Sometimes, there is no need for romance or intimacy between two characters.
Especially if 99% of the story isn't about that.

Found out the other day that Dan Brown wrote a wholesome children's book which feels very uncanny after reading the intense and sometimes gore events from his other books (or maybe not idk I'm a very slow reader)

Inferno by Dan Brown
This is a part of the Robert Langdon series (4th book) And it's the only one I own (rest i've read online) but it's brilliant.
It's the story of Robert Langdon and Dr. Sienna Brooks who involve in a deadly chase across Florence to find the secret of Dante's Inferno and a deadly virus.
I loved both this book and the whole series so I definitely recommend it to all the history lovers and also to the people who want to read something brain-burstingly intellectual.....

Noiselandco 2019-2024
I'm taking a break from YouTube to work on other secret things but I am archiving everything and it reminded me just how much I did in the past five years. Here's a recap thread of all the series I've looked at:
Tumblr media
#1 - The Simpsons
You might say this effort started back in 2002, and the YouTube channel exists just because I wanted a place to upload random Simpsons video game trailers and such. But the focused video creation began with this series in 2019.
Tumblr media
#2 - Star Trek Deep Space Nine
I enjoyed working on the Simpsons videos and thought, hey, there's other licensed games. It was only natural for me to move on Star Trek DS9 aka the best Star Trek show. There were only four games based on it but they run the gamut from platformer to adventure to RTS.
Tumblr media
#3 - The Books of Dan Brown
It was time to branch out from television to the world of fine* literature. I'd always wanted to read Dan Brown's books and I did and I don't recommend you ever do this. But the movies are neat and there were more games than you can imagine based on those movies.
Tumblr media
#4 - King of the Hill
This was an exercise in wringing as much from a single video game as possible. King of the Hill for PC has the Lovercraftian quality of driving people mad when they look upon it and I expressed that madness by making video after video about it.
Tumblr media
#5 - Young Indiana Jones
I would never try to play every single Indiana Jones video game but a subset of games featuring the character as a child, sure. The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles was a short TV series from the mid-90s that explored why Indy lacked parental supervision.
Tumblr media
#6 - Goosebumps
Another dip into the literary world and a fine excuse to go back and read all those Goosebumps books I skipped the moment I turned 13 and was too cool for them. Surprise, they're still hella fun to read. And there were *so* many video games based on those books.
Tumblr media
#7 - The Collective
I kept coming across The Collective during my research. I discovered nearly their entire catalog was licensed games and thought that examining a single studio's output would be enlightening. Dunno if I achieved enlightenment, but the mix of games was fascinating.
Tumblr media
#8 - Mighty Max
Another excuse to run through an old cartoon show that I never got to watch in full. There weren't many games based on the toy/cartoon franchise, and the few that released weren't all that great, and... I forgot where I was going with this. They exist?
Tumblr media
#9 - Gargoyles
Doubling down on the cartoon nostalgia by subscribing to Disney+ just so I could watch this show. It's a helluva cartoon and the second season in particular is a tour de force of weekday afternoon animation. The games are hit and mostly miss, but still intriguing.
Tumblr media
#10 - Dr. Slump
I'd been mired in American creations and needed to branch out. Perhaps Akira Toriyama? DBZ was intimidating so I instead decided to venture into his first big manga, Dr. Slump. I discovered a charming and very funny series that really woke me up to the greatness of Toriyama.
Tumblr media
#10 - Frankenstein
Just like I'd spent too much time researching works created by Americans, I was also spending too much time on things created by men. I picked Frankenstein by Mary Shelley as a work created by a woman and crashed into the more than 85 video games based on her landmark novel.
Tumblr media
#11 - Hey, I Was There!
This ongoing series is really just a self-indulgent excuse to play licensed games I worked on such as 50 Cent Bulletproof, Ice Age 2 The Meltdown, and Predator Concrete Jungle. Video game classics that we all remember fondly, right?!

The hill on which I will fight Ron Howard to the death on
(Spoilers for Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code ahead) Allow me to take a moment of your time to rant about the nonsensical-ness of Ron Howard's Robert Langdon movie trilogy. But first, let us pray:
Tumblr media
God bless Ewan Macgregor ripping off his sexy priest collar to brand his sexy self with a sexy illuminatus fire poker. Ron Howard, WHY did you wait and make The Da Vinci Code first? Amen.
I. Logic
Dude. Dan Brown wrote and released Angels and Demons first. Why did you start with making the Da Vinci Code movie? If it was because the second book was more controversial (granted, it's a huge thing to write a book based on the idea that Jesus Christ had a child), but COME ON. Angels and Demons wrote about a pope being pro artificial insemination! The pope supported it bc he was in such a loving relationship with a nun that they wanted a child! And couldn't, so they went with artificial insemination! WHAT.
And if it was because there was no goal to make another Robert Langdon movie, and this was supposed to be a standalone movie until yall saw how successful it was, I uh call bullshit. Bc the plot for Angels and Demons was fuckin awesome bro I will expand on this later.
II. Plot
We're expanding on it now. How could you read the first book and think "eh?" THE CARMALENGO SET HIMSELF ON FIRE DUDE. Upon finding out he was the son of the pope, he ran through the Vatican to set himself ON FIRE. The Angels and Demons movie was fun and awesome, but if you wanted a pulse-ripping cinematic experience, you should've been more loyal to the book bro. The book had Ewan Macgregor and Tom Hanks jump out of a helicopter (where was this in the movie Ron?). The book had Ewan Macgregor have a David Copperfield-type reveal where spotlights revealed him standing above a crowd with his hands raised up, making him appear to have fucking teleported before the very eyes of the media (where was this in the movie RON?). The book had Tom Hanks fly through the air on a magical carpet ride only to land exhausted in a hospital (WHERE WAS THIS IN THE MOVIE RON?). The book had so, so much dude, it was destined for the screen. This could've been an easy win for starting a sensical Robert Langdon movie series.
III. Down the Road Issues
Why were only books 1, 2, and 4 adapted? Aren't there like, 5 books in the series? Idk why The Lost Symbol was skipped, but I'm reading it now to see if I can see why. Bc that's just a weird thing bro. I kinda see why Origin wasn't adapted, because Inferno kinda sucked with the critics, but TOO LATE RON. If you're gonna make an adapted film series, you gotta commit it to win it. You're supposed to take my hand and pull me through all Robert Landon chronicles to the end of the story. End of story. Give Tom Hanks an underappreciated, COMPLETE movie series that will only become more beloved in time. It is inevitable, bc they're just too gosh darn fun.
IV. Thank you, Ron
That being said, the movies are fun, and I'm glad they were adapted by a director as fun and unpretentious as you. Thank you Ron Howard for spreading the hot priest wealth across the two movies, with Alfred Molina and Ewan Macgregor. You're a genius and a gem.
