ONE FOR ME
warnings :: reader gets injured, me tryna replicate eugene language
ron anderson x reader
being from rick’s group gave you many opportunities; to fight the dead for the families who can’t. it was decided that you would go with glenn when he had to attend runs. this had pros and cons for you. pros, you got to keep up your skills and go back to what you’d — ironically — consider more home than any of the mansion-sized houses in alexandria.
cons, you could die. get hurt. any negative possibility from before could still happen, so why did you agree to go on the runs in the first place? when there’s the safety of alexandria waiting for you? there’s one simple, stupid answer. ron anderson.
after being out there for so long, away from anyone your age other than carl, you had no idea how to deal with little teen crushes.
especially ones on boys with a girlfriend.
so you’d take your chances going back to the nostalgic smell of decaying flesh and the sounds of the dead gurgling on, probably, their own blood.
what made things worse was ron’s reciprocated attention and affection. it made you feel awkward. you didn’t know how to portray your feelings properly, how to respond to his advances. and then you remember enid, and your brain really short-circuits.
“hey,” you hear ron’s breathless voice behind you, turning around to see him jogging towards you. “another run?”
you shrug, “we need things.” he squints his eyes to look at you through the sun, shooting you a sad look. he takes your hand and pulls you away from the gate and your team. your hand feels like it’s on fire, you hate how this boy makes you feel.
“can’t you stay for once?” the look in his eyes and sincerity in his voice has your face heating up. you nibble your lip nervously before wiggling your hand out of his grasp. you try to not dwell on the dejected look on his face.
you give him a tight-lipped smile, “i don’t know much about relationships, but i don’t think you should be holding another girl’s hand.” he opens his mouth to protest when you start to walk away. “and i can’t stay, they need me!”
he watches you get in the car with glenn, heath, and nicholas, sighing and waving at you. causing you to look at him blankly before the car is disappearing down the road.
ron laughs at your behavior, turning around as eugene shuts the gate. he hears the metal clash before eugene’s voice calls out to him. “i can feel the thickening tension of teenage romance budding between the two of you.” ron tilts his head at him, brows furrowing at the random interjection. “it’s palpable.”
you didn’t expect that interaction with ron to throw you off so much, but you have to admit, it was nice having someone care for you. the group had always had their own cliques; maggie and glenn, rick with michonne, carl, and judith. sasha with tyrese, carol and daryl. you were stuck on the outside.
the closest to that you were beginning to have was noah, and he’s gone now.
and nearly, you were too. the run was going alright, you all had gone into a pharmacy and you were instructed to look in the back where the prescription medications were. while the others took on the convenience store items and over-the-counter meds. you were blazing through the labels, looking for what glenn instructed you to find.
“cillin, cillin,” you mumble to yourself, looking at the ends of the words on the bottles. you needed to find antibiotics, and your head was so clouded with teenage feelings and confusion that you didn’t hear growling behind you.
a hand reaches out and grabs your shoulder, causing you to whip around and grab your knife. you stab the walker through the eye, mouth agape. you look around to see you had knocked a shelf out of place in your frenzy. one that was holding a door with a broken knob shut. hiding a room full of walkers.
you back away with wide eyes, shoving a bunch of medication from the nearest shelf in your bag. you’re sure you could use it for something, maybe your possible death wouldn’t be a waste.
you trip over the decaying arm of the walker, watching as it slides across the floor. you land with a grunt, an odd sticky pop sound ringing in your ear accompanied by a newfound pain in your shoulder.
you’re unable to hold in a yelp at the pain, using your opposite arm to push you across the room. walkers start to crawl towards you, and you take the opportunity to stab whichever one you can reach. you accept your impending doom and tiredly try to take out the herd, but the more they stack on top you, the harder it is to reach.
gunshots fly through the air and everything becomes a disgusting blur. bodies of the dead falling to the ground before the pile of them on top of you are flung off and you’re being hauled over someone’s shoulder by your bad arm. you make a noise of pain you couldn’t hear before your vision goes black.
you blink your eyes, staring up at the white ceiling above you. you know you’re home, well, in alexandria. you turn your head and recognize the infirmary. that’s when the searing pain in your arm becomes obvious once more.
“i think it’s a severe muscle tear,” you hear denise say, sitting up with a small wince. glenn and ron are in the room, both of their attention’s on denise. “it’s really intense, sudden pain, it must have made her blood pressure levels drop. that’s why she fainted, but she’ll be fine with rest.”
ron laughs humorously, “i don’t think ‘rest’ is in her vocabulary.” your heart tugs at the sight of him, standing there, waiting for you to wake up.
“i guess you know me well.” ron and glenn turn around in surprise at the sound of your voice. you send them weak smiles as the three come to your side.
glenn gives you a soft smile, squeezing your hand, “i didn’t know what happened, i wanted to stay here until you woke up.” you give him a thankful nod, watching as he tells denise something about maggie before retreating to the door.
denise stands awkwardly by your side before patting your shoulder. you grimace at the pain shooting through you, “sorry- i just… i’ll just go look at the books again.” she stammers before going back to her studying corner.
you and ron share a look before laughing, “poor thing.” you mumble, fiddling with your fingers. it hurt to move your bad arm at all.
ron’s hand comes up to yours, intertwining your fingers. you go to repeat what you said earlier when he cuts you off, “for the record,” he smiles, kissing your knuckles. “you’re the only one for me.”

Heyyy!! I was wondering if you could maybe write a ron anderson x f!reader? Where ron walks over to her house and sneaks in through the window, then they start talking on the roof(possibly confessing feelings) tyyyy!!!🫶🏼🫶🏼
Stargazing
A/n: sorry this took so long anon, I was way to focused on the Carol and Daryl fic, but I took the chance to do this one. Hope I pleased. 🤭💕
It was another scorching night at Alexandria since the annual heatwaves hit. You were laying in your bed in just a singlet and shorts. Even still you were sweating. Your hair was sticking to your skin so much you had to pull it back into a bun. You couldn't sleep, not in this oven of a room.
As if your mind had summoned it, there was a not so quiet knock on your window, before it was pulled open and someone climbed through. You jump out of your bed and grab your gun off the bedside table, aiming it at the figure.
"Calm down there, tiger."
You lower your gun, "Ron! What're you doing here?"
"Couldn't sleep, came over to annoy you." He shrugs nonchalantly.
"Of course you did," you mumble under your breath.
"How do you sleep in here? It's like the sun decided to have a sleepover with you."
"Well I wasn't sleeping, for starters-"
Before you can say anything more, he grabs your wrist and pulls you to the window.
"Ron! Where are we going?!" You ask, slightly startled by his bold move.
"The roof." He looks over his shoulder with his shit eating grin that you secretly love so much.
He climbs back out the window and you follow by instinct. You both scramble to the roof, helping each other like the 'best friends you are. Once on the roof you lay down a comfortable distance from each, and it's almost too far. You lay in silence together.
"Those stars look like a heart." You point at a set of stars.
He chuckled and points to a different cluster, "Those ones look like a dick."
You backhand his arm playfully.
"What?! It does." He argues, acting innocent.
You shake your head with a small laugh.
It falls silent again.
"Y/n, I think... I think you're one of the prettiest girls I know." He confessed randomly, a light blush across his pretty face.
You're caught of guard by his confession but quickly regain your composure, "Really?"
He doesn't reply. It's obvious he caught himself off guard when he said that aloud.
He collects his thoughts, "Yeah, you're really pretty."
You smile at him, "You're not half bad yourself."Who are you kidding? He's gorgeous. You see the blush deepen on his cheeks under the moonlight. It's like a painting, better than the Mona Lisa.
"Y/n, I think I have a crush on you." He says seriously, sitting up.
"You...think?"
"No, I know." He says confidently.
You sit up, and look at him. You notice the way the moonlight highlights his feature.
"I...like you too."
"Oh, I knew you would." His cocky grin grew slightly.
"Oh shut it, Anderson. You did not." You can't help but chuckle.
"So, are we like, a thing now?" He asks, the iconic grin vanishing for a second.
"I thought you knew?" You smirk, teasingly.
He's silent for a second, before his confidence returns, "We are."

clean
carl grimes x fem!reader
summary : you were always there for carl, now it was his turn to be there for you.
takes place during : somewhere between s5 and s6
warnings : mentions of self harm, mentions of suicidal thoughts, mentions of attempted sa, mentions of death, lots of mental health talk, talk of relapsing
word count : 1,137 extra : this one is just really dark, really dark. and it talks a lot about possible triggering topics, so please do not read if any of those things could possibly trigger you!
it had been three weeks since you came to alexandria. three weeks since that awful night. three weeks clean. the burning feeling was still there. so were the thoughts that maybe you’d be better off dead. but he was also there. and hopefully, he’d always be there.
then it was four weeks - a whole month - clean. four weeks in alexandria. four weeks with him.
then it had been five weeks. then six. the seven. then it was two months.
judith was growing up, rick and michonne had something going on, carol was baking. the residents of alexandria were treating you and your group like you truly belonged. everything was going well.
then, ron’s dad died. and he got angry, he got really angry. he would rant to you for hours on end, raging at carl for ‘ruining’ his life. you weren’t sure if ron knew how close you and carl really were - how your moms were best friends in high school and got pregnant around the same time, how you watched carl grow up from the moment he was born (you were born just three days earlier and constantly reminded him), and how carl refused to leave you behind when the apocalypse started. maybe ron didn’t know, maybe he simply assumed you and carl were friends because you were in the same group together. or maybe he did know, and he enjoyed being the one to take up half your time, because you were the one thing he could take from carl.
you were able to contain ron, at least a decent amount. you stopped him from hurting people, mostly himself. you knew the boys would quarrel every chance they got though. you knew when they were in the garage they were fighting. you knew it all. but you didn’t know ron would snap. you didn’t know that walkers would break into alexandria. you didn’t know ron had a gun, and you didn’t know he would shoot carl.
you didnt know you cared so much about carl. that he was the one reason you were able to stay clean for two months. but you did know he would get better, he always did. carl was the type to always bounce back, even if others couldnt. after that night… the night you found daryl… carl bounced back. you couldnt, but carl could. no matter how many times you showered, or took a bath, or went swimming, you were never clean enough. you could still feel his hands all over you.
carl thought he knew a lot, just like you. but he didn’t know the pain you were in. he knew when you were younger what you delt with, he knew that you weren’t always the happiest kid. but he thought you were getting better. you two celebrated two months being clean.
he thought a lot of things.
while he was getting better, though in pain, he made sure that he focused more on you then himself. you would do the same for him, that he knew for sure.
another thing he thought he knew, but was so wrong about, was that you had moved past that night. he tried, he truly did. he could remember the fear he felt as if it was yesterday, but that was all he could remember. he blocked the rest out. he thought you had done the same. fear was something everyone had gotten used to the past few months, if you weren’t scared were you really human? if you weren’t scared, how different were you from the walkers?
you were scared. all you were was scared. carl knew that.
but he didn’t know that you weren’t two months clean. you weren’t even a week clean.
“carl?” your voice snapped him out of his daze, how long had he been drifting off? was he ever even asleep - hell, were you? there you were, lying in his arms, but he couldn’t even remember if you were sleeping or not. probably not, based off of the tone of voice you used.
you had been crying.
“carl, are you awake?” you asked, and he could feel your body turn as you moved to face him.
“yeah, i’m awake. what’s wrong?” he asked, eyes softening as he recognized your puffy eyes and the redness around your nose.
“i’ve been lying. i’m just a big liar.” you sobbed, clutching his shirt as you cried harder while speaking.
“what? what do you mean?” he asked, eyebrows now furrowed out of confusion.
“i’m not two months clean - hell i’m not even a week clean! i try so hard to be clean, but i just can’t forget that night. that godawful night. i try so hard - really, please believe me, i do… but i just can’t.”
“it’s ok… you don’t have to apologize, and please trust me - i believe you. you know i’ll always believe you, right?”
“why do ya believe me… always? darlin’… all i do is create trouble! it’s like im a walking bad luck charm.” you cried a little louder, and held onto carl a little tighter.
curse that accent you were slowly picking up from being around his father constantly, because if it weren’t for that accent he’d be able to think like a normal human being, and comfort you in the ways he knew you needed. but because of that damn accent, all he wanted to do was kiss his sweet, caring, and sad best friend and hold you as close and as tight as possible to protect you from all the bad in the world.
“i - how do i prove to you how much i care for you? how do i even begin to prove that as long as you’re not planin’ to hurt yourself in ways that you’ll never heal from, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been clean?”
“it don’t matter?”
“no. as long as i wake up tomorrow and you’re breathing, it don’t matter. just please, next time you ever wanna hurt yourself, come to me first? let me help you. i know, you don’t think you deserve it, but i love ya. i need you safe. i think i’d go crazy if you weren’t here.”
“i promise..” you mumbled, slowly loosening your grip on carls shirt, though he tightened the grip of his arms around your waist, subsequently pulling you closer.
“get some sleep, we’ll talk tomorrow, okay?” he sighed before placing a soft kiss on your forehead.
“okay” you murmured before falling asleep in the brunettes arms.
it had been two months since you arrived in alexandria. two months since that wretched night. but 2 days clean. the burning feeling had subsided though. so had the thoughts that maybe you’d be better off dead. he was also there. he’d always be there.

I’m not sure if this is where I ask for requests… but could you do a more weirder one where y/n is distant from everyone and Ron and Carl talk about her body and how she looks(in other words… what they would to to her- if she consented ofc) because she wears somewhat revealing clothing. if not that’s absolutely fine! :))))
Whispers | Carl Grimes
Carl Grimes x Fem!Reader (Kinda Ron Anderson x Fem!Reader)
CW: Mentions of smut
im gonna put my own little twist in this request
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carl and Ron were sitting on the porch at Ron’s house looking at Y/N writing in her notebook.
“Carl man look at what she’s wearing. I bet those leggings make her ass look so good.” Ron said biting his lip. Carl narrowed his eyes at Ron before turning his attention back to Y/N. “Yeah and that crop top she has on looks so small on her, i could just fuck her right here and right now if she asked me too.” Carl said starring at you.
Ron chuckled slightly at Carl’s words. “Please bro if she’s gonna ask anyone to fuck her it’s gonna be me, the things I would do to her.” Ron said before gasping, “She’s getting up dude. She’s getting up!” He screamed smacking Carl’s arm.
You walked over to the boys, “Hi Ron, Hey Carl.” You said giving them a small smile before walking away. You felt their eyes on you so you decided to sway your hips a little as you walked away.
Carl gasped as you swayed your hips, he looked at Ron. "Dude she just swayed her hips for me, see I told you she wants me to fuck her." He said to the other boy who just rolled his eyes. "No she swayed them for me, she wants me to fuck her." Ron said to Carl.
Carl got up and walked after you. "Hey Y/N wait up!" He yelled. You stopped walking and turned around to face him. "Yeah what's up?" You asked the long haired boy.
"I uh i was wondering if you wanted to hang out?" He asked you, you sighed in response. "Sorry Carl i really just wanna be alone for a little." You gave him a small smile before walking away, you smirked and swayed your hips as you left. "By the way i do want you to fuck me and not Ron." You said smirking.

Hope you guys like it!

16. Wanting
Holly died that evening. It didn't matter how hard Denise tried, she had just lost too much blood. Hannah knew how hard Denise would take it before it even happened. While a flat beeping sound played in the background, Denise asked them all to leave, allowing her and Tara a moment. Hannah was glad they each had someone to lean on.
Hannah walked cautiously outside, moving slowly so as to not disturb her injuries. She just wanted to get home. She would go inside, clean up whatever mess was left over from the fight, and lie down. She didn't want to look at herself, she didn't want to see the bloodstained clothes and sticky gauze that she now wore. When Hannah reached her door, however, she paused. Was she ready to go back inside? Of course, she was, Hannah thought, nothing bad had really happened to her. She had seen people die for God's sake, she could push herself inside her own home. She could be strong enough. Hannah gripped the door handle tightly and turned, coming face to face with Carl Grimes.
Hannah let out a gasp, "Carl?"
He stood still in front of Hannah, his body bent down slightly by the nearby window. In his hands were shards of fallen glass, scooped neatly into small piles in his soft palms.
"Hannah," He stood quickly now as if he was surprised to see her in her own home.
"Carl, how did you get in here?" That was all Hannah could think to say, suddenly more conscious of her appearance.
"I just," Carl deposited the pile of glass into a new pile on the windowsill, "I heard what happened. I just wanted to check on you, see if you were okay." He wiped his hands on his dark jeans.
"Oh," Hannah spoke. She hadn't expected that.
"So are you?" Carl moved closer now, stepping away from the window, "Are you okay?" His eyes were filled with a genuine concern that Hannah hadn't recognized. Though, as she continued to stare at him, Hannah found that it was the same look he had given her in the woods. It was comforting.
"I'm fine, Carl." She moved past the boy.
"You got stabbed," He said, somewhat exasperated now.
"I know," Hannah said without turning, "but I'm fine now."
"Hannah--" Carl started.
"I need to clean up, okay?" She turned to him.
Carl gestured to the window slightly, "I already started. It was crazy when I got here."
That was it for Hannah. He had come to her house and cleaned for her. He went to check on her and, when she wasn't home, he cleaned for her. Hannah didn't know what to say. Hannah didn't know what that meant.
"Carl I," She paused, sighing, "Thank you, really. But you didn't have to do that. You should go be with Judith. Or your dad. I'm sure he needs help. I'm just gonna go rest, okay."
"Alone?" Carl said simply.
"Yes?"
"Well, what if something happens?"
"Carl--"
"No, I'm serious. Just, just stay with me for a little bit. I have to go talk to Ron anyway. Come with me. Please."
"Carl, you really don't have to do that. I'll be fine." Hannah tried to convince both the boy and herself.
"I want you to." His eyes were serious.
Hannah thought about it.
"Okay."
---
Carl explained to Hannah that Enid left just before the attack. She wasn't exactly surprised, she always knew that one of Enid's trips would end with her not coming back. But, admittedly, Hannah hadn't expected it to happen so soon. Carl told her that he planned on going out to look for Enid, something Hannah herself had thought about when he told her.
They found Ron sitting just outside the gazebo, running his knife in and out of the ground, pulling up dirt as he did so.
Carl approached the boy, Hannah standing just behind him. Ron looked up at the two of them and she could tell he was angry. For a moment, though, when he saw the bandages that covered Hannah's stitches, she saw his eyes soften.
"You okay?" Carl asked and Ron's face turned angry once again.
"Why wouldn't I be?" He spoke with sarcasm heavy in his voice. Hannah couldn't help but scoff lightly.
"Have you seen Enid?" Carl continued.
"Not since I seen her with you," He said with an accusatory tone.
"Ron," Hannah spoke softly. She knew why he was upset with Carl. She knew that he had never liked Carl very much, especially not after he started hanging out with Enid and her. But that didn't give him the right to be rude right now. Both of the boys ignored her, though.
"Look, I think she went over the wall just before the herd came, and now she's stuck out there."
"What makes you think she isn't dead?" Ron shook his head stiffly.
"Ron, stop it," Hannah spoke louder now stepping closer to the boy on the ground.
"Come on, man" Carl added.
Ron scoffed at them, shaking his head as he stood up, putting the knife he had been playing with in his pocket.
"I'll go find her," Ron stopped when Carl spoke, "I just need your help. If we could maybe climb up--"
"I'm not helping you, Carl." Ron waved him off.
"Ron, she's your friend. Don't be stupid." Hannah told him, becoming angry herself. How could Ron act as if he didn't care?
"My girlfriend!" he stared at Hannah for a moment before turning his attention to Carl, "Or I mean, 'cause she was was anyway, right?"
"You're just gonna leave her out there because you're jealous?" Hannah said incredulously.
"Oh, shut up Hannah," He pointed to her, " I can't believe you're on his side! Again!"
"Hey, man," Carl stepped in quickly, stepping slightly in front of the girl.
"No, okay. I tried to tell her to stop going over that wall. I told 'er there's bad people out there, and that it's stupid and dangerous!"
"Not if you know what you're doing." Hannah knew Carl's words would make Ron mad.
"Well, I'm not gonna let you go." He spoke lowly, staring Carl down.
"You can't stop us," Carl spoke in the same tone.
"Us?" Ron chuckled lightly, "What is Hannah gonna go with you? Look at her."
Before Carl could speak for her, Hannah spoke, "Yes, Ron, I am. She may not be yours, but Enid is my friend. I'm not just gonna leave her there by herself."
"These people are ruining you, Hannah." Ron said through his teeth, and then pointed to Carl, "He is ruining you."
Hannah let out a sigh and shook her head before she and Carl both turned to leave.
"Hannah!" They heard from behind them. "Hannah, you are not going out there!" Ron reached for her arm, pulling it hard enough for her to wince. Carl immediately turned around, pushing the boy back.
"Back off!" He shouted and they began to push each other.
"Guys stop, this is stupid," Hannah yelled out. Carl ran at Ron, both of them at each other's chests. "Stop!"
Carl pushed Ron hard, forcing him to the ground. When he landed, Ron let out a weak cough. Hannah grabbed Carl's arm while he puffed out his chest.
"Carl, leave it." She said as she tugged them away.
"I'll tell your dad!" Ron spoke from the ground, "He'll go out there to find you, then other people will too. And then somebody's gonna die."
Hannah felt Carl stop as Ron finished.
"Ron, shut up," She spoke, but the boys just stared at each other.
Finally, Ron said, "You save my life, I'm saving yours."
---
Hannah spent the rest of her day with Denise, helping her to clean up the infirmary. The more time she spent away from her home, the more Hannah realized she didn't want to go back. Of course, she wanted to sleep in her own bed, it was all she could think about. But she didn't want to go back to that house. Even after Carl had cleaned for her, Hannah knew there would still be blood on the floor, there would still be broken glass from the window. It was all too much. But after a while, there wasn't anything else she could do, so, Hannah went home.
Coming from the infirmary, Hannah passed Carl's house as she walked. She was surprised to see him sitting on the grass outside of his porch, similar to how Ron was earlier. She wanted to say 'hi', and maybe see how he was doing after their conversation with Ron. But Carl never looked up, so Hannah continued walking.
When she reached her door for the last time today, Hannah hesitated before going inside. Just being on that porch brought her back, back to her crawling in the grass, back to the woman on top of her. Her breath quickened, her hand instinctively holding her side. Hannah couldn't go inside. She wouldn't. And so Hannah sat on the bench on her porch and closed her eyes, rocking back and forth slightly.
"Hannah," Someone said in a loud whisper. Hannah jolted awake, now seeing that Carl was standing in front of her.
"What's wrong, Carl?" He looked surprised at her question.
"Nothing, I just-- I saw you up and here and I wanted to see if you were alright."
Hannah rubbed her eyes and sat up straighter, "Carl, you really don't have to keep checking up on me."
"Well, then why are you sitting outside?" He asked.
Hannah thought before speaking, "It's nice out."
"No, it's not," Carl spoke.
"Carl--" Hannah tried before being cut off.
"Hannah, why are you outside?"
"It's fine, please, just leave it alone."
They stared at each other, not saying anything. One thing they would always have in common is their stubbornness.
"Remember what you said about Enid?" Carl said randomly.
"What?" Hannah shuffled fully to see Carl's face in the light of the sunset.
"You said you wouldn't leave her alone. Because she was your friend. That's what you told Ron," Carl paused, "You are my friend, Hannah. I won't leave you alone." Carl's eyes were serious, just like they had been when he was at her house earlier. He had the same look in his eye that he had during that stupid fight with Ron. Carl looked determined.
Hannah sighed, leaning her head into her hands, careful not to touch the cuts on her forehead "Look, I just-- I don't know, I'm sorta scared to go inside, okay? It's not that big a deal."
"Then let's do it together," She heard Carl say simply.
"What?" Hannah looked up now.
"Let's go inside together. You were able to go in earlier when I was there. Let's do it again." Hannah could hear the pride in his words. But it wasn't the same pride he'd had when he was fighting with Ron. This wasn't some sort of masculine need to save her, he genuinely wanted to.
Before she could protest, Carl put out his hand to hers, tugging her up lightly.
"Carl, I--" He ignored her words stepping away from her and opening the door.
"Please?" Carl said, holding the door open from the inside.
She watched as his eyes begged her, and finally nodded. Hannah stepped through the doorway, following Carl as they walked inside.
Her house was still a mess. There was still leftover glass that hadn't been picked up, decorating the windows. Hannah could still see her own blood in the kitchen from where the woman had cut her. It all made her want to cry. It made Hannah want to curl up in a ball and hide away. It made Hannah scared.
Carl gripped her hand, pulling Hannah out of her own memories, "Let's just go upstairs, okay?" he spoke softly.
That night, Hannah slept for the first time since the attack. Carl had offered to leave her alone now, not wanting to invade her space. But as she was in bed, watching him leave from under her covers, Hannah asked him to stay.
"You don't have to," She said softly, "If you want to go you can, I'm sure Rick will wonder where you are."
Carl said nothing for a while, only looking back at her, the sound of their soft breaths filling the room. Then, he walked back to the bed and sat on the floor, his back leaning against the mattress.
"Go to sleep, Hannah." He smiled, "I want to stay."
And so she did.

HIII Loveliess!!! Oh my god, a Carl-centric chapter??? who would have thought? I know it's a little bit shorter than usual but I really hope you all like it. Like I said before, I absolutely love these episodes and I've been planning these chapters forever so I'm so happy to finally be sharing them!
How do we feel about Carl staying over??

After losing your family, your life was miserable. No matter how long you trudged through the woods, you never ended up anywhere. The thought of reconnecting with someone only hurt you, you could only imagine what could happen to them and the pain you’d be put through once again.
You knew if you ever were to cross anyone again, you’d leave them be. If they offered you anything, you wouldn’t take it. Building new relationships to lose wasn’t something you were looking for. Some might’ve called you stubborn or introverted. You’d say you were just being smart.
You did actually cross a good amount of people during your travels, usually families that were missing a sibling or parents, you could tell they wouldn’t last long so you never really planned on sticking with them. Why would you put yourself through that pain?
You tried your hardest, some offers were tempting and as ungrateful as you felt not accepting them, you knew it was for the best.
Except one.
One day you were walking through the woods, like you had been for what felt like months. You heard shuffling through the woods and you stopped in your tracks. You place your hand on the handle of your large knife that rested in a holster on your hip. You look around, listening for anything which it wasn’t loud so you knew it wasn’t a walker. It was a human.
The next thing you know, a girl pops out from behind a tree. She seems about your age, maybe nothing to worry about. Regardless, you still pull your knife out. Who wouldn’t?
“Chill…Im not gonna hurt you or anything.” She explains with a calm tone, walking passed to sit against a fallen log behind you. You turn to look at her and you say nothing. “Well are you gonna sit?” She adds. “I don’t even know you.” You put your knife back into its holster. “So? Can’t just sit and be a human with me?” She retorts. “I’m actually not sure I want you to. It looks and…no offense- smells like you’ve been out here for a while.”
Ouch okay. “Well hate to tell you there’s not many bathing opportunities out here.” You tell her. She looks up at you and laughs. “No I know. I arrived at the gates in a pretty disgusting state.” She looks down at her hands, picking at the skin at the side of her nails. “Gates? What gates?”
You study the way she looks at you, she realizes she didn’t mean to say what she did. She stands back up. “I guess if I’m inviting you in, i’ll introduce myself. I’m Enid.” She puts her hand out for yours. You look down at it and then back up at her. “Whatever offer it is you’re making me, I won’t take it.”
She scoffs and drops her hand, crossing her arms in an annoyed manner. “I used to be like you, you know. I didn’t want to join or trust new people in case I lost them. Alexandria…it’s different. it’s scary how normal it is, I get scared I’ll forget.” She explains. “That’s why I sneak out here. But there I get hot showers, lemonade…even movies.” She adds. You perk up at the mention of movies.
Movies were always special to you. So you gave in.
─── ⋆⋅ ꩜ ⋅⋆ ───
Enid was right, Alexandria was weird. The people were normal, not to mention ignorant to the outside. Most of them had been living there since the start. They didn’t know anything. You were interviewed which you were easily assigned to a house, you got a room in Olivia’s place where Enid was also staying.
She felt super protective of you, she’d come with you when she introduced you to everyone, including a guy named Ron. He caught your eye immediately, he was super good at making conversation with you. Although, Enid thought he was quite annoying, mostly due to the fact that he talked a lot but you liked that.
You thought you’d be annoyed with how outgoing he was, rather than being a pest he was more like a breath of fresh air. He made you realize how much you’d been missing out, how much of the old world you’d forgotten. Every time he asked you to hang out, Enid would smile at you teasingly, knowing he had the biggest crush on you.
One particular day, he had a plan to ask you out. He’d made everything perfect, just for you. He was able to find your favorite movie and snacks. He found a soft blanket he thought you’d like and he invited you over.
“Hey…” He approached you and Enid while you were sitting on the bench under the gazebo in Alexandria. Enid was writing in her journal and you were drawing. You both look up and you smile, Enid looks back down at her drawing. “Hi.”
He looked over at your sketchbook to see what you were drawing. “Is that…” he giggles, “Is that a fox?” You’re sort of embarrassed, you were never the most confident in your drawings but it made you happy. Some days when you were on your own in the woods you’d draw in the dirt, or when you found paper you’d draw on that too.
“Uhh yeah it’s a fox.” You look down at it and then back up at him with a smile. He just adores you, he thinks you’re so sweet and despite your differences, all he wanted to do was please you. So you like foxes, that’s something he already knew. He’d asked Enid about your favorite movie. “Some…fox movie? I dunno they nerded out about the director like it mattered anymore. Wes Anderson or something.” She told him.
The amount of digging Ron did to find Fantastic Mr. Fox for you was astounding. He asked everyone in Alexandria, knocked on every door, he’d even asked Aiden to try and find him one at the nearest RedBox kiosk. God knows how he would’ve gotten that shit out the machine but he ended up finding one at a Blockbuster instead.
Speaking of foxes…” he started, “I was thinkin you could come over again tonight to watch a movie. I just found a Fantastic Mr. Fox DVD…if that’s somethin you’re interested in.” He explains, knowing full well you’d agree. Which you did and it was evident that you were happy about it considering the look on your face. You were absolutely ecstatic, you’d watched the movie before the world died and most of the time it was all you ever thought about.
“R-really? Fantastic Mr. Fox? I love that movie!” The smile on your face felt so rewarding for him. He smiled at your excitement. “Yeah I found some uh..popcorn too.” You nod as he speaks, youve been sold since he mentioned the movie. “Yeah I’ll be over tonight.” You smile brightly. “Cool. It’s a date.”
Well that just slipped out of his mouth and he scolded himself in his brain for it. Was that too forward? “Yeah, it’s a date.” You reply.
Wait really?
He just smiled and nodded before walking back to his house, he had to mentally and physically prepare. You turn back to Enid and she’s giving you a taunting smile. “What?” You ask, she just shakes her head at you, believing you’re truly oblivious. “You know he means that, right? Like he actually thinks it’s a date.”
“Yeah. I know.”
─── ⋆⋅ ꩜ ⋅⋆ ───
That night you didn’t do anything special when getting ready, you did everything as normal. You expected your date to be normal as well. You’d liked Ron for a while, you were excited for what tonight would bring. You happily knock on his door and after a couple seconds of shuffling around he opens it to be greeted with your bright smile. “Hey. Come in.” He makes room for you to walk through the door and you make your way over to the couch where you guys always hung out. Alone that is.
You plop down on your usual spot and he sits next to you, hitting play on the movie. You’re immediately enamored by the film and get quite invested. Ron on the other hand was invested in you. He loved the way you loved. Everything about the way that you cared about the most beautiful things, only made you more beautiful in his eyes.
By the end of the night, he practically missed the entire movie. He made some sweet gestures, giving you the snacks you liked and snaking his hand into yours. He even walked you out. But he couldn’t say goodbye without doing one thing first.
“I really appreciate it, the movie. It really means alot.” You tell him, standing at his doorstep about to part ways. “Well, you mean a lot to me. I had to.” His fingers were still intertwined with yours, you could feel his hands tensing up. “Thank you.” You beam. He nods and can feel you pulling away to leave. Before you do, he pulls you back in, kissing you sweetly.
You can’t say you were surprised.
When you pulled away, he felt a sense of relief, finally getting the hard part out of the way. Now it was to find out whether or not you were okay with it. He tried to make it as simple as possible, a simple yes or no.
“So…I’ll see you tomorrow?” He waits patiently for your answer.
“Yeah, at the gazebo. It’s a date.”
a/n: tell me why this took me SO FUCKING LONG. AND ITS SO LONG. guys im distraught. i projected alot of myself into this fic for some reason, meaning my favorite movie is in fact fantastic mr fox i never stfu about it. anyway. one of my million gazillion fics to publish XP

HERE FOR YOU
warnings :: reader is struggling with self image, sucky ass ending i kinda didn’t know what to do with this
ron anderson x reader
you met ron when your group came to alexandria — rick’s group. he showed you and carl around, and he couldn’t help but be so interested in you. your comforting aura, surrounded by tough walls that refused to let the wrong people in. it intrigued him.
he wouldn’t leave you alone, not until you let your hesitance go and let him in. he eventually wormed himself a spot in your heart, becoming your best friend second to carl. when he thought the traumatic events you’d endured out of the walls were consuming you he’d distract you from the thoughts, taking you back to his house to play games or read comics.
it eventually grew to talking, he was able to have you open up more and learn why you were so on edge about this place and the people. you didn’t want to go soft. he’d always reassure you with little jokes about you being the most badass person he’s ever met, followed by pulling you into long hugs that began to last a little too long.
your heart was becoming too attached, and your insecurities grew and grew. he just loved talking about you, how cool you were; all the things you went through and learned. but you were forgetting, you were going soft, you were losing the likability you thought he had for you. the growing crush didn’t help with these feelings.
you tried distancing yourself, which proved to be hard since ron is a very persistent person. always wanting to know the why, the reasons.
he saw you on your porch one day, sitting on the top step carving your initials into the house you’d claimed. everyone knew it was you and carol who lived there, but just in case something happens, just in case you have to leave. you wanted to leave your mark on the place.
“how many dead ones have you gutted with that thing?” ron’s voice interrupts you, standing on the step below you. you look up and squint your eyes to see him through the blazing virginian sun behind him. you wet your lips and sigh, thinking back to the time you purely ran on survival mode. you’re afraid you couldn’t do that again if you tried.
ron takes in your expression, stepping up one and sitting down next to you. he places his hand on your knee, head turned to look at you despite your eyes avoiding his. “i’m sorry, should i not have brought that up?” when you don’t respond he continues, “it’s just… so cool and unimaginable what you’re able to do, you know?”
you laugh dryly, sticking your blade into your belt and giving him a sour smile. “is that all?” ron tilts his head in confusion at your sharp tone,
“did i do something?”
you sigh and turn to him, leaning against the railing of the steps. it takes everything in you to not blush at his naturally frown-y face that looks just a tad grumpier than usual. “no, it’s just… is that all that’s interesting about me?” ron furrows his brows and shakes his head, opening his mouth to speak. “i swear i’m losing the skills i once had and i’m worried you’ll just leave when i’m not so ‘cool’ anymore.”
there’s a beat of silence while he just looks at you incredulously, followed by a small chuckle. “one, everything about you is cool,” ron shifts so he’s face to face with you and grabs your hands. “two, is that so bad? that you’re forgetting some of your skills i mean… it’s safe here. you fought long enough, i find that amazing, but also this girl now that’s able to let go.”
you don’t say anything, shuffling so you can lay your head on his shoulder. you feel your cheeks heat up when he kisses the top of your head, “if anything happens, i’ve been training. i’m here for you.”

mesmerizing
carl grimes x fem!reader
summary : carl meets the fellow teens of alexandria - and god is one of them mesmerizing
takes place during : 5x12
warnings : none
word count : 455
“we're almost always here after school, so you can come by any time.” ron explained as he stepped into his room.
“you go to school?” carl gaped, surprised.
“it's in a garage - little kids go in the morning and then it's us in the afternoon. you'll probably go to school… right?”
“probably.”
“guys, this is carl - carl, this is mikey, enid, and you’ll meet the other girl later.“
“hey.” mikey smiled
“hi.” enid huffed
“you said other girl - who’s the other girl?”
“she’s too complex - gotta meet her on your own... anyways, both of the girls are from outside too - just came eight months ago.”
the brunette stood awkwardly, staring at enid who was reading the comics, “oh, uhm… is this yours?” he asked, pulling a comic out of his back pocket.
“sorry! we didn't know you guys got that house.” ron apologized quickly
“we mostly just hang out there and listen to music. that ones shared.” mikey laughed.
carl lightly handed the comic to enid, who just tossed it to the side.
"welcome to alexandria, loser." a voice smiled from behind carl, causing him to whip around.
the brunette looked up for a second, gaping at the girl who stood before him. she wasn’t tall, nor was she short. she had beautifully long eyelashes, and her hair perfectly fit her face. in one hand she held a few comic books, and in the other, her drink.
she was mesmerizing.
"its carl, isn't it? i've heard of you, you're from the new group right? the ones that tried to kill our people?" she laughed as she took off her headphones.
"we didn't mean to-"
"they always say that... so sad."
"i'm sorry... we just were scared."
"scared?"
"yeah. scared, 'cause your 'people' were following us."
"yeah, and now you're here. so don't complain or we'll kick y'all out."
"oh.. i never got your name- and i'm carl grimes by the way!" the boy announced as he noticed the girl turning around and taking her leave.
she knows your name already damnit carl.
"i know!" was all she replied with.
carl stopped for a moment, before realizing he should catch up to her. his people weren't actually gonna kill hers. they would never. "wait!" he called out, hoping to grasp her attention. in some world, maybe he did get her attention. but in this one? she kept walking.
pausing slightly, carl studied how the teen moved as she walked. her jeans clung tightly to her body, yet hung low as if baggy. and her crop-top seemed to be nearly too cropped as well, riding up against her skin as she walked. oh, she knew what she was doing.
god, she really was mesmerizing.

The Vow
Masterlist
A/N: I'M ALIVE!! (roll mushu clip from mulan) I'm back with a short Nix fic that's been in my wips for probably about a year now lol! It isn't my best work, but buckle up for some angst with fluff! Enjoy!
Summary: In a small Aldbourne café, romance blossoms, but is anything ever safe from the clutches of war?
Warnings: mentions of blood, pretty good angst w/ fluff
December 1944: Ardennes Forest, Belgium
"Nix. Nix, wake up," whispered Dick as he kneeled over the man's frozen foxhole. Nothing but a low groan could be heard from below.
Lewis pulled his thin blanket up to cover his exposed neck with a sigh. "5 more minutes, Dick."
"Lew. It's (y/n)."
Instantly, he shot up, wide awake. "Where is she? What happened?"
The redhead ran a hand down his face. "She and a few other men went on a patrol but wandered into the German line. Only one Dog company private made it out." Dick paused, watching Nix with a sad expression. "He says the last thing he saw was (y/n) going down as he ran."
It took a few seconds for the words to process in the intelligence officer's mind.
"Go down? What does that mean? Fall? Get shot? What does he mean, Dick?" He asked frantically, jumping out of the foxhole. "Where is this guy?"
"Speirs is talking to him in the CP now. Lew, if sh-"
"No," he interrupted, shaking his head. "No, don't finish that sentence. She's not gone until I see a body."
The sight of (y/n)’s cold lifeless body flashed in his mind, causing tears to blur his vision as he jogged to CP. He took no time to compose himself before tearing through the tent’s entrance. What he saw made him sick to his stomach. Ron’s private was sitting on a cot, a far-off look in his eyes as he whispered to the Lieutenant.
“We didn’t even know where we were, sir. Johnson, h-he fell in first, and then-,“ he stopped, squeezing his eyes closed.
Lew didn’t have time to waste.
“Then what happened?” He demanded, making the boy jump.
Winters grabbed his shoulder roughly. “Nix, calm down. Scaring him won’t make him talk any faster.”
Clenching his teeth, he crouched down in front of the private and calmly repeated his question.
“It was like we kicked a hornet’s nest, sir. They were everywhere. Johnson, Hart, Anderson, and Sechler were gone in-in seconds. (Y/l/n) and I were at the rear when it happened.”
At the mention of her name, Nix could feel his heart clenching in anticipation.
“(Y/l/n),” he asked shakily. “What happened to (y/l/n)?”
Gulping, the boy’s eyes dropped to the ground. “She told me to run while she covered me, so I did. When I got to the trees she wasn’t far behind me telling me to keep running.”
‘Selfless as always,’ Lew thought to himself. It was one of the things he loved and hated about (y/n) at the same time. He loved the way she cared for others but hated it in situations like the one they were in. (Y/n) (y/l/n) was a fearless leader who would happily lay down her life for those of her men. He prayed it wasn’t the case, but he had to know for sure.
“You saw her go down?” He questioned, fighting tears as he looked down. Ron and Dick shared a saddened glance at the sight of their broken friend.
“Yes, sir. Most of the fire had stopped, so I turned around, but when I did, a single shot rang out and she-she dropped.”
With that sentence, every thought in Lewis Nixon’s mind disappeared and was replaced with a burning rage his friends had never seen before. Before they could intervene, Nix had grabbed the Private by the collar and shoved him up against a nearby cabinet.
“And you just left her there?” He shouted, shoving the man again. “Coward!”
Speirs and Winters sprang into action, prying Nix off of the Private.
“Nix! Stop!” Dick cried. “She wouldn’t want you to act like this.”
Slowly, his thrashing stopped, and Winters let him go. He turned around to face his best friend and softly spoke.
“She can’t be gone, Dick. I refuse to believe she’s gone.”
In a rare show of affection, Dick pulled him into a hug. “I’m sorry, Lew, but we can’t go searching tonight.”
As if he’d been burned, Nix recoiled from his friend and started walking towards the tent entrance. “If you won’t look, I will.”
A hardened look appeared on the redhead's face.
“That’s an order, Nix. No searching tonight.”
Lew didn't acknowledge him as he exited the slight warmth of the tent into the frigid Ardennes. The bitter cold sank into each soldier's bones as they sat in their foxholes each day, and (y/n) had complained about it the day before. The thought of her laying forever cold among the snow turned his insides.
Bile rose to his throat and he hunched over next to a tree as he vomited what little food he had eaten that day. The tears he had been holding back flowed down his cheeks as he slowly made his way back to his foxhole.
Along the way, Luz and Perconte called out to him, but he didn't even hear them. He was too wrapped up in his head as his memories played. Memories of her.
November 1943
In a cozy corner of the café in Aldborne, England, Lewis Nixon took a deep breath. Breaking out in a small sweat, he approached Sergeant (y/n) (y/l/n), who was engrossed in a book.
"Hey there, Sergeant (y/l/n). Mind if I join you? I could use some company that doesn't involve bullets and explosions."
The woman looked up with a hint of amusement in her eyes, gesturing for him to sit.
"Well, Lieutenant..." She prompted, unsure of his name.
Extending his hand, Lew shot her his charming smile. "Nixon, Lewis Nixon."
She shook it with a smirk. "I suppose I can spare a few moments of my valuable reading time for you. But be warned, my standards for company are quite high."
With a playful glint in his eyes, Lew took a seat across from the woman.
"I'm up for the challenge, Sergeant," he chuckled. "Just don't expect me to bring you flowers or serenade you with a love song.
(Y/n)'s hand rose to her heart in mock disappointment. "Oh, what a shame! I was hoping for a romantic serenade right here in the café. Guess I'll have to settle for your delightful conversation."
And what a delight it was.
The more time they spent together between training and on nights out at the local pubs, it was harder for them to deny their attraction. Fraternization was strictly prohibited in the army, and neither wanted to face the consequences if they were ever found out. So they kept their feelings secret, but those around them could see the longing gazes and gentle touches the couple shared.
March 1944
The Aldbourne pub bustled with activity as the locals and soldiers from the nearby base filled the room with laughter and lively conversations. Amongst the crowd, Lew and (y/n) sat at a corner table, their camaraderie and unspoken connection apparent to anyone who cared to observe.
It was a typical Friday evening, and the atmosphere was relaxed. (Y/n)'s warm smile captivated those around her as she was engaged in an animated conversation with a group of soldiers who had become like family. Nix watched her, his gaze filled with admiration, knowing that her charm and kindness drew people in effortlessly.
As the evening progressed, a young man, dressed in civilian attire, entered the pub. His confident demeanor and charismatic presence immediately caught all the ladies' attention. He approached their table, flashing a charming smile.
"Evening, folks," the man greeted, his eyes lingering on (y/n). "Mind if I join you for a drink?"
Lew felt a pang of jealousy shoot through him, his grip on his glass tightening ever so slightly. He knew they weren't a couple, but the connection he shared with (y/n) ran deep. Seeing someone else vying for her attention ignited an unfamiliar sense of protectiveness within him.
(Y/n), always the warm and friendly soul, gestured for the man to take a seat. "Sure, have a seat. We don't mind some company."
As the stranger settled in, he engaged the (y/h/c) in conversation, his words laced with a flirtatious charm. Lewis listened with his jaw clenched as he struggled to suppress the swell of emotions stirring inside him. It seemed that everyone in the pub could sense the unspoken tension between him and (y/n), and their gazes shifted between the trio, observing the dynamics at play.
Unable to bear it any longer, Lew excused himself from the table, his heart pounding in his chest. He made his way to the bar and ordered a drink to calm his racing thoughts. It wasn't that he wanted to claim (y/n) as his own, but the thought of someone else stealing her attention stung him deeply.
As he leaned against the bar, lost in his own thoughts, a voice broke through his reverie. It was (y/n), her footsteps hesitant but determined.
"Lew, can we talk?" she asked softly, her eyes searching his face for any sign of understanding.
He turned to face her, trying to mask the emotions that had consumed him just moments ago. "Sure, (y/n/n). What's on your mind?"
She took a deep breath, her voice earnest. "I noticed you were uncomfortable back there. I want you to know that there's nothing between that man and me. You mean a lot to me, Lewis, and I wouldn't want anything to jeopardize our friendship."
He felt a mixture of relief and vulnerability wash over him. Reaching out, he gently placed a hand on (y/n)'s arm. "(Y/n/n), I trust you. It's not about not trusting you. It's just... seeing someone else vying for your attention made me realize how much you mean to me."
A flicker of surprise danced in the woman's eyes, her expression softening. "Lew... I feel the same way. But we can't, and you know why."
He sighed softly, eyes flickering to her lips momentarily. "I know, doll. It kills me every day."
"Me too, but I'd rather have you as my friend than not have you at all."
D-Day + 1, 1944
In the dense forest of Normandy, the pair found themselves separated after their harrowing jump on D-Day. The chaos of the jump had scattered them, and each of them carried a growing anxiety in their hearts until they could find the other.
Nixon, his mind racing with worry, fought his way through the dense underbrush, desperately searching for any sign of (y/n) amidst the fog of war. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her to the chaotic and treacherous landscape. The far-off sound of gunfire and explosions only fueled his determination to find her.
Her heart pounding with fear, (y/n) moved with urgency through the war-torn forest, her eyes scanning the surroundings for any glimpse of Nixon. The stress of navigating the dark forest made it difficult to focus, but she refused to let despair take hold. She knew that finding him was vital to her own survival, a beacon of hope amid the horrors around her.
As fate would have it, their paths finally converged in a small clearing. Hearing rustling in the trees ahead of her, (y/n) lowly whispered out the call sign.
"Flash!"
"Thunder."
The second she heard the voice, she knew it was him. When both stood up into the small clearing, relief washed over them. Their faces mirrored a mixture of anxiety and sheer joy, and in that instant, the weight they carried lifted, replaced by an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
"Lewis!" (Y/n) quietly called out, her voice filled with equal parts relief and emotion.
"(Y/n/n)!" He replied, his voice catching in his throat. Nix closed the distance between them, embracing her tightly.
"Thank God," Lew whispered, tightening his hold on her smaller frame. "I'm so glad you're okay."
They held each other, taking solace in the fact that they were together once more.
"I was worried I'd lost you," Nixon whispered, his voice trembling with vulnerability.
The (y/h/c)'s grip tightened, her voice filled with unshed tears. "I was so afraid, Lew. I couldn't bear the thought of not finding you."
Their eyes locked, and in that shared gaze, they found solace and understanding.
"Doll, I can't imagine going through this without you," Lewis confessed, his voice filled with a mixture of gratitude and love.
A small smile formed on (y/n)'s lips as she caressed his cheek gently. "Screw the rules, Lew."
With a shared understanding of what they were risking, they leaned in, lips meeting in a tender and desperate kiss. It carried the weight of their anxious hearts, the relief of being together again, and the realization that their love was a beacon of light amidst the darkness of war.
December 1944: Ardennes Forest, Belgium
Finally arriving at his foxhole, Lewis prepared to set out in search of (y/n). As he was quickly gathering his supplies, he heard a faint rustling in the underbrush behind him. Turning around, his heart leaped with a mix of anticipation and trepidation, only to find (y/n) stumbling weakly through the snow-covered trees.
The woman's uniform was torn and bloody and her face was marked with exhaustion and dirt. She looked up, her eyes meeting Nixon's with a mixture of relief and disbelief.
"And where exactly are you hurrying off to, soldier?" She weakly croaked.
Shock and joy coursed through Lewis' veins as he rushed to (y/n)'s side, barely able to comprehend that she was alive. When he reached her, it was like her body finally allowed itself to shut down after running on nothing but adrenaline for hours. She collapsed in his arms as her body went limp.
"Medic! We need help here!" Nixon shouted as he lowered them to the ground, the urgency in his voice echoing through the silent forest.
He cradled her head in his lap, his voice a steady reassurance as he urged her to stay awake between shouts for help. Remembering his little medical training from basic, he put pressure on her gunshot wound, which sat just below her collarbone along her right shoulder.
Panic gripped Nixon's heart as he called for a medic again, his voice trembling with desperation.
His arms trembled as he cradled (y/n)'s weakened body, his heart pounding in his chest. Fear and anguish mingled as he pleaded with her to stay conscious. "(Y/n/n), stay with me. Don't you dare give up. Help is coming."
The weight of her limp form pressed against him, and he could feel the life slipping away from her. His voice cracked with emotion as he whispered words of reassurance and love, hoping against hope that she would hear him, even in her weakened state.
"I'm here, doll. You're not alone. I love you," He murmured, his voice filled with tenderness and a profound sense of longing.
Minutes that felt like an eternity passed until finally, the distant sound of hurried footsteps broke through the eerie silence. Roe and Spina, along with Winters and Speirs had arrived, their faces etched with concern.
"Please, help her," Lewis implored, his voice thick with emotion as he stepped back, giving the medic room to work. Dick placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, overlooking his earlier outburst.
The medics immediately got to work, assessing her injuries with skilled hands. Nix watched anxiously, his heart in his throat. The words the medic spoke were a haze in his mind, a blur of technical jargon and medical terminology. However, he was fully aware that (y/n)'s condition was not a good one.
His eyes never left her face, the anguish etched across his features. As the medic worked tirelessly, Lew felt a mixture of helplessness and determination. He prayed fervently for her survival, his heart heavy with the weight of his love for her.
Time seemed to stretch infinitely, the world outside their desperate bubble fading away. She was stabilized and moved to the company's makeshift aid station, where Lew sat next to her. As much as he wanted to split the distance and take her hand, he knew they were not alone, and anyone could burst in at any moment. As hours passed, he began to lose hope.
As the morning sun cast a gentle glow through the canvas of the medical tent, (y/n)'s eyelids fluttered open, and her vision blurred at first. The scent of antiseptic mingled with the sounds of muffled footsteps and whispered conversations. Confusion and a dull ache permeated her body, reminding her of the ordeal she had endured.
Gradually, the fog of unconsciousness lifted, and her gaze focused on the figure sitting beside her bed, his eyes filled with a mixture of relief and exhaustion. It was Lewis, his face etched with worry lines and traces of dried tears. Roe and Spina excused themselves from the tent, knowing they were intruding on a private moment.
"Hi..." she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Are you okay?"
Tears welled up in Nixon's eyes as he leaned closer, his voice choked with emotion. "Am I okay? You're the one who got shot, doll."
A fragile smile graced (y/n)'s lips, and her hand reached out, seeking his touch. Without hesitation, he took it, gently running his thumb along the top of it.
"How are you feeling?"
Taking a deep breath, she looked down at her injured shoulder, which was now in a sling. "I feel like I got run over by a panzer."
A small laugh escaped his lips as he wiped a stray tear from his cheek. "I bet you do, sweetheart."
A few seconds passed before (y/n) broke the silence.
"I heard you, Lew... when I was drifting in and out of consciousness. You said... you loved me," She murmured, her gaze seeking solace in his eyes.
His heart swelled, voice raw with emotion. Nixon held her hand tightly, his voice trembling with sincerity. "I meant it, (y/n/n). I've loved you since that day in the café."
"Good," (y/n) chuckled. "Because I love you, too."
Tears welled in his eyes as he leaned in, pressing a tender kiss against her forehead. "I'm so thankful you're here."
"You were the reason I kept fighting to make it back. I was tempted to lay there and give up, but then I thought about you, and I knew I had to get up because I couldn't leave you alone."
His grip on her hand tightened as he brought it up to his lips. "You're right. I can't do any of this without you. I need you here with me."
With a mixture of urgency and tenderness, Lewis leaned closer, his lips gently capturing hers in a kiss that held the power to heal and ignite a fierce sense of hope. It was a kiss filled with unspoken words, a testament to the depth of their love and the strength that had carried them through the darkest times.
As their lips melded together, time seemed to stand still. The world around them faded into insignificance, leaving only the sensation of their touch and the beating of their hearts. It was a bittersweet blend of longing and relief, the taste of their shared triumph over the jaws of death.
Their kiss conveyed a profound sense of gratitude, each press of their lips conveying the unspoken message of "I'm here, I'm alive, and I'm with you." It was a silent pact; a promise to embrace life fully, treasure every stolen kiss, and navigate the uncertainties of the future side by side.
Finally, as their lips reluctantly parted, they remained locked in a gaze that spoke volumes, their eyes reflecting the depths of their emotions. Their foreheads gently touched, breaths mingling as they silently vowed to savor every moment, to cherish the fragile gift of life that had brought them back together.

13. All Smiles
"This is--" Carol said softly, with an air of ingenuine hesitance, "Well, there's no other word for it, this is terrifying. All of it."
Her eyes were wide as she spoke, looking around the living room where most of Alexandria's residents stood. By now, Hannah had been able to pick up on Carol's game, the act of innocence she had put on. Ever since their conversation about Pete, Hannah knew there was more to the woman than anyone knew. She didn't blame her though, it made sense to pretend. By acting as though she knew nothing, she ensured that she could know everything.
Rick and Deanna told everyone to meet at her house in order to discuss what to do about the horde of walkers. Hannah was always confused when they called the creatures walkers. She liked her word, roamers, but they were all saying the same thing in the end. Walkers. Roamers. Creatures. It didn't matter, because either way, they were all running from the same evil.
Hannah wasn't technically supposed to be at the meeting, it's not like she could have helped them, but after begging Deanna, she was allowed to listen in. Things like this had always interested Hannah, she wanted to know what it was like to lead. As Carol spoke, she noticed Carter, a taller, balding man, silently disagreeing with everything that was said.
"But it doesn't sound like there's any other way." Carol finished speaking.
Carter immediately spoke when the woman went silent, "Maybe there is." He seemed nervous to speak, "I mean, couldn't we just build up the weak spots? I--I could write up the plan. I worked on the wall with Reg." He glanced over to Deanna. "The construction crew-- We could all try to make it safe." He spoke with desperation in his voice.
"Even if we could, the sound of those walkers is drawing more and more every day." Rick cut him off, shaking his head, "Building up the exits can't change that."
The room was silent, no one quite sure who to listen to.
"We're gonna do what Rick says, the plan he's laid out." Deanna finally added, keeping her eyes glued to the window she stood in front of.
And so, they began to assemble a group of volunteers.
---
Part of the plan that Rick had come up with was to build a wall. Hannah, Carl, Enid, and Ron had all been dispersed throughout the area, only allowed to help with simple tasks. Hannah didn't necessarily mind the restriction, at least she was doing something. But, she could see in Carl's face that he wanted to be more helpful, he wanted to take action.
Hannah was helping to lean sheets of metal against their posts, readying them to be nailed in. She and Rosita carried a sheet from the truck, each one taking a different side. Hannah hadn't talked to Rosita much, but she had always been intrigued by the woman. She was so strong and so smart. She was fearless.
As the two carried the sheets, Hannah glanced toward Carl, who was helping another group dig up the dirt surrounding the new wall. She hadn't spoken to him since everything happened with his dad. She didn't want to overstep anything, so she decided to give him space. But as they worked, Hannah couldn't help but watch the boy. He was talking with Enid, both smiling at whatever they had said. Carl was so good at confusing Hannah. She couldn't tell what his feelings for Enid were. Did he like her? Did she like him? And how did that make Hannah feel? Hannah knew Ron and Enid were together, but what does it mean to date in the apocalypse?
She didn't want to think about it anymore.
Hannah turned back to her work. Rosita had left to help Maggie with something, so she was left on her own. Hannah really wanted to help the community, but she wasn't entirely sure how. Hannah guessed that working on the wall was good, but was it good enough?
"Hey, kid" A low, gruff voice spoke from behind Hannah. She turned, startled by the noise, to see Daryl standing across from her. He held a box of nails in his hand, his bow slung over his back. Hannah didn't know what to say. If being around Rosita made her nervous, she couldn't imagine having a conversation with Daryl.
Hannah knew the man wasn't dangerous, the was apparent early on. However, he would always intimidate her.
"Hi," she said.
"Uh, Rosita sent me over to see if ya'll needed some help with the wall."
"Oh, well I'm sure we could use it," Hannah told the man. She expected him to leave her, most likely going off to work with someone from his group. However, he dropped the box to the ground and began to pick up a sheet of metal. Hannah looked at him, silently asking what he was doing. Daryl didn't look at the girl, but simply said, "We gotta build this up higher, who knows if them things can climb."
Hannah and Daryl worked for about twenty minutes in comfortable silence. They had built up about six feet of the wall, moving over slowly as they went. Carol had come around, passing out small styrofoam cups of water to each of the workers. Once Hannah grabbed her drink, she immediately sat on the grass, leaning against the wall they had just put up. She was exhausted from the work, even if it didn't feel like enough. The sun had been out all day, unhindered by clouds. Hannah sipped the water, tasting the plastic materials from the cup swim over her tongue. The water wasn't cold, but she didn't expect it to be. It was simply refreshing.
Soon after she sat, Daryl slowly crouched to the ground. Hannah didn't say anything as he pulled off his bow, placing it to the side farthest from her. They both sat, quietly sipping their water.
"You nervous?" Daryl asked randomly. He didn't look at Hannah, only staring ahead of him as he spoke. Everyone in his group loved to do that.
"What do you mean?"
"Are you nervous about the horde? I know some of the other kids are." Hannah once again didn't know how to respond. Apparently everyone, Maggie, Carl, and now Daryl, thought she was incredibly weak.
"I mean, I guess," Hannah shrugged, "Are you?"
"I guess" Daryl copied her words. This took Hannah by surprise. How was Daryl, the man who walked around with a crossbow and a scowl, scared?
"Really?" Hannah asked, unable to stop herself.
"Yeah." Daryl turned to Hannah, who looked at him with confusion, "What? You don't think I could be scared?" Daryl laughed lightly.
"I don't know" Hannah laughed with him. " You guys are all just— well I don't know." Hannah thought for a moment, unsure of how to describe the group. Daryl stayed quiet, letting her figure out what to say. "I just can't imagine you scared"
"We all get scared sometimes"
---
Eventually, Hannah became much too tired to continue working on the wall, and although she insisted she could stay, Maggie wouldn't take no for an answer. As she packed up her things, Hannah looked around the lot, wondering who else was left. Carol had gone home about an hour ago, and Daryl had left to talk to Rick not long after. She also noticed that Carl had slipped away a while ago, leaving Enid to talk with Maggie.
Hannah made her way home, carrying a light sweater that she had brought to the sight in case it got cold. She was only walking for a couple of minutes before the wind began to pick up and she was forced to put on the sweater. It was a blue knit cardigan, something Aaron had brought back from a run. The heat from the sweater helped her stay warm, but she was excited to get home and into bed. Hannah passed by the Grimes' house, only glancing at it as she walked. On the porch, Hannah could see Carl sitting on the wooden bench, a baby tucked into his arms. Judith was wrapped in a fuzzy blue blanket, her head completely covered by the fabric.
Hannah stopped walking. It was the blanket she had given the family when they first came to Alexandria. Carl was using her blanket.
"Hey."
Hannah looked up to see Carl waving softly at her. She hadn't realized he could see her.
"Hi"
Carl watched her for a moment, and he seemed to be mulling something over in his mind.
"It's cold tonight," Was all he said.
Hannah nodded at the boy. In an act of courage, she moved closer to the porch, now leaning on the rail in front of Carl. He didn't seem to mind. Carl noticed her movement and slowly moved over on the bench, creating a space for her to sit.
Hannah smiled, climbing up the steps onto the porch.
When she sat down, Hannah noticed Judith stir in her sleep, most likely annoyed at the new movement. Hannah's body went stiff, hoping not to wake the baby.
"She really likes the blanket," Carl spoke, ignoring the movements from Judith.
"I'm glad," Hannah told him.
"The whole thing was pretty cool, the basket."
Hannah chuckled lightly, "Really?"
"Oh yeah, it's really the only reason we stayed," Carl over-exaggerated. He smiled at Hannah as he spoke, waiting for her to catch on.
Hannah laughed harder than she meant to, quickly quieting herself so as not to wake Judith. She watched her in Carl's hands, delighted by the way she was snuggled into the blue blanket.
"Well, I got one when I first got here, so, you know." Hannah trailed off.
Carl rocked slightly on the bench, his arm brushing slightly against Hannah's own. He was warm, Hannah noticed, and she could feel him even through her sweater. She was comfortable next to him.
"Thank you," Carl told Hannah, though he was looking at Judith.
"For what?" Hannah asked.
"Just for everything, I guess." Carl looked at Hannah now. His dark eyes were soft as they looked into hers and there was a wonderful cool breeze that rushed over the two of them.
"You don't need to say 'thank you'." Hannah spoke without looking away, "We're friends, that's what friends do"
Carl's smile grew and he looked down at Judith in his arms.
"I'm glad to have a friend here."
---
The next day, Hannah saw Carl talking to Gabriel. She didn't want to eavesdrop on their conversation, but she couldn't help but wonder why they would be talking, especially after everything that had happened. She watched for a moment as Carl pulled a machete off of a table next to them, moving it around as if to show Gabriel something. Hannah realized, Carl was showing Gabriel how to use it. He was helping him. The sight made Hannah smile. She watched Carl explain different movements with the weapon, and then, she saw him very carefully hand it to the man.
Hannah didn't like Gabriel, and yet she was happy about what Carl was doing. The only reason Gabriel said what he did was because he was scared. He is scared. But rather than continue to shun him, Carl decided to help him learn how not to be scared.
Hannah thought back to the night before. He was so kind to her, so happy. She almost laughed at how much he had changed, how they all had changed.
All of this reminded Hannah of her plan, her 'learn how to be strong' plan. The next step would be to actually learn, and there was only one person she trusted to teach her that.
"I want you to teach me how to use your bow," Hannah said to Daryl, her voice unwavering. They were standing by the fence, Daryl looking down at her with a blank stare, showing no sign of what his answer might be. Hannah had found him working by the fence and knew this was her chance.
"Why?" He asked curtly.
"I want to protect myself." Hannah continued, matching his tone. He seemed to think about her request, considering what it would mean for him. His face was still bare and Hannah shuffled back and forth on her feet, waiting for Daryl's answer.
She began to doubt her decision to ask. Sure they had talked at the wall, but that didn't make them friends. She let her eyes fall to the ground as she waited for the response.
"When I get back. When the horde is gone." Daryl said simply.
Hannah's head shot up. Daryl gave her a small yet genuine nod before walking away and Hannah smiled bigger than she had all day. She was going to learn to be strong.
---
Hannah needed to walk after her conversation with Daryl. She didn't know why, but she knew she needed to move. Hannah walked to the gazebo, then to the infirmary, and then back to the center of town. She was too happy to care how late it was. As Hannah walked, the sun began to set around her, leaving the sky a beautiful pinkish orange, speckled with smudges of purple.
As she finally reached her house, Hannah was met with a man. He was standing by her door, his back facing her. He was hunched and she couldn't see his face, but Hannah smiled, knowing it was Ron.
"What are you doing?" Hannah asked, walking up to the boy. It was odd for him to be here this late, but Hannah wasn't going to turn him away.
Ron quickly turned, as if he didn't expect her to be anywhere near her own home. When he fully turned, Hannah could see his face was pink and his cheeks were stained with tears. Quickly, she moved closer to him, her face turning concerned.
"Ron, what happened?" Hannah asked, "What are you doing?"
But Ron didn't look her in the eye.
"I saw you with Carl."
Hannah stopped.
"What?"
"I saw you talking to Carl earlier," Ron said it like it was obvious.
"Yeah?" Hannah still didn't understand what the boy meant. She stepped closer to him, reaching her arm out slightly. He moved back, pulling his arm out of reach. Hannah's face fell deeper.
Ron's eyes met hers, "How could you do that?"
"Do what, Ron? Me and Carl?" Ron said nothing, "We were talking about Judith, Ron."
"His dad killed my dad!" Ron screamed at her and Hannah could see the tears forming back in his eyes. She gasped and stepped back, stumbling on the step of her porch.
"Ron--" Hannah tried.
"No, Hannah, forget it. You don't get it."
"Ron, it's not Carl's fault. It's not anyone's fault." Hannah knew that was a lie.
Ron's nose flared and he looked away from Hannah. It was like he couldn't even look at her.
"Of course, you take his side," Ron mumbled.
"His side-- Ron!" she stepped closer again, "Pete was hurting you. He was hurting all of you!" Hannah snapped and Ron turned back to her. Hannah could feel her eyes become glossy, and she balled her fists, begging the tears not to fall. She had cried in front of Ron before, but never because of him.
Ron's face was hard as he spoke, "It doesn't matter."
"It does," She spoke softly.
Before Hannah could stop him, Ron left his spot on the porch, leaving her alone.
Hannah took in a deep breath, unable to comprehend what has just happened. She leaned against her door taking in shaky breaths.

Hiiiii Loveliesssss! omg I kinda love and hate this chapter, idk? But either way, it's definitely one of my longer chapters so yayy. I'm so happy with the Carl moment and I've literally been planning it for so long. I'm still kind of worried that Hannah and Ron's relationship might be coming off differently than I want but oh well. I'm also so happy we finally got a Daryl and Hannah scene!! If you couldn't tell I've been planning that too. I hope you all enjoyed!!
p.s I'm sorry this is coming out so late in the day I was busy watching The Last Vampire On Earth (You have to watch it it's so funny)
Thanks for Reading!

OKAY OKAY SO IVE SLACKED
I KNOW
BUT
I have a crap Ton of ideas and I want votes on what should come next :) As for part twos of what’s already out those will be out after I get a few more new ones out
I’ve got a note of like 15 ideas. So these are the three I’m most interested in doing right now. If yall have further questions about any of these feel free to ask.
Carl Grimes - love letters. In which Carl doesn’t know how to express his feelings verbally, so he resorts to a series of long, drawn out anonymous love letters detailing his feelings for y/n.
Fluff
Male reader
Daryl Dixon - we can be whatever you want us to be. Just don’t stop touching me. - in which Daryl is touch starved and scared y/n would leave him.
Fluff and angst
Female reader
Ron Anderson crushing on Sam’s babysitter. (Non apocalypse AU) - in which Ron cant speak properly when he comes home early from practice. Y/n has been babysitting Sam for awhile and Sam REALLY took a liking to her. She was a natural with kids and Sam tells Ron a lot about her. Ron didn’t believe the hype until he actually met her.
