you got together through steve harrington. i do not make the rules. he would hear the phone ring from his best friends at 2 in the morning, and both of you would start talking about each other for hours, and robin would always end with "alright, but don't tell her, steve or i swear to god-"

he played intermediary for months listening to the hopeless mutual pining between you two, and the day you finally got together officially, he seemed more hyped up than both of you combined

all three of you are best friends i do not make the rules this is canon i am literally robin's scoops hat i can confirm

robin also canonically enjoys reading + learning new languages, so after hearing about your passion for writing oh my GOSH she got so hyped up hello?? she will hype up and read your writing to whatever extent you'd like + learn phrases in new languages and tell you them from time to time !! robin has a whole bunch of interests that she loves to talk about (ex: dantes inferno from rebel robin AHHH I LOVE REBEL ROBIN)

the fall vibes are far too real between you two. i'm. listen. LISTEN. while robin isn't a big fan of long hikes, with you, conversation feels like the easiest thing in the world-- she never feels like she's talking too much because you can assure her that you enjoy listening, but she will always always make sure that you are heard. if your voice ends up getting ignored during a discussion, she will hands-down be the very first to tell everyone to "SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO RIVER" and listen to you talk for hours on end

even though robin has a tendency to be pessimistic, she will always bring herself to limit it and choose to see the bright side, especially around you. robin similarly doesn't enjoy dealing with tricky situations and enjoys seeing the middle ground, but when necessary, she isn't afraid to speak her mind when she knows it counts

not only does your dynamic fit "lazy saturday mornings," you particularly value "cozy friday evenings [6pm-2am]" in which you both draw/write/talk together whenever necessary :-)

whenever robin senses something is wrong, she doesn't hesitate to ask you-- she won't go directly to you right away, but if she notices you look too overwhelmed in a crowd, or your smile isn't meeting her eyes, or maybe even your social battery is running out, she'll silently take your hand and squeeze, and look at you with the softest eyes, like you're her entire world and nothing else matters (and you definitely are)

-> you two were the last people to realize you were dating. steve, ever the intermediary, had worked hard to ensure that you both got together, but had to try so hard to not just scream into oblivion, because oh my gOSH one of you has to start saying something?? he pulls his hair out because it is so obvious because robin looks at you like you're the literal sun, and he wants nothing more than to find a way to forcibly put you two together. when you both finally realize that you had technically been in love the entire time and were never just "friends," everything clicked, and to harrington's relief, you two got together. robin was beyond ecstatic to know she got to be accompanied by someone like you <33

oh my gosh from the looks of it george stares at you like you're the sun and he is the moon like . he constantly reflects your brightness and it's so sweet and so genuine that lucy literally throws up every time she sees it

when i tell you THIS MAN is willing to fill in that awkward silence or bring headphones in loud areas or think of the best distractions of all time HE IS RIGHT THERE

he's beyond impressed by your writing/drawing skills and loves when you doodle/write song lyrics/words on the thinking cloth, nothing makes him happier than seeing that you're passionate about something

WILL SET TIME TO JUST . have tea and biscuits together even if it's like mid-crime scene and that is just something only he would do for you

expect him to struggle with finding time to spend with you that isn't related to a case; his head is full of every possibility and worrying thought that it "cancels out" sometimes, so with each opportunity he gets, he is so so willing to spend it with you

-> it wasn't george's idea for you to spend the night in his room after a long day of research, it was mostly because there happened to be a not-so-great storm, and all the lights along the street shut down. that also meant the heaters stopped working, and a world without heaters was not a world he could bear to live in. hugs and warmth ensue with cups of (lukewarm) tea.

that picture of noah with the little will cosplayer and the little girl with amybeth and maya are so adorable. it's really surreal to see little kids be fans of canonically queer characters, taking pictures with the actors and dressing up.

while lots of older people have issues with these characters' identities and can only focus on that, these kids still see them for who they are. they still see them as anyone else on that show and don't focus on their identity the way the homophobes do. and some may even resonate with them :( you can immediately tell these kids are filled with so much love and compassion

idk i'm not sure how to put it into words but god. it warms my heart to finally be able to see more of this. not only is st gonna be something for older queer people, but even far younger people. literally as young as 8 years old. thats wild

I need some sort of AU where Steve and Robin both have working gaydar, but like for each other. Steve has no idea which guys might be gay, especially if they're into him, but he can tell which girl is gay at a hundred paces and if they could be into Robin, he can spot them a mile off.

Robin is the same, but reversed. They joke it's because they accidentally mixed up their gaydar that day in the mall bathroom but they each accidentally took the wrong half when they left to follow Dustin and Erica.

This is why Steve is so confident about Vickie and Robin can't believe him. It's also why Steve thinks Robin is messing with him for months because there's no way Eddie's into him.

One of my favorite things about the steddie fics I've read is that pretty much every single one of them that's from Steve's perspective will have at least one time where Steve thinks like, a fact or something, and it's immediately followed by "Robin said" or "Robin told him"

I just love that we all unanimously agree that Robin is Steve's source of education and news, like everything he knows about world events ties into her yapping at him about something.

Steve snaps a little polaroid of his ass and stashes it into Eddie’s room when he leaves the town for a couple of days with Robin to look at her college.

He hears from Eddie the same night, cursing over how Wayne almost found it when he was cleaning Eddie’s beer cans and how he’s about to lose his mind and come fuck Steve right now even if it meant he’d have to drive six hours to him.

Steve just smirks into the phone, being proud of himself that his boyfriend is gonna be miserably horny for the next three days.

”I really don’t wanna know.” Robin side eyes him from the other bed and it makes Steve laugh while Eddie still rants to him from the other side of the line.

”Oh you think this is funny, huh? You little shit now you’re asking for it! Maybe when you get back I won’t fuck you, is that what you want?”

That makes Steve snort.

”Pleaaase, like you’d be able to hold yourself back. If I recall you said something about wanting to just live with your dick buried inside my ass forever—”

”Ew! No no no no NO! Stop!” Robin yells and Steve feels a little bad for her so he says his goodbyes in the most sweetest tone and hangs up to a whining Eddie.

”You are the worst.”

Steve: Eddie and I are dating.

Dustin, Nancy, Robin and Eddie: *Gasp*

Steve: Eddie, why are you surprised?

“I don’t think I’m straight.”

Steve had reached that conclusion exactly ten seconds before saying it out loud. Laying upside down on the couch of his house with his best friend draping her legs on top of him.

“Is that what you were thinking about?” Robin asked, not lifting her eyes from her book.

“Yeah, it just makes sense.”

“Do you want to talk about it?”

Steve hummed thoughtfully. Did he want to talk about it? Was it important enough? Did it change anything?

“I feel the same,” he said. “I thought being gay would feel different.” For a second, Steve was sure Robin would tell him that was a stupid thing to think.

“Are you gay?” Robin asked instead, because she is Robin. She was able to ask something in a judgemental tone without being judgy.

“I'm not straight.” he repeated.

“Pretty sure there are more than two options.” She explained with a joking tone. It was lucky, she thought, that she found a zine hidden in a library when she visited her aunt in Indianapolis.

“How do I know what I am?”

“I don't know, actually,” she said, putting her book down. “I've never seen what the big deal with men is.” Robin explained, crossing her arms. “That's how I knew.”

“I definitely see the big deal with women,” Steve responded simply.

“What about men?”

“I think I always saw the big deal, I just pretended it did not exist.” Steve explained.

“Oh, sweet old denial.” She teased. “How do you feel about this?”

“I would feel better if I had better taste.” Steve deadpanned, causing Robin to laugh and kick him. He slid out of the sofa dramatically to the floor. “Kicking me while I'm most vulnerable, Buckley? I see your game.”

“I have been bidding my time to find your weak spot, Harrington.” Robin joked lightly, jabbing Steve’s legs with her foot. “You will fall, Steven!”

Steve retaliated by pulling her into the floor.

“Look who's falling now?”

“Whatever,” Robin pushed herself to sit upward, sitting on the floor with her back against the sofa. Steve mimicked her with his back against the coffee table. “Who is the guy?” she asked.

“I don't wanna tell you,” Steve whispered, more out of respect for their tradition than anything else. “You’ll make fun of me.”

“Of course I will,” she whispered back. Steve reached for her hand to intertwine their fingers and she held him without batting an eye. “That’s kinda my job as your soulmate.” Steve chuckled. “I have to make sure whoever it is doesn’t mess up our vibe, you know?” He didn’t.

“I’m sure he won’t."

"Are you really gonna make me guess?" Steve lit up at the suggestion. Before he could speak, Robin continued "I'm not gonna guess, just tell me."

"Are you afraid of getting it wrong and looking like a fool?" He teased.

"It's Eddie." She answered less than a second later.

Steve did not respond, shocked at her quick response.

"Who's the fool now, Steve?" The smile on her face was infectious to Steve, who poker her with his foot.

"How did you do that?"

"By having eyes."

"What do you think?" She closed her eyes and hummed as Steve waited for her response.

"I think he looks at you the same way you look at him."

"I should ask him out."

"I can be your wingman!" She exclaimed.

"Oh, my god, yes!"

"We have to make a plan," Robin yelled. She jumped to her feet, letting go of Steve's hand, and dashed up the stairs. "I'm going to get some paper."

Steve stayed behind, sitting more comfortably on the floor, and removing the magazines they had on the coffee table off.

They made a plan, that ended in more of a disaster which is a story for another time. There is only one thing that is important.

Eddie said yes.
