no pressure at all but just so you know I personally would be so excited if you wanted to write a regency heist fic 🤍
well-versed in etiquette, extraordinarily nice
Once she had said to him, hoping to probe: “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.”  To which Mr Crowley had only responded: “What do you know of the universe, Miss Austen?”  Now, as they waited for the jeweller in Hatton Diamonds to return, Jane said: “I have no intention of entering a state of wedlock, Mr Crowley, any more than you do. There are less capricious ways of securing one’s fortune.” Mr Crowley flashed her a toothsome grin. In moments like this, Jane thought he very much resembled a serpent.

Left for Dead
Read on Ao3
For Whumptober 2024 Prompt 14: Left for Dead
tw for depression, suicidal thoughts, assault, theft, injury
Knuckles’ people had been searching for the Master Emerald for hundreds of years.  Hundreds of years of war and death and suffering.  War that had claimed all of his tribe until only he remained.
And he had the gall to lose hope.
Knuckles trudged through the desert sand, feeling miserable and hot and ashamed of himself for complaining.  He had started this particular leg of his quest with such enthusiasm.  It had seemed so promising: legends of a huge green gem hidden deep in the desert.   The stories specifically said that it was ‘hidden’.  When he found there was supposedly a tribe of owls living in the desert too, it seemed like he had finally found his quarry.
Knowing there would be next to nothing to forage, he’d stocked up before leaving.  He acquired some pale wrappings to cover himself from the harsh sun.  Gathered dry foods that would keep well and containers for water.  He set out carrying enough for a week’s journey.
It took two weeks.
He learned much in those two weeks.  He learned it was best to travel by night and dig burrows deep in the sand during the day.  He learned if he dug deep enough he might find water.  And he learned that anything edible that crossed his path, be it cactus or insect or snake, needed to be eaten… but with caution.
When he saw the stone cliffs in the distance, his only thought was that he might find a shady resting place that he wouldn’t have to dig himself.  Then he entered the canyon and found what could only be the desert’s green gem.  It wasn’t the Master Emerald.  It was a lush oasis.
Knuckles immediately drank his fill of water.  He was so happy to wash the sand from his mouth that he flung himself out into the pool.  He floated on his back, staring up at the moon, until his skin began to prune.  Then he trudged back onto land and carefully perused the little trees and shrubs that dotted the green patch.  He ate his fill of what fruits and nuts he could vaguely identify as edible.
It was hard to be glum when his belly was finally full, but without the pressing need to survive, Knuckles’ thoughts caught up with him.  Namely, what he should do next.
Knuckles sat on the shore of the oasis’ great pool and looked out into the distance where he could see towering sand dunes.  In the dark, the moon didn’t quite illuminate the distant sands so they loomed like shadows against the starry night.
The next logical step was to gather supplies–more this time–and then turn around and go back the way he came.  But he was so tired.  This failure was the newest among many and not the first time he’d nearly perished for naught.
At least if he died, he’d be able to rejoin his people.
It was a thought he’d had many times.  Every time he went into battle, was trapped, attacked, or betrayed, faced starvation or pain or hatred, he always reminded himself that if he was killed then at least he would rejoin his tribe on the great battleground in the sky.  But still, he soldiered on.  He was the last of his people, who would find the Master Emerald if not him?  So no matter what the universe threw at him, he picked himself up and kept going.
And that’s just what he did.
He started by gathering supplies.  He climbed the stubby trees and picked their seeds.  The fruits he left, they wouldn’t keep long in the heat and might spoil the rest of his rations.  He filled his water pouches.  Unlike his rucksack, he could not overfill the pouches.  He would leave the oasis with as much water as he’d started his journey with (which hadn’t been enough).  He would simply have to commit himself to stretching them as long as possible and take any opportunity to hunt for more along the way.
During the day he slept.  At dusk, he set out once more.  He didn’t know where he might next hunt for the Master Emerald, but that didn’t matter.  His goal now was simply to get out of this desert alive.
He followed his footprints back.  Some of the burrows he had dug still stood and he used them as shelter during the day.  On the second day the footprints became fainter.  The subtle winds shifted the sands just enough to obscure his steps.  On the third day, he lost his trail several times.  He hiked up dunes to look at the leeward side and was able to find his tracks a few times this way, but it took longer.  He hadn’t made good time by the end of the day.  By the fourth day his tracks were gone entirely.  He could only follow the stars and hope the desert’s edge was near.
He wasn’t taking the exact route back, this much was obvious when he saw the outcrop in the distance.  The towering stones reminded him of the place where he had found the oasis and so he headed in that direction, feeling hopeful that he might at least extend his rations a few more days.
His path led him down the center of a stone canyon.  The winds had carved strange shapes from the rock and the moon threw odd shadows.  Knuckles had seen no people or large predators since he began his journey.  The worst to fear here were snakes.  As long as he kept clear of their hiding places he had nothing to fear.  As he walked, he listened only for the sounds of running water.  He sniffed the breeze for any trace of greenery.  He found none, but pressed on.  The oasis had been hidden, any other sanctuaries might be as well.
He didn’t know how long he had wandered when the quills on the back of his neck stood up.  He’d heard something on the cliffs overhead.  Something big.
Knuckles held up his fists and backed away, trying to get a look at what was above him.  He should have minded what was behind him.
The next thing he knew he was on the ground.  Something stood on his back.  Sharp claws pulled at his bag.  His supplies!  Panic caused his quills to flare and his attacker jumped back.  For a moment, the canyon was illuminated.
Knuckles looked up only to recoil in horror.  Small, curved beaks sat below huge, black eyes, resting in round, feathered faces.  Owls.  But… not the owl warriors he’d known.  They wore no armor and they were smaller, just a little bigger than him in body, but with such long legs they towered over him.
His glow faded and the flap of wings cut the air.  The light that had illuminated them had also left him seeing stars.  He swung wildly and hit nothing.  He drew on his power and red sparks arced across his fist.  His next strike delivered a glancing blow, the owl staggered and then used those long legs to dart out of range.
Claws snatched at his rucksack.  With one powerful wingbeat he was lifted off the ground.  In a moment, the canyon was below him.  The owl flung him and the rucksack strap snapped.  Knuckles hit the canyon wall.  He rolled down a few feet before he struck out with a fist and caught himself on his spurs.
The owls closed in.
Knuckles kicked off the cliff with enough stretch to shatter the stone behind him.  The rubble and burst of dust sent the birds scattering.  Knuckles spread his quills and glided away.  The desert wind caught him and his hopes lifted as the canyon fell away behind him.  But of course, he could not fly like an owl could.
He was hit from above and then from the side.  The flurry of wings buffeted him and kept him airborne. Claws raked his side as they went for one of his waterskins.  Knuckles struggled, trying to pull the claws away but keep the pouch.   The second owl grabbed him around the middle and they both pulled.  Knuckles was ripped away from his water pouch.
Knuckles struggled, flipping onto his back in midair so he could punch.  But the owl merely straightened it's stupidly long legs and tucked in its wings.  They began to fall.  Knuckles grabbed at the claws around his middle and bucked and heaved.  The claws merely tightened and he felt the talons pierce skin.  He screamed.
His cry was cut short as he hit the ground.  The owl’s weight drove all the air out of him and he realized with swift panic that he couldn’t inhale.  Then they all descended on him.
One raked its claws over him to take his second waterskin.  Knuckles feebly tried to cover it.  Another owl grabbed his arm, hooking its claws into him.  It pulled away so sharply he thought the flesh would be torn from bone.  He lost his second waterskin.  Claws cut all over him, searching for more supplies and ripping through the thin cloth he’d used to protect himself from the sun.  It was no protection from owl claws!  With the owl on top of him, he couldn’t even curl into a ball for defense..
Darkness began to infringe on his vision.  It had nothing to do with the night though.  He couldn’t breathe.  He was bleeding from a dozen places.  The world began to slide away.
The last thing he felt was weightlessness.  The owl lifted him up only to toss away like some worthless, used-up thing.  Knuckles hit the ground and rolled across the sands.  He gasped for air and choked on sand.  He did not see the owls depart, but he heard their wings flapping away and knew he would be hearing that sound in his nightmares for weeks to come.
***
Knuckles was almost surprised to wake up again.  He tried to move and groaned in pain.  Every part of him that wasn’t cut was bruised.  He cracked his eyes open to see the lavender sky.  The sun would rise soon.  He needed to find shelter.  He needed to find water.  He needed to find food.
He lay there instead.
The sky grew brighter and brighter.  He kept thinking that he should get up and find someplace safe and cool to rest for the day.  To regroup his strength.  But… What if he didn’t?  What if he just lay there and let the sun scorch him into nothing?  No one would notice.  No one would care.
Knuckles stared up and watched the sky grow lighter and lighter.  He was just so tired.  And what was left for him to keep fighting for?  He couldn’t survive another two weeks to get out of this place.  He’d hardly survived the initial journey and he’d had supplies!  Maybe it would be better to just lay here.  Let the desert take him.
If he died here, at least he’d be with his tribe again.
But… If Knuckles died here then that meant his people had failed.  Hundreds of years of struggle only to fall short because Knuckles wasn’t strong enough to pick himself up again!  How could he face his father on the great battlefield in the sky if he gave up?  His father hadn’t given up.  None of them had.  They had all died for the Master Emerald–what right did Knuckles have to give up?
They hadn’t left him behind just so he could choose to die.
Knuckles rolled over.  He was in a fair bit of pain, but he wasn’t bleeding anymore.  He could go on.  He would go on.  He picked himself up and kept going.

i published my little fanfic about Adrian the sexy bastard from Daylight Robbery, about when he is in prison after the series, and gets punished :].
the fic is very explicit porn. and there are some slightly negative/dark things happening in it too. so it's not for everyone.
do keep in mind that this takes place in a prison, and some of the people are kinda messed up, including Adrian (sexy but evil).
also, i'm not very good at writing so don't expect greatness.

Old friends not worth keeping
Whumptober 2024, Day 3: Set Up For Failure, Fingerprints, Wrongfully Arrested, "I warned you."
Summary: Legend’s past has come back to drag him into something he had thought to have left behind him. Time is not going to let that happen and he’s ready to risk his life to keep his boy in the new life and path he’s gained.
CW: Blood, getting beaten (both good guys and bad guys), framed for a crime, toxic friendship, cursing, threatening one’s family, murder, kidnapping, held hostage, fear of needles,
Notion: - Time does NOT have Fierce’s markings. He’ll get them MUCH later. Yet, he does have lost his right eye and there’s the scar over his right eye. - I am throwing in lot of stuff by police TV series as well as my own common sense. I have no idea if any of this would hit true or wise but it just seems like something that Time would certainly find worthy of doing to keep his boy safe and sound and have evidence of specific conversations and such. - Luck Bird = Siberian Jay - Expanding my (in AO3) story's “Snippets for Ranch Family” number 27: “I thought you, of all people, would understand why I did what I did.”. It changed a bit but in overall same stuff.
Legend’s name’s explanations: - Tariku means "his history, his story" in Amharic. (With this I thought about the word “legend”) - Derived from French, Beaumont translates to ‘beautiful mountain’, suggesting origins from a picturesque hill area. This surname likely originated from individuals residing near such scenic landscapes.

Time stood up straight from aiding Wind with his homework when he heard the front door opening and closing. “Just in time. The dinner’s ready in a moment.” He called while heading towards the door to check on the second boy he had adopted. Legend had been out with some friends but he had promised to return for the meal. None of the residents of the Lon-Lon Ranch wanted to miss Wild’s cooking.
The one eyed male jerked and gasped in shock the moment his gaze fell into the youngster. “LEGEND!” He screamed out and dashed over to the boy before already crouching down to get a better check on the bloodied face of his. “Dear Goddesses! The hell’s happened?!” He almost shouted while gently moving the younger one’s head to see the damage.
“T-Time…” Legend whispered with broken voice while crying.
“Sssh, you’re gonna be okay.” The owner of the ranch whispered before getting up. “Twilight, you’re in charge! Everyone stays inside until we’re back!” He commanded straight off while already grabbing his keys and jacket. “And you’re going to hospital on this second.” He stated out while getting swiftly ready to leave the house with the bleeding boy in the entry of the house.
“T-Time, please, no…” Legend begged while grabbing his arms. “Y-you gotta listen…” He pleaded before flinching as the sound of alarms of police cars approached. “I’m framed! I didn’t...!” He exclaimed before flinching again as the car doors were slammed shut. He jerked and hid behind the taller male when there was a very rough knock, almost like banging, on the door.
“Open up! This is the police!” The call came from the other side.
Time almost growled as he stood up. “Stay behind me.” He commanded while gently but firmly taking hold of the boy’s arm. He glanced behind when the four other youngsters came over in worry and slight fear. Their guardian swiftly showed to stay put before turning his notion to the door. “If you wish to get inside then calm the fuck down!” He commanded very roughly while knowing he certainly startled the people on the other side of the door.
Time very carefully opened the door before straight off backing away and making sure his wounded boy was behind him fully and thoroughly. The police opened the door roughly before their hard gaze already fell into the youngster hiding behind the one eyed male. “You’d better talk or I’ll sue you all for trespassing and cornering a wounded boy.” The ranch’s owner snarled and managed to snap the three guy’s gazes up into him.
“We are here to arrest Link Tariku Beaumont.” One of the men stated out.
Time almost smirked at that. “Sorry, no-one by that name lives in here.” He stated out firmly. “The kid you’re harassing at the moment is named as Legend LonRan. And he’s going to hospital and not to jail.” He started firmly while almost snarling the last line.
Legend was trembling behind his guardian while he got ready to leave the house. “Touch him and I’ll sue you all for harassment, assault, deprivation of liberty and denial of his guardian to stay by him.” He stated out roughly while glaring at the trio by his doorsteps. “Get the fuck off the way or I’ll add blocking one’s doorway into the list.” He growled while letting his harsh glare go from one police to another.
Surprisingly the trio moved off the way and let Time and Legend through. “Twilight, lock the door!” He commanded before pushing the door shut. He kept close check on the trio while making his way to his car and keeping Legend behind him.
“One of us rides with you two.” One of the police commanded.
Time couldn’t really do anything else than nod. Yet, his rough gaze almost froze the policeman to his place as he followed the duo. “Land your hand on my boy and I will defend him.” He warned with deathly cold voice. The policeman nodded in understanding and slumped beneath the one eyed male’s gaze.
“Don’t say a word, Legend.” Time advised as they got into the car and started to head out of the ranch. “We’ll need more people to hear your words so it won’t be just word against word.” He explained while feeling very slightly bit grateful when one of the police cars drove before them and one was behind. “Your friend better be leading to a hospital or you’re all in huge fucking trouble.” He told and the policeman on the backseat just nodded silently.
The police did escort them to the hospital and Time stayed by Legend whole time while making sure the police didn’t get anywhere near the youngster. He pushed his fear of needles out of the window and forced himself to stay still and not trembling and flinching as the wounds were being stitched. After all, it wasn’t him being fixed but his boy and he needed to be there for moral support at the moment.
Eventually Legend was laying on the hospital bed with Time sitting on the bed to stay as a blockage between the police and his boy. He had managed to keep the doctor and couple of the nurses by them too to listen the upcoming conversation of sorts. “I’m recording this conversation in case the proof will be needed.” The one eyed male stated out firmly while putting his phone into a charger to keep it alive as long as needed and put it to record. After that he took once a deep breath. “This is the conversation, or interrogation as you police would call it, between Legend LonRan, Sprite “Time” LonRan and the three policemen whom are… State your names and badge numbers, thank you.” He stared and the trio did as asked even though they were bit startled of how well Time was aware of the possible charges to throw in, the possible need of witnesses and recorded conversation along with everything else. Time gave out the date and the time before nodding to the three policemen. “So, what are the charges you are up for placing against Legend LonRan?”
The trio glanced at each other before gulping once. Something in this man guarding the one they should be arresting was terrifying. His whole demeanor was screaming for others to listen and follow his command. He was a clear leader and demanded for respect without saying or showing it.
“We are charging him with a robbery gone wrong.” One of the policemen finally started. “The owner of the small grocery shop was killed. He—“
“I DIDN’T DO THAT!” Legend screamed in near terror.¨
“Shush, Ledge.” Time commanded gently while raising his hand up. “Continue.” He stated out and nodded to the policemen.
“He was seen fleeing the crime scene. His fingerprints are all over the murder weapon.” Another policeman told while bit wondering why they were giving this much information already. Yet, no matter how he tried, he could feel himself shrink beneath the youngster’s guardian’s gaze.
“The cameras and the recorded videos were destroyed. There’s no evidence of there having been anyone else.” Third one told.
“Where this happened?” Time inquired surprisingly calmly and the trio gave out the address. “As far as I’m aware, there’s a camera or few on the opposite street as well as on the street behind the grocery shop. I know since I’ve been to that store few times.” He told firmly. “Have those been checked?” When the trio shook their heads. “In you place I’d check all possible ways to know the full truth. Not just what’s thrown at your face.” He tried to keep his voice calm and collected so he couldn’t be blamed for coercion of any kind. And still, this was his boy that was being accused of crimes. Yet, he soon sighed sorrowfully. “I am not going to make any assumptions but the old man was more often than not at there. I feel bad for this to have happened. My condolences to the deceased’s family and friends.”
The three policemen nodded in while taking in the real feeling of sorrow on both their perpetrator as well as his guardian. “The way we got the notion of the situation was through a silent alarm.” The first police told. “We followed the blood which brought us to the ranch.”
Time tried not narrow his gaze but he couldn’t help it. “The ranch is his home.” He stated out firmly. “And did it ever occur to you that he might’ve tried to help instead of being the perpetrator? He’s got checkered past he’s trying to get rid of so he freaked out.”
“You’re making things up.” The second police told while trying to stand against the leadership the boy’s guardian held. He still ended up gulping. “Considering his past, he was set up for failure from the very start. Young criminals do not change.” He claimed and ended up taking an unconscious step back when the one eyed male’s gaze hardened even more.
“As you wish.” Time replied and turned entirely different gaze into Legend. “Your turn, Legend. Tell the full truth from the moment you left home to having come back. Leave nothing out.” He requested with calm and warm voice. His gaze was reassuring and fond.
The caretaker of the Lon-Lon Ranch’s apple trees nodded. He still felt fearful of the police in the room but he also felt safe with Time right by him. He took once a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Actually, things started about a month ago.” He confessed uncertainly and bit shrunk underneath Time’s startled gaze. “I wasn’t aware of who was sending the texts so I ignored them. All the way until the threat came up.” He explained and slumped. “I should’ve told you.” He admitted sorrowfully while raising his gaze up. “I should’ve told you but I thought I could deal with this on my own. I didn’t…” He trailed off for a moment before dropping his gaze down. “I didn’t want you and my adopted brothers to end up tangled into my past life’s mess.” He said sorrowfully and quietly but making sure his words and voice would be recorded into Time’s phone. After this he took a deep breath and began to explain it all.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
“Don’t say you’ve forgotten us.”
Legend just frowned at the text message before shrugging. It might’ve just been either a scam or then a wrong number. Nonetheless, he wasn’t certain why he ended up saving it and storing in case more would appear. Maybe it was because there was some kind of familiarity in it that he couldn’t really figure out.
About a week later another message came. “You’re making a big mistake if you ignore us.” It sounded more threatening but Legend still decided to leave it off of his notion. He wondered a bit if he should inform Time about the message but he shrugged it off. The ranch’s owner was on a mission at the moment while counting on his boys to behave and do things right. The caretaker of the ranch’s apple trees didn’t want to divert his guardian’s notion from the work he was handling. He had a feeling it could’ve ended up as deadly situation and he didn’t want to risk it for any of reason. After that, though, he forgot the messages even existed.
Another week and another message. “We know where you live.” Legend shuddered at the short line before shaking his head. Lot of people knew he lived at the ranch. He had few acquaintances at the school whom certainly had his number and were aware of where he could be found. Yet, he didn’t delete it. He just saved it and kept it in the thread of the earlier messages. After that he went outside and smiled as he saw his family that had adopted him almost two years ago. It had grown by three members since he was adopted.
Fourth week and Legend nearly stopped breathing as he read the message. “Ignore this and you will see your beloved apple trees go up in flames. Talk to your “family” and you can watch them die. Tell to the cops and we will make sure your “brothers” and “caretaker” will face their worst nightmares if and when the death arrives.” His hands were shaking and he was grateful of being in the house alone at the moment. He couldn’t mess his four brothers and Time into this. He gulped once and finally replied into the message.
“Who the fuck are you to throw in this kind of threats?!”
“You know perfectly well who we are. Or have you forgotten your TEAM?”
Legend stared horrified at his phone and that one simple reply. He recalled the TEAM easily even though he really wished he didn’t. The trio he had been with while he had been at the orphanage had been far from the company he would’ve wanted. If Time hadn’t come to there the day he did, he would’ve lost his chances of changing his life around.
Legend nearly jumped out of his skin when the next text arrived. “You OWE to us, Link. Meet us at the giant tree in the town’s park at five.” He checked the clock and gulped once. He only got an hour to reach the place in time. He needed to run.
Legend dashed out of his room and down to the first floor. He quickly grabbed his jacket and put the shoes on before already bit fumbling with the keys before getting out. He locked the door before checking around in search of anyone he could tell he’d leave the ranch for a while. “Time!” He called and really, really wished he could’ve told about the situation to him.
“Got school work done?” The one eyed male inquired as Legend ran to him.
“Yeah….” Legend replied while feeling entirely scared and nervous. “Can I go to meet few friends of mine?” He inquired while partly wishing Time would deny it.
“Sure. Just be back by eight for meal.” The ranch’s owner replied calmly before bit frowning as he noticed something being off. “Something wrong?” He inquired while crouching down to Legend’s eyelevel. “You know you can tell me anything.”
Legend hesitated for a second before he hugged Time tightly. “All’s fine. I’ll be back in time.” He told and pulled off before Time had a chance to return the hold. After that he ran. “I’m bit late! I gotta go fast!” He shouted as an explanation while glancing once behind with a grin.
“I’m on my way. I can’t make it to five since I don’t have a car or other means of traveling than just my own feet.” Legend swiftly texted while wishing the trio would accept it. It took a moment which he almost used to hold his breath in before the reply arrived.
“Fine. You got time only until half past five. Be here or you will be sorry.”
Legend sighed a bit in relief for the extra half an hour. It wasn’t much but it would keep his family safe and sound. And so he ran as fast as he could even though he knew he wouldn’t be able to keep running all the way to the right spot.
When Legend finally reached the park, he was so thoroughly exhausted and out of breath but he couldn’t stop for long. He stopped only long enough to check his phone’s battery, hope for it to last long enough and put the recorder on. He needed the proof of this conversation no matter what. After that he took once a deep breath and ran again. He only had about ten minutes to reach the giant tree in middle of the park by the small pond.
“Well, well, well… Got here just in time, I see.” The leader of the trio smirked as Legend reached them and doubled over while gasping for air like a fish on dry land. He gasped when the second guy gave him a simple jolt and he lost his balance by that. The trio laughed at his inability to stay upright and defend himself.
“We’ve been keeping eye on you, Link.” The leader spoke after having crouched down. “And we’ve done bit of checking on your so called brothers.” He continued while his voice got crueler with a wicked smirk. “You want to know what we’ll do if you mess them or the cops into the plans of us four?”
Legend gulped while trying to catch his breathing. He trembled a bit underneath the rough gaze. He didn’t dare to nod or shake his head. He just simply waited while knowing the two years older male would talk regardless of his choice.
The older male smirked at the mess he had made out of his old friend. “I’ll go this in the order that guy’s gathered your brothers.” He stated out and began to count with his fingers just to mock-count the boys living at the ranch. “Twilight shall be ripped apart by ferocious wolves. Wild will be burned alive. Wind faces the death by drowning. Sky can see if he can fly when dropped from high building.”
“P-please… D-don’t…. D-don’t hurt them.” Legend begged while knowing that those were the worst ways for his brothers to face death. Twilight loved wolves and held them as his protectors. Wild had been tried to be burned alive before he had ended up into the orphanage from where Time had found him. Wind’s parents had drowned at sea. Sky’s father had been an avian. Wishes, fears and believes. Legend couldn’t even imagine any of those to be turned against his family.
“And what about that caretaker of yours, then?” The youngster continued and his smirk widened as Legend gulped. “I’ve heard he got a phobia. A needle fear, to be exact.” He stated out and chuckled cruelly. “I know few who would gladly take living human to be experimented on. Lots of needles, you know.”
Legend shuddered violently at the thought of Time being forced into dealing with needles like that. He and his brothers had witnessed their caretaker’s fear several times by now due to blood tests, vaccinations and such. He was there for each of them but it had been clear he hadn’t been comfortable around the needles. In fact, he was nearly panicked while doing everything he could to keep them calm and collected. He had claimed it to be mild case but it was clear that was a pure lie. Yet, even when they tried to keep him from being there, he kept telling he’d be there for his boys just to make sure none of them were hurt and things were done correctly. Each of the five adopted sons wished they were returning the favor as they made it clear they’d be there for him too during those medical moments.
Legend gulped once while having managed to sit up and ease out his breathing a bit. “W-what do you want of me?” He inquired while fearing for the answer. The trio could’ve continued their lives as crooks without him. He had no idea why they wanted to drag him back into the life at the wrong side of the law.
The leader’s gaze hardened and Legend slumped even more. “You left us just when we had planned a big one. It would’ve been a huge milestone on our road.” He snarled nearly raged. “So, you owe us. And so, we have a heist planned. You will be the center of it.” The leader stated out with a smirk. “Move.” He commanded and roughly yanked Legend up from the ground. “You’ll learn more when we reach the place.”
Legend had no other choice than to follow as the leader led the way and the duo made sure he wouldn’t escape. “Everyone got initiation ceremony for new members. Or, in this case, for old members.” The leader told calmly while making his way through the dark day and roads lighted by streetlights. Eventually they stopped and he nodded towards the small grocery store on the opposite street. “Our target.” He simply told and smirked. “You do remember how things go, right?” He half inquired with a wicked grin.
Legend reluctantly nodded while slumping. He had wished to have gotten out of this shit. Back in the orphanage he had been the lookout and the destroyer of the cameras as he had keen eyes to notice them. At least his work would be the least trouble causing and maybe giving a chance to escape.
“Yeah, well, things change this time around.” The leader stated out almost airily. “This time you’ll be in middle of the action.” He smirked and waved his hand to give a mark to his followers as he began to approach the shop. “Cameras. Lookout. You with me, Link.” He commanded out and half forced the reluctant member of their group into the place. The other two spread out the moment they were inside.
Legend watched fearfully around while feeling tad grateful that there weren’t any customers. He feared what this trio would’ve done to them if there had been innocent shoppers around. He was trembling as the leader of the group just forced him towards the cashier, an old and kind looking man. “How may I help you lads?” He inquired as calmly as he could while noticing how terrified Legend was looking.
When the leader of the group glanced around to check that his teammates were in right places and handled their jobs, the owner of the place accidentally dropped a pen to the floor. “Oops.” He half chuckled and bent down to pick it just to press the silent alarm on. At least he was hoping to aid the reluctant youngster that might’ve been the trio’s hostage at the moment.
The leader of the group put two sets of gloves on and drew out a knife. Just as the man stood back up, the head of the group of teenagers attacked Legend. He slashed and stabbed with the knife, kicked and punched. Legend screamed and tried to fight back but he had been taken too roughly off guard to be capable of really defending himself.
The shopkeeper gasped and dashed around the counter while having grabbed a baseball bat from the lower shelf. He swung it but the group’s leader had waited for it and swiftly grabbed hold of it. He moved quickly and yanked the weapon off of the man’s hold. He tackled the shopkeeper next to Legend while smirking.
The leader expression was almost devilishly delighted while turning towards Legend and forcing the knife into his hand before taking tight hold of his fist and keeping the hand shut around the weapon. After that he yanked the youngster upwards before already making him to stab the shopkeeper. The youngster whom loved rabbits over all other animals stared horrified as the group’s leader forced him to keep stabbing the old man over and over again into the chest.
Eventually the leader let go of Legend and smirked as his former team member broke down and desperately tried to help the murdered man. “If you talk about us, you know what will happen to that ranch and the people living at there.” The leader snarled with a smirk. “We’ll see you again after you’ve dealt with the cops.” He chuckled cruelly and turned towards his loyal followers. “Grab what you want, boys! We’re leaving!” He commanded before pulling the top gloves off while knowing his fingerprints weren’t on them. He dropped them next to the youngster and left the shop with his real team.
Legend was crying and shaking while knowing he couldn’t save the man anymore. Suddenly the police cars came screeching in to the area. He scrambled up to his feet and freaked out. He didn’t think twice as he dashed out of the place through the backdoor. The only reason he was running was the fact that he needed to keep his family safe and sound. And yet, without really meaning to, his feet carried him back to the ranch. To the only place he had ever felt safe and sound.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Once Legend was done explaining and having broken down, Time moved closer to him and gently hugged him. He whispered comforting and reassuring words while doing all he could to show that everything would be okay and he didn’t blame or hate him. Sure, he wasn’t entirely approving of how things had gone but he understood it nonetheless.
The policemen listened silently to the explanation before glancing at each other. “I’m afraid we still need to take him in.” The third police told and tried not to tremble. “He might end up wrongfully arrested now but we need to check all the evidence to see his claims to stick true and interrogate him again. To get things, um… More properly recorded as you probably understand.” He explained as well as he could.
Time’s gaze was hard when he turned to look that the trio from police forces. “He is not a liar.” He did his best to keep his snarl off of his voice. “Honesty and truth are one of the main rules to living with me at the ranch.” He stated out firmly.
“At the moment we are keeping our minds open.” The first policeman told as calmly as he could while raising his hands up in calming manner. “We need to do things correctly. His phone will be marked as evidence. The texts and the recorded conversation will be important in finding the truth.” He explained while bit calming down as Legend’s guardian seemed to calm down a bit. “Yet, for doing everything right, we would need to take him in.” He half apologized and glanced at the doctor and the couple of nurses in the room. “Is he safe to be held in a prison for the night?” He inquired and the hospital’s staff nodded.
“Yes. His wounds have been tended and there is no notion for concussion.” The doctor told and ignored the slight glare he got from the one eyed male. “I am only here for listening and giving medical information.” He told while raising his hands to show he meant no harm.
Time sighed heavily and nodded in understanding. “Alright. But, on one condition.” He nearly snapped while just barely being capable of keeping his voice calm. “I will stay with him.” He told firmly, almost commandingly. “He is underage.” He reminded with a slight grin. “And hence, as his guardian, I will not let him be in the prison alone.”
“Time…” Legend called worriedly while feeling contradicted about the situation.
“Don’t worry, Ledge. I got this.” Time assured gently. “I’ll call Twilight in a moment and let them know. I’ll be right by you whole time.” He promised with certain and soft voice. Legend calmed down a bit and relaxed slightly while nodding in understanding.
The trio of policemen glanced at each other. “That’s… We need to speak with our Commander about this.” The second police said bit uncertainly.
“If your Commander doesn’t want a lawsuit then I’ll be let to be with Legend.” Time stated out firmly. The three policemen glanced at each other before nodding firmly. The ranch’s owner turned his gentle gaze into Legend. “You ready to leave?” He inquired softly while inwardly feeling far more safer at the hospital at the moment than at where they’d be going. It bit surprised him as he had never liked hospitals even one bit.
“Y-yeah…” Legend half stammered with a nod.
Time smiled reassuringly at him and gently hugged him. “Alright. I’ll call Twilight real quick to let the boys know of the situation.” He told while reaching for his phone but stopping midway. “Actually, can I use your phone, Ledge? Need to keep the recording going.” He half requested and the younger male nodded firmly before reaching for his phone. Time kept close check on the police so they wouldn’t do anything rash just because his boy was retrieving a phone.
“I hope it still has enough of battery in it for the call.” Legend told while opening it up and giving it to Time.
“No worries. I’ll just put it on my charger for now.” Time replied calmly and took his own phone off the charger and plugged Legend’s phone into it. After that he dialed Twilight’s number while letting the police see what he was doing.
“LEDGE! ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?!” Twilight’s scream came nearly instantly from the other side of the phone.
“All’s fine for now.” Time replied calmly on his boy’s behalf. “You’re on speaker since the situation’s bit sensitive at the moment.” He explained while glancing at the policemen. He was grateful that the trio was staying silent at the moment. “Listen, I and Legend won’t be coming back for tonight. You’re in charge, Twilight, until we do get back”
“Time, what’s going on?”
“Just few… mistakes that need to be cleared off.” Time answered as calmly as he could while not wanting to explain things too clearly. “Twi, I’ll be sending few things to your e-mail for safekeeping but do NOT touch them. Just let them be there. And, hope those are not needed. After everything’s dealt with, I will ask you to destroy them.” He told firmly.
“O-okay…. W-what are they going to be about?”
“Don’t worry about that. We’ll explain everything once we get back home. Until then…” He trailed off for a moment before bit grinning. “You four can be out of school for tomorrow. Stay at the ranch and look after each other.” He chuckled a bit at the squeals of happiness at the background. “I’ll clear everything when we get back home.” He promised calmly while trying to keep things under control.
“Goodnight, bros! I’ll hopefully see you guys tomorrow.” Legend called as calmly as he could.
“Hopefully? What’s that supposed to mean?” Sky’s worried voice cut through between the goodnight wishes.
“It means that this might take a bit more than just one day to clear.” Time replied calmly. “Things will be all right, though. I promise.” He swore firmly. “Anyway, we gotta get going or this’ll be harder to get done. Sleep well, boys, and don’t worry too much.” He spoke fondly with a small smile on his lips. “Just plan for tomorrow and enjoy the day off.” He reminded and knew he was at least bit averting their notion off of the current situation going on with their brother. Yet, he knew they’d still worry even though they were aware of him being there to clear things off.
After the last goodnight wishes, Time finally cut the call off and, with the police watching, send the text messages and the recorded conversations Legend had told about in his explanation just a moment ago into Twilight’s e-mail. “Just in case. I will send this current conversation later on. Until then I will keep it recording.” He stated out while making sure the e-mail got through until giving the phone to the police to be marked as evidence.
One of the nurses left for a moment only to return back with some food for the patient and his caretaker. It would be the only food they’d get before next day so it was gratefully accepted. Sure, it wasn’t as good as what Wild could do but it was enough to be ready to face what was coming.
Only a while later from there Time thanked the doctor and the nurses for having been there before following the police. He kept Legend right by him and out of the trio’s hold. It was bit of a surprise that they hadn’t even tried to handcuff Legend but then again Time certainly would’ve made it clear such wasn’t needed.
Surprisingly, Time was allowed to drive his car to the police station with Legend on the passenger’s seat and one of the policemen on the backseat. He kept his phone on charger while making certain the one with them was aware of the recording still being on. When they finally reached the place and gave out their things, Time finally stopped the recording and sent the copy of it to Twilight’s e-mail. He waited long enough to make sure the long recording had fully gone through without trouble. Only after that he gave his phone to the police and followed Legend into the prison cell.
“Take the bed, Specialist.” Time stated out while sitting down next to the hard thing. “You’ll need the rest even though that’s not worth sleeping in. Tomorrow’s going to be rough.” He commented before taking off the shirt.
“Time?” Legend half queried worriedly and bit frowning at his guardian’s actions.
“Here. Take it. I know it’s not much but bit of warmth anyways.” Time told while offering the shirt. “After all there’s no blanket in here.” He pointed out while crossing his arms over his chest and leaning his head bit against the wall. He gave a slight grin at the concerned look the younger male was giving him. “Don’t worry about me. I’ve slept in worse places than this.”
“You wanna tell?” Legend inquire while bit unwillingly laying down to the bed and having Time’s shirt bit like a blanket over him.
Time chuckled a bit and smiled slightly. “Worst places to sleep in, huh?” He mused before tad shrugging. “When I was ten I lived one year at the streets and on the road until I found my way to the ranch.” He started quietly before chuckling. “Worst place to sleep is probably a dumpster. Luckily I woke up before the garbage truck came at the next day. It could’ve crushed me back then. They pretty much screamed curses and whatnot after me when I bolted the hell out of there.”
Legend stared startled at his caretaker and Time just shrugged. “Another place not worth sleeping in is rocky bank of a river. Not comfortable even one bit.” He continued while thinking back to that year in hopes of finding the areas he’s slept at.
“Shit. You had it rough.” Legend half whispered while bit pushing himself upwards to see Time better. The older male just shrugged.
“Eh, it might sound rough but it wasn’t all that bad.” Time replied with a small sorrowful smile. “Wars had taught me all I needed for survival.” He replied with a slight fond smile.
“Your older brother?” Legend partly inquired while knowing that Time had mentioned the older boy several times. Still, the one eyed male wasn’t as open about his past as he got his boys to be. Nonetheless, he talked if someone asked or if it would help the five with what they were dealing with.
Time nodded quietly while falling to his memories. “Not by blood, though.” He whispered quietly. “I doubt I’d be alive if he hadn’t saved my ass so many times.” He chuckled a bit with a slight grin. “Helped me to escape the orphanage.” He told before sighing heavily. “Never thought that’d be the last day I’d see him.”
“I’m sorry.” Legend replied sorrowfully. He really wished he could’ve turned back time and change it. He honestly wished he could’ve saved Time from the hell he had gone through in his past.
Time shook his head and waved his hand dismissively. “Nothing to be sorry for.” He told calmly and smiled fondly at Legend. “So, change of topic. How’s the apple trees? You gave them a check in the morning but I didn’t get to talk with you about them.”
Legend blinked bit startled before chuckling. Time grinned and just bit tilted his head while waiting for an answer. “They’re good. Waiting for the snow to fall down.” He replied fondly. “With the chance of feeding the wild rabbits, I don’t need to really fence the trees.” He mused happily.
“Plus you get to spend time with them.” Time filled in the unsaid thing with a mischievous grin. Legend blinked and blushed a bit. The one eyed male chuckled slightly and gently started to run his fingers through his boy’s hair. “Just get some rest, Ledge. You’ll need it.” He partly requested and smiled fondly as Legend yawned and laid down onto the bed. “I’ll guard you. I promise I won’t let anyone hurt you anymore.” He swore quietly while aiding his boy to sleep.
Time didn’t sleep much on that night even though he did try. He just woke up to any small sound while making sure Legend slept as peacefully as possible. Still, he worried more at the moment about one of his boys would call him in middle of the night than of anything else. He had left a text to Twilight telling that he might not be possible of catching by phone during the night. Yet, he hadn’t informed a reason for it while just telling he’d explain everything once Legend’s situation would be cleared off. Still, he pretty much requested for the police to bring his phone over in case any of the four boys of his, Twilight, Wild, Wind or Sky, would call him.
Time woke Legend up when he heard the police coming over. They both stretched a bit before the one eyed male put his shirt back on. Yet, instead of being fetched for questioning, they were brought some breakfast. The one eyed male requested his phone back at least for a while since, after all, he wasn’t arrested but just keeping Legend safe. He was fully grateful when his phone was brought over and he swiftly checked the texts and phone calls while tad relaxing as none of his boys had tried to reach him. He gave his phone back after that while having let the police guard see what he actually was doing.
Couple of hours before Legend would be taken to questioning, one of guards brought in a ringing phone. “That’s Wild calling! Please?” Time almost begged and sighed in relief when he was given the phone. He quickly answered into the call while putting it into speaker to let the policewoman know the situation. “Hey, Wild. How’s it going? Also, you’re on speaker just so you’re aware.”
“Hi. All’s fine in here.” Wild replied while the sound of kitchen noise was on the background. “Just making breakfast and wanting to know if you and Legend are coming for dinner today.”
“Whatcha making?” Time inquired while feeling curious of what the boys were getting for morning food. “And, well, it’s early to say. Depends on how things go. I’ll try to inform you about how things go but I wouldn’t hold my breath over it.” He replied while tad fearing how long the interrogation would be and what would be the end result of it.
“Okay.” Wild replied cheerily. “Just some bacon and eggs. Nothing too fancy this time around.” He told while cracking the said eggs.
“Alright. Sounds good. I’ll leave you to it. Love you, Wild. Tell to the others that I love them too.” Time told before bit grinning as Legend piped in his love greetings too. They ended the call after that and Time nodded his thanks to the guard.
Eventually the duo was at the interrogation room. Legend was quite well a nervous wreck while Time stayed right by him. The one eyed male did his best to calm his boy down and reminded to keep telling the full truth. As things progressed, it started to be quite clear that he wouldn’t be charged with anything while more of wanting to get information on the trio that had actually been at fault of the crime done.
Suddenly one of the police knocked on the door before coming in with ringing phone. Time almost jerked and made a move to get up before remembering where he was. “That’s Twilight’s ringtone. He only calls if there’s some kind of problem going on. Please?” He spoke nearly desperately while looking almost pleadingly at the duo keeping the interrogation which was more of a conversation than accusing one.
Other one of the duo nodded and bit grinned. “You could’ve kept your phone.” She told while the phone was handed over to Time.
“Just wanting to make things the right way.” Time replied before already straight off answering into the phone. “Hi, Twi! How’s it going? Oh, and just to let you know, you’re on the speaker.” He forced to keep his voice calm and collected.
“Time, there’s some guys at the yard.”
Time’s blood turned into ice by that information. He glanced at Legend whom was staring terrified at the phone and just barely breathing. The one eyed male forced to keep himself collected. “What guys? Did they inform of having come over?”
“There’s three of them. And no, we just noticed them lurking around.”
“Are your brothers by you?” Time straight off asked while knowing his concern and fear seeped into his voice.
“Yeah. We’re together.”
“Stay indoors. Be out of their notion. Stay together whole time.” Time commanded while sending a pleading look to the three policepersons in the room. “Keep eye on them. Wind, if you can, take a picture of them. Do NOT interact with them.”
“Time, what’s going on?”
“The police will come over to chase them off. Just stay calm, together and keep notion of them.” Time ignored the question while doing his best to keep the four boys of his calm and safe. He wished he was back at the ranch so he could chase those fools out of there by himself.
“Send a picture of them. I need to know if I know them.” Legend suddenly told while giving Time apologetic look. He was at the fault of this mess. He was entirely terrified that the trio would realize that he had ratted them out.
“Legend? Honestly, who are they and what’s going on?”
“I just sent the picture. I hope it’s good enough.” Wind told while having done his best to get the trio as perfectly as he could into the photo.
Time’s phone gave out info of the message and he swiftly worked the picture out. Legend gulped and paled as he stared at the trio in the photo. He was trembling and barely breathing as he simply gave a nod of recognition.
“I think they’re leaving.” Wild told while being somewhere between relief and worry.
Time glanced at Legend whom simply nodded into the silent inquiry. “As you know, Legend’s past is bit checkered. Those three you just saw have gotten him into trouble we’re fixing as we speak. The police can give a check around the ranch just to make sure they’re gone.” He explained firmly while knowing the ranch is quite huge and there’s lot of good hiding places. “Stay alert and don’t go around alone. Let me know if any of you notice anything at all out of normal. Call me when the police arrives.”
Time sighed heavily when the call ended after bit of reassurances and calming down. “Those three need to be caught. They’re threat to my family.” He stated out and the two police handling the so-called interrogation nodded in agreement. After that they resumed into getting as much of information from Legend as possible about the group. About an hour after they had continued the conversation, Twilight called again. Time demanded to know the name and badge number of the police whom had arrived to Lon-Lon Ranch. Luckily the police at the station confirmed their names, badge numbers and faces from the picture Wind took of them. That calmed the one eyed male a bit and the police actually stayed to keep eye on the ranch as well as they could.
“They know now for certain.” Legend said defeated.
“The quicker they are caught, the better.” Time replied and pulled Legend into a hug. “It’ll be okay. I promise we all will be safe. This’ll end sooner than you think.”
“Agreed.” The policewoman stated out firmly and got the duo’s notion into her. “We need to plan a way to catch these guys. Are you willing to meet with them again with a wire?”
“NO.” Time almost snarled and startled the duo. “He will not be wired in any of way. They already beat him and are certainly aware he’s given them out.” He stated out before bit grinning as an idea came in. “Even though I don’t want Legend anywhere near those bastards, I might have an idea.”
“Time….” Legend called bit fearfully and gulped once. “I… I’ll do whatever it takes to take them down. Please?” He almost begged even though he really wasn’t up for facing the trio ever again.
Time sighed heavily and nodded. “When you’re up for facing them, call me. Keep the line open so I and the police will hear the conversation. It’ll be recorded for later usage.”
“I think that’ll be perfect idea. Safer too.” The policewoman nodded while thinking it through. With that they finally left the interrogation room into somewhere much nicer. Both Legend and Time were actually given their stuff back as the youngster wasn’t charged with anything. That was a huge relief to them both and gave them a chance to really start to plan with the police on how to get the group of three crooks caught.
As Legend finally made the call and set up the meeting, Time couldn’t help but be scared to death about the whole thing. He had been eyeing the sky whenever he had a chance but he hadn’t seen even a glimpse of the Luck Bird. That was a huge bad omen for the whole thing but he knew that the sooner they’d get the bastards down, the better. And yet, with the trio having been sighted by his boys at the ranch…
Legend feared the meeting as much as Time did. They waited for the clock to tick them closer to the meeting and each passing second only worried the one eyed male more. He absentmindedly ran his fingers through Legend’s hair while the boy was sitting on the ground in front of him. They were at the moment at the small park within the police station’s area and Time desperately tried to find the small bird of bronze and silver. And yet, the avian just refused to appear. He didn’t even hear its calls.
“I don’t like this, Rabbit.” Time whispered while letting his gaze search the few trees around them.
“I know.” Legend replied quietly while keeping his eyes closed and tried to stay calm. “The bird’s not here. It’s not giving any good luck by staying hidden.”
“I feel like we should postpone this whole shit.” Time told fearfully and the younger male opened his eyes to look at him. The ranch’s owner sighed heavily and slumped. “And yet, we can’t. The police is setting things ready. The meeting’s within an hour. The sooner we get them down, the sooner we all will be safe and sound.” He whispered and shook his head. “They wouldn’t care about Luck Birds and such. It’s just superstition to them.” He almost mumbled while praying for the bird to show up but he already knew it. Even the boys back at Lon-Lon Ranch hadn’t seen the flying animal.
“I’ll be careful, Time. I promise.” Legend swore as confidently as he could. Time just nodded while still searching for the creature that would ease his worries and tell everything would go perfectly fine. And yet, it evaded him fully and thoroughly at that day.
Eventually the time ran out and the plan was put into motion. Time gave Legend one last tight hug and few reassuring words before staying with the police. The youngster made the call and the one eyed male put his phone onto the counter with the speaker on. He made sure to record it while keeping his phone in the charger even though he was certain the police was recording the call too with their own devices. The police also kept tracking Legend’s phone to know where he was going.
The old and abandoned warehouse at the outskirts of the town was a perfect place for hiding. Legend took a deep breath to calm down before entering the dimly lit area. He shivered at the coolness of the place and tried not to show his fear. There was lot of stuff around the place which all gave perfect hiding areas for anyone and anything. “I’m here!” He called out as loudly as he could after reaching the middle of the area while looking around and trying to be alert and ready for anything.
“I warned you.” The leader of the group almost snarled as he and his team came into sight. “I warned you not to give us out but you snitched us the moment you had a chance.” He sneered before smirking and nodding once to show to his followers to come into sight. “I told you you’ll pay if you turn your back on us. You did it back in the orphanage and you did it now. Back then we couldn’t really punish you but now…” He smirked as the duo of his dragged struggling Wild into sight.
“WILD!” Legend screamed out in terror. “Let him go! He has nothing to do with this!” He growled while fisting his hands.
“Oh, the contrary.” The leader of the crooks smirked. “He’s important to you so he’s the one who’ll be the payment of your failures.” He told and brought out a lighter before already lighting it up. “I told you he’ll go up in flames. And you can watch.”
Wild was trembling in absolute terror as his gaze caught the notion of the fire and he heard the words. He tried to struggle even harder while desperately trying to get away from the flame. Eventually he just shut his eyes and waited for the hell to start.
“NOOO!” Legend screamed in rage and terror as he lunged forward. He struck the lighter out of the guy’s hand before already punching one of the two holding Wild. “FIGHT!” He commanded even though he wasn’t sure at all if Wild was in the condition of even thinking about fighting back or if he even knew how to fight. Either way, the youngster struggled and tried to pull himself free. Legend swiftly punched the bastard into side before almost ripping Wild off of the guy’s hold.
The moment Legend screamed out the name of one of his brothers, Time was already out of the van and running. He was not going to wait for the police to handle this situation. He knew the place and his terror and rage were fueling his speed. Nothing would keep him from defending and protecting his boys.
By the time the one eyed male crashed through the door of the warehouse, Legend was keeping Wild behind him while slowly backing away. The trio was in an arc before him while smirking cruelly. They held knives in their hands while just waiting for a chance to attack.
“STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THEM!” Time roared as the five in the area had glanced behind them at the slamming of the door. “LOOK OUT!” He screamed out the warning as the trio attacked. Luckily Wild reacted faster than Legend and pulled his brother backwards out of the first slash’s way. They began to back away again as quickly as they could before giving out a startled scream as Time suddenly was right there and yanked them roughly behind him.
The owner of the Lon-Lon Ranch glared cruelly at the trio while already responding to the attacks. The moment he was in front of his boys, he turned around while just barely avoiding one slash from his side as he kicked the middle one as hard as he could and grabbed the third guy’s knife arm while delivering cruel punch into his face. Right after that he moved to his side to stay fully between the bad guys and the second and third adopted son of his. He grabbed the guy he had first avoided and kneed him into stomach. After that he kept facing the trio while forcing his boys to continue backing away. “Stay down.” He commanded with a cruel snarl. “Otherwise you’ll awaken the demon within me. And trust me, you do not want that.” He growled out his promise.
The trio groaned in pain but they stood back to their feet while glaring at Time. “Big mistake.” The leader smirked and, with the duo by him mimicking his action, reached for his pocket before already drawing out several needles.
Time visibly flinched and gulped once as he saw the items he was so thoroughly terrified of. He tried not to tremble while tearing his gaze off of the things in hopes of getting ready for the continuation of the battle. “Legend, Wild, get out.” He commanded while just barely being able to speak with the lump in his throat.
“Time…” Wild whispered fearfully while fully understanding what was going on.
“Get out.” Time commanded again with bit more strength. “I can’t fight with you two here. Go! Please.” He partly snapped, partly begged while still keeping the duo behind him and backing towards the doorway that would’ve led into safety.
When the two boys finally understood the situation, Legend nodded and turned around. He started to run and drag Wild along even though they both would’ve loved to help and even the battle out but he knew they couldn’t. Wild wasn’t a fighter and Legend wasn’t in the condition of fighting. Those few moves he had done were already causing rough pain in his yesterday gained wounds.
The moment the group of crooks’ targets turned around and ran, they attacked. Time did his best to ignore the almost crippling fear the needles were causing as he fought to hold the trio off from going after his boys. He grit his teeth and just growled when the knifes slashed and stabbed as the trio understood to need to get through him first. He gasped and flinched roughly while beginning to tremble as the needles were plunged into his arms. The trio smirked as they thought their opponent would be easy to deal with.
Yet, the trio had never faced anyone like the ranch’s owner before. The one eyed male was more than ready to go to hell and back again as many times as needed to protect those he loved. He had already lost so much that he held on to what he had with all he got. And right now he was kicking and punching while grabbing the guys and forcefully throwing them back to keep them from getting past him.
By the time the police finally came into there, Time was bleeding and trembling while breathing shakily and heavily. The trio laid on the ground before him fully beaten but still conscious. “If you ever again get anywhere near my boys, I swear this day was only a warning. You do not want to see what I’m capable of.” He growled as the trio were hoisted up by the police after having handcuffed them.
As the trio was dragged towards the police cars to be taken to prison, the leader’s raged and cruel gaze locked into Legend. “You betrayed your TEAM!” He snarled out and tried to pull himself free but luckily the police held strongly enough to keep him from escaping.
Legend’s gaze was rough as he answered into the given look. Yet, he soon huffed and turned his gaze off. “It wasn’t a team to begin with. It was just bunch of fools trying to be something they’re not.” He replied as calmly as he could. “I’m not the kind of guy you thought I’d be.” He continued with a slight smile. “And I’m glad of that.” He stated out before nudging Wild towards the warehouse’s door. “Time saved me just in time.” He thought happily while being more than eager to get back to his caretaker.
Once the three crooks were out, Time gasped and crashed to the floor. He wanted to whimper but he kept the sound locked deep within him. He desperately wanted to get the needles off of him but he couldn’t get his trembling hands to move. “TIME!” The shout snapped him out of his near panic and he scrambled around to see two of his boys dashing towards him.
“Legend! Wild!” The one eyed male half shouted and got almost knocked over as the duo crashed in for a hug. “Sssh, it’s okay. Everything’s okay now.” He whispered while desperately wanting to hug them back but not daring to with the needles still being so visibly seen. “I’d hug you back if I could.” He half apologized while carefully pushing the duo off of him to get a full check on them. “Are you two all right?”
“We’re okay but you’re not.” Legend stated as firmly as he could while crying and feeling fully at fault. “I should’ve told you the moment the first message came.” He mumbled in shame.
“Maybe but the first one wasn’t that of bad.” Time replied while gently kissing the forehead of both of his boys. He forced himself back to his feet and gently turned the duo around. “Come on, I probably should make a visit to the hospital and you two are coming with me. I’m not leaving either of you out of my sight.” He told while concentrating into the duo with him instead of his own condition and his needle fear.
Once the three of them were out of the warehouse, one of the policepersons from the van approached them. “You probably want this back.” She told while offering the one eyed male his phone back. Time smiled a bit and nudged Wild a bit whom swiftly took the phone and the charger for safekeeping on his guardian’s stead. “You probably should take the ambulance ride to hospital. The duo can certainly go with you.” She told while starting to lead them towards the help.
Time held back the whimpers and any pained sounds that threatened to make their way out of him as the needles were removed. He tried to stop trembling but as long as those things were in his sight, he couldn’t help but feel the fear of them being used against him again. He barely noticed as the knife wounds were being treated. Yet, what he desperately tried to really concentrate into was the two boys of his by him. The moment he was given the rights, he already pulled the duo into a tight hug.
Once at the hospital and having had both of his boys checked just in case, Time finally calmed down. He held the duo close while whispering reassuring words. After a while the police brought in Wind and the youngest of Time’s boys had just dashed to the bed, scrambled onto it and crawled to his brothers and caretaker. With Wind safe and sound with them, Wild gave the statement to the police about what had happened.
Wild told that he and Wind had been at grocery store to get something special for the day off. The cook-to-be had been attacked by the trio and easily been overpowered. Wind had been at different aisle but before the three had noticed him, the boy had dashed out of there and straight to the police station. By the time the help had arrived, the four were already gone. Wind had stayed with the police for safety reasons while being worried sick and terrified.
With Wind, Wild and Legend safely with him, Time called Twilight to inform of the situation. The police luckily was willing to fetch the rest of the boys to be reunited with their family. After everyone was on that one bed, the ranch’s owner and Legend told the whole situation through with the youngster doing most of the talking. After that, while fully ignoring the bandages and stitched wounds, Time pulled the five adopted sons of his close while doing his best to hold them all in his arms. Even though he really hated hospitals, he felt entirely safe and sound at the moment.
At the next day the six of them returned back to the ranch. The five boys followed Time pretty much to anywhere and everywhere he went while needing to know everyone in their family was safe and sound. They checked the ranch to make sure the trio hadn’t done any damage on their visit to there. Time very much enjoyed of the company and notion he was gaining while making sure each of his boys were all right and healing from the ordeal.
There was so much of hardcore proof of the trio of crooks that it had been quite futile to even think about throwing a lawsuit against them. They were sent off to jail with charges such as murder, vandalism, shoplifting, kidnapping and attempted murder. There was no chances the trio would get out and with not having really gained much of name as criminals, they weren’t capable of getting a chance at revenge.

Brooo naurrr like I did not just add more paragraphs to a fic I posted in JANUARY of 2021. Because that would be super mega cringe on an ultimate level one can not comprehend. I can't keep getting away with this I'm gnawing at the bars of my poorly secured enclosure

Phic Phight - I Out Pew Pew Your Pew Pew
For: @wingedflight
Danny is kinda a walking weapon even with ignoring his ghostliness, and robbing a bank is certainly one way to find that out
Danny? Yeah Danny was having a day. He turbo fucked his right shin and now had a cast, even with that his parents were still insisting on Danny himself going to both set up the new FentonWorks deal with a non-military adjacent investor/potential buyer and for him to set up the investment/deposit any under the table cheques at the bank. Of course, he had to be in his FentonWorks brand hazmat/spandex -gotta be able to show off those weapons and other gadgets at the drop of a hat right?- for said meeting, he dressed it up with a burgundy lab coat, fuzzy green and purple plaid pants, and a pair of dark blue doc martins; combined with the white trimmed with black spandex he hopes he was a fucking eyesore.
“-It’ll be a pleasure doing business with FentonWorks”, the gray-suited man gets up and they shake hands. White gloved hand to pale hand, the other man had a gaudy ring on his ring finger with diamonds so most likely married though his watch was definitely a fake Rolex. The man was bringing both legal and… less than legal money to the table so Danny makes a point to pull the guy in and clap him on the back, “do keep in mind, my uncle is Vlad Masters, I’m sure you understand”, and let’s the guy go, finger snapping and finger gunning as he take his leave; the other man looks slightly shocky. Fucking good. Sometimes people would try to pull one over on his parents, mostly due to Jack’s seeming obviousness and innocence, and they’d sometimes try it with Danny too due to him being all young and shit. It didn’t help that his dad feel for it sometimes, even his mom had once or twice due to being excited or too focused on other things. Danny, however, never had, he was way too perceptive and aware of the more unkind side of people (ghost or human) for that; which is probably why his parents wanted him to handle all the deals and clients now. Was it a pain? Yes. Most of the clients were either a little wacky, a little shady, or just painfully normal. But bringing up Vlad, who had a goddamn thirty-ish year reputation for being brutal/vindictive and unscammable in business, usually stopped anyone from even trying to pull one over on Danny.
Vlad definitely didn’t mind, that man liked his more intimidating business reputation, and would absolutely run someone’s business into the ground on Danny’s behalf; at least they got on well these days, so the rich ass wouldn’t ask for much in return.
So anyways, bank time, as he slips in through the slightly squeaky doors with a whistle; thank fuck he was practiced in walking around with casts. Slapping his cheques down on the till and, as is typical of his luck, all Hell breaks loose immediately after.
Doors banging open loudly and men shouting stereotypical bullshit, “ON THE GROUND NOW! THIS IS A ROBBERY! IF YOU DONT WANT TO DIE YOU’LL LISTEN THE HELL UP!”, and fires a few rounds at the ceiling. Don’t these jackasses know that could cause ricochets and shit?
Needless to say everybody drops… except Danny, who, you know, has a fucking cast and thus would reasonably have difficulty with that shit. The chuckle fucks don’t really like that of course, one pointing a gun at an unaffected looking Danny, “ground, now”.
“I don’t know about you guys but I kinda have difficulty laying on the ground with a fucking cast on”.
The guy rolls his eyes under his ski mask, “funny. Ground, I don’t care how difficult it is”.
Danny shrugs and just kinda falls sideways, landing on the ground with a huff and a very loud thump. This? This was not what the armed man expected him to do and he just stands in shock for a beat; Danny’s tempted to knock the man’s feet out and bite him to get some kind of upper hand but… he wasn’t alone in the building and he wasn’t about to risk collateral. so the man with the gun grunts and goes back to the others to watch everyone while giving him some weirded out side-eye.
Cue operation big ass distraction. He is literally wearing a spandex suit filled to the brim with weapons and that’s super fucking durable, a regular ass gun ain’t doing shit and these guys don’t look like they brought ecto-based weaponry or a rocket launcher or an anti-tank rifle… just so long as they don’t shoot him in the fucking head. Granted that won’t really do anything else either but that was because he was already dead, and while that would really make these idiots realise the situation they’re in, that shit being caught on camera would be super bad.
So Danny starts drumming his fingers on his stomach, then moving his arms and legs around like he’s making snow angels, when that doesn’t get mu- oh wait never mind, they’re staring at him and one of the guys mutters, “are you fucking kidding me”. Danny bounces his feet up and down making thumping noises and making his whole body shake; while also trying the gesture to everyone to, like, hide or some shit. At least shimmy away from his ass, ‘cause trying to shimmy away from the guy that’s practically begging to be shot is very reasonable behaviour that the gunmen won’t really question much.
A slightly taller jackass comes over this time, pointing his gun right at Danny’s nose, “I can just kill you now if you feel like being annoying”.
Danny smirks very mockingly, “go ahead, be doing me a favour or two”. And the man eyes how Danny is very clearly entirely unbothered by the gun in his face. “Lookie a kid with a death wish, on your stomach. Now”, and he nudges Danny’s side with his gun barrel; everyone is very much not near Danny now.
Danny does oblige, again he doesn’t actually want to get shot in the face. The taller man backs up and mutters to another, “he might be real trouble, either he doesn’t fear death or he’s made these kinds of rounds before”; his buddy just nods curtly and passes the message along.
Nice. More eyes on Danny. Danny likey. Also he absolutely heard someone managing to hit the panic button; ghost ears for the win. unfortunately said ghost ears are also picking up on the guys doing a solid job breaking into the safe, these guys have done this before.
And then someone other than Danny does something stupid and lunges for one of the men’s guns, Danny wants to call the girl a fucking moron as she gets shot in the foot without any hesitation. Aka, Danny’s hand is solidly forced now since he was no longer their only ‘problem’ meaning playing distraction via erratic behaviour wasn't gonna work now. Whelp. Nothing for it. Taking advantage of the girls distraction to twist his palms under his collar bone and flex his feet so his toes are flat in the ground. Grinning, “a cast might hinder your legs but you know what it doesn’t hinder? Your ankles”, and uses his wrists and toes/ankles to springboard/slingshot himself forward and straight into the nearest asshole's knees.
The guy goes down like a sack of bricks.
Danny snaking his arm around to jab the guy one in the chin, knocking him out easily with a little help from his ghostly strength; then grabbing his shirt and flinging the man at the other men, Danny grabbing the man’s gun too while he’s at it and using the gun as a prop to shove himself back into standing upright.
Danny took issue with killing. Big no to murder. But what he didn’t take issue with was injuries; people don’t die from mild enough injuries, they just hurt like a son of a bitch.
So Danny shoots two guys in their feet, both feet. While everyone else starts panicking and running around; Danny winds up shooting one of the guys in the shoulder -barely- cause he tried to shoot a fleeing old dude. Danny basically gliding over the ground, using the reach of the butt of the gun to deliver knock out neck hits to the two guys he shot in the foot; chuckling the gun at the shoulder shot guy, he’s not super happy with the thunk noise it makes against the fuckers chest but he’s still breathing… just maybe with a cracked rib or two.
Now there’s just the two in the vault and the two in this room with him, both of the later have their guns on him at this point and obviously think he just threw away his weapon based on their definite smirks under their masks.
Danny glances around at the ground like he’s looking for another weapon, one of the men chuckling, “not so cocky now, are we”. Danny looking back up and shrugging, “oh I assure you, I am the perfect amount of cocky”, and suddenly Danny has a bazooka.
The two men’s eyes go wide, Danny taking their shook as a chance to summon out a little laser gun from its ankle slot and promptly laser seals shut the vault; those men can stay there and get picked up by the cops… whenever the cops can manage to get it back open anyways. But for now, bazooka. Danny snickers, “your guy’s luck must really suck to pick the one time to commit robbery at the same time as when an owner of a ground breaking weapons company that even does deals with some… less than public government sectors, will be around doing business”, grin turning mean, “and I’m the owner with the best shot”; the bazooka charging up with a whine. Any remaining hostages are either huddling further in their hiding spots, trying to record this shit, or muttering profanities.
‘Cause yeah, this was definitely a weird ass scene. Three unconscious bank robbers, a ‘wack job’ in a red lab coat plus spandex body suit plus green/purple pants plus blue shoes like he’s from a fucking comic book or something, and two other bank robbers having a gun stand-off with bazooka mad scientist dude. The fact that Danny was grinning like he was having a jolly good time while the robbers looked all serious, really sold it.
Annnnnnnnd then the cops show up.
“EVERYBODY PUT YOUR HANDS UP AND GET DOWN ON THE GROUND! Put your weapons down”. The robbers do as their told instantly while glaring bloody murder at Danny.
Danny, however, actively pouts, “hey, I’m just defusing the situation”. He sounds so serious that even the cops are thrown off and pause, everyone eyeing him.
The shorter robber fucker wheezes, “kid, you’re fucking crazy”.
Danny shrugs, still holding his bazooka, “first off, I’m an adult. Second off, again I have a leg cast so that whole get on the ground thing’s gonna take some time. Third off, Imma Fenton, crazy’s in the genes”, smirking, “or in the spandex jumpsuit, I guess. These definitely aren’t denim”.
One of the cops lowers her gun, “you’re a Fenton”.
Danny takes one hand off the bazooka and points to his face, grinning goofily, “Daniel James Fenton, heir to FentonWorks, at your service”; somewhat slowly lifting up the bazooka to point it at the ceiling instead, all the cops -except the lady cop who spoke up- following him with their guns the entire time.
Tall robber sounds slightly confused, “full name? Are you not concerned a friend of ours will come hunt you down for this”; one of the cops grabbing him and yanking his cuffed ass up very roughly.
“Eh, bigger men with bigger arsenals haven't succeeded yet so I’m not worried”.
Meanwhile, lady cop holsters her gun, waving the others off, “don’t bother with him, Fenton’s are basically exempt from the law”. The other cops looking dumbfounded at her, one even giving her a, “seriously?”.
“Yes, seriously. You three, get that vault open”.
Danny nods, retracting the bazooka, “good call, kinda trapped two fuckers in there with an ankle laser”.
One cop mumbling, “ankle laser? What is this? James Bond?”.
Danny snickers, “you wouldn’t believe me if I told you”, then walks over to the lady officer, she looks like she’s in charge here or at least the highest on the peeking order, handing over his FentonWorks id for her to look over and nod at.
She hands it back to him with a, “you Fenton’s are as crazy as I was warned”.
Danny beams happily, “oh this isn’t remotely crazy for me”, glancing around, “actually I think this was the single easiest robbery slash hostage situation I’ve ever been involved with. Glad to see there’s no weird gothic mime clowns or mecha body suits”. Then looking right at the robbers, “by the by? This shit?”, putting a hand to his jumpsuit, “is neck to toe bullet proof and contains well over three hundred different weapons. You were out gunned and out armoured before you even tried. Suck on deez nuts”, and makes a couple of lewd gestures.
Some of the hostages whimper, two laugh, and the other remaining ones just fucking flee. the lady cop eyes Danny, “please try to stick to you own jurisdiction in the future”.
Danny grins giddily before striding back over to where he left his cheques, “now is anyone gonna cash these for me or? They’re not, like, super legal so…”.
One of the two cops that were working on the safe shouting, “are you for real!?!”.
“I verbally and/or visually -take your pick- terrorised some robbers, shot three of them, and held a bunch of cops at bazooka point; questionable money and maybe tax evasion are a moot point at this point”.
A bank teller does actually shakily come over and start doing his cheque for him, “um, uh, thank you?”, her voice is a little squeaky.
Danny gives a little thumbs up, “hey it’s my thing to both disturb and protect the peace, usually from far weirder situations with a lot more collateral damage”. And gives her double-finger guns while the cops finally get the safe open and drag out the two trapped men.
Whelp, this wasn’t his problem anymore and he dealt with what he was required to. Saluting everyone, “whelp, this was fun, thanks for the more mundane combat style break. Got dead people to deal with, if you want to charge me with your therapy bills please don’t, the damages tab is high enough already”, and with that he saunters out.
One of the cops looks to the boss lady cop, “how are we supposed to report this?”.
“Maurice, the second we slap FentonWorks Incident on that report, we could claim we fought the goddamn tooth fairy and the higher-ups wouldn’t question it”.
The other cop just whistles, rather impressed.
---
Danny snags some danishes before flopping down in one of the kitchen chairs, “so guess who shot three people, had a bazooka standoff with the cops, and was in a freaking bank robbery, today?”.
His mom turns away from the stove, she was probably making supper, “are you okay? Didn’t seriously hurt anyone?”. His dad, who’s tinkering with… something, just looks giddy, “that’s my boy”.
Danny snorts, “eh the worst anyone got was maybe a cracked rib, kinda threw a gun kinda hard into his chest”.
Both his parents wincing, his dads the one to ask though, “Fenton kinda hard or normal people kinda hard”.
“Mostly normal”, Danny shrugs, he’s not worried, “and the cops got the guys I sealed in the vault out pretty quick so I doubt they were having issues breathing”, straightening up some, “the deal went fine though, some cash in the account already”.
His dad does a little cheer, while his mom smiles, “that’s good and I’m glad things didn’t get too eventful”.
Danny laughs, “ha! Yeah, someone definitely record some of that shit show though so dont be too surprised if I’m on the news again”. They shake their heads fondly at that… and yes, Danny was in fact on the news that night from multiple different shaky angles; his outfit definitely was a bit of an eyesore, nice.
End.
Prompt: Danny gets caught in the middle of a bank robbery. Can he diffuse the situation without revealing his powers?

So, I'll admit that I've been really behind on your Sweet & Sour Dipplin fic (I stopped at Chapter 5). But I managed to binge read all the way to the current chapter in 2-3 hours and some eye pain and I gotta say I was floored by all the events that happened since then. It was like getting hit by a massive whirlwind of plot and emotions that I certainly enjoyed! But one of the biggest questions I've got to ask is this:
"Will Juliana ever learn to lock her door when at least 3 people told her to upfront lol?"
TW: mentions of home invasion/attempted robbery, TW is italicized if you want to skip over the mentions
Oh my god I love the fact you legit got that into it??? But also pls take care of yourself!!! And xDD I'm glad it's enjoyable
Okay so the backstory on the door locking:
A reader pointed it out in a comment once that Juliana's door seemed to be unlocked, and I laughed because it was 100% me unconsciously not accounting for it as someone who's been too trusting with unlocked doors myself LOL. I have the funniest story about how I learned my lesson in a "this is messed up, but since everything turned out okay it's lowkey a dark humor story" kind of way.
The long story short is it involves me inadvertently experiencing home invasion/attempted robbery when living with friends in what was a very safe building around like 3AM a few years ago. We and many others had the habits of keeping our doors unlocked. I inadvertently scared the intruders away the night they snuck in and actually entered my room when I happened to be sitting up in bed (they assumed I was asleep). I was tired, blind, and sassy and I assumed the silhouettes in the dark was one of my suitemates being clingy because they were particularly attached to my hip that day, and I just let out an exasperated "Yeah??" before they bolted. Imagine my horror when I put two and two together and realized that I just casually talked to intruders so nonchalantly. The cop that interviewed me was like "BRO"💀
(Real talk: I & my suitemates got very lucky, and although this is a MUCH longer story, everyone remained safe, nothing of ours stolen, what WAS stolen in other suites was recovered, and the cops caught 'em. If you're ever in a situation like this, stay safe & call 911 once you realize what's happening!! They can track your location even if you're unable to talk.)
So yeah! Lock your doors. Always. :D
I'm obviously not gonna have what happened to me happen to Juliana, though. I may make something much more story appropriate happen with it instead, if anything! But this ask has me thinking of a few possibilities now.

Hi I was hoping you’d help me find a fic !!
Dream and George went down to a gas station during the night to get snacks, while they’re there someone walks in with a gun to rob the place and essentially takes George hostage for a bit, Dream steps in and tries to give the guy money, and eventually the guy runs off because the cops were coming. And the rest of the fic is Dnf dealing the trauma of it and they realise that they were in love with each other.
I hope that’s enough info, I just remember that George realises that he doesn’t want to waste time anymore so they both decide to go for it (it’s really cute).
Thanks for all your help !!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi! Yes, we found it! We love this one and will link it below.

Alight - 1.1
Pairing: Frankie Morales x Female Reader x Santiago ‘Pope’ Garcia
Word Count: 2,678
Rating: M? There’s some language and mentions of sex. The plot features a scary situation and some blood/violence, but it’s canon-typical for the Triple Frontier guys.
Summary: Waking up in the middle of the night to sounds from downstairs, Frankie realizes he needs to protect the things he cares about most.
Author’s note:
This is set in the Caught On universe (after the main storyline) but it can be read as a standalone, too - just with the knowledge that there’s more to this Frankie/Reader/Pope situation than friendship.
I had this vision while I was putting lights on my tree last week and couldn’t stop thinking about it, so here we are. It’s dumb and kind of pointless but I couldn’t stop thinking about a very specific visual.
Part 2 (Reader’s POV) coming tomorrow.
Tumblr media
“Hey.” He spoke quietly into your ear, his entire body on alert. “Wake up.” You moved beneath him, back arching as you stretched. Under normal circumstances, Frankie would have taken a few seconds to appreciate the way the soft parts of your body felt as they pressed against him, but he didn’t do it that night. Because this isn’t a normal circumstance. “You’ve gotta -”
“Frankie?” You inhaled and then tried again, voice thick with sleep. “Frankie, w-” He cut you off with a hand over your mouth and you froze beneath him, Frankie swearing to himself. Shit, don’t scare her.
“Everything’s alright but I you’ve gotta be quiet and listen to me. Do you understand?” His voice was barely more than a whisper, lips directly over your ear. “I need you to nod if you do.”
Your head moved up and down three times and Frankie pulled his hand away from your mouth, shifting so that his body was atop yours, the man looking down and directly into your eyes. He saw fear there, the moonlight shining in through the cracks in the curtains illuminating an expression that he usually did everything to keep from your face, and the man winced, taking a breath.
“Someone’s in the house. Heard a crash downstairs a minute ago. I need you to put some clothes on and get ready to call 911.”
“What?” You were whispering, too. “Someone’s in -” It was his turn to nod, Frankie pressing his lips together as he shifted off of you and toward the side of the bed where the floor didn’t creak, climbing off of it and standing. “‘Frankie, don’t -”
“Stay quiet.” He murmured the words, still leaning over you. “Might just be Pope or one of the guys, but I don’t know yet.” And if it’s not, the last thing I want is whoever it is to find you like this.
You’d fallen asleep a few hours earlier wearing nothing, your exhausted body curled around his, and even though he loved waking up to the sight of your bare skin, that night, he wished you’d put something on. “Pope’s not coming tonight.” You sat up, frowning. “It’s too late for -”
“We’ll see.” His eyes darted to the dresser, where he kept a handgun, and then back to you. “Call them as soon as I leave the room. And no matter what you hear, stay up here. Lock yourself in the bathroom.”
You both heard it then - a quiet thunk from downstairs, the sound loud enough to be heard through the partially opened door - followed by complete silence. It’s not one of the guys. They would have turned a light on. “Frankie, you....” He saw that you were still scared and knew he needed to act, Frankie straightening up and running his thumb over your lips. “Please be careful.”
It was little more than a breath but he heard you nonetheless, and by the time he’d crept to the doorway, opening it slowly and giving you one final look over his shoulder, Frankie was back on high alert.
You’d listen to him - at least he hoped you would, and so he took a deep breath and crouched down, making his way to the stairs. His first instinct upon hearing the noise was to call out, but another, quieter one immediately afterward had kept him from doing so, Frankie’s second instinct to cover your body and wake you up - which he’d done immediately.
As he crept down the steps, still in almost complete darkness, Frankie kept close to the wall, eyes wide open and adrenaline pumping, both hands already curled into loose fists.
Carrying the gun would have been the easier option, but if Colombia had taught Frankie anything, it was that he was sometimes too quick on the trigger. And if I fuckin’ shoot one of my friends because I couldn’t wait, I wouldn’t forgive myself.
The sounds got louder the closer he got to the main floor - someone was clearly rummaging through things in the living room. For one brief moment, Frankie wondered if his past was finally catching up to him, and then even before the thought was fully formed, he’d dismissed it. No, they wouldn’t waste time looking through shelves if that’s why they were here.
His bare feet hit the hardwood floor, and Frankie crept forward, eyes narrowed as he peeked into the living room, a hunched over figure in front of the TV stand. Fucking figures.
There’d been a string of break-ins in the area over the previous few weeks, the holiday season making people desperate, and it seemed that that night, someone had chosen your place to target. Wrong decision.
He wasn’t afraid for himself, or that the person that had broken in would get past him and to you now that he was downstairs, because that wasn’t even an option.
Instead, he was afraid that his reaction would go past the point of necessity - that when he confronted the person, he wouldn’t be able to stop himself before he took things too far. Only if I have to. And more than that, he was worried of what you’d think about him handling the situation if it resulted in bodily injury. We’ll see what happens.
After a half minute of observation, he only saw one person in the room. Even though Frankie didn’t know if anyone else was lurking outside on your porch to keep watch, he decided it didn’t matter, the recurring thought of you upstairs and vulnerable kicking him back into action.
He took a breath, closing his eyes, and then Frankie stood up straight, staring into the room that the other man was in, the space somewhat brighter than the hall thanks to streetlights outside.
He had multiple advantages - his combat experience, the fact that he was running on pure adrenaline, the desire to protect you and his home helping him focus - but Frankie forced himself to wait, flattening himself against the wall and keeping in the shadows, though he didn’t look away from the person in the living room.
Subduing the man was the goal. Finding a way to keep him immobilized until the police arrived was all Frankie needed to do - and so he acted, waiting until the stranger was fully turned away to enter the room, his feet carrying him quickly around the end of the couch so that he was directly behind the intruder.
Frankie’s arm shot out before the other man even had a chance to react, winding around the man’s neck and dragging him backwards. He heard a shout, the sound throttled at the end, and as he flexed his arm, tightening his hold, Frankie pressed his other hand against the side of the other man’s head, keeping him from turning it. “Wrong fuckin’ house, asshole.”
He hissed the words out, the man struggling in his hold, fingers clawing at Frankie’s bare arms, and then without warning, Frankie felt a heavy, booted foot come down on one of his, the pain making him see stars. Shit. He roared in agony, but his momentary lapse in focus meant that the intruder was able to rear his head back into Frankie’s face and slip free, turning around and reaching for his waistband. Fuck.
He reacted right away, lashing out with a closed fist and clocking the man in the jaw, and Frankie was pleased to see him stumble - but he didn’t go down.
His foot was throbbing, and even though it was painful, he managed to dodge the man’s return swing, reaching with his right hand and punching the thief directly in the stomach. He stumbled backwards again, but before he could fall, Frankie grabbed for him, hauling the man to the side and then shoving him down, one leg sweeping out on instinct to kick the second man’s feet from beneath him and force him onto his back in the open space by the couch. Not the fucking tree.
They crashed to the floor in a heap, Frankie climbing on top of the other man and pinning him, upper lip curled into a snarl beneath his mustache. “Like I said, you picked the wrong house tonight, asshole.”
The man’s nose was already bleeding, but Frankie didn’t care, rearing back and punching him again, knuckles connecting with a sickening crack that he barely heard. But when the man went limp beneath him, Frankie finally took a breath, closing his eyes. I got him.
The whole fight had taken less than a minute but he was breathing hard, Frankie’s adrenaline pumping, and he knew that once that had worn off, he’d really feel the pain of his foot getting stomped on and the hit he’d taken to the face. But I’m alright now, and I need to … Looking around, Frankie searched for something to restrain the intruder with.
Zip ties would have been his first choice, but there weren’t any in the room, and the idea of getting up and leaving the unconscious man for long enough to get them from the kitchen made his skin crawl. Find something else.
He released a deep breath, looking down - and then saw one of the unused strands of lights beneath the tree where you’d left it before heading to bed. “That’ll work.”
Leaning forward, he grabbed for the end of it and then scooted backwards, rolling the man onto his stomach before winding the cord around his wrists and twisting it tight. Only needs to last a couple minutes like this. Tucking the end of the strand to secure it, Frankie pulled his hands back, flexing his fingers - and realized that they were bloody, thanks to the steady stream leaking from the man’s likely broken nose. Shit. That’s gonna get everywhere.
He hoped that you’d called the police already, and just as he opened his mouth to yell up to you, he heard you say his name from the entryway to the living room, Frankie’s head whipping in your direction. Fuck. “I told you to stay upstairs.”
“Yeah, well.” You stepped into the room, features illuminated by the streetlights. “I called the police and told them someone was breaking in, and that I heard you fighting with them. Gave them the address and then hung up.” You shrugged. “Figured that it might make someone come faster if we weren’t still on the phone. Smart.
“How much of that did you see?” He swallowed hard, eyes still on you, one hand pressing down on the center of the man beneath him’s back. “How long have you been down here?”
You rounded the couch but didn’t move any closer, and Frankie was surprised to see that you were wearing only a long t shirt and pair of shorts, your phone held tightly in one hand as you crossed your arms over his chest. You knew about his past - knew the things he’d done both in the service and after, but that didn’t mean that he liked you seeing what he was capable of.
“I saw you grab him, so the whole thing.” Your eyes moved between Frankie and the man on the ground. “Did he step on your foot?
“Yeah.” Frankie waved it off. “I’ll be fine, though.” He sniffed, rubbing at his eyes with his free hand and wincing as he hit the bridge of his nose with the heel of it. Ow. “You should go back upstairs. If he wakes up, I don’t want you down here.”
“I’ll be fine. You’re right there.” You stepped away from him and toward the wall, bending down. “But hang on a sec, it’s too dark in here.”
Moments later Frankie blinked at the brightness of the multicolored lights you’d just plugged in, half of the string wound around the man’s arms and wrists, the other half stretched out beneath the tree. “What the…”
His gaze rose to meet yours and at the look on your face, Frankie couldn’t help the shocked laugh that escaped him, yours joining only a few seconds later as you dropped own onto the couch, covering your face with both hands.
He watched your shoulders shake, and immediately knew that your reaction was due to the fact that you hadn’t really started to process what was happening. And as his laugh got louder, Frankie realized that the same was true for him. It’ll happen though.
“Might as well make things festive while we wait, right?” You murmured the words, turning your head to look at him. “Good thing we left those lights out.” Yeah, it is. Your phone vibrated in your hand then, and Frankie watched as you flipped it over so that you could read the screen, a tiny smile on your face at whatever you saw. “Pope’s coming in.” What?
Seconds later, the door burst completely open and the dark-haired man entered the room, immediately moving toward where you sat. “You doin’ alright, ‘Fish?”
“I am.” He nodded, the tightness in his chest loosening a little. “But how’d you -”
“She texted me. Said unless it was me sneaking in that someone was in the house and you were taking care of it, so I got in my car and here I am.” Pope sat on the couch next to you, the man putting himself between you and where Frankie was, and at the sight of an additional barrier between you and potential danger, he felt more tension leave his body, despite the fact that he was kneeling above an unconscious, tied up man on your living room floor. “He’s out cold, Cat. How hard you hit him?”
“Hard enough.” He straightened up, eyes on the way that Pope reached for you with one hand, the man’s fingers twining with yours, watching as you inched closer on the couch and leaned your head against Santiago’s shoulder without looking away from him. “He’ll be fine, but he won’t -”
Frankie stopped speaking as he heard the sound of sirens growing louder, your attention going to the wide open front door along with his. That was fast. “Hey. Before they get in here…” Pope cleared his throat, saying your name and then Frankie’s. “I love what you’ve done with the Christmas lights this year.”
It broke the tension further, and Frankie didn’t even try to stop the laugh that erupted from his throat,  the sounds of your amusement and Pope’s audible moments later, too. “I’m really glad you’re here, Pope.”
“Where else would I be?” He coughed, clearing his throat. “I’m here as long as you guys need me.” Good. Frankie nodded once, eyes moving from his friend to you, the corners of his mouth lifting briefly - and then back to Pope, a single nod the only other acknowledgement he made.
Trying to steady his breaths, Frankie closed his eyes and lowered his shoulders, settling back onto his legs and removing both hands from the intruder’s body. She’s safe. I’m safe. It could have been much worse.
If it had been anyone else but Pope that showed up, Frankie’s reaction would have been different - annoyance instead of relief, anger that someone thought he couldn’t handle the situation on his own. But Pope just needed to know that she … that we were alright.
Reaching forward, Frankie slipped a finger beneath the strand of lights and tugged, ensuring that it was tight - and then he finally stood, turning to where the two of you sat. “Hey.” He cleared his throat. “Are you -”
You lept to your feet, Pope dropping your hand immediately, and when Frankie felt your arms go around him, cheek pressed flush to his bare shoulder and his hands tightening against your back, he relaxed completely. “I’m fine. Thank you for keeping us safe.”
He barely heard your whispered words, but that didn’t stop him from replying, his mouth moving against the top of your head. “You act like I’d ever let anything happen to you.”
“She knows you wouldn’t, ‘Fish.” Pope leaned back against the cushions of the couch, Frankie locking eyes with him as he continued to hold you tightly. “Everyone does.”

thanks for the tag @heartstringsduet! here's a little more of the old west au that's been brewing in the back of my mind
Carlos tries to grasp on to something, anything that his hand will take purchase of. He feels his hand touch against the cuff of the robber's jeans and he pulls down. He can’t truly revel in his victory until he knows the man is captured and brought to justice.
He and the robber tussle on the ground before he’s able to pin the other man down.
During the scuffle, the man’s red bandana has slid down his face and Carlos feels as if his breath has been robbed from him.
He’s staring face to face with TK Strand, and he’s trying to stall the part of his mind that’s telling him that he’s beautiful. Strand’s wanted poster doesn’t do him justice, and Carlos is seeing that first hand.

Convenience store / loneliness / "Leave no trace behind, like you don't even exist
The clerk behind the counter smiled when she saw her regular customers entering the convenience store. It had been a while since she had seen them enter. Likely because of the missions they were given.
Angela greeted her, and Elliot, as usual, avoided eye contact from her. The clerk understood, however, as she greeted the two the same.
"Hello, Angela and Elliot!" She greeted.
"Heya, Sam," Angela greeted back with a smile. Elliot glanced at Sam for a moment, before giving her a small smile.
"H-hey, Sam," Elliot greeted as well. "We're just here to pick up some snacks."
"Cashews and jerky, I assume?" Sam giggled.
Elliot nodded, his eyes glued to the shelf where the cashews were on. "Y-yeah."
Angela glanced around the shelves for a moment before taking her snacks—a bottle of Dr. Pepper and a packet of Fruit Roll Ups. She loved these since she was a child, and eating and drinking them brought back nostalgic memories.
"No drink, Elliot?" Angela questioned.
"Oh!" Elliot said, shaking their head, "no, not really. I got water in the car."
"Fair enough!" Angela shrugged before taking her snacks to Sam's counter. Elliot did the same with his snacks, and Sam began scanning them and calculating the total.
"Five fourty-two," Sam announced to the two.
Elliot dug in their back pocket to take out his money, but Angela shook her head.
"You got it last time," she said, "let me pay for it."
"A-are you sure?" Elliot asked.
"Sure thing," Angela answered, taking her purse and pulling out six dollars in cash. "You're too sweet for your own good, Elliot."
"I… want to help in any way I can, even if it means paying for our food," Elliot chuckled sheepishly.
Angela giggled, as she gave the money to Sam, who began calculating the change. "You did a lot for the team, Elliot. You don't have to do everything for us."
"Th-thank you," Elliot muttered, his eyes averted from hers. "I appreciate it, Angela—"
"They got guns!" A man's voice screamed in the store.
Chaos ensued, as many of the customers screamed and tried to flee. However, three people—masked and armed with guns—entered through the front door, their guns aimed at anyone who dared to get close.
"Everyone get down!" One gunman yelled, "This is a robbery! Try anything funny, and you're all fucking dead, you hear me?!"
Immediately, Angela grabbed Elliot and dragged him near a shelf, ducking so the robbers wouldn't see them. However, due to how close they were to the entrance, the robbers spotted them immediately. Meanwhile, Sam had her hands up, her eyes wide in shock.
Robberies never happened in this convenience store. And it frightened everyone.
"Listen to me!" Another robber screamed, "Give us everything! Your purses, your jewelry, everything! Or else we'll shoot someone!"
Elliot hyperventilated, his breathing heavy as they watched as the robbers approached each and every one of the customers to take their things. Why? Why was this happening?
Angela took his hand, squeezing it tightly. "Elliot, baby," Angela whispered, "it's okay. Just do what they say and we'll be okay."
"B-but—"
"Hey you!" A voice screamed, and Elliot's ears rang from how loud the voice was. He flinched, as they glanced up to see one of the robbers, pointing his gun straight at Elliot. "Give us everything you have, right now!"
Elliot's body shook, as he nervously shook their head. "B-but I need the things to—"
The robber groaned, before he aimed the gun at the shelf above the two. He shot a bullet, leaving a hole in the shelf, as small pieces of wood fell on both Angela and Elliot. Elliot flinched, fighting the urge to cover his ears from the loud bang. He hated loud, unexpected noises.
"Give. Me. Your. Stuff. NOW!" The robber threatened, "Or else I'll fucking shoot you!"
"Sir," Angela began, her voice calm and collected. Elliot wasn't sure how she could be calm in a situation like this. "Calm down. We'll give you whatever you want. Here." She removed her purse, handing it to the robber. The robber snatched it from her, before digging through its contents. He threw things that weren't important to him—her ID, her work card…
He finally found a necklace and a large wad of money, and the man smirked from under his mask before he pocketed them.
"And what about you?" The robber growled, pointing his gun at Elliot once more.
Angela squeezed Elliot's hand, and Elliot glanced at her. Angela frowned, and Elliot knew what she was conveying.
With a gulp, Elliot took out his wallet from his back pocket, and handed it to the robber. The robber swiped it from his hand before digging through its contents.
The man frowned behind the mask. Only six dollars.
"That's all you got?" He asked in a low voice.
"S-sorry…" Elliot gulped, averting his eyes from the robber.
The robber simply tched, before he went on his way to collect other valuable items from the other hostages.
Elliot gasped, tears threatening to fall as he tried to hold back a panic attack. They were part of the Roaring Lions, yes, but he was more of a behind-the-scenes person, getting coordinates to find criminals. They never thought he would be put in such a situation like this.
"Hey," Angela whispered, squeezing Elliot's hand. Elliot gulped, turning to face her. "It's okay. Everything will be just fine. I promise."
Elliot nodded, unsure if everything would be okay. He had overheard and seen scenes like this on television; sometimes, the robbers murdered the hostages once they got what they wanted. But… their faces were covered, to conceal their identities. Surely everything will be okay… right?
The sounds of familiar sirens hit their ears, to which the robbers picked up on. They glanced at the entrance, and they all cursed when they saw police cars surrounding the store. What alarmed them the most, however, was the appearance of the Roaring Lions. They all had their guns drawn, and the police chief was yelling out orders to the robbers.
"Fuck fuck FUCK!" One robber cursed, before running towards Angela and Elliot. Elliot gasped as the robber grabbed his shirt, before pulling them to his feet and placing the gun to their head.
"Elliot!" Angela cried, her eyes wide in fear.
"Try anything," the robber yelled at the police and the team, "and he'll die!"
"N-no!" Elliot yelped, tears now falling down his face as fear struck them. Why him? Why? What did they ever do to them?
"Let him go, sir!" Angela cried, holding herself back from tackling the robber holding Elliot. She knew better than to do something rash—she had to think of something, and quickly.
"Shut the fuck up," the robber growled, before turning to the police and the team, "put down your weapons and I'll let him go! You hear me?!"
"Elliot!" Elliot could hear Theo's cry from outside. He wanted to scream and beg his leader to save them, but he kept their mouth shut. One false mode and he would be shot.
Angela scanned the store. The two robbers were occupied with taking the items from the other hostages, while the robber holding Elliot was barking orders at the police and the others. If she could distract him…
She carefully crawled towards the two, her eyes shifting back and forth to make sure that no one was watching. Good. She was cleared.
Without warning, she lunged at the robber, tackling his legs. The robber yelped, letting Elliot go, and that was when the police and the Roaring Lions burst through the door, their guns pointing at the robber. The robber, realizing that he had no way of stalling them, held his hands up.
The other robbers did the same, dropping their weapons and holding their hands up in surrender.
Elliot scooted away from the scene, before he jumped in Angela's arms.
"A-Angela…" Elliot's whisper changed into a sob.
"Sh sh sh," Angela hushed him, "it's okay. You're safe. We're safe. It's okay now."
As the police and the Roaring Lions arrested the three robbers, Elliot couldn't help but breathe a shaky sigh of relief. Angela was right—it was going to be okay, now that it was over.

ETN Ramble: Season 2 AU
Right... I think this might be becoming a thing. I apologise now.
Anyway, hi, guys! Today, I'm gonna be rambling about a random ETN Season 2 AU I got when I was reading over my PMs with the lovely @rockonfishboy. I very well might write it and put it up on AO3, but I just need to get it out of my system first. So some quick context and TWs before we get into this: 1. Yes, I am obsessed with Season 2. A lot of the characters are very interesting and their dynamics are some of the most interesting in the show. Fight me.
2. This AU idea contains a ton of murder, a bit of stalking, torture and pretty much anything you can think of taken straight out of a horror movie (which is basically ETN, but WAY less censorship) and put into this fic. If you are triggered by any of the above (or anything in the tags that I may not have mentioned above), please do not read this post.
But with all that aside, let's go!
Tumblr media
So this AU is based on what I call 'High School/College Horror'. If you need an example, think of things like Unfriended or House of Wax or Happy Death Day. Basically, the movie either features an event that took place at that time and that event triggers the story of the movie or the characters are around that age.
They may not be in college (depends on what exactly I wanna do), but to me, it has that same kind of energy.
Essentially, the AU revolves around the Season 2 cast in a huge mess; due to a massive misunderstanding on their part, Lauren died because of them at a party. In the words of Liza Koshy, Alex is single. And also, because of this, he's also now completely unhinged.
Because here's the thing; he thought he was doing everything right. He thought nobody would have to see this side of him, the side desperate for a normal life beyond his circumstances. He didn't have the best life, but with Lauren, he had a chance to overcome that, to escape it.
They took that away from him.
So his solution? Brutally torture and murder everyone, take their things and build a new life for himself out of the ashes he burned them down to.
Or force them into a death game or something. One of the two.
So what does he do? He makes a list. Gets all the information he can on Lauren's death and, from there, deduces who he thinks is the most-to-least responsible for her death.
From there, he will kill from bottom to top. That way, the people who are the most responsible will suffer more as more of their friends die.
...I swear, all he needs to be No Mercy Percy is a goddamn pepperbox at the rate I'm going. ANYWAY!
I think that one idea that would be really cool is that their deaths are based on their roles from Season 2. So for example:
Alex convinces Andrea her house is haunted and, when she's kinda went a loopy off of it, he kills her.
Alex kills Jesse during a break-in (IDK, Outlaws rob things, it made sense to me).
Tyler and Gabbie die in two of the most dramatic ways known to man.
DeStorm gets pushed onto train tracks.
Tana might have a liquor themed death.
Someone's having a Hitman-esque death.
Imagine Liza being baked into a pie.
Like, that kinda thing. I wanna give Stephen King a run for his money.
IDK how this list would look, but its gonna be wild. I have a feeling, if I do write this, its gonna be something interesting.
Tumblr media
...God, I have a sick mind. But somehow, it made more sense than the Detective ramble!
Thanks for reading my carnage and I'll see you next time! Bye!
Your Author, Marbella. <3
