The types of HolPol I can't get enough of 💕...in my head, at least.

1) canon Part 3 HolPol

The main ship. The sexual tension, the rivalry, the jealousy, the enemy-to-lovers trope...the only holpol version that I see them fighting and arguing in, before the lovemaking. It's dysfunctional yet perfect in every sense. I only wished they had more screen time together.

2) half canon Part 3.5 Hol (CDDH) x Part 5 Polnareff

I hc that CDDH Hol did meet up with Part 5 Pol...or at least pre-part 5 Pol before he rode a literal chariot. There's even an au I wholeheartedly supported - Hol joining La Squadra to eliminate the boss, thinking he had offed his beloved Pol, only to be reunited again after he shot Diavolo dead. Love this au because Pol lives ;v;♡

3) semi-canon post-Part 5 HolPol

This is the first au I came up with. Unlike the one above, Hol had lost Pol pre-Post 5 and went on a hunt for him, only to run into a group of thieves who infiltrated Passione (now led by Giorno) to steal the arrowhead. Things happened, Pol somehow had his turtle body transformed into a human (it's an OC's Stand power...I can elaborate if you're interested), and they both went on an adventure from Italy to Germany to get the arrowhead back. Not entirely a romantic HolPol story...I just want them to go on a JoJo-like adventure for once.

4) Steampunk/Post-apocalyptic AU (gunslinger Hol x swordsman Pol)

This came up on a whim. I didn't extend it much other than Hol was a hired gun who teamed up with engineer Avdol and their pet Iggy, going from one location to another for jobs. Meanwhile, Pol was on a mission to escort the priest Kakyoin to a city. They met, fought together, kiss, bed wrestle, so on and so forth...

5) Fantasy/Medieval AU (knight Pol x prince Hol)

This started with a mix of my own reading about tarot cards and some neat fanarts of Pol in an armour and Hol on a royal throne. Then my hands got itchy and I played with ChatGPT with this idea. The AI gave me a handful of short stories that eventually made me fell in love with this au. Somehow their love story also included Avdol as a royal advisor, Jotaro as another knight, and Dio as the enemy warlord.

6) Domestic/Modern AU HolPol

I know this is a boring au, but hear me out. Pol, a fashionista, socialite city boy, in love with Hol, a rugged, charming rancher from the mountains. Two different worlds, yet they made a cozy, loving household together. Boingo and Sherry would be supporting them a lot, if not join in their shenanigans. I will forever gush with this au, and anyone's interpretation of this au , for me, is hella valid.

This blog is primarily dedicated to sfw G/t content (G/t is short for Giant/tiny, which is any story with dramatic height differences between at least two characters, such as Gulliver's Travels, Thumbelina, The Borrowers, Paul Bunyan, etc.).

The World of Giantesses:

Different types of giant women inhabit different areas of the world, unbeknown to most humans (with exceptions). These groups include the Sky Titans and the Ocean Leviathans.

G4E:

The G4E is a squad of 10 ladies who are trying to get their super-hero business up and running (outside of work, they're besties :)). The population of those with super powers are relatively gynocentric (i.e., girls and women are most likely to have super powers, and the few non-female people who have powers are prone to having fewer and weaker abilities).

Plaid Final Girls:

Bunny, Butch, Boggle, and Ballast are four final girls in a semi-apocalyptic world where many live in fear of serial killers. They befriend each other and team up to hunt down killers and save civilians. These girlies started out as fun motivational stickers and have since developed into OCs. There are also other groups of final girls, though I haven't posted about them yet.

Lace Harding/Josephine Montilyet | G | 3001 words | No Archive Warnings Apply Author's Summary: When the Inquisitor asks how Skyhold is treating her, Harding can't help the smile on her face when she says, "Ambassador Montilyet sent me a basket of flowers." Mer's Rec: This one caught me up in Lace's sweet and fluffy personality from the start, and the author's grasp of Lace's voice and POV was so well done that I never saw the cute little twist coming at the end. The story captures many tiny details of Harding's position as the Inquisition's lead scout and beautifully contrasts her earnestness with Josephine's practiced poise. Their interactions make sense and flow seamlessly as the story progresses; it had me smiling and laughing like a dork the whole way through.

Girls Like Braids by Katuary

Female Cousland & Fergus Cousland | G | 1375 words | No Archive Warnings Apply Author's Summary: Elissa goes to her brother for help fixing the disaster she's wrought of her hair. He insists on hearing how the disaster happened in the first place Mer's Rec: Sibling Bias™️and bisexual panic - what more do I need to say? I'm such a sucker for genfic, and sibling fic in particular melts my heart. The relationship between Elissa and Fergus in this piece is beautifully crafted - from their teasing banter to the fact that Elissa ultimately trusts Fergus to help her when she needs it. The other thing that really struck me is how Katuary wrote Elissa's voice. Even though she's young, and her inner monologue reflects that, she never feels dumb or stupid or naive - she reads authentically as a young child and since I know how difficult that can be to capture in writing, I really loved seeing that portrayal in this story.

Cassandra Pentaghast/Male Trevelyan | T | 3443 words | No Archive Warnings Apply Author's Summary: The armory is unbearably loud and Cassandra goes off in search of somewhere else to work. Mer's Rec: This is a sweet moment in-between the canon for Cass/Trev and I loved how much is showed them as people beyond their jobs. That's something I often find omitted from stories about Cass, but it was really highlighted here to great success. The author also writes an established relationship incredibly well - the affection between Trevelyan and Cassandra is natural and (without giving too much away), the actions they take in the story feel authentic to a real romantic relationship.

Mer's Rec: what could have been in Absolution, if Dragon Age wasn't the series of Apostates Who Betray You ;-; This fic gives our cheese-farm gays their happy ending, and it also offers a brief but interesting perspective on the apocalyptic events of DAI from the common farmer they buy the land from! Happiness abounds, Hira and Miriam are just so in love, and we're all pretending the finale of Absolution never happened.

Female Inquisitor & Inquisition Scouts | G | 2914 words | No Archive Warnings Apply Author's Summary: The Herald is different, but that's a good thing. Members of the Inquisition interact with her and they feel seen. Mer's Rec: Told from the perspective of the Inquisition's scouts, this is a lovely look at what it's like to be in the rank-and-file of the organization, and how it feels to interact with the people at the head of it all. I loved how the awe and wonder in each interaction grew into feelings of personhood, both for the scouts and about the Inquisitor herself. The banter between the scouts and their personalities makes this story shine and (if you're like me) you'll have a good laugh at the surprise cameo toward the end!

Why is it rated 18+?

Various levels of violence, sex scenes, possibly sensitive topics, etc.

Will the sex scenes be mandatory?

No. You have the option to not see it at all, a fade to black, or the full version.

NOTE: There will be NO full versions of the sex scenes in the public versions.

How is the series formatted?

It's sectioned into 13 novella length books with 10 chapters each.

That means you'll read, on average, about 40k words each playthrough/read through, with each chapter having about 4k readable words.

This is equal to about 80 numbered pages if this were a physical book.

Each book will also follow the same plot outline as well, with the major event details and characters changing with each book.

What do you mean by "follow the same plot outline"?

Let's say there's a big plot relevant event that happens in Chapter 4. In this example, we're going to say it's a fight that forwards the plot along.

This important plot relevant fight will happen in every book in Chapter 4. The outcome, where the fight takes place, who it's against, what weapons/equipment are used, who's part of it on your side, etc will change with each book.

So, one book could have this fight be on an airship and the bad guys win. Another could have it as a sea battle and it's a draw while others could have it as like a city back-alley fight where the good guys win or could be fighting in a jungle where the "enemy" is the environment and not a person/people.

How many endings are there for each book?

One.

How many ROs are there?

There are 6 ROs in every book.

Will there be any poly routes?

Probably not, for the sake of keeping the word count low.

Will the ROs have romantic interests if MC doesn't romance them?

No.

Does MC have to romance someone?

No, but it is a romance story, so you probably should.

Where does the game take place?

Astelle (ah-stelle), a fictional post-apocalyptic fantasy world that's been torn into 13 pieces.

What are the general aesthetics of the world?

Fantasy meets Post-Apocalyptic meets Industrial Steampunk. The clothing and character names are all meant to be vaguely 1890s to 1910s sounding/inspired.

What are the sectors?

There are 12 sectors, or slices, of the world. They act like separate continents and countries. Each "represented" one of the Twelve.

Why do the sectors have two names?

Sector (number) is how each sector is officially addressed internationally. The sector name is what locals/people from there call their sector.

How does magic work in this world?

Magic used to be very common and abundant in the world. Ever since the Great Fracturing, however, and the Twelve disappeared, there hasn't been any magic since.

Who and/or what are the Twelve?

They're Gods/Primordial Forces that collaboratively worked together to create and "rule" over the world.

What are the Relics?

Relics are the objects that have a piece of a member of the Twelve's power stored inside. If wielded/held/kept/etc by that member's specific Warden, it grants the Warden with different fairly powerful abilities as well as the ability to communicate with that member of the Twelve directly. The Warden can also summon (read: politely ask) their member of the Twelve to earth with the Relic.

What are Wardens?

Wardens are people chosen by the Twelve to "represent" them on earth. If paired with their respective Relic, however, their abilities increase exponentially. They also gain the ability to talk and/or summon their respective member of the Twelve using the Relic.

Without the Relic, Wardens still possess abilities, but they are damped greatly. So if a Warden has the power to read minds if they have their Relic, without it, their ability is something similar to having really good intuition. Wardens can also speak with their member of the Twelve without the Relic, but it can only be in dreams and it's not a guarantee that the Warden will remember it when they wake up.

Note: It is impossible to summon a member of the Twelve without their Warden having their respective Relic

What are Guardians?

Guardians appeared 500 years after the Great Fracturing to protect Wardens as they tried to recover the lost Relics. These are people who are born with an innate intimate connection to their respective Warden.

Often times, they know instinctively where their Warden is, in terms of general location in the world. If the Warden is experiencing a particularly strong emotion or feeling, the Guardian can feel it as well. If the Warden and Guardian are fighting against an enemy, their movements are often in sync without needing prior discussion.

If a Warden and Guardian's relationship is very close, it's been said that the Warden and Guardian can see through each others eyes or even communicate telepathically.

The bond between a Warden and Guardian, however, is like a muscle. If it's not used regularly, it can atrophy and their connection is just like any other between people.

So sorry this is late but TRUE I agree. Old deviantart had so many comic creators and the platform genuinely felt like it was an art sharing website, but now it feels rather. hollow.

Stupidfox has a special place in my heart because it was a wordless cute comic (I guess "less is more" applies here), the creator once donated me dA points because I was such an active fan and made a few embarrassingly old fanarts haha, but I was a tween back then after all. I really wanted the stupidfox plush so so bad lmao

Romantically Apocalyptic was so oddly captivating to me back then because I'd never seen a webcomic like it, it really stands out with it's mixed media artstyle and surreal visuals and it almost like creeped me out. Now though.. I'm not sure if I fw it anymore since the creator uses AI?? So I feel really weird about it lol, but honestly I miss when dA had more wild webcomics to just find and read, it's like trying new food and seeing if you like it
