I am more than 65% into the book & I am finding myself putting the book down more number of times than I imagined.

I flew through the parts involving the school but I am finding it hard to get through the parts that I am reading now. Anybody else having trouble like me?

This was an ok book for me. Too many plotlines, too many investigations. Everything did come together in the end but it was not half as satisfactory or enjoyable as the other books. I did like Yukawa & kyohei's mentor mentee kind of relationship. But Yukawa's genius & deciphering skills were not quite on display as expected in a series named after him. Also what was the role of desmec anyway? It didn't make any sense to include a huge corporation. The equation is not accurate after all? Malice still remains my favourite book from this author because of the sleuthing & mind games. But this book was far superior when it came to heart of a story & depth. I am not sure if it's as memorable as the rest of the author's stories, but I would love to see this adapted into a movie (has it been adapted?) . I won't reread it but it's definitely a one time read book. My first Agatha Christie. I simply can’t believe I haven’t read a single Christie book till date. I can blame that on my fear of being disappointed. I was anxious that it might not live upto the hype.

But, now I can say it’s well worth the hype for sure, especially considering the period these books were written in.

5 ⭐s for writing. Her accessible writing style was one of the best parts of the book.

4.5 ⭐s for pacing & story length. At 317 pages this story was neither too long nor too short! It was the perfect length for me.

4 ⭐s for story. The premise becomes a tad repetitive & slightly boring because at one point you stop caring about the deaths & be like “Yes, all of them die, can we solve the mystery already?”

3 ⭐s for the ending. This ties back to my previous point. There is so much focus on the murders per se, that the climax seems too short & anti-climactic. I would have liked the murders to be shorter & the mystery resolution to be longer. But then who am I to judge the legend of thrillers?

Overall an interesting, unique & a decent read. Will I pick up more AC books? Maybe, let’s see. They all seem to be pretty short & quick reads so, possibly Yes!
