trying to explain the 80s story can be hard sometimes bc like,,
I get that tumblr people can be sensitive but it's literally about abuse, man. it's about every kind of abuse under the sun. it's about generational trauma. it's about trying to be a better person and cutting off your blood family like a diseased limb, whether you want to or not. it's also about being TAKEN from your family way, way too soon. it's about learning to cope with how messed up you've been because of other people
if I tagged every single mention of abuse here I would never sleep.

The Other Day at Hot Topic: Lexaeus
Axel hadn’t intended to follow Saïx’s newest recruit to work, but he had been almost done with his Starbucks when he saw him passing by, so he said to himself: Why not? Before he knew it he was ducking into Hot Topic only a few minutes behind.
Now Lex looks kind of like he wants to backhand the petite blonde twenty something standing in front of him so hard he flies into Clearance. So Axel figures he made the right call.
The new guy had looked a little overwhelmed when Axel had left him to the sharks at a staff meeting the other day, and maybe it’s his short stature and painstakingly messy hair, but Axel feels an unusually protective urge sweep through him on sight.
“Take the phone and step aside,” Lex all but growls at the wide-eyed blonde dude blocking his path out from behind the register and more significantly, out of Hot Topic.
It’s not exactly a fair fight, Axel muses, slowly and expertly navigating the narrow aisles between movie, tv show, and anime displays, eyes on the real drama unfolding.
Lex has a few inches on Axel’s six feet and spends his free time bodybuilding, like, for fun. He absolutely dwarfs the angel faced blonde, drowning in a black tunic length shirt for a band Axel doesn’t hate, his twig legs wrapped in shredded, skinny white jeggings. It was like a mountain squaring off against an adorable woodland creature.
“I want to, but you can’t expect me to stay here by myself,” the blonde objects, tenor more or less level, hands splaying open in emphasis, left wrist in a black and white checkered cuff. “It’s literally my first day.”
“Look,” Lex takes a breath to calm himself and sets a hand on his hip, “I’ve already stayed a half hour past my shift and there’s nobody here.” His other hand gestures to the aisles, but neither look, well aware that much like the rest of the mall, Hot Topic has been dead for the better part of the Tuesday morning.
The blonde’s brows furrow.  “What if somebody comes in?”
Lex rolls his eyes, gesturing vaguely. “Just tell them the register’s broken. It’s what Demyx always does.”
“Please.” What’s his name grows increasingly distressed, realizing Lex is about to jump ship whether he wants him to or not. “I don’t want to get fired on my first day.”
Lex’s signature solemn frown flickers in amusement. “There’s no one here to fire you.” He shoulders a little roughly past the blonde blocking his way but looks back as a thin croak escapes the guy’s throat. “I’m sorry, Roxas. I need to go.”
Roxas, Axel makes a mental note. That was it.
“So long, Lexaeus,” calls Axel, leaning up against the band tees, not five feet from the register.
Lex groans, and Roxas glances between the two.
“I take it back,” Lex says, turning to Roxas. “He can get us fired with a snap of his fingers.”
Axel smiles broadly and it feels unpleasant, so he can’t imagine how it looks. “Vexen deserved it.”
Lex stands and awaits his orders. Despite what he did, Vexen had been his friend, but Axel wasn’t someone to get into it with. Not with Saïx at his beck and call. Lex has places to be but he doesn’t want to risk his job. People his size and build with a resting expression that radiates “I could kill you in your sleep” likely have a fair bit of trouble on the job market. Axel takes all this in within moments.
“Go,” Axel’s expression softens and he flutters his fingers toward the cave-like store entrance that has always reminded him of a gateway to hell, “I’ve got it covered.”
“Are…” Lex starts forward right away, but then stops, checks himself. Axel’s not known for being straightforward about things, “are you sure?”
“Yep,” Axel claps his hands together, nodding toward their new coworker, “get outta here before you bruise Rox’s pretty face.”
Roxas’ fingers fly to his cheek and he seems surprised by his own reaction, flushing slightly pink.
Lex’s voice takes on a hard edge and he turns on his heel. “I don’t do that shit anymore.”
Axel blinks, reaching out to grasp his shoulder. “I know, buddy.” Lex freezes, and Axel drops his hand. “It’s okay. Go. I’ll tell Saïx you went above and beyond the call of duty.”
Lex nods, which feels pretty intimate, coming from Lex. “...Thanks.”
Axel watches Lex clock out and stalk out before turning his attention to the small blonde, hovering beside him, shuffling in his oversized combat boots. “So, Roxas,” he waits a second for a response, but Roxas doesn’t seem eager to give one, “day one, huh?”
Roxas nods wearily, and Axel supposes that’s fair.
Talk about a stressful first shift. Especially with Saïx running the show. Eeesh.  Merciful he is not.
“Alright. Let’s see who’s supposed to be on the schedule with you.” Axel steps behind the register and pulls out a binder with shift information, simultaneously pulling out his cell and tapping a couple buttons.
His nose scrunches as he scans the lines. “Vanitas and… Demyx? Together?” He makes a face at Roxas, half sour, half amused, but Roxas doesn’t seem to have a firm enough grasp on anyone’s names to react properly. “No fucking wonder… Oh, hold on, it’s Saïx.” At his ear his phone stops ringing and an automated voice recites Saïx’s number and beeps.
“Hey, babe,” Axel’s voice turns to a low purr, and he notes Roxas’ narrowing eyes with amusement, “sexy voicemail message, as always. Hate to interrupt pilates, but I’m kinda in a tight spot here.” Axel pauses and uses two fingers to lift Roxas’ chin and thereby close his gaping mouth. Saïx has a sense of humor, but he doesn’t let a lot of people talk to him the way Axel does.
“Stopped by Hot Topic to check on your new kid and lo and behold, nobody’s here!” Axel glances down at the binder again. “It’s a little hard to read, but it looks like Xal scheduled the Devil Child and Band Geek together, which was, you must admit, a shit decision. Lex stayed late, because he’s the man, but I sent him off, ‘cause it’s dead as a doornail in here.” He glances at his watch and winces. Hopefully it’d stay that way.
He sighs melodramatically, knowing it will amuse the man on the other end, “Anyways, I’m happy to show Pop Rox here the ropes until somebody can get their ass in here, and I’ll make a few calls, but, uh, we’d love to see your smiling face soon. Ta ta now.”
Roxas raises an eyebrow at Axel, who wonders if it’s about the impromptu nickname or his blithe words to Saïx. He opts to pretend it’s neither.
“Okay, so, I’ll text some people, see who we can sucker into coming in. Either way, Sai should be here all hot and bothered in fifteen, and you’re stuck with me until then. Guess we oughta get you started though, huh?” The blonde still looks a little dazed, so Axel smiles, welcoming. Better start with the basics, then. “You clocked in?”
Roxas looks almost bashful, shakes his head. “Uh-uh.” “Okay, to the clocktower!” Axel turns on his booted heel and begins to lead him to the storage room in the very back, rambling a bit, to ease the tension, “Well, it’s not really a tower, but it does sound more exciting, right?”
Axel glances back to Roxas who scrunches his nose but grins, almost.
“Hey.” Axel abruptly stops walking and Roxas near bumps into him. “You’re like in zombie mode, here kid, what’s up? You a Walker?”
“Uh, it’s just,” Roxas pockets his hands and Axel notes his nails, half scraped off black polish. He can’t help but find it cute, if stereotypical. “Uh, I know we met before, but I don’t really know… who you are?”
“Ah. Name’s Axel.” He smirks and pokes Roxas lightly in the temple. “Memorize it.” Explanation granted, Axel turns and again begins to work his way back to the door marked ‘STAFF’ in the furthest corner of the shop.
“I take it this is not your shift,” Roxas continues, uncertainty watering down his tone.
Axel laughs, hard, wondering if Roxas really doesn’t know Axel isn’t even an employee, really hasn’t deduced his relationship with Saïx. “Definitely not, no. But you looked like you could use a friend.”
Roxas gives him another almost smile, but his eyebrows betray him, dipping lower. “So you like, help Saïx run the store?”
Axel snorts as the Saïx in his head cringes. “More like I help Saïx run his life.” He pauses to punch in the code to the back door, 0-7-0-8, and props it open with his foot. “But yeah, I’ll be around. C’mon, you survive this shift and I’ll get you cake or something.”
Roxas smiles for the first time, swift and iridescent. “My white knight,” he quips and Axel, shocked and amused by the sarcasm, represses an urge to tuck him under his arm and ruffle up his perfectly mussed hair.
“Hey, this is Hot Topic. No white knight nonsense. It’s more like…” Axel fumbles for anything vaguely resembling it, leaning on his elbow in the doorway in faux contemplation, “dark... rescue.”
Roxas giggles—straight up giggles and nudges Axel’s arm, slipping under it and into the back. “That’s not better.”
“No,” Axel nudges Roxas’ back in return and grins, “it’s absolutely not.”

Babydoll and Lassie.
--
It was 10pm the party was in full swing. Chuckie, Gemma and a few croweaters were given the task of setting the place up with snacks, alcohol and a couple decorations here and there. The place was ready within less than two hours thanks to Gemma roping everyone in on helping. People had been arriving and mingling for the past hour, but the guests of honour were still getting ready. Roxxie was calming down a very anxious Rissa in their dormroom. "You look fine, i promise." Roxxie told her friend. "You looked hot before but now? Oh honey you're smokin' hot!" She teased, hoping it would lighten her mood. Rissa wasn't all that bothered about what she was wearing, it was the fact that her and Roxxie were thrown a party. She was annoyed that they were celebrating them when so much shit went down for them to get here. But mostly, it made her feel overwhelmed. She had never felt so welcomed before. Her own family didn't do anything like this! Everyone was being so kind and genuine with her, she hadn't experienced it before and didn't know how to react. Rissa enhaled a deep gulp of air and then nodded. "Okay. I'm ready. Let's go." She told her bestfriend with a smile on her lips. Tonight was the perfect time to forget about what's happened and to just loosen up! The two girls got up from the bed and exited the dorm, ready to party until they could no longer stand.
The clubhouse was filled with people, music and alcohol. It was safe to say Rissa was nervous as hell, she felt like she had a point to prove. She felt as if everyone thought of her as a snobby fragile rich bitch from first impressions. She wanted to prove to them she could let her hair down. Roxxie had helped give her a make over and even though it was way out of her comfort zone she felt pretty damn hot. Rissa wore a pair of ripped black skinny jeans, a guns n roses tank and high heeled black boots that she had borrowed from something called a crow eater. Her dark hair was wavy and her make up was perfection. She turned to Roxxie and gave her a smile. "I'm gonna get a drink." She said with newfound confidence. Her friend nodded and gave Rissa a slap on her ass as she strolled over to the bar.  That's my girl, Roxxie thought. "Hey chuckie, can I get a double vodka soda, please?" Rissa asked the man who was whizzing from person to person getting their orders. "Sure thing Rita." He replied before running off into the kitchen. "I think you'll find this beautiful lady's name is Rissa, Chuck. Grab me a whiskey while you are at it." A familar Scottish accent called to the smaller man. Rissa felt her cheeks hotten. Chibs' voice made her melt. "Beautiful lady huh? Not calling me rich bitch or fancy pants or gold digger?" She asked him with a raised brow. "You plannin' on stayin' here?" Chibs leant a bit closer to her as he asked his question. "Well duh..." Rissa said as she sipped the drink that had just been placed in front of her. A smirk appeared on the man's lips. "Then no, you ain't a 'rich bitch' to me. And you should ignore anyone that calls it you... Especially if it's Tig" Chibs winked at the girl before walking away and over to the pool table. Rissa leaned against the bar and brought out her phone from her pocket, she hadn't checked it since she had arrived in Charming. 30 missed calls from her mom, grandma and Elliot. "You know you are gonna have to get rid of that phone and get a new one?" Roxxie appeared out of nowhere with two glasses of alcohol in her hands. "What why??" Rissa exclaimed in confusion. Roxxie pulled her friend closer. "Because he will probably be able to track you from it." She whispered in her ear. "Anyway, enough about that... It's party time baby! Woo!" Roxxie's serious tone turned into her screaming with excitement. Rissa let out a laugh as Roxxie dragged her over to the part of the room that seemed to become the dance floor and to Rissa's amusement it was right near the pool table. The dark haired girl glanced over at the Scottish male as she danced with her friend, hoping he would look her way, Roxxie caught on straight away. "Do you have the hots for Papa Chibs? I mean he's old enough to be your pa and he's defo not your usual type!" The girl rambled on. "Rox...please shut up!" Rissa's cheeks flushed, confirming her bestfriend's theory. As the girl's danced they caught the attenion of most of the males in the room. Some had even come to join them on the dance floor. Roxxie was dancing with a man called Juice who had a mochican and tattos on his head. Rissa was dancing with man named Happy who was bald and didn't look all that hapy. Both girl's where having an amazing time. It had been so long since they last had a night out together partying and getting drunk. It was the perfect distraction. "I'm gonna get another drink." Rissa shouted before disappearing from the crowd of dancing people. Just as she was about to reach the bar she bumped into someone. "I'm so sorry!" The blond male from yesterday gave her a sweet smile. "Don't worry about it, Darlin." Jax said as he sipped his beer, his eyes travelling up and down her body. Man she looked finnnnne! "You enjoying yourself?" Rissa nodded and returned the smile. "Glad to hear... You look good by the way." He said with his signature smirk. "Well thank you." Rissa giggled, feeling a little hot. "I think this look must beat the wedding dress huh?" She joked. "Well I mean, it was more the running mascara that is hard to beat." Jax spoke in a playful tone and the two of them laughed. Both of them fell silent for a couple of seconds, just staring at each other. You could cut the sexual tension with a knife! It was so obvious that they were into each other. Suddenly Gemma appeared behin him looking annoyed for some reason."Jackson... A word?" She said in a serious tone of voice before walking away. "Sorry sweetheart, let's pick this conversation back up later?" He winked before he followed the woman, leaving Rissa on her own. The girl smiled to herself and stood at the bar waiting to be served. That man was absolutely gorgeous! And he was sweet and funny too... Maybe they'd become friends? -- 2 hours later, both of the girls were drunk as hell and they were loving life! Def Leppard's song Pour Some Sugar On Me boomed through the speakers around the Clubhouse. Everyone was having the time of their lives, drinking, dancing, eating, smoking, chatting and a couple people were getting a little too hot n heavy. Roxxie was dancing with a bunch of people near the wooden doors that SAMCRO meetings were held in. She was watching in disgust as Tig and some random woman ate each others faces. "Seriously? Get a room you dirty perv!" Roxxie snapped at the sleazy man. He pulled away from the woman and raised his brows at her. "What? I don't wanna see you two exchange saliva whilst i'm trying to party." Tig let out a chuckle. "It's a fuckin' party. Don't be so frigid!" He groaned in annoyance. Why was she being such a Debbie Downer when this is a party in honour of her? Roxxie rolled her eyes. Frigid? She thought. "Frigid my ass." Roxxie told the man, glaring at him. Tig smirked and pushed the woman off of his lap and stood up. The man took slow steps towards her, his eyes fixated on hers. "Then show me." He whispered, standing inches away from her. Roxxie laughed and let out a big sigh. "Honey, i ain't gonna show you shit. You're a sleazy, gross, annoying man who i hardly know. Oh and you're old enough to be my dad." Roxxie explained, making it very clear she was not interested. Tig shrugged off her comment, about to walk away and leave her alone but then he leant forward and whispered in her ear. "Baby we both know you got daddy issues." Anger rose up in the red head and suddenly her arm lifted up and her fist went flying in direction of his face. Before Roxxie could punch him, Tig somehow saw it coming and grabbed hold of her wrist, pushing her until her back hit the doors. A gasp escaped from Roxxie's lips and Tig smirked. His body pressed against hers and for a split second Roxxie thought about kissing him. She gulped nervously and tried to act as if she hated him, but Tig saw straight through her. Tig moved his head closer to hers until their lips were almost touching. Roxxie breath hitched in her throat as she waited for him to kiss her. All of a sudden, she ached for his touch, she wanted him right now, right this second. Roxxie blamed it on the alcohol.. Despite thinking that Tig was an asshole, she couldn't deny the fact that she found him was extremely hot. "Well." Tig whispered, his lips touching hers ever so slightly as he spoke. Roxxie was still waiting for him to make the move, but instead he pulled away, let go of her and took a step back. "I'm gonna get a drink. See ya around, babydoll." And without waiting for a reply, Tig walked off into the crowd of people. Roxxie gulped and stood away from the doors, looking around the room to see if anyone was looking. Nobody saw, thank god, she thought as she composed herself. Roxxie rolled her eyes in annoyance and made her way outside for a smoke. She couldn't believe she was about to let herself be seduced by that man!
Meanwhile a very drunk Rissa was laughing and joking with some people she didn't know. They probably did introduce themselves but it wasn't like Rissa would be able to remember. A woman wearing just a thong and some extremely high-heeled shoes was dancing on stage on the pole and Rissa was loving it. "How can she do that with her legs?!" Rissa exclaimed, making the people around her laugh. "She must be a gymnast or something!" She was amazed by the half naked woman's moves. She was spinning, jumping, jiggling, she was doing it all. "Man she has a lot of confidence!! Look at her! She'd naked in front of strangers and jiggling her jiggly bits!" Suddenly a voice whispered in her ear. "I'd like to see you jiggling your jiggly bits." The voice said and Rissa let out a loud giggle. She turned around to see the handsome blond and gave him a sweet smile. "Hey you." Rissa said, flicking her long brown hair off of her shoulder. Jax smiled and grabbed hold of her hand. "Wanna go finish our conversation?" Rissa nodded, biting down on her lip. Her heart suddenly started to race and she felt herself get a little hot. Talking was the last thing she wanted to do with him. The pair of them slipped away quickly and quietly from the party and entered the dormroom her and Roxxie stayed in. As soon as they were alone, things got heated very fast. Jax grabbed Rissa by her hips and pulled her over to him before planting a passionate kiss on her lips. Rissa was slightly overwhelmed, she'd never been kissed like that before and man did it feel good. Rissa moaned as Jax moved onto kissing and nibbling on her neck. Things were escalating quickly but neither of them minded. Drunk Rissa knew that Sober Rissa would be mad at her but she quite frankly didn't give a shit. It had been a while since she had a good fucking. Items of clothing began to drop to the floor and the pair made it onto the bed. Rissa was just about to take off her underwear when the door opened and in stumbled a wasted Roxxie and a stranger. It looked like Rissa wasn't the only one wanting to get laid tonight. Thanks to Tig for making her feel all hot and bothered, Roxxie had to go and pull a random lad so she could carry on partying. It wasn't hard for Roxxie to find someone, most men found her extremely attractive. Roxxie's eyes widened when seeing her bestfriend straddeling (sort of) cousin. What even the fuck?! Rissa let out a laugh and shooed her friend. "We're kinda busy here, mind shutting the door?" "Oh hell no. Don't you have an Old Lady to go home to?!" Roxxie shouted at the blond male. Rissa's brows furrowed in confusion, an old lady? "I'm sure his granny won't mind. We won't be long." Rissa cluelessly told the girl. Roxxie shook her head and folded her arms over her chest. "Old Lady is a biker term for a SIGNIFICANT OTHER!" She shouted the last part loud enough it made the pair jump. "Get the fuck off him, Rissa. He's got a fucking girlfriend!" Rissa's face was a picture, she quickly jumped off the man and pointed at the door. "Get out you sleaze-bag!" She snapped at the man who rolled his eyes and picked up his clothing. He gave the girls a wink before leaving. "You too, rando." Roxxie pushed the man she was with out of the room and shut the door. The girls jumped onto the bed and looked at each other. "Shit always has to go wrong with us, don't it?" Rissa nodded, letting out a heavy sigh. "Tell me about it."

Note
7, 11, 14, 50!
7. If you could be a mythical creature, which would you choose?
-- A selkie, I think. My kneejerk reaction is always vampire and that’d still be fine but there’s something in my heart that very much likes the idea of shedding human form and disappearing into the ocean tbh.
11. Who is a mentor to you?
-- This one is kind of difficult. I’m not sure I have one in the truest sense of the word right now. I’m in a transition period academically and I don’t have like. A trade or a hobby I’m passionate enough about to truly be mentored in that way. So in the dictionary.com sense nobody is my mentor right now, but like. I like to think that the people I look up to and care for mentor me every day on how to be human and how to be more present in the moment. I learn a lot of lessons about compassion and perseverance and the human condition from like. You and Rae and Rox and Megs and the gang, and for all of my family’s shortcomings we’ve been riding out this insane nightmare together and like. IDK. this is a long Holden Caulfieldy ramble but the tl;dr is my loved ones are my mentors even if the dictionary would disagree with my word usage.
14. Do you consider yourself a romantic?
-- Y e s. I’m AWFUL. I’m filled with schmoop up to my eyeballs, I can’t read fic unless everything is soft and it’s v clear the people involved love each other and everything is gonna work out okay. I’m a SUCKER for soft sweet gestures and cuddles and the sappy meanings behind like. Early 2000s love ballads. I’m literally the worst, ironically it’s partially why I’ll never find love, nobody’s got time for all my hand holding and nose kisses and dumb pet names.
50. Invent your own word. What does it mean?
-- Aeflouse. the sensation of falling down into oneself, comfortably so, while contemplating just how different you are compared with the expectations of your younger self.
“She was aeflouse in the dying light of the evening, content to simply sit in the swing chair as the night settled in around her, quiet and still.”

Just Tonight #7 (Shalaska) - BABE
AN: Alrighty, I never thought I’d be back here. It’s been a rough few months and every time I sat down to write I drew blanks. When I was motivated, I couldn’t get my laptop working and now that I have, I’m back. I’m keeping to my original plan for this story and hope the fans that were with me so many months ago are still there. I love you all so much and I’m sorry for not being around to write this story. Keep it foxy x
“We were staying in Paris to get away from your parents and I thought, ‘Wow, if I could take this in a shot right now I don’t think that we could work this out,” Alaska sang quietly as she sat in her seat on the airplane. Roxxxy sat to her right and could barely contain her excitement while the blonde didn’t have much excitement at 6 o’clock in the morning. It was the first day of spring break and Alaska knew that she should be sleeping in right now but she had a bigger mission to accomplish – seeing Sharon for the first time in two weeks. Of course, they’d been using Skype and Facetime and Sharon was quite good at using Snapchat (for many reasons, Alaska noted) but it would be nice to have her in her arms again. There were small things, like the way her hips tingled when Sharon kissed her, or the goosebumps that covered her arms at the lightest of the girl’s touches that Alaska missed, but the thing she missed the most was just how warm the older girl was. With her headphones in her ears and the plane up in the air, Alaska found herself slipping into the depths of sleep, knowing that in an hour or so, Sharon would be back to her.
An hour later, Alaska stirred to her the sounds of the no seatbelt sign going off and announcements that they were arriving in New York at any minute. The city intrigued her, she had never been but all of the idealistic ideas that had been presented to her in late night reruns of Sex and The City made her believe that it was the most magical place on Earth. Plus, being here with Sharon in one of the coolest cities in the world was a bonus.
“I’m so excited to see Dee,” Roxxxy was babbling beside her. She was rambling about how long it had been since they’d seen each other and how lonely she’d been, feelings that Alaska related to but couldn’t handle. The one hour nap could only help the blonde tolerate the other girl’s pep.
Roxxxy’s voice was in her ear all throughout leaving the plane, luggage collection and the coffee that she had purchased from Starbucks to keep her awake. It was only when two familiar figures came into Alaska’s vision that Roxxxy was speechless. Without a second thought, the dark haired girl dove into Dee’s arms, accidentally knocking her to the ground. It caused a scene in the airport as many onlookers watched the public display of affection. Sharon and Alaska, however, both tiredly embraced, their lips meeting each other’s passionately but sleepily. It was their good morning kiss, one that they’d mastered because neither were morning people.
“I missed you,” Alaska whispered, a small smile on her lips.
“I missed you too.”
The ride from the airport to the three star hotel was spent sleeping in Sharon’s arms, only to be awakened by the older girl when they got to their destination. Alaska felt bad for not saying hello to Jinkx and Ivy first but Sharon took their younger girl straight up to their room, herself tired from the lack of sleep on the tour bus the night before. There, they skipped conversations, they skipped niceties, they even skipped the reunion sex that both were dying to have. All that Sharon and Alaska did was get into their bed and sleep for the day, Sharon’s arms wrapped tightly around Alaska’s waist.
This is what they missed the most.
———————–
Alaska woke up to the sound of pounding on the door, realising that Sharon was no longer in bed. She groggily looked at the clock’s time and was shocked to find it read 2:37 pm, which was a lot longer than she’d planned to sleep for, especially since the band was in New York and she’d wanted to explore the city. As she tiredly stumbled towards the door, Alaska was relieved to look through the peep hole and find that it was Roxxxy. Opening the door, she grinned.
“Hey, Rox,” she greeted, letting the girl into the room. The other girl looked completely fresh and prepared while Alaska’s hair was a mess and she was still in her clothes from the airport. “Do you know where Sharon is?”
“Yeah, they’ve gone to sound check,” Roxxxy replied, her voice fully of her normal energetic attitude. Alaska noted that the girl’s excessive excitement had lessened after seeing Dee for the first time in a couple of weeks. “I was talking to the tour manager, Michelle, and she said that the girls would have to do sound check at 2:30 for an hour, then they’re free until dinner at 6 and concert at 7. This shit is legit, Lasky. They’ve got a tour bus and roadies and all that jazz but the performances are still in clubs and small venues, it’s like having the best of both worlds. Anyways, get ready. We’re meeting the band in an hour and you look like a mess. No offence, girl.” Roxxxy sat down on the bed, puffed out after her excessive rambling while Alaska rushed around her room, trying to get ready. She somehow felt an immense pressure to look good for Sharon, something she hadn’t really had before. She showered quickly and brushed out her knotty hair while Roxxxy told her all about her and Dee’s afternoon. Lucky for Alaska, there were no sordid details, just shopping and chilling in Central Park which sounded delightfully like them.
In her mind, she knew that their day wasn’t as good as hers.
—————————-
The first day was a complete blur to Alaska, one that made her feel all fuzzy and warm at the end of the night. She remembered some pieces – trying to navigate the crazy streets with Roxxxy and getting completely lost, having to be bailed out by Michelle and making it to the sound check only to see that their check had been over half an hour ago. Sharon looked relieved to see Alaska, pulling her into a hug and whispering “I’ve got a big surprise for you” in the blonde’s ear. She held a picnic basket out of Alaska’s sight and took her hand and led her out the door.
Sharon’s big surprise had been the Empire State Building. Alaska had never been anywhere so high and the height and Sharon’s goofy smirk and the smell of the rose bouquet and the champagne made her dizzy. She was drunk on love and never wanted it to change. The girls clung to each other as the day turned colder, the spring air unusually chilly.
“A moment like this should never end,” Alaska murmured wistfully as they linked hands. Sharon grinned in reply, humming to Just Tonight, Alaska singing as they grasped hands. The two danced as people passed them for what felt like hours, until they were the only people there and they realised that they’d skipped dinner and were almost late for the gig. Alaska took one last look at the blanket of lights that covered the city and took in its magic, hoping the magic would stay with the couple as long as they lived.
Luckily for Sharon, the couple arrived back at the venue with enough time to change for the concert. Alaska stood side stage and watched on admirably, knowing that she’d be called on stage to sing The Only Exception like she had weeks ago, it had become Anarchy Rose’s most popular song. It was exactly the same as it was last time and gave her the exact same rush.
“Up until now I had sworn to myself that I’m content with loneliness, because none of it was ever worth the risk,” the two sang, as if nobody was watching. It was a beautiful end to a perfect day.
When the other bands went on, Alaska watched them from Sharon’s arms. Nothing could ever go wrong, she thought.
—————————-
Unfortunately for the two, a lot could definitely go wrong.
It started off as tiny tensions – Alaska wanting to spend lots of time with Sharon, who was too busy trying to write new and amazing songs for a potential album. The bus became too cramped for the people staying on it and Alaska often either felt overwhelmed or isolated. As the bus travelled from each city, things changed for the couple. The dates like in New York started dwindling, the romantic PDA that they had not been afraid of felt like a foreign concept and Alaska would go hours just curled up in the bus with her headphones in her ears. Everyone noticed it, it was making everyone uncomfortable.
In Boston, things spiralled out of control.
Alaska stood side stage, waiting to be called onto the stage to sing The Only Exception. It was a chore now, but it was still her song. Someone’s footage from New York of the two singing it had gone viral, and the added exposure sent Sharon back into her rocker persona. Now, she was drunk and the opening bars of the song were playing, but Alaska was not invited out onto the stage. Hell, she wasn’t even given the credit.  It wouldn’t have been a huge deal if they hadn’t felt the distance that they had been feeling.  As she watched a song that was her baby being sung to a crowd, she felt herself getting emotional. Not wanting to cause a scene, she ran outside, letting the tears spill from her eyes.
When Sharon strutted off the stage, she was expecting Alaska to be there with the amazement with her eyes like she used to show, but was shocked to see the blonde nowhere in sight. Roxxxy pointed to the door where Alaska ran out of wordlessly, a glare on her face. Sharon, confused by the look and the amount of alcohol she had consumed, followed the gesture. Her confusion increased as she saw a crying Alaska in the alleyway. Mascara starting to drip down her cheeks.
“Lasky,” she started, placing a hand on the girl’s shoulder. “What’s wrong?” Alaska stopped crying as she shrugged Sharon’s hand away, their eyes locking together.
“I can’t do this anymore,” she barely whispered, her voice cracking. New tears were threatening to spill from her big eyes. “We’re not the same couple as we were in New York and I don’t know why. What happened to us? Why does it feel like you’re a thousand miles away all of a sudden?”
“I don’t know what you’re tal-“
“Quit the bullshit, Sharon. I know you feel it too,” Alaska’s tone was much harsher than Sharon expected.  “Sometimes we don’t talk. I see Jinkx and Ivy all coupley and we’ve barely even cuddled in days. I feel so fucking isolated from you!” She took a breath as her voice grew with volume. “You’re living your dream, congratulations. But it feels as if I’m not part of that dream anymore.”
“Lasky, please…” Sharon started, but Alaska had already started to walk away. She spun on her heels, vulnerability in her eyes. It was something so new and so scary, even as months had passed for them.
“I understand that you still love me, but I need time. I’m going home, talk to me when you’re back in Pittsburgh.” With that, Alaska had disappeared from her view, and Sharon wanted to break down so badly. Instead, she held it in, pulled out a cigarette and tried to calm herself down. If she couldn’t have Alaska, then it was as if she was back to square one.

Note
maybe because canon roxy is very feminine ? Idk
//Well, nobody told me that Rox was bothering them, I just wondered. ANd if I refer to the number of time people thought Rox was a girl, he’s pretty feminine as well XD.
I don’t know where we’re going with this conversation.
Anyway I don’t intend to change Rox, I like him this way.
And yes for me canon Roxy is indeed a girl. At least biologically, but I think gender too.
After I don’t mind people thinking differently ?
Look at this, I’m rambling now.
