The name ask for Ana, please?
Anastasia is Greek for "resurrection." I partially chose the name (as well as the nickname Ana's family uses for her, "Anya") as a reference to the famous Russian Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov, who was my very first historical hyper-fixation as a kid after seeing Don Bluth's Anastasia and wanting to learn about the real person and her family. The other reason has to do more with Ana's middle and last name, which we'll get to in a minute.
Marian is a Hebrew name with many meanings -- "rebellious," "beloved," "grace," and even "star of the sea." I actually partially chose the name as a reference to @cursebreakerfarrier's HPMA character Robin Isherwood (get it? Robin Hood and Maid Marian? LOL), who ended up being close friends with Ana. The other reason, though, again, has to do with Ana's last name (I promise, it'll all come together in a second!).
Read means "red," which is one of Ana's house colors, since she's a Gryffindor, but this name was actually chosen as a reference to the infamous female pirate Mary Read, who is one of my favorite figures from one of my favorite historical periods to study, the Golden Age of Piracy! In fact, Ana's whole name references both Mary and her similarly infamous "partner-in-crime" Anne Bonny -- "Anastasia Marian Read." As an icing on that cake, Ana's mother is even named Bonnie!
Send me an OC and I’ll explain how/why I chose their name!

🖊️ + Anastasia “Ana” Read [ellie-e-marcovitz 😊]
🖊 Anastasia Read
Ana funnily enough is my only straight MC (most of the others are on the ace spectrum, like I am), but she is a very active Ally for the LGBT+ community, not only because of her older stepbrother Jasper and her BFF Robin Isherwood @cursebreakerfarrier both being part of the community, but also because Ana is a very emotional and noble-minded Gryffindor who passionately follows in the footsteps of her stepfather Bradley in being an activist for marginalized groups. Ana frequently attends LGBT+ pride get-togethers and civil rights rallies, as well as protests advocating for reforms to the Statute of Secrecy and equal rights for Squibs, werewolves, vampires, and hags.
Send me a “🖊+an OC,“ and I will talk about that OC!

Tortall Fancast Series - Beka Cooper
Beka is five feet eight inches (5'8") tall, muscular, and slender. She has light blue-grey eyes that are unsettling when she glares. Mostly people dislike her eyes and Dale Rowan once even described them as "ghost-eyes". However, Hansevor Remy once compared her eyes to moonstones. She has dark blond hair which she tight-braids from the crown of her head and braids a spiked strap into so as to surprise opponents who try to grab her hair in a fight. Beka's hands are callused from regular baton work and also show several scars from knife-wounds.
Normally she wears breeches and a tunic, even in daytime when she isn't on watch. On duty, in the Magistrate's Court and on other official events she wears her uniform, which consists of a black tunic with breeches and boots of the same color. In her year as a Puppy a white trim is sewn to the hems to show her status as a trainee. Seldom Beka wears a dress like when she visits her brothers and sisters at Provost's house or when she plays the role of a loose Dog on the investigation concerning the false coins. At that occasion she was described by several men as being pretty, but didn't like it very much because she had the impression that people who call her pretty don't think that she can do good work as a Dog. (x)
Beka is 15 when her series starts and 19 when it ends.
RACHELLE HENRY - MODEL
Rachelle Henry is a model who has done several photoshoots, some of them in medieval and renaissance clothing. The pictures above were taken when she was 14. Although the armor is more appropriate for a knight than for a Dog, it’s still within the realm of what Beka wears in dangerous situations.
RUBY O’LEARY - GYDA (VIKINGS)
I can’t find an exact age for Ruby O’Leary, but her character on Vikings is 14, so I feel comfortable placing her in the appropriate range for pre-series or Terrier Beka. She frequently wears her hair in braids. Viking costume design, obviously.
FRANCESCA ISHERWOOD - FLAVIA (ROMAN MYSTERIES)
At 16, Francesca is the perfect age for Beka, although she’s a little further from Beka’s aesthetic than many other fancasts. She primarily wears Roman tunics and dresses, which potentially fit Beka off-duty. Mostly I like her as a fancast because she’s got a similar bit-between-her-teeth energy to Beka’s.
LEELEE SOBIESKI - JOAN OF ARC (JOAN OF ARC)
Leelee Sobieski was also 16 when filming this movie. Again, she’s “knight” more than “guardswoman,” but oh well. Her face is very similar to what I picture for Beka, and she matches her energy really well. I usually use her (with short hair) for Kel, but she makes a good Beka too.
FREYA ALLAN - CIRI (THE WITCHER)
At 18-19, Freya is more appropriate for late-series Beka. Mostly I chose her because she has Beka’s striking blue eyes. Medieval costume design throughout, and look, it looks like for Season 2 she’s got some good medieval fighting gear!
TIERNA SKOVBYE - ROBIN/MARGOT (ONCE UPON A TIME)
At 22-23 during filming, Tierna Skovbye is technically a little old for Beka, but her face is almost exactly what I picture. She wears more browns than blacks in her fairytale scenes, but otherwise her clothing is also a decent fit for Beka, particularly while tracking the prince in Bloodhound.
Well, now we’ve got all our heroines done! As usual, the full series can be found here, and I’m always happy for requests and/or additions!

HPMA Profile - Annika Xue
A lot of people are doing this, and I don’t even know when the game is gonna release worldwide. But anyway, I’ll hop on the bandwagon.
Template by @hogwartsmysterystory
IDENTITY
Name: Annika Zhuo-Yin Xue
Gender: Female
Birth Date: January 21, year TBD
Species: Human
Blood Status: Muggleborn
Sexuality: Hetero
Alignment: Neutral Good
Ethnicity: Chinese
Nationality: Chinese
Residence: Changchun, China
Myer Briggs Personality Type: ISFP
THE MAGE
Wand: Maple with phoenix feather core, 10.5 inches, pliant
I have often found that those chosen by maple wands are by nature travellers and explorers; they are not stay-at-home wands, and prefer ambition in their witch or wizard, otherwise their magic grows heavy and lacklustre. Fresh challenges and regular changes of scene cause this wand to literally shine, burnishing itself as it grows, with its partner, in ability and status. This is a beautiful and desirable wood, and wand quality maple has been among the most costly for centuries. Possession of a maple wand has long been a mark of status, because of its reputation as the wand of high achievers.
Animagus: N/A
Misc Magical Abilities: N/A as of now
Boggart Form: Annika’s Boggart is almost completely impossible to see, but it bubbles on the ground to the point where she could sink forever into the depths. She’s scared of sinking into quicksand in the midst of rainy weather, losing her footing until the earth swallows her whole.
Riddikulus Form: In the Riddikulus form, the Boggart would turn into a bunch of confetti on the floor, with more confetti raining down on her.
Amortentia: Annika would smell like raspberries, mint, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, and...popcorn?
Amortentia: What does she smell? Currently unknown.
Patronus: If Annika were to produce a Patronus, her form would be a field mouse.
Patronus Memory: Her Patronus memory would be of the day she took the flying motorbike ride with Hagrid. It was the first real taste of freedom she had, after all--and the first time she realized how much she loved to fly.
Mirror of Erised: In the Mirror of Erised, Annika would see herself as a successful inventor, with goggles on and her tools at the ready. Whatever it was she was inventing in her reflection, she would never know, but the image held so much use to her. Magical engineering has always been her dream.
Specialized/Favourite Spells: Wingardium Leviosa is her favourite. She loved to see things fly. She also likes to use Stupefy in a duel, Reparo on her books, Aguamenti just because, and Ascendio to feel that rush of flight without a broom.
APPEARANCE
Faceclaim: Zheng Shuang
Voiceclaim: Stephanie Hsu
Height: 5’4”
Weight: She errs on the lighter side of the average weight of girls her age, but she’s not completely frail.
Physique: Slender and willowy
Eye Colour: dark brown
Hair Colour: black
Skin Tone: pale
Body Modifications: Pierced ears--Annika wears studded earrings (her favourite ones are the snowflake ones, by the way).
Scarring: N/A
Inventory: Annika always carries a few things from home and more if she needs them in a pinch. Some of the things she’d bring because of obvious reasons are three quills, two ink pots, several rolls of empty parchment, a box of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, a locket with a picture of her family on their farm, a calligraphy brush, her Ravenclaw scarf, and a small wrench.
Fashion: Annika’s actually very prim and proper when it comes to clothing, but she knows casual just as well. She loves wearing colourful pull-over sweaters in the fall, paired with jeans and black and white sneakers; in the winter it’s a sheep wool coat of a brown colour made from her family’s farm, with jeans and a pair of warm black boots; in the spring and summer it’s a t-shirt with a skirt and sandals. No, there’s no need to name colours here. After she made the Quidditch team, she could also be seen wearing her sports sweater once in a while.
ALLEGIANCES
Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw
Affiliations/Organizations: Ravenclaw House, Hogwarts; Ravenclaw Quidditch team; TBD
Professions: Self-employed Inventor. She eventually founded a company of her own that geared toward incorporating magic in everyday Muggle items--safely, of course--and it flourished through the years.

Father: Frank Xue
Frank is an accomplished farmer who worked the land with his own parents throughout his life. After he got his degree in agriculture and economics, he settled down on his own plot of land and continued to work on his crops.
Mother: Isla Xue (nee Zheng)
Isla was born a city girl, but eventually went with Frank to the country after she finished her degree in fine arts. She was raised with several siblings and so knew how to handle a family when the time came for it. She was kind but usually stern whenever someone stepped a toe out of line.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Pre Hogwarts:
Annika was born and raised in Changchun on her family’s farm. A Muggleborn with big dreams, she would often be found chasing butterflies and dragonflies around on the farm at a younger age.
When she grew older she began to help around with minor fixes to make the family’s life much easier--repairing leaks, sewing tears in blankets, screwing on loose bolts, those kinds of things.
She didn’t realize she had magical powers until she was 9 years old, when she made things float on her own will. This scared her.
It wasn’t until Mahoutokoro first sent her a letter that she knew she was a born witch. Hogwarts’ letter followed swiftly after, however, and she was torn between which to go to until Hagrid actually burst into her home telling her all about Hogwarts.
1st Year:
Annika was Sorted into Ravenclaw in her first year.
Annika actually was considered to be Seeker for the team but she declined the offer.
2nd Year:
Annika makes the Ravenclaw team as Seeker after a fair tryout.
3rd Year: TBD
4th Year: TBD
5th Year: TBD
6th Year: TBD
7th Year: TBD
Post-Hogwarts:
Following her graduation, she began to work on inventing things at home, and two years later began to open her own magical engineering company.
PERSONALITY
Annika is flighty and high spirited. Enthusiastic around friends, she is actually quite shy when one first meets her, though.
She has a big compassionate heart and is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She doesn’t flaunt her intelligence as much as everyone expected her to. In fact, she keeps them to herself and only performs when needed.
Whenever trouble arises, she tries not to get involved. If it involves her friends, though, don’t be surprised to see her with a trick up her sleeve.

WHAT: A full out attack on NOVA’s Headquarters in Star City.
WHO: Deathstroke & Robin
WHEN: September 13th, 2020.
Slade: Slade had planned all of this out with Damian. They both had their reasons. Their inclinations. Dick was the largest motivator for both, unsurprisingly. For Slade, he was the only motivator. There was no other reason for him to care about NOVA and, up until this point, he hadn't. No one had ever taken out a contract. The money hadn't been there. That was the surest way to get Slade to give a shit. That was, until they put a bullet in his little bird's head and Slade had had to figure out for himself--as no one had bothered to call him--that Dick was in the hospital. He'd sat there for four days. He wasn't doing it again.
He'd suited up with more guns and weapons than even he usually carried, his body a veritable arsenal as he met with Damian at the drop point. As the teen approached, Slade looked at him through the mask. "Hey kid," he said simply before getting right to business. They didn’t have time to fuck around.
"This is the map." With a few clicks to a console on his arm, a blue holo of the facility appeared in front of him. "The contact I bought out said we have entrance points here--" he pointed, "and here to get to the security hubs. We'll cut those and then it'll give us free access. Emergency lockdown will keep them all in and everyone else out for a while. Standard military procedure, but idiotic in some ways."
Glancing to the other, he shrugged a bag off of his shoulders. "We'll plant these explosives along vulnerable points of the building, indicated here, here, and here." From his belt, he drew an ear insert. "This is a comm. Two-way only. We're the only ones on the encrypted frequency. With me so far?"
Damian: Damian's progress with the lowlife criminals had run cold and it wasn't until his confrontation with Jason that he realized he was going about it the wrong way. He'd taken some time, possibly to give himself any opportunity to calm down, but the more he had seen Dick during that period, the more the only thing he could picture was him lying in that hospital bed and his anger just surged again. So he had eagerly awaited the chance to meet up with Slade and work up an actual plan. He had arrived on the dot, taking precautionary measures with his attire -- protective kevlar of his Robin suit covered beneath the layers of his less protective League attire. In his hand was the new sword Slade had gifted him for his birthday. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to christen it.
He listened as Slade brought up a map of the complex and explained the information he had obtained from his informant. His eyes trailed to the bag of explosives and he gave a small nod of confirmation when Slade pulled the comm device from his belt, taking it and slipping it into his ear and readjusting his face mask. He was quiet for a moment as his mind raced. This was really happening. After this, there wasn't going to be any denying the things he'd done or how far he had fallen thanks to the desire to see Dick's attackers suffer. He shook his head quickly and brought himself back to reality. No time for idle thoughts. "Yeah, I understand. The military protocol should buy us plenty of time to mop the place up and get the explosives planted where we need." He responded simply. "Which points do you want me to work towards?" He asked, staring at the blueprint of the building to commit it to memory.
Slade: "We'll go in hard and fast, then split off to cover the west and east sides. I don't intend to leave many people alive. It's about a message to be sent. They need to understand that there are consequences to who they fuck with." When they fucked with the wrong people, they needed to have it explained to them. Loud and clear. "You good with that?"
He noted the weapon Damian had equipped and gave an approving nod. "You have a chance to practice with it yet?" he asked.
Damian: Damian gave a small nod. "More than good with it. I wasn't planning on holding back." He stated icily before fidgeting his hood enough to reveal the red of his suit beneath the layers of leather and cloth. "It'll take more than their handguns to get in the way." He remarked. At Slade's question, he looked at the sword and gave it a couple of loose swings. "I practiced with it a little bit after I opened it. The Nth metal reactions with my body took a bit to get used to - but I'm a quick study." Damian answered simply. All in all, the sword was nothing but a weapon of benefits. Of course, he had made sure to practice with it enough to not be caught off guard by his quicker movements or stronger swings; but not so extensively that he would forget his own ability and start relying on the sword to compensate. He was smarter than that. "Thank you, by the way." He added and looked at the man.
Slade: "I figured you would be," he stated.
"I had the material lying around and didn't think it would be right to waste the alloy. I haven't been wearing that suit in a long time." The Ikon suit was too good. Unless someone showed up with an identical one, he was set. He could take a hit from Superman without even flinching. That was what it was designed for, after all. And he still hadn't heard from Isherwood. There was no way that the other Ikon suit would show up. Why should it? "Glad it suits. I always thought, with the right weapons, you'd be fucking lethal." Now he was going to find out. "Let's see some of your mom's training come out. It's what I suspect you're really made for, kid. Not that I can decide what you are for you. None of 'em can."
He pushed to his full height, nearly a foot taller than Damian. "You have something on the suit that can support the map? Or are you just filing away what you can?" He wanted to figure out how much he was going to need to feed to him over the comm so he could plug that into his logistics.
Damian: The comments about his lethality were met with a silence. Damian wasn't exactly sure how he wanted to respond to those remarks just yet, and so he opted to give yet another quiet and small nod of his head. It wasn't just his mother's tutelage that he would be drawing out that evening. No, his Father may have taught him to adhere to a Code but he still provided vital hand-to-hand and hand-eye exercises between him and his siblings. When Slade rose to his full height, Damian straightened his posture. "I won't need the map. It's just a single building and the layout was pretty simplistic. It wasn't too hard to lock the information away for the mission." Damian stated and looked at Slade. Though his face mask covered the smirk, it showed in his emerald eyes. "I take after my Father's intelligence, after all."
Slade: "Basic human intelligence. Congratulations," he answered sarcastically. Though Slade did respect Damian's tactical mind. He'd managed to turn Slade around on a mission once before he bought him out. He would have lost just like his father would have, but he wasn't above doing what was necessary. That he also respected.
"Any other questions? Any comments, requests, concerns?"
Damian: Cracking his neck, Damian shook his head. "None. Let's get this mission started so we can get out of here." He responded and put his gaze forward, pushing all other thoughts from his head and focusing solely on what needed to be done and what they needed to accomplish.
Slade: "Heard," he agreed before stepping back and nodding to the site. "You remember your entrance? When you get in, there'll be a panel on your side. You'll need to crack into it and pull the fuses before you trash the whole thing. That'll compromise security. I'll do the same on my side and they'll start the lockdown. From there we'll converge on the main hallway. Good?"
Damian: "Understood." Damian remarked, already maneuvering little by little towards the building - branching away from his path and veering to one side of the complex where his entrance would be found. He pressed the earpiece in his head, making sure it was activated and ready to go. "They're going to regret ever making Dick their target..." He muttered out.
Slade: "That's the idea," he agreed into the comm before he made his way stealthily to the entrance. It wouldn't do to be caught before they even made it inside. Slade had a message he wanted to send. Several, if he was honest. He didn't, therefore, want to deal with any interruptions before they got inside. So he fitted a silencer over his gun before waiting to pop the first person guarding the door and then didn't hesitate on the second. No alarms tripped as he reached down to swipe the ID badge off one and made his way inside. "You in?"
Damian: Damian was a little less refined in his entrance than Slade, but his former training and all of the exercises in subtlety that Bruce and Dick had given him over the years allowed him to descend upon the guards at his entrance before they were even aware he was there - silencing them with a few quick swipes of his blade across their throats and abdomens before swiping the ID card from one of the bodies and slipping inside. "Inside. Accessing panel now." Damian responded after a short moment - working open the metal cover to the panel and looking over the fuses inside.
Slade: Slade nodded, accessing the one on his side. "On my count, we'll cut the power at the same time. Ready?" As Damian confirmed that he was, Slade did a countdown from 5 before cutting the fuses and then trashing the panel altogether. "Meet me in the main corridor. And remember kid... it's about a message. Christen that blade."
Damian: With the panels trashed and systems fried, the pair were free to enact their vengeance. It was nothing less than the sort; no righteous assault; nothing but unadulterated vengeance for the attempted murder of someone they both deeply cared for in their own way. Damian didn't respond to Slade's orders - he knew what needed to be done and what to do. He didn't need to be reminded about that. His mind had already shut itself off from any doubtful lines of thinking. So when Damian came barreling into the main halls of the building on his way to the main corridor, he did so with a flurry of brutal attacks. Exchanging blows with the men and women that attempted to accost him; taking several punches and kicks before wrenching himself free from their grasps and introducing them to the cold steel of his blade. It was a macabre dance of violence that left several hands severed at the wrist and forearm, and deep stab wounds through throats and chests. Damian brushed aside the pain he felt as the Nth metal of his sword worked to patch up bruising and gashes from the blows he received as he forced his way deeper towards the main corridor.
Slade: Slade left behind a similar trail of gore and morbid display of his professionalism. He had been doing this a long time and he didn't even flinch behind the mask as he took out every person who got in his path. His healing factor wasn't affected by gunshots, but they couldn't reach him anyway thanks to the proficiency of the Ikon suit in protecting him from projectile force. He and Damian Wayne together were a raze of devastation and that much was obvious as they met in the center, blood of the fallen staining their clothing and weapons.
They ended up essentially back to back, giving Slade the opportunity to observe the baby bat as he moved. He had grown up skilled, which still carried through this entire process. Slade approved and found himself thinking about what a shame it was that Damian had been remanded to a life as Robin when he could have been so much more with the right encouragement. He was every inch Talia's kid and Slade appreciated it in droves. Bruce Wayne did not, even if he had been perfectly fine putting it to Damian's mother. Not that Slade blamed him. But if Damian had been his child, things would be very different for him.
Once they had taken out the first wave, Slade wasn't even breathing heavy as he looked to Damian with some approval. "They'll send more people. But we need to start laying the explosives. Work our way through the building. I'll take the west and you take the east?"
Damian: Damian, unlike Slade, was panting ever so slightly when the pair finally met up. Though his sword's abnormal properties were a blessing for injuries, they seemed to work a little slower on recovering his expended stamina. He had a few blood stains around his exposed brow behind his face mask and hood, but the gash that caused them was mostly patched up. "East side. Affirmitive; I've got the locations memorized on where to place the primers and charges." He agreed with a nod as he sheathed the sword onto his back and adjusted the bag of explosives to be at the ready. "Rendezvous afterwards or do we make separate exits?" He asked for clarification.
Slade: "Shoot for a rendezvous, but keep your comm open. Be ready for more death. Every one is for Dick, though." He shook his head, looking around quickly. His danger sense was going off in droves and his heightened hearing could pick up orders being barked down the hall. "It'll be a tough go. They're rallying. If you need backup, tell me. Don't be a fucking hero about it." Dick would see Slade dead if Damian got hurt. "If we need to split, I'll let you know. I'm gunning for Nabel if she's here. If she's not, then I'll find her." He glanced to Damian. "Don't get killed."
Damian: With the explosives more readily at hand, Damian once again drew his blade from its sheath at Slade's ominous warnings. He trusted Slade, for better or for worse, and if the man said there were more on their way, he believed him - even if he himself couldn't hear anything from where they were right now. "I don't plan on dying anytime soon." Damian remarked before giving the man a nod and darting off to the eastern hallways that branched away from the main corridor. Greeting the wave of reinforcements on his end head-on, he engaged them with the same viciousness as he had the first wave - keeping his movements tight and cautious in order to protect the explosives from any sort of damage in the scuffles.

Alternate love interest for Ana, please?
Oh gosh!! That would be really difficult, honestly -- Ana is my only straight MC, and she doesn't really have that many male friends aside from Charlie Copper @drinkyoursoupbitch (who's her canon love interest) and her BFF Robin Isherwood @cursebreakerfarrier (who's taken, and honestly, I love those two as BFFs exclusively rather than as love interests anyway 😅)...
Maybe a canon character? Teddy Lupin ends up starting at Hogwarts in 2009, one year after HPMA is supposed to be set (I think?)...maybe that'd work! I always headcanoned Teddy as a sweet punk Hufflepuff like his mum, so he'd be an appropriately bright, resilient ray of sunshine to soften up my Strong and Silent Gryffindor Gal the way Charlie does in her canon. She would probably be silently fascinated with his Metamorphagus abilities bc WTH, this boy changes his hair color like a bloody mood ring?? 😂

trying to settle on a nom de bookblr/potential booktuber and i’m stuck between 1) auden, 2) isherwood, and 3) greenwood. i lean towards isherwood just because it’s been my dream name for a while, but i love greenwood for it including my fav color and the robin hood connotations, and i love auden for the simplicity and the fact that i’m more emotionally involved with wh auden's work as a whole than with isherwood’s. so like.........if YOU were checking out a book blog or a booktube account, which would hook you
#remember when you could ask questions and let tumblr like. have a poll for you#that was nice#collinchat#the only strike against auden is that it doesn't have a double letter in there which is like. kind of a Thing i have about named i use#but auden has a more gender neutral feel about it too#like any name ending with 'wood' i naturally associate with more masculine personalities#i want a blank slate name....you feel#auden is so pretty. i might have to go with auden. but also ISHERWOOD

I was tagged by @thelibraryiscool (Happy birthday!) to make a list of ten books I’m planning to read this year, so here we go
1. The Brothers Karamazov, Fyodor Dostoevsky
I actually just started that one, and I wanted to read it first because it was time I read some Dostoevsky, second because of this czech/polish movie: Karamazovi (2008)
2. Princess of Dorsa, Eliza Andrews
I mean, it’s queer fantasy
3. Diaries + The Trial, Franz Kafka
Yeah it’s cliché but I cannot spend an entire semester in Prague and not read Kafka, that would feel sacrilegious
4. Assassin’s Quest, Robin Hobb
I wanted to read Hobb’s books since I was what, 9? and I finally started reading them last year, I do love her writing and I have to finish the Farseer Trilogy so I can move on to the rest
5. A Vindication of the Rights of Women, Mary Wollstonecraft
I need to read more of her work, after reading Mary and The Wrongs of Woman and loving her writing and the way she expresses her opinions.
(Thank you again Allie for the book, this is one of the most thoughtful things anyone has done for me and also yes, you should read it)
6. American Gods, Neil Gaiman
I was planning to read it before the show started airing, but now s2 is over and I have yet to read the book (and then watch the series)
7. The Awakening, Kate Chopin
One of my friends recommended me to read Kate Chopin, and they were right to
8. Aru Shah and the End of Time, Roshani Chokshi
This book seems very cute + mythology so of course I have to read it
9. Mr Norris Changes Train, Christopher Isherwood
What would I be without my friends and especially @thelibraryiscool literary recommendations. I read Goodbye to Berlin last year, have to read Mr Norris Changes Train this year
10. Métaphysique des tubes (The Character of Rain), Amélie Nothomb
I had this one for a while now and will definitely read it when I’m back home this summer
tagging @gabideservesbetter @poerfect @smile-dance-breathe @fieryfangirl (only if you want to obviously!)

LGBTQ+ Book List
I work in a library, and I’m pretty good at finding LGBT+ books. My boyfriend @another-broken-heart-cafe , who works with me, has also found quite a few. I finally decided to make an organized list of those and any others I could think of for anyone who’s looking for these kinds of books. I’ve sorted them the best I can and separated them to make what you want as easy to find as possible. There is an adult category, a teen/YA category, and a child category. I’ve read a few of these, but not many, so there’s probably going to be mistakes. I looked up every individual book to organize them the best I could (which took a while because this list currently has 140 books, if I counted correctly). If you find a mistake, just let me know and I’ll fix it in the next update. I plan to make updates occasionally as I find more. Feel free to add on any LGBT+ books you want!

Haworth's hotshots seek win number five
Non-league Football Preview
STALYBRIDGE CELTIC travel to Warrington Town tomorrow (Saturday) looking for their fifth League win in a row — a feat they last achieved in 2011.
Five victories from their last six matches — in which they have scored 16 goals and twice racked up five — have seen Celtic climb from the bottom four to the fringe of the Pitching-in NPL premier division play-offs.
Manager Simon Haworth is still without long-term injury victims Grant Shenton (knee), Stephen Brogan (hamstring) and Kieran Wells (ankle) but welcomes midfielder Callum Harris back to the squad after he missed the midweek trip to Lincolnshire.
The main question is over who will play in goal. The Football League have ruled out an extension of keeper Liam Isherwood's loan from Accrington as their rules state a player cannot return to a parent club for a League Cup tie and then subsequently return to their loan club.
Mike Clegg must be hoping Tuesday's 4-1 Manchester Premier Cup win at Chadderton has injected some much-needed confidence in his ASHTON UNITED side who have slipped to the bottom of the table with only one league victory to their credit in 11 league games.
The Robins head for Gainsborough without midfielder Sam Sheridan who is out long-term having torn a calf muscle. Clegg commented: "He came back too early and it went again. We miss him badly."
Nathan Ntula is the only other absentee from the Robins squad.
It's been a day of departures at HYDE UNITED. Janni Lipka has gone as a result of his continuing injury problems, Tom Morris and Liam Hardy have left quoting difficulties with travel, and Theo Bailey-Jones has decided to accept an approach from Stafford Rangers. Central defender James Jones has returned to Alfreton having completed his loan.
Manager Jim Gannon reacted quickly by bringing in attacking midfielder Jack Dyche from Curzon Ashton on a dual-registration. Youth team striker Aidan Butterworth has moved up to the first team after scoring freely in FA Youth Cup ties along with Hamid Addai, who was originally signed from the club's academy 2019-20 but never got this chance because of covid.
Gannon has also registered left-sided defender Ciaran Summers who has played at Stirling Albion and Stenhousemuir.
For tomorrow's home clash with Lancaster, Jason Akiotu and Jonah Mitchell (ankle) are both sidelined.
In the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy, GLOSSOP NORTH END find themselves visiting the club of the moment, Marske United, who brushed aside Chester in midweek.
The Yorkshiremen were so impressive in their 4-0 FA Cup third qualifying round replay victory at the Deva Stadium that they prompted a brutally frank post-match assessment from humbled Chester co-boss Anthony Johnson.
Glossop manager Stuart Mellish, who was at the game, described Marske as the best side he had seen in ten years at this level.
However, the return of star striker Jamie Rainford, who scored 49 goals for the Hillmen in 2015-17, could provide the spark to reignite their season.
Will Hartshorne faces a late fitness test.
MOSSLEY, who are licking their wounds after a 3-0 defeat by Warrington Rylands ended the winning run that took them to the top of the NPL first division west, could be without three players for their home clash with Ossett United who are fourth in the first division east.
Antony Brown is back on the injured list and Dale Latham and Jack Bannister are both doubts. However, Kane Hickman came through training and is available.
Ben Lowe has signed for Chadderton but the Lilywhites have retained his NPL registration.
Winning sides receive £2,250 while losers get £575.
In National League North it's a question of whether CURZON ASHTON can continue the impressive run in which they've lost only one match all season and have won their last six.
Tomorrow they cross the Pennines to visit Farsley, who have lost their last three games, but Nash boss Steve Cunningham believes they will prove much tougher opponents than their league placing suggests.
He said: "They're struggling a little bit and there are lots of reasons for that, but sooner or later they are going to win a game of football. We've got to make sure it's not tomorrow.
"On paper, we're the team in form but they've strengthened and made three signings. I suppose they've got to bed in but I see Farsley as a team like ourselves and I'm expecting a tough game.
"We've got to stick to our values, keep working hard, and as I keep on saying, not get too giddy."
Cunningham says the squad is looking good although he admits to having one or two knocks.
As for drawing Chesterfield in the FA Cup, he added: "When the draw's made you either want the lowest-ranked club or one of the big boys at home. We've got that in Chesterfield. In fact it feels more like a first-round tie.
"We're looking forward to it and it'll be a great test for the lads. But at the moment the big game for me is at Farsley."
