Tonowari and Ronal loved each other dearly. When they fell for each other it was like putting a puzzle together. When they mated before Eywa, they felt like everything in their life fell into place, but they always felt like there was a missing piece to their relationship –or what they later realized was that it was rather a missing person.
They loved being with each other, but they felt like having another mate would be the perfect addition to their relationship. They've been searching for a mate, from their clan and the neighboring Ta'unui Clan, but every woman they encountered wasn't a good fit for either them or their lifestyle.
At one point, they felt like giving up, assuming that they would never find another mate. All until Eywa gave Ronal a vision.
A woman adorned with a black skin complexion, thick jet-black hair, and bright yellow sun kissing her skin giving her an exquisite glow and bringing out the hazel in her ebony eyes.
The mystery woman dismounted an ikran, settling her feet into the tan-colored sand, walking with an aura of warmth, confidence, and most of all beauty.
Ronal opened her eyes and her face scrunched with confusion."Great mother, what is the meaning of this vision? Who is this tawtute and what is her significance?" Ronal was hoping Eywa would answer her questions and reveal this woman's identity, but Eywa didn't have anything to say, at least for now.
As one of the warriors blew the conch shell, Ronal and Tonowari jumped up from their seats in their home and began to walk to where the crowd of villagers was. When the clan members saw their Olo'eyktan and Tsahìk, they immediately parted so they could walk through with ease.
As Ronal and Tonowari put their eyes on the forest Na'vi, they were both confused, wondering why they had flown across Pandora to come to their clan. While Tonowari was speaking to Jake Sully trying to figure out their reason for arriving at their home, Ronal saw a small silhouette behind the Sully family.
When the person stepped out from behind them, it was you; the woman in Ronal's vision from Eywa. Ronal was immediately stunned at the sight of you, her vision didn't do your beauty any justice, in Ronal's eyes, you were ethereal.
As Tonowari looked over at Ronal, he could see the awestruck expression on her face, so he followed her gaze and it landed on you. You were the first human they ever laid eyes on and they always expected sky people to look ... ugly. But you were the complete opposite, it was as if you were molded with perfection.
"Tonowari, that is the tawtute from my vision." She turned and whispered to him softly.
"What do you want to do? Do you want to let her and Jake's family live among us?" Tonowari had his answer, but of course, he wanted his mate's input.
Ronal knew you were important, especially since Eywa gave her a vision of you. 'Great Mother, who is this woman?' Ronal didn't want to say yes or no until she knew your significance. She opened her heart, hoping to hear the voice of Eywa and tell her who you were.
After long moments of silence, she decided on giving up. Thats when she heard the faint, awaited voice.
'She is your future mate.'
Ronal’s eyes widened at Eywa's words. 'Mate? A human as a mate?' She almost couldn't fathom the idea, the thought of having a sky person as a lover, but when she took a glance at you again and saw your eyes scan the island with excitement and wonder, she knew you were the one, the person she and Tonowari have been searching for.
"Yes, we will let them stay and you won't believe what the Great Mother has had in stock for us." A faint smile tugged at Ronal's lips, excited to tell her mate how Eywa had blessed them.
When Ronal and Tonowari allowed you and the Sullys’ to stay in Awa'atlu, you were so excited to explore their flora, fauna, and their way of life.
At first, you were nervous around the Metkayina, and the way they’d stare you down anytime you walked around the village made you anxious.
Everyone was gigantic compared to you which you thought you would be used to since you'd been living among the Omatikaya, but the reef Na'vi were different, especially Tonowari and Ronal.
Their majestic physique, teal skin, beautiful oceanic eyes, and powerful and authoritative personalities made you instantly attracted to them.
As you watched Tsireya lead the Sully Family to their marui, you trailed behind them while gathering your belongings. As you walked, trying your best to keep up with them, you saw two shadows tower over you. You turned around and saw Tonowari and Ronal's blue irises looking down at you.
"What are you called?" Ronal asked while taking a closer look at your appearance. She could see you had a beauty mark on your face right beside your full lush lips just like her.
You were quiet for a few moments, shaken to the core that the two leaders, the two people you found attractive were speaking to you, "I-I'm y/n l/n." You said in a soft tone as nervousness bubbled within you upon the feeling of their piercing eyes staring at you.
"Well, y/n l/n, my mate and I wanted to welcome you to our home." Tonowari flashed you a canine smile.
"Thank you. I love it here so far. I'm excited to learn the ways of your people!"
"My mate and I will be teaching you the way of water." Ronal's face was like a stone as she spoke, not showing any sort of emotion, but deep down she was excited to spend some time with you.
"Really? I mean you both don't have to do that, I know you both probably have busy schedules an-"
"Nonsense!" Ronal cut your sentence short, throwing her hand up to stop you from speaking. "We will show you our ways, teach you to walk and talk as we do, understand?"
The authoritative tone of her voice sent a small shiver down your spine. "Y-Yes, I understand." You mumble, chuckling nervously as Tonowari begins to take your belongings from your hands.
"Since that is settled, let us show you to your marui." Tonowari led you into the village, and with each step, he got lost furthermore in expressing the beauty of Awa'atlu.
After a while of walking, you were in front of a large-sized marui on the more secluded outskirts of the village. When you, Ronal, and Tonowari walked inside, your eyes started scanning every surface with wonder. "Is all of this just for me? This place is gigantic!"
Tonowari and Ronal moved you into the higher-status marui's, a place that is only a few feet down from their home. They wanted you to have your best experience here, especially since one day you were to become their mate. "Yes, all of this is for you. Everything you need should be here already, but if you need anything, let us know and we'll fetch it for you." Ronal spoke in a soft softer tone which didn't go unnoticed by you.
From that point forward, you spent the rest of the day with Tonowari and Ronal, learning more things about them; from their positions as leaders to them just telling you about themselves. You all sat in your marui for hours, laughing, talking, and most of all bonding. The more they spoke to you, they began to see why Eywa chose you for them. You were absolutely perfect.
It's been three months since you arrived in Awa'atlu and you've grown close to Tonowari and Ronal. They've been helping you learn the way of water and it's brought all of you closer together.
The way Tonowari touched the small of your back when he helped you with your position on riding an ilu made a grin appear on your face. And when Ronal helped with your breathing lessons, placing one hand on your diaphragm and the other right over your breasts while telling you how to breathe underwater made you flush.
You loved spending time with them. They would let you shadow them while they did their duties. Ronal would let you sit in the healing pod with her while she created new healing pastes, and Tonowari would let you sit in on some meetings with the warriors.
With each day Tonowari and Ronal spent with you their love for you grew. They were so happy they found you, the missing piece to their puzzle. The couple knew you were the one for them, the mate they needed to complete their relationship.
You were currently sitting at the shore, dipping your toes into the cool ocean water as you let the sun absorb your melanated skin.
As you watch the small fish swim around your feet with ease, you feel a large hand glide down your back.
"Hello, paskalin." Tonowari smiles at you as he sits beside you on the sand. Right behind him was Ronal coming to sit on the other side of you.
‘Honey’, the term of endearment they started calling you a few weeks into your arrival. When you heard them call you that for the first time, it made your heart genuinely smile. Hearing them express their love through that word made you head over heels.
"Hey, 'Wari, Hey Ronal. Are you both done with your duties already?"
"Yes, we completed them early because we wanted to give you something," Ronal tells you, moving her hand to rest on your thigh.
"Give me something? What is it?" Your eyebrows furrow in confusion as your eyes glint with curiosity.
Tonowari shows you a carved shell necklace, made from natural fibers from the beach. As you look at his gift in awe, you look over and see Ronal pull out an armband made out of fine weave and iridescent shells. The jewelry is beautiful, you can tell they poured their hearts into each design.
"Guys, these gifts are beautiful, thank you!" You had no choice but to accept their gifts with a bright smile, heart fluttering at the fact that they took their time to create these for you.
"Of course, we wanted to give you something special. Something that shows you how we feel." Tonowari takes your hand into his, your hand is tiny compared to his. He’s always seen you as delicate, something he had to take precious care of and that's exactly what he planned on doing.
This was the beginning of Ronal and Tonowari courting you and you didn't even realize it.
For the next few months, Ronal and Tonowari have been showering you with gifts and acts of kindness. They brought you nets full of fish and different hunts they killed throughout the day, attempting to show you they were skillful and able to provide for you.
Each time they came by your marui, they would look down at you with prideful grins as they stood in front of you with a cleaned, skinned, cut, and deboned animal that was packaged perfectly and paired with a net full of descaled and fileted fish. You could tell they put a lot of time and effort into delivering these to you, wanting you to do as little as possible when it was time to prepare and cook them.
You received baskets full of custom jewelry and clothes that were made with the finest material and adorned with the most beautiful seashells, delicate beads, and precious flowers. You open-heartedly accepted all their gifts, you felt so spoiled and drowned in affection each time they stopped by your marui with their hands full of presents.
Unbeknownst to you, each thing they gave you were statement pieces made with intricate details, showing everyone who saw each piece of clothing and jewelry you were in the process of being courted.
They began to carve more time out of their day for you, taking you on ilu rides, all of you going nightly swims, and any activity for all of you to bond and create a deeper connection.
Ronal and Tonowari invited you to their marui for dinner today. You decided to wear the reef macrame top and corded loincloth they gifted you with multiple accessories to match.
When you walk in front of their mauri you can see them inside, placing food on their makeshift table.
"Paskalin, come in, come in!" Ronal waves you inside with a wide smile on her face as she sets the table with shell plates.
"Where are Tsireya and Ao'nung? I assumed they would be here." This isn’t your first time spending dinner with them, but every time you came, their children were home.
"They are spending the day with one of my family members. We wanted to have dinner alone with you tonight." Tonowari shows his social etiquette side and pulls the chair out for you like a gentleman –which you find sweet.
The chair was situated next to Tonowari and across from Ronal, which seems like such a perfect situation that allows you to interact and see both during the dinner.
"We wanted to give you another gift." Ronal hands you a shell headpiece made with woven seagrass fronds. The shell is beautiful, it looks smooth and glossy and you were excited to wear it.
"Ronal, Tonowari, this is gorgeous! I'm loving all the gifts I've received from both of you and I'm very grateful, but I do have a question."
"What is it, paskalin?" Ronal asks with a soft tone, ready to answer whatever question you need to be answered.
"Well, I just wanted to know why you've been giving me all these things. I haven't seen you giving anyone else in the village the things you've given me, so I'm just a little confused." This question has been brewing inside you for a while now. You didn't want to say anything because you didn't want to be rude or seem unappreciative of the gifts, but you were growing curious and confused.
Tonowari and Ronal both turn to each other, mirroring the confused expression you had on your face."You don't know the significance of the gifts you've received from us?" Tonowari thought that his intentions were made clear with everything they gifted you. To the mated pair, everything they gave to you screamed courtship.
"No, I don't." With the way Tonowari and Ronal were looking at you, you felt like you should have known what their gifts and gestures meant, but you didn't and there was nothing that you could have done about it except what you’re doing now: asking. You've never been showered with this many gifts and or affection, especially on Earth so all of this was new and confusing to you.
"The gifts, gestures, everything over the last few months are a symbol of us courting you. Ronal and I," Tonowari reaches over and squeezes Ronal hand lightly, "want you to become our mate."
Hearing the words ‘courting’ and ‘mate’ makes your heart feel like it is going to thump out of your chest. "M-Ma-Mate? Both of you want me to be your mate?" It is by all means surprising that two powerful people like them want you, a human, to join their relationship.
"Why would both of you want me? I'm a human." You truly want to hear their reasoning and understand why they would pick you out of all the Na’vi on this island.
"We've been looking for a mate for years now and we didn't have any luck. It had gotten to a point where we wanted to just give up until Eywa sent you to us. You're strong, confident, and beautiful. The way you've excelled in learning our way and helping Ronal with her healing rituals. You’re amazing to us and we want you to become ours." Tonowari states, his eyes glimmering with love and hope that you'll accept his and Ronal's love confession.
Your eyes widen at his words, taken by surprise. "So both of you want me as a mate?" You are in slight disbelief that they actually asked you.
"Yes, that's correct," Ronal says, gently smiling at you.
Your heart is rapidly pounding and your breaths are starting to get shaky. Hearing them confess their love for you made you feel as if you could burst. You knew they took a liking to you, but for them to want you to be an addition to their relationship, become their mate, and make them feel complete means the world to you. The thought of them loving you unconditionally makes tears glaze your eyes.
"It would be an honor to be your mate." A joyous smile spreads across your lips as the tears begin to roll down your cheeks. This is the greatest feeling of your life. Knowing that two people love you unconditionally, that they would forever provide and protect you makes an intense warmth run through your body.
A grin spreads across Tonowari and Ronal's faces hearing you accept their profession of love. Satisfaction flows through Ronal's veins as she hears you agree, she can’t wait to have you officially.
"So how about we make this official, hm?'' Her tone is smooth yet sultry as she stands up and elegantly walks over to you.
"Only if you're ready for that, of course," Tonowari reassures as he places his large hand on your thigh. He doesn’t want to rush you into anything. He wants to take his time with you and carefully explore every aspect of your gorgeous body.
You know what they were insinuating and just the thought makes a fire spread through your core. "Yes, I want to." You speak in a soft tone, eyes flickering with desire as you look between your mates’ sea-colored eyes.
Ronal caresses your face with her hand, stroking her thumb against your glowing skin as she plants a loving kiss on your forehead, resulting in your cheeks turning a shade darker.
When she pulls back, you feel a pair of arms snake around your small frame and lift you. Tonowari clings you to his herculean body as he carries you to the sleeping area of their marui. He gently places you down, letting your feet touch the spongy floor.
"Remove these things." Ronal orders, tugging lightly on your clothing as she grazes her fingers along the jewelry adorned on your body.
You begin to fiddle with the strings of your top, but due to your nervousness, your nimble fingers aren’t allowing you to untie it properly. "Can you guys help me with these, please?" Your voice is laced with purity and innocence which only adds fuel to the desire building within the mated pair.
Without uttering another word, you feel both pairs of hands wander your skin. Ronal unties your top while Tonowari works on your loincloth. You feel your clothing loosen, your loincloth falls to your feet just as you feel Ronal completely remove your bra covering.
Tonowari and Ronal take a few steps back so they can get a better view of you. To say they are in awe would be an understatement, they are completely infatuated with you in every way possible. Both of their eyes are vigorously scanning your body. From your plump and perky breasts to your curvaceous hips and thick thighs, their minds are reeling with all the different things they want to do to you.
“Wow. she looks beautiful,” Tonowari whispers to Ronal –whose eyes are still solely focused on your frame.
Ronal turns to Tonowari and they begin to quietly murmur words back and forth to each other which makes you feel self-conscious. ‘They probably think my body looks weird.’ You think internally.
Without wasting a second, your hands begin to move swiftly to cover up your intimate areas, thinking about putting your clothes back on so you wouldn’t embarrass yourself anymore.
As Ronal continues whispering with Tonowari, she could hear the sound of slight movement behind her. “What do you think you’re doing?” She questions, tilting her head slightly, trying to figure out why you would cover up the thing she is captivated by the most at that moment.
Hearing her voice makes you freeze in place, the grip you have on your clothes loosens and you let them drop back onto the floor. “I- I was just- I thought-“
“You just thought what, paskalin?” Her strong voice pierces the air, causing your voice to tremble due to the nervousness flowing through you. You love the way Ronal talks, each word that falls through her lips is sharp, filled with confidence and authority, but even though you love it, in certain situations like this it still brings up some nerves.
“I just thought that- by the way you and Tonowari were talking amongst yourselves, I assumed that you both didn’t like the way my body looked.” With the way her eyes are boring at you, it makes a nervous chuckle rise from your lips.
“Well, you thought wrong. Now, put your hands down so we can see you fully.” You obey Ronal’s orders and move your hands to your side. You can see a small smirk curl onto Tonowari's lips as he walks up to you. When he is fully in front of you, you find your eyes leveled with his waist, which you think is convenient for the night you all had planned.
Tonowari gently grabs your hand and spins you into a circle, so he could get a full view of your backside. In his eyes, you are blessed in all aspects, but your ass has always been his favorite feature.
“Bend a little bit for me, paskalin” His hand glides along your back, pushing you forward and down towards the ground so he could see you on full display.
As you bend over you could feel his feet moving yours so you could spread your legs wider for him. “Look at that, such a pretty sight.” He mumbles to himself before getting Ronal’s attention. “She’s getting wetter each time we speak.” He speaks in an amused tone as he looks at your glistening folds.
When Ronal sees the sparkle in her mates' eyes, all she can do is chuckle as she walks over to your side.
“Do you mind if we touch you, sweetheart?” You love how they always ask for your consent and check with you to make sure you are comfortable. It makes you feel even more secure and safe with them, which only builds the anticipation of what is going to happen between the three of you.
“Yes, please, touch me.” The slight desperation intertwined in your tone makes Ronal’s want to satisfy you increase. She places her hand on your thigh, slowly moving it against your soft skin, teasing her way to your core that is covered in your slick. Once her digits meet your soaked folds, you know that this night is going to be memorable. You can’t wait for them to have their way with you as much they are excited to mold you into their lives, to officially seal the bond of your new relationship.
The sun peeks over the horizon and begins to shine its light through the makeshift doorway, which causes you to stir in your sleep. As you flutter your eyes open and shift on the sleeping mat, you realize that you were missing the warmth around you. You look around and don’t see Tonowari or Ronal anywhere. You stand up and start looking for your clothes, but you can’t find them either, so you just grab the closest thing in sight –which appears to be a woven blanket, wrap yourself with it, and begin to walk to the open area, trying to figure out where your mates have gone.
“‘Wari? Ronal?”
“In here, paskalin!” As you turn the corner, the aroma of breakfast fills your nostrils. The food smells delicious. A smile spreads across your face as you look at your mates preparing breakfast, feeling like you’re living in a dream and if it was, you never want to wake up knowing that this was the best moment to happen in your life.
In a few minutes, breakfast is served and the three of you sit around the makeshift table. You take a small bite of your meal and the flavors and spices begin to dance on your tongue. The taste is so pleasant, it causes you to let out a soft moan.
“This is amazing!” Your compliment makes a smile shine upon your mates’ faces as they look at you admiringly.
“What did you think of last night?” The question has been floating around Tonowari’s head ever since he woke up this morning. After everything that happened last night, he just wanted to know how you felt.
“We didn’t hurt you. Did we, syulang?” Ronal adds, her face painted with a worried expression. She knows that your body is smaller and more fragile than theirs, so she wants to make sure she wasn’t too rough or hurt you in any manner.
“I loved last night, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had since I’ve come to Pandora. And no, you both didn’t hurt me at all.” You answer, taking their hands in yours. “Both of you were gentle, loving and passionate, and that’s everything I wanted from you. I’m happy all of us are officially together now. Ever since I came here you two have truly lightened up my life and filled my heart with love. I love you both so much.” You finish your statement with tears welling in your eyes, glazing over your brown orbs and trickling down your face. You are so overwhelmed with positive emotions that you feel like you could burst. Your heart is truly overflowing with the joy that you left the forest and found two persons who love you unconditionally.
“We love you too and we always will. You’re our soulmate, our precious gift from Eywa.”

To Love Another ~ Tonowari x Reader x Ronal
Masterlist
Synopsis: Neytiri's mating with Jake had broke your heart deeply. Soon after the war had ended, you set out to the ocean. Unaware of what would come with that decision.
Warnings: cheating (obviously), description of injuries, and minor acts of violence
"Tsu'tey, have you seen Neytiri anywhere? I haven't seen her since she had took Jake to train yesterday." I quickly walk up to Tsu'tey when I see him come storming towards the entrance of Hometree.
A deep scowl was on his face, but as he got closer, his eyes soften just barely. He placed a hand on my shoulder as he guided me inside. "They are fine. But we have to gather the war parties. The sky people have attacked the Tree of Voices."
I frown at the news of what had happened to our sacred lands. I don't bother asking more questions as I walk off to help get the groups organized. Getting all of them gathered around as we listen to Eytukan speak to the clan.
I stand alongside Tsu'tey as I feel him rest his hand on my shoulder. I glance over at him in confusion as he stares at the entrance with a sad look in his eyes. "I am very sorry, my friend."
I look over at the entrance to try and understand what he was meaning. I saw Neytiri walking towards us with Jake following behind as they held each other's hand.
Jake began to speak to everyone about how we needed to handle the situation. Tuning out him and Tsu'tey arguing as I could only focus on Neytiri with a small frown at the fact she wouldn't even glance in my direction.
"You have mated with this woman!" My head turns to Tsu'tey as he exclaimed that to the whole clan.
I feel disbelief as I look back at Neytiri to wait for her to dispute the claim. For her to say she would never betray what we had with each other. That she wouldn't throw away what we had with a vrrtep she had only know for a few months.
"We are mated before Eywa."
I felt my heart shatter as she confirmed what Tsu'tey had said. But what made it all worse was the fact that Neytiri had then finally decided to look at me for the first time since she came back. I glare at her as I tighten my grip on my bow as rage begins to take over my body.
Tsu'tey lunges at Jake as they get into a small fight. Everyone watched as Jake pushed Tsu'tey off of him and threw is knife to the side to show he didn't want to cause anyone harm. He began to try to explain how we had a common enemy that the clan had to fight off together.
In the middle of his speech, Grace fell to the ground unexpectedly. Jake following soon after as Tsu'tey quickly kneeled above him. But Neytiri quickly pushed him off and leaned over Jake protectively with a snarl.
I watched her in disgust as Tsu'tey reluctantly walks back towards us. He grabs hold of my arm to drag me away from the crowd as they began to whisper. "Come. We must begin preparing our defense."
Hometree had fallen, Grace had been killed, and Jake was gathering the clans together after becoming Toruk Makto. Everyone was preparing for the final assault against the sky people.
I was walking around the camp as I checked up on anyone who seemed to need any reassurance for the upcoming fight.
"(Y/n)." My blood runs cold as I hear her voice sound from behind me. I keep walking in hopes she wouldn't try to push for a conversation. But she just grabs hold of my arm as she continued to speak, "(Y/n), I want you to understand-"
"Understand?" I turn to her with a glare as I shove her hand off of me. Not even giving her a moment as I harshly poke her chest as I take a step towards her. "Oh, I understand tiyawn. You made your choice for all the clan to hear. You let them know that I had given you multiple years of my life, time, and unwavering devotion to you for it to just be thrown away for some demon who barely knows you."
Tears prick at the corners of my eyes as I keep talking. Feeling embarrassed and frustrated at the same time as I keep looking at Neytiri. She reached a hand up to try and wipe away at the tears. "(Y/n), don't be sad. I want you to know-"
I slap her hand away with a sharp hiss. "I am not sad. I am furious. I am hurt by what you did. I learned of your disinterest in me after you mated with him. You couldn't even look me in the eyes to tell me the truth about how you really felt." I watch her back up slightly at the harshness of my tone. But I don't relent as I take a step closer each time she backs up. "Oh, but don't worry. After the fight tomorrow, everything will be perfect for you. You'll still be an amazing huntress for the clan with your special little Toruk Makto after all of this. And I'll be remembered as the person who gave you everything before you decided you got bored."
I don't give her a moment to collect herself as I turn away and keep walking through the camp. Only stopping when I find a quiet spot a little ways on the outskirts. Sitting down as I take a few deep breaths to calm my racing heart. Praying to Eywa for a, hopefully, successful outcome for the day that will follow.
"You were very harsh with Neytiri." Tsu'tey's voice sounds as he comes to sit beside me. I give a huff to acknowledge that I heard him, but don't say anything to him. He placed a hand on my shoulder as he continued, "She was trying to make amends. You could have at least heard what she wished to tell you."
"She said she wanted me to 'understand'. Her first words weren't even an 'I'm sorry'." I grit my teeth as I glanced at him. Tears forming in my eyes as I replay the memories I had with her in my head. "I gave her everything I had to offer her. I've loved her for years and she couldn't even give me the decency of letting me know she didn't feel that way anymore. She went and mated with him even though she has only known him for months. What makes him so special? What does Jake Sully have that I couldn't give her? What did I do to be treated like dirt by the woman I loved?"
I let out a weak sob as I finish talking. Wrapping my arms around myself as I stare up at the sky. Tsu'tey doesn't try to explain away why I should have listened regardless. He didn't tell me to pull myself together and keep preparing for the fight. Tsu'tey simply moved his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into a hug as he let me cry.
"I am truly sorry that this all did happened to you. You deserved a better way of learning of what happened. But you are a kind hearted person. You will find someone who will understand that."
I bite my lip while leaning into his side. Wiping my eyes as we watch the stars shine brightly with the night. "But what if I never find someone else?"
"You will. I know it in my heart, my friend."
Weeks had gone by since the assault against the sky people. We had been victorious in the fight despite the fact there were heavy losses. The one that hurt the most was Tsu'tey because I had then lost what felt like everything that was connecting me to the forest. But I found comfort in the fact I knew he was with Eywa and reunited with Sylwanin.
I was currently checking over all my supplies I had tied to my ikran's back. Double checking the medical herbs that I might need to redress the wounds I had gotten from some of the demons during the war.
My ikran made small clicking noises as she looked past the cliff edge into the endless night before us. I rubbed her neck as I let a small shushing noise as I began to do the final preparations.
"Tam tam. It will be alright, Vayvi. We will find somewhere we belong out there." I stare out to the ocean before us with a deep sigh. Patting her neck lightly as I turn back to the forest. "It will be better this way."
I take a step back while taking multiple deep breaths. Shaking slightly as I finally remove the few pieces of jewelry that I had been gifted by Neytiri. Holding them in my hands as I think of where I could set them. Though after a moment, I loosen my grip as they just fall to the dirt haphazardly.
I let out one last sigh before finally climbing onto the back of Vayvi. Using all my self restraint to not look back one last time. Knowing full well I probably wouldn't be able to go through with the plan. That was the whole reason I chose to leave in the middle of the night; so there wouldn't be anything or anyone that could potentially change my mind.
After I make tsaheylu, I give her a small pat before she leaped into the sky. The breeze cold against my cheeks as we kept going. But I let out a small laugh at the feeling of being free after everything that happened because of the sky people.
We continue flying as the sun begins to rise in the sky. I smile at the difference in the color of my morning sky compared to what it looked like from the forest. Vayvi gives a small shriek as she gets a little higher in the air as the light reflects across the water.
We keep on course until storm clouds begin to form around midday. I spot a small formation of rocks a small ways in the distance. Guiding Vayvi over to them, we land just as it begins to rain just slightly. I sigh as I jump off her back to give her a small pat on her neck.
The first thing I do is look down to my stomach to check that my wounds hadn't opened up during the ride. Satisfied that I didn't see any blood smeared against my skin. After that I begin to rummage through my bag before I pull out some dried out meat that I had made sure to stock up with before leaving. I offer a piece to Vayvi, but she jerks her head away with a disgruntled noise.
I sigh as I take a bite of the meat, chewing quickly as I grab my bow and get out a few arrows. Moving over to a spot that was slightly higher than the rest of the rocks I had landed on. Searching the surface of the water as I try to look for some movement against the falling rain.
The moment I see a fish come near the surface, I let loose an arrow just below the reflection I saw. Waiting just a small bit, I smile when the arrow floats back up with the fish. I put my bow down as I carefully step into the water. Only having to swim out a little ways to grab the fish.
Before I could get back to the rocks, I feel the water underneath my feet swirl just barely. I look down to see nothing within my vision, but the sense of being watched began to form in my stomach. Carefully making my way back to the rocks to rest next to Vayvi after retrieving my bow.
I pull off the fish from the arrow and hold it out for her to take the treat I caught for her. She ignored my offer as she looked to the water behind me with a low growl. I kneel down as naturally I can as I set the fish down. Taking a deep breath before shooting back up as I turn my body around. Ignoring the shooting pain in my stomach as I pull back an arrow to be used if needed.
My breathing calms down as I see a few Na'vi sitting on their own mounts in the water. I keep my bow taunt as I look between the men with a guarded expression.
One of them tries to get closer, but I point the arrow at him with a small hiss. He raised his hands in surrender as he stopped guiding his mount closer. "We mean you no harm. We simply wish to know why you are here."
"Resting. Now leave," I quickly demand as I send him a glare. Firmly standing my ground even as Vayvi nudged my side with a soft whine.
He looked down towards my stomach as a worried look crossed his face. "You are bleeding. We can help you back at our village. We could show you the way there if you just follow us."
I stare at him for a few more moments before lowering my bow. Reaching a hand down to feel around my bandages to feel a warm wetness that I knew wasn't from the rain. I bite back a grimace as I finally give a reluctant nod. "Fine."
The man gave his own nod before looking back at his friends. "Go ahead of us and let Ronal know that she will have someone that needs her assistance coming soon." His tone was firm as he spoke, silently demanding his words to be followed to the syllable.
The other men give him curt nods before diving under the water. He watches the water for a moment before looking towards me once again. He sends me a reassuring smile as he turns his mount to the side. I give a nod before getting onto Vayvi's back once again. Huffing as she finally decided to eat the fish after I connected for tsaheylu.
He quickly begins to glide along the water after that. I fly low to the water behind him as I keep a tight hold to the saddle. Biting back my discomfort with each breath I take as we get closer to his village. I press my hand firmly against my side in hopes to keep a form of pressure on the wounds.
It didn't take long for his village to reach my line of sight. I sighed in relief as we steady got closer to the shoreline. He was on the sand waiting for me as Vayvi finally landed.
He tried to help me down, but I bare my fangs at him before getting down on my own. He gets a strange look in his eyes as he simply watches me almost struggle to get down.
"Tonowari, what is going on? Who is this that you brought back with you?" A woman comes walking out from a nearby hut as the rain slowly begins to get worse. Though she is unfazed as she softly glared at his 'Tonowari'. "Your hunting party came back without you to tell me you were coming back with someone from the forest."
Tonowari held up his hands in defense as he took a step towards her. "Ronal, calm down. We were about to come back from the storm when we had seen..." He stop for a moment before looking back at me. Seeming to realize he hadn't bothered to ask for my name when we met.
"(Y/n)."
He gave a small nod before looking back at Ronal. "(Y/n) land on some rock. I thought it would be best for us all to come back here before the storm reached its worse. Would you have preferred we left as (Y/n) suffered in the rain bleeding out?"
"I wasn't bleeding until you showed up." I send him my own glare as he tried to twist how the events played out. He looked between the two of us as he tried to find something to say to get himself out danger between the both of us.
Ronal simply scoffed as she gestured for us to follow her back inside the hut she had come from. I walk past Tonowari as I send him another glare before following after her.
Once I walk into the home area, Ronal is sitting on the ground with supplies ready to be used. I move to sit in front of her as she immediately begins to remove the bandages that I had one. Neither of us looking up as Tonowari also came through and sat nearby to watch the process.
I grunt slightly as her fingers move across my skin to assess how bad it was. Her face scrunching up in confusion as she looks intently at my stomach. "What has even made these wounds?"
"The demons call them 'bull its'. They tear through the body in seconds." I take in a sharp breath as she slowly begins to clean the skin. Grinding my teeth together to keep from cursing her out.
"You were in the war?" I glance at Tonowari as he looked surprised from the statement. I gave him a small nod as he leans a little closer in interest. "We have heard stories from those who have heard of it. Was it true that-"
"The wounds are not the same," Ronal bluntly cuts in as she rubs a balm along my skin with a concerned look in her eyes. "You have three in the front, but only two that show on your back. What happened to the third?"
"It hit the bone and got caught inside my body. We had to use knives and fingers to dig it out for the wounds to be treated the first time." I shudder when she begins to stitch up the areas where my skin had separated again
"Your wounds barely seem as if they had begun healing. Why would you be so stupid to travel in your condition?" Ronal's words were harsh, but I felt there was an underlying bit of curiosity of her own.
"I had nothing left tying me to the forest. I had to leave before I began to loose my mind thinking of everything the demons took from our people." I take a deep breath to relax my body as I wait for her to finish. Looking at the roof to focus on something so I wouldn't disrupt her movements.
Tonowari tilted his head as he heard my answer. Staring intently as he tried to make sense of what I said. "There must have been something that would have made you stay. A friend or family member that would miss you. I'm sure that you probably had a potential mate that would have wanted you to help rebuild your home."
I clench my fists at his words. Slowly looking down at the woven mats with a sad frown. "There was a girl that I did love in the clan. We promised ourselves to each other a few years ago. A demon came to learn and she taught him how to be one of the people. Before the war happened, she had... mated with him. I found out with the rest of the clan after it had happened."
Ronal stopped wrapping the plants she was using around my stomach. Glancing at me for a moment before returning to her work. Tonowari looked down with a sympathetic look in his eyes. Speaking lowly as he looks back up at us, "I am sorry that happened to you. It's a shame you both couldn't talk things over to form an understanding."
"I shut her down the first time she tried talking to me after it happened. I left before she could try it again." I stare at him with a serious expression as I shake my head. "The trust was broken, no matter what she might have said or offered. I doubt it could have been fixed."
None of us say anything else as Ronal finishes her work. Though it doesn't take long for her to stand up with a stiff nod. "Your wounds should be fine now. But you need to properly rest so this does not happen again. You will stay here until they are fully healed and I do not want to hear any arguing or whining of the matter."
I can't get a word in before she walks out, leaving me and Tonowari alone. I look at him with a confused look as I carefully ask, "Is she always that... blunt?"
He smiled as he stood up himself. Chuckling with a small nod of his head. "It is her way of showing her concern for your well-being. We will check on you soon so we can get you anything you might require. For now rest."
He leaves soon after to leave me alone once again. I take a moment to breathe before laying down to try and get a bit of rest. Focusing on the sound of the rain outside until I finally calmed down enough to let my mind rest with my body.
A couple weeks had passed since I had arrived at the Metkayina clan. Ronal had made a point to check my bandages practically every day, no matter where I was or who was around. But everyone seemed to be used to the behavior she was giving me after I told some others how I got the wounds.
Currently, I was stood on the beaches with a few of the women of the clan. Explaining how my bow worked and the proper ways of holding it and shooting an arrow. Not even breaking my train of thought when Ronal came to my side and began to do her assessment of my condition.
The conversation carried on for awhile until someone close by began to laugh obnoxiously. Everyone turned to see one of the males that was around my age standing nearby with a few others. Though his friends didn't seem impressed with his attitude.
"Is something wrong?" I politely ask as I turn my body towards him. Tilting my head as I readjust the grip I had on my bow.
He continued smirking as he shook his head in disbelief. Gesturing to my bow as he finally voices his thought, "It just doesn't seem like you actually know how to handle your own weapon. If you did, then you wouldn't have gotten injured by a demon's weapon."
Everyone went quiet when his words finally came out in the open. Ronal looked as if she was about to yell at him, but stopped when I let out a small laugh.
I kept my gaze on the man before gesturing my head to a few of the nearby trees the island had. Giving him my sweetest smile as I look him over. "How about I prove I can handle it? Go point at a spot on one of the trees and I guarantee I can hit it. If I miss, maybe you could help me learn how to handle it better."
Everyone seemed shocked by my words, the man most of all. But he quickly recover as he began to walk over to the trees with an even bigger smirk.
"What are you doing?" Ronal quietly asked as she watched me notch my arrow. A deep scowl on her face as she grabbed my arm.
I shrugged her arm off as I focused on the tree next to the Na'vi's head. Smiling to myself as I slowly lift my bow and pull the arrow back. "Humbling him."
Just as he was turning around to face us again, I released the string. The arrow hitting the tree just a few inches away from his face. He fell to the sand in terror as he looked over at me in shock. I simply smiled with a small shrug. "I missed."
"You almost shot me! What is wrong with you!? You could have shot my face!"
"I know. I was aiming for your throat." I start laughing at the shocked look on his face. The others soon joining in until he walks away in an embarrassed huff.
Ronal grabs my arm and begin dragging me from the group with a frown. "You ripped your stitches out."
I look down at my stomach to see a small trail of blood going down my skin. But I keep smiling as I follow along after her. "It was worth it though."
She gives a small hiss as we get to the healing pod. Pushing me to sit down as she grabs the supplies to redress my wounds. The both of us sitting sitting in silence until she let's out a whispered breath. "It was a good shot."
Another week had passed since the incident. Ronal and Tonowari had both been attentive for my healing process and made sure I didn't pop the stitches again.
I was sat in my temporary home as I began checking the few supplies I had left from the start of my trip. Mentally making an inventory of all the things I would need to ask for before I finally took off.
"What are you doing in here?" I look up as Ronal and Tonowari come walking in. Feeling surprised to see them after the community's dinner had finished just a small while ago.
I quickly set aside the bag I had as I turn to give them my full attention. "I was checking my supplies to see what I would need for when I leave."
"Leave?" Tonowari looks startled at the thought as Ronal scowled in response. Tonowari took a step forward as he moved his hands while trying to find his words. "Why... why would you leave? We thought you were enjoying your time here."
"I have enjoyed it here. More than I thought when I first arrived," I carefully reassure him while looking between the two of them. "I just thought I should be well enough in a few days to continue on with my travels. To move on and find a place to belong."
"You can't be that dense." Ronal snapped as she glared down at me. Tonowari tried reaching out to her, but she pushed him away. Taking a step forward, her voice raises with each word she says, "You have stayed here for weeks. We gave you shelter and food. I personally patched your wounds each time they broke open! Now you think you can just leave us because you suddenly feel like it!"
Tonowari and I stare Ronal in shock by her uncharacteristic outburst. I slowly stand up to take a cautious step towards the both of them. "I didn't think you would care. I am not of your people."
"What does that matter? You could stay here in the clan with us." Her voice cracks slightly as she continues looking at me. Her eyes tearing up the longer we stare in each other's eyes. "You can't just leave us."
My gaze softens as I realized the depth of her words. Her outburst covering her desperate plea for me to stay. Reaching out, I brush my fingers along her arms as I glanced at Tonowari. He took his own step closer to us as he gave his own nod to encourage me.
Focusing on Ronal again, I carefully cup her cheek. Taking a breath as I rest my forehead against her's. "I can stay with you both if you truly wish for me to."
Ronal gave a small sob as she moved her arms around my body to hold me close. Her lips softly pressing against mine before she rests her head against my shoulder. I softly rub her back as she continued to cry in my arm. Looking up to see Tonowari stop behind Ronal with a twinkle in his eyes. He leaned down enough to place his own kiss to my temple before he moved his arms to wrap around the both of us. No more words needed to be shared for us to understand what we were all agreeing to try in a relationship.
I hummed softly as I sat in the marui with Ronal as we waited for Tonowari return from the hunt. My hand rubbing her slightly enlarged stomach as I nuzzle my head in her neck.
"You are doing it again," Ronal softly chides as she continues working on the herbal mixture she needed. Though she didn't do anything to push my hand away.
I smile as I place a gently kiss to her neck. Inhaling her sweet scent while moving my hand to the bottom of her stomach. "I can't help it. You look so beautiful with our child inside you. Just as you did with Ao'nung and Tsireya. Absolutely beautiful, yawne."
"You and Tonowari have such a strange obsession over my pregnancies. I act no differently than I normally do."
"Oh, really?" I lean my head away to be able to get a look at her face. Keeping my hold on her with a knowing smirk. "If I remember correctly, you were very emotional during your first pregnancy. So much so, that you cried in my arms because you were scared of me leaving. And that was before we all knew that you were pregnant."
"Your memories are lying to you. You hit your head so often, I'm surprised you remember anything."
I smile at her bluntness, but decide not to say anything else. Instead, leaning back towards her as I begin to hum once again. But the sound of the horns going off causes both of us to stop all actions.
We wait for a small time before Ronal stands up to head outside. I quickly get up and follow behind her to see what had come to our home. The moment we get outside and get a look, my heart begins to pound.
Tonowari was stood in the center of the group as he conversed with a group of Na'vi from the forest. Even from a distance, I could tell that it was Jake and Neytiri along with what I could assume to be their own family. I take a deep breath before moving to join Tonowari with Ronal.
The moment we joined in at the center, I could see the recognition in both of their eyes. I gave them a small nod in acknowledgement before focusing on my mates. Though not quite catching all the words as all my mental strength went to not breaking down in front of everyone.
My attention perked up when I had heard Ronal say that we couldn't take them in. I placed my hand on her arm as I looked at her in confusion. She shook her head with a frown as she looked back at the group. I looked to Tonowari with pleading eyes to see he had a similar reaction. We both looked at Ronal until she met our gazes. Her determination faltered as she looked between the two of us before finally giving a small nod.
As Tonowari announced our choice to the group, I nuzzle my nose in her cheek with a weak sigh. Mumbling a small 'thank you' to her before pulling away. Smiling as Tonowari walks over to us before gesturing in the direction of our pod.
"(Y/n)." I look over to see Neytiri staring at me with furrowed brows.
I nod my head before lightly pushing my mates away with a forced grin. "I will catch up. Go and rest now. The both of you, Ronal." I wait until they both go away before turning back to face Neytiri with a serious expression. "It's good to see you again."
Her ears twitch slightly as she gives a small nod. A faint smile crossing her face in return. "I'm glad you are alright. You just left one day we had no idea if you were alive."
"I know," I sheepishly admit with a frown. Looking away for a moment as the memories come playing back in my mind. "I had to get away from there. I couldn't be in the forest anymore without thinking of the war. But..." The words catch in my throat for a moment. Taking a deep breath, I look back at her with a sorrowful look. "I should have still said goodbye. No matter how I felt about everything back then."
Neytiri seemed surprised by my admission, but she gives a hesitant nod. "I understand. And I should have said this long before you left, but... I am sorry for what happened."
My eyes begin to burn as I blink away the tears before they form. Giving a small nod while glancing at her children. "They will like it here. The clan will treat them as if they were born on these shores."
Neytiri smiles as she looked at them as well. A silent agreement falling between us over what had happened long ago as I finally walk away to go and rest with my family.
I let out a sigh as I walk through the doorway. Smiling as I see Tonowari and Ronal laying down with a small bit of space between them. Immediately walking over to rest myself next to Tonowari so Ronal had the space she wanted.
"How do you always know when she wants to have her own space?" Tonowari asked as he held me towards his side. Sending Ronal a glance before pressing a small kiss to her head. The action earning him a small hiss.
I chuckle as I move my arms to wrap around his neck. Resting my head on his shoulder as I look over at her. "It always depends. But whenever she's pregnant and wants to be held, she has an arm around one of our waists. I remember figuring out that one specifically right before Tsireya was born."
Ronal sends us a small glare before turning onto her side facing us. Her face relaxing when she closes her eyes. Even though she didn't want to be held, Ronal moved her leg to rest over Tonowari's.
I grin as I press my fingers to my lips before placing them on Ronal's arm. "See? She doesn't want us to leave her alone. She just wants affection on her own terms." Looking up at Tonowari, I give him a kiss on his lips before resting my head on his shoulder.
"Be quiet and rest already." I laugh softly at her annoyed tone, but close my eyes as well. Letting my body slowly relax in the presence of both of my mates.

Boys Don’t Cry
Tumblr media
Dad!Ao’nung x Sully!reader
IN WHICH Ao’nung cries for the first time in his life after the death of your son, but you’re here to help him through it.
Warnings: ANGST, death, grief of a son, our bby crying :(.
READ Fire Drill first to understand, this is Ao’nung’s side of the story.
Tumblr media
Ao’nung had never cried in his entire life, other than the moment where he had been stripped from his mother’s womb and into the lands of Pandora. He had always been a quiet baby, always the type to cause trouble that would make him laugh rather than wail.
Growing up in a strict household had only strengthened Ao’nung’s lack of emotional display  as he grew up, always feeling like the future Olo’eyktan should not shed any tears. He remembers the times where he would make fun of his more sensible friends for crying over the smallest things, making them feel small for being able to express their feelings. He thought that crying was something boys were not supposed to do, that they were supposed to appear strong for their families when bad things happened.
Sure he had been reprimanded by Ronal and Tonowari countless of times for his behaviour and recklessness, and he would often come back from hunts with a couple of gashes and wounds littering his skin, but never a single tear to graze his cheeks. He would grit his teeth until pressing down on them would hurt, trying to swallow back his pain so he didn’t cry.
His sister, Tsireya was very fragile of nature as she inherited their mother’s more hidden side. She was sensible to things around her, and she was never scared to show how she felt. Sometimes during their youth, Ao’nung would tease her and call her a crybaby whenever she’d cry about the smallest things, causing her to sob even harder and getting reprimanded by his father.
Soon you would get to know that the boy was emotionally constipated. It had taken it a while for you both to confess, yet alone for you to comprehend that he had feelings for you. Those same feelings that you had accidently revealed to him one night, and he was glad, because that had allowed him to act out on his own. Soon, your love had developed into more than just being mates and sharing a bond through tsaheylu. You had both created a baby through that said love, and Ao’nung was elated at the news.
He hadn’t cried when your son was born, unlike you that was spent and just happy that he was finally here. In some way, he felt prideful of not being soft-hearted like his family. He felt strong because to Ao’nung, boys don’t cry.
-
Ao’nung had never cried in his entire life, not when his son was born, not when he laid wailing excruciatingly in your tired arms. Crying does not always represent happiness or sadness, he didn’t need to cry to show that he felt joyful of the welcoming of your new baby. The warm smile on his face was enough to tell you that he was more than happy that his son was finally here, and he had vowed to himself on that day that he would be strong for the both of you.
Though when the humans and recoms came to claim your father in their death grip, he didn’t know what would happen. Ao’nung watched as you poured your heart out for the unfortunate death of the oldest Sully son, your brother Neteyam. His death gripped your heart like it had never been held before, crushing it in its cruel hold. His lips turned into a frown as he held you in his arms, your shoulders shaking as you trembled from the aftermath of your sobs.
The humans were cruel people, claiming what is not theirs and destroying whoever and whatever is in their way. He had sworn to himself on that day that he would kill every single one of them for making you suffer in such a way and that your tears would not be in vain. But as he watched as his forever home vanished in the midst of the flames, his heart could only pick up the place.
You were frozen beside him as you watched the marui that you both shared being engulfed by the fire. Ao’nung remembers not thinking straight as he gripped your arm in a tight grip as he dragged your frozen state into your home. He remembers the blood curdling screams that you let out as you cradled your deceased son, unpitied by the Great-Mother.
He couldn’t remember exactly when his eyes had started tearing up, the burning feeling of arriving tears rising in his throat. The sight of your mutilated son was more than what his heart could take, and soon the fresh tears began pouring down his cheeks freely. There wasn't much that he could let out, no more than 3 tears rolled down his grimy cheeks, but they were 3 too much.
His tattoos burnt his skin as he felt undeserving of them. The ones marking his arms up to his chin were the ones that he had acquired after passing his rights of passage, deeming him a strong and valuable adult, but how could a strong man fail to protect his own family? How could he have let his own son’s life slip out of his fingers when he knew that he could’ve protected him.
The guilt was overbearing, shifting him out of reality as he thought of the little amount of time that he had been able to spend with his son. It ate him up from in to out, leaving him feeling like an empty shell void of any emotions. The feeling of his mother’s warm palm over his arm was enough to snap him out of his derivative dreaming, the harsh sounds of your wailing reaching his tense ears. He was so distraught, pupils blown and without knowing where to look anymore.
He didn’t want to look at your poor son as he laid unmoving in your arms, but the guilt of not looking would soon catch up to him if he didn’t. Ronal’s hands cupped her son’s cheeks, ripping him out of his trance once more. He could make out a few distinct words that his mother was talking to him, but the ringing in his head was far too overwhelming for him to even concentrate. His lips wobbled and his ears were flat against his skull.
Ronal’s own distraught state was far too much for him to comprehend, so he gently peeled her hands off of him.
She had never fully accepted you like her own daughter, not even when you had publicly announced that you were mated to her son. But whether she liked it or not, you were family now just like your son was to her, and family doesn’t like seeing family suffer. She couldn’t even imagine the pain that you and  Ao’nung currently felt, as she placed a hand on her swelling stomach.
Later that night, things were dead silent in his family’s marui. He had come for a simple thing, and it was to fetch fish for you to eat tonight, because he needed to take care of you no matter how he felt. It didn’t matter if he felt emotionally destroyed, he had made it his duty to take care of you while you grieved.
Tsireya’s frown seemed permanent ever since the events had happened, not knowing how to comfort her usually stoic brother. She had never seen him like this, so distant and quiet because he was unable to express his own feelings, and it hurt her more than anything to see her only brother suffer in silence.
Hell, the silence of their marui was suffocating on its own. Tonowari couldn’t even approach his grieving son, because damn was he also emotionally constipated. He cursed himself for his inability of expressing himself freely, that if he wasn’t then maybe his son would’ve been confiding the thoughts that were bothering him so much to them. He knew that it weighed him down, so much that he could not even stand the pressure even if he sat on his knees.
Ronal’s guilt as she rethought of 2 years ago when she had agreed with Tonowari to let you seek Uturu
in their village. Maybe if she had been stronger and had strictly denied her mate, Ao’nung would be happy off with someone else right now. There would’ve never been a war upon the lands of Awa’atlu and her son would be smiling amongst his own little family. Though she knew it was wrong for her to think of this at such a time, because she knew that the love that Ao’nung held for you and your son is great, and he wouldn’t exchange the both of you for anything in this world.
For, she had a close connection to her children unlike anyone else on this planet did. A mother does tsaheylu right after birth with their babies, and the emotional bond that they share is like no other. She knows when her children are hurting, she can sense it, she can see it. Ronal can’t help herself but to treat Ao’nung as though he was the fragile kid that he had never been, but nothing seemed to break through that shell of his. Maybe, she believed that it was better off to let him sort out his feelings with you, that he would feel better to confine in you for now, that he would eventually open himself to them.
The violent images of his son’s scorched body and the vile smell of demise was still fresh in his mind, the events replaying like a broken video.
So they watch as Ao’nung walks away, a plate full of fish held tightly in his unrelenting grip. Ronal knew that there was always a light in darkness, he just needed to look through the right path, and she was sure that soon enough you both would.
-
When you awoke to the cold feeling of emptiness beside you, there was a nagging feeling that tugged at your chest. Despite that the pain of losing your son was still swirling raw in your chest, you knew that Ao’nung getting up before you meant that something was wrong. It wasn’t that you usually woke up late, no, further than that even. It was that Ao’nung usually waited for you to get up before starting his chores. Those were the little things that you had caught onto in your relationship, and it was damn time that they came in use.
You raised a hand to rub the grogginess out of your freshly opened eyes, fingers digging oddly pleasurably into your eyes. Then, when the grogginess had disappeared, you could see your husband’s back turned away from you. Ao’nung was cutting up a few fruits as he dropped the pieces into a large bowl before him, his ears were flattened upon his head and his tail laid flat against the material of your temporary marui. Given that the one where you previously lived on was now in shambles.
Plus the both of you wouldn’t have been able to live in the home in which your son had passed away in, it would always be a dark spot on your hearts.
Painfully, you stood up from your previous spot as you approached your husband. You kneeled down behind him and he visibly flinched when you brought a hand down to rest upon his shoulders. Though you didn’t take it to heart. Slowly by slowly, you began creeping your hands around his torso as though not to scare him and you embraced him warmly from the back. It was silent, but for once the silence was not comfortable. It was stuffy and suffocating, full of unsaid words that were waiting for clarity.
“I’m so sorry yawne, I never intended for things to be like this.” you excused yourself like any of this was your fault. Like the recoms following your father and unabling you from having a good life was any of your fault. Ao’nung was silent, more than he had been yesterday and your chest quivered as you started crying again. You were tired of it, tired of feeling like all you could do was cry for this nasty feeling of emptiness to leave your body.
You watched from the corners of your eyes as his lips wobbled at your words, despite the tears blurring your vision. Ao’nung turned his head away from you as he hid his vulnerability, and your heart ached at the sight of your husband. You didn’t want him to feel like he had to hide how he felt around you, or feel like he had to be embarrassed or scared that you would somewhat judge him if he came true to how he really felt.
“Hey,” you gently called out for him, unravelling your hands from his torso as you moved to sit in front of him. The dish of fruits was long forgotten as you moved it to the side to take its place. Ao’nung’s lips were sealed in a tight line and you could now see the tears that gathered in his eyes, unable to escape his waterline. You felt your heart drop down to your feet as it was only the second time that you had seen your mate cry, but now you were in a mental state where you could help him.
You took his face into your hands like his mother had done the past night, and it felt all too comforting to him. His cheeks burnt with discomfort but you were not about to let him cry his sorrows alone, you were his wife after all. Your thumbs ran soothing circles upon his cheeks as you waited for him to turn his head to you, leaving him the time to feel comfortable enough so that you wouldn’t have to force him upon it.
“It’s okay to feel gloomy after what's happened, you don’t have to hide yourself from me,” you whispered out the last part, your throat burning as you felt more tears rising up in your eyes. You blinked them away as they fell graceful down your darker skin. “I’m not going to judge you, I'm not going to tell anyone.” you pleaded through tears and soon enough he turned his face towards you.
You watched as he completely crumbled, his lips dropping impossibly further down into a bigger frown before he pushed himself further into your embrace, his arms wrapping around your waist as he hugged you. Ao’nung felt embarrassed when you didn’t berate him for crying, feeling ashamed that he even felt the need to hold back whitin your presence.
His face was buried in your neck as he sobbed his sorrows away, your arms intertwining behind his neck as you swayed him back and forth. He knew that you were loyal and that he trusted you with his entire life, he knew that you would keep your promise of zipping it. He felt so much relief as he sobbed into your arms, your body warm and close to him.
For, boys do cry, and so do men. Men who have lost their families, their homes, the ones that they loved. Men who are mature enough to understand that crying does not render you as weak, and soon Ao’nung would learn to open his heart to that thought. He felt safe sharing his burdens and sorrows to you, and you always listened to him with open ears just like he did with you.

description: Coming across each other by chance your relationship grew. Two lovers from completely difference species is bound to be widely known through a clan. Yet, it seems once family was kept in the dark.
Tumblr media
Ever since you were little it seemed that your mother repeated two story’s. One was your people’s origin. How you mermaids came to reside in pandora water. It seemed as if you had just popped out of no where but that was simply not the case. The humans, as sick as they are, decided to try a horrid experiment. After tormenting and poaching your mothers ancestors they took her away from her home, and out of the sea. Hell, they took her away from her own planet. Throwing hundreds of confused mermen and woman into a foreign waters. Wondering if you could breath the air and oceans of pandora. Much to their suprise your people thrived in the new environment. Your once ,seemingly useless, human like lungs allowed you to leave the ocean, your people exploring pandora with the blessing of your now useful temporary legs.
The second story she told was of the na’vi. The clan closest to you being the Metkayinas. How they were weary but grew to respect the foreign sea creatures. Allowing your people to thrive outside the reef. Yet, there are always conditions to peaceful agreements. The Metkayina never wanting the likes of your people washing in on their shore, keeping a safe distance from the unknown. She drilled rules into your brain, to never swim into the reef. Warning you of the possible dangers. Your people, were also afraid of the unknown, not wanting to try and mingle with the na’vi. You thought it was stupid to be held back by such fear. Two cultures avoiding the other as if they were a disease when you could be helping each other. Hell, why did you learn their tongue if you were not meant to interact!
Of course in your rebellious years you acted on your ideals. Traveling into the reef in the dead of the night. You were not quite sure what you were doing there. Your mind too clouded with adrenaline -from breaking a rule- and curiosity. You wanted to see these na’vi your family had kept you from your whole life. Allowing the waves to carry your body too the shore you washed up as if you were seaweed. Eyes scanning the foreign village as the waves lapped around your tail. The glimmer of your scales in the moonlight catching a particular na’vis eyes as he polished the ilu saddles. A curiosity that overwhelmed all of his doubts and fear as he approached your form. His blues eyes racking over your body in awe and curiosity.
“What are you.” Flinching, you turned your head to the sound. A gasp falling past your lips as you eyes the man in front of you. His body wide and tall, arms bigger than you had see, a thick tail attached to his end, and freckles that lit up in the night. Exited and naïve you casted your tail into legs. Jumping to greet the male you guessed was this apart of the species you had heard of your whole life. “I am y/n, a mermaid.” Slightly stepping back he eyed you with a suspicious gaze. A slight disgust plastered on his face as he looked down at your smaller form. Standing at only 7 feet the male towered over you. Ironic because your mother always told you story’s about how she towered over the humans.
“What is your name?” Cocking your head to the side you tried to counter his obvious distaste with a bright smile. Suspicion still across his face the male did not answers. Instead a big hand was placed on your shoulder. His warm hand squeezing your shoulder, his eyes not leaving where he had touched you. Confusion warping your featured you did the same. Placing a much smaller hand on his shoulder and copying his squeezes. “Is this how Metkayinas greet people?” Blue eye taking in your form once more the male finally spoke agains. His words only making a laugh pass your lips as his pupils seemed to widen.
“Holy shit I have got to be high.”
Tumblr media
Ever since that night you did not have a pleasure of seeing that na’vi. Your mother finding out about your antics and keeping a strict watch on you for weeks. Her suffocating control over you seeming to restrict your every movement. Thankfully, she now allowed you to travel on your own and you did not intend to journey back. Well, at least not anytime soon. The thoughts of the na’vi you conversed with that night never leaving your head. He was beautiful an attraction you had felt to none of your own kind pulling his every detail into your mind. You craved to see him, to just speak to him once more as you had done that night. Conversing about your cultures and life with the stranger you wished to know so much more about. The stranger who’s name you did not have the pleasure of knowing. Swimming among the coral of the deep you felt your heart pang with sadness, the knowledge that you might never see this na’vi again entering your mind.
Having enough of your sorrow filled mood you decide to breach the surface. Going to the place you called the ilu rock as there was always a good amount of ilus and their baby’s swimming around. A giggle breached your throat as a baby ilu swam up to you. The little thing was obviously curious as it nudged you with its head, beautiful sounds falling past its mouth. It’s mother not far behind with a call for it’s child. Swimming along side the baby you felt nothing but happiness as you pulled yourself onto the platform of the huge stone. The bottom of your tail still splashing in the water, playing with the young ilus. This time of year was always your favorite. There was always a ton of young ilu ear to play and explore in this season. The sun always perfectly warm on your skin as you sunbathed on the rock. The sounds of the animals putting you to sleep as if they were a lullaby. As your consciousness slipped from your fingers a familar blue flashed in your mind lulling you to sleep.
Although it seemed that as soon as you had shut your eyes they were being reopened again. A warm voice entering your years as you felt droplets of water cascade down your face. Groaning you brung your hand over your eyes. Your gaze hazy as it attempted to readjusted to the sunlights rays. “Hey sleepy head.” Mind identifying the voice your body shot up. Turning your torso to face the male as a bright smile lit up your face. “Beach boy!” Excitement running through your veins you launched yourself onto the male. You slim arms wrapping around his neck as a laugh fell past his lips. “Woah, didn’t know you would be so exited to see me.” Returning your hug the boys words left goosebumps on your neck. His breath tickling every area it touched. “I did not think I would ever see you again, um.” Voice coming to a stop you remembered you did not even know the males name. Pulling away from the embrace as your face was slightly scrunched up in thought. “Oh, my name is Ao’nung.”
“Ao’nu-nung.” Repeating his name you allowed the foreign word to travel past your lips. A smile reaching your face as you reappeared it. “Ao’nung!” Laughing at your struggle to say his name the male eyes never left your own. “You have never come back to the reef, why is that?” Now tapping into his own curiosity the male questioned you. A deep sigh leaving your lips your tail slapped the surface of the water in annoyance. “My mother, she has been watching me as if I am a criminal.” Ocean eyes following your tail he couldn’t seem to tear his eyes away. Amazed at the thing he had only seen twice. “hmm, well I could come to you if you want. Until she stops hounding you.” Heart beating against your chest you looked to the na’vi. A slight hue making it’s way onto your cheeks. “I would love that Ao’nung.” Blue eyes tearing away from your tail a smirk seemed to rest apon the na’vis face as he took in your shy smile.
“I have to, but i’ll see you here tomorrow? An hour after eclipse?” Nodding enthusiastic you agreed to the males time. “Let’s swim together? I can take you half way.” Smiling at your request the male motioned for you to follow him. A bright smile lighting up your face as you submerged yourself in the water. The both of you quickly understanding that you couldn’t not understand each other underwater. Your language seeming to be nothing but high pitch noises to the confused na’vi. While your eyes watched his hands with your eyebrows scrunched. None the less you enjoyed swimming with the male. Eyes admiring how his body pulled himself through the waves. Ridding the currents almost as smoothly as you. Of course, you had to show off as you would circle around his body. Ao’nungs face lighting up in amusement as he watched your form.
Sadly the trip had to come to an end. Waving goodbye to the boy that seemed run through your mind constantly. Swimming home with a warm feeling incasing you, even in the coldest parts of the ocean. Waiting impatiently for the eclipse to come and go so you could once again stare into those ocean eyes. Not knowing that this little meet ups would control most yours days. That your feelings would only grow. The months passing and Ao’nung becoming your world. Someone you would sacrifice everything for.. Even the approval and safety of your people. In life all you wanted was him and if you needed to keep secrets and hide yourself away to have him, that’s exactly what you were going to do.
Over the next couple months your meetups with the na’vi did indeed get more frequent. Your realtionship blossoming into something intimate over that time. In your world he would be your boyfriend in his world he was courting you. It felt amazing. Late night walks on the beach, Swimming along side him, gift crafted by his hands, the lovely feeling of his lips against yours. You could not seem to get enough of Ao’nung. Feelings a coldness in your heart each time you had to separate from the na’vi. Your soul yearning for his presence as the gruesomely long hours of your day dragged by. One day you just couldn’t wait any longer, slipping past your mothers watchful gaze earlier than usual, you had arrived at the reef just before eclipse. Not too worried about the reef people seeing you as most of the clan knew of your existence. Ao’nung not being as skilled at slipping away exposed your secret far too soon. Although the reef clan knew of your obvious relationship, you just couldn’t find the courage to tell the truth to your people. Afraid of your mothers reaction, she was very very conservative.
Being a mermaid on a mission, with thoughts of your mother clouding your brain, you did not even notice a small na’vi child until your body collided with hers. Tail curling to bring the child closer to your chest out of reflex. Eyes opening just to take in an appearance you were not at all prepared for. A surprised gasp slipping past your lips as the strange little girl stared at you with big yellow eyes. Her skin far darker than any of the Metkayinas you had seen, her body slender and smaller in your arms. “What the hell.” Speaking in your native toungue a suprised squeak passed the girls lips as she began flailing her limbs around. Breaking out of your hold as she swam to the surface. Breaching the top with her you couldn’t help but laugh, amused by the whole situation. “You are a mermaid! Norm use to read me books about you!” Blue hands grasping your face the little girl cupped it almost in disbelief. Having to reassure herself that you were real. “I thought you guys were fake.”
“I can assure you I am very much real.” Lifting your tail too splash besides the dark girl a giggle breached her lips. Her smile reaching from ear to ear. “What is your name?” Almost as if on cue a loud voice filled the area. Calling out the girls name as they searched for her. “Tuk! Where are you!?” Head wipping around to the direction of the sound a soft sigh left the girls lips. “You must go, I will see you around Tuk.” Waving a goodby to the girl you detached yourself from her touch. A small smile adoring your lips as you watched the girl, an expression adoring her face as if she had seen something magical. Your glimmering tail disappearing under the water as another na’vi rounded the corner. “Tuk! There you are. Come out the water, why did you not respond to my calls.” Swimming to her older sister with a smile plastered on her face the little girl ignored her questioning. Pulling herself up onto the woven paths of the metkayina clan. “I made friends with a mermaid!” Looking at her with a deadpanned looked kiri couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “you have gone crazy.”
Little did Kiri know that her little sister was indeed telling the truth. Your form now on the other side of the beach greeting an all too exited Ao’nung. His big hands fixing a loincloth around your lower half to keep you decent in the eye of his people. “It’s crazy your people make woman cover their chest yet thinks it’s completely normal to not wear anything on the bottom when you shift.” Playful huffing at a comment he had made many times you rolled your eyes. Lovingly ruffling his hair as he finished the final knot in your side. Rising to his feet so that he towered over you once again. “What’s crazy is you didn’t tell me about these new na’vi on your shores.” Fingers tracing up his abs you looked into his blue eyes. Questioning him silently in attempt to get the latest news out of him. A heaft sigh left the makes lips as he took your hand in his. Guiding you to walk along side him on the beach. “those skxáwng are just some freaks. Nothing to talk about really.”
“Ao’nung!” Scolding him you lightly hit his arm. Knowing it did nothing to the male did not stop your from scolding him. Stoping im his tracks his blue eyes burned into yours. A slight frown etched into his face. “They are just some na’vi from the forest, they will be gone soon enough. Now let me have my time with you before Roxto and Tsireya steal you away.” Successfully changing the topic of conversation Ao’nung snatched you up by your thighs. Your legs latching around his body as your arms enter locked behind his neck. A joyful giggle falling past your lips as he dug his head into your neck. “Don’t want them freaks even knowing of your existence.” Mumbling into your neck Ao’nung did not give you anytime for protest. Placing light kisses all all the way down to your chest.
“Not to be a cock block but me and y/n have a herb picking date schedule.” The familiar voice of Tsireya filled your ears. Your hand lightly pushing away Ao’nungs head, a smile reaching your lips. Grip losing on you Ao’nung allowed you to hop down. A groan leaving his lips as he turned to his sibling. “We can finish what we started later big guy.” Sending him a playful wink you skipped to his sister. “I’m coming along tanhí.” Not letting you escape far Ao’nungs forearm rested apon your shoulders. A familiar smirk playing at his lips as he looked down at you. “Just don’t distract her the whole time like last time.” Pointing an acusing finger at her older brother you couldn’t help but laugh at her serious face. “It’s okay i’ll be sure to pay attention!”

“I swear I saw a mermaid!” Voice shrill and defensive Tuks entered into the mauri grabbing the attention of all her siblings. Kiri dragging Tuktirey by her hand through the entrance. Neteyams brow raising as he eyed his sisters with a questioning look. Lo’ak already turning his body towards the girls with a teasing smile crossing his face. “I think Norm read someone a little too much human fantasy books.”
“Lo’ak you are not helping!” Scolding her brother Kiri rolled her eyes. Tuks fury now finding a new target. “I know what I saw Lo’ak! There’s was a mermaid, why don’t any of you believe me?! I saw her, she’s in the water!” Deciding to interview Neteyam crouched down to his sisters height. Tucking a stray braid behind her ear he gave her a soft smile. “how about we all go searching with you tomorrow? Let us see the mermaid with our own eyes?” Face lighting up Tuk nodded her head immediately. Jumping into her big brothers arms. “Than i’ll show both you meanies!” Sticking her tongue out to her two older siblings the two just shrugged. Kiri and Lo’ak sharing a look.
“Bro I have plans with Tsireya tomorrow!”
“Okay than let’s make it a group search during lessons. Solves everyone’s problem.” Countering Lo’aks excuse to get out of the small adventure Lo’ak groaned. “You all will see! I did see a mermaid!”
Tumblr media
“What are we doing out here” tone obviously un please Ao’nung eyed the sullys with an annoyed look. “Don’t do a mood killer already bro, we don’t even know why they wanted us here.” Trying to lighten up his friends mood Rotxo slightly pushed his friends arm. A smile on the bundle of joys lips. “Yeah fish lips.” Taunting the Metkayina Lo’ak joined in, despite the fact he did not want to be here either. Finally joining the group Tuks small frame ran over. A smile from ear to ear. “Who’s ready for mermaid searching!” Stomach dropping Ao’nung shot Rotxo a look out the side of his eyes. The male doing the same, shocked that the small girl knew of your existence. “Yeah… Tuk thinks there some kind of half fish human in these water.”
“She has a wild imagination.” Speaking first Ao’nung made sure his voice was loud. Silently telling Rotxo and Tsireya to not say a word about you. His eyes lingering on them as he scanned the group. “Let’s get this over with.” Sighing deeply Kiri dove into the water. The others following her lead as Tuk was practically leaping with joy. Exited to find her mermaid friend. Breaking the group into buddies , Tuktirey stayed with her eldest brother. While you were on your way to the reefs, as oblivious as ever, not even thinking of the possibility of the small blue girl leading a search party for you. Your form joyfully swimming through the reef, looking for your lover. Overrun by joy that you could slip away early for two days in a row.
Your glimmering tail seeming to be only a bolt of colors as you swam through the sea. The glint of the sun finding your scales sending a glare into Tuks eyes. Her small hand tugging at her brother as she pointed at your speeding form. But, by the time Neteyam had turned his head you were long gone. Sending his younger sister a confused look a worry started to set in his features. A worry for his sister sanity. Her insistently saying she has seen the mermaid swimming towards where she had caught a glance of your tail. “That’s is near the edge of the reef you could have seen anything Tuk.” Trying to reason with his sister Neteyam held her back. Eventually forcing the girl to turn around and head closer to the shore. While your form only strayed fathers from their locations. Locating the na’vi you were in such a rush for.
“Ao’nung!” Sending a high pitch screech through the water you immediately caught the na’vis attentions. His body whipping around just in time to embrace your form crashing into him. His hair undone as his curls flowed freely in the water. Moving with the motion of the waves above you. A smirk settling on his face as he squeezed you into him. A shudder running through Ao’nungs spine as your tail collided with his legs. He would never get use to the feelings of your scales. Pointing to the surface he motioned for the two of you to go to the top. Knowing you were not yet fluent in their sign language. Breaching the top you comfortable treaded water, the smile that always seemed to decorate your face present as always. “Missed me?”
“Always” Pressing his lips against your you could feel the smile on his face. Your stomach doing flips as he hands slid down to your waist caressing the start of your scales. “Oh, hey y/n! We were fake looking for you just now.” Floating belly up Rotxo interrupted the intimate moment his floating form bumping into your back. Rolling your eyes at your friends antics you splashed him from behind, causing the friendly na’vi to choke on ocean water. His peaceful floating interrupted while a bubbly laugh left your lips. “What the heck man!” Waving his offense off you questions the Rotxo earlier words. “What do you mean fake looking for me?” Looking between the two males Ao’nung wore a deep frown as he looked at his friend. Roxto shrugging unapologetically for a quick moment before his hands resumed their treading. “Nothing just the stupid Sullys always prying too much”
“Ah, so the little Tuk girl.” Your boyfriend letting out an unhappy groan answered your question without words. A playful smile making it’s way onto your lips. Your hand teasingly pinching his cheeks. “You afraid her interest in me will take my time away from you.” Rolling his eyes the sassy male didn’t answer your question. Engulfing his seemingly giant hand over your frailer one. “Whatever let’s go to the hot springs.” Giggling at his childishness you only nodded. Bidding goodbye to Roxto who had already began floating again. Making sure to splash water into the males mouth once more before hurrying alongside Ao’nung. The large male wasting not time to pull you into the forest on his island. His signature mischievous smirk plastered on his lips. Ao’nung once sour mood slipping away with the breeze passing over your body’s.
🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
“What is all this fuss about?!” Entering his mauri Jake sullys voice filled the once rambunctious space with a deadly silence. A teary eyed Tuk surrounded by her sibling who seemed to be attempting to reason with the young girl. As always Neteyam was the first to speak a deep sigh leaving his body before he spoke. “Tuk is insisting she saw a….mermaid. We are only trying to help her stop these meaningless searches. It could lead her to outside the reef.” Taking in his sons words Jakes mood seemed to calm. His face now morphed into confusion as he looked at his youngest daughter. Neytiri sharing a similar look as she rested a hand on the back of her husband back. “Is everything ok Tuktuk?” Voice soft Neytiri spoke with her comforting mom voice. Walking past her older children to scoop her youngest up in her arms.
“I saw a mermaid! You guys don’t believe me either I can tell by your face!” Frowning Neytiri stroked one of her daughter stray hand behind her ear. “It is normal to have imaginary friends as a child. But it is important to not get it mixed up with reality.” Huffing the small girl wiggled out of her mothers arms. Obviously filled with frustration as she crossed her arms and glared accusingly at her family. Catching them all slightly off guard, as Tuk was always a gentle and happy girl never once sending someone the expression they wore now. Frowning deeply Neytiri looked to her mate. Almost as if communicating with his eyes he only nodded at the mother. “Would you like to talk with the Tsahik about this she might know more about this,,,, mermaid.” Face lighting up Tuk squealed and excitement, happy someone believed her words. Wasting no time to rush out the mauri her small feet taking her towards ronals tent as Neytiri followed behind her, shooting her family a relieved smile that they all shared. All of them hoping the Tsahik could cure whatever was happening with their youngest sibling.
Soon enough Neytiri opened the flap, Ronals back being the first view that met her sun colored eyes. The fierce ocean orbs soon greeting her as she looked between the female and her child with worry. The two woman forming a small friendship in the month the sullys had been on their shores. “My child has been saying she has sighted a mermaid, even talked to her.” Sighing with worry Neytiri usher her child towards the Tsahik. Ronals brows scrunched together in confusion as she glanced between the two. Her face quickly turning into a grin as she attempted to suppress a laugh. Confused, Neytiris eyes narrowed not likening the way Ronal seemingly laughed at her daughter. “I am sorry, I should not find this so humorous.” Cover her smile with theee fingers ronal sat on the floor. Continuing to arrange herbs. “Your daughter is perfectly fine.”
“What do you mean she’s seeing a mermaid. They are fake.” Stomping her feet Tuk looked up to her mother. “They are real!” Warning her daughter with her eyes Neytiri sat herself across from Ronal. Forcing Tuk to sit next to her. “I am afraid your daughter is right. My son is in fact the reason this mermaid visits our shores. The two of them being infatuated with eachother.” Eyes widened in shock Neytiri scanned the woman. Sensing the caution in her friends eyes ronal looked up from her medicine. “How about I show your whole family tomorrow before eclipse she is always on the south of the island. I can prove my crazy words.”
“Of course Tsahik. I am sorry to say I can to believe your words until I see it.” Nodding in understanding Ronal sent the two a rare soft smile. “Now would you two want to help me with these herbs.” Knowing they could not refuse Neytiri excepted. Successfully killings tuk victorious mood as she looked at her mother with a deadpan look. Not wanting to have anything to do with the medications in front of her.

The two of you had no ideas so many eyes were on your as you breached the water. Your tail morphing into flesh as the peeping eyes cringes at the sight. It was not a pretty transformation to watch but Ao’nung never minded. His warm hands fulfilling their routine as he tied your loincloth around your lower half. Deciding to not be a creep Lo’ak was the first to step out. The parents all gone once they saw you, their curiosity satisfied. “She’s literally a human with a cool tail and can breath underwater. What’s so special about her.” Making his presence known Lo’ak trotted over. His siblings not far from his as Neteyam groaned in dissatisfaction. Tuks small form rushing past her brother as she crashed into your lower body. Her slim arms wrapping around your waist as Ao’nung suppressed an annoyed growl.
“Hello Tuk.” Patting her head you looked to the other na’vi approaching. All much taller than you. “How rude of me, I am y/n Ao’nungs girl.” Catching all of their attention their yellow eyes zeroed in on you. Yet it did not seem to stop the aggressive tone leaving one of their lips. “Oh so you shit on us but claim this four fingered freak.” Motioning to your hands you felt your stomach drop. Your warm eyes looking to Ao’nung in hurt and confusion. “Watch your mouth forest boy.” Bearing his fangs Ao’nung threatened the darker na’vi. His thick tail whipping in an aggression your eyes had never seen. Gently prying the child’s hand off your waist you wrapped your hands around Ao’nungs arm. Pressing his arm on your chest grabbing the towering males attension. “Calm down it’s okay.”
“Listen to her words Lo’ak!” Pulling his brother behind his form you assumed this was the older brother. His presence oozing superiority. “I am sorry about my brothers behavior. I am Neteyam, that was Lo’ak, and my sister Kiri is back near the mauri pods.” Face lighting up as his kindness you looked to Ao’nung. The male still not wearing a pleased smile. “It is wonderful to meet you! Your little sister is just adorable.” Smiling at the compliment the littler girl stood proudly next to you. “Yes she’s actually why we learned of your existence. We did not believe something like your could exist.”
“We’ll she does. Glad you forest freaks could satisfy your curiosity and admire my girlfriend like she’s an animal.” Hitting his shoulder you glared your at your boyfriend. “Ao’nung! I am sorry, he is just worked up because of your brother. He is a big softie.”
“She’s delusional.” Looking down to your form Ao’nung shut down your words. A slight smile ghosting over his lips as he looked down at your scolding face. “Anyways, I will definitely see you Sullys around! Swim with us sometime!” Dragging your hotheaded boyfriend away you waved at the oldest Sully. Making sure to give Tuk an extra long wave as the girl bounced up and down. “You are horrible.” Ocean eyes widening he looked down into your warm ones. “What do you mean! Lo’ak is the dickhead.” Rolling your eyes at your boyfriends blindness you let go of his arms. Walking slightly faster than him.
“Come on baby don’t be like that.”
“Your such a bully.”
Grabbing your waisted Ao’nung pulled your flush agaisnt him. Leaning down so his head was by your ear, breath leaving goosebumps along your skin. “I’m your bully.” grazing his fangs over the sensitive part on your neck you couldn’t help but lean into his touch. “Just don’t be gatekeeping me.” Looking up the top of your head hit the lower part of his chest. Rising to his full height the male looked down to you. “Cant promise anything tanhí.” Bringing his lips to your you could only smile into the kiss. Loving the way his big hands secured themselves around you. The na’vi never wanting you to leave his grasp. Wanting to keep his little mermaid all to himself.

I will not be writing about anything consisting of excrement (Feces, Urine, ect.) It makes me uncomfortable but if you're into that, I direct no hate whatsoever. I'm not one to kink shame, but I won't go out of my comfort zone for any writing piece in this context.
I will only write for adult characters, this includes aged up characters. I refuse to sexualise minors and I will never dare to, as stated in the first bullet point, you will be blocked if the request is not made anonymously.
I won't do outrageous age gaps as well (54 and 18 for example) although it may be the case in some realistic scenarios, it's just a tad too much, I hope my readers understand why I've made this rule. I will do age gaps just not to this extent.
MINORS DO NOT INTERACT. I'm unable to control what you view online but I have set warnings for all mature content that will take place on this account, if you do happen to dismiss these warnings and traumatise yourself, then I hope it was worth it. Minors will be blocked if they interact with my work.
I'll write for any character in the franchise, as long as they're of age and if not they will be aged up as stated, Oc's are allowed, you just need to give me a detailed description of your character. I will try my best to refrain from the usage of 'Y/n' but it will most likely be used at some point.(Pictures will also be appreciated, it'll help with inspiration when writing for Oc's)
And now for the bullet you've all been waiting for, the large list of kinks and scenarios I will cater to ;) : spitting, choking, age play, bdms, degradation, praise, rough sex, passionate 'love making', blowjobs, pussy eating, face sitting, 6ty-9ing, ruts, heat, daddy/name calling/nicknames, threesomes, abrasion, bondage, blindfolds, cuckolding, public sex, voyeurism, breath play, gagging, humiliation, impact play, katoptronophilia, quirofilia, Conception, breeding, roleplay, hair pulling, wax play. (There are probably more I'll do but this is all I can think of on the spot)
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────.──── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
I do hope that I'll have a few suggestions soon, I'm eager to write for the avatar sluts out there again, if you have any questions please do reach out!!

I can be a better father | Part 3 (Falling in love)
Tumblr media
Pair: Tsu'tey x Grow up y/n x Grow up spider
Warning: none, cute moments.
Note: Here is the third part <3, there were a few requests that were very similar. So I put them all together to make this oneshot. They were literally the same, they just changed a few things. I took the things I liked the most from them. I hope you like it.
Requests: "Here" (Here are screenshots of requests)
Avatar masterlist | Part 1, Part 2 , Part 3
Tumblr media
Roxto was excited, after spending the whole day swimming near the reefs. In search of a type of seaweed, which only grew in a specific area. He felt tired, but proud of his work. His basket was full of that special seaweed. He was on his way to your marui. Which was located in the depths of one of the islands.
When jake had to make the decision to leave with his family from the omaticaya clan, he also decided that it was best for tsu'tey and his children to come with them as well. After all, they were his family too. Y/N was still his daughter and he was pretty sure that Quaritch would be behind them. It was difficult to convince tsu'tey, but after much talk and two nights of thought. Tsu'tey agreed, and left with the sully's and their children. It was painful for him, his land, his clan…everything he had to leave. But it was the best for the family, the best for you and spider. Thanks to eywa, ronal and tonowari accepted that everyone stayed, at the beginning it was hard for everyone. And more for you and spider, you were humans living in a new environment. But you all settled in very quickly, and so the years went by. Everyone in the family grew up and matured in the new clan. You were already part of it. Tsu'tey made their new home in the depths of one of the islands. The island was right next to where the large group of maruis were located. He wanted to feel the same as his previous home. So he was lucky to find a place with lots of vegetation.
Roxto moved closer to where your marui was, looking around carefully. Examining who was inside. He didn't want to meet tsu'tey, he was a serious man and looked intimidating. A great warrior. But he was relieved when he saw the small figure of Y/N, walking back and forth in the marui. The boy approached, giving a few hops. "Y/N?!!!" shouts rotxo, coming a little closer. You were setting up at home, cleaning up your place. "Hi…what are you doing here?" you speak, walking over to greet the boy. "I came to bring you something, it's a surprise" rotxo says, sitting down on the floor. You drop one of the baskets, and walk over to where rotxo is sitting. Sitting down next to him, crossing your hands.
"Look…this is for you" says rotxo placing the basket full of seaweed in front of you. Your hands quickly run to your head, screaming a little excitedly. "No…. no way!!!" you are so excited, you had been looking for this type of seaweed, for many months and nothing. "How did you know I was looking for this?" you ask him, looking and touching the seaweed. "I heard you talking to neteyam that you needed this seaweed for a…mmmm a tea" rotxo says, seeing how you were so fascinated. "Thank you…. really thank you so much. Would you like some tea?" you look at rotxo, who had a big smile on his face. "Sure…I'd love some" says rotxo, seeing how you ran up and grabbed the basket.
You had to clean the seaweed, and prepare it. Months ago Ronal had told you and Kiri. About a seaweed, that helped with healing and emotional well being. It could help with some illnesses. You always wanted to find it, but it only grew in certain seasons. Rotxo just sat there, looking carefully at everything around him. Without a doubt, your marui was different from everyone else. He knew that in it, lived you and your father and your brother spider. In some corner he could see a kind of box, which he supposed was the weird box you had once told him that produced the oxygen for you to breathe. On the other side there were many special bows and arrows hanging on the wall. And several hammocks hung, one bigger than the others. Several large baskets, and the area where the food was prepared. Then his gaze went to where you were sitting, preparing tea. You looked so beautiful…you turned a little and gave him a smile. Rotxo changed his look, he was blushing.
After a couple of minutes, you approached him. You were holding cups of tea, "You will like it a lot!!!" you say, you were doing a little dance, while handing him the drink. Roxto accepts the drink, and watches as you sit down next to him again. He sniffs a little of the drink he was holding, and then brings it to his lips. After the first sip, he closes his eyes and enjoys the taste. On the other hand, you were looking at him very attentively. "And? how do you feel? Do you feel different?" you ask him, touching his shoulder. Rotxo's tail, wagging fast, always had that effect on him. He would get nervous, every time he had any kind of contact with you. He is quiet for a moment, looking into your eyes. Making eye contact with you. "So?" you speak, softly. "He's a little… "rotxo tries to move a little. But the moment was interrupted when you both heard a loud noise.
Tsu'tey and spider had come in from fishing, spider dropped the bag. While tsu'tey looked at the young men in front of him. "Hello" says tsu'tey dryly, looking carefully at rotxo. The boy tensed, getting up from the ground. Turning away from you, you settle further into your seat. You already knew the drama scene your father was going to make, rolling your eyes. "Hi dad…look roxto brought us a present" you pick up the basket full of seaweed, showing it to your dad. He laughs a little but reluctantly. The tension can be felt all over the marui, rotxo says goodbye to everyone and quickly leaves the house. "Wait rotxo" you try to stop him, but the boy waves goodbye from afar. "Goodbye rotxo!!!" you raise your voice, but you see how the boy practically runs away you couldn't do anything. You let out a big sigh, as you get up from the ground to go to spider, taking the basket full of fish.
"Did we interrupt something?" asks spider, in a mocking tone. You push your brother a little, as you walk past your father. He had his eyes glued to you. "Yes…I want to know what that boy was doing here? And why were you alone?" asks tsu'tey, you try not to make eye contact with your father. "Rotxo came to bring this seaweed, which I wanted so much. That's all…and I was kind enough to make him some tea. That's all" you speak, while you had already started cleaning the fish. Spider sits next to you helping you prepare dinner. No one else talked about it, tsu'tey knew how to respect his children's decisions. But he was worried about you, if there was one thing you were like your biological father, it was your stubbornness. If you were going to do something, you were going to do it and prove that you were the best.
And so a whole week went by. Tsu'tey knew that something was happening to his girl, she was busier and finished her chores quickly to go to she knows where. That same morning, she left the marui quickly. She said a quick goodbye. "Papa…I'm going to go help neytiri" you speak, taking your things. Tsu'tey gave spider a worried look. "Do you know what's wrong with your sister?" spider just rolls his shoulders up. "No…I don't know anything. Maybe she just wants to spend time with neytiri" spider does his best to sound the least bit disiterested. Spider did know what you were going to do, and where you were going to go. But you had sworn to him not to say anything to anyone. You arrive at the marui, where only jake and neytiri were. "Hello!!!" you speak, you looked so happy.
"Hey honey…what are you doing here so early?" asks Jake. After so many years, you two finally had a good relationship. "I come to ask you a favor…little one" you speak, approaching neytiri's side. Sitting down next to her. "Let's see…what do you want" neytiri gives you a look. You try to contain your laughter, you watch as jake taps you on the knee. "Come on…what's up?" jake speaks. You laugh a little. "Rotxo invited me for a walk…and " you laugh, you were all giggles. "And?" asks neytiri. "You know how dad is…and I really want to go for a walk with him" you speak. "Tsu'tey is right…you shouldn't" jake is interrupted, when neytiri punches him in the arm. "It's okay….go, I promise I won't tell him anything" neytiri says, you get up from the floor and give him a hug. Neytiri laughs, a little and hugs you back.
Neytiri had kept her eyes on you, for all these years. Caring for you and supporting you in every way she could. At times like this, you reminded her so much of her sister. Sylwanin used to sneak out at night to go see tsu'tey. Neytiri had to cover for her, she also remembers that face Y/N had at this time. She had the face of a lover. Neytiri sees how y/n goes to the area where kiri had her clothes. Taking what could fit her, she looked so tender. "I will tell tsu'tey that y/n…" jake is again interrupted by neytiri. "You will say nothing" neytiri orders. Jake throws up his arms, surrendering. After some time, a figure approaches at the edge of the doorway. "Hello," speaks rotxo. You turn quickly, to get up from the ground. "Rotxo!!!" you speak, reaching over to take his hand. This action makes jake look at neytiri, open-mouthed. "Watch out!!!" neytiri says, as you both walk away. You were holding rotxo's hand tightly.
"Where are you going to take me?" you ask rotxo, both of you were walking. You were taking some shells that you could find on the way. While the boy was looking at you with so much admiration. "mmm can we go to the other side of the beach? There the sea is quite calm there" says rotxo, with a calm voice. You reach over and take his hand. "Sounds great to me…and look. These shells are good for some beads" you speak up, rotxo just laughs and approves of your comment. "You've got check-in time, or you're all mine for the rest of the afternoon" rotxo says, teasing you. You nudge him, playing with him. "skxáwng!!! but yes, I can be with you all afternoon" you hug roxto's arm.
"I think we should tell tsu'tey" jake says. "We won't tell him anything" neytiri places her hand on her partner's mouth. Jake could be a bit intense at times. The couple was so caught up in discussing what they shouldn't say, that they didn't notice that tsu'tey had come to their marui. The man stood listening to it all in silence. "Y/N shouldn't go off like that with that boy…if tsu'tey knows," speaks jake. "What do you have to tell me?" asks tsu'tey, making both na'vi turn to look at him. There was an awful silence. "I want you both to tell me where Y/N is" Tsu'tey was getting nervous.
You settled your knees in the sand more, combing out a piece of Rotxo's curly hair. The boy had never been one to put ornaments in his hair, but you had convinced him. You were humming, while he was touching his toes. It was a peaceful moment, you both felt comfortable together. "We should get something to eat," Rotxo says, and you give him a hug behind his back. "What would you like to eat?" you ask him, pouting. "mmm you tell me" rotxo laughs, when you slip a little down the side of his arms. Rotxo brings his hand to the back of your neck, stroking his thumb over your soft skin. "I love you…very much" Rotxo speaks, your eyes widen. "I love you very very much too" you speak, giving rotxo's arm a squeeze. You two had created a very strong bond, you could say romantic. Rotxo was a wonderful guy, always making you feel good. Always worried about you. On the quiet, you had created your own relationship. No one knew…to the public they were just friends. But in private, their relationship was taking giant steps.
In the meantime, two people were watching the young couple. Tsu'tey and neytiri were watching the boys from afar, hidden in the bushes. Tsu'tey felt that his heart wanted to come out, he was experiencing so many emotions together. Her little baby girl, there flirting with a boy. A young metcayina, he felt like he was going to vomit. But he was doing his best to hide it. Meanwhile neytiri, observing the situation, found it curious but adorable. "Is that…why is she there?" says tsu'tey while giving her friend a look. "She's with her friend" says neytiri, looking credulously at tsu'tey. She had to hold back her laughter, because the look on tsu'tey's face this moment was hilarious.
"This scene looks very similar to me," says neytiri. tsu'tey's ears perk up, and he looks at his friend curiously. "What?" asks tsu'tey. "It reminds me so much of how you and Sylwanin were. So silly and in love" says neytiri, tsu'tey pouts. "nonono…but we are talking about my child" says tsu'tey. Neytiri gets up from the floor, giving her friend's shoulder a squeeze. "She has to grow up" neytiri says goodbye and leaves tsu'tey alone spying on his daughter. He turns to look at his daughter, who was sitting next to that boy, laughing. She looked happy. Tsu'tey gives a sigh of surrender, sitting down on the sand. He had to understand that you were growing up, that this had to happen someday. The man stands up, taking another look at the scene. He chuckles to himself…neytiri was right.

──────⊱⁜⊰──────
You knew something was wrong when Aonung didn’t have that stupid cocky grin always plastered to his face, no taunting gleam in those bright eyes, no entitled comments rolling from his mouth like it was his birthright (which in some ways it was, but you’d never admit that).
He had stumbled into the healing marui you occupied when helping Ronal out as Tsakarem, completely oblivious to you seated on the floor, crushing some herbs in the cool shade from the entrance. You frowned first, fully intending on asking him what he was doing bothering you right now when he knows full well his mother isn’t in here, before it occurs to you that he mustn’t know you’re in here either.
Usually, he spots you with that piercing gaze reserved only for you, just so he can come over to make some snarky comment or boast about his latest accomplishment you hardly pay attention to. Which makes it extremely odd he hadn’t noticed you in your pretty obvious spot on the floor, staring at him with confused annoyance as he rifles carelessly through the boxes and storage of herbs you had just organised.
“Can I help you,” you ask with a sigh. You were well used to Aonung’s entitled take on life, but this was a whole new level of brazen cockiness to storm into your healing marui and make a complete mess.
But to your surprise, Aonung flinches back, apparently actually not having realised you were right in front of him, face twisted in a slight grimace, which he tries to hide with a scowl.
“Yes, actually,” he grunts, teeth grinding slightly as he straightens up. You notice the muscles in his neck tighten as he winces again. “Where is all your stupid healing shit?”
“In this marui..?” you point out, getting increasingly confused, and now slightly unnerved. “You need to be more specific. What do you need help w-”
“I don’t need help,” Aonung says tensely through gritted teeth, and your frown deepens. “Just- where is all your stuff?”
He gives an irritated flick of his hand as he turns towards you, accidentally knocking over a box of herbs you collected this morning, all of them spilling and mingling out of their neat selections onto the woven floor.
This is how it usually was with Aonung. Since the two of you became betrothed, you had tried to make reason with him, but by this point you had resigned yourself to the fact that your future mate was a complete and utter skxawng. Trying your best to fight down the pained, annoyed shout you were longing to berate him with, you take a deep breath and lightly tug at his arm.
“Sit, Aonung,” you sigh, leading him to the floor. When he impatiently tries to tug himself free, you tighten your grip and give him a stern look.
“Do you know who I-”
“Yes I am very aware who you are Aonung,” you roll your eyes, pushing down on his head to try and get him to sit, to no avail given his ridiculous size. “But this is my marui where I heal, so no matter who your parents are or if you’re going to lead in the future, I won’t be tolerating bumbling skxawngs with anger issues breaking my stuff.”
Aonung huffs in disbelief and you’re sure he’s about to make some comment that one day you’ll share as mates, blah blah blah, but finally to your surprise, he obliges and sits cross-legged on your woven mat for your patients, and you sigh with relief.
“That wasn’t so hard, was it?” you say, patting his head like a good little boy and kneeling in front of him. “Now what’s wrong.”
“Nothing,” he grumbles, not meeting your gaze and scowling.
“Right,” you raise your brows. “So I guess I’ll just let you sulk on my floor then.”
“Perfect, I don’t need you bothering your pretty little he- HEY!”
You suck in a sharp gasp, ignoring Aonung’s indignance that you distracted him to try and discern the issue, and his ears flatten back against his head. Half of his side, stretching painfully from his waist and up along his ribcage is scraped with the unmistakable barb of the outer-reef coral, and there’s a deep bite mark in the flesh of his left arm. Instantly, your gaze flicks up to Aonung, to find him already watching your face closely.
“You went hunting outside the reef alone? Again?”
“Eywa,” Aonung says sullenly. “I’m not a little boy, I can take care of myself.”
“Clearly not,” you whisper, eyes raking once more over the scrapes. “Otherwise you wouldn’t be here.”
“I didn’t know you were in here,” Aonung hisses, teeth gritted once more. “If I knew you’d be here and bothering me, I never would have come. I can just as easily leave-”
“No!” you say quickly, grabbing his arm to keep him still. “I’m sorry. Just let me help you.”
Aonung blinks, the words he’d been about to utter dying on his tongue at your offer, before his gaze flicks down to his arm held in your gentle, smaller hands. Instantly, for fear of being yelled at for touching the precious prince, your fingers loosen, and your hand drops away, face flushing.
“I just mean,” you correct, clearing your throat and cursing the blush on your cheeks, “that it wouldn’t be right of me to let you leave like this, particularly with you being… who you are. Just… please stay still Aonung.”
To your surprise, he blinks back, still looking a little disorientated which you quickly write off as a side effect of his injury. With a small sigh of relief and a shy, encouraging smile, you stand up and gather some herbs and ointments, mashing them in a large round shell before kneeling back in front of him.
“This may sting a little,” you say gently, placing a steadying hand on his shoulder to get a good look at his injuries. All he returns is a curt nod, muscles tense under your fingers as your face peers around his body.
It’s a tedious process, wiping and dabbing the scrapes with a cool damp cloth, tentatively smearing the paste over them before blowing lightly on it. Despite all your determined efforts to be overwhelmingly gentle – you are weary of the fit he might throw if you accidentally hurt him – Aonung doesn’t complain or wince or hardly even bat an eye, and you’re ever grateful for it.
However, it is a tense ordeal. Every light brush of your fingers against his warm muscled body makes his jaw clench. Every infinitesimal flex of your hand on his shoulder as you lean and shift to treat him makes the muscles in his neck strain somewhat, as though he’s fighting the urge to break away from you. Every cool breath of yours fanning across his skin has his eyes narrowing and widening in a laboured almost-panic.
You’re almost scared to speak (though you don’t know what you would say), terrified to break this strained, stretched silence, but also very aware of every movement, noise, and flinch in said quiet. You settle on finally speaking; at least that way you aren’t flinching every time you accidentally brush against him.
“Are you okay?” you ask quietly. “Is this not-”
“It’s fine,” Aonung says tersely, cutting you off with blunt coldness, and you feel yourself wincing inwardly at how stupid you sound right now.
“Right,” you mutter under your breath, aspirating the t and rolling your eyes. You duck your head back down and continue in your work, praying to Eywa he doesn’t notice the flush of your cheeks as you heal him.
Finally, his side is finished, and you take his arm in your hands to study it. It must be an akula bite, given the sheer terrifying size of it, and as you slowly dab the injury, Aonung finally cracks, letting a tiny wince and an almost silent hiss escape from his stony façade.
“Sorry,” you mumble, but Aonung just shakes his head, grits his teeth, and you continue.
Its obvious this wound is deep, excruciating even, but Aonung stares straight ahead throughout your dabbing and smearing and blowing until you can finally wrap a bandage around it and clear your stuff away. You pour him a cup of soothing tea as he waits somewhat patiently for you to address him, maybe even dismiss him. His newfound obedience is strange, and you find yourself smiling at the sight of him sitting cross-legged and grouchy like a little boy who scraped his knee.
“You should stop hunting alone outside the reef,” you say quietly, back turned to him as you rinse out the paste and blood sodden cloth. “I don’t want you getting hurt again.”
Aonung is silent for a moment and you highly suspect he’s rolling his eyes or maybe even preparing himself for yet another entitled monologue on his great status and disregard for authority and yada yada yada, but strangely, you feel him shift behind you with an amused, “Yes ma’am.”
“I’m serious,” you huff, chucking the towel down and turning to glare at him. The amused look on his face slides off at the evident concern on your face, and you sigh. “You have to stop getting injured, Aonung.”
He blinks in surprise, before reaching out to tug you closer. He’s strong enough – even with his injury – to pull you alone, but you find yourself obliging and coming to sit beside him.
“Well, I’m lucky to have you to fix me up,” he comments, smirking slightly and tucking your hair back.
“Not if you keep acting like an absolute skxawng every time I try and help you,” you counter, but you don’t pull away. Instead, you still, letting Aonung’s hand tucking away your hair fall gently to stroke your cheek fondly.
“I’m sorry syulang,” he whispers, a small furrow forming between his brows. “I didn’t mean to worry you.”
“I wasn’t,” you lie. “You were bothering me.”
Aonung laughs lightly, but as his face trails nearer to yours, you still don’t pull away.
“Is that so?” he asks, face inches from yours. You don’t answer. It’s only when his lips are practically breaths away from brushing against your own when you pull back and frown at him.
“Heal first skxawng,” you grin at his offended, shocked expression. “Then we’ll see what happens.”

summary: After your family seeks Uturu with the Metkayina, you find yourself getting closer to the free-diver named Rotxo.
a/n: I somewhat used the way Rotxo's actor described him while writing. Also, to whoever requested this one shot I'd like to apologize if this isn't how you imagined it. I struggled thinking about what he would do to embarrass himself since his character is rather mature to me.
The first thing you noticed after getting off your Ikran was the way the sand felt in between your toes. It was soft like the moss in the forest, not as rough as the bark lining the trees you once jumped around on and warm from the sun beaming down on it.
As your father and mother started moving their way towards the Metkayinas you worked on untying a basket from your Ikran. As you perched it against your hip, Kiri made her way over to you and grabbed your hand.
Despite her hardened face, you could tell she was scared so you gave her hand a small squeeze before moving behind your brothers. The steady increase of Na’vi surrounding your family had you stepping closer to your mother’s back, pulling Kiri in closer in the process.
You weren’t a fan of the heavy gazes from each clan member as they assess you and your family. Two boys around your age made their way through the crowd and walked around Neteyam and Lo’ak.
Their laughter filled the air as they pointed at their tails. Your family’s autonomy was odd and unfamiliar as theirs’ was to you. Wide ribs and arms with a tail that was flat along the sides without any hair. You couldn’t help but study the closest boy to you.
His short hair fuzzed up on his head as he stood next to the taller boy with a braided bun. You found yourself intrigued by the light blue color of their skin and the strips that wrapped around their body. Strips that you noted almost looked like waves in a way.
“Do not, Rotxo. Ao’nung.” The sudden new voice pulled you from your thoughts, only to see the boy you were looking at holding your gaze. Heat rushed to your cheeks and you were quick to look away. He was pretty.
You stayed close to your mother as the Olo’eyktan, Tonowari, and Tsahik, Ronal, made their way towards you. After you gave your greetings, Tonowari began speaking. “Why do you come to us, Jakesully?”
“We seek Uturu.” Ronal was quick to interject. “Uturu?” She eyed her mate with a disbelieving look. “A sanctuary for my family.”
“We are reef people.” As Tonowari spoke, you watched Ronal look over your family. You remember your father telling you the story of when he first met Grandmother…you wonder if this was how he felt.
“Their arms are thin.” Ronal stated while observing Tuk. You suddenly felt a sharp pull on your tail, causing a small yelp to leave your mouth. Out of instinct you pulled back and your hold on your basket slipped which caused the contents to spill on the ground.
The Tsahik eyed you then the flowers and plants that scattered the sand. Quickly, you dropped to the ground. “I’m so sorry, Tsahik.” Tonowari could see his mate falter for a second before turning towards Kiri while continuing.
“You will be slow in the water.” Her large hands grasped around Kiri’s small wrists and yanked them up. “These children aren’t even true Na’vi.” You saw her feet step around you and the remaining fauna on the ground towards Lo’ak. “They have demon blood!”
Your collecting was halted and you glanced down at your hands. Four fingers…not three. As your father gained the attention back on him, Neteyam appeared next to you and quickly packed the rest of the flowers in as gently as he could before helping you back up.
“I was born of the sky people and now I am Na’vi. You can adapt. We will adapt.” It took some time but the Tsahik finally agreed. The Uturu was granted and after the Olo’eyktan stated his children would help with the learning, you slowly stepped forward.
“Tsahik?” Your voice was low and you dipped your head when she gazed down at you as you extended the basket you held. “I did not want to come empty handed. The basket holds flowers, leaves, stones, and vines that I thought would be a good ‘thank you’ gift.”
You shifted from foot to foot and inhaled deeply, trying to keep your voice steady before looking up at her. “The ones I picked out where the ones I found are easy to make clothing from. They are also very pretty.”
It felt like eternity before the warrior took the basket for you. “I apologize for the quantity. It started off full but we had encountered a storm whilst traveling and many fell into the sea.” A low hum fell past her lips before she perched the basket on her hip and turned around.
A long breath left your lungs as she walked away and you looked to your father and mother with a large smile.
-
Rotxo was the first to notice your absence from the group and looked around. He asked the others where you had gone and after getting a confused response from Ao’nung about who you were and an alarmed one from the brothers and Tsireya he decided to back track.
His eyes scanned the coral for any signs of you until he finally spotted you hovering around a patch of coral. One hand full of different shells that had caught your eye while the other shifted the plants around in search of more.
He remembered from yesterday that you offered materials to make clothing and came to the conclusion that you had gotten distracted by the new materials to work with. And he was right.
While you had initially started with following everyone, your attention got grabbed by the different shells you saw scattered around the ocean floor and coral. You couldn’t help but start collecting which ultimately led to you getting left behind.
As you gathered more in your hand Rotxo watched how your hair floated around your head and the difference from your dark blue skin to the light of the ocean. He couldn’t lie to himself and say he wasn’t intrigued with you because he was.
He was pulled away from his thoughts when he suddenly saw you drop the shells and push your way towards the surface. You got so distracted by the new material that you didn’t realize you were running out of air until your chest started burning.
Out of sheer panic you launched to the surface but hadn’t realized how far down you were. Your heart smashed against your ribs and you desperately clawed your way to the surface until you suddenly felt large arms wrap around your waist.
As you finally got air in your lungs once more, your hands were firm on the shoulders of the one who saved you. “It’s okay. You’re okay.” The soft voice caused your ears to flick as you opened your eyes to see Rotxo. He had saved you.
After a few seconds of looking into his light eyes you couldn’t help but start laughing, causing your head to fall back. “I can’t believe I almost drowned because I got distracted by shells!” You said in between laughs and large breaths.
Rotxo loosened his hold on your waist to allow you to move slightly away although you still kept a hand on his shoulder. He smiled at you with a soft chuckle and as you calmed down you looked back at him with a large grin.
“Thank you for saving me. Though this is rather embarrassing.” He shook his head. The smile on his face did not falter as he responded. “No need to be embarrassed. The coral is rather beautiful.”
You nodded with his statement as you floated further from his grasp, your eyes looking down at the water trying to find the shells you dropped. Rotxo heard a small hum pass your lips as you did. “Maybe I should get a small basket to collect?”
The boy smiled as he watched you squint your eyes to see past the moving water. “Perhaps we should save the shell hunting for later? You still have much to learn.” In an instant your eyes snapped back to him while going wide.
“Oh, Great Mother! I’m so sorry.” As you started slowly swimming towards the rest of the group, Rotxo followed with a laugh.
-
You were quick to notice that Rotxo brought peace and understanding to the group. No matter how many times you or your siblings got something wrong he never had an ill word to say or a scoff to release.
He never said a mean word or sent a side glance after the initial meeting of your family. He was as gentle as the waves you found yourself laying in while looking up at the sky.
It had been almost a month since you first came to Awa’atlu and you spent the majority of the time with the boy learning their ways and with each passing day you found yourself thinking about the Metkayina.
As if Eywa heard your thoughts, the boy that took over your mind made his way over your floating body. His face created shade from the sun that heated your body and the water below. “Rotxo.”
You said with a large smile while standing up, your legs still knee-deep in the water. He matched your expression while holding his hands behind his back. “What are you doing here?” You said while tilting your head. “And what’s behind your back?”
The boy shifted his weight as his cheeks began heating up. His once light blue cheeks tinted a deep teal while he spoke. “I–” He cleared his throat. “I have a gift for you.” The words came out fast with nerves at your unwavering eye contact.
“For me?” Rotxo met your eyes once more with a small nod before shifting his hands around and pulling a free one in front of him. “Give me your hand?” His question was hesitant, not wanting to make you uncomfortable and without a second thought you raised your hand with the palm facing up.
The action caused the boy to smile more. Ever so softly, the boy’s free hand cupped the underside of yours. His skin was soft, oh so soft. Yet strong. You couldn’t help your fingers twitching around his hand as he did it.
“You’ve been working very hard and have improved a great deal since you first came here and I wanted to celebrate your passing of retrieving the shell.” He watched as your grin grew tenfold over the praise.
He knew you had been nervous about diving for a long time after your slip up the first time in the water and after hearing you passed from Tiserya he wanted to get something for you. You watched as he pulled a filled sack from behind his back and placed it in the palm of your hand.
“While you did your test with Tiserya I swam around and gathered seashells I thought you would like. I wasn’t quite sure which would be good for weaving so I picked up an–” His words were cut off when you launched into his arms.
The sack locked firm in your hand as you wrapped your arms around his neck. “Oh Rotxo, thank you!” With your chest pressed together, both were able to feel how fast your hearts were beating at the contact.
His large hands encased your waist and back as he pulled you closer. Unfortunately, the moment was cut short when your ears picked up laughing from the shore. “Oh look, Rotxo and the freak are gonna kiss.”
As the two of you separated, you saw that the boys were the ones that hung around Ao’nung. They were mean and cruel. They were not like Rotxo. The boy looked over at you with a solemn expression at the use of "freak" before grabbing hold of your hand and making his way back to the shore.
Away from the boys. “Aw don’t leave.” One said while they jogged over. “Yeah, it’s not everyday one of our own starts courting a demon.” You tightened your hold on Rotxo’s hand as he quickly tried getting the two of you away.
Rotxo was kind. Gentle. Perhaps too much in fact when it came to other people. He didn’t wish to pick sides, he wished to get you away. However, he knew the wish was too easy as you got harshly yanked back.
“Look at her fingers.” The sudden pull of your hand caused the bag of shells you held to tumble into the sand. “Leave us alone.” Rotxo softly said while you pulled your hand away with a small hiss. “Why? What if we want to hang out with her as well?”
The boys laughed as they started circling around the two of you. Rotxo puffed his chest out as he stepped in front of you. “Let us pass.” This time, the boy’s words held a bit of bite that masked his uneasiness.
The one that shared a similar hairstyle, yet unkempt, to Rotxo scoffed. “Or what?”
“Or I’ll make us pass.” His words shook as they came out, causing the boys to laugh. With the small distraction, Rotxo quickly spun around and used his tail to slap the leg of the boy out from under him but grabbing your hand again and running.
You two didn’t get far, however, when one of the others tackled Rotxo, sending the two of them into the ground. You watched as Rotxo struggled under the boy's grip with a bleeding nose before you jumped on his back with a hiss.
Using all your strength you rolled over and kicked his back when he was on top of you, sending him into the ground behind you. You were quick to scramble up and take Rotxo’s hand.
“Quickly, Rotxo!” Not expecting the strength you possessed resulted in him falling back into the sand after getting pulled by you. After a few seconds he managed to get his footing once more and the two of you took off in the direction of your family’s Marui.
-
You and Rotxo sat in silence as you tended to his nose. After reaching your Marui and seeing it empty you decided to aid him. His eyes were downcast and his ears flat. “Rotxo, what is it?” You finally asked after you finished cleaning his nose. “I’m just sorry. I suppose. Embarrassed maybe?” He said in a soft voice. His eyes not moving from the floor.
“I tried standing up for you and it ended with us on the floor. Tried being like Ao’nung. You even lost your shells because of me.” You leaned forward and softly grabbed his hand. “Rotxo, it was not your fault.”
He let out a heavy sigh. “I should’ve fought them to protect you. I should hav–”
“No.” You were quick to cut him off. “No, you did everything right. Mindless violence breeds more mindless violence. There is nothing to be sorry or embarrassed about.”
You brought your other hand up and cupped his cheek so his eyes would meet yours. "You handled the situation the way you felt comfortable with. Not like Ao'nung, but like you."
His large eyes stared into yours which resulted in your heart to pick up. In the blink of an eye your lips gently pressed against his for a few seconds before you pulled away; your hand dropping away in the process.
Rotxo’s cheeks darkened as his wide eyes stared at you, but this time you were the one with the downcast eyes. Too afraid to see his reaction. Silence filled the air for a moment before he softly said your name.
When you met his eyes once more he whispered. “I See you.” A large smile graced your lips as you instantly replied. "I See you."

wash day (tsireya x fem! metkayina reader)
contents: you and tsireya are gfs, you braid her hair, jealous reader, kissing, intimate date, flirting, wlw cuteness, tsireya oneshot, very short story <33
wrd count: 1047 words
̩͙✧ ₊˚𖦹
tsireya’s hair was always gorgeous. always put together, always smelling like the beach. perfect.
but that was only thanks to her mom and brother. she always hated doing her hair on her own.
but today, both ao’nung and ronal were busy. so she went to find her girlfriend to help her. tsireya’s usually long, softy, curly hair was neat and put together but today it looked like..
like she was struck by lightning.
so she woke up earlier than everyone and washed her hair like normal. even with her soaps and mixtures, it still looked like a bird's nest.
once it was ready enough, she went to y/n’s marui and quickly made her presence known by calling her name.
you could hear y/n getting up and yawning while walking to the entrance.
“reya! what are you- OH!” she jumped at tsireya’s unfortunate hair once she opened the curtain. in their year and a half of dating, she’s never seen her like this.
“oh! my.. what did you do to your hair? it’s all.. how is sitting up like that?” she asked.
tsireya sighed. “i can’t do my own hair, can you help me please?”
“sure. let me get a couple things.. wow, did you cut your hair with a pincer?” y/n continued.
“y/n!”
“okay! okay, i’m sorry-“ she chuckled. y/n gathered a couple of her products into a bag and carried it with her as the couple found a spot to sit on at the beach.
y/n sat atop a boulder as tsireya sat down on the sand so it was easier.
“i don’t know how you’ve gonna so long without doing your own hair.” y/n said as she gently began to comb through tsireya’s hair.
“i know. my mom or brother have always done it for me, and they never have a problem. well, ao’nung sometimes does..”
“so make him do it.” y/n chuckled. tsireya rolls her eyes.
she winced sharply before whining. “ow! don’t rip my hair out!”
“i’m sorry! sorry, your hair is super tangled. i’m gonna put some of this cream i made..” y/n muttered.
she gently dragged her hands over tsireya’s scalp with a cooling cream she made with ronal’s guidance.
tsireya sighed out while watching the ocean rock softly against the shore.
“what would you like your hair to smell like? fruits orr..”
“oh! kiri gave me this uhm.. what was it called.. a serum! it smells like a scent that sky people use.”. tsireya was referring to coconut.
“oh! kiri gave it to you. interesting..” y/n picks up the tiny bottle.
“yeah.. kiri brought it over from her human friends in the forest. it smells really good!” she smiled.
“oh.. so you like how kiri smells. maybe you can ask her to do your hair next time.” y/n said, flipping open the top of the bottle.
“come on! don’t be like that. kiri’s just my friend.” tsireya laughed.
“sure! a friend you think smells so good!” she responded in a mocking tone.
“y/n.” tsireya turns her head to look up at her jealous girlfriend.
“i’m just kidding. anyway, kiri couldn’t stand a chance.” y/n leans down and kisses tsireya’s lips.
tsireya blushed and puts her head down again.
y/n puts the serum into tsireya’s roots, but just a bit as it was an oil and she didn’t want her hair to get super greasy.
she then began the braiding process. hours and hours passed and y/n was only able to do two rows by herself.
“shit, my back.” y/n groaned as she tried stretching out her arms and back.
“who taught you to say that?” tsireya asked curiously.
“lo’ak. hm.. we might need help. or i can just do half of your hair braided and the back half down.” y/n said, holding tsireya’s head to look at how the hairstyle would look.
“so.. like normal?” she muttered.
“…yes.” y/n mumbled. there was a beat of silence.
“yay! i’d love that.” tsireya smiled brightly.
“okay! this will be much easier.” y/n nodded.
she finished braiding the front half of tsireya’s head and left the back of her hair hang down normally.
an hour before the sun began to set, the girls finally finished up after adding a bit more scents and accessories to tsireya’s hair.
“okay.. all done!” y/n picks up her mirror and held it in front of tsireya so she could see.
tsireya gasps and looks at her new appearance. “aw, y/n..”
“do you like it?” she asks.
“are you kidding? i love it! and you did the braids so well!” tsireya said, wanting to run her hand over her head but worried she’d mess it up.
tsireya smiled and stood up too quickly, causing her to get jelly legs.
she helps as she falls into y/n’s arms and the girls giggle as they try to stand up straight.
once they actually stood, they held onto each other's arms to support themselves.
“we should have taken a break at one point.” y/n chuckled
“yeah, i forgot. i was having fun talking to you.” tsireya laughed.
y/n smiled. she took tsireya’s hand and they stumbled across the sand to go back to tsireya’s marui to show her mom her new hair.
on the way there, kiri crossed their paths.
“hi, tsireya. hi, y/n.” she smiled.
“hi kiri!” tsireya responded. y/n tried so hard not to glare at her but she gave a weak smile and nodded, “hi, kiri.”
“wow, your hair looks beautiful. who did it?” kiri said to tsireya, gently holding one of her braids. y/n then glared at her for even thinking of touching her girlfriend.
“oh uh-“
“i did it.” y/n said proudly. “nice! you look very pretty.” she smiled.
“see you guys later.” kiri waved and walked away.
tsireya reluctantly glanced up at y/n. “you look so pretty! ugh, next time she looks at you, i’ll feed her to the ilu.” she grumbled.
“y/n! she was just being nice!” tsireya argued quietly so kiri wouldn’t hear.
“no, she was flirting.” she said, looking back at kiri.
“whatever, it doesn’t matter. cause i love you.” tsireya kisses y/n’s cheek and holds her hand before they continue down the woven pathways.

Neteyam falling desperately in love with a metkayina girl that is already promised to someone but he doesn't know until he confesses to her 💔 how about that? Have a great day love ~
All The Stars
Tumblr media
Neteyam x Metkayina!reader
IN WHICH you are Tonowari and Ronal’s eldest daughter, and no matter how much you and Neteyam love each other, you will always belong to another.
Warnings: ANGST, ao’nung being ao’nung, misunderstandings, loveless betrothals.
THANK YOU FOR 1K FOLLOWERS, means so much to me🫀
Tumblr media
Neteyam couldn’t exactly recall when he had fallen so desperately in love with you. He did know that he was infatuated with you ever since he and his family had set foot in Awa’atlu. You were the eldest daughter of both clan leaders, Tonowari and Ronal, so you shared more common traits than you could imagine. You were both just young adults that were overwhelmed with duties and kids who could only wish to fit into their parents expectations.
Your brother had been the biggest jerk towards the omatikaya family at first, but you and your sister had both been their guardian angels. You just loved to scold your little brother for acting so badly towards the poor family that just seeked safety and peace.
Even though you would be nice to the family, Neteyam couldn’t help but notice how you would stay away from them when it wasn’t time to train them. He thought that maybe you were just busy with your duties, but in reality it was way more than that.
You just had to get away from the eldest Sully son, because you hated the way his luminescent freckles and warm yellow eyes made your stomach flutter. You just couldn’t allow yourself to fall in love with the omaticaya man, because you were already promised to another man. It was your duty to lead your people after the fall of your parents, and your mother had chosen the most suitable Metkayina man for your betrothal.
Sayko was one of the strongest hunters among many, he wore his own Akula tooth proudly on his necklace, much like your brother. He was tall and well built, given his many years of hard training. Though he was an attractive man, you just did not feel any love towards him. You told yourself that maybe you were incapable of liking him because you were forced into a future relationship with him, but you knew that it was not that.
The loveless feeling was reciprocated on both sides of the promise, but Sayko was a very competitive and possessive man, and what was his was his. It didn’t matter if he didn’t feel any sort of romantic feelings for you, if any other na’vi tried to sweep you off your feet, he would always be there to remind you who you were promised to.
Now that Neteyam had arrived and had practically swooped you off your feet, it was hard for you to explain to the man how you were already taken. Soon enough, you had begun meeting Neteyam in the midst of Eclipse as you both rode your ilus towards a new destination everyday. He couldn’t deny the feelings that you brought out of him, how your doe-like aqua eyes made him feel things that he believes he shouldn’t.
You had to physically refrain yourself from telling your little sister about your infatuation, squealing like a little girl as you recalled everything that you both had done. You knew that if any of this got out and through the ears of your mother, she would probably restrict you from seeing the boy, in any way that she could. So you continued to meet in the middle of the night, and tonight, he had told you that he had something special to tell you about.
You were excited, nevertheless also anxious. Because this meant that tonight would have to be the night that you come clean to him about your betrothal, and you feared what his reaction would be.
You had not even arrived by the sandbank when something had ‘attacked’ you. The figure wrapped their skinny arms around your waist, stuffing their face into the dip of your neck. You laughed loudly at that point, already knowing who it was. Though you brought a hand to your mouth in an attempt to cover up your laughter, because you were supposed to be sneaking out right now, not informing the whole village of it.
“Must we go?” he told you, digging his face deeper into the crevice of your neck. His warm breath fanned over your neck as he stayed there for a second, his arms still wrapped around you. Your ears flicked back at his affection, feeling like a swarm of butterflies were flying through your stomach. Cross that, a whole group of Akulas were, because butterflies were not enough to describe the effect that the Sully boy had on you.
At times you felt undeserving of his attention, because you had found yourself falling hard for the boy. You feared what your mother would tell you if you revealed those feelings to her, because Ronal was no easy woman. She would probably tell you to suck it up for the sake of the clan that you would then have to guide alongside Sayko, that your feelings for the boy were temporary.
It didn’t help the fact that she completely despised Neteyam’s family with her whole heart. She hated them for being descendants of a demon and the trouble that followed their tails constantly. Though she had lumped it because of your father, it didn’t mean that she had accepted them with open arms into her home.
“You good?” he questioned when you didn’t respond, too busy overthinking the issue in your head. You smiled at his concern, thanking Eywa for having gifted you such a man. God, you would fight tooth and nail anyone that even dared to try and take him from you. You turned around in his arms, making them fall off from your waist to join the side of his body.
His gaze on you felt overwhelming, stuffing you with emotions that you could not even describe. He looked like an angel, hand-moulded and assembled by the hands of Eywa herself in nirvana. The soft breeze made his braids sway as his beads clanged together. His warm yellow eyes were like pools of honey and they held much more emotions than he could express.
You moved your finned-hand to grip onto his bigger one, dragging them between the both of you. You watched as his ears raised at your touch, swiftly dropping back down as he was embarrassed of getting caught being so enamoured by you.
“How about you get running, forest boy.” he had not even had the time to process your words inside of his brain before you had set off running towards the forest. His eyes widened once he had caught on to your little game, a cocky smile making its way onto his face as he watched you disappear through the many bushes.
-
“What’s up fish girl, too slow on land?” Neteyam yelled from before you, running backwards as he faced you. He was about an impressive distance in front of you, but that was the props of being a jungle boy. You were fast in water and he was fast on land. Though that was an obvious verity, he couldn’t help but tease you for it.
The forest here in Awa’atlu was nothing like back home for Neteyam. The trees were smidgen and the branches were comparably thinner than the ones back in the rainforest. The trees were taller and fuller at home, bushes full and lands covered in moist moss. Though it was the closest that he had to his birth land, and that would do for now.
You, on the other hand, were struggling a bit to catch up to him. Through the many plants that kept hitting relentlessly against your skin and the rocky path, there was little that you could do to catch up to him. He didn’t even seem to falter at each obstacle that would present itself before the both of you, but that didn’t mean that you didn’t put on a good show either.
You dropped both of your hands down on your knees once you arrived, bending over to catch your breath. You wondered how the forest na’vis did this every single day, and you could sweat your ass off at the mere thought. The sound of his soft chuckle was what had got you looking up, only to meet his amused gaze.
He raised an eyebrow bone at your struggling and you could only roll your eyes at his teasing. Your breath stuck in your lungs as you viewed the scenery before the both of you. If the previous part of the forest that you were both running through had reminded Neteyam of his home, then this definitely made him feel at home.
The bioluminescent vines enveloped the place with a soft multicoloured gleam which reflected perfectly off of his skin. He looked so adorable as he stared longingly at the nature between you both, making a surge of feelings rush in your stomach.
“Did you even know where you were going?” you breathed out a laugh as the boy shook his head no.
“I was only running away from you, because you ran oh so fast.” he laughed at your struggle earlier, and you broke out in another eye roll. Though you couldn’t help but laugh with him, because you had already made fun of him for being slow in the water. God, he really needed swimming classes because you were sure that an akula would get his ass square and fair if he ever breached the reef.
Neteyam picked up the pace as he started investigating the place, and you could only stay back and watch him with curiosity filled eyes. You watched as he picked up stones, observing them like he knew some sort of hidden meaning behind them. But rocks were just rocks, and he was just a curious kid. You had to bring a hand up to your mouth to stifle a giggle as you watched him throw a flat rock onto the land before him, imitating a ricochet.
He looked so carefree that you didn’t have it in you to bother him in his curious time. Though somewhere at the complete back of your mind, you could hear the faint sounds of a clock ticking, getting closer and closer the more time went. It was a foreign sound to you, for, you had never heard such ticking until now, and you pushed away the obnoxious feeling at the back of your thoughts.
Neteyam started moving again, exploring parts of the Awa’atlu forest that he had never seen before. His footsteps led him behind big bushes, or even behind the old trunk of an aged tree.
Suddenly he stopped before you, and there was something else then curiosity that filled his eyes. There was something deeper than just interest, there was love. A love that he had failed to express to you from the day he had known that his heart was beating for you and you only. It swirled in his eyes like no other feeling, and Neteyam could only wish that you saw through him like a piece of clear glass.
“Listen, Y/N I-,” he cut himself off, suddenly feeling self-conscious under your stare. He knew that you had no expectations of him, that you appreciated him for who he really was, but there was always this nagging feeling at the back of his head that told him that he wasn’t enough. He wasn’t enough for the chief’s daughter and no matter how much he tried to prove it, he would never be.
You raised your eyebrow at him as he hesitated with his words, the clock ticking to no ends. You were both running out of time without even knowing it, the final sand grains falling from the hourglass that tied the both of you together. The sky had now fully darkened, leaving space for the bank of stars to shine light onto your land.
The sky was clear and full of them, painting space like a beautiful art piece. Though, through the millions of tiny stars that illuminated the night skies of Pandora, there was one star that shone brighter than all others. It captivated you like no other, making your eyes strain away from Neteyam for longer than you would’ve liked them to.
Once you felt his palm resting on your cheek, your gaze had immediately turnt back towards him. The upside down smile present on your face made him aware of your shyness, and the closing of your eyes could only solidify his observation. His thumb ran comforting circles upon your cheek, making you lean lovingly into his palm. His actions spoke more emotions than his words could ever.
Though his touch was gone just as fast as it had arrived, and the booming voice of a third party had erupted through the fond atmosphere.
“Get your hands off my woman, forest scum.”
his nickname for Neteyam sounded belittling than the one that you had for him. Both yours and Neteyam’s ears dropped at the boy’s interruption, his voice disturbing all peace nearby. His presence was unwanted, and Neteyam was not afraid to make him aware of such a fact.
“What’re you doing here? Following us around like a freak,” he threw back the words that your people had carelessly thrown at his family, calling them freaks for things that they could not even help. Your chest tightened with guilt as you thought of the way that they had been treated, before focusing back on your current problem.
Your betrothed was now standing before you and the boy that was about to confess his everdying love to you. The fear of getting rebuked by your parents quickly caught up to you, and your breathing picked up as you thought of all the ways your parents would punish you for breaking your promised path. Sayko looked like he was overflowing with anger as he stared between you and the Sully boy, clearly not liking as the boy was so closed to his future matez
Just then, the words seemed to have clicked inside Neteyam’s head. Sayko’s confession was like the final sand grain that hit the bottom of the hourglass. It grounded you, made you feel bitterness for not using your time like you had to, like you could’ve. It left you feeling empty as you gazed towards the boy whose heart you had just involuntarily broken, the same boy who’s heart had learnt to beat for you. The same boy that you had shown a whole different definition of life to.
Of course you were already someone else’s, how could he have been so stupid. You were the chief’s eldest daughter after all. Everything was laid down before you and you could have anything that you wanted, including the attention of many warriors and townsmen. Though he knew that it wasn’t truly like this, that you had worked hard for where you were today, anger clouded his judgement before he could even do anything.
“Neteyam…I was going to tell you, I promise.” you tried, but it fell deaf to the warrior’s ears.
“No,” Neteyam breathed a humourless laugh out as he pinched his nose bridge between his fingers in conflict. “We are not even together, I am stupid for getting upset at you. You are allowed to live the life you want to.” he tells you, as though it was truly your choice to be with Sayko. He looked at you with a foreign look in his eyes, one that you had never seen him look at you with before.
His glare was not hateful, but the trace of betrayal was overpowering. It swarmed his iris that was once filled with love, both feelings that you had inflicted upon him. Neteyam turned to look between you and your betrothed in an attempt to depict if you were pulling some kind of joke on him, trying to catch if this had been all fake.
But no, all that was fake was the moments that you had spent together. All that was fake were the scenarios that you would replay in your mind as you imagined a future where you would be happy with the boy, but life was never that easy.
“Your parents are waiting for you at your marui, i’m sure your mother will be glad to see you ma Y/N.” the nickname threw you off, but the fact that he had already made your family aware of your little escapade made you sick to the stomach. He really had the audacity to not only stalk the both of you, but also make your parents aware of it? It made you want to recoil as he brought a hand to lay down you back, pushing you forward. Your eyes burnt as you turned back to look at the crestfallen Neteyam, who he could walk behind you both and watch as your future mate escorted you back home.
Sayko’s touch felt like fire upon your skin, but not the good type of warmth. His hand felt like the ravaging flames that only brought devastation, and you4 growing hatred towards the boy could counter that heat. You wanted nothing more than to rip the hand that laid against your lower back, but you knew that you were already in so much trouble, and your parents' wrath was not something to be messed with.
Your heart soared with guilt and resentment as you didn’t have time to properly explain anything to Neteyam before Sayko had pulled you away. You feared that you would never have the time to explain anything to him, because you knew that your mother would keep a sharp eye on you to prevent you from escaping to meet the boy once more.
-
You had not even had time to properly enter your family’s marui when your mother had begun to bombard you with questions. The marui was vacant of anyone other than your mother, your betrothed and yourself because your father had escorted everyone outside. Tonowari knew that Ronal would’ve been better at dealing with this situation herself, so he left her to scold you.
Neteyam had not even had the chance to enter with you because his own father had grabbed him by the base of his ear tightly, punishing him like he was a little kid once more. You did not know what was bound to happen to the both of you, but you did know one thing, and it was that your mother was standing fuming before you.
“Is this true?” your mother seethed as she stood next to Sayko. The man looked down at you, his tall figure towering over you. Your ears flicked back as you looked down, unable to look at the fierce glare that your mother had casted upon you.
She curtly grabbed onto your finned-arm, pulling you towards her as she forced you to meet her eyes. Your lips wobbled at the sheer disappointment in your mother’s eyes, because you were just as sensible as your little sister and a mother’s discontentment hurt more than any wound could.
“Is this true, daughter?” Ronal repeated again, more stern with her tone. You nodded slightly, intimidated by your mother’s dominance. Many were scared of Ronal in your clan, and thus why she made a perfect leader. A single tear ran down your soft cheek but her eyes failed to soften at your vulnerability.
Not even an hour ago, you had been sharing a special moment with the boy that you were so in love with. A man that you could picture a future with, unlike the warrior that was currently towering over you cowering frame. You wanted to tell your mother all of Neteyam’s accomplishments, how he was already trained to lead a clan, or how he was the second best warrior after his mother. Though you knew that she’d just shut you down, because there was nothing more important to your mother than duties, not even your own heart.
It didn’t matter to her if your heart was beating for another, she’d pull it out with her own hands and pump it manually if she had to. Your silence was enough to tell Ronal what she needed to know, and her disappointment was practically flowing freely off of her. You had never seen her this angry, not when Ao’nung had gotten in any fight, or when Tsireya had returned home late because she had gotten lost in time while looking for pretty shells.
It was unfair, everything was. You wanted to be able to love who you wanted to, and have a future together. You wanted to move into your very own marui with Neteyam and decorate the place together. But you couldn’t for as long as you were the chief’s daughter, and nothing in this world could change that. The Great-Mother couldn’t rebirth you as another even if you begged with your entire will, and she couldn’t fix what had happened between the both of you either.
Sayko had been dismissed immediately after your confirmation of the events, not without Ronal informing him that she’d talk to him and his family once everything was resolved. She stood before you now, her pregnant belly being the only matter of space between the both of you.
“You have disappointed me daughter,” she stared into your shaky eyes, running a hand down her face. She was exhausted from her duties, and your betrayal to your betrothed was not how she had expected her night to end. “I plan out your future, give you an easy life and this is how you thank me, by affiliating yourself with those demons!”
You couldn’t even defend Neteyam even if you wanted to, because you knew the bigger grave that it would dig you. You couldn’t even say anything as the rest of your family had re-entered the tent, silence suffocating you all. You couldn’t even get yourself to shift your gaze towards your little sister that had called out for your name, distantly hearing your brother telling her to leave you alone.
Tonight you had lost someone very special to you, and death was not even in the frame. The feeling of hurt enveloped your heart and squeezed it so hard that you were sure you could physically feel your chest tightening with anguish. Now nothing could undo what was done now, not your apologies, not your begging, and surely not your lies.
As you laid on your mat at night, you couldnt help but observe the night sky through the open window of your marui. Tears running freely through your silent sobs, staining your delicate skin as they flowed unceasingly. You couldn’t help but be entranced by the stars on this night, noticing how they seemed closer tonight.
Neteyam was just like a star, beautiful and bright from afar just as from up close. Though he was only meant to be appreciated from afar because he burns when you’re at close proximity. But that never happens, because you never get close enough for it to burn, and so you’re left with the resenting feeling of never being able to get close enough.

Being kiri's twin sister was never easy for you. Especially being human. Grace's avatar had given birth to two completely different babies. One completely na'vi and the other completely human. The babies had peculiar things, like kiri had more human features, her hands and etc. And that you could breathe the air of pandora without problems and yellow eyes. Jake and neytiri couldn't adopt a girl and leave the other girl abandoned, so they adopted both of them and raised them as their own daughters. Being different in the omaticaya clan was never a problem, your father was the clan leader, no one dared to say anything about you. But leaving the clan, leaving everything behind. You arrived in a totally new clan, where the presence of your family was strange. You were an alien, harmful and dangerous.
It was difficult for Jake to convince the metkayina clan leaders. Ronal and Tonowari had never seen humans so close. Jake explained everything to them, while neytiri held your hand. After a few long minutes, Ronal and Tonowari accepted your presence. Neytiri had to stand up to the comments that Ronal was saying about you. Thanks to eywa, you quickly fit in with the clan. The ones who didn't fit in with you were a group of metkayina boys who kept annoying you on a daily basis. At first you thought it was normal, your presence was strange to them. But as the years went by, everything became more complicated. It had been two years since you lived in the Metkayina clan, and you were still being harassed by these men. But they were no longer children, but grown men who liked to bother you.
It was midday, and you had gone for a walk with neteyam. It was one of those quiet days where you spent time with your older brother. You were both exploring an island, it was small and had a beautiful creek. Full of precious stones. They were so pretty, perfect for your collection. "Nete…look!!!" you speak, running to sit on the edge of the creek. You pull out a notebook that belonged to your mother, looking through the pages trying to find a picture of some stone that was found on the creek. Neteyam found this adorable, but boring. He knelt down a bit next to you. "Y/n…I'm going for a swim with my ilu, stay here. Yes?" says neteyam, placing his hand on your head. You look up, giving him a smile. "Yes…don't worry" you speak, turning your full attention back to your notebook. You can feel yourself getting lonely, because the silence that had fallen was so soothing.
You settle back in your seat, and begin to look at the rocks in the water. Analyzing them, and making mental notes. You regret not having brought your pencil (which was made of wood and charcoal). You can hear several Na'vi approaching. Most of them were women with their children, sitting on the edge to clean some fruits with the fresh water and some fish. You liked being in this place, you liked the sea and everything to do with it. You see a few women greet you, and you return the gesture. The clan was kind to you, after meeting you they became more open to you. You were grateful that they were so friendly with your presence. Enjoying the scenery, you can see that the creek is spreading out beyond the wooded area. You knew you should not leave this place, neteyam would be coming for you soon. And you knew your father didn't like you wandering around unsupervised. According to Jake, the Pandora Seas were too dangerous for you. But you weren't going to go far…just a little.
You get up from the ground, and follow the water current. Entering the wet jungle, while walking and jumping on the rocks. You stay like this for at least 10 minutes, glancing back. You see that you have wandered too far. So you decide to stop walking, sitting on the side of the creek, to take a look at the new rocks that now reflected from the depth. They were so beautiful, with different colors and shapes. You had to have several for your collection and others to make new pieces of clothing with kiri and tuk. You hear how several branches move, and you become alert. Watching as out of the bushes come the group of metkayina men who were always having some trouble with you. "Look what we have here" says one of them. Approaching, while the others followed him. "Hello" you speak up, you were never a spoiled girl. So you wave at him, and decide to keep looking and picking up your rocks. "Hey…what are you doing here all alone?" the man kneels down, to be closer to you. "I'm not alone, I'm with my brother" you speak up, sitting up straighter to confront them.
"Really? I don't see anyone here" the man signals with his hands. Looking at his friends, as they laughed evilly. You felt nervous, you were so scared. "I should get back…goodbye" you start to get up from the ground, but you feel one of them grab your arm. Causing you to sit up suddenly, you groan in pain. "Tell me…what do you have here?" one of the men, takes the notebook you were holding in your hands. "Give me that…that's important to me" you shout, getting up from the ground, trying to take the object from his hands. But this was useless, you were too small compared to them. "Do you want it back?" speaks the na'vi who was the leader of the group. "Yes, please" you speak, lowering your hands to now place them on your chest. "If you want it back, you have to bend down on the ground…just for curiosity" says the man. Your eyes widen. "For what?" you speak, but you see how they all laugh. And he pulls you close. "We're curious about you…mmm why don't you do us that favor and let us see what your cute little cunt looks like" the man speaks cheekily.
You can feel your heartbeat quicken, you could feel your stomach churning. You were aware that your body was curious to the na'vi. But this was something that was not right, you knew. All the alarms in your body were on fire, as you wished neteyam was here. Your eyes began to fill with tears, as you watched those na'vi boys waiting for your answer with a smile on their face. "N…no, please give me back my notebook…I won't do anything" you scream a little, but it sounds more like a cry of desperation. "Well…if you don't" says the boy holding the notebook in his hand, holding it close to the water. Making the gesture as if he's going to drop it. You reach over, hopping a little to grab it. "Ah, ah, ah, ah on the ground…and then the notebook" the man speaks, you move a little away.
The noises of the argument had caught the attention of ao'nung, who had gone for a ride with his ilu, in an attempt to distract himself from his labors. He had left his ilu at the other end of the island, while he walked and explored the small island. Not 10 minutes had passed, when he heard your voice. He knew her very well… he spent a lot of time with the Sully family. And as strange as it sounds… he had memorized all the tones of voice that came out of your mouth. He becomes alert, when he can sense a hint of desperation in your tone, so he decides to look for where it's coming from. Walking slowly, he arrives at your location. He slowly approaches and realizes that you are not alone. He makes a face of annoyance, when he hears the voice of the group of men. "They have nothing better to do," thinks ao'nung to himself, as he glances through some bushes.
He is very surprised, with the scene that his eyes had found. You were on the ground, on all fours. With your head pressed tightly to the ground. While one of the men held you in place, with one foot on your back. "Ok… why don't you help us and move the cloth to see you completely" says the man. This makes ao'nung furious, who without thinking comes out of his hiding place. All of them, noticing the presence of the future clan leader, move away from you. You collapse on the ground, feeling pain in your back and face. "What the hell is going on here!!!" shouts ao'nung, pushing one of the men. With such force that he was left sitting on the ground, hitting his head on a tree trunk. "I'm sorry…it's " tries to apologize to one of the group men.
"I want you to get the hell out of here!!!! Because if I don't I swear" before ao'nung could finish, the group of men had run out of the place. One of them threw the notebook in your direction, running away in fear. After standing still in place, furious. Ao'nung turns in your direction. He sees that you were sitting, seeing if you had any wounds on your knees. "Y/N…are you okay?" says ao'nung approaching you. You look up, revealing a tear-stained face. The boy brings his hand up to your face, to wipe it a little. "I'm sorry…I promise you that as soon as I get to the village I will take care of them. This will not stay like this" says ao'nung trying to comfort you. But he sees that this does not cheer you up. He knows how sad you must feel. You were the butt of these idiots' jokes, and they are already going too far with you. "Are you feeling okay?" ao'nung now sits down next to you. He sees how in your hands you hold some sort of notebook. He recognized it right away…it's that thing you always carry with you.
"It's been damaged…it's almost destroyed" you speak, moving some pages of your notebook. Which was wet. When they threw it on the ground, it had fallen near the water. You tried to pick it up, but it was too late. "But…Y/N. You were willing to let them hurt you for this thing" says ao'nung, touching the cover of the notebook with his finger. You look up somewhat annoyed. "This isn't just a thing…this belonged to my mom. She had her whole life here…what she had done and discovered in Pandora. This is important to me…this brings me closer to her." You cry, as you hug the notebook to your chest. Ao'nung decides to say nothing, and respects your space. Letting you cry and vent for a while. After a while…he comes closer to you. Stroking your hair, he wraps his hand around your shoulder so that you lie on his chest. He can notice, how your crying gets louder. And decides to hug you.
" Calm down" he says with a gentle tone. He feels you pull away a little, "Thank you for helping me…I was so scared" ao'nung can see your puffy eyes, and your pink cheeks. "You're welcome…and I'm sorry you had to go through that…but you shouldn't risk yourself like that. It's dangerous," says ao'nung, stroking your arm with his hand. Holding you in place, on your chest. "I know…but look" you move away a little, but not so much as to break the physical contact you had now. He can watch as you search through the pages. "See this?" you hold up the notebook so he can get a better look. It was a drawing of an aquatic flower, it was red with blue. He couldn't see it in detail, because the paint had begun to fade. "Mom wrote here that it is a flower that only grows in the deep sea" he sees as you drop your head on his chest. You sigh, as you wipe away a few tears. "How I wish I could see one… in this notebook is everything I want to be someday" you speak. Ao'nung enjoyed the moment, he liked listening to you talk about your dreams. "They are syulangs, they grow the depths and then they can live anywhere. They generate a kind of oil, it is good for the skin and has a very good smell" says Ao'nung, lowering his gaze. Noticing how your eyes widen. "Have you seen them?" you ask, at this point you had turned away from him. Taking his face in your hands, bringing your face closer to his. You were now inches apart, and ao'nung was getting nervous. You had never been so close to him.
He had never analyzed your beautiful features. You were strange…but beautiful at the same time. His tail began to wag back and forth. He didn't know what you were talking about, you kept on talking while he was unmoved watching, how you talked, moved your hands. Even how your nose wrinkled, every time you raised your arms. "Ao'nung…can you take me to see them?" you ask, now you had caught his full attention. "Ahhh yes…sure" the boy says. Feeling you hug him by the neck. "Ahhh thank you" you speak, now sounding calmer. He hugs you back, closing his eyes. They stay like that for a while, until you hear your brother's voice. "Y/N!!!" neteyam shouts.
"I'm here!!!" you shout back, watching as your brother emerges from the bushes. You pick yourself up off the ground, moving away from ao'nung. The boy stands with empty arms, watching as you run to your brother hugging him. "Where were you? Are you okay?" asks neteyam, making you turn around, checking for injuries. He can tell, your knees are a little scraped. "And this?" says neteyam, taking your leg in the air to get a better look. "Nete be careful !!!!" you shout, sometimes your brother could forget that you were very small compared to him. "I'm fine… don't worry" you speak. But you see how ao'nung approaches you. "That group of men were bothering her…but I was able to get there in time" says ao'nung. Neteyam thanks him, he had a long time defending his sister from those idiots. It was not an easy task. "Well…I think we'd better go home" says neteyam, taking your hand. He had noticed the looks ao'nung was giving you. "Yes please..I want to rest" you speak, moving closer to give ao'nung one last hug. hugging his hand tightly. "Again…thank you. See you later "you speak, pulling away from the boy.
A few minutes after you had left, au'nung decided to return to his ilu. But just as he took the first step, he noticed that you had left your notebook on the floor. He picked it up, and noticed that it was open at the page where the flower was drawn. He chuckled a little to himself, remembering with excitement that you told him everything. This little object was so important to you, you could give your life for it. It seemed silly to him, so he looked through the pages more. And he found a picture, in it appeared a woman with red hair, two men and other women. It had some words written in Na'vi, which said 'family' or 'my family'. Right next to that picture, there was another one…where you could see all the members of the family. But they were all small. Ao'nung looked at it with curiosity. So this was what you protected so much…you were adorable.
The night came, and as it was obvious. Neteyam had to tell her father what had happened. He couldn't help it, as soon as you entered the marui. Your mother saw that your knees were bleeding. So while you sat there watching your mother heal your wounds, you listened as your father scolded Neteyam. "I told you not to go away from her…if you go to the water. Your sister goes with you, otherwise you stay by her side" jake is a little upset. "Something serious could have happened" jake yells. "But it didn't happen…dad calm down" you speak from the other side of marui. You hadn't told anyone about what really happened to you and the disgusting comments those men said. You knew your father would do something crazy, and you didn't want to cause trouble. After a while, everyone is quiet going about their own business. You were playing with tuk, when you hear a tapping at the entrance of the marui.
Ao'nung was there, holding a basket full of flowers syulangs. The boy peeked his head to the side, meeting your eyes. He could see, how your eyes lit up. "Ahhh…mmm I brought something for Y/N" says ao'nung, you could feel the nervousness in his voice. You get up from the ground, and walk quickly to him. Everyone in the family looked at each other they were a little confused, but lo'ak's giggles could be heard. "Shhh shut up" you gesture to your brother to shut up. Moving closer to ao'nung, you both step further out of the marui, for some privacy. "Where? You brought them for…" you were interrupted when ao'nung put the basket down. "For you…I got them for you," says the boy. You put a hand to your mouth, you are surprised and grateful. No one has ever made this gesture to you…no one. "I'm sorry about what happened this afternoon… I'm sorry you didn't feel comfortable, I know it's hard to be you in this clan, but I want you to know" says ao'nung, taking your hands, to give them a little squeeze. "That I see you," says ao'nung. He could see how flushed you were getting. "Are you okay?" asks the boy, watching as you bend over and take the basket in your hands. And you run off to your marui. "Y/N wait!!! Your notebook!!!" yells ao'nung.
Watching as you run back, quickly taking the notebook from his hand. Not if before, taking his hand and dragging it down. Now he was at your level, and feels you reach over and give him a kiss on the cheek. "I see you too ao'nung" you speak, laughing a little, to quickly enter your marui. Leaving him alone there, flushed and surprised. His heart was pounding, he had to control himself. He didn't know how he had created these feelings for you, but he loved feeling them so much.
