Steve thinks that making out with Eddie on the dance floor at Dustin and El's wedding is probably not the most polite thing to do. Especially as the best man.
But boy, is it hard to stop once they start kissing, twenty years of longing and dreaming all flowing into an almost desperate need to get closer and closer. Eddie kisses Steve like he wants to crawl inside him so he'll never have to leave again, and by God, Steve wants him to. Now that he's finally feeling Eddie, tasting him, he's not sure he can ever give it up.
It reminds him of Christmas Eve '93.
He was in Hawkins for the holidays, staying with Claudia and Dustin, as he had done every year since he and Robin had moved to Chicago in '87. His parents usually spent the holidays in Florida anyway, claiming the weather was more to their liking. He had a standing invitation to join them there, but Steve never took them up on it.
He'd rather spend Christmas with his real family.
So every year, on the day before Christmas, their little close-knit group would come over to Joyce and Hopper's house and gather for a family dinner. It was a tradition, almost an unspoken rule. Christmas Eve was spent at the Byers-Hopper residence.
Even Eddie would come, come hell or high water. In fact, he once told Steve that it was part of every contract he had signed since their first record deal in '88. Eddie would have time off between December 23rd and New Year's. The rest of the year was pretty unpredictable; they never knew when they would get a chance to talk to Eddie on the phone or even see him in person, but Christmas Eve was set in stone.
The last time Steve had seen Eddie in person had been at Dustin's graduation in May. Eddie had come all the way from LA just to see Dustin graduate, and Steve had been so excited to see him. More so than usual, since Steve had just graduated from teaching after drifting aimlessly for a while before deciding to go to community college to become a teacher.
He was also single for the first time in a long time. And he had thought that maybe this could be their chance. For a future together. Because Steve could teach in LA just as well as he could in Chicago. Or maybe Eddie could make music while living in Chicago; the city had a great music scene and recording studios as well. It wouldn't matter where, just that it was them.
Steve had never stopped hoping.
That's why he'd wanted to ask Eddie out while they watched the kid they kinda co-parented graduate. Only the words had died in his mouth the second he realized that Eddie hadn't come alone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is Tom. Tom, these are my friends, Dustin, Mike, Will, Lucas, Max, El, Robin and Steve."
"You're a friend of Eddie's too?" Dustin had asked the guy, and Steve marveled at how dense their token genius could be sometimes.
Tom had smiled at Dustin and taken Eddie's hand. "His boyfriend, actually. Is that okay with you guys?"
No, Steve had wanted to say, piss off.
But he hadn't. Instead, he had avoided Eddie and Tom altogether, barely exchanging more than a few words with Eddie and ignoring the hurt look Eddie gave him whenever Steve pretended to be too busy to talk to him. It was for the best, really.
Their Christmas Eve gathering was a family affair, no outsiders allowed. It meant that Steve would at least not have to deal with watching Tom all night, enjoying what Steve himself had hoped to have one day: Eddie's love.
But even without Tom physically being there, he was like a ghost haunting him. It wasn't even that Eddie talked much about him or anything like that. In fact, he was too busy asking Steve questions about his new job as a middle school teacher and about the cat he and Robin had adopted and how their crazy neighbor was doing.
It made it easier to forget about Tom. The eggnog helped, too, and by the time he had finished his fourth glass, he was leaning heavily against Eddie's side, warm and cozy and surrounded by his still familiar smell. It almost felt like back in '86, before LA. When they drove Eddie's van to the quarry and lay on a mattress in the back with the doors open, looking at the night sky.
Eddie always kept a spare blanket in the van, just for Steve, because Steve always, always forgot his jacket. By the end of September, when Eddie had left, the blanket had begun to smell of them both.
"This is nice," Steve said, his tongue loose and his inhibitions low. "Just like the van, remember?"
Eddie's arm was on the back of the couch behind Steve, and he used it to pull Steve even closer. "Yeah."
And then, in a lower voice, "I missed you, Stevie."
When Tom stood in the doorway to pick up Eddie, reality came crashing down on him.
Everything went downhill after that.
Because after Eddie and Tom left, Steve decided he couldn't stay a minute longer either. He couldn't handle the laughter and joy, and especially the worried looks Robin was sending his way. So he told everyone that he was walking home to get some fresh air and to clear his head of the eggnog.
"Are you sure? I can drive you. Or you can stay with me at my parents'; you know they wouldn't mind."
"Thanks, Robbie, but I want to be alone for a little while, okay? Just for tonight. We'll talk tomorrow, I promise."
She gave him a long, searching look before nodding and pulling him into a tight hug. "Take care of yourself, okay? I need my best friend."
His downfall was the bar on the way to the Henderson house, because he had just enough money in his pocket to get sufficiently shitfaced.
And just enough spare change to call Eddie from the pay phone outside.
It rang for several long minutes, and Steve was almost ready to hang up and try again when a sleepy voice on the other end grumbled, "This better be important."
"Eddiiieee," Steve cheered, "thought you wouldn't pick up. Thought maybe you were too busy screwing Tom to answer the phone." Steve slurred his words badly and wondered if Eddie could even understand what he was saying.
"Jesus, Stevie, you're drunk as a skunk! What happened?"
"You," Steve whispered, and then louder. "'Nothin'. Just, y'know, spending Christmas Eve alone and drunk. Got to get used to that, I guess."
There was a long silence on the other end, and Steve would have thought Eddie had hung up if not for the sound of his breathing.
"Eddie?" Steve had to ask, the silence between them worse than anything he could imagine.
"Where are you?" Eddie had asked suddenly, and Steve had just enough time to tell him before the line went truly silent and the dial tone rang through the speaker, the phone demanding more coins Steve didn't have.
Cursing under his breath, he leaned his head against the glass of the phone booth and pinched his nose to keep the tears at bay.
He must have fallen asleep, because the next thing he knew, Eddie's hand was on his shoulder, shaking him gently. "Steve, hey. Stevie, come on, wake up. Time to get you home."
Blinking up at Eddie, Steve was sure he must be dreaming. "Eddie? What -?"
"You sounded like you needed someone, so I came. Come on, you must be freezing, man, you're shaking."
"Am I?" Steve asked, his voice sounding dazed, and Eddie sighed. With an arm around Steve's waist, he led him over to his old van. The one he'd left behind after his first visit to Hawkins after moving west, realizing it wouldn't survive the trip back. Wayne was taking care of it so that it would still be able to drive short distances in and around Hawkins, ensuring that Eddie would always have a ride when he visited.
"Your chariot awaits, my prince," Eddie said, helping Steve inside. It still smelled like it did back then. The inside of the old van had a distinct aroma that mixed the musty scent of the worn upholstery with the lingering hints of herbal sweetness and Eddie's cologne. It felt like a snapshot from his memory, as if no time had passed since he had last sat here.
God, Steve had missed this car.
He patted the dashboard clumsily but lovingly. "I missed you, baby."
"Did you just tell my car you missed her?" Eddie asked incredulously.
Steve pouted at him as Eddie turned the ignition and the engine roared to life. "She's a lady, Eds. You said so yourself. And she was always there for us."
Eddie's eyes were soft as he looked over at Steve.
"You're right, Stevie. She was." And then he leaned to the side and turned in his seat to rummage in the back until he emerged with a burgundy blanket. He draped it over Steve with gentle hands until only Steve's head was sticking out. "You're still shaking."
Steve was too stunned for words, and maybe that was better, because Eddie had shifted into drive and pulled onto the blissfully empty streets of Hawkins.
It was Steve's blanket. The one Eddie had put in the van for him.
The drive over to the Henderson's was a quiet one, both men lost in their thoughts. It was only when Eddie pulled up to the curb in front of the house that Steve spoke again, his brain a little more alert than when he had called Eddie.
"Thanks, Eds. You didn't have to do that," he told Eddie as earnestly as he could while feeling like the car was still moving underneath him.
"I know. I wanted to, though. I'll always want to, you don't have to ask."
"Why?"
"'Cause it's you." He said it so simply, as if it were just another fact. The sun rises in the east, monsters exist, and Eddie would always be there when Steve needed him, even when he didn't ask.
"Kiss me," Steve begged, suddenly desperate in a way he couldn't understand. All he knew was that if he let Eddie go right now, this moment between them would be over and he would have lost Eddie.
Again.
"Please, Eddie." His voice broke at Eddie's name.
A soft touch on his cheek, feather light as calloused fingers caressed his skin before a warm hand cupped his cold face.
"I can't," Eddie whispered even as he leaned in, his eyes so dark they looked almost black.
Steve leaned forward as well, willing to meet Eddie halfway, something he wished he'd done so much sooner.
"Why?" Almost inaudibly.
"Because I don't think I could stop if I kissed you now," Eddie replied, pressing a tender kiss to Steve's forehead, right between his eyebrows. "Go inside, Stevie. Sleep it off. You'll feel better in the morning."
And Steve went, if only to hide the tears on his face.
He didn't feel better the next day. Or the day after that.
It was a year before he spoke to Eddie again.
"Remember Christmas Eve '93?" Steve asks Eddie after they finally break apart.
Eddie's eyes are glazed and it takes him a second to get his bearings. He makes a questioning sound, clearly trying to catch up with where Steve's mind had gone, but then his face clears.
"Of course. God, you have no idea how much I wanted to kiss you that night. It took everything in me to let you go."
"I wish you had. I wanted you to."
"I know, sweetheart. But you were also really drunk and upset, and I had a boyfriend. And even though he wasn't you, I didn't want to hurt him. He didn't deserve that. But most of all, I didn't want to make you the other guy. I remember how much you hated your dad cheating on your mom, and I couldn't make you a part of something like that."
Steve kisses him again to show Eddie that he understands and that he's grateful. Because it's true, he wanted Eddie to choose him, but not like that. Not by hurting someone else like that.
"But I loved you then. Which I guess wasn't fair to Tom either, but I just didn't know how not to."
"I know. I think a part of me knew then, too. Which made it hurt even more."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. What did you say in your toast? 'If you're willing to take the long and winding road, you know that whatever's at the other end is worth it.' You are worth it."
Later, in Steve's hotel room, sweaty and sticky and still catching his breath, Eddie vows to show Steve every day that he's worth it. That they're worth it.

It’s New Year’s Eve 1987 when Eddie and Steve kiss for the first time. That Christmas and subsequent New Year's were the first holidays Eddie had celebrated out of the hospital and he overdid it a little.
Or at least that’s what they were claiming. They were drunk and swept up in the holiday. Everyone was counting down and kissing, it didn’t mean anything. Friends can kiss. A point not helped by Steve trying (and failing) to kiss Robin.
They didn’t know what they didn’t know. It was a lot of tension that had to go somewhere and for months after they both insisted it meant nothing. Leaning heavily on the two drinks they’d had and the neighbor’s fireworks. It was a nice kiss but just the sort of things friends do. It meant nothing.
By the time they were ushering out not just a year but a whole decade, Eddie and Steve were kissing on purpose. As often as possible. They’d held out for too long but both of them managed to get their heads on right and realize their feelings. Together they made 1989 insufferable for everyone around them.
As Dick Clark counted down the last seconds of the year, Eddie had already pinned Steve against the wall. If there weren’t so many witnesses, they’d have rung in 1990 with a blowjob and not just a kiss. New relationships are like that, especially when it took so long to get there.
The following year marked the first time Robin took the second runner-up friendship kiss because Eddie and Steve were right all those years ago. Friends can and do kiss and Robin is too important to Steve to not be his next kiss of any new year.
In 93, they celebrate the new year alone in their new house. Everyone else is at the bar but the new home smell hasn’t worn off yet, Eddie and Steve stay home and watch TV. Little did they know it was the start of a trend. Soon enough they’d be picking their couch over the bar. Not yet, they've got a few more years left in them, but it does give them the delicious taste of celebrating at home a little sooner than their peers.
And they did go out consistently, each year. Until they celebrated the arrival of 1996 along with their new baby. Robin surpassed best friend duties and with some help from science, she and Steve had a beautiful baby girl almost a month before the new year. Steve was given full custody (not that the courts made it easy) and their lives would never be the same.
The two exhausted dads still managed to be up as the calendar flipped from 1995 to 1996 but not by choice. A colicky child who hadn’t known a night’s sleep since coming home with them didn’t stop for the holidays. Both Steve and Eddie were too tired to care, never mind kiss. If not for the neighbor's fireworks, they wouldn't have known.
Sixteen months later, a son was welcomed into the house. This time he was Eddie’s and it was the same struggle to make that legally binding but absolutely worth it. Their little house was overflowing with love and happiness.
Something about kids made time move differently and now they were ending another decade. Their friends were all over the country and no longer able to pop down to the same bar. Most of them were in the same boat as Eddie and Steve; a house full of kids and no desire to find a sitter. It didn't matter much anymore that the date was changing, not when there were things like first steps and first words to mark time with.
They all called each other the next day, everyone talked about the family portraits in the Christmas cards and about how tired they were. While it wasn’t the same, it was nice that the year started with familiar voices and favorite people. Even nicer that none of them had to give everything up to be a parent.
A new decade gave way to a new millennium. Time kept passing. Eddie swore he could still pass for twenty but his thinning, graying hair said otherwise. He blamed all of it on Steve, which was something Steve wore like a badge of honor. He still had a full head of hair and had never minded being a menace to Eddie.
The passing of time was measured like that now. Not with big parties or the use of a calendar but with graying hair and enrolling their daughter in school. Milestones were different and had nothing to do with the date. It was a favorite sweater their kid had outgrown and the way the lawn needed mowed yet again.
Of course, they still celebrated New Year, at a respectable eight o’clock. With fabricated ball drops and sparkling apple cider, Eddie and Steve still kissed as their children danced around the backyard with sparklers. Everyone was sound asleep by midnight with smiles still on their faces.
Life got boring but never stopped. Another decade passed and they were thinking about driver’s licenses and colleges. Steve and Eddie both were content with this being the rest of their lives. Nothing exciting or new but also nothing to complain about.
They made it to 2012 before they put a new twist on an old classic. Life wasn’t done throwing them curveballs. A late-night phone call from a party two towns over, their daughter was drunk, scared, and didn’t know what else to do. So she sat on a stranger’s lawn and called her dads, both of whom rushed to get her.
Eddie filled the car ride home with talk of all the parties he went to before he was old enough and Steve let him have the lie. Especially because correcting him would mean talking about all the parties Steve actually went to (and never seen Eddie at). They got her home safely and counted every blessing that she called.
The next day was filled with more of the same. Never once did they say they were disappointed because they weren’t. Both of them had been there and wanted to make sure that she knew no matter where she was or what time it was, they’d come to get her. In its own weird way, it was a great note to start the year on.
Two years later Eddie and Steve got another first, one they never thought they would. For the first time in actual decades, they stayed up to ring in another year because this time they could as newlyweds. Their oldest was in college and they’d been living together since before they could rent a car but now they could finally, legally marry. It made Steve as mad as it did happy.
The Munson-Harrington household became an official hyphenated household. In the months that followed, they adopted the child they didn’t father, and everyone could have the same last name for the first time. It might have been the best year in recent memory. A much-needed change to their family.
Little did they know but it was also their last Christmas and New Year with Wayne. A gift they all wished they’d enjoyed while they had it. Of course, they couldn't have known, there was always going to be another year. Until there wasn’t. Not the sort of change in routine they were looking for but one they certainly felt.
They were old enough now that that’s how they celebrated, losing things. Family, hearing, the car keys. It was always something. Even the kids were gone. Both of them were away at college now, in New York and Indiana, and neither wanted to come home for the holidays. They had their own friends to celebrate with now.
Still, Steve and Eddie crashed the dorm one year, son in tow, and forced their daughter to take them to Times Square. Eddie booed the musical acts and heckled the sorry excuse for a host for simply not being Dick Clark. Things that were different sucked and never mind the fact that the man is dead, he’s the only acceptable host of Rockin’ New Year’s Eve. The location was different yet somehow things felt too familiar.
Steve expected it all to be lame but there was an atmosphere to get swept up in and boy did he. In fact, they all did. Even the kids who’d made hating things a career. Especially things Steve and Eddie liked.
Eddie kissed Steve under the actual ball everyone references this time of year and he dipped him like a soldier victoriously coming home as their kids protested and not a single person around them noticed. After all these years, the magic wasn’t gone but that wasn’t a surprise to them.
The next year brought another milestone that no one was keen to cross, the invitation to the wedding of Lucas and Max’s kid. Eddie and Steve still felt the ink drying on their own marriage license but it forced them to acknowledge both of their kids are old enough to get married. Not a point in favor of the wedding.
In fact, it resulted in a panic about the finances of that. Not that either child has shown they’re ready, Steve’s need to be prepared for everything and they start squirreling away funds and selling things they no longer need.
There aren’t many more celebrations before one of the group becomes a grandparent. From there it’s like dominoes. In the span of two years everyone who can be, is. Steve and Eddie included.
At first, it’s funny. They all tease each other about the frightening reality of their age. Gag gifts are sent in the mail and no phone call happens without a jab about the grandparenthood of both parties.
Eddie hasn’t claimed to be in his twenties in a few years and now, seemingly, is only seen in shirts proclaiming his grandpa status. The only way he could be prouder was if somehow he and Steve were having another kid. Steve doesn’t settle into the role as easily.
It’s been more years than he wanted to count since he’d talked to Joyce Byers but Steve finds himself wishing he could reach out and ask for advice. What was it like watching all of them scatter the country and have kids? How’d she cope with it?
Steve doesn’t really have the time to process it like that, though. Once it starts, it never stops. There’s an alert on social media or mass text sent every other month announcing someone else’s new bundle of joy.
Half the party’s identity gets wrapped up in their grandkids, no longer having interests of their own. Steve and Eddie try to find the balance, though it does get harder when their son moves back to town.
To prove they’re still their own people and not just granddads whose happiness rests on kids that aren’t theirs, Steve and Eddie leave the country for the first time. Not Canada, not even Mexico. They take a Mediterranean cruise. Sure, it’s a boat filled with other old people, but Eddie and Steve have a blast.
Retirement is becoming a more and more real conversation and not a far-off, one-day situation and Steve picked out several cruises for them once they’ve got the free time. Eddie would follow him to the ends of the Earth but he did veto the 90-day cruise. It was too long to be on a boat.
For now, 2025 is upon them (not retirement). A year that once felt made up, even Doc Brown only traveled to 2015. Steve and Eddie had their whole family together and were teaching their daughter how to fake a New Year's celebration so her kids felt like they got to participate but no one had to stay up until actual midnight.
Both their kids whine and protest like they’re still five, complaining that the holiday parties they remembered were faked. Eddie points out she was whining much like they had, not wanting to stay up until some ungodly hour for the kids. It’s what parenthood is. One day their kids will throw a fit about it but they’ll remember the parties with fondness.
Steve falls asleep on New Year’s Day with all his grandkids in his lap, a collective naptime of people who’ve lost all semblance of time and lived off pizza. Eddie sends a picture to everyone they know. His kids post pictures on various sites, immortalize it in videos for the world to see, and Eddie grumbles about living in the moment.
Then he tries to fake the moment by pushing his kids to pose with their dad, with their kids, and pretend to sleep. Something that doesn’t work with adult children but Eddie had to try. Instead, he settled for getting his son to help him make the picture his lock screen before they went off to eat more cold pizza and let the others rest.
No one knows what the years to come will hold but if Eddie’s learned anything, it’s to not discount the surprises. There are still firsts to come but right now, he loves the boring, the bland, and the expected. He loves sitting in his dining room, picking veggies off his pizza like he’s always done, and listening to everything his kids have been up to.
Eventually, Steve will join them. Making their son-in-law get up from “his” chair like everyone had warned would happen. Still holding a sleeping baby against his chest because he had the magic ability to make babies fall asleep and the parents were thankful for the silence.
Neither Steve nor Eddie are sure if they’ve kissed so far this year but Steve plays footsie under the table, a sly smile on his face that Eddie’s sure he’s worn since the eighties, and everything feels right. This is what people are wishing each other when they say Happy New Year. He's lucky enough to have found it and know it's his for the rest of his life.

thoughts on convergence batgirl?
ah yes i did mention i have problems with it in a tag last night which i imagine prompted you asking this.
on the one hand, in 2015 it was a 'made me cry out of joy to see Steph back in the Batgirl suit at all' sort of thing, so i'll always have a certain fondness for it. i do think it has some good moments (like the one in that above linked post) plus Steph & Cass as roommates my beloved.
BUT the major problem I have is that I think the premise is inherently flawed—I think it's way too out of character for Steph to quit being Batgirl/a vigilante the way she is shown to have done once the dome appeared. And that sorta bleeds into the whole story, it's a driving force behind how Steph & co are dealing with the Convergence situation.
Steph’s resilience and unwillingness to ever give up anything—no matter what the world threw at her—had pretty much always been a defining characteristic for her. The only times prior she’d ever ‘given it [being a hero] up’ were temporarily while she was pregnant (because. obviously) and when it was entirely not her choice post-War Games (because Leslie faked her death and brought her to Africa, but basically the second she got back to Gotham she was being Spoiler again).
Being a hero is something she had to work so hard for. It's something that she was told to stop doing over and over again—by Bruce, by Tim, by fucking everyone—but it's the thing she wanted to do and it's the way she wanted to help, so by god she was gonna do it!
And once she became Batgirl, that determination to be a hero only intensified:
(Bruce Wayne: The Road Home — Batgirl #1)
Like... this is her last page before the reboot:
(Batgirl (2009) #24)
Literally saying 'it's only the end if you want it to be' in rebuttal to Babs mentioning an end, and following it up with 'Here we go' as she swings off into the early morning to keep Batgirl-ing—in her last appearance before continuity is about to reboot and make her disappear entirely for a few years. This page is like the clearest example of showing how Stephanie Brown is a character that will carry on being a hero—doing what she loves and thinks is right—even if things are ending all around her.
So I just can't comprehend looking at that and saying 'yeah, when an emergency hits, she's gonna give all this up ASAP'. It just feels like it contradicts the very nature of Steph's attitude on being a hero and will always rub me the wrong way.
Then, a smaller thing that also bugged me on the reread of Convergence Batgirl I just did is how Tim/Steph was handled.
Because they were apparently together as Red Robin and Batgirl pre-dome which then led to the 'Tim ghosting Steph because she quit being Batgirl' breakup... but them being together was not the case nor really the trajectory things were headed towards last we saw the post-crisis versions of them. They had never gotten officially back together after Steph's death in War Games—like there were a few kisses and obvious feelings that were still present when she was revealed to be alive right around Batman RIP, but after the shit that went wrong at the end of Robin '93 they were very much so NOT together anymore. And when they had the chance to get back together during the Red Robin/Batgirl crossover they very specifically didn't.
So it just feels like... IDK, randomly added in drama for the sake of drama, that felt like it didn't add anything meaningful to the story besides... connecting an action to the already-seeming-ooc 'Steph Quit' plot point. But like, I think there easily could have been a story of rekindling their actual old relationship—without adding in this off-panel getting back together and breaking up thing—that would have made them getting back together again at the end feel way more satisfying.

now personally, i think as far as compelling romantic dynamics go from yj98 i think i lean more towards cissie and cassie (ALSO anitas big ass crush on cissie lmao) + kon and bart (aka kon’s big ass crush on bart) but i will say i still enjoy tim and kon’s friendship in it.
they’re so funny because they so obviously like each other. they’re best friends! or at least kon considers tim his best friend! but they’re so so so bad at showing it. they would gag excessively if they knew about the “you’re my robin…” scene. wdym you’re saying you like that guy??? just tape his favorite show while he’s in space on an insane mission??? simply beat up (or attempt to beat up) a guy on his behalf multiple times???
i dunno i just feel like kon’s viewpoint on the importance of trust and tim not telling the team his real identity is really interesting to explore. especially paralleled with adventure comics #3. the way tim so easily pulls down his cowl v.s. how it felt like pulllng teeth for him every time kon brought up secret identity issues. and mind you! a lot of that was match, but it still obviously really hurt him! especially with the entirety of what happens in owaw! (my beloved <3)
i cannot for the life of me think of the issue number but during sins of youth when kon and clark are switched and they talk about clark not bringing up his secret identity. and despite his chill demeanor, kon seems pretty hurt by it. he likes to know he’s trusted. it’s kind of the same thing with the legion in early sb94. i think his lack of secret identity initially also plays into this. like, he can talk about everything in his personal life because, well, his personal life and professional life are essentially the same thing. now cut to tim complaining about having to lie to his dad. and his friends (including young justice and even bruce). and his girlfriend(s).
their dynamic is obviously heavily impacted by where they are in their lives at that point and it’s so compelling to me specifically.
+ the way kon latches onto being able to say tim’s real name soooo bad after wwyj. like. okay girl…!
#all this to say… i like when they r complicated :-)#kon el#tim drake#yj98#meta tag#i guess?#i’m really just ranting about kon#as one does#can u tell i wrote an entire fic about this topic :3#yj our worlds at war save me… save me yj our worlds at war…#dc#what’s bro yappin about#timkon#robin 93 tag#sb94 tag#long post

Recap #5 - One year Aniversary
OMG I found this in my drafts - I guess life happened. This is what I wrote in June 2022 (the 12th) XD:
----------- This was supposed to go up a month back but life happened so officially posponing my anniversary XD I can’t believe it’s already been a year now since I joined Ao3 and started this blog. I haven’t done any recaps since October 2021 so there’s a little more than 6 months to catch up on!
Ao3/Fanfiction
Totals User Subscriptions: 11 Kudos: 1062 Comment Threads: 93 Bookmarks: 96 Subscriptions: 41 Word Count: 20000 Works: 18 Hits: 21539
I did a thing where I worked very hard to write my last oneshot so that my word count would be exactly 20.000 - I cannot believe it!! I find it so cool that I have written this much! I still haven’t regained the output I had in the early days but that’s OK, maybe it was something like beginner’s luck or the IRL circumstances were perfect or something like that.
Tumblr/Pixiv/Fanart
#Myfanart #Ourfanart
The #Myfanart tag has a whopping 51 pieces not counting the 30 doodles that were the result of the Doodle Drabble Nights over at kakairu.rocks. Add to this maybe around 10 pieces that have not made it onto Tumblr for,,, reasons 🙃🙃🙃
I also got to do my very first art round robin and first art collab this year. I remember for the round robin I was so nervous and spent an insane amount of hours on coloring cause I did not want to disappoint XD
I also passed my Tumblr 200 followers milestone a bit back but I am still to make anything to celebrate it. Since 200 is a common ISO-standard film speed for photographic films - I guess this means we should do SUKEA 💜💜💜
Events/Activites
Fall Exchange Fungi 77 Min AU Architect Iruka’s Birthday Bingo
90 Mins Summer Stunner Iruka’s Winter Bingo 2021/2022 DTIYS
Doodle <--> Drabble Exchange Holiday Gift Exchange KakaIru Valentines Week Doodle Drabble Night KakaIru Reverse Bang 2022
Oh my, listing them up like that, that’s quite a number of events!!!
Closing notes-ish ----------- Looks like I never got to writing a closing note but that’s okay, I’m going to post this anyway, leave it as is for like a week and then back date it so it shows up correctly in my archive (I’m a stickler for that XD). I’ve actually been working on recaps going over the last year so I’ll be posting some more of those till I’m caught up. I like having a diary like this~ I’ve also still been struggling massively with creative blocks in both writing and drawing so I’m going to just focus on other aspects of fandom and see where is goes, you never know whe inspiration hits.
#Reminescing#anniversary#1 year anniversary#fandom anniversary#utterly self indulgent#nobody asked#spread the kakairu loove~~~
