Well, technically tomorrow 2 June, but I somehow finished this today.

I thought I'd have finished the Krang infection comic by now so I could have a happy birthday ending, but we're not there yet.

I uh never draw backgrounds or like to colour, but I love fully coloured pieces and well here we are. Trying my best to create something out of my comfort zone.

As a bday gift to myself I'm going to watch the new spiderverse tomorrow evening!

Brawl roster COMPLETE, nicklauerart the original person behind these designs did an outstanding job with them all, some of them I ended up adding little details in some of them, as for the one with grim, I made him carry a sea lard from adventure time and made it dress like me Saturn from the mother series 🌟, I’m now on the homestretch of it all and now have started on the smash 4 roster and I seriously can’t wait to show them all to you!

Too many Bionicle G3 concepts try to redo the whole tropical island setting, when I think it'd be much more interesting to explore the original concept of a living universe that is the body of a god. Like the island setting is cool and all but it's already been done twice. And as much as I love the Matoran Universe twist, I feel like it could've been executed in terms of worldbuilding a lot better; Most of the islands just feel like regular islands, there isn't really a sense of what each place or species contributes to the larger function of the body. And we only really get to look at Metru Nui and Karda Nui, the brain and heart, with every other year taking place outside of Mata Nui's body.

I think of the original concept art for the Matoran Universe as dark, technological caves, and think maybe we could do that AND have a bustling world of fleshy flora and fauna. We could have different lands representing different organs, like the lungs or liver for example. The duties of the Matoran and how they take care of the land could better reflect how they're looking after God's body, each job has a discernible function that is practically one-to-one with real life bodily processes. Let's bring back the original etymology behind the name Bionicle; Biological Chronicle.
