Exciting news from the Lost 52 Project- the wreck of the USS HARDER (SS-257) has been discovered in the South China Sea sitting in over 3,700 feet of water. HARDER was one of the most successful submarines during WWII, credited with sinking 20.5 ships, sharing an assist with USS HADDO, for 82,500 tons and another 7 ships damaged for 29,000 tons. All six of her war patrols were deemed successful, earning her six combat stars and the Presidential Unit Citation. Her commanding officer, Commander Sam Dealey, was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. He is one of just eight submariners to receive the award.

This brings the total number of Lost 52 boats found up to 13. The others include Lagarto, Grunion, Wahoo, Perch, Flier, R-12, S-26, S-28, Robalo, Stickleback, Albacore and Grayback. Now we have Harder.

Day 5: Rairpair

Day 5 of @bullettrainpromptweek and you just know I had to write some wolfson wasdfghgf I care them,,,,, 

“And that one?” 

“Robalo.” 

“That one?” 

“Bacalao.” 

“That one?” 

“Lenguado.” 

“This one?” 

“Anchoa- Amor, you know that one!” 

“I know, but I like hearing you tell me.” 

Lazaro rolled his eyes but smiled. If he knew his boyfriend was dead set on knowing the Spanish word for every fish at the aquarium he would’ve brought a dictionary so he could save some energy listing them off. 

But he couldn’t deny how utterly endearing it was to see Percy’s eyes light up after hearing each word. His face lit by the warping reflection of the water by the glass made him look ethereal. 

Percy grabbed Lazaro’s hand and gave it a little squeeze. Truly, he wasn’t one for public displays of affection. The lingering fear of one of his father’s people seeing them despite him running away was still a prevalent issue in his mind. But he felt Lazaro deserved it for dealing with half an hour of questions that could have easily been answered with a check on Google. 

“Thank you for putting up with me.” Percy whispered. He could feel Lazaro look at him but he kept his gaze straight in front of him. He watched as two stingrays glided past the little observational window, hoping the casted shadows and blue tones of the aquarium could mask his reddening face. 

“Does God put up with man?” Lazaro asked rhetorically. 

“Or is his work not a labor of love? And thus not labor at all?” Lazaro brought Percy’s hand to his mouth and kissed the back of it. 

“I don’t put up with you. I don’t see it like that at all. I love every moment with you, amor.” 

Percy turned red and scrunched in on himself. Ripping his hand away and shoving it back in his pockets as Lazaro laughed. Lazaro decided to test his luck and pressed a kiss into Percy’s hairline as the younger man seethed. 

“Fucking asshole. You can’t do that to me in public.” Percy muttered. 

“You love me.” 

Percy didn’t answer. But he did love the other man almost embarrassingly so. So much that he didn’t worry about prying eyes as he kissed Lazaro on the cheek. So much that he didn’t keep his laughter down or cover his teeth when he smiled as Lazaro compared the fish to some of the assassins they’d run into. So much that Percy asked for the names of fish he already knew just to hear the other’s voice.

He loved him.
