Lord Natsuka, being put to his place, Episode 17: King of the Underground

Though it pains me to see Lord Natsuka, conservative and arrogant, like this, Rokon dragging him like an unruly child, he’s quite out of touch when it comes to dealing with people whose position is not similar to his. He has not mingled with ordinary Yatagarasu nor carries the experience like his younger brother has, who obviously has seen a lot of things in the outside world and interacted with different kinds of people. Lord Natsuka has his personal guard to deal with them while he is at the court or at his temple.

I find it very funny how Sumio doesn't want anything to do with Rokon.

Figyelem a női rokonaimat és csodálom őket.

Anya, azt mondják a lány gyermekeknek apásaknak kéne lenni, de én jobban ragaszkodom hozzád, mint az apámhoz. Ha kell a világ összes súlyát cipeled a válláidon, és nem roppansz meg alatta, mindent próbálsz magad megoldani és sosem panaszkodsz semmiért. Ezt valószínűleg tőled örököltem.

Te pedig az anyukádtól, aki az én nagymamám. Ő sem panaszkodott soha semmiért, mert hiába tud maga mögött két alkoholista férjet, sosem mondott egyikről se egy rossz szót sem. Világ életében csak tűrt és nagyjából egy hónapja láttam úgy kiborulni, hogy szívet szorító egy látvány volt.

A másik lánya miatt borult ki, aki az én nagynéném. Őt is figyelem és 19 éve tűröm a "kedves" megszólalásait. Mindenki azt mondja, hogy hasonlítok rá. Na, de ő az a személy, akire nem akarok hasonlítani. Pedig megkaptam nem egyszer, hogy egy mozdulatom vagy egy megszólalásom teljesen olyan, mint ő. Kiskoromban rohadtul olyan akartam lenni, mint ő, de ez megváltozott.

A másik rokoni oldalról is erősek a női hozzátartozóim.

A nyolcvan éves apai nagymamám is túl van egy alkoholista férjen. Aztán az utóbbi időben rengeteg rossz dolog történt vele, mégis bírja. Néha elpityeredik, de többet nem mutat ki.

Apám testvére túl van a rákon, meggyógyult. Nincs nyoma a szervezetében jelen pillanatban rákos sejtnek. A haja elkezdett visszanőni és lassan visszatér a munkahelyére is.

Ezekért a dolgokért örülök jobban, ha a női rokonaimhoz hasonlítanak.

Natsuka was looking different in this scene. Not like himself in previous eps. And Rokon's reaction was priceless.

Natsuka eyes when he was talking to koumei mom were great. It is rare for an anime to pay so much attention to expression be it face or body language

And then the Empress, definitely scheming.

These two interludes are just here to remind us that there's other forces working, but I definitely watned to include the part with Natsuka and if I do that there's no point to not including the part with the Empress and Shoin.
