April loved mythical critters and legends and mysteries. She was not expecting to meet any of them in person, but she’s not complaining! These are ACTUAL dragons! Or, well, two dragons and two little serpents. And they’re funny and nice and just fun to be around, not to mention absolutely adorable! She’s not missing out on that opportunity.

Splinter tries to stay away, but this little girl is very persistent. She finds them almost every time they come out.

… Doesn’t help that the boys usually try to go find her, too, lmao.

so yeah raph was with the mud dogs for the earlier years of his life! they raised him the best that a ragtag group of criminals could manage, and he became a sort of team mascot

I imagine their dynamic summed up by that one scene from Megamind’s backstory (y’know. the one where they teach him police=bad and robber=good? yeah uhhh they really screwed up his perception of crime and legality with that one, oops)

As for how he went from living with them to working for Big Mama? That’s for me to know and you guys to eventually find out

I care them lots..

They love each other but they can't ever love each other in any normal way. It's the apocolypse and they're important figures in the revolution. Even if they wanted to get married they'd never be able to, that would take 10x more work and time than either of them have to give up. They're both too important to have dedicated time for themselves. They can't let themselves truly be anything together because then they'll want more. There's always going to be a degree of separation.

...i'm kind of scared to ask...but when swanatello's brothers finally found him, was it a good or bad day? (i love swanatello, he has nested in my skull and is chewing on my brain like grass)

The first SEVERAL visits to Swanatello after they find him go about the same way. That is to say, very poorly. It's not until a couple weeks later when Leo visits on his own (not because he thinks it'll work, but because he's desperate to see his brother, and he's able to portal there on his own,) that Swanatello finally has a chance to recognize him, and they're able to begin to puzzle the situation together...

You have no idea how long this took me. Not because it was hard, so to speak, but because I had nO TIME TO DRAW IT---

BUT. It's done. Congrats to the one person who guessed Leo could use portals to fly -- that was like. A huge plot point I wanted to delve into.

It's not satisfying to him, so to speak. As he says, it's not ACTUALLY flying. There’s not a lot of control here, he can’t maneuver or turn without needing another portal boost. Plus, he doesn't exactly LIKE the feeling of falling, knowing that should he screw up, should he not catch himself, or should his portals fail him like they do oh so often, he doesn't have any natural way to save himself... A fear that was only truly realized after Draxum tossed him off a roof.

However, the method helps ease his desire a bit. It's something he'll do for hours at night, when he can't sleep, until he's exhausted his mystics or the feeling of freefalling just gets to be a little too much for him. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

So, seeing as I've been drawing Manhunt Raph a lot, it's got me wondering...how does his shirt work? Like, it doesn't go over his carapace so how does it stay on?

That is a question that has haunted me for weeks

The thing is, it's not only the shirt now, because I may have made an accidental change to where his pants also go under his carapace?

Purely accidental, but I realized it kinda made sense if I wanted to justify how the hell his clothes work which is, uh. well

In his defense, Big Mama's costume designers told him it would look better (and it does, he agrees). Whatever works, man
