Des believes this man to be lying. He finds it very unlikely that he would have dropped one of his guns, and even more unlikely that it wouldn't have caused a sort of distressed reaction from the crowd he's in if he had dropped it.

Still, someone with stealthy enough fingers to pull it off of him catches his interest at once.

"did i?" He asks, tone just a little too sweet. But still, he smiles, and then he takes the weapon without another word, pulling his shirt up momentarily to tuck it away safely on his person. "well, i'll have to be just a little bit more careful, won't i?"

The God hums, and reaches down, brushing a calloused hand against Nightmare's cheek, caressing it for just a moment, before he lets out a bellowing laugh.

"lead the way, then. if you have been looking for me... well. i'm sure it must be of upmost importance."

The fall of an empire was a sad sight to see. Des had come into existence after the fall of a grand empire, a world full of empires, fallen. He had come into a world broken, a world destroyed, a world in ruin. And he had brought it back from the brink.

To see an empire fallen celebrated filled Des with distaste, but the celebration does not exactly surprise him. A rival empire is a rival empire. Rival Gods are Rival Gods.

Still, the god clicks his tongue to show his displeasure, though it seems more like a gentle scolding than it does true displeasure. Hades reminded him of his brother. Not only because his brother, too, ran the world beneath the world, but in their strange way of celebrating the decline of civilization.

"celebrate? hardly." But his smile reappears, his hands clasp together at his chest, and he looks at the bow with wonder. A bow was not his weapon of choice, but revealing his guns to a world not yet entirely aware of them seemed like a silly idea.

"it has been some time since i have used a bow. no, no, a man i know used one, though. a follower of mine, he'd have been a fine ri'der... it is such a shame he disappeared." Des's face clouds, but only for a moment, before that easy smile is back, and he takes the bow. Softly humming, he looks it over, knocks and arrow, and takes his aim.

A moment later, the arrow goes flying, and hits its mark, just next to where Hades's arrow had landed. Des's smile broadens.

"i could show you such a sight, in a true competition, i think."

So no matter what happens, it's pretty much agreed upon that the two need help. Along with the fact that they really can't just be left to wander, no matter how well they were doing.

(Bruce is having flashbacks to walking into Tim's stalker-shrine room when they look through the toddler's notebook) Because like, Match was pretty much live. A lot of people saw him, and a lot more will continue, so it's not even close to being safe. For all they knew? Cadmus might've thought they had died since they were already deemed failures. But now everyone in the knows not only is at least one alive, but nearly fought Superman to a standstill.

Probably could've if not for the fact that they're a half-starved teen- though the half-feral part probably helped with the can't predict what the Duck attack is going to be next.

AITA for trying to win back my husband after i dropped him from the sky?

Listen. I know how this sounds. I(M, 180ish) and my husband (M, 60ish) have been going through what I'd call a rough patch in our marriage. after our daughter (F, 30ish) left home he fell into a depression. I was miserable too, as no matter what I did I could not win him back over. for years I was neglected, only for our daughter to return home after her abandonment and demand that he leave me to travel with her. The gall! I wish i was surprised, but my husband was ready to abandon 30 years of marriage at the first sight of our child in years. I will admit, I got a bit mad. I'm prone to yelling, and I may have grabbed my daughter by the throat. not my proudest moment, but my husband insisted on escalating things into a full brawl. I was not for this, but after much pressing, i flew high into the sky and dropped him. I will say that I regret this and have apologized profusely on countless occasions. However it was not a fatal drop, and it was only a few months before he was recovered. I have since been showering him with gifts and apologies, my best attempts to make amends. both he and my daughter are only responding with hate and vitriol. after ages of trying I'm finally starting to wonder- AITA?

Update: because a lot of you have been commenting about our age gap i'll try to clear some things up. we met when i was 150 and he was 33, a fully grown man running his own business and caring for his family. it's not like i preyed upon a young boy with no life for himself. anyway, who else am i meant to date at my age?? also if you guys had met our daughter you wouldn't be as mad about the whole assaulting her thing.

Update 2: okay so I have some good news and bad news. I was able to win him back, and we returned to our happy life for a good while. I tried to make amends with our daughter, but, well. she plotted my murder. I type this from a dump with my throat slit. I may have fumbled

In regards to the other portrait of Lestat - I actually thought it was quite fitting, given all the art I‘ve seen around in galleries and museums.

Thankfully @woodsmokeandwords put my rather unformed thoughts into words, especially wrt to the choices made in the art - and I second that I hope the artist didn’t see some of the fandom’s reactions, because their art was actually very much on point.

(I feel so bad for the people who're trying to scroll through our blogs and just get walls of text lol) If not lemme know or just ignore lol. So hypothetically, kind of wanna return to closer to the beginning, of the two on the streets, haven't been exactly discovered yet. Not fully local cryptids either yet, but there's definitely been a shaky video or two of "shadow people" in some abandoned buildings. (Because let's be honest, someone is getting some sort of video that would be sent in to one of the youtube channels about ghost videos before the whole cryptid thing even started. Not to mention audio videos of the 3am noises)

But also, I realized something. They're experiencing food and such for the first time (for the most part, & Danny was used to ecto-contaminated literally living food) while on the streets. Do... would they have context for good food? Do they almost make themselves sick the first time they eat food? We know kryptonians can straight up eat bullets, and stuff other things definitely can't, but hypothetically they could still get food poisoning, right?

Match is partially taking cues from Danny when it comes to survival, or at least figuring out what they need. But like, Danny is also very much.... not a normal kid, even if he wasn't a 3 year old amazonian-alien clone. Like Fentons are wild, reincarnated or no, and Danny's sense of what's safe or edible or normal is slightly.... y e a h. Though who knows how much he can recall at once.

El murciélago bañado por las sombras y el ángel de la muerte (Nombre temporal).

Entonces tengo esta idea loca desde hace unas horas.

El Surgimiento de la idea:

en algún momento escuche este concepto de que cada persona tiene su propio ángel de la muerte el cual se encarga de recoger el alma de la persona fallecida cuando llega su hora, a veces cuando alguien enfrenta una situación en la que casi muere, realmente muere por un tiempo o uno de esos momento donde su vida pasa frente a sus ojos por así decirlo pueden verlo.

la mayoría no lo recuerda y los pocos que si lo hacen no hablan de ello.

esto anterior mas un recuerdo vago de un capitulo de un fic de DP donde danny escribe un poema acerca de una platica que tubo con la muerte donde esta le dice que no puede llevarse a danny (aunque no recuerdo si es porque danny es el rey fantasma o por ser un halfa).

La Idea como tal:

de estas dos ideas se me ocurrió lo siguiente.

Danny siendo el angel de la muerte de cass, pero si bien danny es el angel de la muerte de cass el nunca podra llevarla al lugar que le corresponda para descansar por la eternidad y si te preguntas el porque pues porque el destino y la vida se niegan a dejar morir y descansar a ciertas personas.

Por fortuna(?) la mayoría de los héroes son algunas de estas personas y por desgracia(?) un buen numero de villanos también.

la situación es tal que no importa el que o el como pero esa persona selecciona escapara de apenas con vida de una muerte segura o volverá a la vida unos segundo, unos minutos o algunos meses e incluso algunos años después.

el método para que vuelvan puede ser cualquiera pero al final siempre escapan de las manos de su ángel de la muerte.

cass es una de esas pocas personas que pueden recordar a su ángel de la muerte.

aquí es donde por mi parte pierdo el hilo de como quiero escribir ( jaja no puedo escribirlo aunque mi vida dependa de ello) esta idea.

Porque por un lado me encantaría que esto fuera un cass x danny donde los únicos momento donde ellos pueden interactuar y hablar es cuando cass esta en una situación cercana a la muerte pero nunca podran estar verdaderamente juntos por que el destino y las propias convicciones de cass le impiden morir o permanecer muerta.

lo que me lleva a la idea de que cass escriba cartas o poemas para su ángel(?) para dárselos en esos raros momento en los que se encuentran, pero el problema es que cass es demasiado buena para enfrentar regularmente ese tipo de situaciones donde se puedan encontrar.

y por otro lado esta la idea de que sean algo asi como amigos y/o danny sea una especie de mentor de cass desde que ella era joven y escapo de las garras de su progenitor.

ya que cuando era mas joven enfrento varias llamadas cercanas debido a la desnutrición y/o enfermedades debido andar escapando la mayor parte del tiempo de la persecución de david (creo que así se llama).

estoy seguro que existen otras rutas para llevar esto e incluso otros barcos, pero con mis habilidades actuales no puedo llevar a cabo esta idea asique la comparto con ustedes para que agreguen o la usen a su antojo.
