I have nothing interesting to say. Probably nothing new, besides. I’m just SO fed up with talking to my boyfriend about my new career and life in the medical field because he is annoying.... 

 First of all, the decision to change my life and career in my very late 20′s did not come easy. And then, once I did, I was on a roller-coaster with no end (at least so far). The UPS and DOWNS have been many and they keep coming. Ok so I’m riding this bitch and I need someone to vent to. There’s nobody I know that understands and nobody I know (that I like) that I want to bore or make crazy by listening to the in’s and out’s of my career...(or my patient’s bodies).  So I guess if you’re here, reading this ... you have a boring life but so do I! So welcome to my vent blog.

The heart or the pump of the body consists of two ventricles and two atria supplied by the Right and Left coronary arteries which are visible in the photo. Any transient or complete obstruction within the vessels will lead to angina or MI (Myocardial infarction) respectively. The obstruction is usually what is known as an atheroma or plaque composed primarily of fatty cells. What's interesting is that these atheroma start developing within our vessels as soon as teenage and continue till death, so a variety of factors will either aggravate or slow down the process resulting in angina/MI. Bragging rights.

I have been in orientation the whole week for school. Tomorrow is the last day and I officially start Spring 2014 on Monday. It's nerve wrecking but exciting at the same time. Today, we got a chance to meet most of the faculty member for the college. I, then, realized a lot of them are graduates of the college. That, in itself says a lot! I was really impressed with how much praises they all spoke about regarding county (I mean they should, they do work there) but even those ones that barely stepped into their positions were really impressed with the faculty, staff and the type of nurses they produce. When I found out I got into this school, it was hard to believe because one, I didn't think I was gonna get in, it wasn't my first choice per se. Second, it's a Merritt school, and well my TEAS score wasn't the best. Though, I must say that I am a 3.2 gpa student with a 3.5 science gpa, I have volunteer hours, and hospital experience. Anyways, I researched a lot about the school after I made up my mind to accept their offer. I was really torn b/t county and MSMC but what lead me to county was the cost. I should have researched the school prior to deciding. I found out that County has a passing rate of 95% and above for the last 5 years! That to me is amazing! That's the reason why people say it's a tough program cus they really push you to pass on your first try! I have only been in the campus for 2 days and I have learned so much about the school, their resources, etc. I have grown to love the school, even be in love with it. It's going to be a tough two years with me working full time as well as going to school full time.. but I know I can do it! My whole mind and soul is set on doing it!
