin

Perhaps you can wait in his room next time?....... and he'll take more of those donuts as well

You had met Jack during one of his track meets. It was honestly kinda hard to miss you given your state of dress to shield yourself from the heat and sun

Certainly knew of albinism. He had actually seen a couple of people back home with the condition

So seeing you out here in all the heat, no doubt sweating under all of those layers, he had welcomed you back to the dorm to help cool

The sun was down but not to curfew time, so it was rather cool at the time and resting your feet in the water felt rather nice

Hence why you thought it was a good idea to visit him again a few days later

But now it was bright and sunny and hot

Trying to find him, you had actually gotten lost in the dorm, and once he heard, he was on his way rather quickly to find you

And when he did?

You were trying to fit under one of the smaller trees away from the sun and heat, but smiled when you saw him

He isn't one for the heat either, given it was certainly chillier and more snowy at his home in the Shaftlands

Straight up picked you up and carried you back as quickly as he could, trying to keep you hidden from the sun

Back to his room, he drew the blinds on his window and offered you some water

Maybe you can try coming to his home sometime? You wouldn't have to worry about the heat and sun as much

It was after the events of book 4 when he got to know you more

He had learned of your condition more when both of you were sent far out into the desert as before, you had always kept your skin and eyes hidden away, but you clearly struggled with the head

Being out in the desert, he figured out more about your albinism and how the sun and heat affect you

Now, Kalim can be rather smart when he needs to or wants to be and not always so naive (sunshine personality coping mechanism for childhood trauma between kidnappings and assassination attempts, I will die on that hill), granted he can still be very naive at times

Getting you back to the dorm was key priority, not just to stop Jamil, but to get you out of the desert before the sun rises

After all of that, you began to visit Scarabia more often

And he absolutely loved that

But he also saw how the heat affected you, as you chose to say nothing in hopes to spend more time with him

The next time he saw you, you were instantly whisked away to a new addition to the lounge he had made just for you

Shielded from the sun, just as lavish as the rest of the dorm, and nice air conditioning

From now on, want to meet him here? He will make sure you have everything to be nice and cozy when you come over!

It was after his own OB when he fully learned of your albinism

It was something that you never drew attention too

If he was being honest, he thought you were just extra protective of your skin from the sun like Vil was, not wanting any burns or blemishes to form

It was only afterwards that he found out it was because you were born with one of the more extreme cases of albinism, the sun and heat very easily able to damage your skin and eyes, quite literally capable of blinding you and causing irreversible damage to your skin

......and he had banished you to the ends of the desert within the dorm

Had you not made it back when you did with the help of Kalim's UM and the Octotrio.....

No, he wasn't going to think about that right now

After the events of his OB, you had been recovering in the medical room on and off for about a week and thankfully, no permanent damage was done

After you were cleared, the first thing you did was visit him and it became a more common thing for the both of you

He had been at club practice when you came by the dorm, opting to wait in the lounge, using a sweat towel to help keep cool

And he wasn't the most pleased seeing you sweating, even in the shade, it can still be dangerous

Straight up grabs you and takes you to the kitchen. It's cool in there, he can get you some water and a cold press for your warm skin, and make a snack for the both of you

Can you keep visiting him? Please? He's never had care like yours before and he doesn't want too lose it any time soon

Twst Characters and a tsundere reader just sends me for some reason. You're brash and standoffish, and you can't admit to feelings of sentiment. But guess what? You're in good company. Most Night Raven students are like that!

Imagine you and Jack, both completely in denial about your feelings for each other. You're both gruff, standoffish, and also completely painful to watch for those around you. Leona is torn between being amused at how blatantly Jack's tale wags when he sees you and being annoyed at your mutual denial.

Or you with Ace, who's constantly teasing you, because You're just so easy to get a rise out of. He laughs at you for being embarrassed about your feelings, only to turn bright red when you ask him if he loves you - N-Not that you're asking because you like him, or anything!

I bet some of them would be hypocrites about it, too.

Azul laughs, giving you his typical spiel, along with a small, smarmy remark about how illogical it is to act the way you do. Who's this incapable of admitting their feelings? Why would one turn cold so childishly instead of being honest?

Soon after, he makes a point to very firmly state that he and the twins are nothing but business partners, and also that he doesn't like you or anything foolishly sentimental like that.

Leona, too, I think. He complains about how weird it is that you're so embarrassed about the simplest of things, only to get embarrassed about the- exact same things! He tells you it's dumb to not admit you're doing something to help someone, then proceeds to 'accidentally' leave Ruggie donuts from that store that popped up a few days ago.

Of course, there's also people who aren't like you. Who don't get it, but are still respectful.

Kalim definitely falls into that camp. It's honestly hilarious when the two of you interact. You're trying so hard to be in denial, and yet, Kalim just remains kind and unbothered, even as you're falling over yourself to explain how you totally don't like him or anything dumb like that, okay? He always seems to accidentally say the most flustering things, too.

Silver is a bit confused by your behavior. Why exactly are you so embarrassed to share your true feelings with others? It's odd, but he understands. He knows what it's like to be shunned for odd behavior, and you're rather fun to talk to.

As of this post, I believe there has been no insinuation in the game that anyone is related to/has met any of the Great Seven, including the Thorn Fairy! ^^

The information we have of the Great Seven mostly comes from Chats, where the students talk to one another about things such as what they have recently learned in their history classes!

This is maybe why so much of the dialogue is tempered with phrasing such as "supposedly" and "they say," etc.--they are sharing information that they have read and/or heard about, not that they learned firsthand.

They also use phrasing such as "In the Thorn Fairy's time," but we have not received an exact timeline for how long ago this was!

Since none of the fairies seem familiar with any of them, personally, perhaps they are maybe describing an era long before any of them were born?

And sometimes the characters seem to suspect the legitimacy of what it is that they have been told, with Silver wondering if a story he grew up with is "simply superstition," Kalim commenting on how few records there are of the Sorcerer of the Sands and Trey guessing at the accuracy of a detail about the Queen of Hearts, saying, "at least, that's what the stories say."

The Director says that Malleus' unique magic resembles "illustrations in classic stories about the legend of the Thorn Fairy," so it sounds like a very long time ago for their exploits to have become tales of legend!

He also says, "If a fae cast the spell--and specifically a scion of House Draconia--that would explain it," which is interesting 👀

Is this an insinuation that faeries in general, yes, but the Draconias in particular are known to wield magic that is reminiscent of the Thorn Fairy? And, if so, why? We do not know!

The strongest argument for maybe someone being a descendent of one of the Great Seven is Leona, as Ruggie says that the hyaenas who served the King of Beasts are his own ancestors.

They are taught that the King of Beasts deposed his brother to become king himself, and with Leona also being a lion beastperson also related to a royal line it seems like a direct familial connection, except: we do not know if the King of Beasts was king of Sunset Savanna, or of somewhere else!

And then there is the novel:

It is explained explicitly that Sunset Savanna is ruled by lion beastpeople in honor of the King of Beasts, with no mention of the Kingscholar royal family being his direct descendents 🧐📝

The novel and the game can often diverge from one another so we cannot say how accurate this is to game-canon, but there does not seem to be anything in the game to refute the possibility! :>

To the original question: No, I have not been able to find any in-game (or in-novel or in-manga) insinuation that Lilia or Maleficia have ever directly interacted with the Thorn Fairy of legend ^^ But maybe we will receive more Thorn Fairy lore moving forward!

jade arrived at the lounge to meet up with this person. to his surprise, the person turned out to be you. “[Y]...? Ah. Pardon me. You might come here to yell at me…”

“No. I'm not here to yell at you…” you calmly deny. the teal haired male looks at you confused, “Is there something you need? I…I promise that I won't provoke you again. I didn't mean to—”

“Jade, it's ok. It's my fault for snapping at you. I didn't mind you teasing me and all, but you provoked me at the wrong time.” you spoke, clutching the paper in your hand. jade frowned while fiddling with his fingers, “Sorry…”

azul and floyd peek in the lounge and listen in on your conversation. you sighed, “Stop apologizing. I'm the one who should apologize.”

you bow 180° and apologized sincerely, “I'm sorry for snapping at you. I let my anger out on you after my dorm lost to Diasomnia again.”

“I know you didn't mean those words. Anger just took the best of me. Sorry…” you finished apologizing before holding up the letter to jade. “Is this yours?”

“Ah?” jade looks at the taped letter in your hand before slowly turning red. “S-sorry! That's nothing!”

before he could snatch it, you swipe it back from his reach, “So, you were planning to confess to me, huh?”

“I…! I-I wasn't going to! It's embarrassing…!” jade blushed with his hands over his face. you reread the love letter before turning your attention back on the flustered jade, “You've been teasing me because you have feelings for me, huh? You just haven't had the courage to tell me how you really feel.”

“...You already read it. Please forget it. It probably not worth it—”

“I love you, too, mushroom lover.” you confessed. “Even if you always pissed me off, I always enjoy your company. You still pissed me off either way.”

jade gawked at your harsh confession, but was glad that you accepted his feelings, “...O…oh, it was still silly of me to make a love letter to a hairy buffalo who has so much facial hair.”

“Oi. I don't have that much facial hair.” you glared. the teal haired male chuckled, “You're close to growing a beard.”

“I'm fine with a beard! I'm not an eel who's afraid of heights. I find it satisfying to see you scared.”

“Well, I wouldn't be so afraid of small, harmless cats. You climb up a tree to avoid it~”

“I wouldn't mind eating eels for dinner.”

“Same with buffalo~”

“Hm. Are they hating or dating? They're spitting insults at each other…” azul sweatdropped as you and jade argued. “Or it's a competition…?”

“Hehehehe~ As long as Ictiobus-kun didn't make Jade cry again then we're fine.” Floyd chuckled.

Happy Starlight everyone! My gift to you! We're gonna switch POVs for this one. I just wanted to show a bit of how Leona's handling things.

Premise: Leona after the break up

               Leona glares at the ceiling, his empty chest keeping the lion from escaping the waking world. Cold morning light rains through the window onto his lonely bed. A savanna breeze whispers through, bringing with it hints of the world he never wants to see again.

               Nothing has been the same since the event that led to the biggest blowup of his life. He finds no light anymore and barely finds the motivation to even breathe. Even the naps he used to escape the world bring him no solace. Instead, the world just passes by as he confines himself to his room waiting for the moment all this pain will finally end. Having tasted life, he finds no reason to go on without.

               A jingle pricks at his ear. Lazily, his head lolls to look at the device he’s surprised still has any battery left. Reaching out, his hand acts without his head’s permission.

               That’s Ruggie. Heaven knows how he’s still on the team with how much practice he’s missed.

               Still…

               How dare his heart still hope.

               It’s been nearly a full year since he last saw his love—on the day of the Briar Prince’s wedding. He made the mistake of thinking he found someone that genuinely cared about him. He thought that, for once, he would be the first pick. Leona Kingscholar had fallen so deeply in love that it blinded him to the real world and now he’s paying the price. Reality firmly put him back in his place and snubbed him for even daring to think he could be happy.

               But no, he never had a chance. Instead he was insulted, screamed at, and told to stay away. Right in his face, his heart was torn to pieces and stamped into the ground even though he wore a snarl the entire time. Leona was never meant to win. Especially against that damn dragon. 

               Despite all the pain it caused him, Leona kept his mouth shut about what happened. He could’ve spilled the truth and thrown the illustrious Draconias under the bus for all the heartache caused. Yet every time he so much as considered revenge, his heart quashed the idea. He couldn’t bring himself to destroy their reputation, all because of his stupid feelings. No matter how he cursed himself, there was no changing his decision.

               To make matters worse, his family insists on trying to help him through a problem they’re grasping at straws to understand. He wants none of it and acknowledges no effort—hell, he barely even acknowledges their existence anymore. Leaving his room is a rare occurrence, so they often sit with him. Sometimes they have their own conversations or talk to him without answers, sometimes they simply sit in silence as they go about their own tasks, but the worst of all is when they turn on the television. Oftentimes, it’s his nephew watching some silly show. However, Falena and his wife like to watch the news. The news is always filled with ridiculous stories that are easy to ignore. It’s the ones that mention the Draconias that always stab at his chest. Where they were seen dining, where their honeymoon had been, the event they attended, what they were wearing. Of course he can’t help peeking at the screen when that happens, but even just hearing about them brings fresh lashings against his wavering stability.

               Those are the nights the sand grates against his skin. He doesn’t know any other way to drown out the grief.

               “Unca Leo! Unca Leo!”

               His door bursts open without even a knock. The mattress shifts beneath the excited jumping of the cub despite the lack of response from the elder prince.

               “Guess what?!”

               The family chamberlain is quick to follow.

               “Prince Cheka! Don’t bother your uncle!”

               That does nothing to deter the young lion from shaking his family by the shoulder.

               “Papa says we’re going to a birthday in Briar Valley!”

               Leona’s body tenses.

               No.

               “Cheka!”

               Faster than he has in a long time, the elder lion reaches for his phone. Scrolling through messages he shamefully re-reads, he feels the vice in his chest. His grip creaks around the device as his hand shakes.

               No.

               He knows better. He knows he shouldn’t. But he’s so pathetically helpless.

               “When are we leaving?”

               Fuck.

Riddle Rosehearts was not one to show his emotions in front of people. When you left Twisted Wonderland, he wondered if you even cared for anyone there. For him. When Headmaster Crowley called him and some other second years to his office, he was suspicious of the break in protocol.

Upon receiving his tape, Riddle went back to class. He couldn't break the rules of the school building, no matter how much he wanted to see you... to hear your voice again. When class let out for the day, Riddle made an excuse to have a studying room in the library to himself. Specifically, the one with the television.

"Dear Riddle," you said, starting the tape off like a letter. And he fell for it. He clung onto every word you said, closing his hands onto nothing as his fingernails dug into his skin.

And in that moment, he knew that you did care. For everyone. For him.

When Ruggie Bucchi was called to the front office, he thought he was being accused of stealing something... again. Which wasn't exactly false, he had more than likely nicked something off a counter in the last couple of days. He didn't know though, as his mind was too hazy with the thoughts of you.

Walking into the office with a full story and rebuttal, he was caught off guard with the other second years—especially Riddle—being in the room as well. He followed as they all lined up, and received a tape in order. He kept it hidden as he ditched class, finding a library room to lock himself in.

Looking side to side, Ruggie surveyed the area before he took out the tape and placed it into the player.

"Hey Ruggie," you said. "I know you're going to do so well in life."

And that was all it took to break him. He could barely listen to your words as he cried, the wound of you leaving still fresh in his mind. He could only catch the last of what you said as he tried to regulate his shuddering.

"...and please, for the love of the Seven, know that Leona isn't your responsibility. You're your own person without him. You're strong. Thank you, Ruggie."

Azul Ashengrotto desperately wanted to keep you in Twisted Wonderland. He wanted you to agree to any and all contracts that he flew your way, with the punishment for not fulfilling the impossible request was to stay there. But you never took it.

He was surprised when he was handed the VHS tape. In all honesty, he didn't know what it contained. Returning to the Mostro Lounge at the end of the day, he turned the tape on while he worked on contracts. But, his quill slipped and the ink splotched when he heard your voice call his name.

"...I'm so impressed by how far you've come, Azul." your face, pixellated by the screen, smiled back at him. "You really know how to make something out of nothing!"

Azul was torn to pieces when the VHS tape ended, and reduced to static. He could barely hold in his tears when he asked for Jade to close the restaurant for the night, deciding to take the night off for once.

Jade Leech kept his composure fairly well, at least, in comparison to his twin brother. He dragged his brother to stand next to him as the headmage seemed to size them up. In an attempt to keep his level head, Jade closed his eyes. But all he saw was you leaving again, so he quickly decided that wasn't the best option.

Crowley had a smirk on his face as he held the tape in front of his face. A gesture that would make anyone mad, as it made them seem like a puppy. Annoyed, Jade snatched it from Crowleys hands, and walked away. He was now annoyed like his brother.

It was hard for Jade to watch your tape that was addressed to him. He was averting his eyes from your face, not wanting to see the person that had most recently hurt him. And the person who had hurt him the most. But his eyes didn't have the same idea. They always drifted back to you, and he'd always close his eyes to stop, but that just resulted in looking at you again.

Everything had you in it.

When Azul told him to close the Mostro Lounge for the night, he was grateful. He didn't want to hear your voice—now fresh in his mind—in the kitchen again, telling him how good his food looked, making him screw up his cutting and hurting his hands. He needed a break, and wasn't afraid to take it.

Still angry with you leaving, Floyd Leech stomped his way over to the headmage's office when he was called from his class along with Jade. He was annoyed when he was dragged into line, not really a fan of conformity. But, he was intrigued with his sudden possession of the tape.

Sprinting to the Mostro Lounge, Floyd eagerly pushed the tape into the VHS player in the VIP Area. But when he saw your face, he smashed the entire set. Ripping through the plastic, he barely stopped himself from smashing you.

Instead, he set your tape gently down on a windowsill before going to town on destroying the tables and chairs that surrounded him. He was going to have a field day with that room, and he didn't care how long he'd have to spend in the kitchens for it.

Your face reminded him of you, and that was one more memory that he just didn't want. Not that close to your departure.

Even though he knew that it was for the better, Kalim Al-Asim was still having a hard time keeping his head up after you left. He felt like even though he gave you a farewell party, there were still many unsaid things between the two of you.

Being called down to the headmaster's office was not one of the things on Kalim's bucket list. Of course, he wouldn't outright refuse, but he would never intentionally do something to warrant a call for him to appear there. Nothing clicked into place when he lined up with the other second years to receive tapes from the headmaster. He never truly seemed like the giving type to Kalim. But his intuition could always be wrong.

It was hard for Kalim to blow off class, but he did it anyway. He really wanted to know what was on the tape that he was handed, and he let his impatient nature get the better of him. Of course, he had a VHS tape in his room. What self-respecting son from a multi-millionaire household doesn't have their own VHS player?

"Kalim!!" your voice was upbeat, and you made a motion to hug the camera that was separating the two of you. He knew, deep down, that much more was in between you and him. But for now, he just wanted to pretend that it was only a screen.

He was crying by the end. He knew you didn't want him to, and you wanted him to keep his upbeat mentality. But with you gone... it was harder than ever. And the recording just rubbed salt in the wound that was reopened when you said his name.

Jamil Viper's eyebrows raised when he saw Kalim in the headmage's room, along with the rest of the second years. He was expecting something, but not... this.

Of course, after he got his tape from Headmage Crowley, he followed Kalim to wherever he was going. He waited behind closed doors as Kalim watched his own tape, and heard the boy under his watch cry.

He was scared to put his own tape in, because he knew what it did to Kalim. Jamil didn't bother to ask Kalim to use his VHS tape, rather going somewhere else and finding a dusty one is some storage. Plugging it in, he was only somewhat prepared to see your face on the screen.

"Hi Jamil, thanks for plugging this in." you smiled considerately. "I don't know how much time you'll have to watch it, but I hope you can spare a couple of minutes."

And he did. For however long you were talking, Jamil focused on nothing but you, letting his limbs go numb and his ears go deaf to everything but you.

Once again, you had his attention. And he would surely miss the feeling.

Asleep in the courtyard, Silver didn't know that he had to go to the headmage's office. He was found by Crowley and woken up to walk back to the room alongside the adult. He was grateful for being woken, as he was having the same nightmare as he had had nights before. That you had kept leaving, and he couldn't move as it happened. As you walked through the mirror. And that was exactly what happened, but no one would tell him that.

He was confused with the tape. Why did he need it? Who was it from? All the questions clouded Silvers already tired brain. As he dragged himself to an empty classroom, Silver almost fell back asleep until he heard your voice.

"Silver~," your tone was teasing. "Hello sleepy boy, I hope this doesn't take up too much time so you can go back to sleeping."

But he didn't mind. Take as long as you want. Hell, take all year. Just.. keep talking. Keep going. Maybe he'll finally have good dreams.

Who to partner up with in a survival horror scenario

My number one call is on either Rook or Ortho

Rook is a hunter and we've seen him piss people off to get what he wanted in the vignette. He has the skill to survive boy.

Ortho on the other hand is a murder bot on the loose. He can analyze the whole scene and goes, "We can find food here" or "Threat detected! Getting ready to eliminate it!"

Savanaclaw Section

I'm torn! Jack has the brawn, Ruggie has the brain while Leona has both but he's a lazy ass. He might make us do the job to feed instead.

Diasomnia Section

Yeah, they are all doing well except that being with Silver is kinda dangerous considering he can just fall asleep. Lilia and Malleus can whoop their ass, Sebek is Sebek.

Idia, uhh, (peaces out) his technology won't help.

I keep thinking about the dungeon monster AU.

I know it's not as popular as my other ideas, but I just have some ideas. The age of reader varies based on the story idea. Being very young in Octavinelle's part, and being an adult in Idia's for example. I put a poll at the end to see which catches the most interest.

Meeting Heartslabyul. Reader and Grim travel through dungeon. It's generally considered the safest floor because as long as you don't disturb the rose like vines that cover the walls. You accidentally run into two young monsters tending to the roses. Through an accident either Grim or the monsters(which you have learned are named Ace and Deuce) end up damaging the flowers and incurred the wrath of the Lord of that floor, Riddle. The reader, manages to convince Riddle not to harm Grim or the duo, but it turns out, due to the extensive rules governing the dungeon, they must take responsibility and help maintain the dungeon gardens, least Ace, Deuce, and Grim become fertilizer. Reader ends up bonding with the whole Heartslabyul crew and becomes a witch who heavily specializes in plant based spells and potions, with Riddle's flowers being a primary ingredient. People come seeking out reader as a kind of middle man because they're the only one allowed to take any(after spending countless hours how to maintain and grow them)

Meeting Savannaclaw. The floor of beasts. Grim is cornered by several larger beast type monsters. Reader who is nothing more then a small child screams at them to go away and swings their staff trying to protect Grim, all while the beast laugh and jeer at their feeble attempt. It's Jack that comes to their defense. Not that he cares but, what kind of pride do they have for mocking a little human kid and a cat, either eat them or leave them alone! Ruggie who finds them after the other beasts rat Jack out and brings them to Leona. Reader is terrified but still finds the courage to speak up. Leona finds them amusing, a tiny cub of a human surrounded by a pack of predators and can still find their voice? Interesting. Alright little human, you're going to work for Leona now. Try to keep up.

Meeting Octavinelle. Reader is hired by a group of explorers. Their magic isn't the strongest, but it's still useful. However, it turns out the explorers are actually a group of mercenaries with unsavory morals. The group is attacked by Floyd and Jade. The reader watches in horror as Grim is grabbed and thrown into the water as a distraction. The group flee leaving reader panicking as Grim is drowning. They have to save him because he'll either drown or be torn apart! The reader only being a child with weak spells tries to use magic to run on water but falls in, weakly swimming to Grim. The mercenaries use the distraction to escape, leaving reader and Grim to their death. It turns out the twins aren't all that interested in killing a small kid and a wet cat(weak prey is no fun and the mercenaries looked way more fun to fight). They end up taking them to Azul who makes a deal with reader. Work for him and you're under his protection. Earn your keep and you'll have food in your belly and coin in your pocket. Besides the odd jobs he requires of them in the outside world, their blood is the perfect ingredient to create temporary human transformation potions for Azul and the twins. Often being escorted by one of the twins or Azul himself on business trips to the outside work. Keeping Reader close allows Azul's web of influence to expand exponentially. Reader and Azul's relationship almost becomes like father and child as reader grow into adulthood.

Meeting Scarabia. Lost and hungry. Grim's nose catches something delicious and poor reader has to chase after him. To their surprise they find Grim chowing down on a freshly cooked meal. They're surprised how kind and welcoming the white scaled naga Kalim is being. They're wary because, why would he share his meal so freely? They eventually meet with Jamil, the black and red scaled cobra naga. Jamil, scolding Kalim for being so careless around a possible threat, but Kalim learning about reader being an orphan can't help but invite them to the naga colony. He can't imagine living like that! Reader who finds themselves apologizing to Jamil for intruding even if they were invited by Kalim, offering to help whenever they can. Reader who slowly builds a relationship with Jamil and the two grow into a comfortable relationship.

Meeting Pomefiore. Reader and Grim who are separated when Grim is snatched by large talons and carried off. Reader who follows in pursuit and ends up blasting the perpetrator with a weak fire spell, causing it to crash and release Grim. Reader who learns that the creature is a young harpy named Epel who was on one of his very first hunts but now will have trouble flying because of the burns. Reader who feels bad for hurting him but, he attacked first and stole Grim! Reader who helps carry Epel back to his colony on their back. Reader who finds themselves under the gaze of Vil, a gorgeous siren like creature. Vil, who decides to let them stay. In the condition they take care of Epel until he is well enough to fly again. Reader, who learns more and more about harpies and sirens while living with the colony. Reader, who ends up learning how Rook has integrated both human and harpies hunting techniques together. Reader who ends up growing up with Epel and the duo become a powerhouse hunting team. Hard to keep an eye on a predator when you're being hunted on both land and air.

Meeting Ignyhide. Reader is a young academic researcher. Finding a group of treasure hunters who will help them get to the Ignyhide floor of the dungeon. Reader's goal is to learn as much as possible about the rumored illusive dryder Lord. There's very little in the academic books and reader's so excited to show any promising information! They just want for once not to be mocked for their curiosity. Reader who ends up lagging behind because they spotted a small Ortho golem and were fascinated by it, stopping to try to study the creature's movements without disturbing it. The sound of the treasure hunters in a scuffle sends the reader hiding and they watch as the group is captured in webbing traps. The whole group is stripped of any useful artifacts or armor and is thrown out of the dungeon via magic. Reader, ends up blowing their cover and is spotted by Idia and the crew of Ortho golems. Reader, ends up getting a clear view of Idia and their expression turns into absolute excited fascination! Poor Idia ends up skittering backwards away from their barrage of questions because he's not used to people being interested in him and not just what they can steal. The two end up bonding and forming a close friendship. Reader often leaving with at least one Ortho golem for protection and so Idia can know they're safe. Always to return with new things for Idia's interest and they become one of the only people who can ethically source rare dryder silk.

Meeting Diasomnia. Accidentally ending up alone on one of the possibly most dangerous floors. Reader ends up finding a head on the ground. Grim and then think some poor kid got decapitated. That is until it greets them. It turns out the head is named Silver, and it's not uncommon for his head to fall asleep and his body to wander off on its own. Reader carries Silver through the dungeon in hopes to find his body, and runs into Sebek. The crocodile wants to attack reader and Grim for trespassing, but Lilia shows up and convinces him to stand down. Lilia who brings reader to meet the dungeon lord Malleus, a great and ancient dragon. Reader ends up being adopted into the Diasomnia family some time after they learn about them being an orphan with no home of their own. Young humans need companionship to grow healthy after all. Growing up with Silver and Sebek under Lilia's tutelage and learning how to fight. Malleus taking them under his wing and teaching them ancient dragon magic. They become one of the only humans let alone witches in the world who know how due to either the extreme rarity of dragons or that dragons consider humans to be untrustworthy or dangerous.

[When making the plan for the Spelldrive Tournament, Ruggie and Leona did everything they could to ensure Nox never found out about what they were doing: they didn't care about what other herbivores thought - but Nox? They would be torn if he found out. He meant the most to them as Ruggie's Brother & Leona's Savior - they couldn't lose him.]

Nox (Making dinner): There you two are. *Walks over and gives them some homemade jerky* Here. This should hold you off until dinner is ready. I'm glad you're both back, there was another accident; a Heartslabyul Student fell down some stairs and broke his arm, this time. You both better take care of yourselves, I don't want anything happening to you two. *Hugs them*

Ruggie: Thanks, bro.

Leona: Yeah.
