A theory about Tesla’s death:

We don’t know for sure yet that Barrett did it. We don’t know for sure yet that it was murder.

But we do know that Barrett has been working with/for/being manipulated by the Cult of Hades

Who do have a history of preying on those who’s sleeplessness would go unnoticed

Thinking about Wilde’s curse, which was caused by the CoH

Thinking about ‘Tesla did a Tesla standard and pulled an all-nighter’

Thinking about how we’ve just learned that the only safe place has been compromised, possibly for longer than we know

Thinking about how the squizzards know that the party doesn’t trust them either, and that once things are fixed they won’t have the security of being needed by the world/Barrett/Other London/the party that they do now

current theories:

sumurtnyel is infected and killed tesla, and is either a really good actor about it or the collapsing at the sight of him was the realisation hitting

augusta is infected?? not much to back this up except that she's important enough for it to be an issue

tesla was killed by barret mid-transformation into ... whatever is attacking the party (faking a bear attack to frame sumurtnyel)

do we know that lovelace can still be trusted? she's currently alone with skraak, the killswitch, and a surprise door. i dont think she could have been faking it all along, but could she be infected?

i know einstein said the one who got away was dimension locked so no one could teleport in or out of it, but that was before we knew about the door in the lab and if the lab is compromised the teleportation blocks may well be too

yknow i dont like barrett but i do respect him a bit more than i did last week for not actually just going to sulk in his room when he knows these people are planning to kill him, and for devising a way to make them think that’s where he was. even if it wasn’t exactly machiavellian, well, it worked.
