the main problem with kyle in the new episodes

ok this is what RLLY bothers me abt kyle in modern south park ESPECIALLY in seasons 24-26 and i think a lot of people are getting annoyed with this shit too. i hate how they’ve been showing repeatedly how cartman’s getting better and acting nicer in the new episodes so like why TF is kyle still being a dick to him and treating him like a monster???? i mean for YEARS kyle has been going out of his way to help cartman and change cartman and making it clear he wants cartman to be a better person and make better choices, so then when cartman finally does he’s just like 😴. like idc if u ship kyman or not it’s rlly out of character for kyle. they’re still canonically close friends so it feels like a missed opportunity for character development on kyle’s end for them not to show kyle reciprocating or appreciating cartman doing better. i guess it’s bc matt & trey are trying to show kyle has been the toxic one and the jealous snake friend all along, but still even tho kyle is an asshole they don’t have to make him THAT big of an asshole. i think a lot of people like seeing kyle’s caring codependent side come out bc that’s the good side of kyle as a person how big-hearted and empathetic he can be. and there def have been some modern episodes where they DO get this right like especially in “the streaming wars” when kyle helped cartman out with his mom’s ‘surgery’ (even tho kyle deadass only helps cartman or feels bad for him when cartman is lying just to fuck himself over which i had talked abt before how he always gets the timing wrong with cartman for those who are caught up on your wendytestabrat lore). i also feel like an episode that DEF got things right with kyle was “help my teenager hates me” from s25. i loved that moment where cartman was crying abt how everything sucks and he lives in a hot dog and kyle is just like “ru okay cartman?” like bitch we need more moments like THAT. even if kyman doesn’t happen, idc like i just wanna see more moments of kyle being a good friend to cartman back (bc they def have given us A LOT of moments of cartman being there for kyle) is that too much to ask? but yeah in the images i used above are from the specials “post covid” (part 1), “south parq vaccination special”, “not suitable for children” and “joining the panderverse” and in literally every single one of these specials kyle’s being a dick and jumping down cartman’s throat when he aint doing anything wrong lol. in post covid he’s all mad at cartman for being a rabbi, even tho we all know cartman wasn’t faking it and was genuinely happy. in “south parq vaccination special” he gets all pissy throughout the whole thing when all cartman is trying to do is save the broship, in “not suitable for children” he’s getting all mad at cartman for making his own cred affinity group which last i checked aint a crime (and we all know he was just mad bc cartman wasn’t letting him in the group), and in “joining the panderverse” he’s getting all mad and annoyed over cartman being replaced by a black woman and he acts like cartman is making it up even tho cartman was telling the truth and there was this real parallel universe shit happening. like this shit needs to stop it’s getting soooo old and all it’s doing is making kyle unlikable af and annoying everyone who used to love kyle lol. like ok we get it matt & trey kyle can be just as toxic as cartman, now can we also see that he can be just as caring and nice as cartman too?

Okay so like... story idea?

I've recently been getting back into writing but not rlly on here as real ones would know (sorry for my absense I've missed u pookie pies), and I think I want to write a book/story or whatever.

I haven't got my idea all fleshed out yet but here goes:

Synopsis

Memories. The most precious resource in the world – the grandest luxuries and the deepest shames – are now dredged from the deepest corners of shadows and strung across the gilded necks of  high society. Escapism at its finest, new memories are hard to come by, and can only be stolen and pried from minds whose hearts have stopped beating.

She (the main character whose name I haven't decided on yet) was murdered. Blood inking over cold white skin. That was before she was woken up. But now she's awake, and she knows something is missing. Memories were stolen from her.

Now she's thrust back into what she's told is her old life, trying to piece things together without the glue of her memories, hiding the truth of her murder from those who surround her. She was warned not to trust anyone.

Not even the person who wishes to help her, and certainly not the other one, the one in the shadows.

Aspects of the book

I would say definitely a LOT of mystery. A couple time jumps throughout the story as she finds some of her memories back and of course it's also about her trying to solve her own murder and why and what's missing from her mind.

Of course there's some of my favourite tropes in it as well: "who did this to you", grumpy and hates everyone and pretends to hate her but doesn't really, sunshine/golden retriever, mysterious unveilings, backstabbing etc, love thats not rlly allowed (i forgot the name for that) :)

Unbearable, searing fucking tension and slow burn and miscommunication and a shit ton of angst because why tf not, still deciding whether there will be spice but ill see....

BUT THE THING I NEED HELP WITH IS THE SETTING!!!! I don't really know when this novel will be set, whether it's a sort of dystopic novel world where it's a little bit futuristic a LITTLE like never let me go but i dont rlly like that book so idk, or if I should do it a little bit old but non-descript fantasy, a little bit like Priory of the Orange Tree if anyone's read that.

ok so to start off u CAN think of terraria at its very core as "minecraft but 2D". just for the basic mechanics. u mine and craft and fight. however terraria is also heavily focused around progression via boss battles .

so. the first boss you'll fight is the Eye of Cthulhu. which is literally just cthulhu's disembodied eye bc im pretty sure in the lore of terraria the Dryads like... captured? and then killed Cthulhu? but also he lives in the moon sort of so idk. unless the Moon Lord isn't Cthulhu. hold on OKOK i read the lore . so basically the Dryads were like "man you suck" (bc cthulhu was detrimental to the world's continued existence), captured him, ripped out his organs, and then banished him to the moon . so.

the second boss you'll fight is either the Brain of Cthulhu, or the Eater of Worlds. BoC is just Cthulhu's brain. idk how that mans still doin shit on the moon but by god is he still there . EoW is just a Big Worm. anyway BoC hangs out in a biome called "The Crimson" which is red. and goopy. and in the background you can see bones (which are presumed to be cthulhu's). it's basically just a biome made of flesh and blood that's mingled with the earth and turned everything Red. google terraria face monster . i hate those guys they're creepy. but they live there. EoW lives in the crimson's counterpart, "The Corruption". its porble.

Thirdly is Skeletron. Skeleton is summoned by talking to an old guy standing outside of the entrance to the Dungeon (don't go in the dungeon before fighting skeletron. there is an enemy that will spawn that will 1-hit kill you). when you talk to him at night you can summon Skeletron. in which the guy kind of just explodes into a giant disembodied skull and arms that tries to beat u to death. then that guy moves into ur town once skellyboy is defeated. he got better dw

lets see . im gonna skip some stuff bc god terraria is Big. eventually you'll fight the Wall of Flesh. which may actually be the True Form of the Guide :D bc to summon WoF you have to toss a voodoo doll of the guide (which you get from killing demons. btw.) into lava. and summoning him kills the guide (he'll respawn dw). also you fight WoF in hell. have fun :D

once the Flesh Wall is defeated you enter hardmode !!!!!!! congrats . go die a bunch !!!!!!!!

skipping a bunch of bosses bc they don't rlly matter to the chaos (mecha worm. mecha eyes. mecha skeletron. a living golem in a temple. a Giant Angry Plant. a fish.) eventually u get to the fucken Final Boss(tm) of terraria .

well ok first u have to defeat some cultists that worship cthulhu. and then defeat a bunch of funky pillars that want to kill you SOOO bad. and THEN you get to the final boss. which is cthulhu btw if that wasn't obvious by now . but specifically its just the upper torso of cthulhu. the dryads ripped that guy in half. in a special world you can find his legs and wear them :) . anyway thats Moon Lord. the funky pillars are his final attempt at total conquest of the world btw.

also Moon Lord visibly has a brain and has like . 5 eyes on his face. and two in his hands. WHERE DID THE EoC and BoC COME FROM?????? DID HE JUST SPAWN MORE EYES WHILE ON THE MOON?????? (tbf only like 3 of the eyes are called the "True" eyes of cthulhu so i guess maybe he did) AND A NEW BRAIN??????????????

anyway uhhhhhhh. am i missing anything else. probably. anyway enjoy this

+ like OUGH. Maya Miles bestie hours.. I think, particularly early on wrt him n Phoenix reconnecting, he can be.. not more GENUINE per se, but he certainly puts less pressure on himself to try and hit some like. ideal the way he does w Phoenix. and not even necessarily consciously, but like, Maya doesn’t have this idealized childhood savior version of him propped up in her head.

and this is like, Me Projecting bc hey I can do that :3 but I’ve started trying 2 like. give myself more space to actually BE nonverbal when im overstimulated instead of forcing myself to maintain verbal communication— and I think Maya knows sign language from her childhood with Mia (Mia figuring out quickly that it was a good way for them to communicate if/when Maya went non-verbal— and Mia probably being the only person she felt comfortable signing with bc, well, she’s so bubbly and outgoing and really, she can’t POSSIBLY be non-verbal, they all know the moment she TRIES she’ll be talking their ears off!! So Maya forces herself to talk around the adults and signed with Mia).

and her recognizing overstimulation in Miles before he’s even really giving himself the space to recognize it himself— coming over to annoy him because he NEVER visits Phoenix and she gets it but she MISSES him and… stopping when she sees the way his shoulders hunch and his fingers clench around his pen and he’s staring pointedly at the papers on his desk because he’s been TRYING to focus, trying to force himself to function like a NORMAL adult (except not really; he’s aiming for Von Karma standards whether he wants to admit it or not and that’s not exactly normal). Maya gently tapping the desk to get him to look and signing, and the mixture of relief and sheer confusion when he realizes she’s providing accommodations he’d never admit to needing while also having absolutely no idea what she just said.

That first evening passes with Maya signing while speaking softly, and Miles writing his responses on a spare notepad, but slowly he learns more and more from her until he’s practically fluent too— they can spend a whole evening conversing about the chaos of the legal world and the equally chaotic reworks to Steel Samurai lore without ever saying a word out loud, and those are moments Miles always treasures

(and, when Phoenix stops him one night when he’s particularly overstimulated, clumsily signing “it’s okay, Maya’s teaching me” Miles feels so grateful to know her that he could, possibly, cry. He admits to nothing, but he does text her that she’s his favorite person in the world. She quickly responds “we both know that’s actually Nick, but ily2 ^u^” and it’s definitely one of those moments where it hits him that he Has A Family Now, For The First Time In Years)

ALSO Maya feels very much like the kind of person to say “I love you” very liberally. Especially because of how young she lost Mia + feeling like she didn’t let her sister know enough, even if her feelings are complicated. so I’m sure you can imagine the sort of (very hushed) gossip that goes around whenever people catch Maya leaving (Miles giving her a one armed hug and unable to stop himself from smiling a little even as he TRIES to glower intimidatingly at his subordinates while Maya exclaims “okay BYE Mr. Edgeworth LOVE YOU!! Good luck in court, you better come to game night!!!”)

(he does, of course, come to game night)

(Maya has definitely channeled a spirit to win at LEAST twice and they have yet to decide if it counts as cheating or not since technically it’s not looking up an answer!! but also it is kinda looking up an answer.)

+ lastly ok I’ve probs talked abt this before but I do like the idea that they maintain the sort of silly rivalry they start with but more in a “if you turn my brother into even MORE of a fool you WILL face my wrath, Phoenix Wright” “pffft yeah right, Maya will never let you live it down if you break out the whip at dinner on Saturday” “…I will exact my revenge in other, more subtle ways.”

She sends him a Top Ten Scariest Things Caught On Camera compilation at three in the morning one night (thank you different time zones, she loves being in a different time zone) and he texts back “I hate you >:(“ but they are both laughing. There’s no one he would trust to take care of Maya more than her and there’s no one she would trust to care for Miles more than him.

Also I’ve DEF talked abt it from Phoenix’s POV (texting her at night to confirm Maya’s safe when he has nightmares about her being kidnapped/in danger) but Franziska ABSOLUTELY texts him every now and then like “Miles is there?” and Phoenix knows she would never outright admit to either him or Miles how much Miles’ “death” affected her. Asking if he’s there (safe, nearby, a phone call away) is as close they’ll get — Phoenix always responds as soon as he can (“yep, we’re making dinner!” or “he’s at his office, I’ll see him in forty minutes for lunch” or “he and Maya have a coffee date, you can double check with her but I wouldn’t wanna interrupt their Steel Samurai gossip session”)

She doesn’t always respond, but Phoenix gets it, and he’s always happy to let her know— he’s okay just getting a one-word (or sometimes one letter, if it’s super late for her) response about Maya, but he knows she needs more detail to put her mind at ease (Evidence is key, after all; you can’t build a perfect case without all the information) and he’s happy to provide

They definitely all have dinner together once a week (either just the four of them out at a restaurant, or their entire “family” at one of their houses— Miles and Phoenix, Trucy, Maya and Franziska, Klavier and Apollo, Pearl, Kay, Emma, Athena and Juniper, Simon if he’s feeling up to group interactions, Gumshoe and Maggie if they’re in town, even Larry sometimes). It gets hectic and usually they only get EVERYONE together for holidays, but all of them spent so long with nothing, losing everyone they loved, that having such an ABUNDANCE of connection really is something for them to revel in.

rewatching the stream where fundy n phil meet michael and i remembered how pissed it makes me lmaoo upset ramblings under da cut bc it got long kjfskjsj

 the beginning where phil n ranboo drown him is ehh but i let it slide bc it pales in comparison to the tower fjssklskl they rlly made fundy jump from a tall ass tower over and over just to get back his stuff (which!! he didnt even rlly want most of it back tbh!!!!! just the shclatt sword :[ ) and killed him repeatedly. i get that they dont like him (well tbh its mostly phil although tubbo n ranboo certainly dont object) but hes very non confrontational and docile during this visit even as hes getting drowned and just jkjldlskldkssld despite all that he still wants to go along with them to see michael and thats a whole other disaster. 

i think fundy is one of the few ppl whos given legitimate criticism of the beeduos treatment of michael and is in a place to give that criticism?? like the direct parallels between fundy n michael are Right There and it sucks. it sucks so much. his whole point is just straight up ignored too in favor of the argument ‘michael is a mob’ bc that point is just bad. michael cannot be treated as both a mob and a child bc those hold very different statuses in the dream smp. if beeduo wanted to canonize him being straight up sentient or a hybrid then thatd be different but like. they have to choose one or the other, they cant just switch to whatever benefits them the most in that moment. michael, a mob, dying would be awful because beeduo is attached to him as a particularly special pet. michael, a CHILD, dying would be downright horrific because it would be beeduo losing their very young son. if hes killed then its the same argument. a pet killer and a child killer are drastically different things. 

if michaels a mob then of course fundys idea of he might want a lil freedom is a bit silly. if michaels a child tho then fundy is completely right in that its wrong of them to keep him locked up. ive seen ppl miss fundys point entirely too and point out that clearly the beeduo love michael bc theyre giving him a huge ass manison. the problem isnt that his bedroom is small (well it is but less severe) but that hes not allowed outside or to see anyone other than beeduo and rare visitors. beeduo can give him the biggest mansion they can buy but it doesnt change anything. wilbur gave fundy an entire COUNTRY and it still wasnt enough to salvage their relationship. 

speaking of wilbur, ranboos snarky comment abt how fundys relationship with his dad wasnt the best either was fucked up and it made me feel gross. fundys relationship with wilbur is literally what makes him such a good (if not slightly biased) judge of the situation?? hes BEEN in michaels role before and he has a unique perspective on it. his suggestions werent even that bad, they were literally like ‘maybe take him outside occasionally’ or ‘let people come hang out w him’. tommy straight up said he wanted to kill michael multiple times and the beeduo was less hostile to him. also when fundy was killed in michaels room and he was like ‘hey please dont let michael accidentally grab my stuff’. and everyone was like ‘lmaoo what a fuckin loser sure hope this mob doesnt grab your lore related weapon and netherite gear’. then fundy got mad and said hed kill michael if he grabbed any of his stuff, which is completely reasonable??? fundy was killed, he didnt die by accident, and hed been nothing but kind to michael directly even after being told hes technically a mob. hes allowed to decide that the life of one pet is worth getting his very important heavily grinded items back. beeduo are like ‘we’ll make ur life living hell if u kill michael’ like they werent the ones who killed him and threatened to let his stuff despawn. phil shows a bit of mercy but its immediately taken back. bc phil, fuckin phil that bitch, taunts him by hiding some of his stuff in his inventory to bait him into killing michael. 

im probs gonna stop it here but im so fuckin genuinely pissed bc the entire stream is like that and from a lore pov its just the fucking worst. theres nothing to justify them treating fundy like that in any way when fundy has done so little to any of them jsfssdklsdks grrrrrrr

Give you the ability to befriend npcs and learn more about them. You can do this by gifting them certain items (i was thinking rare materials) that they like & it unlocks new dialogue. I don’t think there should be like, romancing options, but you can get really close & in return they’ll give you new items or eurekas

Like um w andrulian for example, the first 10ish times you gift him something, he’ll give you different eurekas from his shop, 11-20 a new uh wtf is it called the lil paper thingies he’ll give you one of those to unlock, then say the max is 30 & he gives you a unique item (....... maybe a plushie of him? A body mod even? Or just rlly cool clothing). 21-29 can be combos of the first two so a eureka and paper dude

Probably also discounts on stuff w maxed friendship

another thing, please let me cook. Please please please

W all the materials/ingredients we have, i think a good sink for them would be making dishes, and you can unlock recipes by finding them throughout the worlds, as part of gifts from befriending npcs, maybe a season pass item (THTS FREE), etc etc

As you level up, you get more and more health stacked on, and weapons in the game can be used sorta like what they did in animal jam u kno, or for pve youre provided weapons like mugmyres daily quest

There can be pvp areas (u can switch whether or not u want pvp on to wander thru them), pvp games, etc. and food can help bring ur health up, but you gotta b like careful bc it doesnt pause the game when u go into ur inventory 😭 (also, new tab for food)

For pve, as you lvl up you get harder monsters to fight, you dont die automatically like u do in the mugmyre quest if they hit u, etc.. this can also bring in stuff similar to adventures in animal jam (which i miss dearly)

The adventure type stuff can also bring in more lore pertaining to certain things which i Want Desperately please please please
