Due to some past trauma from previous fandoms, I'm not particularly one to engage in fandom related discourse anymore, but when you not only name-drop me, but continue to perpetuate lies about not only me, but also my friends.... that's when I'd rather "clear my name" than allow for a nasty rumor to circulate when I know it's out there.

I want to go through everything that went down in order as best as possible. Even though I’ve spent so much time on this receipt post, truly this issue was something very small, the root of the issue lies with CookieRuby herself, given she decided to continue to create and perpetuate lies and rumors about myself and others. I know she will most likely continue to make up whatever she wants to have happened to obtain pity from those who do not know the context, but I thought that if she was going to do so regardless, I might as well let everyone know mine and my friends’ side of things. Because sadly I got some very worried and confused messages wondering if the statements were truthful. Hopefully this reassures most that they are in fact not.

I also would like to say while I am deeply upset that someone would lie about me like this and continue to emotionally manipulate, then double down on it all… I still do want to say that if you know people who act as such to please help them get the help they need. The timeline of this basically showcases us interacting at 3 points ever, but its obvious in her own obsessive world she has created, it has been brewing with her much longer. Which all of this is genuinely concerning and I hope she gets help. Despite my anger.

In the beginning

I believe I knew about them prior to them joining the old Darkwing Duck RP server I used to be active in back in 2022. If you know me, I follow practically every artist in the fandom. Especially as the fandom loses traction and there are less and less of us actively creating works. So naturally I followed. I even found her oc interesting. I mean why wouldn’t I? Magentus, while more of an oc now than he was in the past, at the end of the day still is my sona so to speak. I love seeing others put themselves into their own work in their own ways. Unfortunately once I got to know them, their attitude towards others when it came to their oc soured my interest.

In a lot of her posts, she makes claims towards my friends and I (as well as I suppose vague unknown other “harrassers” prior to us. I only put it in air quotes because the amount of lying she does, ironic I know, makes me question the validity of anything she says.) that we actively hated and made fun of her for disliking Drakepad. As you can see in the screenshots provided, that is exactly the oppposite.

I also want to mention the screenshots here are an anonymous friend’s server that I used to be active in. In the screenshots provided by Soy, it refers to their old server. Though I believe there is a point in our screenshots where one is referenced in another. (I am currently not looking at them, so I can recall which is referenced in which.) I wanted to make sure there was no confusion with that. These were provided to me by Drake. I could not find them on my own. This was her asking about playing her oc initally. and some stuff I didn't screenshot previously I think?

On Soy’s Side of things

Initially I had another draft of this whole rant, but because of these screenshots I got so peeved that I spiraled into a mad disorganized rage due to the ridiculousness of all of this. So I thought it would be best to rework my words into a more composed response. Personally I had read the first set of messages after they had happened, but when it comes to the discord screenshots, these were new to me. We were all suspicious of her potentially using an alt account on tumblr to ask as a “friend”. Because while I cannot say the same for my friends, I had online friends when I was young who pulled very similar stunts to continue to emotionally manipulate me into remaining their friend and under their thumb. I do not fuck with that sort of behavior anymore. And to note from Soy they said that they had joined their old dead DWD server and immediately dmed them. The obsessive manner of her continuing whatever game she thinks this is is a genuine concern and big alarm sounding that she needs to talk to someone. She is older than me, but I have already dealt with extremely similar people in my preteens, so it’s sad to see someone being so immature like this. (I hit the 30 post limit so the screenshots will be in the reblogs for anything missing)

Starting with the post that finally prompted this response, I want to cover my personal opinion of each thing mentioned. Unfortunately as you will see, I do not have proof for my own ponytown run in personally, but if you read all of the messages provided, you can probably tell who’s more truthful considering it’s a 1-0 with me having evidence and her none. You’ll notice she remains vague when she can, which is most of the time.

First we need to all heavily note that this was a supposed dream. She is her character Hannah in her dream, alongside Drake. Soy, an anon, and myself appear as “hooded people” in her dream and do an incantation on her in order to curse her to not be with Drake. I suppose this causes a curse that forces Drakepad to be real in her dream? Then we say quotes she is claiming we said. I will get to that in a moment. This is a summary so that if she deletes the post linked, you still have me explaining it. (I wrote this last night, unfortunately as of right now while I was acquiring links she did in fact delete the post. Likely because of my warning post from the other day. So she is stalking my account still.) Then her own oddly crafted happy ending where the spell is broken and she gets her ending of support.

Now I’ll cover the “quotes”

“Drakepad is the only true ship”

You will here her claim people saying this to her often. In reference to my friends, such claims have been proven false. We supported her opinion despite our own. Even comforting her and letting her know its awful for anyone to try and pressure her over such a simple difference in taste. Also adding the fact we supported her oc x canon even though she could not RP it in the old server.

“Darkwing DENIED YOU” with her claiming it is something I said to her in Ponytown.

I will go more in depth in exactly what I said in ponytown further down, but I never once said this. She insisted that my opinion was that her oc x canon was not valid. I was Negaduck in game, then I specifically swapped to my Magentus pony and stated how hypocritical it would be for me to say such a thing. Then proceeded to let her know, though I was annoyed, that it’s alright for her to not ship something she does not like, but continuing to bring up that you hate a ship to people you know don’t mind it or even ship it themselves is rude. Then she proceeded to do something I can only describe as something I am seasoned to as the son of an emotionally inmature mother. Again I will elaborate in the ponytown section.

“She gaved me PTSD by her DrakePad hate. And with her tumblr post who HURTED my friends saying we “FORCED” Drakepad on our server she lied.” Which was aparently what Soy said.

I cannot speak to how soy feels completely on this, but I know they did not develop post traumatic stress disorder from this. Nor have they said this quote if you could not guess. I believe the friend was the one in the screenshots between them and soy on discord I shared above. Again, I do not trust that these are her actual friends. This is not to say she couldn’t potentially have friends who agree with her, I just don’t trust her truthfulness especially with said discord dms. But you as the reader can make your own opinion on that. From what I was told by Soy, they joined (I believe after they realized they couldn’t do oc x canon with our Darkwing in the old server, which was his choice to make.) and asked if they could do darkwing x hannah. Soy and others kindly let her know that they were working on a drakepad relationship, but saw no problem in doing dw x lp x hannah. She accepted I think? But regardless then returned to our server to both brag about how someone finally let her, but soon ranted about how uncomfortable poly stuff made them. Some of this is word of mouth, but you can see other parts referenced back above.

“You deserve no friends.” by an anon

Again, I question the validity of this claim, but assuming someone actually said this to her this is horrible to say to someone. Back in 2020 I dealt with prosh*ppers in a problematic fandom harrasing me because I outwardly was against their adult x minor ship. Unfortunately if you know what fandom I mean. (keep guesses to yourself, I don’t want to bring it up in public.) You know it’s very popular unfortunately. I was sent death threats and people telling me how unworthy of friends, love, or anything they could throw at me. I would never say this to another nor condone saying this to another. Even if CookieRuby is in the wrong here. Everyone deserves the chance to have friends and flourish as a person. I’m angry but I’d never wish such a thing. And while I’m at it I would like to suggest to you as the reader that if you are considering doing such a thing don’t. Block her, move on. It’s not worth it. I’m only here right now to give context, then I’m done. I do not want anyone going after her. I’m just here to show my receipts, not to harrass her. I’d just prove her point if I did that. I’m not that sort of person.

And I was shown her speaking about her inferiority complex. I do not have one, so I cannot speak to how true this is, but considering this was March 2023...it seems despite her admitting this, she has obviously continued to lie about people. So I don’t know if she has that complex, but she is a chronic liar at the very least so there’s that I guess.

Ponytown run ins

The provided screenshots below are from before what I’ll be describing to you. I had to re-listen to a voice note I sent after this. It’s all I have besides the discord message of me realizing it was her. I do not want to attach it just because I keep my voice to myself most times. I’m shy gang.

Starting off I was just finishing my Magentus pony. For a while they had a color palette I had just chose myself without reference and I was finally giving them their reference colors. I was returning to the darkwing rock circle I was hoping to start a darkwing pony hangout at, when I saw a Darkwing pony approach. Now, I don’t know if this was coincidence of perhaps she knows about the hangout from my story. Considering she has alts, she probably was checking my story, but that is speculation. I immediately am eager to friend them because of their pony. But of course the first words from her are “why do you have me blocked?” my mood immediately changes as it hit me that someone had told me prior she had an account. Likely due to the incident in the other ponytown screenshots. I ask to confirm if it’s her and she says yes.

So I simply put that she cause discomfort to my friends and I and that I use the block liberally. During this I am scrambling to try and block her on ponytown too, but unfortunately my block list is too full because I have been blocking Dream SMP ponies left and right. So I decide maybe here is where I can put my foot down on things. I also mentioned a side thing about how the old server I was in had a policy about posting over people, but she seemed to focus on this more. (I do not recall if this was enforced at the time, but still it was focused on way more than the main issue I was bringing up.) I mentioned how she’d post over others. I told her that it wasn’t my main point and to forget that and move onto the main issue. I explain to her as adult as I can back to her Drakepad issue that “You were being rude to people because you could get your ship. We tried to be nice and I just blocked you because I didn’t want to deal with that [anymore].” and the only thing she got from that was me saying “rude” I suppose so she responded saying “oh so I’m the toxic one?” and boy have I heard this one get pulled on me before. It’s giving emotional manipulation. I calmly reply “That is not what I said.” I said something else that I couldn’t recall, though likely just me restating what happened, then she said “well I guess I’m sorry-” I was on a call at this time with my boyfriend while he was on break as this went down, so I began speaking to him irl. I guess I did not respond to her in time because she continued with the classic backhanded comment of “Since everyone wants me to apologize anyway” or something to that effect. It was in that way that someone who does this wants you to just accept the apology even though it was not a meaningful one. She does not have to apologize, no one is making her, but that was her attitude about it. I thought I’d just end it off there with a joke to myself so I didn’t lose it. I went “I have a mother, I can be emotionally manipulated at home, I don’t need this game from you. Bye.” and logged off. Honestly there is when it actually got personal. Somewhere in the middle she insisted what I had mentioned earlier with us hating oc x canon and drakepad and all that and that statement from earlier still follows.

I even have a later note worrying there would be a post on her tumblr, but I checked once and there was nothing so I thought maybe she had gotten over herself…..we are here now so nope. Also this was 2/2/2024 for timeline’s sake.

I was transcribing from a voice note, so if it seems like there are any holes in that ask me, I’ll try to fill in what I missed.

Misc

Lastly here are things I did not know how to organize into the rant. As well as some people making mention to their experiences with her in reply to my Instagram story. I swore I would get all I could and I meant it.

And anyways thank you to those who actually took the time to read all of this mess. I don’t know how I did drama back in the day this has truly been so exhausting to write, but it was important that I did. Honestly despite my anger this is really dumb to have to make, but I do not like being lied about. I especially don’t like my friends also being lied about. And again just block her and do not engage. I do not condone harassment of any kind. I am going to go sleep as I finish writing this. This was a tiring experience. She’ll probably continue but now I am satisfied knowing we’re all on the same page.

Hi, I’m @starlightcosmos04245 and I’m the one behind this dorky Maxie - though I mostly go by his German name, Marc (I am German, and have a separate OC who’s related to this Maxie, whose name is… Maxie (too much Maxie). That’s why lol).

Marc lives in a universe of the multiverse many years into the future. The events of ORAS have long been said and done, he’s still the leader of Team Magma (although they’re known to the public as "Magma Research Laboratories" now. Internally they’re still Team Magma) and is actively working with Team Aqua (aka. "Aqua Marine Laboratories" (they weren’t very creative) to better the environment. Sadly, since they’re still under the radar of the government of Hoenn (which is mostly led by people who have no clue about anything + the Pokémon League of Hoenn), Devon Co. has a say in their affairs. Marc is pissed off about it, Archie as well. Just fyi. Marc just always tries to keep up a calm facade. One court trial and probation are enough for him in his lifetime. He doesn’t need any more problems than he already has (the public still views him as public enemy #1 together with Archie).

HEADCANONS/LORE

His story takes place many years after the events of ORAS, especially a version where both Maxie and Archie gave their stupid ideas a try and both kinda succeeded. Though they both got stopped by Lizzy (my OC who’s basically a stand-in for each of the protagonists. She has her own blog (@ematsubusa), if you want to interact with her too) who later becomes Maxies wife after being done with her journeys. They don’t have a romantic relationship before she finishes travelling. She initiated it. He was a nervous mess. Big-ass old virgin.

In the timeline they live in, they have three children - a pair of fraternal twin sons (8 yrs old atm) and a daughter (5 yrs old atm).

This Maxie cares about his family very much. He sometimes can be caught rambling about his “little Numels”, as he endearingly calls them.

This Maxie is a descendant of the Diamond Clans founder from PLA (the guy in the paintings so looks like RSE Maxie). He’s not directly Adamans descendant, but Adamans uncle’s who migrated from Hisui to Hoenn long before the events of PLA.

Maxie’s father is one of the last remaining descendants of the clan… who takes it all wayyyy too seriously.

My next OC for retrOCtober isn't exactly idiotverse related. I mean, he kinda is, but I'll get to that, eventually! 😂

This boy's name is Lukas, and I came up with him waaaayyyy back in the early 2000s, I'd say. He was my main protagonist in an RP I was writing with an old online friend back then, and we didn't start out with Lukas and the gang, he was already part of our "Next Generation" at the time - ah well, it's all a little hard to explain. The setting was still in good old Germany and it was basically your average, age-appropriate school drama, spiced with over-the-top drama for our characters aaaand whatnot, yadda yadda, blaaah blaaah.

Long ass explanation and soul searching under the cut:

Lukas kinda embodied every boy I couldn't have back then. I was never a shy kid, but for some reason my old friends abandoned me after we switched schools after 6th grade, and I wasn't able to make new friends either. All of a sudden, I was was rendered "uncool", I became the unpopular girl who went unseen by most, even by her own family. I am currently working through all this in therapy, so I won't get into that here; all we need to know is that my school years were mostly awful and I also didn't get my happy end at the end of the teen movie. The reality was cold and hard. No one really wanted me around most of the time. I was tolerated at best. It was a simple as that.

Back to this boy, though. As I said, Lukas was everything I ever yearned for. He was the type of guy I was crushing on HARD back in my teenage years, but he also represented a lifestyle I was craving. He was one of the happy-go-lucky and cool alternative rock guys, with that slight brush of arrogance and aloofness, not too much but juuuust enough to make him endearing and interesting. It was the shaggy hair for me, as well as the cool clothes, always a bit shabby but never too shabby; just shabby enough to look wonderfully effortless. The type of guy who hung out with the slim, cool and confident girls (I was very chubby back then. Not a problem, you say? Yeah, no, try being a chubby teenage girl in the early 2000s.), who was always surrounded by friends, who everyone just knew and liked!

The type of guy I could only admire from a distance. A Lukas would never have looked my way, not even for a second.

That RP was fun for a good while, but things went downhill at some point, the way my friend wanted things to go was quite different from what I wanted. Even back then I wanted to weave in details, flesh out side characters, write actual character development… all things my friend didn't care about, she only wanted to play the main couples and that just no longer sat well with me after a while. These poor fictional people were barely in their twenties and had already faced lifelong drama, had several kids, faced gun violence… everything that could happen had happened to these young characters already. Everything, and a lot more. It was just FAR too unrealistic for my own taste.

I wasn't allowed to bring my own original ideas in, which is why I started molding and shaping our universe to my own liking. All in secret, of course. I scrapped most of the ridiculous things that had happened in the RP, rewrote the things I still liked and started writing the things I was never allowed to write. One by one, I scrapped/remodeled/replaced my friend's characters, too. Did that for a while, and it was fun in a way, but at the time (2007, 2008??) I had also discovered deviantart and wanted to be a part of that. I twisted and tweaked my universe here and there, but nothing would really fit or flow enough for me to say "Yup, that's it, that's what I'm gonna show the world!" so I went with various fanart for a while.

(I feel like mentioning that there was also a blue-eyed Lukas at some point, an alternate version of him who was basically the same person, and the universe had about the same tone, but he had a different circle of friends and everything was entirely free from the influence of the RP but that's a different story. 😂)

In 2008 or 2009 I discovered Tess Stone and his awesome work. I was drawn in first by his attempted webcomic "Without Void", but then he started writing "Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name" and maaaan, did that comic hit hard! The way it became popular, the way countless people were following it, bombarding Tess with questions and inquiries; and the way Tess managed to show his characters in all those funky and colourful artworks, the way he did all this so effortlessly… damn, I wanted that, too. I wanted it so bad. The comic and the ongoing hype really inspired me to try and get my own stuff out there.

My universe just kinda wasn't it, at least not the way it still was back then. I had enjoyed working on and off on it in private, but it never felt enough and it also never felt quite like "my own". Even though I had dropped most influences of my friend (the friendship was long over at the time), it still didn't feel quite right.

So Lukas and the others went through some changes, again. First of all, I went international. Lukas himself was still German, but he was now an immigrant living in the USA. I tried to make a supernatural world with zombies, I tried writing vampires and whatnot… ugh, I tried so many things but nothing really stuck with me. At some random point I had an idea, quite out of the blue, I think. I wanted to keep Lukas in the universe, but not the way he used to be. I had tried everything after all, but nothing really worked out. My gaze fell on his daughter instead, who was still a child in my then-universe.

That child was none other than my character Charlie. I aged Charlie up, she was now a 20-year-old college kid. I gave her her own environment, and I kept Lukas and the gang as the "first generation". And all of a sudden, I was hooked. I was in it for real this time. Everything just started coming to me. The experimental season 1 of my universe was born.

SO, in a way, that kid up there is THE original idiotverse character. The one everything else stemmed from. He was SO deserving of this redraw, I'd say. 😂

Sure! I'm happy to answer some questions!

I think with the addition of a visual medium it would most definitely be significantly easier, yes.

Well, I can't say for sure. I could explain for hours about how mainstream media forces a creative to conform their work within often-times hostile parameters. Nevertheless, I'd be blessed with the opportunity to try. That being said, I have a lot more creative freedom here on Youtube than anywhere else, at least by my standards.

I think it's very important. Conveying enough emotion without the added visuals means that it is ALL DOWN to vocal performance.

I am typically the primary voice, yes, but I must admit this is a very difficult question. I love to write stories of scifi and fantasy, I love to take concepts and ideas, pieces of dialogue and conveyed emotion and put them into an all expansive list of things to try, but I personally love bringing those emotions and ideas out myself. I find it fun! I suppose...I wouldn't! Writing is fun, don't get me wrong, but being able to perform it is part of my joy in creating what I make. If I stopped doing one, I'd have to find it elsewhere and that would take me away from doing the other thing.

I like to believe that, yes. It only makes sense that the writer knows the exact feeling to convey in a script, but you could call me vain for that if you like lol!

Listener characters are the bane of my existence lol! Okay, that was too dramatic. It's very difficult to write a character that doesn't talk, but represents...basically everyone! How do you compensate for that? And echoing dialogue is not something people do on a regular basis. No one talks like that, but we need to in order to get across what the listener is thinking at any given time, because if you don't, everyone is confused. It's quite frustrating and a hell of a dilemma in the scripting process.

Well, like I said earlier, I have to try and accommodate for everyone which is a challenge all on its own. It's VERY easy for the listener to become a talking head and I try my best to avoid it. Alas, I imagine even the greatest xlistener writer has fallen into that trap lol

No, it is not. I like 2D animation and RPGs.

Money? Budget? A lot more emphasis on visuals? When you start out as a content creator, you start with nothing and are tasked with making something, but with mainstream media, the network hands you a budget to make something. Granted those things might not be great given the parameters of the network, but hey! At least you can say you made something!

Very much so, yes. Zed is directly related to my insecurities and fears of not being enough as a person. Makkaro is related to my need for a work/life balance so that I might enjoy the little things while still giving my all. Albus is a toxic form of what I wanted to be when I grew up, a man who can fight through anything, but inside is deeply broken. Yargwynn is my running away from my problems in hopes that it'll all just go away. Mortallous is those problems always chasing me, always catching up. One day, I will tell a story of Zed realizing who he wants to be. That story will show that the man I really want to be, is myself. I will no longer be Good Boy Audios, but Good Man Audios. Yeah, it's cheesy as fuck, but hey, I like cheese.

..Zoey!!! There r so many possible explainations for why she is the way she is and she could genuinely be interesting. The potential is there and yes it's be predictable and cliche but c'mon this is tmf were talking about, id be totally down for it !!!

So I have been working on that were-animal game I threatened to do a while back, and I'm...fairly pleased with where I'm at in at least the general concept phase. Lore feels good, I have some solid antagonist ideas, I have a gameplay loop working, all that fun stuff. Now I'm starting to get to the scary parts (having to nail down a system and figure out just how I'm going to put this thing out into the world.)

This got weirdly self-reflective about my history with gaming instead of mostly talking about the actual mechanics so I'm gonna put it under a cut. :U

The tl;dr if you just want to know what I'm (probably) doing:

High-ish power system

Medium crunch (I'm aiming about for the level of Exalted Essence)

(This means a pretty good amount of powers and shapeshifted forms provide bonuses to keep track of)

Trying to avoid specific point-related bookkeeping so there won't be a fuel stat in the way that Chronicles of Darkness or Exalted has it where there are pips that rise and fall

Milestone "leveling" most likely (no actual level traditional leveling system, just skill/attribute pools, powers, and a character rank system similarish to a power stat)

Dice pool

(Yes, I did really like ExEss, don't judge me)

I am...attempting to come up with something more than a binary pass-fail system but I would rather not steal PBTA's iteration on it

Social combat (sorry, I know a lot of people are bearish on it but I like it :c It's the one thing I don't want to toss)

I have never tried to work within a system that's 100% of my own making. I think I'm a little gun-shy of it because one of the GMs I used to play with (who I stopped playing with because she's a horrible person in addition to being a horrible GM, incredibly long story, send me booze money to get drunk if you want to hear it because I don't want to be sober when thinking too hard about her) was really insistent on trying to make her own system and her game design sense was...well, not great. Didn't have a good head for dice odds and went for the most simple solutions possible (d6 with small dice pool, 1s are fails, boxcars are crits) without thinking about actual gamefeel, expected players to handle most of creation of character abilities and powers (as in, doing most of the design lifting for her outside of the basic dice systems) but also was incredibly thin-skinned about feedback. She had the desire to be famous and make this big idea but was not willing to do the hard work to make it happen.

And like, I'm somewhat sensitive (I would not call myself the most confident person) so I'm used to feeling a bit hurt by negative feedback, but, you know, you have to listen to players to see how they're reacting to the game especially since you need to get out of your own head when designing mechanics. Critique is how you get better, as much as it hurts. Unfortunately she also hated learning other peoples' systems even if you wrote her cheat sheets so...I never really got to play anything for more than five sessions or so for quite some time.

(Upside: the drive that gave me to search for actual active RP groups led to me meeting some of my favorite people in the world.)

Anyways. I think that's led to me kind of psyching myself out. I've kind of gone from the mentality of "yeah I have a great head for mechanics" to "oh no I'm just a savant with one singular system." I...might have to start with brand-X-ing a system I'm familiar with (ft. minor changes) (guess which one) and then start tweaking from there until it doesn't feel like The Werewolf the Forsaken We Have at Home.

I think it both helps and hurts that a lot of my design philosophy is somewhat similar. I'm trying to do a higher power level, at least in the same way that Chronicles of Darkness has the "if your PCs throw enough resources at something, they will get what they want, it's just a matter of what it will cost them and if it was something they should have wanted in the first place." I also have an extremely strong preference for dice pool systems, I just think the dice odds feel so much better than single-roll systems.

I've also always liked being able to downgrade a failed roll to a dramatic failure since it's led to some really fun situations, but I think the inverse could be fun as well, i.e. if you REALLY feel like you need a roll to succeed you can upgrade it to a single success at a cost that could potentially bite you in the ass later. It's another way to potentially cause drama and give players more meta-options to control how the game can proceed.

On the subject of meta-options I'd really like to give social systems some mechanical weight since I honestly enjoy social combat. I know that's kind of a controversial opinion but I just feel like it gives more tension to negotiations and the like and it gives me a lot more design space to work with when designing what would traditionally fall under "utility powers" as an umbrella.

So that's sorta what I'm working with right now. The scary part is I will need to playtest this at some point and that means recruiting people and that also means starting up what will likely be a community server to keep in touch with people instead of just vomiting out whatever thoughts pop into my head on tumblr. One Fear.

8. if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you’d write one for…

tough question to answer because when do I ever leave anything I've written for more than a few months before feeling compelled to continue writing. I'm going to cheat slightly and say there are two things I'd love to continue:

One is the RP I did with @corpocyborg which I'm having trouble finding right now (why am I such a terrible tagger) where Valentine and Valerie did a gig together. It was just such a blast playing them off each other and they made a surprisingly great team. Hard to find a canon where they can both really shine but gosh. That was so much fun.

The second is also OC-related, the stuff I've written with Valentine and @another-corpo-rat 's Victoria Crane. Those two's dynamic is so funny I don't know what they are but it's toxic af. I wrote some smut about the two of them and now I've been thinking about what that meeting over coffee is like afterwards. (I've been watching a lot of killing eve)

Collabs are fun! I love getting the chance to reverse engineer what makes other people's OCs tick and then try to faithfully recreate them in a story.

17. talk about your writing and editing process

I think I answered this one once but I forget and I'm just going to wing it!

I'll be honest I haven't really figured out "plotting" in an advanced way, and am sticking within shouting distance of canon on the longfic, and have fleeting fits of reason which I don't plot longterm at all because it's kind of a cool-down mess-around kind of fic I add stuff to when it sounds fun.

I guess I'll start with considering the shape of what I'm writing –> what the boundaries are, if that makes sense? rough length, and I do mean *rough* like: <1k, 2-10k, nope we're going to have multiple chapters.

Then I take consider the chapter I want to write, as in: what do I want to accomplish? where do I need to go? taking for example indicators of compromise, my objectives are:

textually establish that Alex has a trained eye for detail and analysis

show the rapport (even if it's uneasy) that she has with Reed and how well she knows him

introduce their opinions on Valentine

Then from there the process is basically:

Think of ways to accomplish objectives in the chapter that sound like fun.

Write them down in *some* way, if it's a wip snippet of a scene, [describing what's going on in brackets] or just a barebones script dialog with no description.

Repeat steps 1-2 as many times as needed to get the raw material for the scene that feels fun and satisfying. This may take a fair amount of time.

Finish Draft 0 - where all the scenes are interconnected, and the text written (even if badly), with no remaining [placeholders] or highlights.

Edit. Edit. Edit. Read pieces aloud. Find a rhythm. Edit. Despair. Edit. Despair. Rest.

I was thinking more about Entreri in BG3 and wrote this post in my head in bed last night lol

Ranking BG3 Companions By How Likely Entreri Would Be To Romance Them

Caveats: This has no bearing on rp if you write any of these characters btw, this is just for funsies. Also please understand that despite this ranking Entreri is most likely to just never fuck and I love that for him :) Withers vc: Thou art bitchless?

#1 - LAE'ZEL

Most likely to romance. He gets her and actually respects her a great deal. (Looking at the rest of the party) "Why are you all being so precious about this? She's right and knows more about mindflayers than any of us." Entreri would also appreciate the Act 2 love battle A Lot.

#2 - ASTARION

They're more similar than Entreri would probably like to admit. Bonding over sexual trauma unexpectedly breaks some of his walls. Neither of them know wtf they are doing but they will be ride or die about it, will screw over everyone else here and run away together if needs must. Murder husbands.

#3 - SHADOWHEART

They would probably have a weird little mutually antagonistic start because they're both mean and cagey and Entreri hates clerics. But they wind up having more fun in that rivalry than expected. Entreri also hates Selune for Reasons. It would start as appreciation for Shadowheart's competency but could easily become "oh no, I care about this strange woman's tragedy and want to see her escape her circumstances in a way that's uncomfortably familiar, oh fuck."

#4 - WYLL

Entreri's dynamic with Wyll would be so fascinating. Wyll is a lot like Drizzt. Entreri would deeply resent and chafe at Wyll's idealism and yet Wyll is skilled enough to back it up so... Oh! How Entreri seethes!! Wyll meanwhile is probably more amused than anything. Very much one-sided nemeses LOL Entreri vc: I don't know how to flirt with him so I have to declare him my enemy.

#5 - MINTHARA

Ngl his initial response to Minthara would be "I am not getting involved in more drow bullshit" which is fair. Perhaps surprisingly, he would also deeply hate attacking the Grove. He's actually not about unnecessary violence or violence just for the sake of it against ordinary people, and he probably relates to the tieflings on some level despite not really caring to help them. Go figure. However... Act 2 Minthara and onward... "There are no gods left for me"? He would vibe with that mightily.

#6 - KARLACH

Honestly he probably likes her a great deal, but perhaps she is too good for him LOL

#7 - GALE

He would get along fine with Gale if they actually talked but they probably don't. Entreri is probably mildly annoyed by him LOL

#8 - JAHEIRA

This ranking is mostly for Jaheira's disinterest tbh. Entreri probably respects her the most of anyone here. They would gossip so venomously and so beautifully together.

#9 - HALSIN

Similar feelings as with Gale - just kind of mild annoyance. Also Entreri has the carnal desires of a ball of lint so sorry, not really interested in climbing the bear man.

#10 - MINSC

Entreri hates this man so deeply.

when did you join ? what made you join ? what do you remember from the plotlines that were current at the time ? where were you in life when you joined and where are you now ?

i want to say i first joined chambordrp in 2014 ? it didn't last too long but the group made a comeback in 2015 and i'm so so grateful that it did. admin m had asked me to join the admin team ( of just herself ) to help her with some ( hideous, i'm sure ) graphics, and here i am, this many years later ! back then, i was a baby high school student, procrastinating my assignments because my rp partners were waiting on a reply. at the time, the group was a hot mess, and the most serious plots were angsty exes and besties who had a falling out. i'd joined with some iteration of armani with a cara delevingne fc which is still so wild to me bc that will forever be gaia to me. i was going through my inbox and do you guys remember when we used to plot in our inboxes ?? i literally have asks from viveka-b from 2015 and i can't believe how far we've come.

which characters have you written over the years ?

oh goddd... armani, beatriz, a chris wood fc who's name i can't remember for the life of me, a maia mitchell, a zoey deutch, kostya, kseniya ( i still can't believe i played my own cousin 💀 ), jelani and ines... and liselotte, my samke baby <3

what is your favourite plotline that you've been part of ?

anything romanov-related i've felt so lucky to be a part of ! so much so, that i needed two whole romanovs to play with. the poisoning of alexei / roman v milena plotline had a grip on me, even though my roles were so miniscule. i'm copying answers here but i will always have a soft spot for viani. they've come so far from that six-way thread where evy and martha had to rp with themselves. ani has always been my little guilty pleasure character and i'm so glad that martha felt similarly enough for us to be able to bring them back and close their chapter. it's their two year anniversary soon, i'm in shambles.

what about other people's plotlines ?

you already KNOW i'm a sucker for ships. samke is forever my otp, i sometimes forget that femkris was a thing ?? my eyes were glued whenever we got new farnauld or annexei content. if i could list out every single hshqship here, i would. i love love <3

who is your favourite character from the ones you've played ? why ? what made you love them ? what made them so fun to write ?

i've had a surprising lot of fun playing jelani, which i really hadn't expected when he was first born, with a reece king fc. it's been so entertaining to write someone so unapologetically messy and i think what i loved most about writing with him was how easy it was to have chem with other characters. jelani and aurel were so easy, i love my brotp. jelstrid and jelimpia will always have a place in my heart. i also can't not say armani. she's not a character with too much depth but she was always a character that i could come back to for something light-hearted and one that i feel like i've grown up with. i just love the oranje-nassaus so much. not a character, but it was so much fun being a part of the gossip blog. it was so unserious and i used to read back on some of the answers and laugh at how funny everyone is.

if you could relive a plotline, which would it be ?

not exactly a plotline but every event has been so fun, even when we'd thought they'd get repetitive. the points games, the auction event, the murder mystery. i loved how involved everyone would get, both ic and ooc. you guys have kept this group so fresh and interesting.

is there a plotline that you'd edit now if you could ?

not at all.

what's a plotline you wish you would have been able to finish before closing or just write more of ?

i wish i'd gotten more time with invente ! i'm so glad that i was naomi'd into bringing ines. i had great big shoes to fill after sylvia but i had such a fun time writing ines and i'm glad i'd gotten the chance. writing fanni x ines threads really helped me better understand her character and i wish i had more time to explore her more.

what is your favourite ooc memory ?

i'm going to ditto martha and say battling the crazy muns. i know i've just written paragraphs on paragraphs about how big a part this rp has been to me but,,, we've had our fair share of crazies ! i'm glad we could all laugh about it after. the admin snapchat group with eve and evy will also have a special place in my heart. you probably don't remember but i vividly remember us all sending each other voice notes and being shocked by each other's accents ??? i was so skeptical about discord at first but i'm so glad i joined. it's made every event and each bit of drama so much juicier and it's given me the chance to get to know u all better. serre loves me so much, she sent me donuts for valentine's day last year and i'm still emo abt it

what else would you like to say ?

i've said a few things here but this honestly feels so bittersweet to me. the dash has been dead for a little bit now but i've, quite honestly, still been checking it daily, hoping there'll be a little something new for me to read and hold onto. i really never would have imagined that a group of fictional royals would have had such a grip on me. each character was so fleshed out that i couldn't help but feel invested in all these stories and now that it's time for the group to close, i'm hit with the fact that i have to say goodbye to so many characters i've watched grow, but also a community that i've grown up around. my writing has improved drastically over the years and it's a testament to the sheer talent of the people in this group. every single member of this group over the years has been so instrumental in the worldbuilding and it's so crazy to look at hshq and remember that it all stemmed from a rich kids rp. i've said it to e and evy but this group is honestly legendary, in our obscure little community. not just in longevity but the rise of model fcs and medium gifs in the rpc definitely started here ! you guys are so so talented and it's been such a privilege to be a part of it. if your muse ever strikes, i hope you'll write a thread or two here. i've yet to read the final chapters popping up on my dash – i'm still in denial and i'm not ready to let these characters go. i don't want to sound too sappy and dramatic, but what we had here was truly rare. i adore you all and i hope we stay in touch <3

@damistrolls Is a person I'm so happy to be getting to know more! I've admired their art for a while. Reading about fucked up way back in 2021-2022 is one of the big reasons I was inspired to make a fantroll blog in the first place! I'm still so normal about anything related to magpie and the most recent drabbles with him unlocked secret emotions in me. I've said it before but I really admire his art. I still can't believe they do everything without a sketch layer it blows my mind. He is such a good character designer and has such VARIETY in all his charactors body types and styles and features. Every one of them is so unique. They're also just very funny and super fun guy to be around.

@roetrolls I don't know what I could say about roetrolls I haven't already said. But one more time: They're a constant inspiration to me and a large part of the reason I was ever able to find a place in this community at all. I really admire her maturity and level headed-ness. They are just the kind of person who makes any space they are in feel safer and more kind. She's a very talented writer and anyone who is familiar with her work in the slightest knows that. She has several characters that hold a very special place in my heart. Their voices are so distinct and I think harlan might be my favorite villian character in anything ever. Her work means a lot to me as a survivor.

@sasster is such an incredible writer. I can't even explain how much I admire chase's ability to constantly like, I don't even know if what I'm saying makes sense but I feel like they're constantly reinventing their own sandbox and world, like watching their story grow and change and introduce new characters and worlds and then loop back around to making the original, older ones even more signifigant and poignant with what they're doing now, it kind of blows my mind. They've been here so long still constantly changing and I think even now making everything they put out better than everything they put out last which was already great. I don't think I could go that much deeper into what they mean to me as a friend outside of rp without like actually crying. We have had our rough patches. But they have been constantly kind and patient with me through me struggling so much. And. I do not think I would be the person I am today if chase sasster did not believe in me as much as chase sasster has.

tbh i condense third life + last life into one season (due to having really enjoyed martyns character, feeling skizzs 'arc' in s2 is characterized better with s1 in mind) - if i have to pick one: last life. its kinda my thing that i am attached to last life

(ummm, just gonna list the ones i remember most.) i have a soft spot for dogwarts from 3rd life, since it was kinda the heavy hand pivot-into rp i saw first. the "snow fort" from last life, most specifically the "office." (don't get me started why i care about that damn thing.) the "relation ship" from double life was cute. "bad boy manor" and the associated bridge in limited. ahhh, its been a while but that weird saw-gauntlet-trap-thing tango made too. gd its been long.

i always chew on when people compare a partnership or alliance to bad relationship. there's sth fun in toxic dynamics like that to me (lol) what comes to mind is def the few offhanded jokes in last life.. sth abt the vagueness is easier to explore than the more hammed up roleplay. a chance for edginess? yes ploz.

u'd think there'd be more posts abt it since a lot of fans love watching ppl be psychologically tortured in the block game... maybe that's more of a different smps habit - anyways!

jimmy, being asked if he's being mistreated:

ren, also in last life, being told he's not in a good relationship:

ren: i'm not sure what i've gotten myself into with the shadow queen. grian: hold on, hold on. that's kind-of good, right? because if she didn't immediately turn on you it means that she cares. [pause] ren: right. either that or she's more than happy to take my resources. not sure which one. etho: (laugh) is she using you, ren? you gotta get outta that relationship. ren, that's not a good relationship. ren, grian: (laugh)
