So, this is it. The end of Rooster Teeth. The end of something I spent half of my life watching. I got into RT through randomly stumbling across Season 1 of Death Battle by chance and I never looked back. I spent more than half of my life watching their stuff, laughing along with their jokes, and being inspired by the people who made it. They were a source of joy in my life, especially in times when I really needed it. The talent and passion of those that worked there always shined through on everything they did. To those who worked there, I'm sorry it ended the way it did, and I wish them the best of luck as you go forwards. I'll always remember the heart and soul they put in, the engrossing stories they told, and hilarious insanity you really can't find anywhere else.
But, while there was a lot of good, there was also a lot of bad. The crunch, the toxic bro culture, the sexual predator that worked there for 12 years, it was a mess. It is horrible that any of this happened at all, and to those who were effected by it, I am so sorry you had to go through that. I felt terrible about being sad it closing for this reason, but after some reflection, I think what I'm really sad about is how much it meant to people. Me, the other fans, and all the employees, anyone who saw the goodbye stream could testify to that.
From that shared meaning spawned a community that I was a part of. One that unquestionably had a lot of problems as well, (I'm definitely not going to miss the anti-woke grifters when they inevitably move on to the next thing), but a community nonetheless. I don't really talk about my personal life on here much but, I'm not good with social interactions or maintaining relationships with people I don't see daily. I haven't ever really had a job before despite my attempts to get one, and well, given that I want to work in the TV/Film industry and the state that it's currently in...yeah. I sometimes feel like a failure, wonder why I should even bother trying.
But with RT, I had a community of people who were like me. People who I could nerd out with and not really worry about alienating. People I could laugh and cry with. I felt like I had a place here like I never really did elsewhere. One of my big regrets is that I never had the opportunity to go to a fan event and meet others in my community in person. But the good news is, despite the company closing, the community is still going to stick around for a long time. The fanmade archives are a thing, and many of the shows are either already going to continue, or in talks to continue.
Tonight, I decided to watch one final thing on their website and I chose Red vs Blue Season 13, partly because it's one of my favorite, if not the favorite, things this media company ever put out. But I also chose it because of the ending. Because even when things are bleak, even when the future is uncertain, there will always be hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, that your friends (and Rooster Teeth employees in this case) will all eventually be okay. In other words, because in the end, you just have to have faith. Ain't that a bitch?
Being a fan wasn't always easy, but I look around at everyone talking about what Rooster Teeth and its community meant to them, and I know that is why we were here. And I'm glad I was here with all of you.

I think it's time I posted our business plan on here. But first I want to say that my LLC is Rancher Toads
Warner Brothers owns the Red vs Blue IP which is a big hurdle, but someone bigger than them owns HALO. Microsoft and Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries). I bet Halo Studios is looking for a HALO show that works. Red vs Blue can be that show. It has over a decade of success, started a new form of animation, is an established IP, and has a massive fan base wanting more. But first we need to open a path with Microsoft and Halo Studios. However, we will not rely on Microsoft to be more than a sponsor and partner. Having a bigger parent company owning our smaller studio is too risky. My plan is:
Depending on how much Warner Media will be selling the rights for, we may need Microsoft to help get the rights back from Warner Media, which will cost them a pretty penny. But it will be a wise investment as they will get product placement, a percentage of profit, free advertisement for HALO, a successful HALO based show, and a good PR campaign about supporting creatives. Another financial bonus for them may be that when big companies take on some debt, it helps them pay even less in taxes. Which will save them money.
Meanwhile, to pay for operation costs and possibly even getting the rights back, we will do a Kickstarter. Death Battle got funded within a day of their campaign. They set their goal as $75,000 (USD), and by the end of it they made $740,000 (USD)! I have no doubt that Red vs Blue can reach its goal and continue operations. Reward items and future merchandise is a strong suit for my company, Rancher Toads.
Rancher Toads was originally founded when things regarding Rooster Teeth and making animated shows started to change. We want to make the animations that we originally would have pitched to Rooster Teeth. But- Animation is a labor intensive art form, and expensive. This is why we call our business model a reverse hasbro- We sell toys to make animation. (They infamously are known for “Make animation to sell toys”.) Our in house merch includes:
Mod Mods
Short for “Modification Models”, these figurines are posable, interchangeable, and extremely customizable. We want to do Red vs Blue and Halo batches, while providing custom Halo armor options so fans can make their own personal armor. Then with the interchangeable aspect, fans can also make their face claims of who is under the helmet.
Sewed’s Boutique
Sewed’s Boutique is more for fabric based fashion, such as bags, cosplay parts, and the like. A few concepts we have worked on that combine Red vs Blue and Sewed’s Boutique include: An Agent Washington helmet purse that is a 2D front facing image of Wash’s helmet. A Kaikaina “Sister” Grif Cheerleader bag. A Felix helmet purse that is a 2D front facing image of his helmet.
Corrode’s Armory
Corrode’s Armory is an offshoot of Sewed’s Boutique, where we sell more armor and weapon based merchandise. We would love to produce an official HALO armor line. Reasonably, it will start with HALO helmets. The plan is to have them made from two (2) sturdy, yet thin, resin molds. One for the helmet, and one for the visor.
I bring up using resin as I plan to use high quality alternatives to plastic when it comes to armor and figurines. Ridding plastic in all fabrics will be an uphill battle later to come.
Merchandise is not the only thing we want to be involved in when it comes to hopefully continuing Red vs Blue. We want to be involved in the writing. We see Red vs Blue having a canon map that looks like a subway map, or the Hyrule timeline. Our contribution to this messy, but organized, canon map is what we like to call- Red vs Blue ReBooted.
This will take place after Wash was shot, and instead of going on an adventure, the Reds, Blues, and Carolina stay beside Wash as he recovers on Chorus. In a way, it echoes the ending of Season 17, while leaving the canon of Seasons 16 and 17 in the air. We have much more planned out but legally, this proposal will not cover the majority of storyline ideas. But we will say we do have plans for both Meta Tucker and Zero to have proper stories.
We also want Miles Luna to have his chance to make a Mercs spin off series. While Luna has adopted an idea for Felix and Siris from one of our members, we want/plan Miles Luna to have majority creative control on his series.
Shisno Tales, a Red vs Blue anthology. This would be a perfect spot for officially making the Red vs Blue plays Among Us episode. We and our Amphibian Allies have a lot of episode ideas written down and even completed scripts. Shisno Tales will include different animators and forms of animation.
Project Freelancer Remembered. A spin off of seeing Project Freelancer’s early days and how close the Freelancers were before the mind games started.
Blue vs Pink is my own little talking in a box canyon idea. I plan to keep it in Shisno Tales. As there are a lot of show ideas being pitched here. It deals more with gender and sexuality. As Pink Team represents femininity, and Blue Team represents masculinity.
Locus Redemption. A space western. Not in the way that Firefly was, but Locus traveling around the universe trying to make things right after Chorus. A show the reds and blues will make cameos in. I see this as a true M rated show. One thing I want to put in this show is to highlight even more corruption of the UNSC. Specifically, where Locus is out in little known Outposts, that the UNSC is dead serious about occupying, even with great harm to the people originally there.
Circling back to the Mod Mods, the dream is to have these customizable figurines be building blocks for Mod Mod Media. Which would include a life simulator game, a more contained scenario game, and animated crossovers. We imagine most of the crossovers would be like Cartoon Network City bumpers from the 2000’s. But we dream even bigger to make Mod Mod Movies. Especially a Red vs Blue & RWBY crossover, as there should be one. But also to show while owned by different companies, they will always be sister shows. Then of course ones with our own original IPs, I see these as a love letter.
Nothing Rancher Toads plans to do is a cash grab. Bringing back IPs and expanding them is an act of creative love. We are not ready for goodbye, and neither should the creatives who put so much love into it. So please, take us seriously and let us work together. Thank you.

So any thoughts on the news from Rooster Teeth regarding The stuff they're putting on the rooster teeth site?
I've only heard about this all second-hand, but the anthology series in particular has me going "Meh" at best and "Not again" at worst. The latter because (as we're all well aware) RWBY has a long history of dividing up information across its (flexible) canon, rather than consolidating it within the story proper, which makes that story... a mess. So I can perfectly picture a version of Volume 10 where important questions/revelations/world building are glossed over—or outright ignored—and when fans rightly want to know why the main characters aren't getting info about what occurred while they were gone, the answer is, "Oh we heard about that in passing in the side show developed during the hiatus." Emphasis on "we"—the viewers. RWBY tends to assume that if the viewer has certain information then they don't need to repeat that for the characters, despite this being a series where secrets and half-truths abound. And while that's a logistical issue all on its own, it also robs us of the chance to see the characters reacting. I don't want to watch a side installment to figure out what was happening in Remnant during Volume 9, then watch a Volume 10 where I have to assume via twitter announcements that the girls maybe learned about an undetermined amount of that stuff off screen. I want to SEE them learning with us in real time and once we have that framework, yeah, then you can flesh it out with an anthology series. It's far more satisfying to learn alongside Ruby that—as a random example—Sun and Neptune had all these cool adventures as a way of forwarding their friendship, then see those adventures animated down the line. As opposed to seeing it and then going, "I guess Ruby heard about that too? Maybe?? They haven't actually interacted on screen yet though, so...."
Of course, this is likely being done not only to fill the RWBY void, but to get our some of that Volume 10 info (epilogue included) in case the real deal is never green-lit. But again, I'd rather have confirmation. If Volume 10 is never going to arrive then fine, I get it, you publish what you can. But if there is still a chance of it happening then RT is shooting itself in the narrative foot by rushing and telling bits of the story too early. The hook of Volume 9's ending is the shock of seeing everyone semi-united in Vacuo, but still dealing with a myriad of problems. What happened immediately after evacuation? How did people rebuild? When (and why tf) did Ruby become this god-like martyr? Have they already spoken to Theodore? What new plans have been made to combat Salem? There are a lot of questions that arise from a time skip, questions the characters share, but if the audience gets many of those answers before they do AND the show doesn't lean into repeating that information for us to indulge in the characters' emotional reactions to it instead... what little that's currently interesting about Volume 10 goes down the drain.

My goodbye to Rooster Teeth.
I know this isn’t exactly recent news anymore, but yeah. Rooster Teeth is closing. It hit me hard when I heard that. I’m not going to lie, I haven’t watched much of their content at all in the past 6-7 years. Not since I was just starting college back in like 2018/2019.
I was also late to the party in the first place. I didn’t start watching Rooster Teeth until like 2013-2015? I believe it was the Minecraft let’s plays with Achievement City or the Rage Quit Series that got me started. RWBY, one of my all time favorite shows, came later. And after that, it was the podcasts, and Red vs. Blue. I only got to about season 15 I think, but it was definitely awe inspiring.
But despite that, RT was a huge part of my teenage years. I would come home from school and just watch countless videos from them. Sometimes stuff all the way back to their first years of creating things.
Now, it's all kind of just... over. I kind of feel like I've known some of them for so long, it hurts hearing this happen to them. Geoff especially hurt me... I cried as soon as I heard him on their response video thing. That man put his life, mind, heart, body, and soul into that company and now it's just gone. That feels so wrong to me. I hope all the employees will find great ways to keep following their passions and express all the creativity that they have shown over the last two decades. I know that no company can really last forever, but that doesn't make this any easier.
Obviously, I don't know what's going to happen to their intellectual properties, but I hope they don't end, RWBY in particular. It's been such a long journey for its creators and fans, this just can't be the end. I really do hope that it's continued. If not by Kerry or its other current writers and animators, then someone else. I heard that dillongoo, a former animator from RWBY (who makes really cool animations on youtube too), was interested in possibly buying the rights to RWBY which would be fitting in my opinion. We will all just have to wait and see.
In the meantime, I went and downloaded as much RWBY content as I could find and also some RT Animated Adventures because I don’t know what’s going to happen when the official shutdown comes. If the website and youtube channel gets shut down too then I don't want those to be lost for good. I wish I could download a lot more to save it all, but I just don't have that kind of time or storage space
I don't know what will happen in a few months after they're officially shut down, but regardless...
ROOSTER TEETH!
Thank you for the 21 years of joy, sadness, laughs, tears, comfort, suspense, adventure, inspiration, and family you gave us.
I wish you all the absolute best in your futures!

Rooster teeth shutting down is so surreal because I haven’t even paid attention to their content for 5 years, (since the RH situation tbh) which in itself left it’s scars.
But the most surreal is thinking about how many people I showed RWBY, their Animated adventures, and let’s play. I was literally FIXATED on achievement hunter from age 13–20. They’re the only voices I could fall asleep too. The only charity I’d donate to, being extra life.
Like to look back and realize it’s all over now is fucking crazy. RT truly left an impact on me far greater than I was willing to accept when this news first arose.
Bye Cock Bite, although I felt let’s play died in 2019, I still want to acknowledge your presence these last 5 years because I couldn’t bring myself to appreciate it anymore.
Thank you and goodnight 🫡

Wow, Rooster Teeth is shutting down. How am I both surprised and not surprised at the same time? I haven’t really kept up with them in a few years and Camp Camp was the last thing that I really liked from them. I also really liked the Animated Adventures and the first three Minecraft videos, they were really impactful back when I was younger.
One thing I’m worried about is Warner Bros Discovery deleting all the videos from their channels. So please, save as many videos as you can, and use the internet archive to save backups of these videos if they go down. I’ve already made a new Dropbox account and saved my favorite videos (and some other ones that I think are important).
I know the company has been going downhill for a few years but this was so sudden. I wish the best for all the employees and I hope they find new jobs soon.
For my fellow Rooster Teeth fans, it’s been fun making memories like this with you all. I wish you all the best and maybe we can make more memories together going forward. Take care, all ❤️.

Y'know… I thought I'd hate the Jaune episode.
But it's just… I don't know.
Now that the whole show is ending because zaslav had to be a greedy-ass motherfucking zionist animation-hating kkkunt, I just…
I'm going to miss this.
What WB is doing to RT is heinous. I've seen too many shows that ended without a proper finale, and it was hard. But with RWBY… It really feels like I grew up with it.
Yeah, it had its ups and downs, the company as well, but the whole thing was a pillar of internet culture and entertainment. A lot of animators, artists, writers, gamers, and so many more people who brought us the culture of internet entertainment were inspired by Rooster Teeth.
And it's really not fair that they're getting wiped out like this.
In all honesty, I thought that it would have been bankruptcy that would have done them in, not some greedy company whose stocks are going down, but whose CEO is profiting off of all the destruction of entertainment.
It truly feels like these are the end times. And that nothing else is really going to be here at the end.
Even if people were inspired because they wanted to one-up RT in terms of how to write a racism subplot, or because they wanted a show that actually knew how to write trauma, or because they wanted to spite them in some form… They were still inspired in a way.
And then there are the people who wanted to make something that emulated what they made. Something with fantastic adventures. Something with a fun cast. Or even just something that had a lot of action to it…
Rooster Teeth, for better or for worse, was an inspiration to a lot of people. I doubt we would have gotten a resurgence of internet sketches if it weren't for them. Podcasts wouldn't be as accessible without them.
And most of all… I wouldn't have really been able to articulate my thoughts here if it weren't for them.

Jon risingers wife divorced him after reading rpf between him and a male coworker and assuming it was true lol. His coworker had to testify in the court they were in fact not fucking
ok let’s break this down bc i had never heard of this man in my life and i don’t know anything about rooster teeth but after 20 minutes of googling it seems pretty clear that
1. his coworker did not have to testify in court bc it was removed from the case after jon explained to his ex that it was fanfiction
2. that suggests that it actually wasn’t the only reason they got divorced
3. he and blaine talked about it on their podcast after which makes it seem like it doesn’t make them that uncomfortable
4. those clips were then turned into two animated adventures videos with a combined 3.5 million views (both have ads)
5. maybe his ex wife is just stupid?

No. 1 on my list of top animated series for 2023: "RWBY"
youtube
It was hard to choose which series would be number on on this list. This anime-inspired science fantasy action-adventure series joins the next six series on this list, with a total score of five in animation, voice acting, music, and story. Although I may have been too generous with those ratings, the ninth volume/season of RWBY really blew me away, more than any other series. It remains more captivating than previous volumes. It has mature themes such as death, suicide, blood, torture, animal death, and physical (and emotional) abuse. Those themes are not treated lightly, and shown with care, as opposed to gen:LOCK.
This series centers on four protagonists (Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long) who are training to be warriors. The ninth volume has a classic conflict between good vs. evil, intricate storytelling, horror elements, character development, and strong visuals. The protagonists are stranded in the Ever After, a magical land. Even so, they still have their superpowers-of-sorts. The magic and sci-fi elements are often emphasized. Representation is stronger than ever. There have been LGBTQ+ characters before Volume 9, but the scene between Blake and Yang is a stand-out for 2023. Both realize their feelings for each other and kiss. Even so, Volume 9 could have been longer. RWBY should have more Black and Brown characters in the cast, at the very minimum.
Some predicted Warner Bros. Discovery's bankruptcy, due to the corporate mismanagement resulting from CEO David Zaslav's actions since May 2021. This includes a HBO Max content purge (with some titles turned into tax write-offs), removal of many Warner Bros' animated programs from streaming platforms, and cuts to Turner Classic Movies. Bankruptcy could put Rooster Teeth's RWBY into peril, unless Crunchyroll buys Rooster Teeth. Regardless of Rooster Teeth's documented internal problems, such as sexual harassment, bad work conditions, and discrimination, a buyout is possible considering the existing Crunchyroll-Rooster Teeth relationship . After all, the film Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen, released in two parts in April 2023 and October 2023, has been well-received.

According to the article, their primary reason for shutting down is because, in a paraphrased way, they aren't seen as consumer friendly to mass media producers. And that's just bullshit imo.
Growing up myself, I remember discovering Rooster Teeth on YouTube, early on in the 2000s. I'd watch their animated adventures, and the ones I remember most were of a guy freaking out that he finally got to experience an earthquake, and the team being chased down by a guy with a knife at some sports field. The videos were full of uncensored swears, and a ton of vulgar language in general. My parents hated that I watched stuff like that, but it made me laugh like mad and gave me my childhood.
Years later, as an adult, I watched a few episodes of Camp Camp, and it was basically the same hilariously vulgar bullshit RT always made, only with high quality animation this time. I laughed all over again and fell in love once more.
I remember when YouTube, and the general internet, was an unregulated hellground for stuff like this. You had creepypastas, SpongeBob spoofs that mocked politics, and every single video ever basically, unless it was the Gummy Bear song or a Fred video, had swearing and vulgar language in it.
Nowadays, every platform seemingly uses a soulless filtering system that's automated, and detects what is typed, spoken, etc. and it bans users for words as simple as "smack", "blood", "link", and so on. I myself have been banned for saying those in harmless contexts (smack a rock with a stick, talking about scars, and sharing a link to a recipe). My friends have gotten banned for posting videos where our old high school marching band played popular songs, and the filtered system detected the melodies and banned them for posting such content.
I tried to post on Instagram a few months back, and needless to say I haven't touched it since because of this. I was posting a photo of myself with my completely several years healed top surgery scar showing, and the system tagged it as gore, and banned me. When I came back, someone had hacked my account and followed a ton of literal porn bots. So porn is allowed, but a shirtless pic of myself with a scar isn't??!!
Today, jobs do background checks searching for your social media and try to find what you post, then scrutinize employees for posting things. They'll fire you for posting pics of yourself at a party because you were drinking a single wine glass in the pic, and alcohol consumption is a bad look for the company. They'll fire you if you post something about your volunteer project because you're supposed to be representing the company at all times and not another organization you partake in.
Basically, social media and the general internet, are stalked so heavily by monitors (both automated and human), and what once was a place for harmless fun has now become a desolate boring hellscape of cleansed and filtered pay to view bullshit. If you're not completely following a service's guidelines beyond what is expected, and if you don't remain a virtual puritan in literally every way, you're banned from basically every service out there online.
And I'm not saying that children should be allowed to see extreme gore and crap like that. But when you're me, and your high school years were spent with half the time dedicated to teachers attempting to get approval during class time to show us a harmless educational video or a student's presentation but couldn't because literally only individual URLs could be approved by staffing through multiple internet blockers and proxy servers since the school didn't want kids playing on Miniclip, Poptropica, and watching YouTube, you know the internet has become far too overregulated and is absolutely bullshit nowadays.
And for one of the staples of internet self made popularity as Rooster Teeth, to be shut down because all big corporations are conforming to this cleansed and puritan filtering, and RT does not adhere to that, I say fuck big corporations and streaming services. Fuck babying the internet. These kids are going to grow up and walk into society hearing a single swear, and freak out running away because they think that word is absolutely forbidden in all contexts and places. Now, it's completely natural to be shocked hearing swears as a kid and even a teen, especially depending on what environment you grew up in, but I'd say it isn't normal whatsoever to grow into an adult who still feels that way, and then tells other grown adults they can't swear just because they the listener are uncomfortable with it. Learning that swears aren't forbidden is like a turning point for teens, and it's insane that society is trying to push even grown adults who can manage themselves, into puritan culture, just to cater to the sake of children who may possibly come across such content by accident.

Tagged by : The wonderful @thegoddesswater~!
She actually tagged me a while ago, but I completely forgot to do it. Opps. Better late than ever right? XD
Last song: Worthy (Bmblb pt. II) by Casey Lee Williams and Ariyel. Truly we are blessed with not just one but multiple songs dedicated to Bumbleby. I may have listened to this one in particular a whole ton, I just love it so much *_*
Currently watching: I'm currently watching My adventures with Superman, and I'm also watching modern family with my parents. The last show I finished was the One Piece live action show; which was actually my first experience with One Piece. I really REALLY enjoyed it, so I may bite the bullet and start the manga or anime.
Currently reading: Just good olde fanfiction at the moment, I really need to get on my butt to start reading my pile of unread books.
Current obsession: Rooster Teeth's RWBY franchise. If my endless art of it characters doesn't make it obvious that I've fallen hard for this show. Hell it's the first show in a while I actually brought physical media,(a blu ray to be exact), in awhile.
Okay, now who to tag...
@spadesfiction
@choco-choco-menta
Only if you guys want to of course! I also generally say any of my mutuals can count themselves as tagged!
