My guess is, he'll open up about Aiden and they will become closer. (This is way too soon in the story for some major twist to happen, but I'm still expecting one down the line... Don't disappoint me Iain and co.)

So, there’s a new Sugden arriving in August. This sounds so good and I’m very happy they’re remembering that the Sugden family actually exists!!

I'm genuinely starting to believe they'll have fauxbert kill someone by accident, lie about his role in it to Aaron and get him to help cover it up.

The horror I feel for this (non) story with this cardboard Sugden knows no bounds.

I don't know if there are any Buddie fans here who watched Emmerdale and was as hopelessly in love with Robron as I was, but if so, you will understand that I suffered Chris's farewell as much as Seb's💔

The fact that I don't know if Gavin, and therefore Chris, will return honestly devastates me, because I fear I will never be able to see the show and Buddie's relationship with the same eyes again. Among other things, I hate how the whole thing happened, what they did with Eddie's character, the interactions with Buck, yet another attempt at redemption for Eddie's parents (totally failed for me, in fact I hate them even more). There would be a lot to talk about and analyze, I think I'll do a more in-depth post (I've already started writing it actually, but I started crying halfway through and can't finish it😭)

Imagine though - this breast cancer story if Ryan wasn't a traitor and the surrogacy had gone ahead as planned.

They'd have a 4/5 yr old now who was biologically Aaron's.

That he could have passed the gene onto.

Especially since both his parents have/had cancer.

The drama, the angst!

Aaron feeling guilty and worrying about having the gene and having passed it down to their child. Rob reassuring him and telling him to just get tested and that they'll deal with a potential positive result if and when they have to.

aaron telling chas that the results of the gene test feel like a death sentence... what if he thinks he won't be around long enough to see robert go free... what if he thinks he won't be able to wait for robert because of the cancer... when waiting for robert was probably the only thing keeping him going after losing liv, and being there for his mum...

So apparently Emmerdale is going to be doing a breast cancer storyline with Chas soon (they just posted about it on instagram). I just feel like now more than ever is when Rob should come back. I know it all depends on if/when Ryan wants to come back but I’m hoping he will. After all Aaron has lost and all he’s been through and the state of mind he’s been in recently I really don’t want to see him go through the possibility of loosing his mom alone. Even with how contentious their relationship has become in recent times she’s still his mom and I know she still matters to him.

I just really want to see Rob come home and be there to support Aaron like he did during the abuse storyline and I know he’d support Chas too. I loved Rob and Chas’s relationship back in 2016/2017 and how she came to care about him and support Robron after everything that happened. I’d love to see them having scenes again. Manifesting Ryan coming back in 2024. 🙏

Long post ahead. Magazine spoilers and interviews about the arrival of John Sugden, with my thoughts as a Robron/Robert fan.

Ok, let's brace ourselves.

Pretty much all the magazines ran the same story and pictures of John's arrival, but InsideSoap went the extra mile, and put him and Aaron on the cover, and also was, I think, the only magazine to spell out the gay part so far.

There was also a joint interview with Isabel and Oliver, where InsideSoap almost seemed to insinuate that the Sugden/Dingle thing in itself wss a thing that made Robron take off with fans... which is a stretch. But it makes sense the show is hoping for that to be the case.

Oliver is then baited with the loaded question, and says he 'welcomes it' if the same fan response should happen with John/Aaron and Isabel says 'bring it on' 🙄

(Of course, you can't fabricate things like this, you have to let it evolve organically, which would never happen these days, on this show.)

At the same time Oliver tries to be coy about John's future romantic prospects, but there is only one gay man in the village... oh and yeah, like we established, the magazine already put them on the cover. Even if it was with a question mark.

Also, apparently Victoria adores him already and is determined to be a family with him right away. Because of course.

The only positive thing for me right now is it seems like Mackenzie might actually be the guy that is there for the broken down van, so fingers crossed the layby is safe.

Now, we do have some other interesting things going on as well. I don't want to read too much into it, but What'sOnTV kind if makes it sound like more Sugdens will follow. It's the same quotes as from the press event, but since they were present at said event, I'm hoping It's the vibe they were getting. And I hope they're correct.

Finally, things are happening with the haulage, the future of the business is up in the air. Which probably doesn't nean anything, but still had me go 👀, with this particular timing... There are a lot of reasons to bring Robert back, just saying. (Just don't tell me that's where John will be working in the future...)

Aaron is now the only gay man left in the village so it’s literally only a matter of time before he & Robert 2.0 get together….. I hate it here

I was perfectly aware that sooner or later Aaron would have a new love interest, I'm not stupid, I hate anyone who is no Robert regardless, but Robert's gay brother just no I really don't accept this, for me it's blasphemy
