hi, I want you to know that "living in a lunar spell" lives fully rent free in my head.
so much so that I either dreamed or hallucinated that chapter 6 had been uploaded a couple days ago. I was fully convinced it actually happened lol
then when I went to go read it just now I was severely disappointed to find that it was a figment of my imagination lmao
Okay this is actually so sweet I wanna cry 🥹
But then I want to cry for you cause chapter 6 still isn't done 😬 I had a bad cocktail of writers block, procrastination, busy real life, and writing for two holiday exchanges that got in the way of my plan to post one chapter a week.
All I can promise at this point is that I'm working on it, and it'll get posted as soon as it's done!
For now, here's a long snippet of a scene I first jotted down the idea for months ago. Our boy Dustin is home from camp!!
👐💌🦇 🍦
“Again, Batty? Really?” Dustin says with the most sour-puss judgmental expression on his stupid little face. “Yeah? So what, dude, I didn’t know what to call him! That seemed like the simplest thing.” Steve adds, looking pointedly at Robin. “Rather than giving him an actual name like a pet, or something.” Robin doesn’t need to know that he already considers Batty his pet and he’s not planning on getting rid of him any time soon. Dustin sends him a flat look, “Steve, come on, literally anything else would be better.” “I’m inclined to agree with our weird little friend here,” Robin interjects. “You really couldn’t do better, Harrington?” Steve throws his arms up, “I’ve never had to name a pet before, sue me!” He points at Dustin, “This is rich coming from a kid with a cat called Mews…oh wait, it’s Tews now, isn’t it? How original.” Dustin glares at him, “Don’t speak ill of the dead, Steven. And my mom named them, do you want me to tell my mom that you don’t like what she named her cats? I think she’d be less inclined to have you over for dinner again.” “Alright, alright, pulling out the big guns.” Steve says, raising his hands in surrender. “What about D’Art though? What in the hell kind of name is that, Henderson?” “What about it? D’Artagnan is a perfectly respectable name,” defends Dustin, voice going squeaky. “Where the heck did you pick that up? It’s nonsense,” snipes Steve. “D'Artagnan is the protagonist in The Three Musketeers,” Robin answers matter-of-factly, and Dustin gestures to her. “See! Common knowledge, not my fault you’ve never read a book in your life.” “Hey!” Steve protests. He knows Dustin is being a little shit, that he doesn’t really mean it like that cause he doesn’t know that Steve struggles with reading and has always been kind of sensitive about it. Steve pinches the bridge of his nose and takes a breath, “Fine, we can rename Batty…how about,” he snaps, “Henderson what were those little teddy bear guys from Star Wars called? He’s cute like one of those.” “They’re called Ewoks. Seriously Steve, do you not pay attention? And how many times do I have to tell you that it’s Episode VI: Return of the Jedi,” Dustin snarks, continuing to try Steve’s patience. The attitude of this kid, Jeez. “Fine, so we’ll call him Ewok then.” Robin snorts, “Ewok is their race, not their actual name.” “Fine! You two pick a name then!” Steve says, exasperated it’s easier to just let them have their way sometimes. Batty is his and he’ll call him whatever he wants when they’re alone anyway.
Hope that holds you over Anon, and takes away the sting of Chapter 6 not being done yet!
👋 also hi, hello, if you're reading this and you're new here and want to read the fic you can find Chapters 1-5 available on ao3 here:

Robin has a love-hate relationship with Steve-and-Eddie. Love, because those are her best friends and her best friends are in love with each other and they never leave her out of anything. Hate, because sometimes she wishes they would because she keeps accidentally third-wheeling herself.
She doesn't hate it that much though, if she's honest. It's just fun to complain, especially because it riles the both of them up.
But right now, she's being quiet so she can witness one of her secretly-favorite Steve-and-Eddie rituals—of which there are many, but this one is silly and endearing.
It starts like this:
The waitress sets down their drinks, lemonade for Robin, coca-cola for Steve, and a cherry soda for Eddie.
"Don't you dare," Eddie says, even as Steve reaches for Eddie's drink, slipping his straw in next to Eddie's and slurping obnoxiously. Eddie doesn't even pretend to stop him anymore. "Unbelievable."
"I just want to taste it!"
"You could just get a whole glass of it! All for yourself!!"
"It's too sweet, I don't want a whole glass."
"What, so you think you can just help yourself to mine?"
Steve's grin is far too smug, even for Robin, even when Steve slides it to her so she can take a sip. Steve is right, it is really too sweet and she wrinkles her nose, but it's worth it for the offended gasp Eddie makes when she slides it back to him.
The diner is their favorite, because everyone who works there has given up on understanding their weird dynamic: Robin and Steve squished into on side of the booth while Eddie's spread out on the other, Robin making gagging noises whenever Steve brushes against her, even though they never sit in any other configuration. The staff has long since stopped asking which of them was her boyfriend, and that's perfect for her.
Besides, she knows that under the table, Steve and Eddie have their ankles locked together like the disgusting love-sick dorks that they are.
The Steve-and-Eddie show continues when their meals come out. Chicken fingers and fries for Steve because he's an actual child, and breakfast for dinner for Eddie because he likes to be contrary. And then the real performance begins.
They "fight" over the ketchup bottle, which really means that Eddie picks it up and Steve snatches it out of his hands—only for Steve to spread it over Eddie's scrambled eggs (gross) for him before he adds a disgusting amount to his own basket.
Eddie makes a game of stealing Steve's fries when he thinks he isn't looking (Steve is, he's tallying each one up in his head, Robin knows this because she's doing it too), and when he finally "catches" Eddie in the act, he steals Eddie's last piece of bacon—the one that's sat untouched for the last five minutes for this very reason.
Then, Eddie's "forcing" Steve to try his grits, like he does every time, and game eats a spoonful of it, every time, and then complains at length how much he hates it (and he actually does hate it, the texture is just not for him, Robin knows because it's the same for her too).
And then they do the worst, most disgusting thing ever: they split the pancake in half. Without fail. Without argument. Every time.
Robin, slurping on her strawberry milk shake that she will NEVER share with anyone ever, thinks that stupid pancake is like the symbol of their love or something. Sh's sure if they weren't in public, they'd be feeding it to each other.
"What?" They say it in unison, and Robin hates when they do that to her.
(Eddie complains about it right back at her, because she and Steve do the same thing to him all the time. They should blame Steve, since he's the common denominator, but he just looks so pleased about them both that they can't rag on him for it, so Eddie remains Robin's sworn enemy and vice versa.)
"What what?" she sneers at them, voice quiet. "You two are disgusting, it's like you're making out right in front of me right now."
"What are you, homophobic?" Eddie hisses back, just as quiet. "I'm in love with your best friend, Buckley. I'm making out with him in front of you for the rest of your life."
"Ugh! I hate you so much."
"Right back at you."
And then they start kicking at each other beneath the table, no doubt catching Steve's ankles in the crossfire. He doesn't tell them to stop though, and Robin can see that pleased, sappy smile on his stupid face out of the corner of her eye, so she lands an exceptionally harsh blow to Eddie's shin in retaliation for making her best friend so happy. He digs his heel into her toes in return.

hi for the writing prompt ask? could you do steddie + 3 or 97 you pick!
(love your writing sm 💕)
thank you sm!!! <3 i did both bc i have no self control
dialogue asks
3. “What the hell is that and why are you wearing it?” 97. “I definitely wasn’t hanging around here hoping to bump into you or anything...” (i changed this one a bit to fit the dialogue more)
Eddie heard a rumour.
Steve Harrington works at Starcourt.
Everybody thought he’d be off to college, Stanford or some other college too expensive for Eddie to even consider applying to. (Not that any of them could possibly accept him in the first place.)
It’s summertime. Gareth is in San Antonio visiting his grandparents, and Jeff is in Chicago visiting his dad, and Paul is in Michigan for some reason. (Eddie can’t remember.) And Eddie is beginning to go a little crazy stuck in his room with nothing to do (he supposes he could study his schoolwork from last year, but… Ew.), and the air conditioner in the trailer isn’t very good, and he thinks he might melt.
So he goes to Starcourt.
With no ulterior motives, obviously. It’s just hot. And Starcourt is nice and cool inside, and he doesn’t get bored at all, wandering and browsing, and definitely not scanning every store he passes looking for pretty brown hair.
He hasn’t seen Steve anywhere. Not that it matters, because he’s not there for him. Obviously. He’s there to look in the music store, at records that he can’t afford right now and posters he’s like to put on his ceiling. He’s there to sit by the fountain and listen to the water and people watch, and ignore the people that are eyeing him like he stole something. (Which he didn’t. Not today, at least.)
He lets his eyes wander as he sits by the fountain. The sound of it drowns out the noise of the people talking and laughing and shouting, the noise of rubber shoe soles squeaking on the brand new tile floor and the humming of the escalators and the buzzing of the lights. Some girls are finding their places sitting around the fountain, near him. They’re all licking ice cream cones.
“Hey,” Eddie says, leaning toward the girl sitting at the top. She seems to be the group leader.
“What?” she says bluntly, looking him up and down very obviously. He tries not to laugh.
“How much was that?” he asks, nodding toward her ice cream.
“A dollar twenty-five.”
“Oh.”
“But,” she adds, and her friends giggle. “Scoops company policy says you can have as many tastes as you want, so basically that’s unlimited ice cream.” She holds up a finger to make her point. “Loophole.”
He stares at her blankly for a moment before he snorts.
“You’re clever.”
“Yes, I am,” she says, a dismissal, and he turned away with a nod. He reaches into his pocket to find his change, counting the coins and thinking hard.
Fuck it.
“Watch my bag?” he asks the girl, and shrugs in a Sure, whatever gesture.
He hops up and heads toward Scoops, pausing to let some kids pass him before he freezes in the entrance of it.
Because holy fucking shit.
There he is.
Steve fucking Harrington, in all his glory, wearing a cute little sailor costume with a cap on his head. He’s talking to a red-headed girl, looking bored and fed up, and he has to know her, because there’s no way he can talk to a regular customer like that. She’s laughing when she walks away, running to catch up with her friends, and Steve’s eyes follow her, half-smiling and shaking his head fondly before his eyes meet Eddie’s.
His face turns pink, and Eddie grins as he crosses the shop, approaching him.
“Munson,” Steve greets. Eddie looks him up and down, peering over the counter to see his long legs, and the horrific shorts he’s wearing. Eddie loves it.
“What the hell is that,” he says slowly, looking back into his eyes, “why are you wearing it?”
“Work uniform,” Steve says uncomfortably, and Robin Buckley appears in the window behind him, wearing an identical cap on her head.
“Edward,” she says dryly.
“Unfair that Robin isn’t short for anything, Buckley.”
“Hah.” She looks at Steve, who’s moved so they can see each other, looking back and forth between them. “What, you’re not gonna do your spiel?”
“What spiel?” Eddie questions, his interest piqued as Steve’s cheeks flush with colour again.
“Nothing,” Steve says, looking sharply at Robin. “There’s no spiel.”
“There’s a spiel,” Robin tells Eddie.
“What’s the spiel?”
“The spiel is—”
“Stop saying spiel,” Steve says loudly, and Robin and Eddie burst into giggles.
“Do it,” Robin encourages. Steve glares at her then looks at Eddie, who raises his eyebrows expectantly, and he sighs heavily, giving in.
“Ahoy, Eddie!” he says loudly and flatly, imitating enthusiasm. Eddie’s eyes widen. “Didn’t see you there. Would you like to set sail on this ocean of flavour with me? I’ll be your captain.”
There’s a short moment of silence before Eddie bursts into laughter, doubling over, and Steve sighs again.
“Incredible,” Eddie says when he can speak again, still giggling. “Amazing.”
“Alright. Are you here for ice cream or are you just gonna keep making fun of me?”
“This,” Eddie says, gesturing to Steve’s whole body (meaning the uniform, obviously), “is better than any ice cream.”
“Are you sure, ‘cause the USS Butterscotch is pretty fuckin’ good.”
“Oh, positive,” Eddie says, nods. “For sure. Better than any kind of chocolate fudge whatever.”
“Butterscotch isn’t chocolate.”
“I know what butterscotch is,” Eddie says defensively.
“I’m not sure you do.”
Eddie makes an indignant noise, but Robin interrupts.
“Alright, now you guys are just flirting.”
Steve whips around to look at her, and Eddie’s face flushes with heat as he glares at her, mouthing Shut the fuck up. She just grins.
“What do you want?” Steve asks when he turns back toward Eddie, his cheeks pink again.
“Uh. Guess I’ll try the butterscotch.”
“Good choice.”
Eddie watches him shamelessly just because he can, his eyes following him as he flips the ice cream scooper in his hand in way that’s unfairly cool, especially considering it’s an ice cream scooper, as he reaches into the tub of ice cream and scrapes at it. His sleeves are short enough that Eddie can watch his muscles flex and shift under his skin, and Eddie wishes the A/C was stronger in here.
“Dollar twenty-five,” Steve says, setting the cone on the counter, and Eddie holds out the coins, dropping them in Steve's hand. (He ignores the way his fingertips brush his palms.) Steve’s brows furrow as he counts them, and he pauses, counting again. “You’re a dime short, I think.”
“What?” Eddie leans over the counter to look at the change in his hand. “I thought I had a dollar twenty-five.”
Steve makes a face, shrugging and holding the coins out. Eddie’s missing a dime.
“Damn,” he says.
“Don’t worry ‘bout it,” Steve says, closing his hand around the coins and sorting them in the cash register.
“Huh?”
“‘S fine,” Steve says lightly, smiling, and he reaches for the tip jar, looking in it and rummaging through it until he produces a dime.
“Hey,” Robin says loudly behind him. “Those are my tips too, dingus.”
“I’m the only one working right now,” Steve says, dropping the coin noisily into the cash register.
“We have one single customer, you ass.”
Eddie questions her emphasis on single, but Steve doesn’t seem to notice.
“Thanks for coming,” he says brightly, smiling in a way that looks like it’s covering up a different smile, and Eddie takes his ice cream.
“Thanks, Harrington.”
He starts walking backwards out, watching as Steve pushes the cash register shut, his smile softening.
“We get off at five!” Robin calls loudly, and Steve turns around to her, hissing, “Shut the fuck up.”
Eddie winks at her.
“Aren’t they weird?” the girl asks when Eddie goes back to the fountain with his ice cream, and he cackles.
He sits and eats his ice cream as he people watches again, until he gets bored and pulls his book out of his bag.
“Oh, you’re a nerd,” the girl says, and he looks up at her.
“What’s wrong with nerds?” he asks, setting the book in his lap and eating the last of the styrofoam-y cone.
“They’re weird,” she says. Her friends giggle. “I know nerds. My brother’s a nerd.”
“Mhmm. Would I like him?”
“Probably. You know Dungeons and Dragons?”
Eddie grins at her.
“I’m a Dungeon Master.”
She looks him up and down again.
“Yeah, you’d like him.”
“Alright, well, nerd or not, The Princess Bride is a good book.”
“You’re reading about a princess?” one of the girls asks, and they all giggle as he puts on an offended expression.
“What, I don’t look like I read about princesses?”
They just giggle again.
They’re curious about the book, and why someone like him, as the leader so politely puts it, likes it so much, so he scoots closer and flips the book to the front page.
He puts on voices as he reads to them, acting the way he does during campaigns, theatrical and silly to make them giggle.
After a while the leader jumps up when a man calls Erica! loudly, and she waved him over. Eddie pauses, looking up.
“I told you girls to be at the entrance,” the man says, scolding them lightly.
“Sorry, Mr Sinclair,” one of the girls says. “We lost track of time.”
Mr Sinclair looks at Eddie sceptically.
“I’m showing them nerdy things aren’t all bad,” Eddie says, holding the book up, and Mr Sinclair just kind of scoffs.
“Alright, I like that you’re kind of reading,” he says to the girls, beckoning for them to get up, “but I need to get you all home, come on now.”
Eddie stands to help them up as a gentleman.
“Ladies,” he says lightly, waving goodbye as they leave, and they all wave back.
He keeps reading until the mall falls quieter, until he hears the sounds of metal being pulled down to block shop entrances, and he looks up when he hears Robin’s voice.
“—just saying I could have added a tally to the You Rule side, but you whiffed it— Oh, hey, Eddie!”
“Hey.”
“And I’m out of here,” she says brightly, moving to walk backwards toward the exit. “Night, fellas.”
“You don’t need a ride?” Steve asks.
“I biked here.”
“But—“
“It’s still light out, Steve, I got it,” she says, exasperated like it’s a daily conversation. “Don’t worry.”
“No detours,” he calls as she gets farther away.
“Do I like a detours kinda gal?”
“Yes,” Steve and Eddie says simultaneously, and she sticks her tongue out at them.
“So,” Steve says when she’s gone, turning to look at Eddie, who quickly averts his eyes from the hem of his shorts. “What’re you still doing here?”
“Uh.” Eddie hesitates. Steve seems to know exactly why he’s still here, based on his grin. “Definitely not… waiting around hoping you’d show up. Or anything like that.”
“Uh-huh.”
“So what’s the You Rule thing?” Eddie questions, ignoring the way his cheeks are flushed with heat.
“Uh. Kind of a long story,” Steve says, hesitating. “I can tell you over dinner.”
Eddie’s chest feels like it might explode.
“I would,” he says. “But I only had a dollar fifteen.”
Steve shrugs.
“Don’t worry ‘bout it,” he says lightly. “‘S on me.”
“You don’t have to do that.”
“Well, I’m gonna,” Steve says sassily, eyebrows raised. “You can’t stop me.”
“I could just… not go with you.”
“But you wanna come with me,” Steve says, grinning almost smugly. “Don’t you.”
It’s not a question, because he already knows. Eddie wonders if he’s see-through. If Steve can look at him and see right through his skin to the way his heart is beating faster just because Steve’s pretty eyes are on him.
“Dammit,” Eddie mutters, standing and snatching his bag. “Yeah.
Steve laughs, turning away.
“Come on.”

I don't know if you still want WIP Wed asks but I was busy earlier so I'm going to send some in case.
Word game for BB: Effect
I meant to respond and totally forgot to, so here they are now! A snippet of a scene with the word "effect":
On his lunch break, he’s practically bouncing off the walls in the break room as he fixes himself another cup of coffee. It seems counterproductive, but caffeine has always calmed him down.
Robin walks in as he’s stirring in his mountains of sugar. “You know pouring sugar into water would have the same effect, right?”
He shrugs. “Leave me and my sugar addiction alone, Buc– Harley.”
She pats his shoulder carefully as she manuevers around him to top off her own mug.
Eddie steps out of the way and takes a sip of his coffee, leaning against the counter. “So, any travel plans? Heading back home this holiday?”
“For us,” Robin says with a sigh, “this is home.”
He raises an eyebrow. “Oh, so do your folks come down–”
“No,” Robin says, short and to the point. “We spend it with Steve’s family and our little family down here. It’s enough for us.”
“I’m surprised Steve hasn’t dragged you back to spend the holiday with the Henderson’s at the very least,” he says.
Robin shakes her head. “We go down to visit Dustin and his mom for Easter, but the big ones, we stay here.”
Eddie doesn’t know what to make of this new information. He pockets it, leaves it alone to ruminate on later when he’s driving the twelve hours up to Bloomington. “Well, you won’t miss much. Wayne says the weather up there’s been something awful lately. I’m not looking forward to the drive, that’s for sure,” he says, just to fill the air. He sounds like a proper adult, though; whining about the weather and long drives, having small talk with someone who should know him better than he knows himself.
“I’m sure Wayne is excited for you to come home, though,” Robin says. She mirrors his stance, holding her mug with both hands as she takes a small sip. “How is he?”
Eddie lets out a long breath. “Good. Retired. Hates it, but he can’t keep up with the younger guys that were on his team so he had no choice. Spends most of his day bitching with his neighbors and fishing, now.”
Robin gives a soft smile. “I’m glad he’s doing well. Tell him we said hello, yeah?”
‘We,’ she says. ‘We’ as in RobinandSteve, SteveandRobin. They’re a unit, a ‘we,’ and she speaks on both of their behalf, like a wife would.
Eddie knows his smile is strained by the look she gives him. “Yeah. Will do.”

Robin and I watched the private jet move slowly outside the window of WOCA as we broadcast from the studios at the Ocala Airport. We were on the air so we joked “that’s how the other half lives” and “the only problem with flying is you can’t stop at Buc-ees.” And as it slowly pulled away from us toward the runway our eyes were glued to that amazing flying machine. It disappeared behind the hangars and then, a few moments later, like Superman, it rose toward the clouds with incredible grace and speed and power. I painted this on Procreate with the dry brush. I call it “Soaring.”

Page 4: Chris Harrison gone for good? The Bachelor host's future with the show remains uncertain after his controversial interview with Rachel Lindsay
Page 6: Since the start of his career Justin Timberlake has endured his fair share of scandals but after welcoming his second son with wife Jessica Biel over the summer and celebrating his 40th birthday, he is confessing that he feels immense guilt about the past and he won't be making the same mistakes in the future -- Justin's done some soul-searching and accepts that he's wronged a lot of people over the years with his own terrible mistakes and he says he's still a work in progress, but step one has been to stand up and admit he's hurt too many women -- in addition to a boozy night out with his Palmer costar Alisha Wainwright in 2019 and his part in the now-infamous Nipplegate incident with Janet Jackson at the 2004 Super Bowl, Justin recently came under fire again due to the documentary Framing Britney Spears which showed him exploiting his breakup from Britney Spears to help his solo career -- Justin's learned from his mistakes and has a lot more sensitivity about the impact of his actions on other people and that's the big difference between the Justin of today and his old, immature self and that self-awareness was evident in an emotional statement that he posted apologizing to both Britney and Janet for the errors in his ways -- his words drew praise from his wife Jessica who says he's come a long way as a husband, a father and more importantly, a human being
Page 7: Wendy Williams is on the prowl for a new man and he's got to be husband material and she is ready for a serious commitment -- Wendy's been staying up until all hours of the night checking out guys online and on exclusive dating apps and she wants someone age-appropriate, fun, kind, independent and of course has no history of cheating -- she's feeling very optimistic and even buying new perfume and clothes and jewelry for all the dates she hopes to have once lockdown lifts
* Texas native Matthew McConaughey is seriously considering throwing his hat in the ring to become the state's next governor -- he's been putting out feelers to see if he's got sufficient support and if enough donors are willing to write checks, he'd mount an aggressive run in 2022 -- he's already gotten the thumbs-up from his wife Camila Alves and their three kids -- at this point, he needs to see an actual path to winning because he's not interested in just making a protest statement; don't be fooled by his aw-shucks attitude, Matthew means business
* Now that Keeping Up With the Kardashians is coming to an end, the hunt is on for a new family to replace the clan and one reality pro is poised to nab the prize: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna -- there's already been talk about Lisa picking up the torch and her family is camera ready, consisting of husband Harry Hamlin, and their daughters Delilah Hamlin who's dating Love Island's Eyal Booker and Amelia Hamlin who's dating Scott Disick
Page 8: Things keep going from bad to worse for Armie Hammer -- he was forced to drop out of his upcoming movie Shotgun Wedding with Jennifer Lopez after direct messages he allegedly sent to women in which he described himself as a cannibal and detailed disturbing sexual fantasies were leaked online -- Armie was also fired by his talent agency WME and now the disgraced star may get cut from his new film Next Goal Wins which has already been shot -- he's radioactive and everybody knows it and his completed but unreleased work is getting a second look as studios want to do damage control, and that includes another of his finished projects Death on the Nile where his part could end up on the cutting room floor -- he's a pariah now and it's hard to see how he's ever going to come back from this
* Jennifer Aniston has always had a spiritual side but these days she is taking things to a whole new plane -- Jen has surrounded herself with psychics and has been doing Goddess Circles with the same group of close friends for 30 years, but now she's taking courses to learn to heal herself and be her own guru -- BFF Courteney Cox has been a big influence and Jen's learned a lot from Courteney, who's had a long-term interest in mediums, astrologists and horoscopes, and she's trying to fuse it all together into her own brand of spirituality -- Jen's had a lot of time alone, which has only deepened her questions about the universe and how she can make the most of her life and she's determined to find the answers
* Princess Eugenie is over the moon after welcoming her first child, a baby boy with businessman husband Jack Brooksbank but now the new mom is torn about taking time out from her royal responsibilities -- Eugenie would love to take a long break from everything and focus solely on raising her son however she knows deep down how much she's needed, especially since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are showing no signs of coming back -- as she weighs her options, Eugenie is looking to her multi-tasking cousin-in-law Duchess Kate for some inspiration because she's impressed by how Kate is able to juggle her official duties while raising three young kids

Page 28: Marriage isn't easy especially during a global health crisis but for Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard divorce is not an option -- Kristen said she and Dax at the start of the pandemic were at a point in their marriage where they definitely needed a little therapy brush-up and every couple of years they're being very antagonistic towards each other and they don't want that so they go back to therapy and figure out how they can serve their team goal better and it's been incredibly helpful and even in the toughest times they always have each other's back and they're committed to being each other's biggest support systems -- while their relationship may never be perfect, they're happy and love each other and that's what matters most
Page 29: Now that Tom Brady has won his seventh Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he has set his sights on the next prize: baby No. 3 with wife Gisele Bundchen -- they've been telling friends they hope to make an announcement by summer at the latest and Tom and Gisele have been super loved-up since leaving Boston and moving to Florida after the QB signed on with the Bucs and the change of scenery has worked wonders on their love life and put them in baby-making mode -- the duo, who recently bought a $17 million spread on Miami's exclusive Indian Creek Island, plan to build a luxury mansion there complete with a nursery and they hope to be all settled in when the new arrival comes -- they've never felt healthier or been happier
* Aaron Rodgers looked positively giddy when he revealed he had a fiancee, Shailene Woodley at the NFL Honors, but the QB is dreading the next step: bringing her home to meet his parents because it's no secret that Aaron's been estranged from them for years and the last thing he wants is for Shailene to get caught up in the drama -- Shailene wants Aaron to clear the air with his folks, but he's not ready to do that and he doesn't want to bring Shailene into a toxic environment
* It's only been two years since Miranda Lambert married Brendan McLoughlin but she's already itching for some alone time -- she's headed to Texas in April for her first concert in over a year and she's told Brendan he shouldn't come because it will be all work and no play but she really wants to get away from him for a while and after the pair's recent road trip together, Miranda is desperate for some space -- sometimes Miranda feels like she's living with a baby because Brendan whines and complains about life on her farm
Page 30: Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's romance is heating up fast, so much so that she's practically handed over the keys to her Calabasas estate and she loves having Travis sleep over and sometimes he'll stay the whole weekend -- he gets along famously with her children and Travis has been a friend of the family for years, so the kids have pretty much known him their whole lives and they'll do fun stuff together like hiking or playing video games and Travis loves making breakfast and showing off his pancake-flipping skills --Travis is spending so much time at Kourt's place that he's moved a bunch of his stuff in to make it easier for his kids Landon and Alabama with ex Shanna Moakler to visit him there -- everyone's convinced they'll be living together full-time before you know it
* Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were met with a flurry of well-wishes after they revealed they're expecting baby No. 2 -- the couple decided to wait until Meghan was safely into her second trimester to share the news and they only told a handful of family members before the public and they wanted to cherish this secret for as long as they could -- Harry and Meghan have been nesting at their Montecito mansion and have been busy prepping the nursery and making sure it's eco-friendly with energy-efficient lighting and they're keeping it as plastic-free as possible

The music died, Wordle, the Celts, and Dillon's first book
Happy first Friday of February 2022! Wow, January seemed to fly by. This week the birds have started to return and I’ve seen the first robins scampering about. There are also a number of trees beginning to bloom, which isn’t uncommon for us, though today the temperature dropped 16 degrees in less than two hours! Hopefully you have something enjoyable or restful (or both!) to do this weekend. If not, have you heard of Wordle?
Sixty three years ago yesterday, the music died. In remembrance of that day, I’m including some of their best music. Which considering their young ages and shorter careers is fascinating how all of their music has had such a lasting impact on music.
Here’s Buddy Holly & The Crickets on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1957 performing “That’ll Be The Day.”
Chantilly Lace is in my top 100 favorite songs, The Big Bopper had such a distinct voice and this style is so much fun to listen to. White Lightning is also a really good one.
And Ritchie Valens had a voice that seemed far older than his age. Here he is performing Ooh My Head, right after a short bit from Chuck Berry!
Here’s a playlist of Buddy Holly’s top 20 songs. Here’s a playlist of Ritchie Valens music, he had an exquisite voice. And of course, I have to add a link to La Bamba, also in my top 100 favorite songs.
I am taking a course on The Celtic World taught by Jennifer Paxton, Ph.D. and it has been eye opening and fascinating. One aspect of the course that I am loving, is that she is laying out what we have been taught about the Celts and then, in a sense, correcting those concepts. As much of what we have been taught of the Celts is not quite accurate. Such as, there being little evidence that there was ever a singular “Celtic” civilization. The European “Celts,” the Irish “Celts,” the Scottish “Celts,” and the Welsh “Celts,” were most likely all separate groups that shared bits of culture and language but not genetics. And apparently the languages of the Celts share more in common with the Baltic languages than they have ever shared with the Italic languages.
Dillon Helbig wrote his first book and immediately placed it in his local library. And now, there is a waitlist for it! Such a clever boy….I appreciate how children often question the “right” way to do things.
As someone who recently purchased my own hot water bottle that I have been thoroughly enjoying, I found this article, “The Revenge of the Hot Water Bottle,” to be aptly timed. If you, like me, are cold all the time a hot water bottle is far better than cranking up your heat constantly!
If you’ve never been to a Buc-ee’s, you should take a road trip to find one!
Here are a few Netflix films I’m looking forward to watching:
Found, Framed! A Sicilian Murder Mystery, My Heroes Were Cowboys, Jaguar and My Best Friend Anne Frank.
May this first weekend of February be a joy, Spring IS coming even if may be bleak now.

Ranking the defensive play-caller for each NFL team
Tumblr media
Calling defensive plays is tougher than ever in the NFL with talented quarterbacks and rules that favor offense, but someone has to do it. Here's our ranking of the top defensive play-callers heading into the 2021 season.
Tumblr media
Vincent Carchietta / USA Today Sports Images Few would argue with the claim is the best head coach and defensive mind in NFL history. Even before winning six Super Bowls with one of the most consistently strong defenses of the last two decades in New England, Belichick helped the Giants win two Super Bowls as defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells.   2 of 32
2. Don Martindale, Ravens defensive coordinator
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images After a one-year stint as Broncos defensive coordinator in 2010, Martindale has reemerged as one of the best coordinators in the league with Baltimore since 2018. His defense has plenty of talent, but Martindale's scheme and disguise have helped the Ravens finish third place or better in points allowed in three consecutive seasons. Even nearing age 60, he's a possible head coaching candidate in the near future for good reason.   Robin Alam / Icon Sportswire Butler has served as Pittsburgh's defensive coordinator since 2015, and over that time the unit has been consistently elite. He deserves praise for the unit's stability despite a shuffling linebacker corps and secondary, and the Steelers peaked at third in points and yards allowed last season.   4 of 32
4. Todd Bowles, Buccaneers defensive coordinator
Kim Klement / USA Today Sports Images Bowles' time as head coach of the Jets from 2015-2018 wasn't as successful as hoped, but he's re-established himself as an elite coordinator under Bruce Arians. He architected an elite defense under Arians in Arizona during 2013-2014 before going to New York, and the Bucs improved more than 20 points in points allowed from 2019 to 2020 with an influx of young talent.   5 of 32
5. Dennis Allen, Saints defensive coordinator
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images Allen struggled in two-plus years as head coach of the Raiders from 2012-2014, but he's likely to get another opportunity due to his success as a coordinator in his next act. the Saints defense has shown consistent improvement since he took over in 2015, going from worst in the league to fifth-best in points allowed last year.   Brace Hemmelgarn / USA Today Sports Images Zimmer had an accomplished and proven career as an NFL defensive coordinator and play-caller with Dallas, Atlanta, Cincinnati, and the Vikings before Minnesota's decline last year. He deserves a mulligan due to the bevy of injuries, ending the team's streak of five consecutive seasons finishing top 10 in points allowed. He likely needs a full rebound in 2021 to keep his standing.   Isaiah J. Downing / USA Today Sports Images Fangio was an accomplished defensive coordinator with nearly 20 years of NFL experience before getting a head coaching job in 2019. That experience likely encouraged him to keep calling plays while wearing the head coach headset. After a good year in 2019, Denver's defense regress last season with a bevy of major injuries, but there are few defenses in recent memory better than the one Fangio orchestrated with the Bears in 2018. The return of Von Miller and a further influx of talent gives Fangio the chance to approach that level this season.   8 of 32
8. Dean Pees, Falcons defensive coordinator
Dale Zanine / USA Today Sports Images Pees' coaching resume is long and accomplished, serving as a defensive coordinator for the 14th season with his fourth team. He's led elite defenses with the Patriots, Ravens, and Titans, and has come out of retirement for the difficult task of leading the Falcons. He should be the right man for the job, with eight top 10 finishes in points allowed.   Darren Yamashita / USA Today Sports Images While Spagnuolo failed as a head coach with the Rams from 2009-2011, there are few more accomplished defensive coordinators in the history of the league. He's won the Super Bowl with two different organizations, helping halt the Patriots' perfect season in 2007 and turning around the Chiefs defense in 2019. Spags has overseen a successful transition to the 4-3 in KC, helping the defense rank in the top 10 in points scored in consecutive seasons.   Jayne Kamin-Oncea / USA Today Sports Images So far, Staley has been NFL coaching look easy. After only one year as the defensive coordinator with the Rams in 2020, he was hired as Chargers head coach. The hype was for good reason, as the Rams were No. 1 in yards and points after years as a college coach and NFL outside linebackers coach. Time will tell if he's able to wear multiple hats successfully in his new role.   11 of 32
11. Matt Eberflus, Colts defensive coordinator
Mark J. Rebilas / USA Today Sports Images Eberflus has regularly been a head coaching candidate due to the performance of Indy's defense since he was hired in 2018. He was retained by Frank Reich after Josh McDaniels backed out of the head coaching position, and has been one of the team's greatest assets, finishing 10th in points allowed in two of three seasons with the Cover 2 scheme.   12 of 32
12. Jack Del Rio, Washington defensive coordinator
Scott Taetsch / USA Today Sports Images Del Rio has a wealth of head coaching experience between the Jaguars and Raiders, but he also led a strong defense in Denver from 2012-2014. His current unit in Washington could be his most talented, and it showed last season finishing fourth in points and second in yards allowed.   Rich Barnes / USA Today Sports Images Frazier has been an NFL coach since 1999, with stints as a defensive backs coach, coordinator, and head coach. He was hired in 2017 to coordinate the Bills defense when Sean McDermott took over, and although inconsistent, the Buffalo defense has remained a strength. The unit finished in the middle of the pack last season after allowing the second-fewest points in the league in 2019.   14 of 32
14. Gus Bradley, Raiders defensive coordinator
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images Bradley's dominant Seahawks defense in 2011-2012 earned him a head coaching opportunity with the Jaguars. After an up and down four-year stint in Jacksonville, he's coordinated defense with the Chargers and now rival Raiders. His defenses have featured four top 10 finishes in points allowed over eight seasons, but he has a tall task with a Raiders defense that has been consistently bad in recent years.   15 of 32
15. Dan Quinn, Cowboys defensive coordinator
Jason Parkhurst / USA Today Sports Images Quinn is well known as the Falcons head coach from 2015-2020, leading the team to a Super Bowl in 2016. Before that time, he led an elite Seahawks defense in 2013-2014, and Dallas is optimistic that he can help a defense that was historically bad last year. He will have his hands full with a team that's still developing at all three levels, and Atlanta's defense was in the bottom half of the league over the last four seasons.   16 of 32
16. Vance Joseph, Cardinals defensive coordinator
David Wallace / USA Today Sports Images Joseph saw a quick ascent from defensive coordinator in Miami in 2016 to a two-year tenure as a head coach in Denver. After struggling there, he's entering his third season with Arizona. The Cardinals defense has been in a rebuild with talent deficiencies, especially on the backend, but saw rapid improvement from fifth worst in points allowed last season to 12th best. He still faces obstacles this season with a terrible secondary, but the tandem of Chandler Jones and J.J. Watt on the edges could offset the weaknesses.   17 of 32
17. Joe Woods, Browns defensive coordinator
Jeff Lange / USA Today Sports Images After serving as Denver's defensive coordinator in 2017-2018, Woods received a second chance under Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland last year. The Browns defense ranked in the middle of the pack in points (21st) and yards (17th), but expect improvement this year after improvements in the secondary.   Matthew Emmons / USA Today Sports Images Smith is best remembered serving as Bears head coach from 2004-2012 and Buccaneers head coach in 2014-2015, but before that time helped fix a Rams defense as coordinator from 2001-2003 with the Tampa 2 scheme he learned under Tony Dungy. After some time as a college head coach at Illinois, he could face tough sledding with a talent-deficient Texans squad.   19 of 32
19. Ken Norton Jr., Seahawks defensive coordinator
Joe Nicholson / USA Today Sports Images After an excellent NFL career, Norton has had a nice run as defensive coordinator of the Raiders and Seahawks. He deserves credit for keeping Seattle's defense stable in spite of nearly a full rebuild, though the unit has finished no better than 11th in points allowed.   20 of 32
20. Josh Boyer, Dolphins defensive coordinator
Jon Durr / USA Today Sports Images Boyer has strong results to show for his one season as defensive coordinator in Miami, as the Dolphins improved rapidly and finished sixth in points allowed. His previous experience was as a defensive assistant in New England and Miami.   Chris Pedota / USA Today Sports Images After paying his dues as an NFL defensive assistant, Graham got his first coordinator job with Miami in 2019 before going north to New York last season. While Miami's defense finished last in the league in a season in which they arguably tanked, New York's defense showed improvement last year, ranking ninth-best in points allowed. A product of the Bill Belichick coaching tree, Graham is on a clear head coaching track.   Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images Morris has big shoes to fill replacing Brandon Staley, who led the Rams to be ranked No. 1 last year. While he was head coach in Tampa Bay from 2007-2011, Morris got only his first opportunity as an NFL defensive coordinator in Atlanta last year before being promoted to interim head coach in the middle of the season.   23 of 32
23. Jeff Ulbrich, Jets defensive coordinator
Vincent Carchietta / USA Today Sports Images Ulbrich got his feet wet as a coordinator with the Falcons last year after Dan Quinn was fired. He previously had experience coaching the team's linebackers but has a great opportunity to call plays under former 49ers defensive mastermind Robert Saleh with the Jets.   24 of 32
24. Joe Barry, Packers defensive coordinator
Mark Hoffman / USA Today Sports Images Barry is replacing Mike Pettine as the Packers defensive coordinator and has high expectations on a team with Super Bowl aspirations. He has previous experience in the role with Detroit in 2007-2008 and Washington in 2015-2016 but has never led a defense that finished in the top half of the league in points allowed.   25 of 32
25. Phil Snow, Panthers defensive coordinator
Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images After an extensive career as a college coordinator, Snow got his first opportunity to coordinate an NFL defense last season under Matt Rhule. Read the full article
