Things. A summary.
Watched Willy wonka with my son. First time for him. Realized grandpa Joe and the rest of the old schmoes are the biggest bums ever. EVER. baby Charlie gives him TOBACCO money. And that man can’t even get out of bed. WHO IS GONNA GO BUY THE TOBACCO, Joe?
Also who sleeps in a bed for 20 years with the same smelly people. Gross.
Why do all of the couples have male/female name equivalents. Was this in the book? Joe. Josephine. Henry. Henrietta.
Veruca salt was perfectly cast. Classic bitch. Love to see it. Give her all the awards. EGOT, level unlocked.
Gene wilder is GOAT and delivers every line perfectly.
And yet…here I was, thinking about that odd-looking chef-man person with 2 first names and a color for his name. (You know who) that looks exactly like gene. But I’m still not into said 3 namer.
I don’t like timothee. (I don’t like most people 😂😂). MEH. Don’t know how I feel about the new wonka.
@oh-my-damn came across your vile and terrifying veneers thing and cannot unsee. Also RE: wigs and teeth comment. Dying.
I need more recipes to try out. Eventually.
Had so many meetings I felt like being a vegetable after work. Just. 😵‍💫
Unfollowed a very old friend on social media bc I’m tired. TIRED of people defending unborn, non fully formed fetuses without consideration for the fact that government should not, in fact, try to govern women’s bodies. But please Emily, tell everyone how people should DELIVER them, instead. Regardless of the circumstances. GO TEBOW SOMEWHERE ELSE 😤🤬
Thinking of reading the bridgerton series. Opinions? Queen Charlotte was fantastic, btw.
Hoping to get over the hump of the initial new job responsibility scaries. Whew.
Not done Xmas shopping.
Weird bloggers are interesting to creep on.
I’ve blocked tags on CE, Sydney Sweeney. Glen Powell. Margot Robbie, Taylor and Travis. (But also I still sometimes check under the tag 😂😂) bc they all easily annoy me HAHA
Lastly, Colin Farrell is a gem. That is all

Tim Tebow and His Brother Robby Producing Inspirational Sports Drama "Run the Race"
Tumblr media
Tim Tebow is adding another hyphen to his impressive list of life accolades: filmmaker. The Heisman Trophy winner, NFL quarterback, pro baseball player and best-selling author has completed filming on his first movie, serving as executive producer with his older brother Robby Tebow on "Run the Race." The film wrapped in April and is finalizing post-production as the filmmakers work out the theatrical release. "It's exciting," Tebow tells USA TODAY of his foray into film. "I’ve received a lot of scripts over the years. But I haven’t always wanted to be in filmmaking. I want to do the right films, films that will encourage or inspire or move people." [caption id="attachment_456003" align="aligncenter" width="2873"] Tanner Stine stars as Zach getting ready for the big game in "Run the Race." (Photo: RUN THE RACE LLC)[/caption] [caption id="attachment_456002" align="aligncenter" width="1815"] Executive producer Robby Tebow, left, with his film's stars, Evan Hofer and Tanner Stine, on the set of "Run the Race." (Photo: RUN THE RACE LLC)[/caption] The inspirational film focuses on a theme familiar to the 31-year-old devout Christian, who battled the odds in his bid to make it in professional baseball with the New York Mets in 2016, before suffering a season-ending broken bone in his right hand last month. "Run the Race" follows two fictional high school brothers whose father abandons them after their mother dies. All-State high school football player Zach (Tanner Stine) earns a college scholarship, but receives a devastating injury. Brother David (Evan Hofer) laces up his track cleats to salvage their future and show what's possible when you run to – instead of from – the love of God. "There are a lot of similarities in my life between two brothers supporting one another, having each other's back, believing in one another," says Tebow, the youngest of five children. "My family and my brother have always given me so much support. That’s made such a big impact on me being able to go after my dreams." The film stars "Forrest Gump" actor Mykelti Williamson as the boys’ coach and Frances Fisher as their surrogate mother. Former NFL running back Eddie George plays a college recruiter. Screenwriter and producer Jake McEntire pitched the idea of getting the Tebow brothers involved and "we jumped on the opportunity, wholeheartedly," says Robby, 36. He served as his brother's liaison on the set in Birmingham, Alabama, working with director Chris Dowling and communicating frequently with Tim, who was traveling constantly for baseball. Florida’s biggest problem for the last decade has been QB play. Well, good QBs are new head coach Dan Mullen’s claim to fame
The Gators haven’t had much good QB play since he left, while his Mississippi State teams found three-stars in the Tim Tebow mold.
The Florida Gators have had two peak eras of college football. The first was under Steve Spurrier from 1990 to 2001, when they went 122-27-1 with six SEC titles and one national championship running the fun-and-gun offense. The next was with Urban Meyer from 2005 to 2010, when they won two more SEC titles and two national championships with Meyer’s spread offense.
Those were identified by Heisman-winning QBs Danny Wuerffel (1996) and Tim Tebow (2007). Wuerffel started for most of four years and threw for 3,625 yards and 39 TDs in 1996 in an offense that foreshadowed explosive and vertical spread offenses of today at schools like Oklahoma State. Tebow was a situational player for one and starter for three, scoring 97 total TDs in 2007-2008 and establishing a new model in which the QB executes both passing plays and inside runs.
Since Meyer left, Florida has been lackluster, with two fired head coaches and a constant stream of QBs who ended up being better elsewhere or at other positions. The Gators have failed to put a single QB on any All-SEC list and only came close to having truly good QB play for a six-game stretch in 2015, before eventual West Virginia QB Will Grier was suspended.
The Gators have had some strong offensive lines, including under Jim McElwain, and promising skill players. They’ve also been ranked as a top-10 defense by S&P+ on four occasions this decade, never lower than 35th (2011) until this season, when they dropped to 55th amidst program turmoil.
Saying Florida hasn’t had good QB play since Tebow left translates to saying the Gators haven’t been good without a QB coached by Dan Mullen, who left after 2008. If there’s causation in that correlation, we’re about to find out.
Mullen brings back the Meyer offense.
Mullen has a reputation as a QB guru, the ideal reputation to have in today’s job market. Mullen’s Bulldogs didn’t really start to put that together until 2013, when they plugged in a young Dak Prescott and, over the two following years, landed two of the five top-15 AP Poll finishes in school history. Then replaced him with Nick Fitzgerald, a decent passer who’s run for 2,359 yards and 19 TDs in the last two seasons.
This scheme is sort of like blending two seemingly contradictory schools of offense: a Bill Snyder Wildcat and Mike Leach’s air raid. Under Prescott and Fitzgerald the last four seasons, the QB has averaged 380 pass attempts and 182 rushing attempts and led the team in carries every year save for 2017, when Aeris Williams got 224 to Fitzgerald’s 162.
Mullen is on record explaining that he’ll adapt his offense to different skill sets at QB, as he looks to sell fans who are concerned about the lack of dual-threats on the roster. That said, he’s been most successful with big QBs who can run between the tackles 10 times a game. His ability to find guys who can handle that while mastering all of the concepts needed to execute a spread passing attack and spread run game has been the secret to his success.
Mullen’s own words on the topic are pretty instructive.
He’s noted the need for QBs who don’t need to “look over to the sidelines after they say 'hut’” but who “already know what they are checking to do.” There are a lot of concepts within the Mullen offense, and a QB who understands them all is invaluable.
The main thrust is the option run game on standard downs, which can feature the RB, with the QB keeping the defense honest via a keep or pass option:
From there, Mullen teaches his QBs standard play-action plays and some traditional drop-back passing concepts from the spread, some of it inspired by the air raid offense and much of it just standard best practices in attacking modern coverages.
The trump card of the offense, though, is the QB run game that makes third-and-short a near certainty.
As you see on this play, Alabama is playing man coverage on the three receivers and committing everyone else on the defense to the box to stop the run. The Tide still fail to stop Fitzgerald before a nice gain, let alone the marker.
This is what has really made the Mullen offense stand out from other spread systems: his willingness and means of using the QB as a featured runner to guarantee a numbers advantage in the box.
How will this go at Florida?
One obvious issue is that the Gators have a cast recruited to run a pro-style offense, particularly at QB, where their main options in 2018 are redshirt sophomore-to-be Feleipe Franks and some even younger, pro-style pocket passers. The 6’, 225-pound Malik Zaire ran well at Notre Dame and would be a decent fit, but he’d need to apply for and gain a sixth season of eligibility from the NCAA.
On the bright side, both Fitzgerald and Prescott were lightly recruited prospects, and Mississippi State didn’t have to compete with major SEC programs of Florida’s caliber to secure their commitments.
.@rick_cleveland asked Dan Mullen who they had to beat out in recruiting to land Nick Fitzgerald. This was his response & it's glorious. http://pic.twitter.com/fFZGJwyVFq
— Robby Donoho III (@RobbyDonoho) November 27, 2016
There is a question of how long it’ll be until the Gators have a Mullen-type QB on campus.
But he’s made a QB transition work before.
In year one at Florida, Mullen made the most out of having a veteran passer in Chris Leak, and in year two, started to work in freshmen Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin to boost the run game and create the kind of option-oriented attack the Gators ultimately wanted.
They won a title with Leak because the senior was a savvy passer, they still used Tebow and Harvin to make third downs and goal-line situations more of a sure thing and to add explosiveness, and they had an elite defense. Florida could very well be great on defense early under Todd Grantham, but how well Mullen adapts to this offensive roster will be curious.
If he can get Zaire to return or find a crafty-and-tough QB from the JUCO ranks or grad transfer market, there’s a lot in place to allow a quick turnaround. The bet on Mullen is a bet that he can find another overlooked, quick-thinking, tough, and imposing QB and get him to Gainesville sooner than it took him to get Prescott in Starkville.

Fantasy Football buys, sells based off red zone stats
yahoo
Let’s focus on the area of the field that makes all fantasy players sit on the edge of their seats: the red zone. Who is targeted, gets the goal-line carries, which teams predominantly run or pass there, which teams score the most TDs on a percentage basis and, most importantly for predicting future scoring opportunities, which teams get into the red zone most frequently.
Let’s start with the most important stat we have: red zone possessions per game. This stat comes courtesy of TeamRankings.com. All other stats are via Pro-Football-Reference.
The Rams lead the NFL with 4.4 red zone possessions per game. They are not converting a high number into TDs — their rate 48.4% is below the average of 53.2%. Look at quarterback Jared Goff, who has just eight red zone TDs. That seems good but Carson Wentz has 12 even though he’s leading the Eagles into the red zone about one less time per game (more on why later). This could easily flip going forward; Goff’s red zone rating is 101.
[Join the free NFL Yahoo Cup. Over $100K in total prizes with weekly winners]
The Steelers have the greatest variance in red zone possessions and success rate at converting touchdowns. If they were merely average at converting, they’d have 0.4 more TDs per game. On the other end of the spectrum are the insanely red zone efficient Packers (0.7 more red zone TDs per game than expected, meaning if they converted at a league average rate) and the Cowboys (0.54). Of course you’d fade the Packers now that Aaron Rodgers is out indefinitely. The Cowboys are built to score in the red zone because running well there tends to correlate to superior efficiency. But the Texans and Eagles are scoring about four more points per game than expected just due to red zone efficiency. And, again, bet frequency not efficiency.
Offenses you have to worry about going forward due to a dearth of quality scoring opportunities are obvious ones like the Bears, Jets, Dolphins and Giants. But Oakland and Tennessee also rate very poorly at 2.1 and 2.4 red zone trips per game, respectively. The last three weeks the Bears have an incredibly anemic 0.7 red zone trips per game. Sell Jordan Howard high, please. Chicago had five first downs on Sunday and John Fox treated Mitchell Trubisky (four completions on just seven attempts) like he was Tim Tebow (who Fox also coached).
Marcus Mariota has yet to throw a TD pass in the red zone, which is quite incredible. I’d advise to bet on a correction if the Titans were getting there more. Jacoby Brissett has been sacked more times in the red zone (which begins at the 19 yard line, not the 20), four, than he has TD passes there (two).
The NFL average is 54% passing plays in the red zone. Outlier teams on the pass-heavy side are the Cardinals (71%), Lions (68%) and Seahawks (65%). Of course all bets are off with the Cardinals with Carson Palmer out. But betting on Matthew Stafford and Russell Wilson to throw more TDs going forward seems wise. But you need a slight correction in possessions, too, as their teams rank 25th and 20th currently in the red zone possessions stat.
I define goal-line plays as plays from the the opponent’s three-yard line and in. Jay Ajayi does not have a goal-line run yet. The Dolphins have thrown on their two plays there. Goff is obviously hurt by not throwing in close — just one of 10 plays. Seattle has thrown on six of 10 goal-line plays — what is it with Pete Carroll not liking to run on the goal-line? The Eagles have a league-leading 18 goal-line plays. The 49ers, shockingly, are next with 16. The Dolphins and Bengals each have two, not too surprising given their offensive woes.
The story here is that the Chiefs have just four total goal-line plays even though they have gotten into the red zone three times per game. They also have a lot of long TDs. Still, this stat is hurting Kareem Hunt especially (one goal-line run, which he converted). Carlos Hyde has 10 (converting five). Other leaders are LeGarrette Blount and Todd Gurley (8 each), Leonard Fournette and Mike Gillislee (seven each) and Melvin Gordon and Devonta Freeman (six each).
Blount is setting a record for futility on the goal line, where he made a living last year. He’s lost five yards on those eight attempts and scored one TD. Blount’s failings on first down are the reason why Wentz, four TDs inside the five, is feasting in close.
Note that inside the 3-yard line, teams run 60% overall. On first down it’s 68% — the Eagles are 7-for-7 running on first down in these spots but because Blount has been so bad, zero touchdowns. Forty years ago, teams always ran in these situations but this year 23 of 37 first down pass attempts here are TDs (62%) vs. only 27 of 79 runs (34.2%)
The red zone target leaders are Davante Adams, Larry Fitzgerald and Dez Bryant (12 each). But 11 of Bryant’s have been thrown into the end zone, which is incredible. Next in red zone targets is Cooper Kupp with 11 and Chris Hogan with 10. Cameron Brate has nine  — and so does Keenan Allen; note eight of Allen’s have been into the end zone so there’s no reason why he should not be expected to score touchdowns going forward. Tyreek Hill has one red zone target; I’d view that as a bullish number because that can only get better (and Hill has been productive anyway).
Speedy receivers DeSean Jackson and Robby Anderson have six end zone targets each, which is a positive development for projecting their future value since you know they can score from distance.
On the negative side, Adam Thielen has not had an end zone target (he has five red zone targets, catching none).
And remember how Jarvis Landry couldn’t score? He has caught five of six red zone targets for three touchdowns.
