“Y’know, I’ve only had one other person slip into my office unnoticed.” Alrik lit his pipe and took a long hit, coughing as a tell-tale reek filled the air. It was a rainy day; the aches were particularly bad. He still maintained eye contact with the creature atop his desk, a familiar tail facing him alongside its master. It was definitely easier not to bat an eyelash when stoned, but he aired on the side of caution; after all, their last meeting involved him dropping a picture frame on them. “He wasn’t half as entertaining as you seem to be, mind. Actually kind of a buzzkill.”

He had no way of knowing whether or not he’d pluck a nerve. He wasn’t entirely sure if it was a coincidence or not. All he knew was that someone - something? - beyond comprehension had begun to seek him out. He tried to take it in stride despite how his artificial heart thundered with newfound terror. Or was it excitement? Both, perhaps; it made the most sense. “Now...I’m starting to think you’re seeking me out for something. Unless this is a complete accident, of course.”

That was not to say another planet. No, this was a world... More so adjacent to the vast universe that Earth belonged to. And it was a powerful being, at that. Another God, in fact, but one not of this world, not of any world that was in any galaxy that could easily be found. If time was a river, space was an ocean. And the universes were a book, one page after another something new, but always next to another. 

Des seems to recognize Candid in the way one recognizes a being of immense power. While he does not personally know the god across from him, he recognizes what he is. And he smiles. 

He wears the body of an elderly fat man, just above nine feet tall and broad as a barn in canvas pants, sandals, and a yellow poncho with a blue embroidery. His gray hair is long, nearing to his shoulder blades, with braids throughout it, and around his head like a small crown. His eyes are cyan, glowing a little, his smile is kind. 

“And who might you be?” His voice is soft, too, all of him breathes soft.

Even Evil Has Standards

Alrik is willing to do a lot to get what he wants; there aren't many lines drawn for him. He's not above physical or psychological torture, he's all too eager to gaslight his minions, and he certainly has killed for the mere joy of it. That said, he does have boundaries he's unwilling to cross regardless of circumstance, and cruelty to children is perhaps the biggest one. Don't be mistaken, he doesn't like kids - he finds them bratty and gross, and can't understand why people are so willing to have them when humans dominate the planet already - but he's unwilling to cause harm to them and will even protect them if pushed to do so.

He's also not bigoted. Being pansexual and disabled himself, bigotry simply isn't something he can wrap his mind around. In fact, it's one of the few things he genuinely fights against, and his misanthropy stems partially from just how cruel people are to each other for things such as sexuality, gender, race, ability, et cetera.

It's not a stretch to call him a monster. Just not a complete monster.

The only hint of flavor would be the small pockets of cigarette smoke breaking free from the mass's clutches. Xavier though, didn't flinch.
