rtrnr is actually one of my fav christmas movies of all time <333 right next to klaus and emmet otter's jug band christmas. nobody has anything on them.

extra fun fact: i have figurines of all of the characters in rtrnr and a few from tywasc!!! like antique ones that are in good condition!!! i have a little stand for them and everything!!! theyre so cute (and i have 3 snow misers for some reason?)

anyway heres the thing u actually asked me for

i find it funny how WRONG these sizes are lol- like yukon (the hiker) (aka sigil) is NOT taller than dusk NOR sun- i tried to just mess around and make it so that the sizes were a bit more accurate but sun is suddenly pravtically unrecognizable from hermey LOL

also yeah. jessy = clarice jumpscare (i have not checked jessy or dusk lore in forever so thats prob wrong)

UGH, RIGHT, FUCK RtRNR SANTA. Like, wtf does having a shiny nose have to do with Rudolph's ability to fly and help Santa's fat, egotistical 'I work one fucking day a year, but always cancel Christmas at the drop of a hat' ass look goo- I mean, help him do his job????

He knew Rudy would've made a great addition to his team when he saw him dominate the reindeer games, but oh noooo, a red, shiny nose (which is very Christmasy, I might add) isn't 'normal', and the King of Jingling has an image of perfection to uphold don'tcha know!

"Oh, you must believe that on Christmas Eve / I won't pass you by!" Yeah, unless you don't fit his insane standards of perfection. What, does he ignore all the kids in the world with physical or mental disabilities or something??

And if you watch the special carefully, Santa doesn't actually apologize to Rudy for his disgusting attitude toward 'misfits', particularly how he treated him. He just promises to find homes for all the misfit toys, and then a minute later goes right back to berating him for his nose ("Rudolph, could you tone it down a bit?? I mean, that nose of yours!")-

-Until a split second later when he quickly realizes he can actually get some use out of the young buck's "non-conformity", then doesn't stop singing the praises of his nose and him.

Sure, Santa, it will be an honor to guide you tonight... right into the side of a mountain. (Only problem with that idea is, he'd kill all those poor Misfit Toys too).

Kris Kringle ('Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town), on the other hand, is the world's biggest sweetie and I love him. I used to have a crush on him when I was little.

I love that all the Rankin Bass Christmas Specials are connected with one another but I refuse to believe that these two Santa’s are the same person

I don't care about all the backlash it gets nowadays, I still hold a place in my heart for Rudolph's 1964 Rankin Bass special. ❤

Dedicated to the memories of Paul Soles (who voiced Hermey) and Alfie Scopp (who voiced both Fireball and Charlie-in-The-Box), who sadly passed away this year at the ages of 90 and 101.

Ik he's one dimensional and an asshole but hey, I still love him he's so skrunkly-- and it gives me the freedom of headcanons!

As you can see, I HC him as aroace! Okay, it was mostly as a joke at first because arrow ace, aroace-- hahaha funny-- but I actually dig it more now, it can explain why he treated Zoey poorly and was super clingy, maybe he wanted so badly to feel normal-- a stretch but hey, it's fun!

I also gave him muttonchops so he looks more like his dad, Cupid!
