Establishing Canon Pt. 1

Everyone always forgets that as whole Richard Grayson experienced and lived through more moral and ethic struggles then just the Official One Rule of Batman.

Often when they think of the first Robin, all they see Nightwing. The person who is the combinations all the years of experience and learning. The honest to Gotham, aftermath of white knuckling with morals and ethics, finding his lines in the sand.

Now you can't fault them too much, Dick encourages it; finds it almost amusing to gild the mythos of Robin and Nightwing. It makes it so much easier to get away with things if they don't see the darkness in him.

People thinking he is like Batman makes it harder to predict him, but them easier.

However for his family. Dick would melt the gold and take a sledgehammer to the pedestal himself.

They want to play this game, they are going to lose.

okay wait absolutely insane that brennan asks murph what riz is most afraid of, and he says “being wrong” and “not being able to save kristen,” but instead of yes and-ing, brennan hits him back with

no actually, riz is still working through his asexuality and is deathly afraid of everyone coupling up and forgetting about him in favor of their more important significant others

i think murph is so good at playing riz that he agrees that riz’s biggest fear is failure, but he truly knows it’s just the surface-level concern that’s covering the real fear of being left behind by all the people he cares about, because he’s not like them and he’ll likely never be like them no matter how much he wants to or pretends to be

My therapist (yes I do have one of those, I have for about a decade because truama takes time to unpack and anyone that says it doesn't isn't ready to keep unpacking and that is fine, they will one day), but beside my small tangent,

My theaprist has been high key side eyeing me on making sure I don't burn out, which yeah fair enough. I am currently taking the most intense single certificate for my profession in my country as I did spend some time contrasting and comparing other certificates under the same name.

So you know I do be a threat of it.

So under the recommendatiion of my therapist y'all I will probably be talking more about writing in the future because that is "fill my bucket" material aka. anti-burnout measures.

something I haven't really seen people mention or consider in relation to riz and jawbone and the whole 'what's up with you, come in and talk with me' thing is that riz legitimately cannot do that. he cannot get better because getting better means losing all the things he gains by pushing himself to a wildly unhealthy degree- the points from his extracurriculars and grades in general, the usefulness he still feels he owes to his friends, the ability to push through grief and loss time and again. it's so incredibly sad because like- he was the one who first offered jawbone the job that got his life turned around! he tries so hard at all that he does and has a huge heart and he deserves to live a life that doesn't run him into the ground, but that life would be one where he wouldn't get the education he wants, or at the very best a life where he loses the control that he is gripping onto white-knuckled and has to contend with a lot of things he could never bear to consider at present. getting better would mean stopping, stopping would mean falling, and if he falls, riz is not getting up for a long, long time, and he just cannot afford that

So I watched Nimona with my friend and we loved it. Sick asf, 10/10 would recommend to my shapeshifting besties out there!
